Musk and the popular social media platform agreed to a deal on April 25 valued at $44 billion.

Following the news, Tesla stock fell more than 10%, indicating a potential sign that shareholders are worried about what Musk's association with Twitter will mean for the electric vehicle (EV) company moving forward. Consequently, the company's share price is down almost 20% in the past month, and the stock now carries a market capitalization of $891 billion.

Already responsible for overseeing Tesla and SpaceX, Musk now intends to lead one of the world's largest social media companies. Should investors be concerned that he has too much on his plate? Although only time will tell, I don't think we need to worry about the future of Tesla. The latest news triggered an antagonistic view of the stock; however, over the long run, the EV maker won't be affected.

Tesla delivers time and time again

Even when investors may have expected a subpar outing in the first quarter of 2022 due to COVID-19-related shutdowns at its Shanghai factory, Tesla managed to deliver striking results. The company reported a top and bottom line of $18.8 billion and $3.22/share to start off the year, beating consensus estimates by 5% and 42%, respectively. Vehicle production and deliveries experienced 69% and 68% growth year over year, up to 305,407 and 310,048, respectively.

Over a multi-year time horizon, the company plans to achieve 50% average annual growth in vehicle deliveries. Due largely to supply chain restraints, Tesla's factories have been operating below capacity, which management noted will also be the case for the remainder of 2022. But given the obstacles it has been consistently able to overcome, investors have no reason to fret over the company's future operational performance.

In the midst of such spectacular growth, other areas of the business are improving too. The company's total debt excluding vehicle and energy product financing is below $100 million, and the EV maker continues to make headway in its cash flow generation, producing $2.2 billion in free cash flow to close out the first quarter. While Tesla may be a polarizing stock in the eyes of many investors, it's quite clear that the world's most valuable automaker is upgrading its financial position.

Tesla's valuation is well ahead of the pack

With Tesla trading at 119.1 times earnings today, the bears' main critique of the company has always been its sky-high valuation. Just to put it into perspective, other automakers like Ford, General Motors, and Toyota carry price-to-earnings multiples of 5.1, 6.6, and 8.4, respectively. This isn't necessarily a fair one-to-one comparison given that Tesla is a pure-play on electric vehicles, which is a much faster-growing market than the traditional automobile industry. And although these companies have dipped their toes into the EV market, Tesla remains the clear front-runner in the space.

Compared to the top EV competitor Lucid Group (LCID), Tesla doesn't appear as expensive. Lucid Group has a price-to-sales multiple of more than 800 versus Tesla's 15.4. Again, this is not a great direct comparison provided that Lucid Group is currently expanding its top line at a much faster clip than the Musk-led firm. Nonetheless, Tesla is certainly not a cheap investment today, regardless of how you chalk it up.

Is Tesla a buy today?

Don't let Elon Musk's recent moves toward a Twitter acquisition shape your beliefs on Tesla stock -- focus on the company's underlying fundamentals. The electric vehicle market is forecasted to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 18% through 2030, up to $825 billion. Tesla remains the industry's pacesetter and seems poised to enjoy steady growth in the future.

That said, the stock is trading at a lofty valuation, even after its latest pullback. Investors will need to weigh their options before buying this EV juggernaut, but it wouldn't be unwise to concentrate on more attractively priced stocks currently available on the market today.

","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Is Tesla Doomed If Elon Musk Buys Twitter?
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nIs Tesla Doomed If Elon Musk Buys Twitter?\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-05-09 23:36 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Should investors be worried that the Tesla CEO is juggling too many responsibilities?Tesla shares have struggled to stay afloat recently owing to broader negative sentiment swaying the stock market ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"TSLA":"特斯拉","TWTR":"Twitter"},"source_url":"https://www.fool.com/investing/2022/05/09/is-tesla-doomed-if-elon-musk-buys-twitter/","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1121258833","content_text":"Should investors be worried that the Tesla CEO is juggling too many responsibilities?Tesla shares have struggled to stay afloat recently owing to broader negative sentiment swaying the stock market and added pressure from CEO Elon Musk's recent proposal to acquire Twitter. industry players expect will accelerate on strong commodity prices and the retreat of Europeans from U.S. onshore production.

