Don’t be surprised if the stock market keeps on rising.
\n
With June coming to an end, the S&P 500 finished the first half of 2021 with a gain of 14.4%. Since 1998, only 2019’s 17.4% first-half surge has been larger.
\n
The market got a boost from Covid-19 vaccinations, which have helped the U.S. economy reopen, while trillions of dollars of fiscal stimulus have helped shore up demand. The gains continued even as concerns about inflation have increased speculation that the Federal Reserve would be forced to take steps to slow the economy.
\n
The combination of big gains and a more hawkish Fed have raised concerns that the market has become too complacent. If inflation continues to run hot for long enough, the central bank could be forced to act more quickly than the market expects—and cause stocks to tumble. Others worry that U.S. economic growth could slow faster than investors anticipate, causing a pullback in the process.
\n
For those who take that view, there is no better time to back away from the stock market than the present. History suggests otherwise.
\n
Since 1979, the S&P 500 has gained 10% or more 14 times during the first half of the year, and the index has gone on to average a 6.3% gain over the second half of the year. What’s more, the index finished the second half of the year higher In 11 of those instances, or 79% of the time.
\n
Even the losses, when they occurred, weren’t all that bad. The S&P 500 dropped 1.9% in the second half of 1983 and 3.5% during the last six months of 1986.
\n
The one exception was the last six months of 1987 when the index fell 19% during the second half of the year. That period included Black Monday, when the S&P 500 dropped 20% in one day, still a record loss. While selling linked to so-called portfolio insurance was ultimately blamed for the size and speed of the loss, the second half of 1987 was a period of rising bond yields and high stock-market valuations, just like the first half of 2021.
\n
Still, the market has been acting like it wants to go higher, not lower. Pullbacks, a normal event in the midst of bull runs, have been mild in 2021, with the largest drops being less than 4%. “What the [S&P 500] has done throughout 2021 is pick itself up when and where it has needed to, maintaining an uptrend all along,” writes Frank Cappelleri, chief market technician at Instinet.
\n
That 6.3% average second-half rise would push the S&P 500’s full-year gain to around 23%. That would represent a “textbook [market] recovery” from a recession, says Fundstrat’s Tom Lee.
\n
For now, at least, the path of least resistance is higher.
\n

","source":"lsy1601382232898","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
The S&P 500 Notches Its Second-Best First Half Since the Dot-Com Bubble. After a pair of recent acquisitions and a toothsome first-quarter earnings report, investors rewarded the company with a 20% share price increase in May.
\n
An investor conference began on June 16, allowing investors to get a better look at the company's recent background and get clues as to where it might be going. Here are three points you may want to consider while deciding if Tattooed Chef is the next Beyond Meat (NASDAQ:BYND) or if its weaknesses will limit its growth.
\n
1. Tattooed Chef's operations are thriving
\n
Despite the company having a traditional advertising budget of zero, Tattooed Chef's sales are booming, with overall revenue jumping 59% year over year from $33.2 million in Q1 2020 to $52.7 million in Q1 2021. An even more favorable sign for customer loyalty and brand recognition was the 105% year-over-year surge in products specifically branded with the Tattooed Chef name (the company also produces store-brand food products for various retailers). The company is projecting between $235 million and $242 million in total revenue for 2021 and a minimum of $300 million in the coming year.
\n
\n
The plant-based food maker is also achieving notable growth in the extent of its distribution network. According to company data, the number of stores carrying its products soared 41% between Dec. 31, 2020, and March 31, 2021, rising from 4,300 to 6,065. Points of distribution jumped to 31,000 from 23,000, an increase of nearly 35%.
\n
During the Q1 earnings conference call, CEO Salvatore Galletti said that by Q2's end on June 30, \"We expect to be an additional 1,162 stores with 8,000 new points of distribution, including a number of larger grocery chains.\" He added, \"We are confident we can achieve our 2021 objective of 10,000 stores and 65,000 points of distribution for Tattooed Chef by year end.\"
\n
Two early May acquisitions by Tattooed Chef, costing the company a total of $35 million, could be a catalyst for stronger growth and expanded production, too. Tattooed snapped up Karsten Tortilla Factory and New Mexico Food Distributors. According to Galletti, it \"will be immediately addressing the $1 billion Frozen Mexican Food category once the transactions close,\" and will use the new acquisitions as a stepping stone into the $20 billion market for \"Hispanic/Southwest\" food.
