However, now crypto has plunged and reopening stocks are taking on water as well amid a surge in COVID-19 virus variants.
\n
A recent Federal Reserve decision caused a big swing in interest rates, which has led to investors selling value stocks and buying growth stocks instead. As if that weren't enough, tech got another boost this week as a federal court blocked a key antitrust lawsuit against Facebook (ticker:FB). This has seemingly given the green light to other large tech companies to keep expanding their businesses as well. With all that in place, this is shaping up to be a good summer for tech stocks, including these five in particular:
\n
\n
Facebook (FB)
\n
Alphabet (GOOG,GOOGL)
\n
Blackbaud (BLKB)
\n
Jack Henry & Associates (JKHY)
\n
Texas Instruments (TXN)
\n
\n
Facebook (FB)
\n
In late June, a federal court dismissed antitrust charges against Facebook. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) had claimed that Facebook was acting as a monopoly in social media. The FTC, if it had its way, would have tried to force Facebook to divest its other pivotal holdings, including WhatsApp and Instagram, to create a more competitive social media landscape.
\n
However, the federal court said the FTC failed to prove that Facebook was a monopoly. Facebook stock popped on the news and topped a $1 trillion valuation for the first time.
\n
Arguably, however, the stock should be up a lot more. Shares are still trading for just 23 times forward earnings while analysts forecast nearly 20% annual revenue growth in 2022 and 2023. Now, with the threat of government intervention gone, Facebook is even more compelling.
\n
Alphabet (GOOG,GOOGL)
\n
The court's ruling has broader implications. While Facebook was the target in that case, it's no secret that regulators have been looking at most of the tech titans as potential monopolies, perhaps none more than Alphabet.
\n
Google's search business has massive market share in online advertising. And the search business is hooked into its operating system and applications such as Gmail to extend its reach. Google's other ventures, such asself-driving carsubsidiary Waymo, could extend Google's domain into next-generation technology as well.
\n
In announcing a lawsuit against Alphabet last year, Texas' attorney general said that \"if the free market were a baseball game, Google positioned itself as the pitcher, the batter and the umpire.\" Now, however, with Facebook clear of antitrust concerns, it sets a precedent for Google to avoid a major regulatory punishment as well.
\n
Alphabet stock isn't as cheap as Facebook, but at 26 times forward earnings and approximately 15% projected annual revenue growth, it has earned its spot as one of the best tech stocks to buy now.
\n
Blackbaud (BLKB)
\n
Blackbaud is a software company focused on charitable organization and K-12 schools. Its primary business is in providing software for charities to receive payments and manage their relationships with donors. The company estimates that 25% of charitable giving in 2020 occurred via Blackbaud's platform.
\n
Charitable giving was disrupted in 2020 due to the pandemic, though some organizations saw an uptick in activity as people donated in the wake of the twin tragedies of theeconomic recessionand health crisis. Still, 2020 wasn't a great year for Blackbaud. More broadly, Blackbaud has been in transition from on-premise software to a subscription cloud offering.
\n
Such transitions in tech stocks are often met with stock price weakness as investors grapple with less upfront revenue from the subscription model. That creates opportunity now, however, to buy a leading niche software player at less than 26 times forward earnings with a reopening tailwind as charities can start having in-person events once again.
\n
Jack Henry (JKHY)
\n
Jack Henry is a leading payment processing and informationtechnology company; its main clients are banks and credit unions. The company has an extremely stable business that barely missed a beat even during the financial crisis. Since then, Jack Henry stock has gone up more than 500% thanks to steady growth in the overall demand for payments and financial services.
\n
That said, Jack Henry stock has gone flat as investors fret over the health of the banking and financial system in the COVID-19 era. More recently, it has become apparent that credit-quality concerns didn't end up causing much material harm to banks. As the economy is picking up in 2021, the banks are roaring back; financials have been one of the top-performing sectors this year.
\n
With that risk now off the table, Jack Henry is primed to follow suit and blast off to new all-time highs. In addition, the company earns a significant chunk of high-margin business from mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activity in the banking sector. Withbank stockssoaring, M&A is on the rise, and this should directly boost Jack Henry's earnings.
