Investors will also be closely watching the Fed's projections for the path of rate hikes this year and in coming years to rein in inflation.</p><p>Fed Chairman Jerome Powell has recently floated multiple rate hikes this year as the Fed seeks to curb inflation.</p><p>"The fact is (PPI) was weaker than the expectation so therefore the idea that Jay Powell is right going 25 basis points seems to be the way the market feels today, that could change tomorrow," said Ken Polcari, managing partner at Kace Capital Advisors in Boca Raton, Florida.</p><p>"The market is in a very oversold position, there are still going to be bumpy roads ahead but today could just be one of those snap-back rallies like we saw last week."</p><p>The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 599.1 points, or 1.82%, to 33,544.34, the S&P 500 gained 89.34 points, or 2.14%, to 4,262.45 and the Nasdaq Composite added 367.40 points, or 2.92%, to 12,948.62.</p><p>The S&P 500 slumped about 2.4% in the prior three sessions and recently joined the Dow, Nasdaq and Russell 2000 in forming a "death cross" technical pattern, when a short-term moving average crosses below a longer-term moving average, which some investors believe signals more near-term weakness is likely.</p><p>Ten of the 11 major S&P sectors advanced, with technology and consumer discretionary stocks leading the way while energy, the sole positive sector on the year, slumped nearly 4% on the day along with crude prices.</p><p>Megacap growth stocks gained with Microsoft Corp up 3.87% and Apple up 2.97%, providing the biggest boosts to the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq.</p><p>Meanwhile, investors also closely tracked a jump in daily COVID-19 infections in China for the possibility of denting global economic growth, and progress in Ukraine-Russia talks to end their weeks-long conflict.</p><p>In the latest hint at compromise, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said Kyiv was prepared to accept security guarantees that stop short of its long-term objective of the NATO alliance membership, which Moscow opposes.</p><p>Delta Air Lines Inc gained 8.70% and United Airlines jumped 9.19% after the U.S. carriers raised their current-quarter revenue forecasts, even as they trimmed capacity. The Arca Airline index climbed 5.57%.</p><p>Volume on U.S. exchanges was 13.46 billion shares, compared with the 13.78 billion average for the full session over the last 20 trading days.</p><p>Advancing issues outnumbered declining ones on the NYSE by a 2.07-to-1 ratio; In the past years, the country subsidized EV sales to support the development of the industry. This policy is, however, expected to come to a standstill by the end of the year.</p><ul><li>7 Dividend Stocks to Finance Your Golden Years</li></ul><p>China’s Finance Ministry announced new subsidy cuts, reducing EV incentives by 30% in 2022 after initial reductions of 10% and 20% in 2020 and 2021. This does not augur well for Chinese EV manufacturers, which will likely witness lower sales and weaker profits. </p><p>However, Nio’s car sales have been marginally impacted by these announcements. The premium EV company delivered 6,131 vehicles in February, representing an increase of 9.9% year-over-year (YOY), and 9,652 vehicles in January, up 33.6% YOY. </p><p>The damaging performance was caused by Nio’s conservative Q4 guidance. It expected deliveries between 23,500 and 25,500 units in the quarter. The midpoint of the guidance represents around the same number of cars delivered in Q3 2021, i.e. 24,439 units. In addition, Nio lowered adjusted revenue guidance to a range of $1.46 billion to $1.57 billion versus a consensus of $1.75 billion. </p><p>With this cautious forward guidance stance, earnings and deliveries will be monitored carefully by investors. Additional weakness on revenue or EV deliveries will adversely impact NIO stock.</p><h3>Nio Stock Is Close to Yielding a Profit</h3><p>Even with the freezing of EV subsidies and the prudent forward guidance of the group, Nio’s fundamentals improved in the past year. The consensus of analysts sees more upside in the next years. </p><p>Nio’s net sales are expected to soar 120.3% in 2021 to 35.8 billion Yuan. The rapid growth of the EV carmaker should endure, as net sales are forecast to surge to 63.2 billion Yuan in 2022 and 99.4 billion Yuan in 2023.</p><p>On the other side, Nio’s bottom line should remain in deficit this year with a net expected loss of 2.28 billion Yuan. However, analysts expect Nio to break even in 2023, reaching a net income of 1.63 billion Yuan. This will likely provide sturdy support for NIO stock.