Or will AMD's and Intel's fortunes turn around in the second half of the year, making them potentially better buys than the richly valued NVIDIA? Let's find out.
\n
NVIDIA: Benefitting from long-term growth catalysts
\n
It is safe to say that NVIDIA is firing on all cylinders, as almost all the company's business segments registered eye-popping growth in the first quarter of fiscal 2022. Barring the automotive business, which saw a 1% revenue decline, the gaming, data center, professional visualization, and OEM (original equipment manufacturer) segments recorded varying degrees of impressive growth during the quarter.
\n
As a result, NVIDIA's total Q1 revenue jumped 84% year over year to $5.66 billion, while non-GAAP earnings more than doubled to $3.66 per share. The company's guidance was also a solid one, with its estimated second-quarter revenue of $6.3 billion expected to increase nearly 63% year over year at the midpoint of its guidance range.
\n
\n
NVIDIA can sustain such high rates of growth beyond 2021 as the data center and gaming markets, which account for nearly 85% of the total revenue, are sitting on long-term catalysts. The data center segment's revenue hit $2 billion for the first time last quarter, recording 79% growth over the year-ago period. NVIDIA credits the segment's outstanding growth to strong demand from hyperscale customers deploying its GPUs (graphics processing units) for artificial intelligence (AI) applications.
\n
NVIDIA says that its data center GPUs are \"deployed across all major hyperscale and cloud service providers globally and we see strengthening demand in the coming quarters.\" That's not surprising, as the demand for data center GPUs could grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 42% through 2027, hitting $20.6 billion in revenue. NVIDIA is in a solid position to tap this opportunity, as it supplies its GPUs to the top cloud service providers and has been taking steps to diversify its revenue streams.
\n
Meanwhile, NVIDIA's 80%-plus market share of gaming graphics cards will be another big tailwind for the company. Its video gaming revenue more than doubled last quarter to $2.76 billion. Jon Peddie Research estimates that the market for discrete gaming GPUs could jump from $23.6 billion last year to more than $54 billion by 2025. NVIDIA's dominant market share means that it could win big from the additional revenue opportunity.
\n
Advanced Micro Devices: Widening its gap over Intel
\n
AMD stock's retreat on the market isn't justified, as the chipmaker's impressive financial growth has continued this year after a strong 2020. AMD is on track to record 50% revenue growth in 2021, though it can do better as it was originally anticipating a 37% increase when the year began. The company's market share gains in the client and server CPU (central processing unit) markets, as well as the growing demand for graphics cards, have encouraged it to raise the guidance.
\n
However, AMD can finish the year on a much stronger note, as it recorded 93% year-over-year revenue growth in Q1 to $3.4 billion, which was ahead of the market's expectations. The company is pulling the right strings to ensure that it sustains its high levels of growth, such as consistently winning market share from Intel.
\n
Popular video game distribution platform Steam reports that AMD's share of the client CPU market has now exceeded 30%, a massive improvement from three years ago when it held just over 16% of the market. AMD's gains have been driven by a superior manufacturing process based on a 7-nanometer manufacturing node, while Intel's competing chips are expected to be out later this year.
\n
But AMD seems all set to widen the gap over Chipzilla, as the former's foundry partner Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing is working on smaller 5nm and 6nm nodes. Such a move is likely to give AMD's Ryzen CPUs another performance boost and ensure that they continue to sell like hotcakes.
\n
On the other hand, the massive increase in sales of gaming graphics cards, as discussed earlier, will also be a tailwind for AMD. That's because AMD plays second fiddle to NVIDIA in the GPU market, and the additional revenue opportunity over there could substantially add to its revenue in the long run. Throw in other catalysts such as the new console cycle that's giving AMD a significant lift, and it becomes easier to see why the company's fast growth is here to stay.