\n
Texas Instruments (TXN)
\n
Texas Instruments is the leader in analogsemiconductor chips. This is a business that focuses on taking real-world parameters such as weather information and converting it into data for digital use. This line of chips is increasingly important as the Internet of Things grows and more devices than ever are online.
\n
Texas Instruments is making a particularly big push in smart cars, and should sell a large chunk of the chipsets that end up going into autonomous vehicles. In late June, Texas Instruments also announced that it's buying a fabricating unit in Utah from Micron Technology (MU) for $900 million as the company continues to execute on its growth plan.
\n
Texas Instruments is benefiting from the current semiconductor shortage, which puts it in a good position for better pricing and profit margins going forward. The company has a prodigious growth record, having tripled its earnings per share over the past decade. Now, it trades for just 24 times forward earnings, which is quite reasonable in a bull market for the industry.
","source":"lsy1584348713084","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
5 of the Best Tech Stocks to Buy for July
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n5 of the Best Tech Stocks to Buy for July\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-07-03 12:36 GMT+8 yahoo\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Tech stocks are back on the upswing.\nIt was a rough spring for the technology sector, as traders instead turned their attention to reopening stocks along withcryptocurrenciesand meme plays. That creates opportunity now, however, to buy a leading niche software player at less than 26 times forward earnings with a reopening tailwind as charities can start having in-person events once again.\nJack Henry (JKHY)\nJack Henry is a leading payment processing and informationtechnology company; its main clients are banks and credit unions. The company has an extremely stable business that barely missed a beat even during the financial crisis. Since then, Jack Henry stock has gone up more than 500% thanks to steady growth in the overall demand for payments and financial services.\nThat said, Jack Henry stock has gone flat as investors fret over the health of the banking and financial system in the COVID-19 era. More recently, it has become apparent that credit-quality concerns didn't end up causing much material harm to banks. As the economy is picking up in 2021, the banks are roaring back; financials have been one of the top-performing sectors this year.\nWith that risk now off the table, Jack Henry is primed to follow suit and blast off to new all-time highs. In addition, the company earns a significant chunk of high-margin business from mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activity in the banking sector. Withbank stockssoaring, M&A is on the rise, and this should directly boost Jack Henry's earnings.\nTexas Instruments (TXN)\nTexas Instruments is the leader in analogsemiconductor chips. This is a business that focuses on taking real-world parameters such as weather information and converting it into data for digital use. This line of chips is increasingly important as the Internet of Things grows and more devices than ever are online.\nTexas Instruments is making a particularly big push in smart cars, and should sell a large chunk of the chipsets that end up going into autonomous vehicles. In late June, Texas Instruments also announced that it's buying a fabricating unit in Utah from Micron Technology (MU) for $900 million as the company continues to execute on its growth plan.\nTexas Instruments is benefiting from the current semiconductor shortage, which puts it in a good position for better pricing and profit margins going forward. The company has a prodigious growth record, having tripled its earnings per share over the past decade. Now, it trades for just 24 times forward earnings, which is quite reasonable in a bull market for the industry.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":357,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":156733838,"gmtCreate":1625236288324,"gmtModify":1703739154510,"author":{"id":"3575971055509237","authorId":"3575971055509237","name":"MrNewman","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/530fe22e84a93f106f3c10b865f30180","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3575971055509237","authorIdStr":"3575971055509237"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Yes","listText":"Yes","text":"Yes","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/156733838","repostId":"1199465914","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":227,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":156794570,"gmtCreate":1625236198090,"gmtModify":1703739148527,"author":{"id":"3575971055509237","authorId":"3575971055509237","name":"MrNewman","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/530fe22e84a93f106f3c10b865f30180","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3575971055509237","authorIdStr":"3575971055509237"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Nice!","listText":"Nice!","text":"Nice!","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/156794570","repostId":"1196057674","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1196057674","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Stock Market Quotes, Business News, Financial News, Trading Ideas, and Stock Research by Professionals","home_visible":0,"media_name":"Benzinga","id":"1052270027","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d08bf7808052c0ca9deb4e944cae32aa"},"pubTimestamp":1625229715,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1196057674?