drops amid low interest rates\nU.S. consumer prices surge in June\nBoeing slips on new production problems for 787 Dreamliners\nIndexes: Dow -0.31%, S&P 500 -0.35%, Nasdaq -0.38%\n\n(Updates following end of session)\nJuly 13 (Reuters) - The S&P 500 and Nasdaq ended lower on Tuesday after hitting record highs earlier in the session, with investors digesting a jump in consumer prices in June and earnings from JPMorgan and Goldman Sachs that kicked off the quarterly reporting season.\nThe S&P 500 and Nasdaq reached fresh record highs but quickly fell into negative territory after an auction of 30-year Treasuries showed less demand than some investors expected and pushed yields higher.\nData indicated U.S. consumer prices rose by the most in 13 years last month, while so-called core consumer prices surged 4.5% year over year, the largest rise since November 1991.\nEconomists viewed the price surge, driven by travel-rated services and used automobiles, as mostly temporary, aligning with Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell's long-standing views.\n\"Any time you get an uptick in interest rates the stock market is going to get nervous, especially on a day like today,\" said Joe Saluzzi, co-manager of trading at Themis Trading in Chatham, New Jersey.\nThe S&P 500 growth index dipped 0.05%, while the value index fell 0.70%.\n\"With growth outperforming value, the takeaway is clearly that inflation from a market perspective is not a real threat in the long term,\" said Keith Buchanan, a portfolio manager at GLOBALT Investments in Atlanta, Georgia.\nTen of the 11 major S&P 500 sector indexes ended lower, with real estate , consumer discretionary and financials each down more than 1%.\nJPMorgan Chase & Co stock fell 1.5% after the company reported blockbuster quarterly profit growth but warned that the sunny outlook would not make for blockbuster revenues in the short term due to low interest rates.\nGoldman Sachs Group Inc dipped 1.2% after its quarterly earnings exceeded forecasts.\nCitigroup , Wells Fargo & Co and Bank of America were due to report their quarterly results early on Wednesday.\nPepsiCo Inc gained 2.3% after raising its full-year earnings forecast, betting on accelerating demand as COVID-19 restrictions continue to ease.\nJune-quarter earnings per share for S&P 500 companies are expected to rise 66%, according to Refinitiv data, with investors questioning how long Wall Street's rally would last after a 16% rise in the benchmark index so far this year.\nAll eyes now turn to Fed Chair Jerome Powell's congressional testimony on Wednesday and Thursday for his comments about rising price pressures and monetary support going forward.\nThe Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.31% to end at 34,888.79 points, while the S&P 500 lost 0.35% to 4,369.21.\nThe Nasdaq Composite dropped 0.38% to 14,677.65.\nConagra Brands Inc dropped 5.4% after the packaged foods company warned that higher raw material and ingredient costs would take a bigger bite out of its profit this year than previously estimated.\nBoeing Co fell 4.2% after the Federal Aviation Administration said late on Monday some undelivered 787 Dreamliners have a new A perfect storm of historically low lending rates, ongoing bond purchases by the nation's central bank, and now big spending from Washington, has allowed fast-growing companies to thrive.
\n
And yet, even with many of the broader market indexes hitting new all-time highs, Wall Street still foresees ample upside for a number of high-profile growth stocks. Based on the highest price target estimate for each of the following five growth stocks, Wall Street sees upside ranging from 62% to as much a 144% over the coming year.
\n
\n
NIO: Implied upside of 104%
\n
The first supercharged growth stock Wall Street sees driving away from its competition is electric-vehicle manufacturer NIO (NYSE:NIO). Even though NIO is getting near the mean consensus price target, the high-water mark among analysts calls for the company to hit $92 a share. That implies a more than doubling in NIO's shares, based on where it closed this past weekend.
\n
The bullishness surrounding NIO likely has to do with the company's location and its ability to scale production. Concerning the former, China is the largest auto market in the world. By 2035, the projection is that half of all vehicles sold will be powered by some form of alternative energy, 95% of which are EVs. Since the EV market is still nascent in China, the door is wide open for NIO to become a major player.
\n
NIO has also done an excellent job of ramping up production over the past year. Even though output is currently constrained by a global chip shortage, it's on track to deliver between 21,000 and 22,000 EVs in the second quarter. For some context, it delivered only 20,565 vehicles in the entirety of 2019.
