stock market has been one of the greatest wealth creators in this country. Stocks might have taken a back seat to housing, oil, gold, or other assets for brief periods of time over the past century, but they've delivered the highest consistent returns of any investment vehicle.

That is until cryptocurrencies came along a little over a decade ago.

The emergence of Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC), Ethereum (CRYPTO:ETH), Dogecoin (CRYPTO:DOGE), and a host of other digital currencies have paved the way for once-in-a-lifetime gains. For instance, a $155 investment in Bitcoin at $1 would have been worth over $1 million when it hit $64,800 a token in mid-April.

But over the past two weeks, cryptocurrencies have fallen off a cliff. Some would call this a natural pullback after a monstrous run higher. I have a different name for it: a popping bubble.

While there is no shortage of enthusiasts who believe digital currencies are the greatest thing since sliced bread, I believe the crypto market is imploding for 10 very good reasons.

1. There's very minimal real-world utility

One of the biggest drawbacks of digital currency is that it's virtually useless outside a cryptocurrency exchange. Although we've seen a small number of high-profile companies or organizations accept Bitcoin or Dogecoin, the reality is that the total number of businesses accepting either is microscopic. Approximately 1,300 businesses globally have chosen to accept Dogecoin after eight years, while Fundera found that 15,174 businesses accept Bitcoin, as of December 2020. For some context here, there are an estimated 582 million entrepreneurs worldwide.

2. Valuations, relative to transaction data, made no sense

Even though valuation is somewhat subjective, one glance at transaction data for the three most popular cryptocurrencies, relative to payment processing juggernauts such as Visa (NYSE:V) and Mastercard (NYSE:MA), would leave anyone's jaw on the floor.

The latest Nilson report found that 1.01 billion credit transactions were processed daily in 2018, 700 million of which were handled by Visa and Mastercard. By comparison, Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Dogecoin are processing in the neighborhood of 300,000, 1.4 million, and 50,000 respective transactions on their blockchains each day. All the major cryptos combined can't hold a candle to the processing potential of Visa or Mastercard, yet the Big Three of crypto have a higher combined market value than Visa and Mastercard. That makes no sense.

3. Businesses have been slow to adopt blockchain

On paper, blockchain sounds great. On the financial side of the equation, it's a way to expedite the validation and settlement of payments. Rather than waiting up to a week for cross-border payments to settle, they could be resolved in mere seconds or minutes. Blockchain also has nonfinancial applications. Ethereum's smart contract-driven blockchain might be the key to one day unlocking supply chain bottlenecks.

However, what sounds great on paper doesn't always translate into real-world success. Blockchain continues to suffer from a Catch-22. Businesses won't adopt it till the technology is proven on a broad scale, but no businesses will abandon their existing (and proven) infrastructure to effectively be the guinea pig. Until blockchain matures, big business will keep its distance.

4. There's virtually no barrier to entry

Aside from minimal utility, my biggest personal gripe with crypto is there's no barrier to entry. Anyone with the time to code can develop a blockchain and, potentially, a tethered token. According to CoinMarketCap, there are almost 10,000 different cryptocurrencies in its system. While many aren't trading much, if at all, that's an insane number of potential competitors to Bitcoin, Dogecoin, and Ethereum, with the likelihood of many more to come.

In short, the crypto space is constantly being diluted by an unlimited amount of competition.

5. Centralization remains a problem

One of the many goals of cryptocurrencies is decentralization. This is to ensure that no one person or small group of people controls a network. Yet according to data from BitInfoCharts.com, ownership in Bitcoin and Dogecoin is fairly centralized. Just 2,155 addresses own almost 42% of all Bitcoin, while 66.6% of all outstanding Dogecoin is owned by only 99 addresses. It's possible folks are waking up to the fact that these financial experiments aren't as decentralized as they were intended to be.

6. Elon Musk is tugging at heartstrings

Another reason the crypto bubble is bursting is that it's been artificially driven by tweets from Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

At first, Musk was all aboard the Bitcoin train. He purchased $1.5 billion Bitcoin for Tesla's balance sheet in February and announced that the company would begin accepting Bitcoin for electric vehicle purchases a month later. Then, after 49 days, he tweeted that Tesla would no longer accept Bitcoin because of the adverse environmental impacts of mining it. He's since turned his attention to Dogecoin.

The fact that tweets with little or no substance are creating and erasing hundreds of billions of dollars in crypto market value would seem to indicate that a bubble has been brewing for some time.