</p><p>In addition, the balance sheet of the EV specialist is well-capitalized. Nio has an expected net cash position of 27.1 billion Yuan as of the end of 2021. The company has enough resources to fuel growth until it thrives in 2023. This is an important sign in the context of interest rate normalization. In these times, companies with an unsustainable level of debt are riskier and thus less attractive for market participants.</p><h3><b>NIO Stock Is Priced in Line With Its Counterparts</b></h3><p>The correction of NIO stock in the past two years has brought its valuation to ground levels in terms of enterprise value (EV)-to-revenue. Nio is valued at 2022 EV/Revenue of only 2.47x. Despite this attractive ratio, it is stretched in terms of its price-to-book (P/B) ratio of a 7.54x.</p><p><b>Xpeng</b> (NYSE:<b>XPEV</b>), another EV maker in China, sells above NIO stock in terms of 2022 EV/Revenue with a ratio of 2.96x. But it displays a more attractive P/B ratio of 4.06x.</p><p><b>LI Auto</b> (NASDAQ:<b>LI</b>), a peer of NIO stock that is getting more and more traction in China, posts a 2022e EV/Revenue ratio of 2.73x and a P/B ratio of 4.61x. At the same time, <b>Tesla</b> (NASDAQ:<b>TSLA</b>), the most valuable EV company in the world, exchanges at an EV/Revenue ratio of 8.02x and a P/B ratio of 16.6x.</p><p>Despite trading at a high P/B ratio, I expect the bearish momentum of NIO stock to prevail if the company misses its upcoming guidance. Yet, for long-term investors, its massive price correction is an opportunity because it consistently enhances its fundamentals and is likely to soon yield a profit. </p><p>Besides, with a solid balance sheet and a massive pile of cash, Nio has all the means to reach its international aspirations. This policy is, however, expected to come to a standstill by the end of the year.7 Dividend Stocks to Finance Your Golden YearsChina’s Finance Ministry announced new subsidy cuts, reducing EV incentives by 30% in 2022 after initial reductions of 10% and 20% in 2020 and 2021. This does not augur well for Chinese EV manufacturers, which will likely witness lower sales and weaker profits. However, Nio’s car sales have been marginally impacted by these announcements. The premium EV company delivered 6,131 vehicles in February, representing an increase of 9.9% year-over-year (YOY), and 9,652 vehicles in January, up 33.6% YOY. The damaging performance was caused by Nio’s conservative Q4 guidance. It expected deliveries between 23,500 and 25,500 units in the quarter. The midpoint of the guidance represents around the same number of cars delivered in Q3 2021, i.e. 24,439 units. In addition, Nio lowered adjusted revenue guidance to a range of $1.46 billion to $1.57 billion versus a consensus of $1.75 billion. With this cautious forward guidance stance, earnings and deliveries will be monitored carefully by investors. Additional weakness on revenue or EV deliveries will adversely impact NIO stock.Nio Stock Is Close to Yielding a ProfitEven with the freezing of EV subsidies and the prudent forward guidance of the group, Nio’s fundamentals improved in the past year. The consensus of analysts sees more upside in the next years. Nio’s net sales are expected to soar 120.3% in 2021 to 35.8 billion Yuan. The rapid growth of the EV carmaker should endure, as net sales are forecast to surge to 63.2 billion Yuan in 2022 and 99.4 billion Yuan in 2023.On the other side, Nio’s bottom line should remain in deficit this year with a net expected loss of 2.28 billion Yuan. However, analysts expect Nio to break even in 2023, reaching a net income of 1.63 billion Yuan. This will likely provide sturdy support for NIO stock.In addition, the balance sheet of the EV specialist is well-capitalized. Nio has an expected net cash position of 27.1 billion Yuan as of the end of 2021. The company has enough resources to fuel growth until it thrives in 2023. This is an important sign in the context of interest rate normalization. But it displays a more attractive P/B ratio of 4.06x.LI Auto (NASDAQ:LI), a peer of NIO stock that is getting more and more traction in China, posts a 2022e EV/Revenue ratio of 2.73x and a P/B ratio of 4.61x. At the same time, Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA), the most valuable EV company in the world, exchanges at an EV/Revenue ratio of 8.02x and a P/B ratio of 16.6x.Despite trading at a high P/B ratio, I expect the bearish momentum of NIO stock to prevail if the company misses its upcoming guidance. Yet, for long-term investors, its massive price correction is an opportunity because it consistently enhances its fundamentals and is likely to soon yield a profit. Besides, with a solid balance sheet and a massive pile of cash, Nio has all the means to reach its international aspirations. These stocks typically provide very high yields, often in the high single- to low double-digit range.