To some, they only represent an acknowledgment that a stock's pullback has lasted long enough and/or extended far enough to consider shifting the narrative on the longer-term outlook. \n</p>\n<p>\n  Tesla's stock hasn't closed at a record since Jan. 26, and was recently trading 26% below its record of $883.09. Meanwhile, other Nasdaq-listed megacapitalization stocks like Apple Inc. <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AAPL\">$(AAPL)$</a>, Microsoft Corp. <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/MSFT\">$(MSFT)$</a>, Amazon.com Inc. <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AMZN\">$(AMZN)$</a> and Alphabet Inc. <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/GOOGL\">$(GOOGL)$</a> have all set fresh records this week, and <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/FB\">Facebook</a> Inc. (FB) shares closed at a record last week. \n</p>\n<p>\n  Tesla shares have shed 7.7% year to date, while the Nasdaq Composite Index  has gained 13.0% and the S&amp;P 500 index  has advanced 15.0%. \n</p>\n<p>\n   And Tesla's death cross could still warn of further losses. \n</p>\n<p>\n  The last death cross appeared on Feb. 28, 2019, about two months after it reached a multi-month closing peak, and after closing 15% below that peak. The ability to access software and services from anywhere an internet connection can be found is transforming industries and benefiting businesses and consumers alike.</p>\n<p>Financial services and real estate are just two sectors undergoing rapid change in part because of the cloud. SPAC stocks <b>SoFi </b>(NASDAQ:SOFI) and <b>Latch </b>(NASDAQ:LTCH) recently completed their go-public proceedings and have especially promising futures. Here's why I'm buying both right now.</p>\n<h2>SoFi: Helping more people reach \"financial independence\"</h2>\n<p>\"Financial independence\" means different things to different people, but at SoFi, it's all about making its customers' money work for the life they want to live. That's a powerful mission statement. The online-centric institution is working toward it by offering a myriad of products from loans to insurance to investing -- all delivered via <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AONE\">one</a> convenient application.</p>\n<p>This modern take on banking is winning over lots of new customers. As of the end of the first quarter, it had 2.28 million members, an increase of 110% year over year. That growth was in part driven by SoFi more than doubling the number of financial products it has available. Its Galileo Financial Technology subsidiary (which offers software for digital payments and digital banking enablement) had 70 million accounts at the end of Q1, a 130% year-over-year increase.</p>\n<p>While SoFi uses software to deliver banking and financial services in a novel and more accessible package, it's ultimately still a financial institution. Banking and finance aren't exactly the highest-growth industries, and SoFi stock currently trades for 14 times 2021 expected revenue. (Management is guiding for revenue to rise by 58% to $980 million in 2021.) The bank is also barely profitable on an adjusted basis. 2021 adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) are anticipated to be just $27 million for an approximately 3% profit margin.</p>\n<p>However, SoFi's adjusted EBITDA is on track to make a big jump from 2020's negative 7% margin. If it can maintain some of its growth momentum, it could become a highly profitable financial services stock. After a small bank acquisition (which the company is using to jump-start its basic banking services segment), SoFi will also have around $1.5 billion in cash and equivalents from its SPAC merger. That will arm the fast-expanding financial technology firm with ample liquidity to keep the pedal to the metal on the growth front.</p>\n<p>The stock may not be \"cheap,\" but SoFi is picking up lots of young clients through its fresh, cloud-based take on financial services. The long-term thesis for the company remains intact, so I'm planning to buy some more shares in the next month.</p>\n<h2>Latch: Bringing the cloud to the old real estate market</h2>\n<p>Real estate technology specialist Latch also recently made its public debut. This company brings an equally intriguing mission statement to the table: To make spaces better places to live, work, and visit. The company developed the LatchOS operating system, plus a full lineup of software and connected devices to bring some much-needed tech to multifamily buildings. LatchOS addresses the security and access issues that are inherent with apartment buildings (including access for delivery people and other outside service providers) and helps apartment managers streamline their operations (i.e., reduce their expenses).