\n
Intel: Trouble regaining its mojo
\n
Unlike its rivals, Intel is in a rut. The chip giant has been unable to regain its mojo since losing its competitive edge. That was evident from Intel's Q1 results, as non-GAAP revenue of $18.6 billion was flat on a year-over-year basis. Gross margin shrank 6.1 percentage points year over year while operating margin fell 6.7 percentage points. As a result, Intel's net income was down 6% over the year-ago period.
\n
Things are about to get worse for Intel in the second quarter. Revenue and adjusted earnings are expected to drop 10% and 15% year over year, respectively, while full-year non-GAAP revenue is anticipated to drop 7% to $72.5 billion. So, Intel's poor financial performance and outlook put it behind the likes of NVIDIA and AMD, which are delivering irresistible growth. As such, growth-oriented investors may drop Chipzilla from their watchlist of stocks to buy.
\n
The verdict
\n
With Intel out of the race, investors looking to buy a fast-growing semiconductor stock can choose either NVIDIA or AMD. From a valuation standpoint, AMD looks like the better buy as it trades at 36 times trailing earnings, compared to NVIDIA's multiple of nearly 90 times. AMD's price-to-sales ratio of nine is also much lower than NVIDIA's multiple of nearly 25 times.
\n
Given that AMD's pace of growth was better than NVIDIA's in Q1 and is likely to keep up that momentum for the remainder of the year, it looks like a steal right now. AMD also looks like a better buy for those looking for a growth stock at a reasonable valuation. However, investors with a higher appetite for risk may also consider buying NVIDIA, as it can remain a top growth stock and justify its rich valuation by delivering terrific growth thanks to huge end-market opportunities.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel: Which Is the Best Chip Stock to Buy Right Now?
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nNVIDIA, AMD, or Intel: Which Is the Best Chip Stock to Buy Right Now?\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-30 15:43 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
The PHLX Semiconductor Sector Index has generated solid gains so far this year, despite the chip shortage and the sell-off in tech stocks earlier in 2021. AMD also looks like a better buy for those looking for a growth stock at a reasonable valuation. However, investors with a higher appetite for risk may also consider buying NVIDIA, as it can remain a top growth stock and justify its rich valuation by delivering terrific growth thanks to huge end-market opportunities.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":236,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":153499796,"gmtCreate":1625040746115,"gmtModify":1703850705739,"author":{"id":"3574139357676553","authorId":"3574139357676553","name":"LuminaryAurora","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/f6630b7aecb7602f7812d452e4c26f16","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3574139357676553","idStr":"3574139357676553"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Read","listText":"Read","text":"Read","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/153499796","repostId":"1168521489","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1168521489","pubTimestamp":1625039491,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1168521489?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-30 15:51","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Breaking down the trillion-dollar club now that Facebook is a member. The stock’s jump pushed the social media company’s market value above $1 trillion.\nCNBC Pro screened for what Wall Street analysts expect for the five companies over the next year. Based on average 12-month price targets, Amazon is expected to rally the most with an average upside of 24%, which would bring the e-commerce giant’s market valuation to $2.22 trillion in the next year, according to FactSet.\nAmazon is forecast to nearly eclipse software giant Microsoft, which is expected to be worth $2.27 trillion a year from now.\n\nAmazon — a major beneficiary of the pandemic — saw its sales surge 44% in the first quarter. Earnings and revenue also blew past analyst estimates.\n“We believe Amazon is well positioned as the market leader in e-commerce and public cloud, where the secular shifts remain early,” JPMorgan equity analyst Doug Anmuth told clients in a recent note. “We believe Amazon’s flexibility in pushing first-party vs. third- party inventory and its Prime offering both serve as major advantages in its retail business, and its multi-year head starting the cloud has led to a 40%+ AWS global market share.”\nAnmuth also said Amazon is starting to show more profit, with its high-growing AWS and Advertising revenue streams also its most profitable.\nWall Street sees Apple keeping the No. 1 spot and gaining nearly 17% in the next 12 months, which would bring the Tim Cook-led tech giant to a market capitalization of $2.67 trillion.