\n
With Abasto reporting around two-thirds of Americans (233 million) using at least some Mexican foods or recipes according to Statista research, and growth in this type of dining expected to continue, Tattooed Chef's move helps it establish a new position in a strong market sector. The purchase also adds 118,000 square feet of production facilities to its total, helping prevent a processing bottleneck during this period of rapid sales growth. Galletti remarks the two acquisitions are projected to \"contribute up to $200 million annually in revenue in the next two to three years and create significant value.\"
\n
The company is also expanding from a focus on frozen and refrigerated foods to shelf-stable foods (which it refers to with the buzzword phrase \"ambient foods\" in company literature). With sales of major shelf-stable food categories such as vegetables and soups having grown anywhere from 28% to 31.3% in 2020 according to market research firm IRI, this could be another potential sales driver.
\n
2. It's not all sunshine for the company
\n
Despite its skyrocketing sales and its relative freedom from the expense of a significant advertising budget, Tattooed Chef still registered a net loss in Q1 2021. The company's bottom line has worsened year over year: It produced positive $5.9 million net income in Q1 2020 versus a $7.9 million net loss in the same period this year. It has seen a rise in operating expenses, including a few million directed towards marketing and several million directed towards stock compensation.
\n
While Tattooed Chef makes plant-based cauliflower burgers, it simply doesn't have the serious research and development (R&D) muscle of Beyond Meat or privately held Impossible Foods to produce meat substitutes at the same level. While Beyond and Impossible maintain laboratories and fund teams of scientists to develop plant protein faux meat closely mimicking the flavor, texture, cooking characteristics, nutrition, and even bleeding of actual meat and are working on similarly advanced plant-based milk and eggs, Tattooed Chef's cauliflower burgers are just spiced and breaded cauliflower patties, a far more casual approach.
\n
Given that Beyond and Impossible owe their success to the accurate simulation of meat in a plant-based format, Tattooed Chef seems unlikely to tap strongly into that growth market. Its acai bowls, smoothie bowls, and other products, while proving salable, don't have the cutting-edge sales leverage of the advanced faux meats offered by its competitors and might be readily substituted with other companies' frozen meal bowls. Tattooed Chef, at this point, appears to lack the powerful, clear-cut product differentiation at the heart of the success of manufacturers like Beyond Meat.
\n
3. The high short interest in Tattooed Chef is a wild card
\n
One factor with potentially unpredictable consequences for Tattooed Chef is high short interest, standing at slightly over 36% at the start of June. Under ordinary market conditions, this would be a negative, indicating a large cohort of short-sellers have done their due diligence and found the company's fundamentals to be significantly lacking. A few years ago, this beefy short interest would have been a definitive warning sign about the company's future.
\n
In today's stock market climate, however, the high short interest could potentially attract the attention of large numbers of retail investors, such as those from the millions-strong r/WallStreetBets Reddit community. Noted for their tremendous short squeeze on the stock of video game seller GameStop and a growing handful of other \"meme stocks,\" these Redditors and other small investors remain on the lookout for heavily shorted stocks to buy in quantity.
\n
While Tattooed Chef seems to have drawn relatively little notice from these investors up until now, the quest for the next short squeeze takedown could eventually see the company become a meme stock, too. In this case, an attempted squeeze by WallStreetBets readers could pump immense streams of cash into Tattooed Chef, giving the company ample liquidity to aggressively pursue expansion, boost production capacity, and increase the range of product development.
\n
Should you add a taste of Tattooed Chef to your portfolio?
\n
While Tattooed Chef isn't making the groundbreaking plant-based meat or dairy products of Beyond Meat or Impossible Foods, it appears to have some real potential to become a profitable midsize vegetarian and vegan meal company. Its troubled bottom line and high short interest point to some risk, though, as noted, the latter could become an asset if the company becomes a meme stock and draws a major short squeeze cash inflow from Reddit retail investors at some point.