</p>\n<p>The company's end-to-end solution has quickly attracted lots of admirers. Management reports that more than 1 out of every 10 new apartment buildings under construction in the U.S. are integrating LatchOS in their design. The company just announced LatchOS is now available for commercial buildings. This small business is thus in the very early innings of realizing its long-term potential, both domestically and around the globe.</p>\n<p>For some context regarding just how early in its growth story this company is -- Latch's Q1 revenue was a meager $6.6 million, and on the adjusted EBITDA front, it reported a $13.9 million loss. For 2021, revenue is expected to be at least $47 million (up from only $18 million in 2020), but its adjusted EBITDA loss could be as much as $95 million.</p>\n<p>The thing is, Latch is currently in a period in which its long-term contracts with customers are just starting to go live and generate actual revenue. Its total bookings (revenue under contract but not yet realized, which means generating revenue) should end 2021 in the range of $290 million to $325 million. Stated another way, Latch's realized revenues will rise sharply over the next couple of years, and its losses will abate along the way.</p>\n<p>Following its SPAC merger, Latch has some $500 million in liquid assets to help it navigate this early period of expansion before it starts turning a profit. And though the stock is \"expensive,\" given Latch's market cap of $1.8 billion and its currently unimpressive financial results, it looks much more appealing when <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AONE.U\">one</a> considers that this company is anticipating revenue of some $368 million and breakeven free cash flow by 2023.</p>\n<p>Buying shares of a very young company like this isn't for every investor. Variable business results can lead to sharp fluctuations in stock prices, and long-term financial projections can prove wildly off the mark. But I like Latch's mission to bring cloud computing tech to the real estate market, improving the lives of residents and workers, and making building management easier for landlords. The ability to access software and services from anywhere an internet connection can be found is transforming industries and benefiting businesses and consumers alike.\nFinancial services and real estate are just two sectors undergoing rapid change in part because of the cloud. SPAC stocks SoFi (NASDAQ:SOFI) and Latch (NASDAQ:LTCH) recently completed their go-public proceedings and have especially promising futures. Here's why I'm buying both right now.\nSoFi: Helping more people reach \"financial independence\"\n\"Financial independence\" means different things to different people, but at SoFi, it's all about making its customers' money work for the life they want to live. That's a powerful mission statement. The online-centric institution is working toward it by offering a myriad of products from loans to insurance to investing -- all delivered via one convenient application.\nThis modern take on banking is winning over lots of new customers. As of the end of the first quarter, it had 2.28 million members, an increase of 110% year over year. That growth was in part driven by SoFi more than doubling the number of financial products it has available. Its Galileo Financial Technology subsidiary (which offers software for digital payments and digital banking enablement) had 70 million accounts at the end of Q1, a 130% year-over-year increase.\nWhile SoFi uses software to deliver banking and financial services in a novel and more accessible package, it's ultimately still a financial institution. Banking and finance aren't exactly the highest-growth industries, and SoFi stock currently trades for 14 times 2021 expected revenue. (Management is guiding for revenue to rise by 58% to $980 million in 2021.) The bank is also barely profitable on an adjusted basis. 2021 adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) are anticipated to be just $27 million for an approximately 3% profit margin.\nHowever, SoFi's adjusted EBITDA is on track to make a big jump from 2020's negative 7% margin. If it can maintain some of its growth momentum, it could become a highly profitable financial services stock. After a small bank acquisition (which the company is using to jump-start its basic banking services segment), SoFi will also have around $1.5 billion in cash and equivalents from its SPAC merger. That will arm the fast-expanding financial technology firm with ample liquidity to keep the pedal to the metal on the growth front.