closer look at these value stocks.","content":"

All of a sudden value stocks are hot. The Nasdaq has fallen nearly 20% from its peak in November, and high-growth stocks have gotten hit even harder with Cathie Wood's ARK Innovation Pacer Swan SOS Fund of Funds ETF|ETF down around 50% from its all-time highs.

In this kind of environment, it makes sense to shift your focus from high-priced, unprofitable growth stocks to overlooked value stocks. While value stocks have a reputation for being sleepy and slow growers, some undervalued stocks actually do have explosive growth potential.

Let's take a look three dirt-cheap stocks that could skyrocket.

1. Carparts.com

Carparts.com ( PRTS -1.67% ) is the leading, pure-play online retailer of auto parts. Unlike many retail sectors, only a small percentage of auto parts sales have moved online, leaving a lot of potential growth for pure-play e-commerce companies like Carparts.com. The online retailer also offers a number of competitive advantages over the brick-and-mortar chains like O'Reilly Automotive and AutoZone.

Most of the products that Carparts.com sells are private label, meaning the company can undercut its competitors by as much as 50%. It's also been rapidly expanding its warehouse network with plans to add a new warehouse in Florida this quarter, giving it seven across the country. Adding new warehouses both expands capacity and speeds up delivery time; the company's long-term goal is to serve more than 80% of the country with one-day delivery. Recently, management has said that supply rather than demand has been the primary constraint on sales growth, so growing inventory is key to driving growth.

Revenue jumped 34% last year to $582.4 million, and the company is targeting long-term revenue growth of 20%-25% annually and adjusted EBITDA margins of 8%-10%. Shifting sales to the e-commerce channel should act as a natural tailwind for the company, and it's also experimenting with new ideas like a mobile mechanic that can come to your home and fix your car with parts ordered from Carparts.com

Currently, the stock trades at a price-to-sales ratio of just 0.6, well below comparable online retailers like Wayfair and Chewy.

2. Resolute Forest Products

Commodities stocks are notoriously cyclical, and the boom in lumber prices has been a windfall for lumber stocks. Some are now historically cheap based on typical valuation ratios. For example, Resolute Forest Products ( RFP 0.63% ), a Canadian producer of wood products, paper, pulp, and tissue, is currently trading at a price-to-earnings ratio of just 2.

2021 was a unique year in lumber, with sky-high prices last spring. Lumber prices, currently at $880 per 1,000 board feet, are still well-above pre-pandemic levels. And even with the Federal Reserve hiking interest rates, prices for the building material should remain elevated due to the national housing shortage, especially as homeowners are still eager to leverage higher housing prices into home improvements.

While analysts expect Resolute's earnings per share to cool off this year, it's still trading at a P/E of less than four based on earnings estimates for both this year and next. Resolute is also shifting its business through acquisitions and other moves to have more exposure to high-margin wood products, rather than paper-based products.

In other words, if lumber prices remain elevated, Resolute's profits still have the potential to grow from here, and the stock could easily double, or better, from a bit of multiple expansion.

3. RH

RH ( RH -5.29% ), formerly known as Restoration Hardware, may be one of the best examples of a stock that offers an appealing combination of growth and value.

The high-end home furnishings stock has a strong record -- the stock has increased nearly 1,000% thanks to its strong brand and the leadership of CEO Gary Friedman. Like other home furnishings companies, RH also boomed during the pandemic, driven by lockdowns and spending on things like home offices as Americans spent more time at home.

However, the stock has pulled back more recently, down about 50% from its peak a few months ago, and the company's recent guidance was modest, calling for just single-digit revenue growth in 2022.

As a result of the sell-off, the stock now trades at a P/E of just 13. While growth may be slow this year, the company has plenty of long-term potential, especially as it's experimenting with becoming a lifestyle brand by opening hotels and restaurants, and leasing private jets. It's also planning to launch a streaming service focused on architecture and design, reinforcing its own brand and meeting demand for HGTV-like video content. Additionally, its membership model helps drive customer loyalty and maintain strong operating margins.

With the stock down so much from last fall, now looks like a great time to buy.