</p><p>Of course, high yields often come with high risk, so investors need to identify high-quality MLPs that are likely to continue to at least maintain, if not raise, their distribution.</p><p>Three of our top high-yield MLPs that we believe will continue to pay high yields to shareholders include:</p><ul><li><b>Enterprise Products Partners</b>(NYSE:<b><u>EPD</u></b>)</li><li><b>KNOT Offshore Partners</b>(NYSE:<b><u>KNOP</u></b>)</li><li><b>Magellan Midstream Partners</b>(NYSE:<b><u>MMP</u></b>)</li></ul><p>Enterprise Products Partners (EPD)</p><p>Our first name for consideration is Enterprise Products Partners, one of the largest MLPs in the industry. The $54.5 billion partnership generates annual revenue of close to $41 billion.</p><p>Enterprise Products Partners stores and transports oil and gas through its massive pipeline system. In total, the partnership has nearly 50,000 miles of pipeline that transport natural gas, natural gas liquids, crude oil, and refined products. Enterprise Products Partners has storage facilities that can hold more than 250 million barrels.</p><p>The partnership’s extensive network of pipeline grants it a diversity of asset and geographic reach. Enterprise Products Partners is also able to pivot its pipeline system to move whatever energy product it wishes. This gives Enterprise Products Partners an asset base that few other in the industry can match. It would be cost prohibitive and maybe even politically impossible for another partnership to try to replicate what the partnership has created.</p><p>Enterprise Products Partners’ collects fees on the materials that it transports and stores, making the partnership a toll road for those wishing to move energy products. This helps to insulate the business from the ups and downs of the energy price cycle.</p><p>Enterprise Products Partners is also well positioned to take advantage of the growing demand for liquefied natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas. The partnership has a number of terminals that will aid the business as the U.S. exports grow in size over the next few years.</p><p>A credit rating of BBB+ and Baa1 from Standard & Poor’s and Moody’s, respectively, means that the partnership has a better balance sheet than the vast majority of MLPs.</p><p>The business is been very successful over the years, which has allowed Enterprise Products Partners to raise its dividend for 23 consecutive years. This includes a 3.3% increase for the February 11th, 2022 payment. Enterprise Products Partners differs from most other companies in that it often raises its dividend every quarter, except for 2021, where the dividend was held constant all four payments. Using the new annualized dividend, distributions have a CAGR of more than 4% over the last decade.</p><p>Shares yield 7.4%, more than five times the average yield of the S&P 500 Index. The dividend also looks to be in very sound ground, as Enterprise Products Partners has an average distributable cash flow per unit payout ratio of 57% over the last decade. Combining this reasonable payout ratio with a distribution coverage ratio of more than 1.6x, Enterprise Products Partners is poised to continue to raise its already generous dividend.</p><p>KNOT Offshore Partners (KNOP)</p><p>Our next pick of MLPs is KNOT Offshore Partners, which owns and operates shuttle tankers in the North Sea and Brazil. The partnership has a market capitalization of $525 million and revenue of $279 million last year.</p><p>Knutsen NYK Offshore tankers AS, which is the sponsor for the partnership, has the responsibility of finding, purchasing, and dropping down of ships to KNOT Offshore Partners. As a result, the business is extremely efficient and has just one employee, its CEO.</p><p>The partnership provides loading, transportation, and storage of crude oil under time charters and bareboat charters. Currently, there are seventeen shuttle tankers in service, most of which has long-term and fixed contracts that must be paid regardless of the price of energy. KNOT Offshore Partners’ shuttle tankers have an average age of just under 8 years, which means that the partnership could see several decades of use from its present fleet.