\n
Even without such a windfall, however, Tattooed Chef's entry into the Mexican-style food market, along with its rapid development of distribution channels, look like bullish indicators. While the company's future is uncertain and carries some risk, Fools investing in food stocks may want to consider adding at least a few of the company's shares to their holdings.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Is Tattooed Chef the Next Beyond Meat? 3 Points to Consider
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nIs Tattooed Chef the Next Beyond Meat? 3 Points to Consider\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-18 17:30 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Having gone public via a SPAC (special purpose acquisition company) merger at the start of the current SPAC craze back in mid-2020, Tattooed Chef (NASDAQ:TTCF) says in its own investor materials that ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"PCOM":"Points International","BYND":"Beyond Meat, Inc."},"source_url":"https://www.fool.com/investing/2021/06/17/tattooed-chef-next-beyond-meat-points-consider/","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"2144742013","content_text":"Having gone public via a SPAC (special purpose acquisition company) merger at the start of the current SPAC craze back in mid-2020, Tattooed Chef (NASDAQ:TTCF) says in its own investor materials that it's looking to be a disruptive upstart in the fast-growing plant-based foods sector. The company is projecting between $235 million and $242 million in total revenue for 2021 and a minimum of $300 million in the coming year.\nImage source: Getty Images.\nThe plant-based food maker is also achieving notable growth in the extent of its distribution network. According to company data, the number of stores carrying its products soared 41% between Dec. 31, 2020, and March 31, 2021, rising from 4,300 to 6,065. Points of distribution jumped to 31,000 from 23,000, an increase of nearly 35%.\nDuring the Q1 earnings conference call, CEO Salvatore Galletti said that by Q2's end on June 30, \"We expect to be an additional 1,162 stores with 8,000 new points of distribution, including a number of larger grocery chains.\" He added, \"We are confident we can achieve our 2021 objective of 10,000 stores and 65,000 points of distribution for Tattooed Chef by year end.\"\nTwo early May acquisitions by Tattooed Chef, costing the company a total of $35 million, could be a catalyst for stronger growth and expanded production, too. Tattooed snapped up Karsten Tortilla Factory and New Mexico Food Distributors. According to Galletti, it \"will be immediately addressing the $1 billion Frozen Mexican Food category once the transactions close,\" and will use the new acquisitions as a stepping stone into the $20 billion market for \"Hispanic/Southwest\" food.\nWith Abasto reporting around two-thirds of Americans (233 million) using at least some Mexican foods or recipes according to Statista research, and growth in this type of dining expected to continue, Tattooed Chef's move helps it establish a new position in a strong market sector. The purchase also adds 118,000 square feet of production facilities to its total, helping prevent a processing bottleneck during this period of rapid sales growth. Galletti remarks the two acquisitions are projected to \"contribute up to $200 million annually in revenue in the next two to three years and create significant value.\"\nThe company is also expanding from a focus on frozen and refrigerated foods to shelf-stable foods (which it refers to with the buzzword phrase \"ambient foods\" in company literature). With sales of major shelf-stable food categories such as vegetables and soups having grown anywhere from 28% to 31.3% in 2020 according to market research firm IRI, this could be another potential sales driver.\n2. It's not all sunshine for the company\nDespite its skyrocketing sales and its relative freedom from the expense of a significant advertising budget, Tattooed Chef still registered a net loss in Q1 2021. The company's bottom line has worsened year over year: It produced positive $5.9 million net income in Q1 2020 versus a $7.9 million net loss in the same period this year. It has seen a rise in operating expenses, including a few million directed towards marketing and several million directed towards stock compensation.\nWhile Tattooed Chef makes plant-based cauliflower burgers, it simply doesn't have the serious research and development (R&D) muscle of Beyond Meat or privately held Impossible Foods to produce meat substitutes at the same level. While Beyond and Impossible maintain laboratories and fund teams of scientists to develop plant protein faux meat closely mimicking the flavor, texture, cooking characteristics, nutrition, and even bleeding of actual meat and are working on similarly advanced plant-based milk and eggs, Tattooed Chef's cauliflower burgers are just spiced and breaded cauliflower patties, a far more casual approach.