7. Not all governments are OK with crypto

The crypto bubble is also popping because some governments aren't OK with allowing cryptocurrencies to undermine their own central bank-backed currencies. Last week, China sent the crypto market into a tailspin after prohibiting banks and online payment channels in the country from offering any services related to the cryptocurrency industry. It should be noted that a lot of Bitcoin mining occurs in China.

And China's far from alone. Turkey recently enacted a ban on crypto payments. Meanwhile, countries including Bolivia, Ecuador, Nigeria, and Algeria have effectively banned digital currencies. This trend makes the global use case for crypto unlikely.

8. There are no identifiable real-world correlations

Yet another issue with crypto is there are no readily identifiable real-world correlations.

For example, we know that gold and the U.S. dollar have an inverse relationship to one another. When the dollar is declining in value, gold is very likely rising in value. This is a correlation that's been established over a long period of time.

Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Dogecoin don't have these correlations. Enthusiasts like to point out how crypto is a hedge against inflation, but they forget that Bitcoin has both risen and fallen when the money supply expanded rapidly or slowly. Crypto is driven by emotion and technical analysis, primarily because it has no real-world correlations.

9. Leverage is haunting the crypto market

The cryptocurrency implosion can also be blamed on investors who are over-levered. Some of the most popular crypto exchanges will allow customers to use 50 to 125 times leverage on their actual account equity. While this isn't an uncommon amount of leverage in forex, where currencies move in fractions of a cent, it's absolutely ludicrous for crypto, which can move 3% in the blink of an eye.

According to data from Bybt.com, via Bloomberg, over 887,000 accounts totaling $9.4 billion in aggregate crypto assets were liquidated as a result of leverage-based margin calls on May 19. Because of this insane leverage, it doesn't take much for things to go south quickly for the crypto market.

