Investor protection and preventing money laundering are particular concerns.</p><p>Cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin and ether have been on a roller-coaster ride this week which has raised further questions about their potential as mainstream investments.</p><p>Dozens of cryptocurrency exchanges operate in Hong Kong, including some of the world's largest. The city currently has an \"opt in\" approach under which exchanges can apply to be licenced by markets watchdog the Securities and Futures Commission, but do not have to.</p><p>Hong Kong's Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/FSTB\">$(FSTB)$</a> has been consulting the market on changes to those rules since last year.</p><p>The FSTB said on Friday in its consultation conclusions all virtual asset (crypto currency) exchanges should be licensed if they wished to operate in Hong Kong.</p><p>It also said \"confining the services of a VA exchange to professional investors.... is appropriate at least for the initial stage of the licensing regime.\"</p><p>Local financial technology and crypto industry associations have opposed regulation stopping exchanges from offering services to retail investors, warning this could drive exchanges out of Hong Kong and push investors onto unregulated venues.</p><p>According to Hong Kong law, an individual must have a portfolio of HK$8 million ($1.03 million) to count as a professional investor.</p><p>Regulators and governments in Asia have different attitudes to regulating cryptocurrencies and the exchanges on which they are traded.</p><p>Under Singapore's regime, crypto exchanges must be licenced, but can have retail investors as clients. AT&amp;T: High dividends are calling</b></h2><p>AT&amp;T is a Dividend Aristocrat that has been a bargain this year, but it may not stay that way for long. The telecommunications giant has lagged the <b>S&amp;P 500</b> index and is up a little more than 5% over the past 12 months, but up more than 9% in 2021. The company has raised its dividend for 36 consecutive years and currently has a yield of 6.64%.</p><p>Revenue was a reported $43.9 billion in the first quarter of 2021, up 2.7% year over year. Net income grew to $7.9 billion, up 60% over the same period in 2020, and the company's free cash flow was listed as $5.9 billion, up 51% year over year. The dividend payout is safe, with a ratio of 63.5%.</p><p>All three segments of the company's business have seen growth. In communications, the company had 64.8 million postpaid phone subscribers, up 0.76% sequentially. Revenue was $28.1 billion, up 5.2% year over year. The WarnerMedia segment had revenue of $8.5 billion, up 9.8% year over year. The company's Latin America segment had $1.3 billion in revenue compared to $1.28 billion in the same quarter of 2020.</p><p>The biggest concern about AT&amp;T is its debt. It has $160.6 billion in long-term debt, up 4% sequentially. Its annualized net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA is 3.13, compared to 2.63 last year. On the first-quarter earnings call, CFO Pascal Desroches said that the company plans to focus on paying down that debt this year.</p><h2><b>2. W.P. Carey: A raise every quarter</b></h2><p>W.P. Carey has seen its stock rise more than 24% over the past 12 months and more than 7% this year. The company's dividend offers a yield of 5.6%, with a twist: The company has raised its dividend for 79 consecutive quarters, including a bump from $1.046 to $1.048 per share in March. The diversified real estate investment trust (REIT) has 1,274 properties across 25 countries, including industrial, warehouse, retail, office, and self-storage properties.</p><p>The company has seen growth in adjusted funds from operations (AFFO) the past three quarters, though its fourth-quarter AFFO of $212.6 million is down 4% year over year. Its AFFO in 2020 was $4.74 per diluted share, down 5.2% from 2019. The company was pretty much unfazed by the pandemic -- its low came when it received 96% of contractual rent in May, but in the fourth quarter, that number was back up to 99%, followed by 98% in January.</p><p>It has not only raised its quarterly dividend for 23 consecutive years, but its AFFO payout ratio (trailing 12 months) is 88.19, conservative for a REIT.</p><p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/b9522ac8783b80e9beb8eb160a591309\" tg-width=\"720\" tg-height=\"486\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\">Data by YCharts.</p><h2><b>3. Sabra Healthcare: A growing trend that's hard to ignore</b></h2><p>Sabra Healthcare, a REIT that specializes in medical facilities, cut its dividend last year from $0.45 to $0.30, and has yet to raise it again. But even with that trim, the yield on the company's dividend it 6.6%. The pandemic made for a challenging year for REITs that focus on nursing homes, and Sabra -- which owns nursing homes, senior living facilities, and specialty hospitals -- is continuing to deal with the headwinds. Many people are still reluctant to live in nursing homes, and in the fourth quarter, total occupancy&nbsp;dropped to 80.2%, down 8.6% year over year.</p><p>Other discouraging numbers: The company's AFFO per share for the year was $1.74, down from $2.08 the year before. And for the fourth quarter, the company issued bleak guidance of $0.38-$0.39 of AFFO per share, compared to $0.42 in the fourth quarter of 2020.</p><p>So why is Sabra worth watching? I think the paltry 4% rise in the company's stock this year presents an opportunity because the company's fundamentals are still strong. Sabra collected 99% of its rents from the beginning of the pandemic through February of 2021. As for the dividend, it is well covered with a payout ratio of 73% of normalized AFFO per share. The company also did a good job of lowering its debt, knocking down its net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA ratio from 5.7 to 4.9.</p><p>The long-term prognosis for nursing homes is still a growth trend, as our population continues to age. The pandemic reversed the growth of occupancy for nursing homes, but not forever. In the meantime, the company's dividend is a nice reward for waiting for a turnaround.