The players, including Devon Energy Corp , EQT Corp, Continental Resources , Pioneer Natural Resources and Diamondback Energy , are poised for another round of dealmaking, according to interviews with a dozen sources.

"The conditions are there for public companies, in particular large independents and mid-caps, to use dealmaking to reshape themselves and ensure they have adequate inventory to capitalize on this commodity price supercycle," said Pete Bowden, global head of energy and power at Jefferies.

Among potential targets are Colgate Energy Partners, controlled by Pearl Energy Investments and NGP, and Ameredev II, backed by EnCap Investments. Both were formed after their private equity owners put separate companies together to make them more attractive to the emerging mini-majors.

The trend echoes the late-1990s, when rapid combinations spawned global supermajors BP , Exxon Mobil Corp and Chevron Corp . Like then, this round of consolidation uses size to improve economies of scale. But this time, the mini-majors are bulking up largely in individual U.S. shale formations.

Pioneer Natural increased its holdings in the Permian basin with two deals last year and now produces more oil and gas there than Exxon. EQT has become the largest natural gas producer in the United States from its stronghold in the Marcellus shale of Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Devon, the best-performing stock in the S&P 500 index in 2021, also has been hunting for deals, say investment bankers, after losing out last year when Shell sold assets in the heart of the U.S. shale industry.

Devon has made at least two overtures to buy Exxon's production in North Dakota's Bakken shale, including one earlier this year which valued the assets at more than $6 billion, two sources said on condition of anonymity to discuss private information. Devon has spread its bets across Texas, Oklahoma, Wyoming and North Dakota.

Devon and Exxon both declined comment. None of Continental, Diamondback, EQT, and Pioneer responded to requests for comment.

BIGGER IS BETTER

U.S. shale companies are acting to secure the scale to remain relevant to institutional investors that only put money in the biggest companies, along with top quality oilfields to take advantage of surging crude prices, said Jefferies' Bowden.

"If you look at the big deals done in the last couple of years, every buyer has been proven right, in securing A-1 locations at valuations which now appear cheap, with the benefit of hindsight," he said.

Volatile prices make it tougher to strike deals as buyers and sellers disagree on valuation. Still, tie-ups continue.

Last week, Whiting Petroleum Corp and Oasis Petroleum Inc announced a Bakken-focused combination. It spent about $23 billion in the last 18 months buying Shell and Concho Resources properties in Texas.

PRIVATE EQUITY'S ROLE

As European majors have exited, private equity firms are offering fuel for further deals. Oil prices at 14-year highs are kicking up asset values and providing opportunities to exit long-held investments.

"With prices going up, and most of private equity focused on harvesting existing investments in this space, they are more likely to be sellers too, and so the independents will have those opportunities to look at as well," said Lande Spottswood, partner at law firm Vinson & Elkins.

","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
U.S. Oil 'Mini-Majors' Emerge from Shale Patch Deals, Soaring Energy Prices
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nU.S. Oil 'Mini-Majors' Emerge from Shale Patch Deals, Soaring Energy Prices\n
\n\n
\n\n\n\n\n\n

\n\n
\n
Reuters
\n
2022-03-15 20:35
\n
\n\n\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n

HOUSTON, March 15 (Reuters) - A group of oil and gas "mini-majors" are emerging among U.S. shale producers, built from aggressive dealmaking that industry players expect will accelerate on strong commodity prices and the retreat of Europeans from U.S. onshore production.

It's collapsed more than 70% from its highs to under $100 per share in just a few months, showing how the market can both giveth, and taketh away.

However, the market's cold reception toward Sea Limited may not be without merit. There was a significant area of concern with the company's fourth-quarter 2021 earnings results. I'll break down what could have the market spooked about Sea Limited and why the recent dip could be an excellent opportunity for long-term investors.

