But that overheated retail investor interest eventually waned and the stock price is now down about 73% from highs reached in January 2021. Beyond trading activity, the company has struggled to adjust to changing consumer behavior, and losses are mounting on the bottom line.</p><p>When GameStop reports Q4 earnings on Thursday, March 17, investors will want to hear from management that its business has been put on a more sustainable footing.</p><p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/7b68e46bc784f395311b6d2a20a13e02\" tg-width=\"700\" tg-height=\"399\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\"/><span>Image source: Getty Images.</span></p><h2>GameStop is struggling to stop losses on the bottom line</h2><p>In its most recent quarter ended Oct. 30, GameStop generated revenue of $1.3 billion. That was up from $1 billion in the same period the year prior. GameStop&#39;s revenue cratered by 22% in 2020 when it had to temporarily shut its doors to in-person shoppers. That said, the start of the pandemic was not the beginning of GameStop&#39;s troubles.</p><p>The company&#39;s sales have been steadily decreasing for several years. GameStop has adapted slowly to changing consumer behavior. The bulk of its business is buying and selling physical copies of games, a troubling business model when digital sales are expanding. The trend is unlikely to reverse as physical and digital copies of games are typically priced the same. That leaves the consumer a choice: Buy your game online from the comfort of your home, or travel to your nearest GameStop store to purchase an identical copy. For most gamers, the choice is clearly in favor of the digital copy.</p><p>In 2012, GameStop earned revenue of $9.5 billion. In 2019, even before the effects of the pandemic, sales had fallen to $8.3 billion. The company is on pace for far less than that in 2021. In the nine months ended on Oct. 30, sales reached $3.8 billion. The company has not been able to cut costs fast enough or to the magnitude of the declining revenue to balance the income statement. As a result, GameStop has lost $234 million on the bottom line so far in fiscal 2021.</p><p>When the company reports fourth-quarter and full fiscal year results on March 17, investors will want to see a clear path to sustainable operations. Given how mismatched the business model is with where the consumer is heading, one of the more likely options is aggressive cost-cutting and store closures. However, it does not look like management is taking that route -- it is instead investing in new offices in technology hubs to attract more talent.</p><h2>What this could mean for GameStop investors</h2><p>Analysts on Wall Street expect GameStop to report revenue of $2.22 billion and earnings per share (EPS) of $0.84. If the company meets those projections, it would be an increase of 4.4%  on revenue and a decrease of 37.31% on EPS from the same period a year ago.</p><p>It&#39;s apparent that minor increases in growth will not be enough to turn things around. That leaves the consumer a choice: Buy your game online from the comfort of your home, or travel to your nearest GameStop store to purchase an identical copy. For most gamers, the choice is clearly in favor of the digital copy.In 2012, GameStop earned revenue of $9.5 billion. In 2019, even before the effects of the pandemic, sales had fallen to $8.3 billion. The company is on pace for far less than that in 2021. In the nine months ended on Oct. 30, sales reached $3.8 billion. The company has not been able to cut costs fast enough or to the magnitude of the declining revenue to balance the income statement. The stock has tumbled following 10 of the past 11 quarterly reports, averaging a 15% drop the trading day after its earnings call.</p>\n<p>The trend has gotten worse this year, despite the stock being <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AONE.U\">one</a> of the market's biggest winners of 2021. The stock took a 34% hit the day after its fiscal fourth quarterly report in March, and then a 27% plunge three months later with its fiscal first quarter performance.</p>\n<p>Is GameStop doing some interesting things to reinvent its business? Sure. Is it going to zero? I don't think so. However, the trend is your friend, and right now you may want to think twice about owning the video game retailer heading into its quarterly report. It will offer up its latest results shortly after Wednesday's close. Look for the stock to move sharply one way or the other on Thursday.</p>\n<h2>Carnival</h2>\n<p>Even cruising fans are coming after Carnival. Last week kicked off with 50 passengers from a recent sailing filing a class action lawsuit against the world's largest cruise line operator for not doing a better job of protecting its passengers on a cruise that had a COVID-19 outbreak. It would go on to extend its vaccination requirement through the end of the year, a move that will help make its ships safe but will also alienate a chunk of its audience.</p>\n<p>The stock would then go on to tumble along with other tourist stocks following the U.S.'s problematic monthly jobs report. This recovery is clearly going to take a lot longer than bulls were expecting.