10. Investors always overhype new tech

Finally, investors frequently overestimate the adoption of new technology. Though there is no shortage of people hyped up about blockchain, it's been more than a half-decade and the blockchain buzz hasn't materialized into meaningful enterprise usage. It takes all next-big-thing technology time to mature, and crypto will be no different.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
10 Reasons the Cryptocurrency Bubble Is Bursting
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n10 Reasons the Cryptocurrency Bubble Is Bursting\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-05-25 11:57 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
This might be more than just a \"healthy pullback.\"For more than 100 years, the stock market has been one of the greatest wealth creators in this country. I have a different name for it: a popping bubble. While there is no shortage of enthusiasts who believe digital currencies are the greatest thing since sliced bread, I believe the crypto market is imploding for 10 very good reasons.Image source: Getty Images.1. There's very minimal real-world utilityOne of the biggest drawbacks of digital currency is that it's virtually useless outside a cryptocurrency exchange. For some context here, there are an estimated 582 million entrepreneurs worldwide.2. Valuations, relative to transaction data, made no senseEven though valuation is somewhat subjective, one glance at transaction data for the three most popular cryptocurrencies, relative to payment processing juggernauts such as Visa (NYSE:V) and Mastercard (NYSE:MA), would leave anyone's jaw on the floor. That makes no sense.Image source: Getty Images.3. Businesses have been slow to adopt blockchainOn paper, blockchain sounds great. Until blockchain matures, big business will keep its distance.4. There's virtually no barrier to entryAside from minimal utility, my biggest personal gripe with crypto is there's no barrier to entry. Anyone with the time to code can develop a blockchain and, potentially, a tethered token. According to CoinMarketCap, there are almost 10,000 different cryptocurrencies in its system. While many aren't trading much, if at all, that's an insane number of potential competitors to Bitcoin, Dogecoin, and Ethereum, with the likelihood of many more to come.In short, the crypto space is constantly being diluted by an unlimited amount of competition.Image source: Getty Images.5. Centralization remains a problemOne of the many goals of cryptocurrencies is decentralization. It's possible folks are waking up to the fact that these financial experiments aren't as decentralized as they were intended to be.6. Elon Musk is tugging at heartstringsAnother reason the crypto bubble is bursting is that it's been artificially driven by tweets from Tesla CEO Elon Musk.At first, Musk was all aboard the Bitcoin train. The fact that tweets with little or no substance are creating and erasing hundreds of billions of dollars in crypto market value would seem to indicate that a bubble has been brewing for some time.Image source: Getty Images.7. Not all governments are OK with cryptoThe crypto bubble is also popping because some governments aren't OK with allowing cryptocurrencies to undermine their own central bank-backed currencies. This trend makes the global use case for crypto unlikely.8. There are no identifiable real-world correlationsYet another issue with crypto is there are no readily identifiable real-world correlations. For example, we know that gold and the U.S. dollar have an inverse relationship to one another. When the dollar is declining in value, gold is very likely rising in value. This is a correlation that's been established over a long period of time.Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Dogecoin don't have these correlations. Enthusiasts like to point out how crypto is a hedge against inflation, but they forget that Bitcoin has both risen and fallen when the money supply expanded rapidly or slowly. Crypto is driven by emotion and technical analysis, primarily because it has no real-world correlations.Image source: Getty Images.9. Leverage is haunting the crypto marketThe cryptocurrency implosion can also be blamed on investors who are over-levered. Some of the most popular crypto exchanges will allow customers to use 50 to 125 times leverage on their actual account equity. While this isn't an uncommon amount of leverage in forex, where currencies move in fractions of a cent, it's absolutely ludicrous for crypto, which can move 3% in the blink of an eye.According to data from Bybt.com, via Bloomberg, over 887,000 accounts totaling $9.4 billion in aggregate crypto assets were liquidated as a result of leverage-based margin calls on May 19. Because of this insane leverage, it doesn't take much for things to go south quickly for the crypto market.10. Investors always overhype new techFinally, investors frequently overestimate the adoption of new technology. Though there is no shortage of people hyped up about blockchain, it's been more than a half-decade and the blockchain buzz hasn't materialized into meaningful enterprise usage. It takes all next-big-thing technology time to mature, and crypto will be no different.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":446,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":104121731,"gmtCreate":1620365687723,"gmtModify":1704342639709,"author":{"id":"3577214154165799","authorId":"3577214154165799","name":"Erat","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/15f49099eac161060ea690bf80ddf281","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3577214154165799","authorIdStr":"3577214154165799"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Only a fool would listen to a fool","listText":"Only a fool would listen to a fool","text":"Only a fool would listen to a fool","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/104121731","repostId":"2133520488","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2133520488","pubTimestamp":1620357500,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2133520488?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-05-07 11:18","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Forget Dogecoin: These Stocks Are Infinitely Smarter Buys","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2133520488","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"With the Dogecoin bull thesis easily debunked, this trio of high-growth companies is a better way to put your money to work.","content":"