\nGiven that Beyond and Impossible owe their success to the accurate simulation of meat in a plant-based format, Tattooed Chef seems unlikely to tap strongly into that growth market. Its acai bowls, smoothie bowls, and other products, while proving salable, don't have the cutting-edge sales leverage of the advanced faux meats offered by its competitors and might be readily substituted with other companies' frozen meal bowls. Tattooed Chef, at this point, appears to lack the powerful, clear-cut product differentiation at the heart of the success of manufacturers like Beyond Meat.\n3. The high short interest in Tattooed Chef is a wild card\nOne factor with potentially unpredictable consequences for Tattooed Chef is high short interest, standing at slightly over 36% at the start of June. Under ordinary market conditions, this would be a negative, indicating a large cohort of short-sellers have done their due diligence and found the company's fundamentals to be significantly lacking. A few years ago, this beefy short interest would have been a definitive warning sign about the company's future.\nIn today's stock market climate, however, the high short interest could potentially attract the attention of large numbers of retail investors, such as those from the millions-strong r/WallStreetBets Reddit community. Noted for their tremendous short squeeze on the stock of video game seller GameStop and a growing handful of other \"meme stocks,\" these Redditors and other small investors remain on the lookout for heavily shorted stocks to buy in quantity.\nWhile Tattooed Chef seems to have drawn relatively little notice from these investors up until now, the quest for the next short squeeze takedown could eventually see the company become a meme stock, too. In this case, an attempted squeeze by WallStreetBets readers could pump immense streams of cash into Tattooed Chef, giving the company ample liquidity to aggressively pursue expansion, boost production capacity, and increase the range of product development.\nShould you add a taste of Tattooed Chef to your portfolio?\nWhile Tattooed Chef isn't making the groundbreaking plant-based meat or dairy products of Beyond Meat or Impossible Foods, it appears to have some real potential to become a profitable midsize vegetarian and vegan meal company. Its troubled bottom line and high short interest point to some risk, though, as noted, the latter could become an asset if the company becomes a meme stock and draws a major short squeeze cash inflow from Reddit retail investors at some point.\nEven without such a windfall, however, Tattooed Chef's entry into the Mexican-style food market, along with its rapid development of distribution channels, look like bullish indicators. While the company's future is uncertain and carries some risk, Fools investing in food stocks may want to consider adding at least a few of the company's shares to their holdings.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":497,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":166228897,"gmtCreate":1624013328919,"gmtModify":1703826541157,"author":{"id":"3576125105535390","authorId":"3576125105535390","name":"Riyasaan","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/853ccf8f0efed6f3b600123ec0b321c3","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3576125105535390","idStr":"3576125105535390"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Good","listText":"Good","text":"Good","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/166228897","repostId":"2144491778","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2144491778","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1624010166,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2144491778?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-18 17:56","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Adevinta, eBay clear final hurdle in $13 bln advertising tie-up","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2144491778","media":"Reuters","summary":"* Austrian competition authority OKs deal\n* Firms will form world's No. 1 classified ads group\n* Tra","content":"
* Austrian competition authority OKs deal
\n
* Firms will form world's No. 1 classified ads group
\n
* Transaction worth $13 bln at current share price
\n
* EBay must cut Adevinta stake to no more than 33% (Adds detail, background, shares)
\n
OSLO, June 18 (Reuters) - U.S. e-commerce group eBay and Norway's Adevinta have secured final regulatory approval for a tie-up of their global classified ads businesses, the Norwegian firm said on Friday.
\n
Under a deal struck last year, Adevinta will acquire eBay's Classifieds Group in return for $2.5 billion in cash and 540 million shares, valuing the transaction at around $13 billion at current stock market prices.
\n
The final regulatory approval came from the Austrian competition watchdog after eBay agreed to reduce its ownership stake in Adevinta during the next 18 months, the Norwegian firm said.