\nApple reported a blowout first quarter, announcing company wide sales up 54% higher than last year, and posting significantly stronger profits than Wall Street expected.\nLast week, Morgan Stanley’s Apple analyst Katy Huberty — Institutional Investor’s No. 1 ranked analyst in 2020 for technology hardware — said Apple is a great long-term buying opportunity at its current level.\n“We believe the current valuation presents a good long-term buying opportunity,” said Huberty, who has an outperform rating on Apple.\n$2 trillion for Google?\nGoogle-parent Alphabet is forecast to rally nearly 14% in the next 12 months to a market capitalization of nearly $2 trillion.\n“We see Alphabet as one of the tech industry’s leaders, along with Facebook, Apple, Amazon, and Microsoft,” Argus analyst Joseph Bonner told clients. “These companies have come to dominate new developments in mobile, public cloud, and big data analytics, as well as emerging areas such as artificial intelligence and virtual/augmented reality.”\nBonner said that although Alphabet is facing antitrust investigations in the U.S. and internationally, the cases will take years to play out in court and could be difficult to prove. New legislation, while a threat, may also face difficulty in a divided U.S. Congress, according to Argus.\nMost notably, Google is quickly recovering from a Covid-19-induced advertising slump. Alphabet easily topped expectations for earnings and revenue in the first quarter, and YouTube’s advertising business was strong.\n“We see continued momentum as e-commerce and digital advertising have burgeoned with economic recovery,” Bonner said. “GOOGL shares appear attractively valued given the company’s rapidly expanding businesses.”\nNew member love\nFacebook is expected to gain about 9% in the next year toward a market capitalization of $1.14 trillion, according to FactSet’s collection of analysts’ targets.\nFacebook beat on both earnings and revenue in the first quarter. Revenue rose 48% since last year due to higher price ads, the company said. Facebook attributed its massive revenue growth to a 30% increase in the average price per ad, as well as a 12% increase in number of ads shown.\nFacebook derives nearly all of its revenue from personalized advertisements that are shown to users of the Facebook and Instagram social networks. The company also has a burgeoning hardware business where it is building products like the Portal video-calling device, Oculus virtual-reality headsets and smart glasses, which are set to be released sometime in 2021.\nFacebook held its initial public offering in May 2012, debuting with a market cap of $104 billion.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":326,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":153499883,"gmtCreate":1625040729042,"gmtModify":1703850705414,"author":{"id":"3574139357676553","authorId":"3574139357676553","name":"LuminaryAurora","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/f6630b7aecb7602f7812d452e4c26f16","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3574139357676553","idStr":"3574139357676553"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Read","listText":"Read","text":"Read","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/153499883","repostId":"1142269235","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":385,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":153490433,"gmtCreate":1625040716522,"gmtModify":1703850704593,"author":{"id":"3574139357676553","authorId":"3574139357676553","name":"LuminaryAurora","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/f6630b7aecb7602f7812d452e4c26f16","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3574139357676553","idStr":"3574139357676553"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Read","listText":"Read","text":"Read","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/153490433","repostId":"1100838346","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":288,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":159262099,"gmtCreate":1624970835211,"gmtModify":1703849066276,"author":{"id":"3574139357676553","authorId":"3574139357676553","name":"LuminaryAurora","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/f6630b7aecb7602f7812d452e4c26f16","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3574139357676553","idStr":"3574139357676553"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok read","listText":"Ok read","text":"Ok read","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/159262099","repostId":"2147830544","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2147830544","pubTimestamp":1624923000,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2147830544?