For more than a century, the stock market has been the undisputed greatest wealth creator on the planet. For instance, the benchmark S&P 500 has delivered an average annual total return, including dividends, of greater than 10% since the beginning of 1980. Keep in mind this includes the dot-com bubble, the Great Recession, and the coronavirus crash.
\n
But in recent years, it's been cryptocurrencies that've run circles around equities. Young investors, in particular, have been drawn to the decentralized and unregulated nature of digital currencies, as well as the neck-breaking volatility that often comes with owning crypto.
\n
Dogecoin is flying, but you're foolish if you're buying
\n
For much of the past week, it's cryptocurrency Dogecoin (CRYPTO:DOGE) that's been garnering the attention of momentum players, retail investors, and digital currency enthusiasts. As of late afternoon Friday, April 16, Dogecoin could be purchased for about $0.31 per token. For context, it began the week at $0.07, and is higher by more than 15,400% over the trailing year. That would top the gain of every single publicly traded stock over the past year.
\n
If you're wondering why Dogecoin has been on fire, it looks to be a combination of tweets/pumping from Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla Motors, and technical moves, which take into account volume and chart patterns.
\n
However, the story behind Dogecoin and its real-world utility are major red flags that true investors should be aware of. For instance, two engineers created Dogecoin in 2013 in a matter of hours as a joke. The idea was to combine the two buzziest things on the internet at the time -- a Shiba Inu dog meme and the cryptocurrency craze -- into a single entity. Thus was born Dogecoin.
\n
Dogecoin lacks substantive differentiation, relative to other digital currencies, and it has extremely limited utility. According to International Business Times via Dogecoins.com, 48 businesses accept Dogecoin. Meanwhile, online company directory Cryptwerk listed in the neighborhood of 1,200 place, stores, and services accepting Dogecoin, as of April 16.
\n
But here's a number to keep in mind: There are more than 32 million businesses in the U.S. alone. Further, according to The Hill, there are an estimated 582 million entrepreneurs worldwide. About 1,200 of these businesses, at most, accept Dogecoin. That's how minimal the utility is.
\n
This trio of stocks make for much smarter investments than Dogecoin
\n
Rather than throwing your hard-earned money at a pump-and-dump asset like Dogecoin, consider putting your money to work in the following three much smarter buys.
\n
Salesforce.com
\n
A considerably smarter way of putting your money to work right now would be to buy shares of cloud-based customer relationship management (CRM) software provider salesforce.com (NYSE:CRM). Despite its megacap size ($214 billion market cap), it offers sustainable sales growth of 20% or higher for the next half-decade, if not longer.
\n
For those unfamiliar, CRM software is used by consumer-facing businesses to handle tasks like logging customer information and overseeing service or product issues. It's also handy when managing online marketing campaigns and as a predictive tool for suggesting new products and services to existing clients based on their buying history or other metrics. CRM software makes a lot of sense for the retail and service industries, but is finding plenty of momentum in nontraditional places, such as banks and hospitals.
\n
What makes salesforce such a beast is the company's utter dominance of global CRM revenue. In the first half of 2020, IDC estimated that salesforce controlled just shy of 20% of global CRM revenue. That was more than No.'s 2 through 5 on its global share list, combined. This makes salesforce the logical go-to for big businesses looking to incorporate CRM software.
\n
Salesforce is also in the process of acquiring enterprise-focused communications platform Slack Technologies in a cash-and-stock deal that was valued at $27.7 billion when it was announced. If this deal closes, salesforce will be able to use Slack's platform as a jumping-off point to cross-sell to smaller businesses. This'll be its key to reaching $50 billion in annual sales in five years.
\n
Jushi Holdings
\n
Marijuana stocks are arguably one of the most overcrowded trades at the moment -- and for good reason. According to New Frontier Data, weed sales in the U.S. are expected to grow by 21% annually between 2019 and 2025, ultimately hitting $41.5 billion by mid-decade. One of the smartest ways to take advantage of this growth is with small-cap multistate operator (MSO) Jushi Holdings (OTC:JUSHF).
\n
Jushi's growth strategy is a bit different from most MSOs. Instead of trying to plant its proverbial flag in as many states as possible, Jushi is focusing most of its effort in three states: Pennsylvania, Illinois, and Virginia. The common theme is that all three states limit how they assign retail licenses. Pennsylvania and Illinois cap the number of allowable retail stores, while Virginia assigns dispensary licenses by jurisdiction. Put another way, 80% or more of Jushi's revenue will come from markets where competition will be limited or nonexistent. It's a smart strategy that'll allow Jushi to effectively build up its brand and gain a following.
\n
Despite its small size, Jushi has not been afraid to go shopping. It's acquired assets in Pennsylvania and Virginia to expand its presence in these core states, and has used acquisitions to gain a footprint in the California and Nevada markets. California is the largest cannabis market in the world by annual sales, while Nevada is expected to lead the nation in cannabis spending per capita by 2024.
\n
As one final note, roughly $45 million of the first $250 million in capital raised by the company came from insiders and executives. When the interests (and wallets) of execs line up with their shareholders, good things tend to happen.
\n
Pinterest
\n
A third stock that's a considerably smarter buy than Dogecoin is social media up-and-comer Pinterest (NYSE:PINS).
\n