\n
With NIO sitting on a mammoth cash pile and introducing a high-margin battery subscription service last year, this lofty price target may one day be achievable -- but probably not in 12 months.
\n
\n
Teladoc Health: Implied upside of 82%
\n
Leading telehealth platform Teladoc Health (NYSE:TDOC) offers abundant upside, if the most aggressive price target on Wall Street proves accurate. According to BTIG analyst David Larsen, Teladoc is a buy with a $300 one-year price target. This implies up to an 82% increase in its shares.
\n
Some folks might think Teladoc's 2020 was a bit fluky given the coronavirus pandemic. After all, with physicians wanting to keep high-risk and potentially infected people out of their offices, virtual visits skyrocketed to almost 10.6 million from 4.14 million in 2019. But the fact remains that Teladoc grew sales by an annual average of 74% in the six years leading up to the pandemic. This demonstrates that telemedicine was catching on long before the pandemic struck.
\n
While telehealth can't always replace in-office visits, virtual appointments are substantially more convenient for patients, and they should allow physicians to better keep track of key health metrics for chronically ill patients. In short, telehealth is a ticket to improved health outcomes, which insurers should appreciate (since it'll mean less money out of their pockets).
\n
Also don't overlook that Teladoc acquired applied health signals company Livongo Health in the fourth quarter of 2020. Livongo leans on artificial intelligence to send tips and nudges to chronically ill patients to help them lead healthier lives. It's already signed up 658,000 diabetes members.
\n
In other words, this price target might be lofty, but it may be reachable.
\n
\n
Skillz: Implied upside of 66%
\n
Another big-time growth stock with significant implied upside is gaming and Esports platform Skillz (NYSE:SKLZ). If Wall Street's high price target of $34 comes to fruition, Skillz would deliver gains of 66% to its shareholders.
\n
With the understanding that the gaming industry is highly competitive, Skillz chose not to take on the deep-pocketed developers. Instead, it's built a platform that allows gamers to compete for cash prizes. In turn, Skillz and the game developers in question get to keep a cut of the cash prizes. By putting the ball in the court of gaming developers, Skillz reduced the operating risk of its platform while pumping its gross margin up to 95%.
\n
Even though costs are moving higher as headcount and marketing increase, the future looks intriguing. In particular, Skillz signed a multiyear agreement with the National Football League (NFL) in early February. Football is the most-popular sport in the U.S. by a longshot. This agreement should allow NFL-themed games to hit its platform by no later than 2022.
\n
Skillz already notes that 17% of its monthly active users are paying to play, which is over eight times higher than the industry average. If this continues, sales could triple by 2024. This makes a $34 price target seem potentially achievable in the next 12 months.
\n
\n
Sarepta Therapeutics: Implied upside of 144%
\n
Specialty biotech stock Sarepta Therapeutics (NASDAQ:SRPT) has a chance to be one of the biggest winners over the coming year, but a lot will depend on its pipeline. Based on the loftiest Wall Street price target of $196, Sarepta could see up to 144% upside over the next 12 months.
\n
Sarepta's success is tied to its trio of U.S. Food and Drug Administration-approved drugs to treat Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) -- a disease diagnosed in children that's characterized by the degradation of muscle tissue over time. Each of its approved therapies targets a specific exon-skipping mutation of the dystrophin gene.
\n
The big question for Sarepta is whether experimental drug candidate SRP-9001 becomes a savior or curse. SRP-9001 utilizes an adeno-associated virus to deliver a gene directly to muscle tissue to encourage the production of micro-dystrophin. Most importantly, SRP-9001 moves beyond the gene-specific nature of Sarepta's therapies and would be applicable to a greater number of DMD patients.
\n
In January, Sarepta's share price nosedived after Part 1 of Study 102 showed SRP-9001 led to improved North Star Ambulatory Assessment total scores, but this improvement wasn't statistically significant. It then partially redeemed itself in May with positive early trial results from the open-label Endeavor study. For the time being, taking a wait-and-see approach might be the smartest thing for investors to do.
\n
\n
Amazon: Implied upside of 62%
\n
Last, but not least, we have a company a few of you might have heard of before: Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN). According to the Wall Street-high price target of $5,500 from Susquehanna, the king of e-commerce could deliver up to a 62% gain over the next year. For some added context, this would add about $1.06 trillion to Amazon's already large $1.72 trillion market cap.
