I just didn’t figure it was adding to the experience,” Buffett, 90, said in an interview with CNBC that aired Tuesday. “I find the telephone a very satisfactory instrument.”
\n
Munger, on the other hand, uses the service three times a day. “I think Zoom is here to stay,” Munger said. “It just adds so much convenience.”
\n
“Well, particularly, if you’re 97,” Buffett quipped, referring to Munger’s age.
\n
In an interview with CNBC filmed from Munger’s backyard in Los Angeles after Berkshire Hathaway’s annual meeting in May, the pair also discussed the uneven impact of the pandemic on small businesses, their negative views of trading platform Robinhood, and the dangers of excessive margin.
\n
On the impact of the pandemic, Buffett said: “I don’t know how many but many hundreds of thousands or millions of small businesses have been hurt in a terrible way. But most of the big, big companies have overwhelmingly done fine unless they happen to be in cruise lines or hotels or something.”
\n
Munger said he believes a lot of business travel, among other things, won’t come back following the pandemic. “A lot of people have found they don’t need to be [in an office]. I think all kinds of things are going to happen that we don’t go back to what we did before.”
\n
“Some people did better than [the U.S.],” Munger added, referring to China’s aggressive response to the virus and subsequent recovery. “They didn’t allow any contact. You picked up your groceries in a box in the apartment and that’s all the contact you had with anybody for six weeks. And, when it was all over, they kind of went back to work. It happened they did it exactly right.”
\n
Much of the special was biographical, with Buffett and Munger reflecting on their first meeting and how their friendship-at-first-sight evolved into a decadeslong venture transforming the Berkshire Hathaway textile company into one of the world’s largest conglomerates.
\n
Asked about Robinhood, Munger called the stock trading app “a gambling parlor masquerading as a respectable business.”
\n
“[Robinhood] is not encouraging people to buy a very, very, very low-cost index fund and hold it for 50 years,” Buffett said. “I will guarantee you that you will not walk in there, get that advice. Instead, you’ll get advice on how you can trade options.”
\n
Munger also suggested apps like Robinhood aren’t commission-free because the real costs—namely the process of payment for order flow—are hidden.
\n
“It’s basically a sleazy, disreputable operation,” Munger said. “And the interesting thing about it is that some good people you would be glad to have marry into your family have backed it.”
\n
Reached for comment, a Robinhood spokesperson referredBarron’sto a May 3 statement from when Munger and Buffett previously criticized the app. “Robinhood has made investing simpler and more accessible to more people — and the public has responded. We are proud of that fact,” Jacqueline Ortiz Ramsay, head of public policy communications at Robinhood, wrote at the time.
\n
Regarding the blow-up of hedge fund Archegos Capital that resulted in market volatility and major losses at several banks earlier this year, Munger called for more strict margin requirements.
\n
“The people who are making money out of this unreasonable extension of credit argue for it, and nobody’s speaking against it,” Munger said. “And last time around, we got the correct regulation that came and stayed for a long time on margin debt only because we had the worst depression in the history of the English-speaking world. That’s what it took to get a little sense into the politicians.”
","source":"lsy1601382232898","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Buffett and Munger Talk Zoom, Robinhood, and Lessons From the Pandemic
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nBuffett and Munger Talk Zoom, Robinhood, and Lessons From the Pandemic\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-30 17:04 GMT+8 Barrons\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Unlike his longtime friend and business partner Charlie Munger,Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett isn’t a huge fan of Zoom meetings.\n“I did it once or twice, and they had a whole screen of people. ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"ZM":"Zoom","BRK.B":"伯克希尔B","BRK.A":"伯克希尔"},"source_url":"https://www.barrons.com/articles/buffett-munger-zoom-robinhood-pandemic-51625020162?mod=hp_LEADSUPP_2","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1145186822","content_text":"Unlike his longtime friend and business partner Charlie Munger,Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett isn’t a huge fan of Zoom meetings.\n“I did it once or twice, and they had a whole screen of people. Even the addition of pro wrestler-turned-movie star John Cena to the franchise didn’t spook the shorts as AMC’s short interest remained at 29.87%, identical to Friday.
\n
Pleased to see AMC short sellers — those betting for a fall in value of the company’s shares — right where they claim to want them, one individual investor indulged in film criticism of “F9” to lay out their case for AMC’s “#hotstocksummer.”
\n
“Just imagine what would have happened if it was actually a good movie too,” mused Data_Dealer, speculating that the return of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the knockout punch: “Black Widow should do record numbers period, not record COVID numbers.”
\n
AMC’s spiritual meme twin also had a positive day. GameStop shares closed up on the day despite a decision from Baird to cease coverage, with analyst Colin Sebastianwriting in a notethat the company’s lack of a clear plan and lack of fundamental impetus have made it too difficult for him to give “a reasonable stock rating recommendation to institutional investors.”
\n
Meanwhile, like a lonely 20-something with a hankering for blue drinks, Buffalo wings and a nasty Big Buck Hunter addiction, retail investors also were obsessing over Dave & Buster’s…or at least someone wanted it to look that way.
\n