</p><h2><b>4. Williams Companies: A boon to investors</b></h2><p>Williams Companies' stock is up more than 31% over the past 12 months, and more than 21% this year. The company's dividend, which offers a current yield of 6.73% is enticing. The company has raised its dividend the past five years.</p><p>The company delivers 30% of the country's natural gas through its more than 30,000 miles of pipelines. Last year was a difficult <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AONE\">one</a> for oil and gas companies, with oil and natural gas prices down, but Williams Companies still improved its numbers over 2019 by reducing capital expenditures. Its adjusted EBITDA of $5.1 million was up 2% year over year, while its adjusted funds from operations of $3.6 million were up 1% year over year. The company's cash dividend payout ratio, while still precariously high at 87.39%, is down from where it was in 2019.</p><p>The company raised its quarterly dividend 5.3% last year to $0.40 per share, and has already raised it 2.5% this year to $0.41 per share.</p><h2><b>5: TFS Financial: Dividends you can bank on</b></h2><p>TFS Financial, based in Cleveland, is a holding company whose subsidiaries make most of their money from offering mortgage loans, though they also have savings and checking accounts. The company's shares are up more than 10% this year and more than 37% over the past 12 months. Its dividend yields 5.73% with a cash dividend payout ratio (TTM) of 45.9%.</p><p>In 2020, TFS Financial reported annual revenue of $509 million, up only 1.9% year over year, but marking the sixth consecutive year it grew revenue. It also reported annual net income last year of $83 million, up 3.8% over 2019.</p><p>The company has stressed its commitment to its dividend, which has climbed 300% over the past 10 years.</p><h2><b>Making the best of a good situation</b></h2><p>All five of these stocks are worth watching because of their dividend growth and high yields. AT&T: High dividends are callingAT&T is a Dividend Aristocrat that has been a bargain this year, but it may not stay that way for long. The telecommunications giant has lagged the S&P 500 index and is up a little more than 5% over the past 12 months, but up more than 9% in 2021. The company has raised its dividend for 36 consecutive years and currently has a yield of 6.64%.Revenue was a reported $43.9 billion in the first quarter of 2021, up 2.7% year over year. Net income grew to $7.9 billion, up 60% over the same period in 2020, and the company's free cash flow was listed as $5.9 billion, up 51% year over year. The dividend payout is safe, with a ratio of 63.5%.All three segments of the company's business have seen growth. In communications, the company had 64.8 million postpaid phone subscribers, up 0.76% sequentially. Revenue was $28.1 billion, up 5.2% year over year. The WarnerMedia segment had revenue of $8.5 billion, up 9.8% year over year. The company's Latin America segment had $1.3 billion in revenue compared to $1.28 billion in the same quarter of 2020.The biggest concern about AT&T is its debt. It has $160.6 billion in long-term debt, up 4% sequentially. Its annualized net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA is 3.13, compared to 2.63 last year. On the first-quarter earnings call, CFO Pascal Desroches said that the company plans to focus on paying down that debt this year.2. W.P. Carey: A raise every quarterW.P. Carey has seen its stock rise more than 24% over the past 12 months and more than 7% this year. The company's dividend offers a yield of 5.6%, with a twist: The company has raised its dividend for 79 consecutive quarters, including a bump from $1.046 to $1.048 per share in March. The diversified real estate investment trust (REIT) has 1,274 properties across 25 countries, including industrial, warehouse, retail, office, and self-storage properties.The company has seen growth in adjusted funds from operations (AFFO) the past three quarters, though its fourth-quarter AFFO of $212.6 million is down 4% year over year. Its AFFO in 2020 was $4.74 per diluted share, down 5.2% from 2019. The company was pretty much unfazed by the pandemic -- its low came when it received 96% of contractual rent in May, but in the fourth quarter, that number was back up to 99%, followed by 98% in January.It has not only raised its quarterly dividend for 23 consecutive years, but its AFFO payout ratio (trailing 12 months) is 88.19, conservative for a REIT.Data by YCharts.3. Sabra Healthcare: A growing trend that's hard to ignoreSabra Healthcare, a REIT that specializes in medical facilities, cut its dividend last year from $0.45 to $0.30, and has yet to raise it again. But even with that trim, the yield on the company's dividend it 6.6%. The pandemic made for a challenging year for REITs that focus on nursing homes, and Sabra -- which owns nursing homes, senior living facilities, and specialty hospitals -- is continuing to deal with the headwinds. Many people are still reluctant to live in nursing homes, and in the fourth quarter, total occupancy dropped to 80.2%, down 8.6% year over year.Other discouraging numbers: The company's AFFO per share for the year was $1.74, down from $2.08 the year before. And for the fourth quarter, the company issued bleak guidance of $0.38-$0.39 of AFFO per share, compared to $0.42 in the fourth quarter of 2020.So why is Sabra worth watching? I think the paltry 4% rise in the company's stock this year presents an opportunity because the company's fundamentals are still strong. Sabra collected 99% of its rents from the beginning of the pandemic through February of 2021. As for the dividend, it is well covered with a payout ratio of 73% of normalized AFFO per share. The company also did a good job of lowering its debt, knocking down its net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA ratio from 5.7 to 4.9.The long-term prognosis for nursing homes is still a growth trend, as our population continues to age. The pandemic reversed the growth of occupancy for nursing homes, but not forever. In the meantime, the company's dividend is a nice reward for