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-29 07:30","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Stocks making the biggest moves after hours: Morgan Stanley,Goldman Sachs,Luminar and more","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2147830544","media":"StreetInsider","summary":"After-Hours Stock Movers\nCelcuity Inc. Minnesota man criminally charged this month with securities fraud in a scheme to hijack dormant shell companies also may have recently seized control of a Florida penny-stock company, or at least tried to, court filings suggest.\nFederal prosecutors and the Securities and Exchange Commission in separatecriminalandcivil actionsfiled in Minnesota federal court this month accuse Mark Miller of using bogus documents to take over inactive shell companies and falsely inflate their stock prices, before selling millions of shares for profit.\nMiller, a 43-year-old general contractor, is a resident of Breezy Point, Minnesota, where he had been a Republican member of city council until resigning days after his indictment.\nAccording to prosecutors, Miller, his criminal case co-defendant Saied Jaberian and an unidentified relative of Miller actually became the nominal CEOs and presidents of the companies targeted in the alleged scam.\nCivil court documents filed in Florida starting in February show a Minnesota man with the same name, Mark Miller, engaged in efforts to take over another dormant shell company,New World Gold Corp.\nNew World Gold, which purports to be in the business of mining gold ore, is not one of seven companies identified as targets of Miller's purported scheme in the federal criminal case or in the civil SEC case, which are pending in Minnesota federal court.\nBut Florida court filings, press releases and social media activity surrounding New World Gold mirror allegations against Miller and his two co-defendants in the \"pump and dump\" scheme described in Minnesota court by federal prosecutors and securities regulators.\nNew World Gold's shares haveincreased in both price and trading volumein the past several months, ever since a man named Mark Miller filed the actions in Florida court seeking to control the company.\nA day afterCNBC broke the news of the criminal indictmentagainst Miller on June 18, New World Gold issued a statement on Twitter claiming that \"Mark Miller\" is not affiliated with the company.\nNew World Gold did not say that the \"Mark Miller\" who was connected to that company in court filings is a different Mark Miller from the one who was indicted in Minnesota.\nA number of people who follow the company on stock discussion boards pointed out that the company also did not explain why it would disclaim a connection to Mark Miller if that person was not the individual criminally charged in Minnesota.\nRobert Lengeling, Miller's criminal defense lawyer in Minnesota, declined to comment, and his client did not respond to CNBC's requests for comment.\n'Pump and dump'\nFederal prosecutors in Minnesota say Miller targeted at least four shell companies in the scheme that is the subject of the indictment against him and his co-defendants in the criminal case, Jaberian and Christopher James Rajkaran.\nThat indictment said the men allegedly used fake resignation letters from officials of the companies to seize control of the dormant companies.\nThey then issued false or misleading statements via press releases and social media, as well as the SEC's own EDGAR public filing system, to claim the companies had attractive new business opportunities, according to the charges.\nMiller and his alleged co-conspirators bought millions of shares of these companies, often for less than a penny, then sold those shares after pumping up the stock price with their fraudulent claims, the indictment said.\nProsecutors believe Miller and his associates made hundreds of thousands of dollars in illicit profits from the alleged scheme, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney's Office in Minnesota told CNBC.\nThe companies were identified in the indictment as Digitiliti,Encompass Holdings,Bell Buckle HoldingsandUtilicraft Aerospace Industries.\nThe SEC, in its civil lawsuit filed June 18 against Miller alone, identified three additional penny-stock companies also believed to be similarly targeted by Miller, beyond the four identified in the criminal case. Those three companies are Bebida Beverage Company,Simulated Environment ConceptsandStrategic Asset Leasing.\nMiller and New World Gold\nAll seven companies, like New World Gold, had been inactive before Miller got involved with them, court filings say.\nThe Florida Division of Corporationsdatabaseindicated that New World Gold was reinstated on that database on June 4, after having been dormant for more than five years.\nThe company's shares trade publicly on the over-the-counter market. New World Gold is listed by OTC Markets Group on its \"Pink\" platform, with a \"No Information\" warning. The \"company may not be making material information publicly available,\" that warning says.\nThe business hasno record of any SEC filings, which include a company's quarterly and annual financial statements, changes in executive positions, and other documents typically used by professionals and investors to make informed decisions about whether to buy or sell shares.