\nThe stock may not be \"cheap,\" but SoFi is picking up lots of young clients through its fresh, cloud-based take on financial services. The long-term thesis for the company remains intact, so I'm planning to buy some more shares in the next month.\nLatch: Bringing the cloud to the old real estate market\nReal estate technology specialist Latch also recently made its public debut. This company brings an equally intriguing mission statement to the table: To make spaces better places to live, work, and visit. The company developed the LatchOS operating system, plus a full lineup of software and connected devices to bring some much-needed tech to multifamily buildings. LatchOS addresses the security and access issues that are inherent with apartment buildings (including access for delivery people and other outside service providers) and helps apartment managers streamline their operations (i.e., reduce their expenses).\nThe company's end-to-end solution has quickly attracted lots of admirers. Management reports that more than 1 out of every 10 new apartment buildings under construction in the U.S. are integrating LatchOS in their design. The company just announced LatchOS is now available for commercial buildings. This small business is thus in the very early innings of realizing its long-term potential, both domestically and around the globe.\nFor some context regarding just how early in its growth story this company is -- Latch's Q1 revenue was a meager $6.6 million, and on the adjusted EBITDA front, it reported a $13.9 million loss. For 2021, revenue is expected to be at least $47 million (up from only $18 million in 2020), but its adjusted EBITDA loss could be as much as $95 million.\nThe thing is, Latch is currently in a period in which its long-term contracts with customers are just starting to go live and generate actual revenue. Its total bookings (revenue under contract but not yet realized, which means generating revenue) should end 2021 in the range of $290 million to $325 million. Stated another way, Latch's realized revenues will rise sharply over the next couple of years, and its losses will abate along the way.\nFollowing its SPAC merger, Latch has some $500 million in liquid assets to help it navigate this early period of expansion before it starts turning a profit. And though the stock is \"expensive,\" given Latch's market cap of $1.8 billion and its currently unimpressive financial results, it looks much more appealing when one considers that this company is anticipating revenue of some $368 million and breakeven free cash flow by 2023.\nBuying shares of a very young company like this isn't for every investor. Variable business results can lead to sharp fluctuations in stock prices, and long-term financial projections can prove wildly off the mark. But I like Latch's mission to bring cloud computing tech to the real estate market, improving the lives of residents and workers, and making building management easier for landlords. If you've traded cryptocurrencies in the US, you have probably used or heard ofCoinbase. Now thatCoinbase is going public, should you invest in the company?</p><p>At first glance, this investment value proposition seemed compelling since the overall cryptocurrency industry is growing rapidly. However, I have found evidence of 2 fundamental risks toCoinbase's growth that could not justify its current valuation and could even undermine its future growth. Recentreportsmay also express agreement asCoinbase's IPO valuation dropped from $100bn to $68bn.</p><p><b>Fundamental Risks 1: The US Regulatory Landscape</b></p><p>The US regulatory landscape is not friendly to centralized exchanges in a way that massively dampenedCoinbase's competitive advantages, one of which is coin listings.</p><p>Coinbase has the 2nd smallest coin listings</p><p>Coin listing is one of the most crucial criteria for a trader/investor when choosing an exchange. Traders/investors require a large number of coin listings to speculate on small-cap altcoins for 10x-100x return. The more coins listed, the more opportunities and choices. I personally use several exchanges for this very reason other than unique features such as staking and etc. The 6 exchanges I use are Binance, Crypto.com, KuCoin, Bkex, PoloniEx, and MXC Pro.