</p><p>Due to its business model, KNOT Offshore Partners hasn’t seen the fluctuations in distributable cash flow per unit that many of its peers have experienced. This is due to its contractual agreements and its ability to see higher rental rates when the price of energy is higher. This pattern is likely to continue as the sponsor could drop down as many as three new shuttle tankers through the end of the year.</p><p>At the time of its most recent quarterly report, KNOT Offshore Partners had a utilization rate of 91.9%. This was below the prior year’s result, but this was due mostly to the timing of a charter contract and mechanical issues with another shuttle.</p><p>KNOT Offshore Partners has maintained the same quarterly distribution of $0.52 per share since the November 13th, 2015 payment. The expected coverage ratio for last year is just 1.2, lower than it has been in recent years. The expected distributable cash flow payout ratio is also higher than normal at 84% for 2021. Historically, the payout ratio has been near 70%. Therefore, we do not anticipate that the partnership will raise its dividend in the near future. The tradeoff to this lack of growth is that shareholders are receiving a 13.4% yield today.</p><p>Even with a high payout ratio and lack of dividend growth, we remain confident that KNOT Offshore Partners will be able to continue making its payments to shareholders. The business model has proven successful at navigating other difficult operating environments and will energy prices surging, KNOT Offshore Partners is expected continuing to see high demand for shuttle tankers.</p><p>Magellan Midstream Partners (MMP)</p><p>Our final pick among MLPs is Magellan Midstream Partners, which operates a vast pipeline network. The partnership is valued at $10.4 billion and has annual revenue of $2.8 billion.</p><p>Like Enterprise Products Partners, Magellan Midstream Partners operates one of the longest pipeline systems of refined products in the country. The partnership operates 9,800 miles of pipeline and 54 terminals used in the transportation of refined products. Two storage facilities can hold 18 million barrels of product as well. The partnership also has 2,200 miles of crude oil pipeline and can store 37 million barrels. Magellan Midstream Partners connects to nearly half of the refining capacity in the U.S., giving it a size and scale that few, if any, are able to compete with.</p><p>Given the breadth of Magellan Midstream Partners’ pipeline and storage network, the partnership is able to offer customers connection between refineries and gas stations and railroads throughout much of the country. As a result, Magellan Midstream Partners’ contracts often include inflation adjusted increases in fees, which is almost certainly benefiting the partnership given the rise in inflation.</p><p>Magellan Midstream Partners has a fee-based model. Less than 10% of operating income is sensitive to energy prices, helping to insulate the partnership against downturns in the market. This could limit some upside potential, but this business model offers some stability in an industry where stability is rare.</p><p>Magellan Midstream Partners had raised its dividend 70 consecutive quarters prior to freezing it due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The partnership last raised its dividend 1% for the November 12th, 2021 payment date. The payout ratio is expected to be 80% for 2021, in-line with the average of the last five years. Leadership also has a coverage ratio target of at least 1.2. Our expected coverage ratio for 2022 of 1.25 is ahead of this target. Shares of the partnership yield 8.5%.</p><p>Final Thoughts</p><p>Investors searching for sources of high yields that are secure don’t often have too many options to choose from. Enterprise Products Partners, KNOT Offshore Partners, and Magellan Midstream Partners are three names we believe can continue to offer investors generous yields that appear safe from a dividend cut.</p><p>Each of these MLPs has competitive advantages that help separate it from the rest of the industry, leading to the generous yields that each offers. This helps to insulate the business from the ups and downs of the energy price cycle.Enterprise Products Partners is also well positioned to take advantage of the growing demand for liquefied natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas. The partnership is valued at $10.4 billion and has annual revenue of $2.8 billion.Like Enterprise Products Partners, Magellan Midstream Partners operates one of the longest pipeline systems of refined products in the country. The partnership operates 9,800 miles of pipeline and 54 terminals used in the transportation of refined products. Two storage