</p>\n<h2>SentinelOne</h2>\n<p>SentinelOne investors have to feel pretty good about where they are right now. The stock hit another all-time high on Friday, and it heads into this week's quarterly report with resounding momentum. SentinelOne is a fast-growing player in cloud-based cybersecurity. It knows how to assess threats, but can the same be said about its shareholders?</p>\n<p>SentinelOne trades at some pretty jaw-dropping multiples. It's an $18 billion market cap company with just $112.5 million in trailing revenue. We're talking about a top-line multiple north of 150, sky-high even by inflated SaaS stock standards.</p>\n<p>SentinelOne is often compared to <b>CrowdStrike</b> (NASDAQ:CRWD), but it's not fair. CrowdStrike is far more successful. It's generating 10 times the revenue, fetching a third of the revenue multiple, and its gross margin is actually improving for what is at least the fifth year in a row. SentinelOne may be growing slightly faster, but it's buying that growth. Its gross margin has been contracting as SentinelOne is getting aggressive in winning low-margin deals.</p>\n<p>Investors sending SentinelOne to its highest level since going public in June suggests it will need to exceed perfection in this week's financial update to keep the party going. As brutal as AMC&#39;s plummet has been since peaking in early June of last year the stock has still more than tripled over the past year. The problem here is that a lot of AMC retail investors aren&#39;t long-term holders. A lot of them have joined with the stock on the way down, and in some cases this is their first and only investment in the stock market.</p><p>They have been buying the dip, even if it&#39;s probably more fair to call a nearly 80% plunge from its peak more a canyon than a dip. What if they&#39;re buying the wrong dip? What if real dip worth buying -- the one that can turn things around -- is the nacho cheese dip that AMC sells at the concessions stand inside its theaters? There is power in the galvanization, but it&#39;s also dangerous beyond the pitfalls of echo chambers and confirmation bias. Someone with a diversified portfolio doesn&#39;t cheer exclusively for a single stock, embracing the cult of personality and erecting a wall to block out anyone who disagrees with them.</p><p>Banding a bunch of like-minded investors together to push a stock higher can only take you so far, and we&#39;ve seen that awkward gravity play out over the past eight months. The better strategy -- especially for a consumer-facing business -- is to use that megaphone to promote the product itself. It&#39;s been seven weeks since I argued that AMC needs more fans than cheerleaders. Jushi Holdings</h2>\n<p>Trading for less than $6 per share at the time of this writing, <b>Jushi Holdings</b> (OTC:JUSHF) is a small-cap company with serious long-term growth potential. The multistate cannabis operator owns a family of marijuana brands including Tasteology, Nira, and The Lab Concentrates. It also runs a chain of retail cannabis stores spread across Pennsylvania, Illinois, California, and Virginia.</p>\n<p>2020 was an extremely profitable, high-growth year for Jushi Holdings. It recorded a nearly 700% spike in revenue, and its gross profits surged by a mouthwatering 760%.</p>\n<p>Jushi Holdings reported a 30% increase in revenue during the first quarter of 2021. But the company's lightning-fast growth isn't hindering its ability to expand its cash position, as it closed the period with a robust $168 million in cash, cash equivalents, and short-term investments.</p>\n<p>The company is also quickly expanding its national presence. In the month of April alone, Jushi Holdings closed its acquisition of a group of marijuana cultivation, manufacturing, and distribution facilities in Nevada and announced more pending deals that are scheduled to close later this year. In Ohio, its purchase of OhiGrow will make Jushi Holdings the owner of <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AONE.U\">one</a> of just 34 licensed cultivators in the state -- a key medical marijuana market. And in Massachusetts, where cannabis is legal for both medical and recreational purposes, Jushi plans to acquire Nature's Remedy, owner of a cultivation and manufacturing facility as well as two retail dispensaries.</p>\n<p>As Jushi Holdings continues to grow its footprint in the coming years, its balance sheet and share price could also be considerably augmented. This is a great time to seize upon this premium pot stock's cheap share price to capitalize on its long-term potential.</p>\n<h2>2. <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/PFE\">Pfizer</a></h2>\n<p><b>Pfizer</b> (NYSE:PFE) skyrocketed to rock-star status during the pandemic when BNT162b2 -- which it developed with its German partner, <b>BioNTech </b>-- became the first COVID-19 vaccine to earn emergency use authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Despite the massive success of BNT162b2, now being marketed as Comirnaty, not to mention a bulletproof portfolio of other lucrative products that have seen strong sales growth, Pfizer's shares still trade at less than $40.