waiting for a turnaround.4. Williams Companies: A boon to investorsWilliams Companies' stock is up more than 31% over the past 12 months, and more than 21% this year. The company's dividend, which offers a current yield of 6.73% is enticing. The company has raised its dividend the past five years.The company delivers 30% of the country's natural gas through its more than 30,000 miles of pipelines. Last year was a difficult one for oil and gas companies, with oil and natural gas prices down, but Williams Companies still improved its numbers over 2019 by reducing capital expenditures. Its adjusted EBITDA of $5.1 million was up 2% year over year, while its adjusted funds from operations of $3.6 million were up 1% year over year. The company's cash dividend payout ratio, while still precariously high at 87.39%, is down from where it was in 2019.The company raised its quarterly dividend 5.3% last year to $0.40 per share, and has already raised it 2.5% this year to $0.41 per share.5: TFS Financial: Dividends you can bank onTFS Financial, based in Cleveland, is a holding company whose subsidiaries make most of their money from offering mortgage loans, though they also have savings and checking accounts. The company's shares are up more than 10% this year and more than 37% over the past 12 months. Its dividend yields 5.73% with a cash dividend payout ratio (TTM) of 45.9%.In 2020, TFS Financial reported annual revenue of $509 million, up only 1.9% year over year, but marking the sixth consecutive year it grew revenue. It also reported annual net income last year of $83 million, up 3.8% over 2019.The company has stressed its commitment to its dividend, which has climbed 300% over the past 10 years.Making the best of a good situationAll five of these stocks are worth watching because of their dividend growth and high yields. Also known the digital yuan or e-CNY, the digital currency is a way to replace coins and cash in circulation and is primarily focused on domestic use.\nThe digital yuan has not been rolled out nationwide yet, but the PBOC has carried out a number of trials across major cities in China. These pilot projects are conducted in the form of lotteries where the digital yuan is handed out to residents of a city for them to spend at certain retailers.JD.com has participated in these trials.\nOn Sunday, JD.com said in a blog post it had cooperated with the PBOC on the digital currency trials. The company also said it used the electronic money to pay salaries for some of its employees in January. JD revealed that it used the DC/EP to make payments to other businesses, too.\nJD’s efforts highlight new uses for China’s digital currency. The president addresses a joint session of Congress Wednesday evening.It’s a huge week for earnings with about a third of the S&P 500 reporting, including Big Tech names, such as Apple,Microsoft,Alphabet and Amazon.As many have already done, firms like Boeing, Ford,Caterpillar and McDonald’s, are likely to detail cost pressures they are facing from rising materials and transportation costs and supply chain disruptions.At the same time, the Fed is expected to defend its policy of letting inflation run hot, while assuring markets it sees the pick-up in prices as only temporary. The central bank meets on Tuesday and Wednesday.The central bank takes the main stage“I think the Fed would like not to be a feature next week, but the Fed will be forced from the background because of concerns about inflation,” said Diane Swonk, chief economist at Grant Thornton.The central bank is not expected to make any policy moves, but Fed Chairman Jerome Powell’s press briefing following the meeting Wednesday will be closely watched.So far, the barrage of earnings news has been positive, with 86% of companies reporting earnings beats. Corporate profits are expected to be up about 33.9% for the first quarter, based on estimates and actual reports, according to Refinitiv. Revenues are about 9.9% higher.There is important inflation data Friday when the Fed’s preferred inflation gauge is reported.The personal consumption expenditure report is expected to show a 1.8% rise in core inflation, still below the Fed’s target of 2%. Other data releases include the first-quarter gross domestic product on Thursday, which is expected to have grown by 6.5%, according to Dow Jones.“I think the Fed has no urgency to shift monetary policy at this point,” said Ian Lyngen, head of U.S. rates strategy at BMO. “The Fed needs to acknowledge that the data is improving. We had a strong first quarter.”“The Fed needs to acknowledge that but at the same time they’re keeping extremely accommodative policy in place, so they’ll have to make a note to the fact that the easy policy is warranted,” he said.Lyngen said the Fed will likely point to continued concerns about the pandemic globally as a potential risk to the economic recovery.Powell is also expected to once more explain that the Fed will let inflation rise above its 2% target for a period of time before it raises rates so that the economy can have more time to heal. “It’s going to be a challenge for the Fed,” said Swonk.The base effects for the next several months will make inflation appear to have jumped sharply because of the comparison to a weak period last year. The consumer price index for April could be above 3%, compared to 2.6% last month, Swonk added.“The Fed is trying to let a lot more people get out onto the dance floor before it calls ‘last call,’” she said. “Really what Powell has been saying since day one is if we take care of people on the margins and bring them back into the labor force, the rest will take care of itself.”Stocks were slightly lower in the past week, and Treasury yields held at lower levels. The 10-year yield,which moves opposite price, was at 1.55% Friday.The S&P 500was down 0.1%, ending the week at 4,180, while Nasdaq Composite was down nearly 0.3% at 14,016. The Dow was off just shy of 0.5% at 34,043.Tax hike prospectsStocks were hit hard on Thursday when after a news report said that Biden is expected to propose a capital gains tax rate of 39.6% for people earning more than $1 million a year.Combined with the 3.8% net investment income tax, the new levy would more than double the long term capital gains rate of 20% or the richest Americans.Strategists said Biden is expected to propose raising the income tax rate for those earning more than $400,000.