facilities can hold 18 million barrels of product as well. The partnership also has 2,200 miles of crude oil pipeline and can store 37 million barrels. Magellan Midstream Partners connects to nearly half of the refining capacity in the U.S., giving it a size and scale that few, if any, are able to compete with.Given the breadth of Magellan Midstream Partners’ pipeline and storage network, the partnership is able to offer customers connection between refineries and gas stations and railroads throughout much of the country. As a result, Magellan Midstream Partners’ contracts often include inflation adjusted increases in fees, which is almost certainly benefiting the partnership given the rise in inflation.Magellan Midstream Partners has a fee-based model. Less than 10% of operating income is sensitive to energy prices, helping to insulate the partnership against downturns in the market. This could limit some upside potential, but this business model offers some stability in an industry where stability is rare.Magellan Midstream Partners had raised its dividend 70 consecutive quarters prior to freezing it due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Their shares rallied close to 3,000% in the months after the COVID pandemic started, with many analysts calling them the next Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA).</p><p>Comparisons like this are always going to be made with any up-and-coming EV company, but NIO stock’s seemingly unlimited resistance to gravity initially made it all the more pertinent. So too, it could be said, has the stock’s subsequent fall from the highs, and it will surely be nailed down once and for all if it can recover in the coming weeks. There’s plenty afoot with NIO that suggests its shares might be about to kick off a much-needed rally.</p><h2>Mixed Earnings</h2><p>Their Q4 earnings, released last night, gave investors and Wall Street a glimpse into the engine. Revenue for the quarter was ahead of analyst expectations and up 52% year on year, which helped to offset the slight miss on EPS. Delivery of vehicles for the fourth quarter of 2021 was up 44% compared to the same quarter the previous year, with total deliveries for 2021 up 109% compared to 2020. These are good numbers and suggest NIO’s revenue engine is building significant momentum. The timing is perfect too, with the effects of the Russian - Ukraine war on oil and gas prices causing many to think about switching permanently to an EV.</p><p>Initial indications in Friday’s pre-market session however suggested that there was some further room for shares to fall in the near term after the report. The earnings per share miss didn’t do them any favors, especially at a time when Chinese stocks are coming under intense scrutiny and investors aren’t as willing to overlook surprises to the downside. Management’s forward guidance for the first quarter of 2022 was also a little soft compared to the consensus. But for those of us on the sidelines, any further selling should be viewed as a potential buying opportunity.</p><p>It might require a tough stomach, but there are voices from the bull camp calling NIO shares a buy right now. Earlier this week, Morgan Stanley analyst Tim Hsiao reiterated his Buy rating, while trimming his price target from a stale $66 to $34. In doing so he acknowledged the “elevating macro headwinds and severe supply challenges” as near-term challenges, but feels confident that the company’s “superior liquidity and revenue visibility have it well-positioned to ride out any economic downturn.”</p><h2>Massive Upside</h2><p>His new price target suggests there’s as much upside as 50% to be had from where shares closed on Thursday which should be tempting to even the most bearish of us. In a note to clients, Hsiao pointed out that NIO has “deep enough pockets to finance its growth ambitions with the net cash position at the end of 2021 set to cover more aggressive investments this year. Management also now expects net profit to reach break-even in Q4 of 2023, which could also help alleviate the pressure on investment cash outflow.”</p><p>The team over at Citi also took a relaxed view after Thursday’s earnings miss, saying on Friday morning that they were impressed with the strong vehicle margins that NIO delivered in Q4 even as prices for raw materials soared. Investors on the hunt for a bargain could do worse than take a look at NIO now, especially in light of the current downtrend shares find themselves in. The near-term headwinds are not to be ignored, but if you’re going to get involved in an EV stock, or any new frontier stock for that matter, you have to be forward-looking and focused on the long-term potential.