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-07-02 20:41","market":"us","language":"en","title":"5 Warren Buffett Favorites To Keep An Eye On","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1196057674","media":"Benzinga","summary":"Legendary investor Warren Buffett has posted an impressive 21% year-to-date return for his flagship Berkshire Hathaway Inc in the first half of 2021.Here's a look at five stocks owned by Buffett and Berkshire Hathaway that could see strong gains in the second half of 2021.Aonreportedfirst-quarter revenue up 10% year-over-year, including organic revenue growth of 6%. Minnesota man criminally charged this month with securities fraud in a scheme to hijack dormant shell companies also may have recently seized control of a Florida penny-stock company, or at least tried to, court filings suggest.\nFederal prosecutors and the Securities and Exchange Commission in separatecriminalandcivil actionsfiled in Minnesota federal court this month accuse Mark Miller of using bogus documents to take over inactive shell companies and falsely inflate their stock prices, before selling millions of shares for profit.\nMiller, a 43-year-old general contractor, is a resident of Breezy Point, Minnesota, where he had been a Republican member of city council until resigning days after his indictment.\nAccording to prosecutors, Miller, his criminal case co-defendant Saied Jaberian and an unidentified relative of Miller actually became the nominal CEOs and presidents of the companies targeted in the alleged scam.\nCivil court documents filed in Florida starting in February show a Minnesota man with the same name, Mark Miller, engaged in efforts to take over another dormant shell company,New World Gold Corp.\nNew World Gold, which purports to be in the business of mining gold ore, is not one of seven companies identified as targets of Miller's purported scheme in the federal criminal case or in the civil SEC case, which are pending in Minnesota federal court.\nBut Florida court filings, press releases and social media activity surrounding New World Gold mirror allegations against Miller and his two co-defendants in the \"pump and dump\" scheme described in Minnesota court by federal prosecutors and securities regulators.\nNew World Gold's shares haveincreased in both price and trading volumein the past several months, ever since a man named Mark Miller filed the actions in Florida court seeking to control the company.\nA day afterCNBC broke the news of the criminal indictmentagainst Miller on June 18, New World Gold issued a statement on Twitter claiming that \"Mark Miller\" is not affiliated with the company.\nNew World Gold did not say that the \"Mark Miller\" who was connected to that company in court filings is a different Mark Miller from the one who was indicted in Minnesota.\nA number of people who follow the company on stock discussion boards pointed out that the company also did not explain why it would disclaim a connection to Mark Miller if that person was not the individual criminally charged in Minnesota.\nRobert Lengeling, Miller's criminal defense lawyer in Minnesota, declined to comment, and his client did not respond to CNBC's requests for comment.\n'Pump and dump'\nFederal prosecutors in Minnesota say Miller targeted at least four shell companies in the scheme that is the subject of the indictment against him and his co-defendants in the criminal case, Jaberian and Christopher James Rajkaran.\nThat indictment said the men allegedly used fake resignation letters from officials of the companies to seize control of the dormant companies.\nThey then issued false or misleading statements via press releases and social media, as well as the SEC's own EDGAR public filing system, to claim the companies had attractive new business opportunities, according to the charges.\nMiller and his alleged co-conspirators bought millions of shares of these companies, often for less than a penny, then sold those shares after pumping up the stock price with their fraudulent claims, the indictment said.\nProsecutors believe Miller and his associates made hundreds of thousands of dollars in illicit profits from the alleged scheme, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney's Office in Minnesota told CNBC.\nThe companies were identified in the indictment as Digitiliti,Encompass Holdings,Bell Buckle HoldingsandUtilicraft Aerospace Industries.\nThe SEC, in its civil lawsuit filed June 18 against Miller alone, identified three additional penny-stock companies also believed to be similarly targeted by Miller, beyond the four identified in the criminal case. Those three companies are Bebida Beverage Company,Simulated Environment ConceptsandStrategic Asset Leasing.\nMiller and New World Gold\nAll seven companies, like New World Gold, had been inactive before Miller got involved with them, court filings say.