It's expected to begin trading Wednesday on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker \"PATH.\"

UiPath originally filed for its IPO on March 26 have opted for a direct listing instead.

The New York-based company originally said it was registering up to 24.5 million shares, at a range of $43 to $50 a share, to raise up to $1.22 billion. On Monday, it hiked the range to between $52 and $54 a share and increased the number of shares it planned to offer.

Morgan Stanley, J.P. Morgan, B of A Securities, Credit Suisse, Barclays, and Wells Fargo Securities are among the underwriters.

Here are five things to know about UiPath:

The 'humble' company notes rapid expansion

In the S-1, UiPath Chief Executive, Chairman and co-founder Daniel Dines wrote about his company having \"humility\" as a core value, in that it allows its developers to listen and adapt quickly to the needs of the customer. Founded in Bucharest, Romania, in 2005, the company was incorporated in Delaware six years ago after working its way up from \"10 people in an apartment in Romania,\" Dines wrote.

\"We went against the rules of perfecting the business model first in one territory, and instead we rapidly expanded globally to the United States, Europe, and Asia simultaneously,\" the CEO wrote in a letter.

At a current annualized renewal run rate, or ARR, of $580 million, UiPath bills itself as \"one of the fastest-growing modern enterprise software companies ever.\" ARR is a metric often used by software-as-a-service companies to show how much revenue the company can expect based on subscriptions.

While UiPath notes International Data Corp. sees the automation software market at $17 billion in 2020, with an expected rise to $30 billion by 2024, the company said its \"fully automated enterprise\" software gives it a current market opportunity of more than $60 billion.

CEO holds most of the cards

Since 2015, UiPath has raised about $2 billion in eight funding rounds, according to Crunchbase. That funding doesn't appear to have bought much voting power in the company, though.

UiPath's Class B shares carry 35 votes, while Class A shares -- being offered in the IPO -- carry one vote. The S-1 filing revealed that CEO Dines holds 100% of the Class B shares and 6.5% of the Class A shares, for 88.1% of the voting power.

The only entity that comes close to that is venture-capital firm Accel, which began building its stake in 2017, and now claims about 101 million Class A shares, or 24% of those shares, for 3.1% of the voting power. Earlybird Management, with 9.5% of Class A shares, commands 1.2% of the votes.

The company has reined in expenses

For the fiscal year 2021 ended Jan. 30, the company booked $607.6 million in revenue for a loss of $92.4 million, compared with $336.2 million in revenue for a loss of $519.9 million in fiscal 2020. In 2018, UiPath reported fiscal 2019 revenue of $148.5 million and a loss of $261.6 million.

As revenue rose 81% for fiscal 2021, UiPath reduced sales and marketing costs by 21%, research and development costs by 16%, and general and administrative expenses by 10%.

No specific plans for the funds

If underwriters exercise all option for shares in the offering, UiPath expects to bring in net proceeds of about $1.34 billion, based on a $56 stock price. With about $357.7 million in ready cash on the books as of Jan. 31, the company isn't earmarking raised capital for any specific use.

\"As of the date of this prospectus, we cannot specify with certainty all of the particular uses for the net proceeds to us from this offering,\" the company said in its April 19 filing. \"However, we currently intend to use the net proceeds we receive from this offering for general corporate purposes, including working capital, operating expenses, and capital expenditures.\"

COVID-19 boosted diverse customer base

As of Jan. 31, the company claimed having nearly 8,000 customers, with 63% of the those in the Fortune Global 500. About 1,000 of those customers account for more than $100,000 in ARR apiece, UiPath said. The company highlighted such customers as Adobe Inc. $(ADBE)$, Applied Materials Inc. $(AMAT)$, Chevron Corp. $(CVX)$, Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. $(CMG)$, CrowdStrike Holdings Inc. $(CRWD)$, CVS Health Corp. $(CVS)$ and Uber Technologies Inc. $(UBER)$.

That's compared with the 700-or-so customers the company claimed in 2018.

The company's current customer base is spread out enough where one customer can't upset revenue significantly. \"No customer or channel partner accounted for more than 10% of our revenue for the year-ended January 31, 2021,\" according to the S-1.