</p><p>Why do I use multiple exchanges? Let me illustrate via an example. KuCoin listed Orion(NYSE:ORN)in July 2020 at $1, about 2 months earlier than Binance in October 2020. I bought ORN through KuCoin on its first day at $1.1 and staked it at &gt;20% APY interest. When Binance announced it was listing ORN, its priced spiked upwards. On ORN's first trading day on Binance, ORN's price spiked up as high as $4++ (it is a common occurrence for a token to spike when it is listed in a new exchange). I redeemed my ORN from staking and sold it at $3.60. This transaction earned me more than 300% return. Therefore, the more coins listed, the more opportunities I'll have to replicate this particular transaction to other small-cap altcoins.</p><p>SinceCoinbase's coin listing is small, traders/investors like myself will find it difficult to find these kinds of opportunities. Furthermore, many of the largest-cap coins are not listed onCoinbase. This is one of the main reasons why I did not useCoinbase; I theorize that many traders/investors like myself feel that way. (Let me know in the comments.)</p><p>In a recent lawsuit, a man claiming to beCoinbase's client capitalized on the legal battle between Ripple Labs’ battle and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), suedCoinbase for selling XRP tokens and sought compensations and other relief. According to CoinMarketCap.com, XRP is no longer listed onCoinbase. However, it is listed on more than500 other centralized exchanges(excluding decentralized exchanges) that are much smaller thanCoinbase outside the US.</p><p>XRP is the 7th biggest cryptocurrency by market cap as of the time of writing. Many other top cryptocurrencies are also not found onCoinbase, such as BNB (ranked 3rd), ADA (ranked 4th), DOT (ranked 6th). Amongthe 10 highest-rated centralized exchanges(refer to Table 1), only Bitstamp (18) offers fewer cryptocurrencies thanCoinbase (49), while the market leader (Binance) ledCoinbase by 700% in coin listings.</p><p>Since regulation can directly affect coin listings, a competitive advantage of an exchange,Coinbase already faces overwhelming challenges to compete on this front alone.</p><p>Table 1: Top 10 Spot Exchange Ranked by CoinMarketCap Ratings.</p><p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/5bf68da62452a794c5daaa60ac989840\" tg-width=\"554\" tg-height=\"576\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\">Source: Table created by Author fromCoinMarketCap</p><p><b>Other Regulatory Risks</b></p><p>Regulatory risks extend beyond coin listings and the US.Coinbase offers its services to52 countries. If any of the 52 countries ban crypto assets, its revenue would be adversely affected. It is not uncommon for centralized exchanges to relocate to another country due to regulations. While India isplotting a move to ban cryptocurrencies, many exchanges apply forlicenses to move out from India.</p><p>Statistically speaking, 108 exchangesshut downin 2020, compared to 81 in 2019. At least 3 are shut down by government(s) in 2020, and at least 2 in 2019.</p><p>Although it seems unlikely for the US to follow China's and India's footsteps to drastically ban crypto-assets now, regulatory risks remain major risks toCoinbase.</p><p><b>Fundamental Risk 2: Losing a Winner-Takes-All Market</b></p><p>There are 2 types of crypto exchanges: centralized and decentralized. Both have pros and cons. The best known centralized exchange is Binance, while the best known decentralized exchange is Uniswap. Although centralized exchanges may require a license by a governing body, decentralized exchanges might not, as decentralized exchanges can have avarying degree of centralized components. Both centralized and decentralized exchanges have their respective roles in the crypto ecosystem, hence I think that both are here to stay.</p><p>Many of the decentralized exchange source codes are open source (full listshere). In other words, virtually anyone can develop and host a decentralized exchange. This implies a shallow barrier to entry. Uniswap is the market leader in the decentralized exchange space. Itrecordedmore than $58bn volume in 2020, up 15,000% from 2019. Note that Uniswap wasfirst launchedin November 2018, compared toCoinbase in 2012.</p><p>On the other hand, Binance, the market leader in the centralized exchange space, recorded a total of$1.417 trillion spot trading volume in 2020, an increase of 36% from 2019. This figure does not even include other trading volumes, such as options, futures, margin, and other services, which amounted to $1.7 trillion, a 2800% increase from 2019.