Sea Limited offers digital products and services in gaming, e-commerce, and fintech. According to App Annie, its gaming segment Garena created Free Fire, the world's most downloaded mobile game from 2019 to 2021. Shopee is Sea Limited's e-commerce marketplace, and Sea Money, its digital payments platform, integrates across the business.

A dark spot in an otherwise bright quarter

Gaming, e-commerce, and fintech are all fast-growing industries, which has enabled Sea Limited to thrive. The company grew its revenue 106% year over year in Q4 2021 and 128% for the entire year. Sea Limited has averaged 119% annual revenue growth over the past three years, so it's continued its rapid growth.

However, management guided Garena for $2.9 billion to $3.1 billion in bookings for 2022. Bookings are essentially funds that have been purchased but not spent on the game platform, so they indicate the momentum of the gaming business. Garena's total 2021 bookings were $4.6 billion, so this is a massive decline that suggests the gaming business could be about to slow down dramatically.

Garena is Sea's "money maker." It contributes all of its profits. Its total 2021 non-GAAP EBITDA from Garena was $2.77 billion, while the rest of the company posted losses, bringing companywide 2021 EBITDA to minus $593 million. Garena's profits enable the company to invest in growth, like expanding into new markets. It's reasonable that a weakness in the gaming business could threaten Sea's path to bottom-line profitability (positive net income), as well as its ability to fund growth.

The stock has become attractive

It's not that investors should dismiss these risks; they need to be monitored by shareholders over the coming quarters. However, some context could be important.

Management attributes the anticipated slowdown to be caused by reopening, where gamers don't have as much time to spend playing Freefire now that work, school, and social gatherings are slowly going back to normal. Freefire is also currently banned in India due to Tencent's stake in Sea Limited. It makes sense that these things might impact Garena, and active users still grew 7% year-over-year in Q4. It's something to watch for sure, but I'm not sure it's an automatic reason to avoid the stock.

Meanwhile, Sea's stock is about as cheap from a price-to-sales ratio standpoint as at any point in its history as a public company. It's collapsed more than 70% from its highs to under $100 per share in just a few months, showing how the market can both giveth, and taketh away. However, the market's cold reception toward Sea Limited may not be without merit. There was a significant area of concern with the company's fourth-quarter 2021 earnings results. I'll break down what could have the market spooked about Sea Limited and why the recent dip could be an excellent opportunity for long-term investors.Sea Limited offers digital products and services in gaming, e-commerce, and fintech. According to App Annie, its gaming segment Garena created Free Fire, the world's most downloaded mobile game from 2019 to 2021. Shopee is Sea Limited's e-commerce marketplace, and Sea Money, its digital payments platform, integrates across the business.Image Source: Getty Images.A dark spot in an otherwise bright quarterGaming, e-commerce, and fintech are all fast-growing industries, which has enabled Sea Limited to thrive. Garena's total 2021 bookings were $4.6 billion, so this is a massive decline that suggests the gaming business could be about to slow down dramatically.Garena is Sea's \"money maker.\" It contributes all of its profits. The stock has become attractiveIt's not that investors should dismiss these risks; they need to be monitored by shareholders over the coming quarters. However, some context could be important.Management attributes the anticipated slowdown to be caused by reopening, where gamers don't have as much time to spend playing Freefire now that work, school, and social gatherings are slowly going back to normal. Freefire is also currently banned in India due to Tencent's stake in Sea Limited. It makes sense that these things might impact Garena, and active users still grew 7% year-over-year in Q4. It's something to watch for sure, but I'm not sure it's an automatic reason to avoid the stock.Meanwhile, Sea's stock is about as cheap from a price-to-sales ratio standpoint as at any point in its history as a public company. You can see below how the P/S ratio threatens to go below pre-COVID levels.SE PS Ratio data by YChartsIs the company dealing with some bumps in the road? Of course, however, I would argue that the valuation compensates investors for it, versus when the stock traded at a P/S ratio of more than 24 just a few months ago.Flexibility and growth to drive long-term returnsIf you look beyond Garena's potential slowdown, the company is still performing at a high level. Over the past three months, all three major U.S. indexes have undergone their steepest corrections in two years. In fact, the technology-dependent Nasdaq Composite briefly entered bear market territory.