\n
The compromise removes the sole outstanding obstacle to the deal following a go-ahead from Britain's Competition and Markets Authority earlier this month.
\n
\"Adevinta is pleased to announce that closing of the transaction will be initiated shortly and is expected to complete on or about 25 June,\" the Oslo-listed company said in a statement.
\n
The transaction makes eBay Adevinta's largest shareholder with an overall 44% stake and 33.3% of the vote, and gives the U.S. firm two seats on the company's board. POINTS\n\nWidely regarded as the \"crown jewel\" of the U.K. tech industry, Arm has co-founded the accelerator, known as Deeptech Labs, with the University of Cambridge, private equity investor Cambridge Innovation Capital and venture firm Martlet Capital.\nSo-called deep tech companies aim to create new intellectual property by breaking technological ground in an effort to solve complex problems.\nWhile London is home to most of the U.K.'s tech companies, Cambridge has spawned some of the nation's most innovative firms that have caught the eye of U.S. tech giants.\n\nLONDON — U.K. chip designer Arm has co-founded a new start-up accelerator in Cambridge, England, to try and help young \"deep tech\" firms to grow into the next generation of tech giants.\nWidely regarded as the \"crown jewel\" of the U.K. tech industry, Arm has co-founded the accelerator, known as Deeptech Labs, with the University of Cambridge, private equity investor Cambridge Innovation Capital and venture firm Martlet Capital.\nSo-called deep tech companies aim to create new intellectual property by breaking technological ground in an effort to solve complex problems.\nAdam Bastin, VP of corporate development at Arm, said in a statement that Cambridge has \"remained a critical hub of talent, creativity and innovation\" from Arm's earliest days in a barn just outside the city back in the early 1980s.\n\"In co-founding Deeptech Labs, we're pleased to support the next generation of game-changing technology companies by helping them to access the world-class Cambridge technology ecosystem,\" he said.\nIn exchange for a chunk of equity, typically between 5% and 20%, Deeptech Labs offers start-ups £350,000 ($495,000), access to a three-month development program and networking opportunities.\nDeeptech Labs CEO Miles Kirby told CNBC on Friday: \"I've seen a lot of deep tech founders who are maybe academics or engineers, and they've got a great technology, but they really struggle to kind of go from a technology to a business.\"\nHe added: \"You see a lot of companies that fail in that seed-to-series-A stage, because they don't find the right market fit, or they don't find the right business model. We're really helping to address that.\"\nKirby, who previously worked at Qualcomm for 18 years and ran an accelerator while he was there, said Deeptech Labs looked at around 900 companies for its initial cohort, before picking five: AutoFill, BKwai, Circuit Mind, Contilio, and Mindtech.\nCircuit Mind, for example, is aiming to build a platform that enables engineers to design circuit boards in just a few hours with the help of AI software, while Contilio is working on a 3D analytics platform to help the construction industry understand, predict and deliver complex construction projects cheaper, faster, and more sustainably.\nWhile London is home to most of the U.K.'s tech companies, Cambridge has spawned some of the nation's most innovative firms that have caught the eye of U.S. tech giants –Applebought speech tech firm VocalIQ in 2015 to improve Siri, whileAmazonbought Evi to boost Alexa in 2013. The city is also home to fast-growing start-ups like Darktrace, as well as sizableAmazonandMicrosoftresearch labs.\nThere are dozens of tech accelerators around the world. Y Combinator, which is whereAirbnb, Stripe and Reddit were born, is perhaps the most famous, butGoogle,Facebook,Microsoftand many other large tech companies have similar ventures. While they clearly have some benefits to founders, some have questioned whether entrepreneurs should sacrifice the equity or go it alone.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":128,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":188151945,"gmtCreate":1623425247987,"gmtModify":1704203463555,"author":{"id":"3576125105535390","authorId":"3576125105535390","name":"Riyasaan","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/853ccf8f0efed6f3b600123ec0b321c3","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3576125105535390","idStr":"3576125105535390"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Salesforce.com(CRM)$Waiting for breakout","listText":"$Salesforce.com(CRM)$Waiting for breakout","text":"$Salesforce.com(CRM)$Waiting for breakout","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/94066293db6825fc160830fff5ee82b1","width":"1125","height":"1949"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/188151945","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":335,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":181027921,"gmtCreate":1623368333663,"gmtModify":1704201681465,"author":{"id":"3576125105535390","authorId":"3576125105535390","name":"Riyasaan","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/853ccf8f0efed6f3b600123ec0b321c3","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3576125105535390","idStr":"3576125105535390"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Salesforce.com(CRM)$Come on. Jushi Holdings
\n
Trading for less than $6 per share at the time of this writing, Jushi Holdings (OTC:JUSHF) is a small-cap company with serious long-term growth potential. The multistate cannabis operator owns a family of marijuana brands including Tasteology, Nira, and The Lab Concentrates. It also runs a chain of retail cannabis stores spread across Pennsylvania, Illinois, California, and Virginia.