“I think a lot of people are starting to price in the risk there going to be a significant increase in both corporate and capital gains taxes,” said Lyngen.So far, companies have not provided much in the way of commentary on the proposed hike in corporate taxes to 28% from 21% but they have been talking about other costs.David Bianco, chief investment strategist for the Americas at DWS, said he expects larger companies will do better dealing with supply chain constraints than smaller ones. Big Tech is also likely to fare better during the semiconductor shortage than auto makers, which have already announced production shutdowns, he said.“Next week is tech week. I think we’re going to get down on our knees and just be in awe of their business models and their ability to grow at a behemoth scale,” Bianco said.He said he’s not in favor of Wall Street’s popular trade into cyclicals and out of growth. He still favors growth.“We’re overweight equities really because we’re concerned about rising interest rates,” Bianco said. “I’m not bullish in that I expect the market to rise that much from here.”“We stuck with growth and dug deeper into bond substitutes, utilities, staples, real estate,” he said, adding he is underweight industrials, energy and materials. “Energy is doomed. It’s being nationalized via regulation. I do like industrials, they are well-run companies, but I do think infrastructure spending expectations for classic infrastructure are too high.”He also said industrials are good businesses, but the stocks have become overvalued.Bianco said he likes big box stores, but smaller retailers are facing big challenges that were already impacting them prior to Covid. He also finds small biotech firms attractive.“I like healthcare stocks. Those valuations are reasonable. People have been paranoid about politicians beating on them since 1992. However, <b>Berkshire Hathaway</b> (NYSE:BRK.A) (NYSE:BRK.B) actually underperformed the <b>S&amp;P 500</b> over the last 10 years -- mostly because it didn't own many of the technology stocks that accounted for much of the market's gain.</p>\n<p>Now 90 years old, Buffett knows he'll eventually have to pass the torch to his successors, so he's been trying out some of their ideas. The big winner has been <b>Apple</b>, which now accounts for 38% of Berkshire's portfolio. Berkshire has added other tech stocks as well, such as <b><a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/SNOW\">Snowflake</a></b> and <b><a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/STNE\">StoneCo</a></b>, which deviate heavily from the way Buffett is known to invest.</p>\n<p>Despite these new companies, the vast majority of Berkshire's holdings are in dividend stocks, mostly in the financial and consumer staples sectors. However, only five of the 49 securities that Berkshire holds are Dividend Aristocrats -- members of the S&amp;P 500 that have raised their dividends for at least 25 consecutive years. They are <b>Coca-Cola</b> (NYSE:KO), <b>Chevron </b>(NYSE:CVX), <b>AbbVie</b> (NYSE:ABBV), <b>Johnson &amp; Johnson</b> (NYSE:JNJ), and <b>Procter &amp; Gamble</b> (NYSE:PG). The pandemic took a toll on Coke's top and bottom line, which is understandable considering many of the restaurants, resorts, and entertainment venues that sell its products were closed.&nbsp;However, the company's performance was on a downtrend even before the pandemic.</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/47fb617d5225b2b87be879d1818e7ad9\" tg-width=\"720\" tg-height=\"482\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\"></p>\n<p>KO Revenue (Annual) data by YCharts</p>\n<p>Shifting consumer behaviors away from soda toward healthier options paired with limited growth avenues makes Coke's trajectory uncertain. Management is guiding for around $2.15 in 2021 non-GAAP earnings per share (EPS), which would give it a forward P/E ratio around 25. That's not exactly cheap for a slow grower. The only thing really going for Coke is its stable and growing payout. The company is guiding for non-GAAP 2021 free cash flow (FCF) of $8.5 billion, which is more than enough to cover its $7.1 billion in dividend obligations. Coke is likely to continue distributing the majority of its FCF as a dividend payment. But given Coke's valuation and shaky performance, it's best to steer clear unless its price comes down significantly.</p>\n<h2>2. Chevron</h2>\n<h3>Berkshire Hathaway Portfolio Stats</h3>\n<p>Value: $4.99 billion</p>\n<p>Allocation: 1.6%</p>\n<p>Rank: 10/49 securities</p>\n<p>Dividend Yield: 5%</p>\n<p>The energy sector is full of risky companies and high-yield dividend stocks that are riddled with debt. But it's also <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AONE\">one</a> of the best sectors to find value. Buffett is well aware of this opportunity. And although Berkshire owns just two energy stocks, Chevron and <b>Suncor Energy</b>, it also owns 91.1% of Berkshire Hathaway Energy, which has over $100 billion in assets.</p>\n<p>Chevron has Buffett written all over it. After an expansion period of high spending and mounting debt, Chevron has spent the last five years decreasing its spending and improving its balance sheet. It has arguably the best balance sheet of the oil majors and can sustain its current oil and gas production without outlaying too much capital. This provides advantages over bulkier majors like <b>ExxonMobil</b>. With WTI oil prices above $60 a barrel, Chevron is well-positioned to have a nice recovery and continue raising its dividend, which currently yields 5%.</p>\n<h2>3. AbbVie</h2>\n<h3>Berkshire Hathaway Portfolio Stats</h3>\n<p>Value: $2.76 billion</p>\n<p>Allocation: 0.9%</p>\n<p>Rank: 15/49 securities</p>\n<p>Dividend Yield: 4.6%</p>\n<p>AbbVie was spun off from <b>Abbott Laboratories</b> in 2013 and has raised its dividend ever since. And because Abbott was a Dividend Aristocrat in 2013 (and continues to be today), that makes AbbVie <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AONE.U\">one</a> as well.