While the velocity of moves lower in the broad-market indexes can, at times, be scary, the key thing to remember is that pullbacks are always an opportunity for patient investors to go on the offensive. That's because every single crash or correction throughout history has eventually been placed into the rearview mirror by a bull market rally.

Just as important, you don't need a mountain of cash to take advantage of these dips in the stock market. Since most online brokerages ditched commission fees and minimum deposit requirements, any amount of money -- even $300 -- can be the perfect amount to invest.

If you have $300 at the ready, which won't be needed for bills or to cover emergencies, here are some of the smartest stocks you can buy on the dip.

Teladoc Health

The first beaten-down stock to buy with $300 is the kingpin of telemedicine, Teladoc Health.

Skeptics have had two big issues with Teladoc over the past year. To begin with, they believe the company has enjoyed a pandemic-related benefit and its growth will slow dramatically when we exit the pandemic. Second, skeptics are concerned about Teladoc's back-to-back years of larger-than-expected losses following the pricey acquisition of Livongo Health. While I understand where this opposing view is coming from, neither of these headwinds has legs to stand on.

Although Teladoc did benefit nicely during the initial stages of the pandemic, investors need to recognize that this shift to virtual visit healthcare platforms began well before 2020. In the six years leading up to the pandemic, Teladoc's sales grew by an average annual rate of 74%! That's not a fluke. It's a sign that the way personalized care is administered in the U.S. is changing.

Telehealth is a win for all parties up and down the healthcare treatment chain. It's often more convenient for patients to connect with physicians from their homes, while virtual visits allow physicians to keep better tabs on chronically ill patients. The end result should be improved patient outcomes and less money out of the pockets of health insurers.

As for Teladoc's larger losses, these should be a thing of the past. With Livongo's integration costs and stock-based compensation expected to decline significantly in 2022, the company has a pretty clear path to profitability by 2024, if not sooner.

Furthermore, don't overlook the importance of Teladoc and Livongo being able to cross-sell on each other's platforms. Though the Livongo deal was pricey in hindsight, it's going to fuel sustainable sales growth of 20% to 30% throughout the decade. This makes the nearly 80% retracement in Teladoc's shares since February 2021 an ideal buying opportunity.

Qorvo

Another smart stock that's begging to be bought with $300 is semiconductor solutions company Qorvo. Shares have retraced by roughly 35% over the past nine months, which doesn't make much sense given how well Qorvo has been executing.

There are three core catalysts that should have investors excited about the discount they can nab on Qorvo right now.

To start with, it should be a prime beneficiary of the 5G wireless revolution. It's been about a decade since wireless download speeds were meaningfully improved. Upgrading 5G wireless infrastructure should encourage a steady device replacement cycle that lasts for years. Qorvo is responsible for providing a variety of connectivity solutions used in next-generation smartphones. Thus, the more smartphones that are manufactured and sold, the more opportunity the company has to get its solutions into 5G-capable devices.