\n
One reason for optimism is Amazon's virtually insurmountable market share advantage in U.S. online retail sales. In 2021, it'll control an estimated $0.40 of every $1 spent online, based on a report from eMarketer. That's more than five times higher than its next-closest competitor. This dominance has helped the company sign up over 200 million Prime members worldwide.
\n
However, the bigger growth driver looks to be Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS holds about a third of infrastructure cloud services market share. Despite accounting for only an eighth of Amazon's total sales, the higher margins associated with cloud services have AWS generating around 60% of its operating income. Between 2020 and 2025, we could see Amazon's operating cash flow nearly triple as a result of AWS.
\n
Recently, I made a case for Amazon to hit $10,000 a share by 2025. Suffice it to say, I believe $5,500 may be a realistic one-year target for this absolutely dominant company.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
5 High-Growth Stocks With 62% to 144% Upside, According to Wall Street
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n5 High-Growth Stocks With 62% to 144% Upside, According to Wall Street\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-29 20:42 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
For more than a decade, growth stocks have proved unstoppable. But the fact remains that Teladoc grew sales by an annual average of 74% in the six years leading up to the pandemic. This demonstrates that telemedicine was catching on long before the pandemic struck.\nWhile telehealth can't always replace in-office visits, virtual appointments are substantially more convenient for patients, and they should allow physicians to better keep track of key health metrics for chronically ill patients. In short, telehealth is a ticket to improved health outcomes, which insurers should appreciate (since it'll mean less money out of their pockets).\nAlso don't overlook that Teladoc acquired applied health signals company Livongo Health in the fourth quarter of 2020. Livongo leans on artificial intelligence to send tips and nudges to chronically ill patients to help them lead healthier lives. It's already signed up 658,000 diabetes members.\nIn other words, this price target might be lofty, but it may be reachable.\nImage source: Getty Images.\nSkillz: Implied upside of 66%\nAnother big-time growth stock with significant implied upside is gaming and Esports platform Skillz (NYSE:SKLZ). If Wall Street's high price target of $34 comes to fruition, Skillz would deliver gains of 66% to its shareholders.\nWith the understanding that the gaming industry is highly competitive, Skillz chose not to take on the deep-pocketed developers. Instead, it's built a platform that allows gamers to compete for cash prizes. In turn, Skillz and the game developers in question get to keep a cut of the cash prizes. By putting the ball in the court of gaming developers, Skillz reduced the operating risk of its platform while pumping its gross margin up to 95%.\nEven though costs are moving higher as headcount and marketing increase, the future looks intriguing. In particular, Skillz signed a multiyear agreement with the National Football League (NFL) in early February. Football is the most-popular sport in the U.S. by a longshot. This agreement should allow NFL-themed games to hit its platform by no later than 2022.\nSkillz already notes that 17% of its monthly active users are paying to play, which is over eight times higher than the industry average. If this continues, sales could triple by 2024. This makes a $34 price target seem potentially achievable in the next 12 months.\nImage source: Getty Images.\nSarepta Therapeutics: Implied upside of 144%\nSpecialty biotech stock Sarepta Therapeutics (NASDAQ:SRPT) has a chance to be one of the biggest winners over the coming year, but a lot will depend on its pipeline. Based on the loftiest Wall Street price target of $196, Sarepta could see up to 144% upside over the next 12 months.\nSarepta's success is tied to its trio of U.S. Food and Drug Administration-approved drugs to treat Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) -- a disease diagnosed in children that's characterized by the degradation of muscle tissue over time. Each of its approved therapies targets a specific exon-skipping mutation of the dystrophin gene.\nThe big question for Sarepta is whether experimental drug candidate SRP-9001 becomes a savior or curse. SRP-9001 utilizes an adeno-associated virus to deliver a gene directly to muscle tissue to encourage the production of micro-dystrophin. Most importantly, SRP-9001 moves beyond the gene-specific nature of Sarepta's therapies and would be applicable to a greater number of DMD patients.\nIn January, Sarepta's share price nosedived after Part 1 of Study 102 showed SRP-9001 led to improved North Star Ambulatory Assessment total scores, but this improvement wasn't statistically significant. It then partially redeemed itself in May with positive early trial results from the open-label Endeavor study. For the time being, taking a wait-and-see approach might be the smartest thing for investors to do.\nImage source: Getty Images.\nAmazon: Implied upside of 62%\nLast, but not least, we have a company a few of you might have heard of before: Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN). According to the Wall Street-high price target of $5,500 from Susquehanna, the king of e-commerce could deliver up to a 62% gain over the next year. For some added context, this would add about $1.06 trillion to Amazon's already large $1.72 trillion market cap.