\nThe Florida Division of Corporationsdatabaseindicated that New World Gold was reinstated on that database on June 4, after having been dormant for more than five years.\nThe company's shares trade publicly on the over-the-counter market. New World Gold is listed by OTC Markets Group on its \"Pink\" platform, with a \"No Information\" warning. The \"company may not be making material information publicly available,\" that warning says.\nThe business hasno record of any SEC filings, which include a company's quarterly and annual financial statements, changes in executive positions, and other documents typically used by professionals and investors to make informed decisions about whether to buy or sell shares.\nNew World Gold's reappearance on the Florida state corporate database came almost four months after someone identifying himself as a Minnesota resident named Mark Miller filed a lawsuit in Florida'sPalm Beach County courtagainst New World Gold, seeking an order to hold a shareholder meeting.\nA Palm Beach County judge in April granted the motion and ordered a shareholder meeting to be held on May 27, court records show.\nMiller said in a June 17 court filing that during that shareholder meeting, \"a motion was made to remove an existing director (who is physically incapacitated) and to have Mr. Miller elected as director.\"\nThe same filing claims shareholders voted unanimously to elect Miller as director.\nNew World Gold claimed in a June 11press releasethat it acquired a mining business in Wyoming with access to gold and lithium. Lithium is a material used in batteries for personal electronics, as well as for electric vehicles.\nA week later, on June 18, a press releaseclaimed New World Gold had identified property in Nevada and South Dakota for mining.\nThe company said in apress releaseFriday that it had \"officially acquired\" a placer claim in South Dakota.\nPosts on Twitter, Stocktwits, Reddit and Investors Hub referenced Miller as CEO of New World Gold.\n\"$NWGC power hour definitely still at a buy I bought some more off this little dip!! I have trust in the new CEO Mark Miller,\" one Twitter usersaidon June 1.\n\"I think we get a lithium announcement with $nwgc,\" another user tweeted on June 3.\n\"I followed the CEO on twitter Mark Miller ... I expect him to drop BOMBS tomorrow!!!\"\nBut the companytweetedon June 4 that it appointed Ohio lawyer Bob Honigford as its CEO and director.\nA search for Honigford in the SEC documents database returns no results. He did not respond to requests for comment by CNBC.\n\"So, no Mark Miller....,\" a user said in aReddit forum called NWGCShareholders.\n\"This is terrible news,\" another user chimed in.\n\"Mark was the guy to get investor attention and reinstatement. Bob actually does business in the field,\" a different user said in the same thread.\nNew World Gold's stock price peaked on June 3 at around 4 cents.\nBut by Friday it was trading at less than a penny. That still was more than 8,000% higher than its 52-week low in December, before Miller's lawsuit.\nThe 30-day average trading volume of New World Gold shares is more than 146 million shares changing hands per day.\nNew World Gold responds\nFollowing CNBC's reporting on Miller's indictment, New World Gold tweeted that Miller was not connected to the company, despite claims to the contrary in the Palm Beach County complaint.\n\"Miller has no control over Corporate activity or news releases, and he is NOT involved with the future expansion of Operations,\" New World Goldtweetedon June 19.\nDavid Rothstein, the lawyer representing Mark Miller in the Palm Beach County court lawsuit involving New World Gold, likewise did not respond to a request for comment.\nCNBC could not reach New World Gold at the email address listed on its press releases.\nThe SEC did not respond to CNBC's requests for comment.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":199,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"hots":[{"id":140955094,"gmtCreate":1625625358518,"gmtModify":1703745173251,"author":{"id":"3575971055509237","authorId":"3575971055509237","name":"MrNewman","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/530fe22e84a93f106f3c10b865f30180","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3575971055509237","authorIdStr":"3575971055509237"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Haha","listText":"Haha","text":"Haha","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/140955094","repostId":"1118965242","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1118965242","pubTimestamp":1625625168,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1118965242?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-07-07 10:32","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Maker of $2,000 Barbecue Grill Traeger Files for U.S. IPO","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1118965242","media":"Bloomberg","summary":"Traeger Inc., a maker of fancy barbecue grills, filed to go public in the U.S. -- right after much o","content":"
Traeger Inc., a maker of fancy barbecue grills, filed to go public in the U.S. -- right after much of the country pulled out grills for July 4 celebrations.
\n
The company, currently named TGPX Holdings I, has put down a listing size of $100 million, a placeholder amount that will likely change, documentswith the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission showed.