Meanwhile, the COVID-19 pandemic helped. On Jan. 31, 2020, the company said it had about 6,000 customers, so during the year of the pandemic alone, UiPath grew its number of customers by 33%.

\"As the pandemic persisted, global demand for automation continued to accelerate as automation became essential for business execution and performance in a remote working environment,\" UiPath said.

\"While the pandemic may have accelerated the adoption of automation, the need for organizations to address extraordinary cost pressures, preserve and grow revenue, and adapt to ever-evolving end-customer needs illustrates the durability of the demand for digital transformation and the resilience and power of automation in even the most challenging times,\" according to the company.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; SoFi’s Q4 results were strong, with impressive user growth and high volumes for student loans.

It caps an amazing few months for the online personal lender. SoFi stock rose rapidly after receiving approval for a national bank charter. It will now operate as a bank in the future, and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) will regulate it like a regular bank. It can offer the same interest rates and checking accounts as traditional banks.

There is another reason for the company to do well. It’s forecasting how many student loans it’ll generate next quarter. The company expects volumes to return to pre-Covid-19 levels by the mid-second quarter; the statewide eviction moratorium will end on May 1. The personal loans business is Sofi’s biggest segment. That’s why investors are excited to see the moratorium expire.

Currently, companies in the financial technology industry are valued much lower than they were a while ago. The sentiment is that this might be due to the general vitality that pushed up the stock prices of nearly every company last year. Growth stocks will remain under pressure because of the geopolitical tensions and the interest rate hikes slated for the year.

Therefore, SOFI stock becomes a risky prospect. It is especially true after the latest earnings report. Shares are now firmly overvalued in the current environment. Once the stock cools down, it will become more enticing for the value investor.

Not Putting a Foot Wrong

SOFI has been in the business of lending money for over 10 years now. It is constantly growing and expanding its services to reach more people. Its success can be attributed to the use of AI in their product development.

SoFi’s lending product relies on artificial intelligence and machine learning software to collect and analyze information about potential borrowers. Considering that it does not have a moat, its success is outstanding. The company does not charge any origination fees or hidden fees, making it very attractive to borrowers looking for loans without any hidden costs.

Concerns over Covid-19 infections were a big motivating factor for people taking part in the pandemic by staying at home. It led to a large number of users joining SoFi Technologies.

The growth in customers for SoFi Technologies was significant, and it had over 2.9 million members at the end of the third quarter. At that point, it was the second-biggest quarter for new members that SoFi had seen, with 377,000 new members representing a gain of 35% sequentially.

Analysts expected the growth to moderate in the fourth quarter, considering the pandemic was receding to the background. However, the latest numbers show that it hasn’t slowed down. It’s a safe guess that the company had a pretty good quarter, with 523,000 new members.

Overall, the fourth quarter was an excellent one by all accounts. The company’s growth could be mostly attributed to tough loan volume, which saw a 168% increase from last year’s quarter. The total volume of loans originated saw a 50.6% rise this year. Student lending had a few strong months before the expiration of student loan forbearance.

Breaking Down the Fourth-Quarter Numbers

SoFi recorded a net loss for Q4 of $111 million, or 15 cents a share, compared to their previous year’s net loss of $82.6 million, or $1.85 a share. The company made $285.6 million in revenue, up from $171.5 million last year. Despite the challenges, the company reached its membership numbers and financial growth targets.

“We hit new highs across our key financial and operating metrics in the fourth quarter, finishing 2021 with record annual results,” CEO Anthony Noto said.

SoFi expects its first-quarter results to benefit from an increase in net interest income from the newly approved bank charter. SoFi expects the loan impact to be greater now that it has begun originating loans in its new bank.

The forecast is for $280 million to $285 million adjusted net revenue for the ongoing quarter. Looking at the year as a whole, SoFi expects adjusted revenue of $1.57 billion and adjusted EBITDA of $180 million.

CFO Christopher Lapointe mentioned during SoFi’s earnings call that the company’s outlook weighs in with the prospect of five rate hikes this year. He also said that the company has a really wide range of offerings, so it can do well no matter what happens.

SoFi announced that it plans to acquire Technisys, a cloud-based banking platform, expecting to see its revenue go up 20% to 25% because of their contribution. The report states that SoFi will start seeing results from this acquisition when it goes through.