To state the obvious, Pinterest had a great 2020. With the pandemic keeping people in their homes, many turned to social sites for engagement. This included Pinterest, which picked up a net of 124 million monthly active users (MAU) last year. But understand that Pinterest was wooing new MAUs long before the pandemic struck. In the three years preceding the pandemic, net MAU growth averaged 30%, compared to the 37% MAU growth recorded in 2020.
\n
What's notable about the users Pinterest is attracting is that they're predominantly from international markets. More than 90% of the 124 million net MAUs gained in 2020 were from outside the United States. On one hand, average revenue per user (ARPU) is considerably lower outside the U.S., meaning Pinterest isn't generating a lot of revenue from the new users it's picking up. However, it also gives the company ample opportunity to grow its international ARPU significantly this decade. As more international users sign up, ad dollars will climb to reach these users.
\n
Best of all, we're witnessing the early stages of what could be an absolute e-commerce giant. Think about it this way: Pinterest's user base is willingly sharing the things, places, and services that interest them. This makes Pinterest one of the most-targeted platforms on the planet for merchants that can meet these interests. As long as Pinterest can keep its user base engaged, it should have no problem generating huge returns over the long run for investors.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Forget Dogecoin: These 3 Stocks Are Much Smarter Buys
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nForget Dogecoin: These 3 Stocks Are Much Smarter Buys\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-04-19 18:15 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Over the long run, the stock market has proved, time and again, it's the greatest wealth creator on the planet. That would top the gain of every single publicly traded stock over the past year.\nIf you're wondering why Dogecoin has been on fire, it looks to be a combination of tweets/pumping from Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla Motors, and technical moves, which take into account volume and chart patterns.\nHowever, the story behind Dogecoin and its real-world utility are major red flags that true investors should be aware of. For instance, two engineers created Dogecoin in 2013 in a matter of hours as a joke. The idea was to combine the two buzziest things on the internet at the time -- a Shiba Inu dog meme and the cryptocurrency craze -- into a single entity. Thus was born Dogecoin.\nDogecoin lacks substantive differentiation, relative to other digital currencies, and it has extremely limited utility. According to International Business Times via Dogecoins.com, 48 businesses accept Dogecoin. Meanwhile, online company directory Cryptwerk listed in the neighborhood of 1,200 place, stores, and services accepting Dogecoin, as of April 16.\nBut here's a number to keep in mind: There are more than 32 million businesses in the U.S. alone. Further, according to The Hill, there are an estimated 582 million entrepreneurs worldwide. About 1,200 of these businesses, at most, accept Dogecoin. That's how minimal the utility is.\nThis trio of stocks make for much smarter investments than Dogecoin\nRather than throwing your hard-earned money at a pump-and-dump asset like Dogecoin, consider putting your money to work in the following three much smarter buys.\nSalesforce.com\nA considerably smarter way of putting your money to work right now would be to buy shares of cloud-based customer relationship management (CRM) software provider salesforce.com (NYSE:CRM). Despite its megacap size ($214 billion market cap), it offers sustainable sales growth of 20% or higher for the next half-decade, if not longer.\nFor those unfamiliar, CRM software is used by consumer-facing businesses to handle tasks like logging customer information and overseeing service or product issues. It's also handy when managing online marketing campaigns and as a predictive tool for suggesting new products and services to existing clients based on their buying history or other metrics. CRM software makes a lot of sense for the retail and service industries, but is finding plenty of momentum in nontraditional places, such as banks and hospitals.\nWhat makes salesforce such a beast is the company's utter dominance of global CRM revenue. In the first half of 2020, IDC estimated that salesforce controlled just shy of 20% of global CRM revenue. That was more than No.'s 2 through 5 on its global share list, combined. This makes salesforce the logical go-to for big businesses looking to incorporate CRM software.\nSalesforce is also in the process of acquiring enterprise-focused communications platform Slack Technologies in a cash-and-stock deal that was valued at $27.7 billion when it was announced. If this deal closes, salesforce will be able to use Slack's platform as a jumping-off point to cross-sell to smaller businesses. This'll be its key to reaching $50 billion in annual sales in five years.\nJushi Holdings\nMarijuana stocks are arguably one of the most overcrowded trades at the moment -- and for good reason. According to New Frontier Data, weed sales in the U.S. are expected to grow by 21% annually between 2019 and 2025, ultimately hitting $41.5 billion by mid-decade. One of the smartest ways to take advantage of this growth is with small-cap multistate operator (MSO) Jushi Holdings (OTC:JUSHF).\nJushi's growth strategy is a bit different from most MSOs. It's a smart strategy that'll allow Jushi to effectively build up its brand and gain a following.\nDespite its small size, Jushi has not been afraid to go shopping. It's acquired assets in Pennsylvania and Virginia to expand its presence in these core states, and has used acquisitions to gain a footprint in the California and Nevada markets. California is the largest cannabis market in the world by annual sales, while Nevada is expected to lead the nation in cannabis spending per capita by 2024.\nAs one final note, roughly $45 million of the first $250 million in capital raised by the company came from insiders and executives. When the interests (and wallets) of execs line up with their shareholders, good things tend to happen.\nPinterest\nA third stock that's a considerably smarter buy than Dogecoin is social media up-and-comer Pinterest (NYSE:PINS).