\nNew World Gold's reappearance on the Florida state corporate database came almost four months after someone identifying himself as a Minnesota resident named Mark Miller filed a lawsuit in Florida'sPalm Beach County courtagainst New World Gold, seeking an order to hold a shareholder meeting.\nA Palm Beach County judge in April granted the motion and ordered a shareholder meeting to be held on May 27, court records show.\nMiller said in a June 17 court filing that during that shareholder meeting, \"a motion was made to remove an existing director (who is physically incapacitated) and to have Mr. Miller elected as director.\"\nThe same filing claims shareholders voted unanimously to elect Miller as director.\nNew World Gold claimed in a June 11press releasethat it acquired a mining business in Wyoming with access to gold and lithium. Lithium is a material used in batteries for personal electronics, as well as for electric vehicles.\nA week later, on June 18, a press releaseclaimed New World Gold had identified property in Nevada and South Dakota for mining.\nThe company said in apress releaseFriday that it had \"officially acquired\" a placer claim in South Dakota.\nPosts on Twitter, Stocktwits, Reddit and Investors Hub referenced Miller as CEO of New World Gold.\n\"$NWGC power hour definitely still at a buy I bought some more off this little dip!! I have trust in the new CEO Mark Miller,\" one Twitter usersaidon June 1.\n\"I think we get a lithium announcement with $nwgc,\" another user tweeted on June 3.\n\"I followed the CEO on twitter Mark Miller ... I expect him to drop BOMBS tomorrow!!!\"\nBut the companytweetedon June 4 that it appointed Ohio lawyer Bob Honigford as its CEO and director.\nA search for Honigford in the SEC documents database returns no results. He did not respond to requests for comment by CNBC.\n\"So, no Mark Miller....,\" a user said in aReddit forum called NWGCShareholders.\n\"This is terrible news,\" another user chimed in.\n\"Mark was the guy to get investor attention and reinstatement. Bob actually does business in the field,\" a different user said in the same thread.\nNew World Gold's stock price peaked on June 3 at around 4 cents.\nBut by Friday it was trading at less than a penny. That still was more than 8,000% higher than its 52-week low in December, before Miller's lawsuit.\nThe 30-day average trading volume of New World Gold shares is more than 146 million shares changing hands per day.\nNew World Gold responds\nFollowing CNBC's reporting on Miller's indictment, New World Gold tweeted that Miller was not connected to the company, despite claims to the contrary in the Palm Beach County complaint.\n\"Miller has no control over Corporate activity or news releases, and he is NOT involved with the future expansion of Operations,\" New World Goldtweetedon June 19.\nDavid Rothstein, the lawyer representing Mark Miller in the Palm Beach County court lawsuit involving New World Gold, likewise did not respond to a request for comment.\nCNBC could not reach New World Gold at the email address listed on its press releases.\nThe SEC did not respond to CNBC's requests for comment.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":539,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":159261797,"gmtCreate":1624970727920,"gmtModify":1703849062532,"author":{"id":"3574139357676553","authorId":"3574139357676553","name":"LuminaryAurora","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/f6630b7aecb7602f7812d452e4c26f16","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3574139357676553","idStr":"3574139357676553"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Oic","listText":"Oic","text":"Oic","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/159261797","repostId":"2146388793","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2146388793","pubTimestamp":1624959775,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2146388793?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-29 17:42","market":"us","language":"en","title":"2 Robinhood Stocks That Could Crush Dogecoin","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2146388793","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"They're already big winners but could have much more room to run.","content":"
Dogecoin (CRYPTO:DOGE) fans would be quick to point out that the cryptocurrency has skyrocketed more than 4,500% year to date. What started out as a joke has enabled some to laugh all the way to the bank.
\n
On the other hand, skeptics about Dogecoin would be just as quick to note that it has given up more than 60% of its earlier gains. Anyone who jumped on the Dogecoin late is probably sitting on some hefty losses.
\n
Regardless of what your take is on Dogecoin, what really matters is where you should put your money now. One place to get some investment ideas is Robinhood's 100 most popular stocks list. Here are two popular Robinhood stocks that could crush Dogecoin going forward.