","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
3 Dirt-Cheap Stocks That Could Skyrocket
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n3 Dirt-Cheap Stocks That Could Skyrocket\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-04-17 07:53 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
All of a sudden value stocks are hot. The Nasdaq has fallen nearly 20% from its peak in November, and high-growth stocks have gotten hit even harder with Cathie Wood's ARK Innovation Pacer Swan SOS Fund of Funds ETF|ETF down around 50% from its all-time highs. In this kind of environment, it makes sense to shift your focus from high-priced, unprofitable growth stocks to overlooked value stocks. While value stocks have a reputation for being sleepy and slow growers, some undervalued stocks actually do have explosive growth potential.Let's take a look three dirt-cheap stocks that could skyrocket.Image source: Getty Images.1. Carparts.comCarparts.com ( PRTS -1.67% ) is the leading, pure-play online retailer of auto parts. (TWTR).Musk made a $43 billion bid for the social-media company last weekTesla said it earned $3.2 billion, or $2.86 a share, in the first quarter, compared with earnings of $438 million, or 39 cents a share, in the year-ago period.Adjusted for one-time items, the EV maker earned $3.22 a share.Revenue rose 81% to $18.6 billion from $10.39 billion a year ago, thanks to higher average car prices and growth in vehicle sales, the company said.Analysts polled by FactSet expected the company to report adjusted earnings of $2.26 a share on sales of $17.85 billion. The stock rallied near 5% after the results.\"I've never been more optimistic and excited in terms of the future than I am right now,\" Musk said in the call. \"We are obviously not demand-limited, we are production-limited -- very much production-limited.\"Musk reiterated that Tesla is working on a new vehicle, which will be a \"dedicated robotaxi\" that would be \"highly prioritized for autonomy,\" with no steering wheel or pedals and \"a number of other innovations,\" he said.A robotaxi ride would be significantly cheaper per mile than a regular car ride and \"less than a bus ticket, a subsidized bus ticket or subsidized subway ticket,\" Musk said.Tesla will achieve volume production of the vehicle in 2024, Musk said. He declined to give more details about the robotaxi, saying Tesla likely will hold an event to highlight the new vehicle next year.Tesla's electric pickup, the Cybertruck, is on track for 2023, he said.Tesla unexpectedly managed \"an impressive increase in revenue\" despite ongoing issues and \"even Musk's recent play for Twitter,\" Alyssa Altman at consultancy Publicis Sapient said. With the two newer factories in Berlin and Austin, Texas, \"the company seems well positioned to compensate for reduced production capacity in the Far East due to the Shanghai lockdown,\" Altman said.\"Tesla's surprises are common,\" but the way the company navigated inflationary pressures and supply-chain constraints was \"impressive,\" said Pedro Palandrani, an analyst at Global X. With the Federal Reserve having already raised rates once in 2022 and signaling six more significant hikes before the year is out, companies that trade at growth-dependent valuations have been under pressure. Making matters even worse, geopolitical pressures and worrying earnings performance from some high-profile industry leaders have also squashed investor confidence.

These days, you don't have to look too hard to find tech stocks trading down more than 70% from recent highs. Some of these companies will wind up delivering huge wins for long-term investors, but investors should still be smart about which ones they put their money behind. With that in mind, a panel of Motley Fool contributors has identified top picks from the crowd of beaten-down growth stocks.

This e-commerce disruptor trades for 2017-level valuations

Jason Hall: We are in the age of e-commerce. It almost doesn't matter what business you're in today; if you sell goods or services to customers, you need a website that can facilitate every part of the customer engagement. And if your business also relies on brick-and-mortar stores, having the right technology partner to help manage and integrate everything is incredibly important.

Shopify has emerged as, by far, the leader in providing merchants with solutions to the challenges of commerce, both in-person and online. Since its founding in 2006, it has steadily added more and more tools, including payments, marketing, integration with other e-commerce channels, shipping, and fulfillment.

This has supercharged its growth. Shopify's revenue grew 57% in 2021, continuing the momentum it got from 2020, when so many companies raced to build out their online capabilities. For context, last year's 57% revenue growth was stronger than the 47% growth in 2019. Despite the market's worries, this is no pandemic stock.