However, now crypto has plunged and reopening stocks are taking on water as well amid a surge in COVID-19 virus variants.\nA recent Federal Reserve decision caused a big swing in interest rates, which has led to investors selling value stocks and buying growth stocks instead. As if that weren't enough, tech got another boost this week as a federal court blocked a key antitrust lawsuit against Facebook (ticker:FB). This has seemingly given the green light to other large tech companies to keep expanding their businesses as well. With all that in place, this is shaping up to be a good summer for tech stocks, including these five in particular:\n\nFacebook (FB)\nAlphabet (GOOG,GOOGL)\nBlackbaud (BLKB)\nJack Henry & Associates (JKHY)\nTexas Instruments (TXN)\n\nFacebook (FB)\nIn late June, a federal court dismissed antitrust charges against Facebook. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) had claimed that Facebook was acting as a monopoly in social media. The FTC, if it had its way, would have tried to force Facebook to divest its other pivotal holdings, including WhatsApp and Instagram, to create a more competitive social media landscape.\nHowever, the federal court said the FTC failed to prove that Facebook was a monopoly. Facebook stock popped on the news and topped a $1 trillion valuation for the first time.\nArguably, however, the stock should be up a lot more. Shares are still trading for just 23 times forward earnings while analysts forecast nearly 20% annual revenue growth in 2022 and 2023. Now, with the threat of government intervention gone, Facebook is even more compelling.\nAlphabet (GOOG,GOOGL)\nThe court's ruling has broader implications. While Facebook was the target in that case, it's no secret that regulators have been looking at most of the tech titans as potential monopolies, perhaps none more than Alphabet.\nGoogle's search business has massive market share in online advertising. And the search business is hooked into its operating system and applications such as Gmail to extend its reach. Google's other ventures, such asself-driving carsubsidiary Waymo, could extend Google's domain into next-generation technology as well.\nIn announcing a lawsuit against Alphabet last year, Texas' attorney general said that \"if the free market were a baseball game, Google positioned itself as the pitcher, the batter and the umpire.\" Now, however, with Facebook clear of antitrust concerns, it sets a precedent for Google to avoid a major regulatory punishment as well.\nAlphabet stock isn't as cheap as Facebook, but at 26 times forward earnings and approximately 15% projected annual revenue growth, it has earned its spot as one of the best tech stocks to buy now.\nBlackbaud (BLKB)\nBlackbaud is a software company focused on charitable organization and K-12 schools. Its primary business is in providing software for charities to receive payments and manage their relationships with donors. The company estimates that 25% of charitable giving in 2020 occurred via Blackbaud's platform.\nCharitable giving was disrupted in 2020 due to the pandemic, though some organizations saw an uptick in activity as people donated in the wake of the twin tragedies of theeconomic recessionand health crisis. Still, 2020 wasn't a great year for Blackbaud. More broadly, Blackbaud has been in transition from on-premise software to a subscription cloud offering.\nSuch transitions in tech stocks are often met with stock price weakness as investors grapple with less upfront revenue from the subscription model. Now, it trades for just 24 times forward earnings, which is quite reasonable in a bull market for the industry.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":357,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":140954933,"gmtCreate":1625625422222,"gmtModify":1703745174739,"author":{"id":"3575971055509237","authorId":"3575971055509237","name":"MrNewman","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/530fe22e84a93f106f3c10b865f30180","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3575971055509237","authorIdStr":"3575971055509237"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Oh nooo","listText":"Oh nooo","text":"Oh nooo","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/140954933","repostId":"1122166072","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1122166072","pubTimestamp":1625613844,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1122166072?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-07-07 07:24","market":"us","language":"en","title":"U.S. stock futures are slightly lower after S&P 500 snaps 7-day winning streak","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1122166072","media":"CNBC","summary":"U.S. stock futures opened slightly lower Tuesday night after the S&P 500 ended a seven-day winning streak, its longest since August.Dow Jones Industrial Average futures fell by 54 points, or 0.16%. Slowing down the bond buying would be the Fed’s first major retreat from the easy policies it put in place when the economy shut down last year.\nThe end of the Fed’s $120 billion a month in Treasury and mortgage purchases would also signal that the central bank’s next move could be to raise interest rates.\nWeekly mortgage applications and the Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey are also scheduled to be released Wednesday.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":351,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":156794570,"gmtCreate":1625236198090,"gmtModify":1703739148527,"author":{"id":"3575971055509237","authorId":"3575971055509237","name":"MrNewman","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/530fe22e84a93f106f3c10b865f30180","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3575971055509237","authorIdStr":"3575971055509237"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Nice!","listText":"Nice!","text":"Nice!","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/156794570","repostId":"1196057674","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":483,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":149725780,"gmtCreate":1625750038140,"gmtModify":1703747744370,"author":{"id":"3575971055509237","authorId":"3575971055509237","name":"MrNewman","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/530fe22e84a93f106f3c10b865f30180","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3575971055509237","authorIdStr":"3575971055509237"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Nice!","listText":"Nice!","text":"Nice!","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/149725780","repostId":"1169240809","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1169240809","pubTimestamp":1625748735,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1169240809?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-07-08 20:52","market":"hk","language":"en","title":"Keymed Makes Hong Kong Debut, Raises $378 million","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1169240809","media":"Investing.com","summary":"Investing.com – Keymed Biosciences Inc. Pretty much chump change for small investors.