Shares in the sports bar-cum-video arcade restaurant chain were a very hot topic on Reddit boards Monday, with mentions of the ticker symbol PLAY soaring 26,700% according to HypeEquity, and trading volume had already exceeded its daily average two hours before the closing bell.
\n
But even with that action, Dave & Buster’s stock ended 0.7% lower. This comes as Reddit arguments touting the chain as a cheap re-opening trade target were met with skepticism by users who saw the sudden burst of interest asevidence of a possible pump-and-dump scheme, rather than a bona fide meme-inspired gambit.
\n
There was no real news around the restaurant chain on Monday, and short interest on the stock remained minimal. Additionally, the flurry of Reddit posts promoting the stock appeared on multiple subreddits, creating what appeared to be a false surge in popularity.
\n
Backing up that skepticism was the fact that two of the top five keywords associated with Dave & Buster’s posts were “Pump” and “Dump.”
\n
“Getting kinda bored with the fake management shilling has-been stocks, just for a little more pump before they dump,” complained TheColorlessPill on Reddit. “Just more evidence that [WallStreetBets] has been bought out.”
","source":"market_watch","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; Even the addition of pro wrestler-turned-movie star John Cena to the franchise didn’t spook the shorts as AMC’s short interest remained at 29.87%, identical to Friday.\nPleased to see AMC short sellers — those betting for a fall in value of the company’s shares — right where they claim to want them, one individual investor indulged in film criticism of “F9” to lay out their case for AMC’s “#hotstocksummer.”\n“Just imagine what would have happened if it was actually a good movie too,” mused Data_Dealer, speculating that the return of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the knockout punch: “Black Widow should do record numbers period, not record COVID numbers.”\nAMC’s spiritual meme twin also had a positive day. GameStop shares closed up on the day despite a decision from Baird to cease coverage, with analyst Colin Sebastianwriting in a notethat the company’s lack of a clear plan and lack of fundamental impetus have made it too difficult for him to give “a reasonable stock rating recommendation to institutional investors.”\nMeanwhile, like a lonely 20-something with a hankering for blue drinks, Buffalo wings and a nasty Big Buck Hunter addiction, retail investors also were obsessing over Dave & Buster’s…or at least someone wanted it to look that way.\nShares in the sports bar-cum-video arcade restaurant chain were a very hot topic on Reddit boards Monday, with mentions of the ticker symbol PLAY soaring 26,700% according to HypeEquity, and trading volume had already exceeded its daily average two hours before the closing bell.\nBut even with that action, Dave & Buster’s stock ended 0.7% lower. This comes as Reddit arguments touting the chain as a cheap re-opening trade target were met with skepticism by users who saw the sudden burst of interest asevidence of a possible pump-and-dump scheme, rather than a bona fide meme-inspired gambit.\nThere was no real news around the restaurant chain on Monday, and short interest on the stock remained minimal. Additionally, the flurry of Reddit posts promoting the stock appeared on multiple subreddits, creating what appeared to be a false surge in popularity.\nBacking up that skepticism was the fact that two of the top five keywords associated with Dave & Buster’s posts were “Pump” and “Dump.”\n“Getting kinda bored with the fake management shilling has-been stocks, just for a little more pump before they dump,” complained TheColorlessPill on Reddit. “Just more evidence that [WallStreetBets] has been bought out.”","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":176,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":187565503,"gmtCreate":1623759471802,"gmtModify":1703818357571,"author":{"id":"3574053876431300","authorId":"3574053876431300","name":"Poor","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/16b3854a9f161e928c672fd4857edd41","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3574053876431300","idStr":"3574053876431300"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"good!","listText":"good!","text":"good!","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/187565503","repostId":"1127660571","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1127660571","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1623760680,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1127660571?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-15 20:38","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Toplines Before US Market Open on Tuesday","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1127660571","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"Stock futures edge up ahead of retail sales data.\nS&P 500 index is headed toward its 30th record clo","content":"
\n
Stock futures edge up ahead of retail sales data.
\n
S&P 500 index is headed toward its 30th record close of the year, bolstered by gains in tech stocks.
\n
Increase in in PPI over past 12 months rises to 6.6% from 6.2%.
\n
U.S. retail sales minus gas and autos fall 0.8% in May.
\n
U.S. retail sales minus gas and autos fall 0.8% in May.
\n
\n
(June 15) Producer prices climb 6.6% in May on annual basis, largest 12-month increase on record. Producer prices rose at their fastest annual clip in nearly 11 years in May as inflation continued to build in the U.S. economy, the Labor Department reported Tuesday.
\n
On a monthly basis, the producer price index for final demand rose 0.8%, ahead of the Dow Jones estimate of 0.6%.
\n
Stock Market
\n
U.S. stock futures edged higher Tuesday ahead of fresh data that will indicate how much Americans spent in stores, at restaurants and online last month.
\n
Futures tied to the S&P 500 ticked up 0.1%, indicating that the broad benchmark index is on track to notch its thirtieth record close of the year. To do this, let's compare the revenue growth trends of the key segments of the company with and without the results of the last four quarters.