\nOne reason for optimism is Amazon's virtually insurmountable market share advantage in U.S. online retail sales. In 2021, it'll control an estimated $0.40 of every $1 spent online, based on a report from eMarketer. That's more than five times higher than its next-closest competitor. This dominance has helped the company sign up over 200 million Prime members worldwide.\nHowever, the bigger growth driver looks to be Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS holds about a third of infrastructure cloud services market share. Despite accounting for only an eighth of Amazon's total sales, the higher margins associated with cloud services have AWS generating around 60% of its operating income. Between 2020 and 2025, we could see Amazon's operating cash flow nearly triple as a result of AWS.\nRecently, I made a case for Amazon to hit $10,000 a share by 2025. Suffice it to say, I believe $5,500 may be a realistic one-year target for this absolutely dominant company.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":72,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9088218655,"gmtCreate":1650347090805,"gmtModify":1676534702509,"author":{"id":"3575000650579772","authorId":"3575000650579772","authorIdStr":"3575000650579772","name":"Samwich","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/333bbe08da61ec501a2da43a65e31462","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3575000650579772"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Hi","listText":"Hi","text":"Hi","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9088218655","repostId":"1105840721","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":470,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":813731645,"gmtCreate":1630244943387,"gmtModify":1676530250068,"author":{"id":"3575000650579772","authorId":"3575000650579772","authorIdStr":"3575000650579772","name":"Samwich","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/333bbe08da61ec501a2da43a65e31462","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3575000650579772"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/813731645","repostId":"1162964424","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":10,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":174730730,"gmtCreate":1627137160920,"gmtModify":1703484702602,"author":{"id":"3575000650579772","authorId":"3575000650579772","authorIdStr":"3575000650579772","name":"Samwich","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/333bbe08da61ec501a2da43a65e31462","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3575000650579772"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/174730730","repostId":"1151500518","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1151500518","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1627092269,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1151500518?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-07-24 10:04","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Tencent was ordered to remove the exclusive copyright of online music","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1151500518","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"The China market supervision administration made an administrative punishment decision according to ","content":"
The China market supervision administration made an administrative punishment decision according to law, ordering Tencent and its affiliated companies to take measures to restore the state of market competition, such as canceling the exclusive music copyright within 30 days, stopping the payment of copyright fees such as high prepayment, and not requiring the upstream copyright party to give conditions superior to its competitors without justified reasons. This works out to an aggregate gain of greater than 2,800,000% for its Class A shares.
\n
Although Buffett isn't perfect, he and his investing team have a knack for identifying attractively valued businesses that have clear competitive advantages. As we prepare to move into the second half of 2021, the following five Buffett stocks stand out as those that should be bought hand over fist.
\n
Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett. Based on an April report from eMarketer, the company effectively controls $0.40 of every $1 spent online in the United States. It's also pivoted its online retail popularity into signing up more than 200 million people to its Prime program worldwide. The fees Amazon collects from Prime help it to undercut its competition on price. And it certainly doesn't hurt that Prime members tend to spend many multiples more than non-Prime shoppers during the course of the year.
\n
But it's the company's cloud infrastructure service, Amazon Web Services (AWS), that has truly budded into a star. Since the operating margins associated with cloud infrastructure are considerably higher than what Amazon nets from retail and advertising, AWS' growth is leading to a surge in operating cash flow. If investors were to continue to pay the midpoint of Amazon's operating cash flow multiple over the past decade, it could hit $10,000 a share by 2025.
\n
\n
Bristol Myers Squibb
\n
Pharmaceutical stocks are money machines, and none looks to be more attractive on a valuation basis than Bristol Myers Squibb (NYSE:BMY).