\n
One would need to own 50 shares worth around $40,000 to collect enough dividend to buy a Big Breakfast meal from McDonald's (MCD) in New York, every three months. If you are a retiree, banking entirely on Nvidia's dividends to get by, you would need to own loads and loads of NVDA shares to avoid going hungry.
\n
Is Nvidia A Good Dividend Stock?
\n
Since my commentaryNvidia: Highly Anticipated Stock Split Is A Shot In The Armwas published on May 24, NVDA stock has climbed over 30 percent. The huge jump in share price in just over a month has some calling it a \"crowded trade\".
\n
This is especially because Nvidia Corporation is not a small-cap company. Its market capitalization is around $500 billion. This means Nvidia is 16.7 times larger than AMC Entertainment Holdings, Inc. (AMC) by market cap, and that's after the latter's over 2,500 percent year-to-date gain. Similarly, Nvidia's market cap is more than 30 times higher than another meme stock GameStop Corp. (GME) despite the latter's over 4,700 percent appreciation over the past year.
\n
The resulting puny dividend yield unsurprisingly caused Nvidia to get an F grade in Seeking Alpha'sDividend Scorecard. That's particularly embarrassing considering the grades are relative to the Information Technology sector which provides it with low bars to clear.
\n
Source: Seeking Alpha Premium
\n
For instance, the Information Technology sector has a median dividend yield of 1.2 percent, as compared with the Materials sector's 1.7 percent. Nvidia also scored poorly on other metrics like operating earnings yield and free cash flow yield. This is understandable given that these are near the lowest levels Nvidia has ever experienced since it started its dividend scheme in 2012. The operating earnings yield is derived by taking the operating income and dividing it by the market capitalization.
\n

\n
Nvidia Corporation fared better in the other three categories - dividend safety, dividend growth, and dividend consistency. In terms of dividend safety, NVDA stock scored an A+, though that's as much due to its strong financials as its conservative dividend payout.
\n
Nvidia's payout ratio is 7.4 percent, against the sector median of 32 percent. This means that the chipmaker is giving out less of its earnings as dividends compared with its sectorial peers. Its cash dividend payout ratio is slightly better at 7.2 percent, against the sector median of 22.5 percent. The cash dividend payout ratio is a preferred metric as it uses cash flow rather than earnings that can be manipulated.
\n

\n
Nvidia's dividend cover on a trailing-twelve-month basis is at its highest historically at 13.2 times, surpassing the previous peak in 2018. It is also in a healthy net cash position, after digesting the $7 billionacquisitionof Mellanox Technologies, Ltd. that closed in April last year. The Mellanox deal saw Nvidia issuing $5 billion of notes.
\n

\n
Will The Arm Deal Derail Nvidia's Dividend Payout?
\n
The proposedacquisitionof Arm Limited from SoftBank Group Corp. (OTCPK:SFTBY)(OTCPK:SFTBF) and the SoftBank Vision Fund was announced in September. The transaction is valued at $40 billion or 5.7 times larger than the Mellanox deal. Inevitably, the concern is whether the large purchase will impact the ability of Nvidia to continue its dividend program.