One more data point to demonstrate how powerful Shopify's business is: Its market share increased from 8.6% in 2020 to 10.3% in 2021. Only Amazon took more share -- from 39% to 41% -- and none of the top 10 increased their share by as large a percent.

Yet Mr. Market's massive tech sell-off -- along with worries about Shopify's plans to expand into the lower-return, higher-capital fulfillment business to support its merchants, has led investors to sell Shopify stock down 75% from the highs. Today's price is likely to make this a huge winner for investors over the next decade.

This social media stock has a massive market opportunity

Parkev Tatevosian: My top beaten-down growth stock to buy now is Pinterest. The image-based social media site thrived at the pandemic's onset, adding millions of users and experiencing a surge in engagement from existing customers. The economic reopening has reversed that trend, and Pinterest lost some of that momentum it gained in the beginning stages of the outbreak. As a result, the stock got hammered and is down 78% off its high.

PINS Price to Free Cash Flow data by YCharts

That's created an opportunity for long-term investors to buy the stock at its lowest valuations. Pinterest is trading at a price-to-free cash flow ratio of 17.55 and a price-to-earnings ratio of 42. Those are bargain valuations for a business with the growth prospects of Pinterest.

The company boasts 433 million monthly active users, up by 2 million from the previous quarter. The platform is free to join, and it makes money only by showing advertisements to users browsing the platform. And judging by Pinterest's revenue growth of 60%, 51%, 48%, and 52% in the previous four years, marketers must be getting a good return on their spending because they keep coming back for more.

Moreover, Pinterest has plenty of room to keep growing. It earned $2.6 billion in revenue in 2021. To put that figure into context, advertisers spent $763 billion globally in the same year. So despite its rapid growth, Pinterest is still capturing a small piece of the pie. Of course, Pinterest faces headwinds in the near term with economies reopening and supply chain shortages dampening advertiser demand. However, a cheap valuation, proven growth, and a massive total addressable market make Pinterest stock an excellent buy.

This streaming player can post explosive returns

Keith Noonan: Between high levels of inflation, looming interest rate hikes, and a litany of other potential bearish catalysts, there are a ton of risk factors for investors to consider right now. When these kinds of dynamics are at play, it's not unusual to see investors "re-rate" entire industries and even the market at large. Making matters worse for Roku, the streaming hardware and digital advertising company is facing difficult growth comparisons as it laps periods of highly elevated pandemic performance.

While Roku is a category leader in set-top box and smart-television streaming hardware, it's the opportunities that these strong hardware positions have created in digital advertising that are even more central to the company's long-term earnings growth potential. The fact that it's not currently posting profits might be a sticking point for investors in the current market climate, but this business looks primed to serve up stellar performance over the long term. The streaming leader closed out the period with 61.3 million active accounts, up 14% year over year, and average revenue per user (ARPU) soared 34% year over year to reach $42.91.

With a market capitalization of roughly $11.5 billion and the company valued at approximately 3.1 times this year's expected sales, Roku trades down 80% from its high and hardly looks unreasonably valued even if it isn't currently posting profits. The streaming innovator has pursued a land-and-expand approach to growth, and the approach of building a large user base and then working to improve monetization will likely prove very rewarding over the long term.

In a recent interview, Evercore analyst Shweta Khajuria said that the firm sees the potential for Roku to increase its ARPU more than three times from current levels. The streaming company is still adding users at an encouraging rate, and it should be able to score big wins as advertising continues to move away from legacy TV distribution and toward streaming.