\nTo state the obvious, Pinterest had a great 2020. With the pandemic keeping people in their homes, many turned to social sites for engagement. This included Pinterest, which picked up a net of 124 million monthly active users (MAU) last year. But understand that Pinterest was wooing new MAUs long before the pandemic struck. In the three years preceding the pandemic, net MAU growth averaged 30%, compared to the 37% MAU growth recorded in 2020.\nWhat's notable about the users Pinterest is attracting is that they're predominantly from international markets. As more international users sign up, ad dollars will climb to reach these users.\nBest of all, we're witnessing the early stages of what could be an absolute e-commerce giant. Think about it this way: Pinterest's user base is willingly sharing the things, places, and services that interest them. This makes Pinterest one of the most-targeted platforms on the planet for merchants that can meet these interests. As long as Pinterest can keep its user base engaged, it should have no problem generating huge returns over the long run for investors.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":738,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":379872168,"gmtCreate":1618721110454,"gmtModify":1704714328797,"author":{"id":"3577214154165799","authorId":"3577214154165799","name":"Erat","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/15f49099eac161060ea690bf80ddf281","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3577214154165799","authorIdStr":"3577214154165799"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$to the moon?","listText":"$Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$to the moon?","text":"$Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$to the moon?","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/046d6b9afaec6493df445cc771108bdb","width":"1170","height":"2026"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/379872168","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":812,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":359415753,"gmtCreate":1616420039672,"gmtModify":1704793827586,"author":{"id":"3577214154165799","authorId":"3577214154165799","name":"Erat","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/15f49099eac161060ea690bf80ddf281","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3577214154165799","authorIdStr":"3577214154165799"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$WiMi Hologram Cloud(WIMI)$I have faith in you","listText":"$WiMi Hologram Cloud(WIMI)$I have faith in you","text":"$WiMi Hologram Cloud(WIMI)$I have faith in you","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e98f4ccd5aaf05791cfdd9ec75a5eba8","width":"1170","height":"2026"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/359415753","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":385,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":359325928,"gmtCreate":1616365854964,"gmtModify":1704793050075,"author":{"id":"3577214154165799","authorId":"3577214154165799","name":"Erat","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/15f49099eac161060ea690bf80ddf281","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3577214154165799","authorIdStr":"3577214154165799"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"It’s sales time ","listText":"It’s sales time ","text":"It’s sales time","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/359325928","repostId":"1103756496","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1103756496","pubTimestamp":1616163949,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1103756496?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-03-19 22:25","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Apple Stock Is Going Down, One Analyst Says. At least one analyst has compiled a laundry list of items that makes him fear for a 35% drop in the stock price from current levels.
\n
Apple might be too hyped
\n
Goldman Sach’s Rod Hall is one of those very rare Apple analysts that maintain a sell rating on the stock. While I have not come across research from him that is more recent thanlate January, most of his bearish points still seem relevant today.
\n
For starters, Goldman does not seem impressed with the near-term smartphone opportunity. According to the research shop, the iPhone 12 resembles a “redesign cycle” rather thana more meaningful “5G super cycle”. As a result, iPhone replacement rates should be low in 2021.
\n
Still on the same subject, Goldman projects ASP (average selling price) to come down this year, as buyers shift to cheaper models like the iPhone 12 mini and the iPhone 11. Here, recent data points have been suggesting the opposite: the mini seems to be the biggest loser within the product portfolio, while the Pro and Pro Max have been performing above expectations.
\n
Also, Mr. Hall does not seethe Apple Car opportunityas a profitable initiative.Accordingto him:
\n
\n “The auto industry has generally lower gross margins than Apple's own current businesses. Tesla's gross margins are about 20%, compared to Apple's 40%. Operating margins are even lower, typically in the high single digits. Even in optimistic scenarios, the release of a production Apple Car is likely to have only a minor impact on Apple's bottom line.”\n
\n
Lastly, the analyst believes that the end of the COVID-19 crisis will trigger a discretionary spending shift from tech devices (iPhones, Macs) to away-from-home services (travel and leisure). This could be a negative catalyst for the stock in 2021.
\n
The Apple Maven’s take
\n
In my opinion, the market is not the place to cheer for or against a stock. This is what sports arenas are for (after the pandemic is over, of course). So, I think that even the most confident of Apple investors should pay attention to the bearish case on the stock, and think through the arguments critically.
\n
I think Goldman raises good points about the hype around the 5G super cycle and the Apple Car. Whether either can push Apple’s financial results significantly above current consensus remains to be seen. Meanwhile, the stockseems to have already priced some of the upside.
\n
I also understand the risk in discretionary spending migrating away from tech hardware, software and services. These groups of market enthusiasts can certainly pick excellent stocks, as evidenced by the list of the 100 most popular stocks on the platform. For instance, GameStop (NYSE:GME) and AMC Entertainment (NYSE:AMC) are among the top 20 most commonly held stocks on the app as of this writing.