\n
\n
NVIDIA
\n
While Dogecoin has nosedived in recent months, NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA) stock has taken off. One reason why is NVIDIA's upcoming four-for-one stock split. While stock splits don't impact a company's valuation directly, they can attract greater numbers of small investors.
\n
However, there are plenty of even better reasons to like NVIDIA that have nothing to do with its stock split. The most obvious one is the company's gaming business.
\n
Gaming remains NVIDIA's biggest moneymaker, generating $2.8 billion of the company's total revenue of nearly $5.7 billion in the first quarter of 2021. And business is booming. NVIDIA's gaming revenue more than doubled year over year.
\n
It isn't just that gaming is increasing in popularity (although that is the case). NVIDIA benefits from regular hardware upgrade cycles. New games require even more processing power, which drives demand for the more powerful graphics processing units (GPUs).
\n
I especially like that NVIDIA is leveraging its gaming expertise to target new markets. For example, the company recently unveiled Omniverse Enterprise, a platform where design teams can build 3D virtual simulations and collaborate in real-time. In effect, NVIDIA is turning work into play (or vice versa, depending on how you look at it).
\n
NVIDIA CFO Colette Kress said in the company's Q1 conference call, \"As the world becomes more digital, virtual and collaborative, we see a significant revenue opportunity for Omniverse.\" I think that Kress's optimism is well-founded.
\n
Don't overlook NVIDIA's potential in the data center market, though. The company posted data center revenue of more than $2 billion in Q1, up 79% year over year. NVIDIA should enjoy sustained growth as more applications include artificial intelligence (AI).
\n
Assuming NVIDIA's pending acquisition of Arm passes regulatory hurdles, the company should further cement its leadership position in AI. In particular, the Arm deal would boost NVIDIA's presence in the fast-growing Internet of Things market with chips for mobile devices.
\n
Sure, an overall cryptocurrency crash could cause NVIDIA's shares to fall due to the popularity of the company's GPUs with crypto miners. It's happened before. However, the company has taken steps to segment its gaming business from crypto. I think that any pullback would only be temporary. NVIDIA has too many other strong growth drivers.
\n
Moderna
\n
Most companies can't honestly say that they've helped change the world. Moderna (NASDAQ:MRNA) can.
\n
The biotech's COVID-19 vaccine was second only to the vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech to win U.S. Emergency Use Authorization (EUA). Moderna reported $1.9 billion in sales for the vaccine in Q1, but that's just the tip of the iceberg.
\n
Based on supply agreements in place as of early May, Moderna projected that its COVID-19 vaccine would rake in sales this year of $19.2 billion. However, the company has secured additional deals since then.
\n
In just the past two weeks, Moderna has landed two new huge supply agreements. The U.S. government is buying 200 million additional doses of Moderna's COVID19 vaccine. The European Commission agreed to purchase another 150 million doses.
\n
But does Moderna's market cap of close to $90 billion already price all of this growth in? To some extent, yes. However, shares still are trading at only around 10.5 times expected earnings. That's an attractive valuation, especially for a biotech stock.
\n
The big question for Moderna is how strong the recurring revenue from its COVID-19 vaccine will be. While the sales levels of 2021 and 2022 might not be sustainable over the long run, annual vaccinations could be likely (especially with emerging coronavirus variants). I expect Moderna will be able to count on significant COVID-19 vaccine sales for years to come.
\n
Then there's the pipeline. Moderna plans to advance its cytomegalovirus (CMV) vaccine into late-stage testing this year. It could easily be a megablockbuster if approved. The company has a dozen other programs in clinical testing.
\n
Moderna hopes to use its newfound riches to dramatically boost its pipeline in the near future. CEO Stephane Bancel has stated that he'd like to have up to 50 clinical programs.