","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
3 Growth Stocks Down 75% (or More) to Buy in May
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n3 Growth Stocks Down 75% (or More) to Buy in May\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-05-02 15:08 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Rising interest rates have historically meant tough times for growth stocks. And if your business also relies on brick-and-mortar stores, having the right technology partner to help manage and integrate everything is incredibly important.Shopify has emerged as, by far, the leader in providing merchants with solutions to the challenges of commerce, both in-person and online. Since its founding in 2006, it has steadily added more and more tools, including payments, marketing, integration with other e-commerce channels, shipping, and fulfillment.Image source: Shopify. Only Amazon took more share -- from 39% to 41% -- and none of the top 10 increased their share by as large a percent.Yet Mr. This social media stock has a massive market opportunityParkev Tatevosian: My top beaten-down growth stock to buy now is Pinterest. The image-based social media site thrived at the pandemic's onset, adding millions of users and experiencing a surge in engagement from existing customers. The economic reopening has reversed that trend, and Pinterest lost some of that momentum it gained in the beginning stages of the outbreak. As a result, the stock got hammered and is down 78% off its high.PINS Price to Free Cash Flow data by YChartsThat's created an opportunity for long-term investors to buy the stock at its lowest valuations. This streaming player can post explosive returnsKeith Noonan: Between high levels of inflation, looming interest rate hikes, and a litany of other potential bearish catalysts, there are a ton of risk factors for investors to consider right now. When these kinds of dynamics are at play, it's not unusual to see investors \"re-rate\" entire industries and even the market at large. The streaming leader closed out the period with 61.3 million active accounts, up 14% year over year, and average revenue per user (ARPU) soared 34% year over year to reach $42.91.With a market capitalization of roughly $11.5 billion and the company valued at approximately 3.1 times this year's expected sales, Roku trades down 80% from its high and hardly looks unreasonably valued even if it isn't currently posting profits. The streaming innovator has pursued a land-and-expand approach to growth, and the approach of building a large user base and then working to improve monetization will likely prove very rewarding over the long term.In a recent interview, Evercore analyst Shweta Khajuria said that the firm sees the potential for Roku to increase its ARPU more than three times from current levels. The streaming company is still adding users at an encouraging rate, and it should be able to score big wins as advertising continues to move away from legacy TV distribution and toward streaming.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":10,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9082309995,"gmtCreate":1650516379787,"gmtModify":1676534743222,"author":{"id":"3577053278000529","authorId":"3577053278000529","name":"alien75","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3577053278000529","idStr":"3577053278000529"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like","listText":"Like","text":"Like","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9082309995","repostId":"2229997411","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2229997411","pubTimestamp":1650510488,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2229997411?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-04-21 11:08","market":"other","language":"en","title":"BHP's Quarterly Australian Iron Ore Shipments Slipped 8%","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2229997411","media":"seekingalpha","summary":"Miner BHP reported FQ3 iron ore shipments fell 8% Q/Q, as production was slowed by labor shortages a","content":"

Miner BHP reported FQ3 iron ore shipments fell 8% Q/Q, as production was slowed by labor shortages and COVID-related absenteeism, which it says will remain a risk for the rest of the year.

In its quarterly operations review, BHP (BHP) said iron ore sales from its Western Australia operations totaled 67.1M metric tons, meeting the analyst consensus forecast of 67.2M tons, while iron ore production of 59.7M tons was up 1% Y/Y but down 10% Q/Q.

The company kept its full-year iron ore output target unchanged at 249M-259M tons but cut guidance for copper and nickel production.

After producing 369.7K tons of copper during Q3, down 6% Y/Y but up 1% Q/Q, BHP (BHP) now expects to produce 1.57M-1.62M metric tons of copper in the year through June, down from an earlier estimate of 1.59M-1.76M tons, reflecting lower production guidance for the Escondida mine, the world's largest copper mine, which is grappling with labor availability due to COVID-19 infections and public road blockades.

Again citing labor challenges, BHP (BHP) also cut full-year production guidance for its nickel business, to 80K-85K tons from a previous forecast of 85K-95K tons, after Q3 output fell 8% Y/Y and 13% Q/Q to 18.7K tons.

BHP (BHP) maintained its full-year estimate for metallurgical coal production unchanged at 38M-41M tons, after Q3 output increased 10% Y/Y and 20% Q/Q to 10.6M tons, citing less rainfall than in Q2 and improved truck productivity.

Australian mining peer Rio Tinto also reported lower quarterly iron ore production.

","source":"seekingalpha","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html;