</p>\n<p>Buffett has been increasingly looking at the healthcare industry for value and dividends. AbbVie's 4.8% dividend yield and low valuation are right up Buffett's alley. It generated $10.56 billion in 2020 adjusted diluted EPS, giving it an adjusted P/E ratio of just 10. It's also guiding for around $12.42 in adjusted diluted 2021 EPS. The only real danger with AbbVie is its concentrated drug portfolio. 43% of 2020 revenue came from Humira, the leading prescription medicine used to treat Crohn's disease.&nbsp;Humira's revenue is expected to decline in the coming years, so AbbVie is developing new drugs to help offset that revenue loss. AbbVie isn't without its risks, but it seems like a reasonable value right now.</p>\n<h2>4. Johnson &amp; Johnson (J&amp;J)</h2>\n<h3>Berkshire Hathaway Portfolio Stats</h3>\n<p>Value: $53.1 million</p>\n<p>Allocation: 0.02%</p>\n<p>Rank: 42/49 securities</p>\n<p>Dividend Yield: 2.5%</p>\n<p>J&amp;J made headlines last week after its COVID-19 vaccine was suspended due to reports of severe blood clots. It's the latest hiccup in the company's vaccine rollout, which was already lagging behind <b>Pfizer</b> and <b>Moderna</b>. However, J&amp;J's success doesn't depend on the vaccine. Far from it. J&amp;J is a massive healthcare behemoth that generates sales from three core segments -- pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and consumer goods. This reach gives it diverse revenue streams unlike AbbVie, which is a pure-play pharmaceutical company. J&amp;J has generated steady results throughout market cycles. So, although the vaccine delays may be giving J&amp;J a headache, it's got Tylenol and a slew of other brand products to back it up.</p>\n<p>J&amp;J is similar to Coca-Cola in that it isn't necessarily cheap, it isn't growing quickly, but it has the size and track record that dividend investors love. Chevron and AbbVie seem better positioned at this time, but it's hard to go wrong with J&amp;J.</p>\n<h2><b>5. All three companies are the largest U.S.-traded stocks by market cap in their respective industries. And all three have raised their dividends for 57 consecutive years. P&amp;G is the quintessential recession-proof stock. Demand for its products is relatively insulated from market cycles. However, P&amp;G is arguably a better consumer staple investment than Coke. Unlike Coke, it was able to grow revenue and earnings in 2020&nbsp;and plans on growing its organic sales further to cap off fiscal year 2021 (FY 2021). P&amp;G is also a cheaper stock, trading at a P/E ratio of 26 compared to Coke's 30. And finally, P&amp;G generates nearly twice the FCF needed to cover its dividend. Given its entrenched position and track record for stable low to mid-single-digit growth, P&amp;G is the safest Dividend Aristocrat on this list and arguably a better buy than Coke or J&amp;J.</p>\n<h2>A final takeaway</h2>\n<p>With the market at an all-time high, dividend stocks that yield over 3%, let alone 2%, are increasingly harder to come by. However, Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE:BRK.A) (NYSE:BRK.B) actually underperformed the S&P 500 over the last 10 years -- mostly because it didn't own many of the technology stocks that accounted for much of the market's gain.\nNow 90 years old, Buffett knows he'll eventually have to pass the torch to his successors, so he's been trying out some of their ideas. The big winner has been Apple, which now accounts for 38% of Berkshire's portfolio. Berkshire has added other tech stocks as well, such as Snowflake and StoneCo, which deviate heavily from the way Buffett is known to invest.\nDespite these new companies, the vast majority of Berkshire's holdings are in dividend stocks, mostly in the financial and consumer staples sectors. However, only five of the 49 securities that Berkshire holds are Dividend Aristocrats -- members of the S&P 500 that have raised their dividends for at least 25 consecutive years. They are Coca-Cola (NYSE:KO), Chevron (NYSE:CVX), AbbVie (NYSE:ABBV), Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ), and Procter & Gamble (NYSE:PG). Coca-Cola\nBerkshire Hathaway Portfolio Stats\nValue: $21.47 billion\nAllocation: 7.1%\nRank: 4/49 securities\nDividend Yield: 3.1%\nBuffett has owned Coca-Cola for what seems like forever, but that doesn't necessarily mean you should go out and buy shares of America's largest beverage company. The pandemic took a toll on Coke's top and bottom line, which is understandable considering many of the restaurants, resorts, and entertainment venues that sell its products were closed. However, the company's performance was on a downtrend even before the pandemic.\n\nKO Revenue (Annual) data by YCharts\nShifting consumer behaviors away from soda toward healthier options paired with limited growth avenues makes Coke's trajectory uncertain. Management is guiding for around $2.15 in 2021 non-GAAP earnings per share (EPS), which would give it a forward P/E ratio around 25. That's not exactly cheap for a slow grower. The only thing really going for Coke is its stable and growing payout. The company is guiding for non-GAAP 2021 free cash flow (FCF) of $8.5 billion, which is more than enough to cover its $7.1 billion in dividend obligations. Coke is likely to continue distributing the majority of its FCF as a dividend payment. But given Coke's valuation and shaky performance, it's best to steer clear unless its price comes down significantly.\n2. Chevron\nBerkshire Hathaway Portfolio Stats\nValue: $4.99 billion\nAllocation: 1.6%\nRank: 10/49 securities\nDividend Yield: 5%\nThe energy sector is full of risky companies and high-yield dividend stocks that are riddled with debt. But it's also one of the best sectors to find value. Buffett is well aware of this opportunity. And although Berkshire owns just two energy stocks, Chevron and Suncor Energy, it also owns 91.1% of Berkshire Hathaway Energy, which has over $100 billion in assets.