The dynamics of the 'Online Stores' segment showed a qualitative breakthrough. Without taking into account the last four quarters, a near-linear trend was observed here. But I think this is not even a basic scenario, but a pessimistic scenario.I present my comprehensive Amazon (AMZN) analysis in light of the results of the last quarter.#1 Price vs. GrowthFirst of all, let's assess whether we can statistically state that Amazon's growth has accelerated or slowed down in the last quarter. To do this, let's compare the revenue growth trends of the key segments of the company with and without the results of the last four quarters. The dynamics of the 'Online Stores' segment showed a qualitative breakthrough. Without taking into account the last four quarters, a near-linear trend was observed here. Now, it has become exponential:Source: VisualizedAnalytics.comThe 'Third-Party Seller Services' segment - the exponential growth continues:Source: VisualizedAnalytics.comThe 'Subscription Services' (Amazon Prime) segment - here the acceleration remains, and the result of the last quarter was better than the trend:Source: VisualizedAnalytics.comThe 'Other' (advertising services) segment has also showed a significant acceleration:Source: VisualizedAnalytics.comThe growth trend of 'Amazon Web Services' has slowed down, but judging by the results of the last quarter, there is a gradual return to the previous trend:Source: VisualizedAnalytics.comGeographically, Amazon's revenue was also significantly better than the trend:Source: VisualizedAnalytics.comSo, statistically, not subjectively, we should recognize the acceleration of the company's growthin all key segments. In my opinion, this is exactly what is expected from Amazon.Further. Over the last 10 years, Amazon's capitalization has been in a qualitative linear relationship with its revenue:Source: VisualizedAnalytics.comThere is also a certain influence of the company's revenue growth rate on its multiples:Source: VisualizedAnalytics.comBased on these two relationships and taking into account the influence of the growth of theM2 money stockin the US, it is possible to build another model that allows us to determine the balanced level of the company's capitalization. In addition, this model allows to model the growth of the company's capitalization based on the current expectations of analysts regarding the company's revenue growth in the next four quarters. Here is this model:Source: VisualizedAnalytics.comAs you can see, firstly, this model indicates that the company's current price is alreadybelow the balanced level. And secondly, it assumes a25% growthin capitalization in the next four quarters.#2 Comparative ValuationIn the previous block, I modeled Amazon's balanced price based on revenue. What is remarkable is that if we apply the same approach to the comparative valuation of the company using multiples, we will fail. At least I have not been able to find a single revenue-based multiple that would make it possible to successfully compare Amazon to other companies. But the forward P/E (next FY) multiple adjusted by the expected EPS annual growth rate made it possible to find a suitable model:Source: VisualizedAnalytics.comAs you can see, judging by this multiple, Amazon is significantly undervalued.#3 Discounted Cash Flow ModelWhen predicting Amazon's revenue for the next decade, I proceeded from the average expectations ofanalysts:Source: Seeking Alpha ProWhen predicting the dynamics of Amazon's operating margin, I also proceeded from analysts'expectationsregarding the growth of the company's EPS, and taking into account the gradual increase in the tax rate to 25%. In my opinion, a gradual increase in the operating margin to 8% in the terminal year is a very realistic scenario. Here is the calculation of the Weighted Average Cost of Capital:Source: AuthorSome explanations:In order to calculate the market rate of return, I used values of equityriskpremium (4.72%) and the current yield of UST10 as a risk-free rate (1.6%).I used the currentvalueof the three-year beta coefficient (0.92). For the terminal year, I used Beta equal to 1.To calculate the Cost of Debt, I used the interest expense for 2019 and 2020 divided by the debt value for the same years. Here is the model itself:(In high resolution)Source: AuthorThe DCF-based target price of Amazon's shares is $4,280, offering 29% upside.Final thoughtsAmazon is one of the companies whose growth has not yet reached its limit and not even entered the plateau phase. In a sense, this is a startup with $73 billion cash. The fact that Amazon remains in the acceleration phase does not mean that its capitalization is constantly undervalued. But in this case, based on the patterns between the company's capitalization and the parameters of its revenue, we can conclude that the company isundervalued.Comparing Amazon to other companies through the prism of expected EPS growth, it must be admitted that the company ismuch cheaperthan the market.DCF model based on average expectations analysts indicate a 30% undervaluation. At the start of the year, a similarmodelindicated a 20% undervaluation. When you look at Amazon's revenue forecast for the next decade, you realize that the company will face growth problems. But in my opinion,it is better to invest in a company facing growth problems than aging problems.