\n
One reason to be excited about this drug developer is its organic growth potential. Eliquis, which was co-developed with Pfizer, has blossomed into the world's leading oral anticoagulant, with sales expected to surpass $10 billion in 2021. Meanwhile, dozens of additional clinical trials are underway for cancer immunotherapy Opdivo, which generated $7 billion in sales last year. This offers plenty of opportunity to expand Opdivo's label and pump up its pricing power.
\n
Another reason Bristol Myers Squibb is such an intriguing stock is its November 2019 acquisition of cancer and immunology company Celgene. Buying Celgene brought the blockbuster multiple-myeloma drug Revlimid into the fold. Revlimid has sustainably grown its annual sales by a double-digit percentage for more than a decade, with label expansion, longer duration of use, and pricing power all playing a role. This key treatment, which topped $12 billion in sales last year, is protected from a full onslaught of generic competition until early 2026. That means Bristol Myers will be rolling in the dough for another five years, at minimum.
\n
\n
Mastercard
\n
Everyone seems to be looking for the smartest recovery play from the pandemic. Payment processor Mastercard (NYSE:MA) might well be the safest way to take advantage of a steady uptick in consumer and enterprise spending.
\n
Mastercard isn't a cheap stock by any means -- at 36 times Wall Street's forward-year earnings consensus -- but it benefits from a simple numbers game. While economic contractions and recessions are inevitable, these periods of turbulence tend to be short-lived. By comparison, economic expansions often last many years. Buying into Mastercard allows investors to take full advantage of these long periods of economic expansion and robust spending. Plus, it doesn't hurt that Mastercard has the second-highest share of credit-card network purchase volume in the U.S., the leading market for consumption.
\n
Investors can also sleep easy with the understanding that Mastercard strictly sticks to payment facilitation. Even though some of its peers also lend, and are therefore able to generate interest income and fees during bull markets, Mastercard has avoided becoming a lender. It's something you'll truly appreciate when a recession strikes. Whereas most financial stocks will be forced to set aside capital to cover credit or loan delinquencies, Mastercard won't have to. This is a big reason it bounces back from recessions quicker than most financial stocks.
\n
\n
Teva Pharmaceutical Industries
\n
If you have an appetite for turnaround plays, brand-name and generic-drug developer Teva Pharmaceutical Industries (NYSE:TEVA) is the stock to buy hand over fist for the second half of 2021. Like Amazon, it's a stock that was added to Berkshire Hathaway's portfolio by either Combs or Weschler and not Buffett.
\n
While there's no denying that Teva has its fair share of hurdles to overcome, the company's turnaround-focused CEO, Kare Schultz, has been a blessing. Since taking the helm less than four years ago, Schultz has helped shave off more than $10 billion in net debt, and he's overseen the reduction of roughly $3 billion in annual operating expenses. There's more work to do to improve Teva's balance sheet, but the company is very clearly on much firmer ground than it was back in 2016-2017.
\n
Schultz also has the potential to play peacemaker for a number of outstanding lawsuits targeting Teva's role in the opioid crisis. If this litigation can be resolved with minimal cash outlay, Teva's valuation could soar. At just 4 times the company's projected earnings in 2021, Teva is about as cheap as a healthcare stock can get.
\n
\n
Bank of America
\n
Lastly, bank stock Bank of America (NYSE:BAC) has the look of a company that can be confidently bought hand over fist for the second half of 2021.
\n
For much of the past decade, the Federal Reserve has kept interest rates at or near historic lows. That's meant less in the way of interest income for banks. But the latest update from the nation's central bank suggests that interest rates could begin creeping up in 2023, a year earlier than previously forecast. Bank of America is the most interest-sensitive money-center bank. According to its first-quarter investor presentation, BofA would generate $8.3 billion in net interest income on a 100-basis-point shift in the interest rate yield curve. Translation: Bank of America's profits should rocket higher beginning in 2023-2024.
\n
At the same time, BofA has done an outstanding job of controlling its costs and improving its operating efficiency. Investments in digitization have resulted in higher mobile app and digital banking use, which is allowing the company to consolidate some of its branches. Even with its shares at a 13-year high, Bank of America has plenty left in the tank.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
5 Buffett Stocks to Buy Hand Over Fist for the Second Half of 2021
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n5 Buffett Stocks to Buy Hand Over Fist for the Second Half of 2021\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-27 08:55 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
When Warren Buffett buys or sells a stock, Wall Street and retail investors tend to pay very close attention.