</p><p>Earlier this week, Deutsche Bank reiterated their Buy rating on NIO, noting that “the tide seems to be finally turning for the Chinese EV stock”. Not only NIO continues to improve its top and bottom-line performances quarter after quarter, but it’s also able to increase its Y/Y deliveries at a double-digit rate and is on track to deliver a record number of electric vehicles this year. On top of that, the launch of new models in the following years should also help the company to establish a greater presence in the ever-growing Chinese EV market. For that reason, we continue to own NIO’s shares and have no plans to unwind our position anytime soon.</p>\n<p><b>More Upside Ahead</b></p>\n<p>Founded in 2014, NIO develops three different premium electric SUVs under the names ES6, ES8, and EC6, but next year the company also plans to release an electric sedan called ET7, which will come with a solid-state battery. Thanks to the successful performance since the beginning of the pandemic, NIO became one of the dominant Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers, which helped its shares to significantly outperform the rest of the market in the last 12 months. As of today, we continue to believe that NIO’s stock is one of the most attractive Chinese-based EV plays on the market right now.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/1d218d050d6d6c3aff73b3015e2dd027\" tg-width=\"1280\" tg-height=\"443\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\"><span>Chart: Seeking Alpha</span></p>\n<p>Just last week NIO reported successful earnings results forQ2. Its revenues for the period were $1.31 billion, up 127% Y/Y, while its gross profit of $243.8 million was up 402.7% Y/Y. In addition, its vehicle margin increased to 20.3% at the end of the period, up from 9.7% a year ago. At the same time, the company’s non-GAAP EPS of -$0.07 was above the estimates by $0.04, as its net loss narrowed to $90.9 million. On top of all of this, NIO has also reached its goal of delivering nearly 22,000 vehicles during the quarter, despite the ongoing chip shortage crisis, which affected and continues to affect every automaker in the world from the beginning of this year.</p>\n<p>The positive thing about NIO is that just like Tesla(NASDAQ:TSLA), the company started selling luxury electric vehicles first, but now it’s on its way to enter the mass market and create more affordable vehicles, which will lead to an even greater growth of the business. The company expects to launch three additional models in the next couple of years, one of which will be a new sedan ET7. On top of that, the company is also expected to continue to increase the number of cars sold in the following quarters and in Q3, it expects to deliver 23,000 to 25,000 vehicles, above the previous guidance of 21,000 to 22,000 vehicles. If that goal is reached, then NIO will be able to generate $1.38 billion to $1.49 billion in revenues during the quarter, which represents a growth of 97% Y/Y to 113% Y/Y. The completion of the quarterly goal will also help NIO to reach another goal of delivering 90,000 to 100,000 vehicles this fiscal year. As for the next year, it’s also likely that NIO will deliver even more vehicles since recently it reached a deal with its manufacturer Jianghuai Automobile Group to extend the manufacturing agreement up to 2024 and increase the annual capacity to up to 240,000 vehicles. As a result, investors should expect the growth of deliveries to continue in the following years.</p>\n<p>Another advantage of NIO is that all of its business is concentrated in China, which is the largest electric vehicle market in the world. Currently, China expects that 20% of all cars sold in the country will be EVs by 2025, while there are also predictions that by 2030 70% of new cars sold in the region will be electric. As a result, it’s safe to assume that the Chinese EV market will continue to grow at a double-digit rate at least until the end of the current decade. Therefore, as the penetration rate of electric vehicles on Chinese roads increases every year, NIO, as one of the most popular EV manufacturers in the country, has all the chances to continue to establish a stronger presence and increasing its foothold in the domestic market. This will inevitably lead to the creation of additional shareholder value in the long term, especially since thanks to the help of Chinese subsidies, its cars are becoming more affordable for consumers in comparison to Tesla, which is slowly losing ground in the region and is no longer the best-selling EV manufacturer in the region.