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":286,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":159387243,"gmtCreate":1624941928482,"gmtModify":1703848492676,"author":{"id":"3574053876431300","authorId":"3574053876431300","name":"Poor","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/16b3854a9f161e928c672fd4857edd41","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3574053876431300","authorIdStr":"3574053876431300"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"shiok","listText":"shiok","text":"shiok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/159387243","repostId":"1166488790","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1166488790","pubTimestamp":1624933653,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1166488790?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-29 10:27","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Vin Diesel helps supercharge AMC stock, while Dave & Buster’s rising social-media mentions raise eyebrows among those fearing scam","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1166488790","media":"Marketwatch","summary":"AMC Entertainment’s shares on Monday were too fast and too furious for short sellers, while Dave & B","content":"
AMC Entertainment’s shares on Monday were too fast and too furious for short sellers, while Dave & Buster’s stock mentions on community-investing platforms elicited some skepticism.
\n
“F9,” The ninth installment of Vin Diesel’s “Fast & Furious” franchise, pulled down $70 million over its opening weekendafter opting for a theater-only release, potentially marking a major turning point for a film industry that turned to a streaming model during the ravages of the COVID pandemic.
\n
It has been hard to find any group of investors more thrilled by the continuing financial success of the movie franchise, led by fictional heroDom Torettoand his merry group of Corona-drinking street racers, than retail investors committed to holding shares of AMC.
\n
The Diesel-powered, “F9″ weekend box office helped AMC shares climb as high as 9% Monday, before the stock gave back some of those gains, as investors used the stellar ticket sales as evidence that the reported death of movie theaters has been greatly exaggerated.
\n
“What a weekend for the big screen!” Adam Aron, the increasingly social-media-savvy chief executive of AMC,tweeted Monday morning.
\n
Aron’s tweet, to which he attached an image of an “F9” poster featuring the films’s star-studded cast, went on to credit “F9”s “gangbuster opening” with bringing 2 million Americans into AMC’s theaters over the weekend, and 2.5 million globally.
\n
“Both RECORD NUMBERS since re-opening our theatres,” Aron declared.
\n
Aron, who has made a habit of engaging directly with AMC’s individual-investor fan base, offering free popcorn and other perksto AMC HODLers, aka long-term holders, definitely got a response from the Reddit crowd.
\n
“I did a Capitalism,” responded Rhino57 to a post of Aron’s tweet on Reddit board AMCStock. “I went and supported AMC this weekend after market close on Friday and got the biggest tub of popcorn they had!”
\n
While Aron’s tweet also elicited some complaints that a resurgent summer box office should delay hisplan to sell 25 million new shares, Redditors would be pleased to see that “F9”s success had little effect on short sellers.
\n
According to Fintel data, the stock remains in the top 200 short-squeeze targets of the almost 9,000 companies tracked by the site. “Just more evidence that [WallStreetBets] has been bought out.”","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":176,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":187565503,"gmtCreate":1623759471802,"gmtModify":1703818357571,"author":{"id":"3574053876431300","authorId":"3574053876431300","name":"Poor","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/16b3854a9f161e928c672fd4857edd41","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3574053876431300","authorIdStr":"3574053876431300"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"good!","listText":"good!","text":"good!","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/187565503","repostId":"1127660571","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1127660571","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1623760680,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1127660571?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-15 20:38","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Toplines Before US Market Open on Tuesday","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1127660571","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"Stock futures edge up ahead of retail sales data.\nS&P 500 index is headed toward its 30th record clo","content":"
Even though certain assets or commodities, such as gold and housing, have had short periods when they've outperformed equities, stocks have delivered the greatest and most consistent long-term returns.