\n
All of Moderna's current and planned pipeline programs are based on its messenger RNA (mRNA) technology. The company has maintained for a long time that if its mRNA approach worked for one disease, it would work for many diseases. If Moderna is right, the biotech stock should be a massive winner over the long run -- and could very well crush Dogecoin.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
2 Robinhood Stocks That Could Crush Dogecoin
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n2 Robinhood Stocks That Could Crush Dogecoin\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-29 17:42 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Dogecoin (CRYPTO:DOGE) fans would be quick to point out that the cryptocurrency has skyrocketed more than 4,500% year to date. Anyone who jumped on the Dogecoin late is probably sitting on some hefty losses.\nRegardless of what your take is on Dogecoin, what really matters is where you should put your money now. One place to get some investment ideas is Robinhood's 100 most popular stocks list. Here are two popular Robinhood stocks that could crush Dogecoin going forward.\nImage source: Getty Images.\nNVIDIA\nWhile Dogecoin has nosedived in recent months, NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA) stock has taken off. One reason why is NVIDIA's upcoming four-for-one stock split. While stock splits don't impact a company's valuation directly, they can attract greater numbers of small investors.\nHowever, there are plenty of even better reasons to like NVIDIA that have nothing to do with its stock split. The most obvious one is the company's gaming business.\nGaming remains NVIDIA's biggest moneymaker, generating $2.8 billion of the company's total revenue of nearly $5.7 billion in the first quarter of 2021. And business is booming. NVIDIA's gaming revenue more than doubled year over year.\nIt isn't just that gaming is increasing in popularity (although that is the case). NVIDIA benefits from regular hardware upgrade cycles. New games require even more processing power, which drives demand for the more powerful graphics processing units (GPUs).\nI especially like that NVIDIA is leveraging its gaming expertise to target new markets. For example, the company recently unveiled Omniverse Enterprise, a platform where design teams can build 3D virtual simulations and collaborate in real-time. In effect, NVIDIA is turning work into play (or vice versa, depending on how you look at it).\nNVIDIA CFO Colette Kress said in the company's Q1 conference call, \"As the world becomes more digital, virtual and collaborative, we see a significant revenue opportunity for Omniverse.\" I think that Kress's optimism is well-founded.\nDon't overlook NVIDIA's potential in the data center market, though. The company posted data center revenue of more than $2 billion in Q1, up 79% year over year. NVIDIA should enjoy sustained growth as more applications include artificial intelligence (AI).\nAssuming NVIDIA's pending acquisition of Arm passes regulatory hurdles, the company should further cement its leadership position in AI. In particular, the Arm deal would boost NVIDIA's presence in the fast-growing Internet of Things market with chips for mobile devices.\nSure, an overall cryptocurrency crash could cause NVIDIA's shares to fall due to the popularity of the company's GPUs with crypto miners. It's happened before. However, the company has taken steps to segment its gaming business from crypto. I think that any pullback would only be temporary. NVIDIA has too many other strong growth drivers.\nModerna\nMost companies can't honestly say that they've helped change the world. Moderna (NASDAQ:MRNA) can.\nThe biotech's COVID-19 vaccine was second only to the vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech to win U.S. Emergency Use Authorization (EUA). Moderna reported $1.9 billion in sales for the vaccine in Q1, but that's just the tip of the iceberg.\nBased on supply agreements in place as of early May, Moderna projected that its COVID-19 vaccine would rake in sales this year of $19.2 billion. However, the company has secured additional deals since then.\nIn just the past two weeks, Moderna has landed two new huge supply agreements. The U.S. government is buying 200 million additional doses of Moderna's COVID19 vaccine. The European Commission agreed to purchase another 150 million doses.\nBut does Moderna's market cap of close to $90 billion already price all of this growth in? To some extent, yes. However, shares still are trading at only around 10.5 times expected earnings. That's an attractive valuation, especially for a biotech stock.\nThe big question for Moderna is how strong the recurring revenue from its COVID-19 vaccine will be. While the sales levels of 2021 and 2022 might not be sustainable over the long run, annual vaccinations could be likely (especially with emerging coronavirus variants). I expect Moderna will be able to count on significant COVID-19 vaccine sales for years to come.\nThen there's the pipeline. Moderna plans to advance its cytomegalovirus (CMV) vaccine into late-stage testing this year. It could easily be a megablockbuster if approved. The company has a dozen other programs in clinical testing.\nModerna hopes to use its newfound riches to dramatically boost its pipeline in the near future. CEO Stephane Bancel has stated that he'd like to have up to 50 clinical programs.