</p>\n<p>On top of all of this, the potential trade war between China and the United States is also a positive thing for NIO, since it’s very likely that Beijing will put more regulatory pressure on American businesses such as Tesla, which sees China as the second-biggest market after the US. Tesla is already under a lot of scrutiny in the region and additional pressure from the authorities could pave the way for NIO and others to take an additional market share from the foreign competitor. In addition, since NIO doesn’t have a presence in the United States, the increased hostilities between China and the US are unlikely to hurt the company.</p>\n<p>Considering all of this, NIO has everything going for it to continue to dominate the Chinese EV market and expand its foothold there. The company’s solid Q2 results and positive Q3 guidance shows that the demand for its vehicles is out there so the momentum is unlikely to fade anytime soon. For that reason, we stick to our belief that as long as deliveries continue to increase at an aggressive rate, NIO’s stock will likely be appreciating and creating additional shareholder value in the long term.</p>\n<p>While recently its shares slightly declined due to the negative market sentiment regarding Chinese stocks, we believe that the decline was a market overreaction. It’s very unlikely that NIO will be strictly regulated by the Chinese government anytime soon, as it’s in the interest of Beijing to help NIO and others become more successful in order to reach its climate goals on time and become a carbon-neutral nation by 2060. Therefore, the recent depreciation of NIO shares created a good buying opportunity for new investors.</p>\n<p>One of the biggest upsides of NIO is that its gross profit continues to increase, while losses continue to narrow with every quarter. Thanks to this, the company has all the chances to break even and become profitable in 2023. On top of that, NIO has a solid balance sheet, as it had $7.26 billion in liquidity and only $1.52 billion in long-term debt at the end of Q2, which will help it to continue to fund its growth. In addition, the company is forecasted to generate $5.62 billion in revenues in FY21, and $9.39 billion in revenues in FY22, which represents a growth of nearly 70% Y/Y. Thanks to such an expected double-digit growth of its revenues, it’s safe to say that NIO is a good growth stock to own, especially since it has an upside of ~60% from the consensus street price of $61.83 per share. Not only NIO continues to improve its top and bottom-line performances quarter after quarter, but it’s also able to increase its Y/Y deliveries at a double-digit rate and is on track to deliver a record number of electric vehicles this year. On top of that, the launch of new models in the following years should also help the company to establish a greater presence in the ever-growing Chinese EV market. For that reason, we continue to own NIO’s shares and have no plans to unwind our position anytime soon.\nMore Upside Ahead\nFounded in 2014, NIO develops three different premium electric SUVs under the names ES6, ES8, and EC6, but next year the company also plans to release an electric sedan called ET7, which will come with a solid-state battery. Thanks to the successful performance since the beginning of the pandemic, NIO became one of the dominant Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers, which helped its shares to significantly outperform the rest of the market in the last 12 months. As of today, we continue to believe that NIO’s stock is one of the most attractive Chinese-based EV plays on the market right now.\nChart: Seeking Alpha\nJust last week NIO reported successful earnings results forQ2. Its revenues for the period were $1.31 billion, up 127% Y/Y, while its gross profit of $243.8 million was up 402.7% Y/Y. In addition, its vehicle margin increased to 20.3% at the end of the period, up from 9.7% a year ago. At the same time, the company’s non-GAAP EPS of -$0.07 was above the estimates by $0.04, as its net loss narrowed to $90.9 million. On top of all of this, NIO has also reached its goal of delivering nearly 22,000 vehicles during the quarter, despite the ongoing chip shortage crisis, which affected and continues to affect every automaker in the world from the beginning of this year.