Then cryptocurrencies came along about a decade ago and completely turned this thesis on its head. Bitcoin, the largest digital currency in the world by market cap, could once be purchased for less than $1 per token. This past weekend, each Bitcoin would set you back around $58,000. That's an insane return in just over a decade.

Unfortunately, this mountain of momentum that's built up in the crypto space has also given rise to some truly awful digital currencies. Dogecoin (CRYPTO:DOGE) is the perfect example.

The Dogecoin bull thesis can be easily debunked

Peruse any of the popular social media boards (Reddit or Twitter), and you'll get no shortage of reasons why Dogecoin is the greatest possible crypto to buy now. Enthusiasts often cite its lower transaction fees relative to Bitcoin and Ethereum (the No. 1 and 2 in terms of crypto market cap), improving adoption by retailers, and its community as reasons for its current and future success. Unfortunately, every \"catalyst\" for Dogecoin can be very easily debunked.

For example, Dogecoin does indeed have lower transaction fees than Bitcoin and Ethereum, but they're far from the lowest. While we're on the subject of cherry-picking comparison data, Nano, Ripple, Stellar, Dash, and Litecoin are just some of the cryptos that offer lower transaction fees. Nano, Ripple, Stellar, and Dash also validate and settle transactions faster than Dogecoin. In an arena where the barrier to entry is virtually nonexistent, Dogecoin offers no true competitive advantage on fees or transaction speed.

As for adoption, online business directory Cryptwerk suggests that around 1,300 companies accept Dogecoin. Nearly all of these businesses are obscure, and Dogecoin has had eight years to develop a following. Managing to be accepted by 1,300 businesses when well over 500 million companies exist worldwide isn't exactly game-changing utility.

Lastly, the community aspect looks to be built on hype. Without anything tangible to drive Dogecoin's valuation, most \"hodlers\" are waiting on the edge of their seats hoping Tesla's CEO Elon Musk will mention Dogecoin in a tweet or say its name on an upcoming episode of Saturday Night Live, which he's hosting on May 8. These aren't tangible catalysts. They're the signs of a pump-and-dump asset.

This trio of stocks would be a much smarter way to put your money to work

Instead of potentially throwing your money away on a digital currency that was created as a joke in 2013, consider putting it to work in the following trio of infinitely smarter stocks.Image source: Getty Images.

Sea Limited

If growth, growth, and more growth is your thing, you're going to love Singapore-based Sea Limited (NYSE:SE). Sea is a bit of a conglomerate in that it has three exceptionally fast-growing operating segments.

For the time being, the greatest driver of adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) is the company's digital entertainment division. This segment, which focuses on mobile gaming, had more than 610 million active users in the fourth quarter, 73.1 million of whom were paying customers. With people stuck in their homes in 2020 due to the pandemic, gaming was a form of release and entertainment. As a result, the company's paying customers grew by 120%.

Arguably the more important operating segment is e-commerce. Sea's online Shopee platform has consistently been the most popular e-commerce download in Southeast Asia. The combination of people staying home and desiring the convenience of ordering goods online has sent Shopee's growth trajectory into the stratosphere. The amount of gross merchandise value transacted on its network doubled last year to $35.4 billion, with gross orders rising 133% to 2.8 billion. With Shopee making inroads in South America as well, it has aspirations of becoming Amazon 2.0.