The second catalyst, which effectively builds on the first, is Qorvo's tight-knit relationship with Apple. Last year, Apple was responsible for approximately 30% of Qorvo's annual sales. That's because every single crash or correction throughout history has eventually been placed into the rearview mirror by a bull market rally.Image source: Getty Images.Just as important, you don't need a mountain of cash to take advantage of these dips in the stock market. Since most online brokerages ditched commission fees and minimum deposit requirements, any amount of money -- even $300 -- can be the perfect amount to invest. If you have $300 at the ready, which won't be needed for bills or to cover emergencies, here are some of the smartest stocks you can buy on the dip.Teladoc HealthThe first beaten-down stock to buy with $300 is the kingpin of telemedicine, Teladoc Health.Skeptics have had two big issues with Teladoc over the past year. To begin with, they believe the company has enjoyed a pandemic-related benefit and its growth will slow dramatically when we exit the pandemic. Second, skeptics are concerned about Teladoc's back-to-back years of larger-than-expected losses following the pricey acquisition of Livongo Health. While I understand where this opposing view is coming from, neither of these headwinds has legs to stand on.Although Teladoc did benefit nicely during the initial stages of the pandemic, investors need to recognize that this shift to virtual visit healthcare platforms began well before 2020. In the six years leading up to the pandemic, Teladoc's sales grew by an average annual rate of 74%! That's not a fluke. It's a sign that the way personalized care is administered in the U.S. is changing.Telehealth is a win for all parties up and down the healthcare treatment chain. With Livongo's integration costs and stock-based compensation expected to decline significantly in 2022, the company has a pretty clear path to profitability by 2024, if not sooner.Furthermore, don't overlook the importance of Teladoc and Livongo being able to cross-sell on each other's platforms. Though the Livongo deal was pricey in hindsight, it's going to fuel sustainable sales growth of 20% to 30% throughout the decade. This makes the nearly 80% retracement in Teladoc's shares since February 2021 an ideal buying opportunity.Image source: Getty Images.QorvoAnother smart stock that's begging to be bought with $300 is semiconductor solutions company Qorvo. Shares have retraced by roughly 35% over the past nine months, which doesn't make much sense given how well Qorvo has been executing. There are three core catalysts that should have investors excited about the discount they can nab on Qorvo right now.To start with, it should be a prime beneficiary of the 5G wireless revolution. There may not be a company in the world with a more loyal customer base than Apple, meaning the 5G-capable iPhone, and its many variations, should continue to drive revenue and profit growth for Qorvo. The third upside impetus is the company's ancillary revenue opportunities outside of smartphones. For instance, Qorvo provides advanced antennas that allow next-gen automobiles to connect to the cloud. While these ancillary revenue streams take a back seat to smartphones in terms of total sales, they'll likely be a faster growth opportunity throughout the decade. With Qorvo offering low double-digit sales growth and a forward-year price-to-earnings ratio of just 10, it looks to be a perfect blend of growth and value.Image source: Getty Images.AT&TFor you value investors, telecom stock AT&T might just be one of the smartest places to put $300 to work right now. What started out as a joke has enabled some to laugh all the way to the bank.
\n
On the other hand, skeptics about Dogecoin would be just as quick to note that it has given up more than 60% of its earlier gains. Anyone who jumped on the Dogecoin late is probably sitting on some hefty losses.
\n
Regardless of what your take is on Dogecoin, what really matters is where you should put your money now. One place to get some investment ideas is Robinhood's 100 most popular stocks list. Here are two popular Robinhood stocks that could crush Dogecoin going forward.
\n
\n
NVIDIA
\n
While Dogecoin has nosedived in recent months, NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA) stock has taken off. One reason why is NVIDIA's upcoming four-for-one stock split. While stock splits don't impact a company's valuation directly, they can attract greater numbers of small investors.
\n
However, there are plenty of even better reasons to like NVIDIA that have nothing to do with its stock split. The most obvious one is the company's gaming business.
\n
Gaming remains NVIDIA's biggest moneymaker, generating $2.8 billion of the company's total revenue of nearly $5.7 billion in the first quarter of 2021. And business is booming. NVIDIA's gaming revenue more than doubled year over year.