Both of these businesses are struggling, in part due to their reliance on brick-and-mortar operations, which were severely impacted by the pandemic. Fool","summary":"With the Dogecoin bull thesis easily debunked, this trio of high-growth companies is a better way to put your money to work.","content":"
For more than a century, the stock market has been the undisputed greatest wealth creator on the planet. Even though certain assets or commodities, such as gold and housing, have had short periods when they've outperformed equities, stocks have delivered the greatest and most consistent long-term returns.

Then cryptocurrencies came along about a decade ago and completely turned this thesis on its head. Bitcoin, the largest digital currency in the world by market cap, could once be purchased for less than $1 per token. This past weekend, each Bitcoin would set you back around $58,000. That's an insane return in just over a decade.

Unfortunately, this mountain of momentum that's built up in the crypto space has also given rise to some truly awful digital currencies. Dogecoin (CRYPTO:DOGE) is the perfect example.

The Dogecoin bull thesis can be easily debunked

Peruse any of the popular social media boards (Reddit or Twitter), and you'll get no shortage of reasons why Dogecoin is the greatest possible crypto to buy now. Enthusiasts often cite its lower transaction fees relative to Bitcoin and Ethereum (the No. 1 and 2 in terms of crypto market cap), improving adoption by retailers, and its community as reasons for its current and future success. Unfortunately, every \"catalyst\" for Dogecoin can be very easily debunked.

For example, Dogecoin does indeed have lower transaction fees than Bitcoin and Ethereum, but they're far from the lowest. While we're on the subject of cherry-picking comparison data, Nano, Ripple, Stellar, Dash, and Litecoin are just some of the cryptos that offer lower transaction fees. Nano, Ripple, Stellar, and Dash also validate and settle transactions faster than Dogecoin. In an arena where the barrier to entry is virtually nonexistent, Dogecoin offers no true competitive advantage on fees or transaction speed.

As for adoption, online business directory Cryptwerk suggests that around 1,300 companies accept Dogecoin. Nearly all of these businesses are obscure, and Dogecoin has had eight years to develop a following. Managing to be accepted by 1,300 businesses when well over 500 million companies exist worldwide isn't exactly game-changing utility.

Lastly, the community aspect looks to be built on hype. Without anything tangible to drive Dogecoin's valuation, most \"hodlers\" are waiting on the edge of their seats hoping Tesla's CEO Elon Musk will mention Dogecoin in a tweet or say its name on an upcoming episode of Saturday Night Live, which he's hosting on May 8. These aren't tangible catalysts. They're the signs of a pump-and-dump asset.

This trio of stocks would be a much smarter way to put your money to work

Instead of potentially throwing your money away on a digital currency that was created as a joke in 2013, consider putting it to work in the following trio of infinitely smarter stocks.Image source: Getty Images.

Sea Limited

If growth, growth, and more growth is your thing, you're going to love Singapore-based Sea Limited (NYSE:SE). Sea is a bit of a conglomerate in that it has three exceptionally fast-growing operating segments.

For the time being, the greatest driver of adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) is the company's digital entertainment division. This segment, which focuses on mobile gaming, had more than 610 million active users in the fourth quarter, 73.1 million of whom were paying customers. With people stuck in their homes in 2020 due to the pandemic, gaming was a form of release and entertainment. As a result, the company's paying customers grew by 120%.