</p><p>In comparison,Coinbase only recorded $445bn total trading volume in 2020, a 39% increase in 2019. This is evidence that the market leader is pulling away, implying a winner-takes-all market. This becomes evident by referring to Table 1, where the market leader has more than 10 times the trading value than the 2nd place (Coinbase).</p><p>Furthermore, many traditional financial, non-financial international corporations and fintech companies are also participating in the competition. One of the latest addition is ApplePay.ApplePaynow has official support for cryptocurrencies, with GooglePay and SamsungPay to follow suit. Other note-worthy companies include Square, Paypal, and Visa.</p><p>In my opinion,Coinbase looks to be on the losing side if this market is indeed a winner-takes-all market. Further,Coinbase could be losing market more market share as more competition arises.</p><p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/01ca6dafd2b567bd920c5e9f8edc8fbb\" tg-width=\"640\" tg-height=\"202\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\">Source:BusinessofApps</p><p><b>Valuation</b></p><p>The tables below showed thatCoinbase's profit margin is healthy at 28% in 2020. Revenue growth rate compounds at approximately 7% annually from 2017-2020, but profits declined.</p><p>Coinbase's valuation in 2017 remains the most attractive, at 1.725 P/S (Price-to-Sales ratio) and 4.21 P/E (Price-to-Earnings ratio). Earlier this month,Coinbase's IPO valuation is pegged at$100bn. However, recent reports indicated a decrease inCoinbase's IPO valuation to$68bn.At a valuation of $100bn and $68bn,Coinbase is valued at approximately 333 P/E and 211 P/E respectively, or approximately 87.7 P/S and 59.65 P/S respectively.</p><p>Coinbase's valuation in 2020 is a far cry from 2017. Perhaps,Coinbase is pushing for its IPO to cash in on the overall stock market's high valuation.</p><p>Nevertheless, considering the 2 fundamental risks outlined above, marginal revenue growth and declined profits,Coinbase is overvalued at the current valuation in my opinion. This is down toCoinbase's 2 fundamental risks outlined in this article, marginal growth, sky-high valuation, and the decline in the growth stocks.</p><p>The reason I retain a neutral outlook onCoinbase is the overall outlook of the industry. On the other hand, we can participate in Binance, the market leader in the centralized exchange space, to maximize investment growth. Although Binance is not publicly traded, we can participate in its growth by buying its platform token (BNB).Binance uses part of its profitsto buy back its platform token (BNB)periodically. This results in a gradual increase in its token's price, a similar effect of shares buyback. Recentreportsmay also express agreement asCoinbase's IPO valuation dropped from $100bn to $68bn.Fundamental Risks 1: The US Regulatory LandscapeThe US regulatory landscape is not friendly to centralized exchanges in a way that massively dampenedCoinbase's competitive advantages, one of which is coin listings.Coinbase has the 2nd smallest coin listingsCoin listing is one of the most crucial criteria for a trader/investor when choosing an exchange. Traders/investors require a large number of coin listings to speculate on small-cap altcoins for 10x-100x return. The more coins listed, the more opportunities and choices. I personally use several exchanges for this very reason other than unique features such as staking and etc. The 6 exchanges I use are Binance, Crypto.com, KuCoin, Bkex, PoloniEx, and MXC Pro.Why do I use multiple exchanges? Let me illustrate via an example. KuCoin listed Orion(NYSE:ORN)in July 2020 at $1, about 2 months earlier than Binance in October 2020. I bought ORN through KuCoin on its first day at $1.1 and staked it at >20% APY interest. When Binance announced it was listing ORN, its priced spiked upwards. On ORN's first trading day on Binance, ORN's price spiked up as high as $4++ (it is a common occurrence for a token to spike when it is listed in a new exchange). I redeemed my ORN from staking and sold it at $3.60. This transaction earned me more than 300% return. Therefore, the more coins listed, the more opportunities I'll have to replicate this particular transaction to other small-cap altcoins.SinceCoinbase's coin listing is small, traders/investors like myself will find it difficult to find these kinds of opportunities. If any of the 52 countries ban crypto assets, its revenue would be adversely affected. It is not uncommon for centralized exchanges to relocate to another country due to regulations. While India isplotting a move to