\nChevron has Buffett written all over it. After an expansion period of high spending and mounting debt, Chevron has spent the last five years decreasing its spending and improving its balance sheet. It has arguably the best balance sheet of the oil majors and can sustain its current oil and gas production without outlaying too much capital. This provides advantages over bulkier majors like ExxonMobil. With WTI oil prices above $60 a barrel, Chevron is well-positioned to have a nice recovery and continue raising its dividend, which currently yields 5%.\n3. AbbVie\nBerkshire Hathaway Portfolio Stats\nValue: $2.76 billion\nAllocation: 0.9%\nRank: 15/49 securities\nDividend Yield: 4.6%\nAbbVie was spun off from Abbott Laboratories in 2013 and has raised its dividend ever since. And because Abbott was a Dividend Aristocrat in 2013 (and continues to be today), that makes AbbVie one as well.\nBuffett has been increasingly looking at the healthcare industry for value and dividends. AbbVie's 4.8% dividend yield and low valuation are right up Buffett's alley. It generated $10.56 billion in 2020 adjusted diluted EPS, giving it an adjusted P/E ratio of just 10. It's also guiding for around $12.42 in adjusted diluted 2021 EPS. The only real danger with AbbVie is its concentrated drug portfolio. 43% of 2020 revenue came from Humira, the leading prescription medicine used to treat Crohn's disease. Humira's revenue is expected to decline in the coming years, so AbbVie is developing new drugs to help offset that revenue loss. AbbVie isn't without its risks, but it seems like a reasonable value right now.\n4. Johnson & Johnson (J&J)\nBerkshire Hathaway Portfolio Stats\nValue: $53.1 million\nAllocation: 0.02%\nRank: 42/49 securities\nDividend Yield: 2.5%\nJ&J made headlines last week after its COVID-19 vaccine was suspended due to reports of severe blood clots. It's the latest hiccup in the company's vaccine rollout, which was already lagging behind Pfizer and Moderna. However, J&J's success doesn't depend on the vaccine. Far from it. J&J is a massive healthcare behemoth that generates sales from three core segments -- pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and consumer goods. This reach gives it diverse revenue streams unlike AbbVie, which is a pure-play pharmaceutical company. J&J has generated steady results throughout market cycles. So, although the vaccine delays may be giving J&J a headache, it's got Tylenol and a slew of other brand products to back it up.\nJ&J is similar to Coca-Cola in that it isn't necessarily cheap, it isn't growing quickly, but it has the size and track record that dividend investors love. Chevron and AbbVie seem better positioned at this time, but it's hard to go wrong with J&J.\n5. Procter & Gamble (P&G)\nBerkshire Hathaway Portfolio Stats\nValue: $43.3 million\nAllocation: 0.01%\nRank: 43/49 securities\nDividend Yield: 2.3%\nWhat does P&G have in common with Coke and J&J? All three companies are the largest U.S.-traded stocks by market cap in their respective industries. And all three have raised their dividends for 57 consecutive years. P&G is the quintessential recession-proof stock. Demand for its products is relatively insulated from market cycles. However, P&G is arguably a better consumer staple investment than Coke. Unlike Coke, it was able to grow revenue and earnings in 2020 and plans on growing its organic sales further to cap off fiscal year 2021 (FY 2021). P&G is also a cheaper stock, trading at a P/E ratio of 26 compared to Coke's 30. And finally, P&G generates nearly twice the FCF needed to cover its dividend. Given its entrenched position and track record for stable low to mid-single-digit growth, P&G is the safest Dividend Aristocrat on this list and arguably a better buy than Coke or J&J.\nA final takeaway\nWith the market at an all-time high, dividend stocks that yield over 3%, let alone 2%, are increasingly harder to come by. The average stock in the S&P 500 yields just 1.3%, the lowest level in 10 years.\n\nKO Dividend Yield data by YCharts\nDespite growth and valuation concerns, each Dividend Aristocrat that Berkshire owns deserves recognition for yielding over 2%. AT&amp;T: High dividends are calling</b></h2><p>AT&amp;T is a Dividend Aristocrat that has been a bargain this year, but it may not stay that way for long. The telecommunications giant has lagged the <b>S&amp;P 500</b> index and is up a little more than 5% over the past 12 months, but up more than 9% in 2021. The company has raised its dividend for 36 consecutive years and currently has a yield of 6.64%.</p><p>Revenue was a reported $43.9 billion in the first quarter of 2021, up 2.7% year over year. Net income grew to $7.9 billion, up 60% over the same period in 2020, and the company's free cash flow was listed as $5.9 billion, up 51% year over year. The dividend payout is safe, with a ratio of 63.5%.</p><p>All three segments of the company's business have seen growth. In communications, the company had 64.8 million postpaid phone subscribers, up 0.76% sequentially. Revenue was $28.1 billion, up 5.2% year over year. The WarnerMedia segment had revenue of $8.5 billion, up 9.8% year over year. The company's Latin America segment had $1.3 billion in revenue compared to $1.28 billion in the same quarter of 2020.</p><p>The biggest concern about AT&amp;T is its debt. It has $160.6 billion in long-term debt, up 4% sequentially. Its annualized net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA is 3.13, compared to 2.63 last year. On the first-quarter earnings call, CFO Pascal Desroches said that the company plans to focus on paying down that debt this year.</p><h2><b>2. W.P. Carey: A raise every quarter</b></h2><p>W.P. Carey has seen its stock rise more than 24% over the past 12 months and more than 7% this year. The company's dividend offers a yield of 5.6%, with a twist: The company has raised its dividend for 79 consecutive quarters, including a bump from $1.046 to $1.048 per share in March. The diversified real estate investment trust (REIT) has 1,274 properties across 25 countries, including industrial, warehouse, retail, office, and self-storage properties.