\n
The worry may be unfounded as the bulk of the $40 billion - $21.5 billion - will be satisfied by the issuance of Nvidia shares. Another $5 billion, out of the $40 billion, that SoftBank could receive under an earn-out construct, subject to satisfaction of specific financial performance targets by Arm, may be satisfied in cash or common stock. Nvidia will also issue $1.5 billion in equity to Arm employees.
\n
This leaves a payment of $12 billion in cash, which includes $2 billion payable at signing. The company stated that it planned to finance the cash portion of the transaction with balance sheet cash. Based on the May 2021 quarterly report, Nvidia has enough to pay with some change. It has $12.7 billion in combined cash and equivalents as well as short-term investments.
\n
Furthermore, Nvidia still has months to build up that cash before the clearance by antitrust regulators around the world to conclude the deal. Most importantly, the press release stated that theArm dealwill be \"immediately accretive to NVIDIA’s non-GAAP gross margin and EPS.\"
\n
Will Nvidia's Dividend Grow? Is Nvidia A Good Dividend Stock For Long-term Investors?
\n
Nvidia Corporation became a dividend-paying company more than eight years ago with a quarterly dividend of $0.075 declared on 8 November 2012. The dividend amount has since doubled to $0.16, beginning from 15 November 2018.
\n
Source: Seeking Alpha Premium
\n
Wall Street analysts are not expecting Nvidia to change its dividend amount until 2023 when the consensus forecast is for the dividend to increase to $0.68 on an annual basis. That would bump the dividend yield slightly to 0.09 percent if the share price remains the same.
\n
Source: Seeking Alpha Premium
\n
Although we don't have dividend visibility beyond 2023, we can get some clues from the EPS estimates. Analysts are projecting Nvidia's EPS to more than triple in a decade, as compared to the year ending January 2021. In general, we should be expecting that the dividend grows along with the EPS. Otherwise, we can count on activist shareholders hounding the management to do so.
\n
Source: Seeking Alpha Premium
\n
The icing on the cake would be a better-than-expected EPS, which corresponds to higher dividend expectation as well. Nvidia has delivered rather consistent, decent-sized, earnings surprises in the past few years, boding well for its future performance.
\n
Source: Seeking Alpha Premium
\n
Is NVDA Stock A Buy Now?
\n
With Nvidia scoring an A in momentum based on Seeking Alpha's quant rating, the stock is arguably for momentum traders. For the others, the rapid rise in the share price has left the market wondering if there will be a pullback as the stock catches a breather.
\n
The price target upside for Nvidia is a negative 8.4 percent. This means that the stock has run ahead of the analysts' consensus price target. While having a negative price target upside is not uncommon for Nvidia, it is still a strong indication that investors need to strongly consider whether the potential for appreciation remains attractive. This is especially as analysts have already made sharp upwards revisions to their price targets in the past weeks.