ban cryptocurrencies, many exchanges apply forlicenses to move out from India.Statistically speaking, 108 exchangesshut downin 2020, compared to 81 in 2019. At least 3 are shut down by government(s) in 2020, and at least 2 in 2019.Although it seems unlikely for the US to follow China's and India's footsteps to drastically ban crypto-assets now, regulatory risks remain major risks toCoinbase.Fundamental Risk 2: Losing a Winner-Takes-All MarketThere are 2 types of crypto exchanges: centralized and decentralized. Both have pros and cons. The best known centralized exchange is Binance, while the best known decentralized exchange is Uniswap. Although centralized exchanges may require a license by a governing body, decentralized exchanges might not, as decentralized exchanges can have avarying degree of centralized components. Both centralized and decentralized exchanges have their respective roles in the crypto ecosystem, hence I think that both are here to stay.Many of the decentralized exchange source codes are open source (full listshere). In other words, virtually anyone can develop and host a decentralized exchange. This implies a shallow barrier to entry. Uniswap is the market leader in the decentralized exchange space. Itrecordedmore than $58bn volume in 2020, up 15,000% from 2019. Note that Uniswap wasfirst launchedin November 2018, compared toCoinbase in 2012.On the other hand, Binance, the market leader in the centralized exchange space, recorded a total of$1.417 trillion spot trading volume in 2020, an increase of 36% from 2019. This figure does not even include other trading volumes, such as options, futures, margin, and other services, which amounted to $1.7 trillion, a 2800% increase from 2019.In comparison,Coinbase only recorded $445bn total trading volume in 2020, a 39% increase in 2019. This is evidence that the market leader is pulling away, implying a winner-takes-all market. This becomes evident by referring to Table 1, where the market leader has more than 10 times the trading value than the 2nd place (Coinbase).Furthermore, many traditional financial, non-financial international corporations and fintech companies are also participating in the competition. big data dynamo continuing to knock things out of the park? Or is it a bet that the “growth at any price” environment that the market continues to be in will stay intact? The answer is a little bit of Column A, but mostly Column B.</p>\n<p>As shown by its latest earnings report, the company is still knocking the ball out of the park. It beat analysts’ average&nbsp; revenue estimates for the second quarter. And that growth was driven not by its government business, but by its commercial segment. That may signal that the company has more than deep ties with the U.S. federal government on its side.</p>\n<p>Even so, a lot of the stock’s continued strength is derived from the fact that it benefits the most from the U.S. Federal Reserve’s aggressive monetary policy. As a result, its shares will likely remain strong until that policy changes.</p>\n<p>Of course,&nbsp; the Fed’s easy money policies may soon be over, creating a problem for PLTR stock. If the market enters a correction following tightening moves by the central bank, stocks like Palantir could suffer outsized declines.</p>\n<p>But that doesn’t exactly make the shares a sell. Those who believe that the market will experience a soft rather than a hard landing following the Fed’s tightening may think that the long-term potential of Palantir’s&nbsp;“wonderful business”&nbsp; outweighs any possible temporary declines.</p>\n<p><b>Palantir’s Earnings and Why You Shouldn’t Bet Against It</b></p>\n<p>After growing its sales 49% year-over-year&nbsp;in Q2, Palantir remains firmly on the growth train. Not only that, but its success last quarter came from an area that used to be one of its weaknesses. Specifically, its sales to the private sector jumped a stunning 90% year-over-year.</p>\n<p>That stat may put to bed one of the key arguments that bears have made about PLTR stock: their belief that its struggles winning over commercial clients will shorten its growth runway. If the company’s commercial growth continues at similar rates in the upcoming quarters, it could meet or beat its goal of achieving long-term annual revenue growth above 30%.</p>\n<p>One factor that could keep it in high growth mode is its&nbsp;unique strategy of locking in&nbsp; customers over the long-term. That strategy is its PIPE (private investment in public equity) investments in scores of SPACs (special purpose acquisition companies). The SPACs in which it’s invested $310 million purchased just $3 million of its services last quarter. But the company believes that over the long-term, the potential value of the contracts from these clients could be as much as $428 million.