\nAll of Moderna's current and planned pipeline programs are based on its messenger RNA (mRNA) technology. The company has maintained for a long time that if its mRNA approach worked for one disease, it would work for many diseases. If Moderna is right, the biotech stock should be a massive winner over the long run -- and could very well crush Dogecoin.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":221,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":159261854,"gmtCreate":1624970705078,"gmtModify":1703849061718,"author":{"id":"3574139357676553","authorId":"3574139357676553","name":"LuminaryAurora","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/f6630b7aecb7602f7812d452e4c26f16","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3574139357676553","idStr":"3574139357676553"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"read","listText":"read","text":"read","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/159261854","repostId":"1128482198","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1128482198","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1624968506,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1128482198?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-29 20:08","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Toplines Before US Market Open on Tuesday","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1128482198","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"U.S. futures drift after tech drives U.S. gauges to records\n\n\nTreasuries steady; oil dips as gold he","content":"
\n
U.S. futures drift after tech drives U.S. gauges to records
\n
\n
\n
Treasuries steady; oil dips as gold heads for monthly drop
\n
\n
Stocks were mixed and U.S. futures fluctuated on Tuesday as concerns over a highly infectious Covid-19 strain spurred caution among investors. That still was more than 8,000% higher than its 52-week low in December, before Miller's lawsuit.\nThe 30-day average trading volume of New World Gold shares is more than 146 million shares changing hands per day.\nNew World Gold responds\nFollowing CNBC's reporting on Miller's indictment, New World Gold tweeted that Miller was not connected to the company, despite claims to the contrary in the Palm Beach County complaint.\n\"Miller has no control over Corporate activity or news releases, and he is NOT involved with the future expansion of Operations,\" New World Goldtweetedon June 19.\nDavid Rothstein, the lawyer representing Mark Miller in the Palm Beach County court lawsuit involving New World Gold, likewise did not respond to a request for comment.\nCNBC could not reach New World Gold at the email address listed on its press releases.\nThe SEC did not respond to CNBC's requests for comment.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":539,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":153499796,"gmtCreate":1625040746115,"gmtModify":1703850705739,"author":{"id":"3574139357676553","authorId":"3574139357676553","name":"LuminaryAurora","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/f6630b7aecb7602f7812d452e4c26f16","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3574139357676553","idStr":"3574139357676553"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Read","listText":"Read","text":"Read","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/153499796","repostId":"1168521489","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":326,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":159266542,"gmtCreate":1624970810086,"gmtModify":1703849065789,"author":{"id":"3574139357676553","authorId":"3574139357676553","name":"LuminaryAurora","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/f6630b7aecb7602f7812d452e4c26f16","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3574139357676553","idStr":"3574139357676553"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Alrights","listText":"Alrights","text":"Alrights","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/159266542","repostId":"2147832167","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":167,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":153493880,"gmtCreate":1625040758840,"gmtModify":1703850707856,"author":{"id":"3574139357676553","authorId":"3574139357676553","name":"LuminaryAurora","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/f6630b7aecb7602f7812d452e4c26f16","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3574139357676553","idStr":"3574139357676553"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Read","listText":"Read","text":"Read","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/153493880","repostId":"2147614258","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2147614258","pubTimestamp":1625038982,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2147614258?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-30 15:43","market":"us","language":"en","title":"NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel: Which Is the Best Chip Stock to Buy Right Now?","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2147614258","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"Investors looking to add a top chip stock to their portfolios will find a gem among these three companies.","content":"
The PHLX Semiconductor Sector Index has generated solid gains so far this year, despite the chip shortage and the sell-off in tech stocks earlier in 2021.