</p><p>The company has seen growth in adjusted funds from operations (AFFO) the past three quarters, though its fourth-quarter AFFO of $212.6 million is down 4% year over year. Its AFFO in 2020 was $4.74 per diluted share, down 5.2% from 2019. The company was pretty much unfazed by the pandemic -- its low came when it received 96% of contractual rent in May, but in the fourth quarter, that number was back up to 99%, followed by 98% in January.</p><p>It has not only raised its quarterly dividend for 23 consecutive years, but its AFFO payout ratio (trailing 12 months) is 88.19, conservative for a REIT.</p><p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/b9522ac8783b80e9beb8eb160a591309\" tg-width=\"720\" tg-height=\"486\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\">Data by YCharts.</p><h2><b>3. Sabra Healthcare: A growing trend that's hard to ignore</b></h2><p>Sabra Healthcare, a REIT that specializes in medical facilities, cut its dividend last year from $0.45 to $0.30, and has yet to raise it again. But even with that trim, the yield on the company's dividend it 6.6%. The pandemic made for a challenging year for REITs that focus on nursing homes, and Sabra -- which owns nursing homes, senior living facilities, and specialty hospitals -- is continuing to deal with the headwinds. Many people are still reluctant to live in nursing homes, and in the fourth quarter, total occupancy&nbsp;dropped to 80.2%, down 8.6% year over year.</p><p>Other discouraging numbers: The company's AFFO per share for the year was $1.74, down from $2.08 the year before. And for the fourth quarter, the company issued bleak guidance of $0.38-$0.39 of AFFO per share, compared to $0.42 in the fourth quarter of 2020.</p><p>So why is Sabra worth watching? I think the paltry 4% rise in the company's stock this year presents an opportunity because the company's fundamentals are still strong. Sabra collected 99% of its rents from the beginning of the pandemic through February of 2021. As for the dividend, it is well covered with a payout ratio of 73% of normalized AFFO per share. The company also did a good job of lowering its debt, knocking down its net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA ratio from 5.7 to 4.9.</p><p>The long-term prognosis for nursing homes is still a growth trend, as our population continues to age. The pandemic reversed the growth of occupancy for nursing homes, but not forever. In the meantime, the company's dividend is a nice reward for waiting for a turnaround.</p><h2><b>4. Williams Companies: A boon to investors</b></h2><p>Williams Companies' stock is up more than 31% over the past 12 months, and more than 21% this year. The company's dividend, which offers a current yield of 6.73% is enticing. The company has raised its dividend the past five years.</p><p>The company delivers 30% of the country's natural gas through its more than 30,000 miles of pipelines. Last year was a difficult <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AONE\">one</a> for oil and gas companies, with oil and natural gas prices down, but Williams Companies still improved its numbers over 2019 by reducing capital expenditures. Its adjusted EBITDA of $5.1 million was up 2% year over year, while its adjusted funds from operations of $3.6 million were up 1% year over year. The company's cash dividend payout ratio, while still precariously high at 87.39%, is down from where it was in 2019.</p><p>The company raised its quarterly dividend 5.3% last year to $0.40 per share, and has already raised it 2.5% this year to $0.41 per share.</p><h2><b>5: TFS Financial: Dividends you can bank on</b></h2><p>TFS Financial, based in Cleveland, is a holding company whose subsidiaries make most of their money from offering mortgage loans, though they also have savings and checking accounts. The company's shares are up more than 10% this year and more than 37% over the past 12 months. Its dividend yields 5.73% with a cash dividend payout ratio (TTM) of 45.9%.</p><p>In 2020, TFS Financial reported annual revenue of $509 million, up only 1.9% year over year, but marking the sixth consecutive year it grew revenue. It also reported annual net income last year of $83 million, up 3.8% over 2019.</p><p>The company has stressed its commitment to its dividend, which has climbed 300% over the past 10 years.</p><h2><b>Making the best of a good situation</b></h2><p>All five of these stocks are worth watching because of their dividend growth and high yields. However, of the quintet, W.P. AT&T: High dividends are callingAT&T is a Dividend Aristocrat that has been a bargain this year, but it may not stay that way for long. The telecommunications giant has lagged the S&P 500 index and is up a little more than 5% over the past 12 months, but up more than 9% in 2021. The company has raised its dividend for 36 consecutive years and currently has a yield of 6.64%.Revenue was a reported $43.9 billion in the first quarter of 2021, up 2.7% year over year. Net income grew to $7.9 billion, up 60% over the same period in 2020, and the company's free cash flow was listed as $5.9 billion, up 51% year over year. The dividend payout is safe, with a ratio of 63.5%.All three segments of the company's business have seen growth. In communications, the company had 64.8 million postpaid phone subscribers, up 0.76% sequentially. Revenue was $28.1 billion, up 5.2% year over year. The WarnerMedia segment had revenue of $8.5 billion, up 9.8% year over year. The company's Latin America segment had $1.3 billion in revenue compared to $1.28 billion in the same quarter of 2020.The biggest concern about AT&T is its debt. It has $160.6 billion in long-term debt, up 4% sequentially. Its annualized net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA is 3.13, compared to 2.63 last year. On the first-quarter earnings call, CFO Pascal Desroches said that the company plans to focus on paying down that debt this year.2. W.P. Carey: A raise every quarterW.P. Carey has seen its stock rise more than 24% over the past 12 months and more than 7% this year. The company's dividend offers a yield of 5.6%, with a twist: The company has raised its dividend for 79 consecutive quarters, including a bump from $1.046 to $1.048 per share in March. The diversified real estate investment trust (REIT) has 1,274 properties across 25 countries, including industrial, warehouse, retail, office, and self-storage properties.The company has seen growth in adjusted funds from operations (AFFO) the past three quarters, though its fourth-quarter AFFO of $212.6 million is down 4% year over year. Its AFFO in 2020 was $4.74 per diluted share, down 5.2% from 2019. The company was pretty much unfazed by the pandemic -- its low came when it received 96% of contractual rent in May, but in the fourth quarter, that number was back up to 99%, followed by 98% in January.It has not only raised its quarterly dividend for 23 consecutive years, but its AFFO payout ratio (trailing 12 months) is 88.19, conservative for a REIT.Data by YCharts.3. Sabra Healthcare: A growing trend that's hard to ignoreSabra Healthcare, a REIT that specializes in medical facilities, cut its dividend last year from $0.45 to $0.30, and has yet to raise it again. But even with that trim, the yield on the company's dividend it 6.6%. The pandemic made for a challenging year for REITs that focus on nursing homes, and Sabra -- which owns nursing homes, senior living facilities, and specialty hospitals -- is continuing to deal with the headwinds. Many people are still reluctant to live in nursing homes, and in the fourth quarter, total occupancy dropped to 80.2%, down 8.6% year over year.Other discouraging numbers: The company's AFFO per share for the year was $1.74, down from $2.08 the year before. And for the fourth quarter, the company issued bleak guidance of $0.38-$0.39 of AFFO per share, compared to $0.42 in the fourth quarter of 2020.So why is Sabra worth watching? I think the paltry 4% rise in the company's stock this year presents an opportunity because the company's fundamentals are still strong. Sabra collected 99% of its rents from the beginning of the pandemic through February of 2021. As for the dividend, it is well covered with a payout ratio of 73% of normalized AFFO per share. The company also did a good job of lowering its debt, knocking down its net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA ratio from 5.7 to 4.9.The long-term prognosis for nursing homes is still a growth trend, as our population continues to age. The pandemic reversed the growth of occupancy for nursing homes, but not forever. In the meantime, the company's dividend is a nice reward for waiting for a turnaround.4. Williams Companies: A boon to investorsWilliams Companies' stock is up more than 31% over the past 12 months, and more than 21% this year. The company's dividend, which offers a current yield of 6.73% is enticing. The company has raised its dividend the past five years.The company delivers 30% of the country's natural gas through its more than 30,000 miles of pipelines. Last year was a difficult one for oil and gas companies, with oil and natural gas prices down, but Williams Companies still improved its numbers over 2019 by reducing capital expenditures. Its adjusted EBITDA of $5.1 million was up 2% year over year, while its adjusted funds from operations of $3.6 million were up 1% year over year. The company's cash dividend payout ratio, while still precariously high at 87.39%, is down from where it was in 2019.The company raised its quarterly dividend 5.3% last year to $0.40 per share, and has already raised it 2.5% this year to $0.41 per share.5: TFS Financial: Dividends you can bank onTFS Financial, based in Cleveland, is a holding company whose subsidiaries make most of their money from offering mortgage loans, though they also have savings and checking accounts. The company's shares are up more than 10% this year and more than 37% over the past 12 months. Its dividend yields 5.73% with a cash dividend payout ratio (TTM) of 45.9%.In 2020, TFS Financial reported annual revenue of $509 million, up only 1.9% year over year, but marking the sixth consecutive year it grew revenue. It also reported annual net income last year of $83 million, up 3.8% over 2019.The company has stressed its commitment to its dividend, which has climbed 300% over the past 10 years.Making the best of a good situationAll five of these stocks are worth watching because of their dividend growth and high yields. The&nbsp;cryptocurrency&nbsp;was back near $38,000 early Tuesday after falling below $32,000 at one point on Sunday. Crypto pricesrebounded as Elon Musk saidhe was having discussions with bitcoin miners regarding sustainability.</p><p>Tesla, a big holder of bitcoin, was higher by about 1% in premarket trading. Crypto-exchange Coinbase gained 1.7% with the shares also getting a boostfrom a JPMorgan buy call.</p><p>Big Tech shares Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, Netflix, Nvidia, and Alphabet were all higher in early trading.</p><p>There were broad gains in premarket trading. Airlines, cruise lines and Boeing were also higher. United Airlines jumped nearly 3% in premarket after the carrier said yields on domestic leisure tickets purchased this monthtopped 2019 levelsamid the reopening.</p><p>The major averages rose onMonday, led by tech stocks and companies that benefit from a strong reopening from the pandemic as Covid cases dropped totheir lowest level since June. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 186 points, helped by gains in Microsoft, Salesforce and Cisco.</p><p>The S&amp;P 500 climbed 1%. The Nasdaq Composite was the relative outperformer, jumping 1.4% as&nbsp;Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Netflix and Google-parent Alphabet posted gains. The small-cap benchmark Russell 2000 climbed 0.5%.</p><p>Monday \"was driven by inflation anxiety relief,\" Jim Paulsen, chief investment strategist at the Leuthold Group, told CNBC. \"Evidence that inflation fears were calming in the bond and commodity markets began to drive the stock market late last week and has continued into today.\"</p><p>\"Growth stocks including technology have regained leadership as yield and inflation fears ease,\" Paulsen added.</p><p>After Monday's gain, the S&amp;P 500 is now in the green for the month of May.