\n
2020 was an extremely profitable, high-growth year for Jushi Holdings. It recorded a nearly 700% spike in revenue, and its gross profits surged by a mouthwatering 760%.
\n
Jushi Holdings reported a 30% increase in revenue during the first quarter of 2021. But the company's lightning-fast growth isn't hindering its ability to expand its cash position, as it closed the period with a robust $168 million in cash, cash equivalents, and short-term investments.
\n
The company is also quickly expanding its national presence. In the month of April alone, Jushi Holdings closed its acquisition of a group of marijuana cultivation, manufacturing, and distribution facilities in Nevada and announced more pending deals that are scheduled to close later this year. In Ohio, its purchase of OhiGrow will make Jushi Holdings the owner of one of just 34 licensed cultivators in the state -- a key medical marijuana market. And in Massachusetts, where cannabis is legal for both medical and recreational purposes, Jushi plans to acquire Nature's Remedy, owner of a cultivation and manufacturing facility as well as two retail dispensaries.
\n
As Jushi Holdings continues to grow its footprint in the coming years, its balance sheet and share price could also be considerably augmented. This is a great time to seize upon this premium pot stock's cheap share price to capitalize on its long-term potential.
\n
2. Pfizer
\n
Pfizer (NYSE:PFE) skyrocketed to rock-star status during the pandemic when BNT162b2 -- which it developed with its German partner, BioNTech -- became the first COVID-19 vaccine to earn emergency use authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Despite the massive success of BNT162b2, now being marketed as Comirnaty, not to mention a bulletproof portfolio of other lucrative products that have seen strong sales growth, Pfizer's shares still trade at less than $40.
\n
Pfizer's coronavirus vaccine is already having a decisive impact on its balance sheet. The company expects to bring in about $26 billion in revenue from Comirnaty in 2021 alone, and it just announced on May 7 that it was filing with the FDA for full approval of the vaccine for use by people 16 and older.
\n
During the first quarter of 2021, Pfizer reported astonishing revenue growth of 42% year over year. But it has plenty of other products beyond its coronavirus vaccine to rely on for future gains. Even when you factor BNT162b2 out of the picture, the company still reported excellent revenue growth of 8% from the prior-year period.