</p>\n<p>Palantir’s blowout quarter shows that, despite the hype surrounding the company, no one should bet against. But the stock isn’t&nbsp; bulletproof.</p>\n<p>Again, much of the strong&nbsp; performance of PLTR stock since its debut last fall has been driven by the market’s continued love for high-flying growth names like Palantir. That may be set to change, depending on how the market reacts to the Federal Reserve’s policy changes in the months ahead.</p>\n<p><b>A Correction Could Punish Palantir Stock</b></p>\n<p>Following Palantir’s Q2 earnings, PLTR stock has started to bounce back. In recent weeks, the shares have climbed back from roughly $22 to around $24.87 per share as of yesterday’s market close.</p>\n<p>With&nbsp; the stock’s rich valuation, it may be tough for the shares to make another leap higher. At today’s prices, the stock trades at a forward price-earnings, or P/E, ratio of 153 times. Its forward price-sales ratio&nbsp; of 32 times is sky-high as well.</p>\n<p>Given this factor, the shares may continue to hold steady near their current prices. But while it may be tough for Palantir to add to its gains, a negative catalyst could send it much lower.</p>\n<p>That is the Fed’s likely policy changes, which could soon kick off. As “bond king” Jeffrey Gundlach recently stated in an interview, the start of the Fed’s bond tapering program could&nbsp;put pressure on the stock market. Growth stocks like Palantir would be the most affected by such a development.</p>\n<p>Tightening by the Fed may not push PLTR stock back down to its single-digit lows. Yet even after a 50% drop, its P/E ratio would still be 76.4 times. It beat analysts’ average  revenue estimates for the second quarter. And that growth was driven not by its government business, but by its commercial segment. That may signal that the company has more than deep ties with the U.S. federal government on its side.\nEven so, a lot of the stock’s continued strength is derived from the fact that it benefits the most from the U.S. Federal Reserve’s aggressive monetary policy. As a result, its shares will likely remain strong until that policy changes.\nOf course,  the Fed’s easy money policies may soon be over, creating a problem for PLTR stock. If the market enters a correction following tightening moves by the central bank, stocks like Palantir could suffer outsized declines.\nBut that doesn’t exactly make the shares a sell. Those who believe that the market will experience a soft rather than a hard landing following the Fed’s tightening may think that the long-term potential of Palantir’s “wonderful business”  outweighs any possible temporary declines.\nPalantir’s Earnings and Why You Shouldn’t Bet Against It\nAfter growing its sales 49% year-over-year in Q2, Palantir remains firmly on the growth train. Not only that, but its success last quarter came from an area that used to be one of its weaknesses. Specifically, its sales to the private sector jumped a stunning 90% year-over-year.\nThat stat may put to bed one of the key arguments that bears have made about PLTR stock: their belief that its struggles winning over commercial clients will shorten its growth runway. If the company’s commercial growth continues at similar rates in the upcoming quarters, it could meet or beat its goal of achieving long-term annual revenue growth above 30%.\nOne factor that could keep it in high growth mode is its unique strategy of locking in  customers over the long-term. That strategy is its PIPE (private investment in public equity) investments in scores of SPACs (special purpose acquisition companies). The SPACs in which it’s invested $310 million purchased just $3 million of its services last quarter. In recent weeks, the shares have climbed back from roughly $22 to around $24.87 per share as of yesterday’s market close.\nWith  the stock’s rich valuation, it may be tough for the shares to make another leap higher. At today’s prices, the stock trades at a forward price-earnings, or P/E, ratio of 153 times. Its forward price-sales ratio  of 32 times is sky-high as well.\nGiven this factor, the shares may continue to hold steady near their current prices. But while it may be tough for Palantir to add to its gains, a negative catalyst could send it much lower.\nThat is the Fed’s likely policy changes, which could soon kick off.