Third, Sea offers digital financial services to largely underbanked countries and communities. Even if President Joe Biden and his administration fail to pass any cannabis reforms at the federal level, state-level legalizations are providing more than enough growth potential for U.S. multistate operators. That's why Trulieve Cannabis (OTC:TCNNF) could run circles around Dogecoin.

What allows Trulieve Cannabis to stand out from an increasingly crowded field of marijuana companies is its laser focus on a single state. A little over two weeks ago, the company opened its 85th and 86th dispensaries nationwide. By piling into Florida, it's been able to effectively build up its brand without having to break the bank with marketing costs. Trulieve ended 2020 with a 53% share of the state's dried cannabis market and a 49% share of its oils market. It's worth pointing out that oils are a much higher-margin product and less susceptible to oversupply than dried cannabis.

Furthermore, Trulieve was profitable long before its peers. It's generated a profit for 12 consecutive quarters and should be profitable on a recurring basis moving forward. Big military contract wins helped propel full-year sales for the company higher by 45%. But over the long run, Foundry offers more potential. Palantir has only scratched the surface of its potential customer pool for Foundry, and ended 2020 with 24 customers in the Global 300. There's work to be done to gain additional enterprise customers, but there's also a long runway of double-digit growth opportunity.

The thing to understand about Palantir Technologies' artificial-intelligence-driven platforms is that there's simply nothing else like them. That's an insane return in just over a decade.Unfortunately, this mountain of momentum that's built up in the crypto space has also given rise to some truly awful digital currencies. Dogecoin (CRYPTO:DOGE) is the perfect example.Image source: Getty Images. The Dogecoin bull thesis can be easily debunkedPeruse any of the popular social media boards (Reddit or Twitter), and you'll get no shortage of reasons why Dogecoin is the greatest possible crypto to buy now. Managing to be accepted by 1,300 businesses when well over 500 million companies exist worldwide isn't exactly game-changing utility.Lastly, the community aspect looks to be built on hype.
I just didn’t figure it was adding to the experience,” Buffett, 90, said in an interview with CNBC that aired Tuesday. “I find the telephone a very satisfactory instrument.”\nMunger, on the other hand, uses the service three times a day. “I think Zoom is here to stay,” Munger said. “It just adds so much convenience.”\n“Well, particularly, if you’re 97,” Buffett quipped, referring to Munger’s age.\nIn an interview with CNBC filmed from Munger’s backyard in Los Angeles after Berkshire Hathaway’s annual meeting in May, the pair also discussed the uneven impact of the pandemic on small businesses, their negative views of trading platform Robinhood, and the dangers of excessive margin.\nOn the impact of the pandemic, Buffett said: “I don’t know how many but many hundreds of thousands or millions of small businesses have been hurt in a terrible way. But most of the big, big companies have overwhelmingly done fine unless they happen to be in cruise lines or hotels or something.”\nMunger said he believes a lot of business travel, among other things, won’t come back following the pandemic. “A lot of people have found they don’t need to be [in an office]. I think all kinds of things are going to happen that we don’t go back to what we did before.”\n“Some people did better than [the U.S.],” Munger added, referring to China’s aggressive response to the virus and subsequent recovery. “They didn’t allow any contact. You picked up your groceries in a box in the apartment and that’s all the contact you had with anybody for six weeks. And, when it was all over, they kind of went back to work. It happened they did it exactly right.”\nMuch of the special was biographical, with Buffett and Munger reflecting on their first meeting and how their friendship-at-first-sight evolved into a decadeslong venture transforming the Berkshire Hathaway textile company into one of the world’s largest conglomerates.\nAsked about Robinhood, Munger called the stock trading app “a gambling parlor masquerading as a respectable business.”\n“[Robinhood] is not encouraging people to buy a very, very, very low-cost index fund and hold it for 50 years,” Buffett said. “I will guarantee you that you will not walk in there, get that advice. Instead, you’ll get advice on how you can trade options.”\nMunger also suggested apps like Robinhood aren’t commission-free because the real costs—namely the process of payment for order flow—are hidden.\n“It’s basically a sleazy, disreputable operation,” Munger said. “And the interesting thing about it is that some good people you would be glad to have marry into your family have backed it.”\nReached for comment, a Robinhood spokesperson referredBarron’sto a May 3 statement from when Munger and Buffett previously criticized the app. “Robinhood has made investing simpler and more accessible to more people — and the public has responded.