SOFI Stock Is Great, But Not at Current Rates

SoFi Technologies has seen sustained revenue growth and will continue to expand. Over the last few months, things have been going very well for the company.

As much as SoFi is an attractive long-term investment with a promising future, some short-term drawbacks lower the attractiveness of this company’s current value. It seems that the company doesn’t have an adequate moat that could sustain high growth rates.

As the competition in the finance sector is rising, customers will leave at a higher rate. A new fintech company can easily enter the space and grow in market share by offering smaller-margin financial services products or deploying more efficient AI solutions.

The founder of SoFi has been vocal about its desire to expand while maintaining quality. SoFi’s Q4 results were strong, with impressive user growth and high volumes for student loans. That’s why investors are excited to see the moratorium expire.Currently, companies in the financial technology industry are valued much lower than they were a while ago. Not Putting a Foot WrongSOFI has been in the business of lending money for over 10 years now. It is constantly growing and expanding its services to reach more people. Its success can be attributed to the use of AI in their product development.SoFi’s lending product relies on artificial intelligence and machine learning software to collect and analyze information about potential borrowers. Considering that it does not have a moat, its success is outstanding. The company does not charge any origination fees or hidden fees, making it very attractive to borrowers looking for loans without any hidden costs.Concerns over Covid-19 infections were a big motivating factor for people taking part in the pandemic by staying at home. It led to a large number of users joining SoFi Technologies. The growth in customers for SoFi Technologies was significant, and it had over 2.9 million members at the end of the third quarter. At that point, it was the second-biggest quarter for new members that SoFi had seen, with 377,000 new members representing a gain of 35% sequentially.Analysts expected the growth to moderate in the fourth quarter, considering the pandemic was receding to the background. However, the latest numbers show that it hasn’t slowed down. It’s a safe guess that the company had a pretty good quarter, with 523,000 new members.Overall, the fourth quarter was an excellent one by all accounts. The company’s growth could be mostly attributed to tough loan volume, which saw a 168% increase from last year’s quarter. The total volume of loans originated saw a 50.6% rise this year. Student lending had a few strong months before the expiration of student loan forbearance.Breaking Down the Fourth-Quarter NumbersSoFi recorded a net loss for Q4 of $111 million, or 15 cents a share, compared to their previous year’s net loss of $82.6 million, or $1.85 a share. The company made $285.6 million in revenue, up from $171.5 million last year. Despite the challenges, the company reached its membership numbers and financial growth targets.“We hit new highs across our key financial and operating metrics in the fourth quarter, finishing 2021 with record annual results,” CEO Anthony Noto said.SoFi expects its first-quarter results to benefit from an increase in net interest income from the newly approved bank charter. SoFi expects the loan impact to be greater now that it has begun originating loans in its new bank. The forecast is for $280 million to $285 million adjusted net revenue for the ongoing quarter. Looking at the year as a whole, SoFi expects adjusted revenue of $1.57 billion and adjusted EBITDA of $180 million.CFO Christopher Lapointe mentioned during SoFi’s earnings call that the company’s outlook weighs in with the prospect of five rate hikes this year. He also said that the company has a really wide range of offerings, so it can do well no matter what happens.SoFi announced that it plans to acquire Technisys, a cloud-based banking platform, expecting to see its revenue go up 20% to 25% because of their contribution. The report states that SoFi will start seeing results from this acquisition when it goes through.SOFI Stock Is Great, But Not at Current RatesSoFi Technologies has seen sustained revenue growth and will continue to expand. As it faces increasing competition from other fintech, its success will depend on how well it can satisfy customers’ needs without sacrificing either one greatly – a difficult balancing act that many companies have found challenging in recent years. All in all, the company is exiting and executing its strategy. However, after the stellar earnings report, SOFI stock is slightly overvalued, considering the current environment. Here were the main metrics from the report, compared to consensus estimates compiled by Bloomberg:

Non-farm payrolls: +379,000 vs. +200,000 expected and +49,000 in January

Unemployment rate: 6.2% vs. 6.3% expected and 6.3% in January

Average hourly earnings, month-over-month: 0.2% vs. 0.2% expected and 0.2% in January

Average hourly earnings, year-over-year: 5.3% vs. 5.3% expected and 5.4% in January

The February jobs report comes on the heels of back-to-back disappointments in each of the January and December reports. The economy added atepid 49,000 payrolls in January, according to the unrevised print, and had lost payrolls on net for the first time since Aprilin December.Overall, the U.S. economy remains about 9.9 million payrolls short of its pre-pandemic levels.