\n
Data by YCharts
\n
The company's involvement in data centers, autonomous driving, gaming, and artificial intelligence applications are exciting developments. However, investors would need to consider if these catalysts are already priced into the stock. Investors who had been \"burned\" by the sharp falls in the so-called growth stocks in the previous quarter would advise against chasing Nvidia's share price climb.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Is Nvidia A Good Dividend Stock? The operating earnings yield is derived by taking the operating income and dividing it by the market capitalization.\n\nNvidia Corporation fared better in the other three categories - dividend safety, dividend growth, and dividend consistency. In terms of dividend safety, NVDA stock scored an A+, though that's as much due to its strong financials as its conservative dividend payout.\nNvidia's payout ratio is 7.4 percent, against the sector median of 32 percent. This means that the chipmaker is giving out less of its earnings as dividends compared with its sectorial peers. Its cash dividend payout ratio is slightly better at 7.2 percent, against the sector median of 22.5 percent. The cash dividend payout ratio is a preferred metric as it uses cash flow rather than earnings that can be manipulated.\n\nNvidia's dividend cover on a trailing-twelve-month basis is at its highest historically at 13.2 times, surpassing the previous peak in 2018. It is also in a healthy net cash position, after digesting the $7 billionacquisitionof Mellanox Technologies, Ltd. that closed in April last year. The Mellanox deal saw Nvidia issuing $5 billion of notes.\n\nWill The Arm Deal Derail Nvidia's Dividend Payout?\nThe proposedacquisitionof Arm Limited from SoftBank Group Corp. (OTCPK:SFTBY)(OTCPK:SFTBF) and the SoftBank Vision Fund was announced in September. The transaction is valued at $40 billion or 5.7 times larger than the Mellanox deal. Inevitably, the concern is whether the large purchase will impact the ability of Nvidia to continue its dividend program.\nThe worry may be unfounded as the bulk of the $40 billion - $21.5 billion - will be satisfied by the issuance of Nvidia shares. Another $5 billion, out of the $40 billion, that SoftBank could receive under an earn-out construct, subject to satisfaction of specific financial performance targets by Arm, may be satisfied in cash or common stock. Nvidia will also issue $1.5 billion in equity to Arm employees.\nThis leaves a payment of $12 billion in cash, which includes $2 billion payable at signing. The company stated that it planned to finance the cash portion of the transaction with balance sheet cash. Based on the May 2021 quarterly report, Nvidia has enough to pay with some change. It has $12.7 billion in combined cash and equivalents as well as short-term investments.\nFurthermore, Nvidia still has months to build up that cash before the clearance by antitrust regulators around the world to conclude the deal. Most importantly, the press release stated that theArm dealwill be \"immediately accretive to NVIDIA’s non-GAAP gross margin and EPS.\"\nWill Nvidia's Dividend Grow? Is Nvidia A Good Dividend Stock For Long-term Investors?\nNvidia Corporation became a dividend-paying company more than eight years ago with a quarterly dividend of $0.075 declared on 8 November 2012. The dividend amount has since doubled to $0.16, beginning from 15 November 2018.\nSource: Seeking Alpha Premium\nWall Street analysts are not expecting Nvidia to change its dividend amount until 2023 when the consensus forecast is for the dividend to increase to $0.68 on an annual basis. That would bump the dividend yield slightly to 0.09 percent if the share price remains the same.\nSource: Seeking Alpha Premium\nAlthough we don't have dividend visibility beyond 2023, we can get some clues from the EPS estimates. Analysts are projecting Nvidia's EPS to more than triple in a decade, as compared to the year ending January 2021. In general, we should be expecting that the dividend grows along with the EPS. Otherwise, we can count on activist shareholders hounding the management to do so.\nSource: Seeking Alpha Premium\nThe icing on the cake would be a better-than-expected EPS, which corresponds to higher dividend expectation as well. Nvidia has delivered rather consistent, decent-sized, earnings surprises in the past few years, boding well for its future performance.\nSource: Seeking Alpha Premium\nIs NVDA Stock A Buy Now?\nWith Nvidia scoring an A in momentum based on Seeking Alpha's quant rating, the stock is arguably for momentum traders. For the others, the rapid rise in the share price has left the market wondering if there will be a pullback as the stock catches a breather.\nThe price target upside for Nvidia is a negative 8.4 percent. This means that the stock has run ahead of the analysts' consensus price target. While having a negative price target upside is not uncommon for Nvidia, it is still a strong indication that investors need to strongly consider whether the potential for appreciation remains attractive. This is especially as analysts have already made sharp upwards revisions to their price targets in the past weeks.\nData by YCharts\nThe company's involvement in data centers, autonomous driving, gaming, and artificial intelligence applications are exciting developments. However, investors would need to consider if these catalysts are already priced into the stock. Investors who had been \"burned\" by the sharp falls in the so-called growth stocks in the previous quarter would advise against chasing Nvidia's share price climb.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":227,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":150426888,"gmtCreate":1624925228444,"gmtModify":1703847944823,"author":{"id":"3575971055509237","authorId":"3575971055509237","name":"MrNewman","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/530fe22e84a93f106f3c10b865f30180","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3575971055509237","authorIdStr":"3575971055509237"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Hahaha","listText":"Hahaha","text":"Hahaha","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/150426888","repostId":"1181994034","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":199,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