\n
It isn't just that gaming is increasing in popularity (although that is the case). NVIDIA benefits from regular hardware upgrade cycles. New games require even more processing power, which drives demand for the more powerful graphics processing units (GPUs).
\n
I especially like that NVIDIA is leveraging its gaming expertise to target new markets. For example, the company recently unveiled Omniverse Enterprise, a platform where design teams can build 3D virtual simulations and collaborate in real-time. In effect, NVIDIA is turning work into play (or vice versa, depending on how you look at it).
\n
NVIDIA CFO Colette Kress said in the company's Q1 conference call, \"As the world becomes more digital, virtual and collaborative, we see a significant revenue opportunity for Omniverse.\" I think that Kress's optimism is well-founded.
\n
Don't overlook NVIDIA's potential in the data center market, though. The company posted data center revenue of more than $2 billion in Q1, up 79% year over year. NVIDIA should enjoy sustained growth as more applications include artificial intelligence (AI).
\n
Assuming NVIDIA's pending acquisition of Arm passes regulatory hurdles, the company should further cement its leadership position in AI. In particular, the Arm deal would boost NVIDIA's presence in the fast-growing Internet of Things market with chips for mobile devices.
\n
Sure, an overall cryptocurrency crash could cause NVIDIA's shares to fall due to the popularity of the company's GPUs with crypto miners. It's happened before. However, the company has taken steps to segment its gaming business from crypto. I think that any pullback would only be temporary. NVIDIA has too many other strong growth drivers.
\n
Moderna
\n
Most companies can't honestly say that they've helped change the world. Moderna (NASDAQ:MRNA) can.
\n
The biotech's COVID-19 vaccine was second only to the vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech to win U.S. Emergency Use Authorization (EUA). Moderna reported $1.9 billion in sales for the vaccine in Q1, but that's just the tip of the iceberg.
\n
Based on supply agreements in place as of early May, Moderna projected that its COVID-19 vaccine would rake in sales this year of $19.2 billion. However, the company has secured additional deals since then.
\n
In just the past two weeks, Moderna has landed two new huge supply agreements. The U.S. government is buying 200 million additional doses of Moderna's COVID19 vaccine. The European Commission agreed to purchase another 150 million doses.
\n
But does Moderna's market cap of close to $90 billion already price all of this growth in? To some extent, yes. However, shares still are trading at only around 10.5 times expected earnings. That's an attractive valuation, especially for a biotech stock.
\n
The big question for Moderna is how strong the recurring revenue from its COVID-19 vaccine will be. While the sales levels of 2021 and 2022 might not be sustainable over the long run, annual vaccinations could be likely (especially with emerging coronavirus variants). I expect Moderna will be able to count on significant COVID-19 vaccine sales for years to come.
\n
Then there's the pipeline. Moderna plans to advance its cytomegalovirus (CMV) vaccine into late-stage testing this year. It could easily be a megablockbuster if approved. The company has a dozen other programs in clinical testing.
\n
Moderna hopes to use its newfound riches to dramatically boost its pipeline in the near future. What started out as a joke has enabled some to laugh all the way to the bank.\nOn the other hand, skeptics about Dogecoin would be just as quick to note that it has given up more than 60% of its earlier gains. Anyone who jumped on the Dogecoin late is probably sitting on some hefty losses.\nRegardless of what your take is on Dogecoin, what really matters is where you should put your money now. One place to get some investment ideas is Robinhood's 100 most popular stocks list. Here are two popular Robinhood stocks that could crush Dogecoin going forward.\nImage source: Getty Images.\nNVIDIA\nWhile Dogecoin has nosedived in recent months, NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA) stock has taken off. One reason why is NVIDIA's upcoming four-for-one stock split. While stock splits don't impact a company's valuation directly, they can attract greater numbers of small investors.\nHowever, there are plenty of even better reasons to like NVIDIA that have nothing to do with its stock split. The most obvious one is the company's gaming business.\nGaming remains NVIDIA's biggest moneymaker, generating $2.8 billion of the company's total revenue of nearly $5.7 billion in the first quarter of 2021. And business is booming. NVIDIA's gaming revenue more than doubled year over year.