</p>\n<p>Pfizer's coronavirus vaccine is already having a decisive impact on its balance sheet. The company expects to bring in about $26 billion in revenue from Comirnaty in 2021 alone, and it just announced on May 7 that it was filing with the FDA for full approval of the vaccine for use by people 16 and older.</p>\n<p>During the first quarter of 2021, Pfizer reported astonishing revenue growth of 42% year over year. But it has plenty of other products beyond its coronavirus vaccine to rely on for future gains. Even when you factor BNT162b2 out of the picture, the company still reported excellent revenue growth of 8% from the prior-year period.</p>\n<p>In addition to coronavirus vaccine sales, Pfizer's robust top-line expansion during the first quarter was driven by consistent single- to double-digit percentage revenue increases across its core business segments. For example, sales in Pfizer's oncology, internal medicine, and rare disease segments shot up 16%, 10%, and 25%, respectively. Among its top-selling drugs, anticoagulant Eliquis, heart failure medications Vyndaqel and Vyndamax, and rheumatoid arthritis medication Xeljanz recorded sales gains of 25%, 88%, and 18%, respectively. Management is now forecasting full-year revenues in the range of $70.5 billion to $72.5 billion.</p>\n<p>Pfizer's also an attractive option for dividend-seeking investors. The stock yields a healthy 4% at the time of this writing. Moreover, it trades at a mere 20 times trailing earnings. Jushi Holdings\nTrading for less than $6 per share at the time of this writing, Jushi Holdings (OTC:JUSHF) is a small-cap company with serious long-term growth potential. The multistate cannabis operator owns a family of marijuana brands including Tasteology, Nira, and The Lab Concentrates. It also runs a chain of retail cannabis stores spread across Pennsylvania, Illinois, California, and Virginia.\n2020 was an extremely profitable, high-growth year for Jushi Holdings. It recorded a nearly 700% spike in revenue, and its gross profits surged by a mouthwatering 760%.\nJushi Holdings reported a 30% increase in revenue during the first quarter of 2021. But the company's lightning-fast growth isn't hindering its ability to expand its cash position, as it closed the period with a robust $168 million in cash, cash equivalents, and short-term investments.\nThe company is also quickly expanding its national presence. In the month of April alone, Jushi Holdings closed its acquisition of a group of marijuana cultivation, manufacturing, and distribution facilities in Nevada and announced more pending deals that are scheduled to close later this year. In Ohio, its purchase of OhiGrow will make Jushi Holdings the owner of one of just 34 licensed cultivators in the state -- a key medical marijuana market. And in Massachusetts, where cannabis is legal for both medical and recreational purposes, Jushi plans to acquire Nature's Remedy, owner of a cultivation and manufacturing facility as well as two retail dispensaries.\nAs Jushi Holdings continues to grow its footprint in the coming years, its balance sheet and share price could also be considerably augmented. This is a great time to seize upon this premium pot stock's cheap share price to capitalize on its long-term potential.\n2. Pfizer\nPfizer (NYSE:PFE) skyrocketed to rock-star status during the pandemic when BNT162b2 -- which it developed with its German partner, BioNTech -- became the first COVID-19 vaccine to earn emergency use authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Despite the massive success of BNT162b2, now being marketed as Comirnaty, not to mention a bulletproof portfolio of other lucrative products that have seen strong sales growth, Pfizer's shares still trade at less than $40.\nPfizer's coronavirus vaccine is already having a decisive impact on its balance sheet. The company expects to bring in about $26 billion in revenue from Comirnaty in 2021 alone, and it just announced on May 7 that it was filing with the FDA for full approval of the vaccine for use by people 16 and older.\nDuring the first quarter of 2021, Pfizer reported astonishing revenue growth of 42% year over year. But it has plenty of other products beyond its coronavirus vaccine to rely on for future gains. Even when you factor BNT162b2 out of the picture, the company still reported excellent revenue growth of 8% from the prior-year period.\nIn addition to coronavirus vaccine sales, Pfizer's robust top-line expansion during the first quarter was driven by consistent single- to double-digit percentage revenue increases across its core business segments. For example, sales in Pfizer's oncology, internal medicine, and rare disease segments shot up 16%, 10%, and 25%, respectively. Among its top-selling drugs, anticoagulant Eliquis, heart failure medications Vyndaqel and Vyndamax, and rheumatoid arthritis medication Xeljanz recorded sales gains of 25%, 88%, and 18%, respectively. Management is now forecasting full-year revenues in the range of $70.5 billion to $72.5 billion.\nPfizer's also an attractive option for dividend-seeking investors. The stock yields a healthy 4% at the time of this writing. Moreover, it trades at a mere 20 times trailing earnings.