Arguably the more important operating segment is e-commerce. Sea's online Shopee platform has consistently been the most popular e-commerce download in Southeast Asia. The combination of people staying home and desiring the convenience of ordering goods online has sent Shopee's growth trajectory into the stratosphere. That's an insane return in just over a decade.Unfortunately, this mountain of momentum that's built up in the crypto space has also given rise to some truly awful digital currencies. Dogecoin (CRYPTO:DOGE) is the perfect example.Image source: Getty Images. The Dogecoin bull thesis can be easily debunkedPeruse any of the popular social media boards (Reddit or Twitter), and you'll get no shortage of reasons why Dogecoin is the greatest possible crypto to buy now. Managing to be accepted by 1,300 businesses when well over 500 million companies exist worldwide isn't exactly game-changing utility.Lastly, the community aspect looks to be built on hype. This trio of stocks would be a much smarter way to put your money to workInstead of potentially throwing your money away on a digital currency that was created as a joke in 2013, consider putting it to work in the following trio of infinitely smarter stocks.Image source: Getty Images.Sea LimitedIf growth, growth, and more growth is your thing, you're going to love Singapore-based Sea Limited (NYSE:SE). As a result, the company's paying customers grew by 120%.Arguably the more important operating segment is e-commerce. Sea's online Shopee platform has consistently been the most popular e-commerce download in Southeast Asia. The combination of people staying home and desiring the convenience of ordering goods online has sent Shopee's growth trajectory into the stratosphere. The amount of gross merchandise value transacted on its network doubled last year to $35.4 billion, with gross orders rising 133% to 2.8 billion. With Shopee making inroads in South America as well, it has aspirations of becoming Amazon 2.0.Third, Sea offers digital financial services to largely underbanked countries and communities.
For instance, the benchmark S&P 500 has delivered an average annual total return, including dividends, of greater than 10% since the beginning of 1980. Keep in mind this includes the dot-com bubble, the Great Recession, and the coronavirus crash.\nBut in recent years, it's been cryptocurrencies that've run circles around equities. Young investors, in particular, have been drawn to the decentralized and unregulated nature of digital currencies, as well as the neck-breaking volatility that often comes with owning crypto.\nDogecoin is flying, but you're foolish if you're buying\nFor much of the past week, it's cryptocurrency Dogecoin (CRYPTO:DOGE) that's been garnering the attention of momentum players, retail investors, and digital currency enthusiasts. As of late afternoon Friday, April 16, Dogecoin could be purchased for about $0.31 per token. For context, it began the week at $0.07, and is higher by more than 15,400% over the trailing year. As long as Pinterest can keep its user base engaged, it should have no problem generating huge returns over the long run for investors.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":738,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":359041913,"gmtCreate":1616307301832,"gmtModify":1704792807324,"author":{"id":"3577214154165799","authorId":"3577214154165799","name":"Erat","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/15f49099eac161060ea690bf80ddf281","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3577214154165799","authorIdStr":"3577214154165799"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"<a Some of the highlights included the doubling of services and wearables revenues in five years, the 5G super cycle, the greenfield Apple Car opportunity, and an acceleration in share repurchases.
\n
Now, I look at the flip side of the coin. How would one support the most bearish argument on Apple shares?
Just as an example, air travel bookings for the summer seasonhave already started to climb fast. Where will the money to cover these costs come from? A brand-new iPad could be one answer.
\n
Still, the Apple Maven sees more upside to investing in Apple at current levels than downside risk. In addition to the bullish points on the business fundamentals, the valuation floor and dip-buying opportunityincreases the probability that an investment in Apple today will pay off in the long term.
\n
Twitter speaks
\n
The most bullish analysts say that Apple could head to $225 per share, under the rosiest scenario. Some of the highlights included the doubling of services and wearables revenues in five years, the 5G super cycle, the greenfield Apple Car opportunity, and an acceleration in share repurchases.\nNow, I look at the flip side of the coin. How would one support the most bearish argument on Apple shares? At least one analyst has compiled a laundry list of items that makes him fear for a 35% drop in the stock price from current levels.\nApple might be too hyped\nGoldman Sach’s Rod Hall is one of those very rare Apple analysts that maintain a sell rating on the stock. While I have not come across research from him that is more recent thanlate January, most of his bearish points still seem relevant today.\nFor starters, Goldman does not seem impressed with the near-term smartphone opportunity. According to the research shop, the iPhone 12 resembles a “redesign cycle” rather thana more meaningful “5G super cycle”. As a result, iPhone replacement rates should be low in 2021.\nStill on the same subject, Goldman projects ASP (average selling price) to come down this year, as buyers shift to cheaper models like the iPhone 12 mini and the iPhone 11. Here, recent data points have been suggesting the opposite: the mini seems to be the biggest loser within the product portfolio, while the Pro and Pro Max have been performing above expectations.\nAlso, Mr. Hall does not seethe Apple Car opportunityas a profitable initiative.Accordingto him:\n\n “The auto industry has generally lower gross margins than Apple's own current businesses. Tesla's gross margins are about 20%, compared to Apple's 40%. Operating margins are even lower, typically in the high single digits. Even in optimistic scenarios, the release of a production Apple Car is likely to have only a minor impact on Apple's bottom line.”\n\nLastly, the analyst believes that the end of the COVID-19 crisis will trigger a discretionary spending shift from tech devices (iPhones, Macs) to away-from-home services (travel and leisure). This could be a negative catalyst for the stock in 2021.\nThe Apple Maven’s take\nIn my opinion, the market is not the place to cheer for or against a stock. This is what sports arenas are for (after the pandemic is over, of course). So, I think that even the most confident of Apple investors should pay attention to the bearish case on the stock, and think through the arguments critically.\nI think Goldman raises good points about the hype around the 5G super cycle and the Apple Car. Whether either can push Apple’s financial results significantly above current consensus remains to be seen. Meanwhile, the stockseems to have already priced some of the upside.\nI also understand the risk in discretionary spending migrating away from tech hardware, software and services. Just as an example, air travel bookings for the summer seasonhave already started to climb fast. Where will the money to cover these costs come from? A brand-new iPad could be one answer.\nStill, the Apple Maven sees more upside to investing in Apple at current levels than downside risk. In addition to the bullish points on the business fundamentals, the valuation floor and dip-buying opportunityincreases the probability that an investment in Apple today will pay off in the long term.\nTwitter speaks\nThe most bullish analysts say that Apple could head to $225 per share, under the rosiest scenario. The most bearish of them says “not so fast”, and sees 35% downside risk.