\nIt isn't just that gaming is increasing in popularity (although that is the case). NVIDIA benefits from regular hardware upgrade cycles. New games require even more processing power, which drives demand for the more powerful graphics processing units (GPUs).\nI especially like that NVIDIA is leveraging its gaming expertise to target new markets. For example, the company recently unveiled Omniverse Enterprise, a platform where design teams can build 3D virtual simulations and collaborate in real-time. In effect, NVIDIA is turning work into play (or vice versa, depending on how you look at it).\nNVIDIA CFO Colette Kress said in the company's Q1 conference call, \"As the world becomes more digital, virtual and collaborative, we see a significant revenue opportunity for Omniverse.\" I think that Kress's optimism is well-founded.\nDon't overlook NVIDIA's potential in the data center market, though. The company posted data center revenue of more than $2 billion in Q1, up 79% year over year. NVIDIA should enjoy sustained growth as more applications include artificial intelligence (AI).\nAssuming NVIDIA's pending acquisition of Arm passes regulatory hurdles, the company should further cement its leadership position in AI. In particular, the Arm deal would boost NVIDIA's presence in the fast-growing Internet of Things market with chips for mobile devices.\nSure, an overall cryptocurrency crash could cause NVIDIA's shares to fall due to the popularity of the company's GPUs with crypto miners. It's happened before. However, the company has taken steps to segment its gaming business from crypto. I think that any pullback would only be temporary. NVIDIA has too many other strong growth drivers.\nModerna\nMost companies can't honestly say that they've helped change the world. Moderna (NASDAQ:MRNA) can.\nThe biotech's COVID-19 vaccine was second only to the vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech to win U.S. Emergency Use Authorization (EUA). Moderna reported $1.9 billion in sales for the vaccine in Q1, but that's just the tip of the iceberg.\nBased on supply agreements in place as of early May, Moderna projected that its COVID-19 vaccine would rake in sales this year of $19.2 billion. However, the company has secured additional deals since then.\nIn just the past two weeks, Moderna has landed two new huge supply agreements. The U.S. government is buying 200 million additional doses of Moderna's COVID19 vaccine. The European Commission agreed to purchase another 150 million doses.\nBut does Moderna's market cap of close to $90 billion already price all of this growth in? To some extent, yes. However, shares still are trading at only around 10.5 times expected earnings. That's an attractive valuation, especially for a biotech stock.\nThe big question for Moderna is how strong the recurring revenue from its COVID-19 vaccine will be. While the sales levels of 2021 and 2022 might not be sustainable over the long run, annual vaccinations could be likely (especially with emerging coronavirus variants). I expect Moderna will be able to count on significant COVID-19 vaccine sales for years to come.\nThen there's the pipeline. Moderna plans to advance its cytomegalovirus (CMV) vaccine into late-stage testing this year. It could easily be a megablockbuster if approved. The company has a dozen other programs in clinical testing.\nModerna hopes to use its newfound riches to dramatically boost its pipeline in the near future. CEO Stephane Bancel has stated that he'd like to have up to 50 clinical programs.\nAll of Moderna's current and planned pipeline programs are based on its messenger RNA (mRNA) technology. The company has maintained for a long time that if its mRNA approach worked for one disease, it would work for many diseases. If Moderna is right, the biotech stock should be a massive winner over the long run -- and could very well crush Dogecoin.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":36,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[{"author":{"id":"3570656625926041","authorId":"3570656625926041","name":"Alfred1007","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/81d8406380cbc0525927f00a9510f2fa","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"idStr":"3570656625926041","authorIdStr":"3570656625926041"},"content":"prices a bit high now","text":"prices a bit high now","html":"prices a bit high now"}],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":104695296,"gmtCreate":1620382009215,"gmtModify":1704342853341,"author":{"id":"3576299146818908","authorId":"3576299146818908","name":"Aaden","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/0badbe7763ff2fb009c583446388ad99","crmLevel":9,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3576299146818908","authorIdStr":"3576299146818908"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Buy the dip.