\nThe positive thing about NIO is that just like Tesla(NASDAQ:TSLA), the company started selling luxury electric vehicles first, but now it’s on its way to enter the mass market and create more affordable vehicles, which will lead to an even greater growth of the business. The company expects to launch three additional models in the next couple of years, one of which will be a new sedan ET7. On top of that, the company is also expected to continue to increase the number of cars sold in the following quarters and in Q3, it expects to deliver 23,000 to 25,000 vehicles, above the previous guidance of 21,000 to 22,000 vehicles. If that goal is reached, then NIO will be able to generate $1.38 billion to $1.49 billion in revenues during the quarter, which represents a growth of 97% Y/Y to 113% Y/Y. The completion of the quarterly goal will also help NIO to reach another goal of delivering 90,000 to 100,000 vehicles this fiscal year. As for the next year, it’s also likely that NIO will deliver even more vehicles since recently it reached a deal with its manufacturer Jianghuai Automobile Group to extend the manufacturing agreement up to 2024 and increase the annual capacity to up to 240,000 vehicles. As a result, investors should expect the growth of deliveries to continue in the following years.\nAnother advantage of NIO is that all of its business is concentrated in China, which is the largest electric vehicle market in the world. Currently, China expects that 20% of all cars sold in the country will be EVs by 2025, while there are also predictions that by 2030 70% of new cars sold in the region will be electric. As a result, it’s safe to assume that the Chinese EV market will continue to grow at a double-digit rate at least until the end of the current decade. Therefore, as the penetration rate of electric vehicles on Chinese roads increases every year, NIO, as one of the most popular EV manufacturers in the country, has all the chances to continue to establish a stronger presence and increasing its foothold in the domestic market. This will inevitably lead to the creation of additional shareholder value in the long term, especially since thanks to the help of Chinese subsidies, its cars are becoming more affordable for consumers in comparison to Tesla, which is slowly losing ground in the region and is no longer the best-selling EV manufacturer in the region.\nOn top of all of this, the potential trade war between China and the United States is also a positive thing for NIO, since it’s very likely that Beijing will put more regulatory pressure on American businesses such as Tesla, which sees China as the second-biggest market after the US. Tesla is already under a lot of scrutiny in the region and additional pressure from the authorities could pave the way for NIO and others to take an additional market share from the foreign competitor. In addition, since NIO doesn’t have a presence in the United States, the increased hostilities between China and the US are unlikely to hurt the company.\nConsidering all of this, NIO has everything going for it to continue to dominate the Chinese EV market and expand its foothold there. The company’s solid Q2 results and positive Q3 guidance shows that the demand for its vehicles is out there so the momentum is unlikely to fade anytime soon. For that reason, we stick to our belief that as long as deliveries continue to increase at an aggressive rate, NIO’s stock will likely be appreciating and creating additional shareholder value in the long term.\nWhile recently its shares slightly declined due to the negative market sentiment regarding Chinese stocks, we believe that the decline was a market overreaction. It’s very unlikely that NIO will be strictly regulated by the Chinese government anytime soon, as it’s in the interest of Beijing to help NIO and others become more successful in order to reach its climate goals on time and become a carbon-neutral nation by 2060. Therefore, the recent depreciation of NIO shares created a good buying opportunity for new investors.\nOne of the biggest upsides of NIO is that its gross profit continues to increase, while losses continue to narrow with every quarter. Thanks to this, the company has all the chances to break even and become profitable in 2023. On top of that, NIO has a solid balance sheet, as it had $7.26 billion in liquidity and only $1.52 billion in long-term debt at the end of Q2, which will help it to continue to fund its growth. In addition, the company is forecasted to generate $5.62 billion in revenues in FY21, and $9.39 billion in revenues in FY22, which represents a growth of nearly 70% Y/Y. Thanks to such an expected double-digit growth of its revenues, it’s safe to say that NIO is a good growth stock to own, especially since it has an upside of ~60% from the consensus street price of $61.83 per share.