But last month, job growth was expected to have accelerated as declining new COVID-19 cases and broadening vaccine-conferred immunity helped more businesses reopen with greater capacity. The unemployment rate was expected to hold at 6.3%, or well below the pandemic-era high of 14.8%, but still above the 50-year-low of 3.5% from February 2020.

The breakdown of job gains and declines by industry was set to be of particular interest in the latest jobs report, given that job losses during the pandemic have been so heavily concentrated in high-contact services industries, and especially at restaurants, bars, hotels and their ilk.

In December and January,service-related jobs bore the brunt of payroll declines, as a resurgence in new COVID-19 cases around the holidays led to renewed social distancing restrictions. Leisure and hospitality payrolls dropped by 61,000 in January, following a plunge of more than half a million in December. After launching the first version of the Apple Watch in 2015, the company weighed a new model to better appeal to extreme sports athletes. The current version is still popular with runners, hikers, and swimmers, and Apple has added several sports and activity-tracking features via its annual update cycle. However,Casio Computer Co. and other watchmakers have seen strong sales from sturdier product designs with extra protection.
\n

\n
If Apple goes ahead this time, the rugged version would be an additional model similar to how Apple offers a lower-cost option called the Apple Watch SE and special editions co-branded with Nike Inc. and Hermes International. Sometimes dubbed the “Explorer Edition” inside Apple, the product would have the same functionality as a standard Apple Watch but with extra impact-resistanceand protection in the vein of Casio’s G-Shock watches.
\n
The latest Apple Watch models are already water-resistant to 50 meters -- at the high end for most smartwatches. But Apple could make a new device more “rugged” by giving it a rubberized exterior that would be useful for environments where the current aluminum, titanium and stainless steel cases might be prone to damage.
\n
Development of the new Apple Watch variation could ultimately be canceled or delayed, the people familiar the matter said. An Apple spokeswoman declined to comment.
\n
Apple is also working on new swim tracking features for the Apple Watch. The company typically launches new models in September. Last year, it rolled out the lower-cost Apple Watch SE and added a faster processor and blood oxygen sensor with the Apple Watch Series 6.
\n
The Apple Watch has become one of Apple’s most important products, though the company does not disclose how much revenue it brings in. After launching the first version of the Apple Watch in 2015, the company weighed a new model to better appeal to extreme sports athletes. The current version is still popular with runners, hikers, and swimmers, and Apple has added several sports and activity-tracking features via its annual update cycle. However,Casio Computer Co. and other watchmakers have seen strong sales from sturdier product designs with extra protection.\n\nIf Apple goes ahead this time, the rugged version would be an additional model similar to how Apple offers a lower-cost option called the Apple Watch SE and special editions co-branded with Nike Inc. and Hermes International. Sometimes dubbed the “Explorer Edition” inside Apple, the product would have the same functionality as a standard Apple Watch but with extra impact-resistanceand protection in the vein of Casio’s G-Shock watches.\nThe latest Apple Watch models are already water-resistant to 50 meters -- at the high end for most smartwatches. But Apple could make a new device more “rugged” by giving it a rubberized exterior that would be useful for environments where the current aluminum, titanium and stainless steel cases might be prone to damage.\nDevelopment of the new Apple Watch variation could ultimately be canceled or delayed, the people familiar the matter said. An Apple spokeswoman declined to comment.\nApple is also working on new swim tracking features for the Apple Watch. The company typically launches new models in September. Last year, it rolled out the lower-cost Apple Watch SE and added a faster processor and blood oxygen sensor with the Apple Watch Series 6.\nThe Apple Watch has become one of Apple’s most important products, though the company does not disclose how much revenue it brings in. The device is part of the company’s wearables, home and accessories segment, which generated sales of more than $30 billion in its last fiscal year. That made it Apple’s most successful product category besides the iPhone.