\n
In addition to coronavirus vaccine sales, Pfizer's robust top-line expansion during the first quarter was driven by consistent single- to double-digit percentage revenue increases across its core business segments. For example, sales in Pfizer's oncology, internal medicine, and rare disease segments shot up 16%, 10%, and 25%, respectively. Among its top-selling drugs, anticoagulant Eliquis, heart failure medications Vyndaqel and Vyndamax, and rheumatoid arthritis medication Xeljanz recorded sales gains of 25%, 88%, and 18%, respectively. While a cheap per-share price in and of itself doesn't necessarily indicate that a stock is a good investment, it also doesn't mean it's a bad one.\nHere are two low-priced stocks that long-term investors should consider scooping up right now.\n\nImage source: Getty Images.\n1. Jushi Holdings\nTrading for less than $6 per share at the time of this writing, Jushi Holdings (OTC:JUSHF) is a small-cap company with serious long-term growth potential. The multistate cannabis operator owns a family of marijuana brands including Tasteology, Nira, and The Lab Concentrates. It also runs a chain of retail cannabis stores spread across Pennsylvania, Illinois, California, and Virginia.\n2020 was an extremely profitable, high-growth year for Jushi Holdings. It recorded a nearly 700% spike in revenue, and its gross profits surged by a mouthwatering 760%.\nJushi Holdings reported a 30% increase in revenue during the first quarter of 2021. But the company's lightning-fast growth isn't hindering its ability to expand its cash position, as it closed the period with a robust $168 million in cash, cash equivalents, and short-term investments.\nThe company is also quickly expanding its national presence. And in Massachusetts, where cannabis is legal for both medical and recreational purposes, Jushi plans to acquire Nature's Remedy, owner of a cultivation and manufacturing facility as well as two retail dispensaries.\nAs Jushi Holdings continues to grow its footprint in the coming years, its balance sheet and share price could also be considerably augmented. This is a great time to seize upon this premium pot stock's cheap share price to capitalize on its long-term potential.\n2. Pfizer\nPfizer (NYSE:PFE) skyrocketed to rock-star status during the pandemic when BNT162b2 -- which it developed with its German partner, BioNTech -- became the first COVID-19 vaccine to earn emergency use authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Despite the massive success of BNT162b2, now being marketed as Comirnaty, not to mention a bulletproof portfolio of other lucrative products that have seen strong sales growth, Pfizer's shares still trade at less than $40.\nPfizer's coronavirus vaccine is already having a decisive impact on its balance sheet. The company expects to bring in about $26 billion in revenue from Comirnaty in 2021 alone, and it just announced on May 7 that it was filing with the FDA for full approval of the vaccine for use by people 16 and older.\nDuring the first quarter of 2021, Pfizer reported astonishing revenue growth of 42% year over year. But it has plenty of other products beyond its coronavirus vaccine to rely on for future gains. Even when you factor BNT162b2 out of the picture, the company still reported excellent revenue growth of 8% from the prior-year period.\nIn addition to coronavirus vaccine sales, Pfizer's robust top-line expansion during the first quarter was driven by consistent single- to double-digit percentage revenue increases across its core business segments. Management is now forecasting full-year revenues in the range of $70.5 billion to $72.5 billion.\nPfizer's also an attractive option for dividend-seeking investors. The stock yields a healthy 4% at the time of this writing. Moreover, it trades at a mere 20 times trailing earnings. The combination of Pfizer's affordable price tag and the appealing mixture of growth and value it offers investors makes this stock a no-brainer buy in any market environment.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":97,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[{"author":{"id":"3570864790458781","authorId":"3570864790458781","name":"Yeong","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/93092185d223c6e53fcfd64303836612","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"idStr":"3570864790458781","authorIdStr":"3570864790458781"},"content":"Pls Photographer: Lauryn Ishak/BloombergSingapore government bonds beat their biggest developed-market peers in May as a flare-up in virus infections in the city state fostered demand for haven assets. The securities gained 1.1% last month, a performance which trails only that of South African, Mexican and Indonesian bonds among 30 of the world’s largest debt markets, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. Fifteen- and 20-year bonds outperformed other tenors.Singapore was forced to reimpose a month of lockdown-like conditions from May 16 to quell a rising number of infections, its first return to tighter restrictions since last year. The city-state’s bonds also caught a bid from subdued inflation and a lack of supply pressures.“The implicit increase in household savings from restrained activity has been beneficial for longer-tenor bonds and supporting their relative outperformance,” said Philip McNicholas, ASEAN foreign-exchange and rates strategist at Bloomberg Intelligence. “A general normalization in U.S. post-reopening economic activity could give a further tailwind to Singapore dollar bonds as Fed tightening gets pushed back.”Infections in the city state have since stabilized. Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said Monday restrictions may be eased in two weeks.“Overwhelming U.S. dollar liquidity is prompting investors to look for better returns outside of the U.S.,” said Eugene Leow, a rates strategist at DBS Bank Ltd. in Singapore. “Singapore is doing well on the vaccination front even as the economy is still under more stringent Covid-19 restrictions.”The lack of price pressures is another boon for bonds.
