The company issued shares at $17 each, which was at the top of the $15-to-$17 range, and raised $1.4 billion. Morgan (JPM), Credit Suisse (CS), Barclays (BCS), Jefferies, BNP Paribas, BofA Securities (BAC), Piper Sandler, and RBC Capital Markets.On the first day of trading, the shares shot up 19% to $20.20 and the market capitalization came to roughly $12 billion. The company, which was founded in 1990, is a leader in oat milk.Last July, Oatly raised $200 million in funding that was led by the Blackstone Group (BX). The other investors included Natalie Portman, Oprah Winfrey, and Howard Schultz, who is the co-founder of Starbucks (SUBX). The valuation at the time was $2 billion, so the company has seen a major surge in valuation in a relatively short period of time. (See Oatly stock chart on TipRanks)Background on OatlyThe cofounders of Oatly include Rickard Öste, a food scientist, and his brother Bjorn. They were based in Malmö, Sweden, and bootstrapped their business.The brothers saw oat milk as a much better alternative to traditional milk or other milk substitutes. For one, many people believe that it mixes better with coffee than other milk alternatives.  It also has environmental advantages: it uses less water than other alternatives and saves about 80% in greenhouse gas emissions.According to the shareholder letter in the S-1 filing, CEO Toni Petersson noted: “We list all the ingredients that go into our products and where they come from so people know exactly what they are putting into their bodies. We work with dairy farmers in Sweden and the United States to explore the sustainability and economic benefits of a shift to oat crops. We were the first company in Europe to use a fleet of electric trucks for heavy-duty commercial shipping.”In terms of the strategy, the initial focus was on northern Europe. But in 2016, Oatly invested heavily in the U.S. market. Initially, the company focused on baristas, which helped to spark growth. Oatly has also formed partnerships with Starbucks and Target (TGT). Currently, Oatly’s products are sold in more than 20 countries.High Growth and Massive PotentialThe growth ramp has definitely been impressive.  Last year, revenues soared 107% to $421.4 million. And while the company has continued to lose money, with the net losses coming to $60.4 million in 2020, losses have been necessary for the global expansion efforts.The market is also massive. The global dairy alternatives market size was estimated at $20.5 billion in 2020. In 2021, the market is expected to reach $23.2 billion, according to a report by Grand View Research.No doubt, major trends are propelling the adoption of oat milk. After all, more people are looking for healthier offerings and younger generations like Millennials and Gen Z consumers want food that is sensitive to environmental concerns.Bottom Line On OatlyOatly does have some downside. First of all, when it comes to food items, there is always the possibility that they will become a passing fad. There is also the nagging issue of copycats edging in on Oatly's business.Yet perhaps the biggest problem with Oatly stock is its valuation. Even if there is a small deceleration in its growth, this could put considerable pressure on the shares. A month that includes an earnings event (unconfirmed):Gamestop: Call Spreads vs Outright CallsUsing March 19th as an expiry we first looks at bullish spreads, and compare directly to outright calls. With a stock as volatile as Gamestop, calls can be expensive. Because of that, many traders resort to buying far out of the money calls. That demand for upside calls increases volatility in those calls, making them expensive relative to at-the-money calls – a phenomenon known as skew. However, for those that are bullish, this may create an opportunity to utilize spreads rather than buying an outright call. Let's see how.Here we'll focus on one alternative – using debit spreads to lower the overall cost of a directional trade (while potentially improving the probability of profit of the trade itself by lowering the breakeven level). It does so by selling those relatively expensive out-the-money Calls to help finance the purchase of a nearer to at-the-money Call.With Gamestop near $105, the March 19th 110/190 Debit Call Spread is roughly $15 and targets the bullish expected move for March 19th. The debit call spread would need the stock to be above $125 on March 19th to be profitable.As a comparison, the GME March 19th 200 calls are trading $29. That's nearly twice the cost for a 200 call that needs the stock above $229 by March 19th… versus a call spread, that needs the stock above $125. Here's a side by side comparison of those two trades on the Options AI chart. First, the 200 call:And next, the 145/200 debit call spread:As you can see, not only is the call spread less expensive, the point at which is becomes profitable to the upside is much closer to where the stock is currently trading. (As indicated by the grey price of the breakeven.)A note on probability of profit. The probability of profit displayed on these trades is based on the delta being assigned to the breakeven of the trade. The fact that a 200 call in a $105 stock is trading near 50 deltas shows just how distorting an effect Gamestop volatility is having on its options (hard to borrow, skew, retail demand for out-of-the-money calls).Directional Butterflies vs Outright PutsHigh volatility also affects bearish options trades. One of the counter-intuitive aspects of a high volatility stock like Gamestop is that its implied volatility can go up as the stock goes higher and down as the stock goes lower. This is the opposite of how we generally think about volatility. Therefore, buying outright puts carries a risk of collapsing volatility (and therefore collapsing premiums) as the stock goes lower. So, even though the stock is moving in the intended direction, as an option holder you may not be realizing the gains expected.One way to counter high implied volatility in a stock, especially when having a bearish view, is to be a net seller of option premium. To sell to bullish option traders rather than join bearish option traders. Traditionally that might take the form of selling a Credit Call Spread. But in GME's case that means buying the (expensive) upper strike Call at a higher volatility than the Call that is closer to the money (as described above).So, one option strategy that can be considered by traders is using a Butterfly. And while investors seem eager to see the results, they might not want to get their hopes<i>too</i>high up. According to analysts who follow the stock, Airbnb is probably going to report a loss of epic proportions -- as much as $9.16 per share, on sales of just under $748 million.</p>\n<p>Not everyone is in agreement on that.On Monday if you recall, analysts at Loop Capital predicted Airbnb will do better than those low expectations and upgraded the stock to a buy.</p>\n<p><b>Now what</b></p>\n<p>Even if Airbnb fails to \"beat earnings,\" though, there's still the potential for&nbsp;the stock to fly higher. Why?</p>\n<p>Well, consider: New reports of coronavirus infections are way down -- barely 71,000 reported yesterday, and only 56,000 the day before that. While those numbers both sound pretty big, they're mere fractions of the nearly 300,000 cases reported at the peak of the pandemic, Jan. 2.</p>\n<p>The Biden administration, meanwhile, is taking affirmative steps to drive those numbers even lower. On Wednesday, it was reported that the federal government is shipping out 25 million masks to workers in \"community health centers ... food pantries and soup kitchens,\" to help tamp down infections among the people most in need. And with vaccinations at the rate of 1.5 million a day -- accelerating toward 3 million per day by next month -- hopes are emerging that&nbsp;the pandemic and the recessionit caused could soon be put to bed, giving rise to an earlier-than-expected economic recovery.</p>\n<p>The sooner that happens, the faster folks will resume traveling, taking vacations -- and booking rooms with Airbnb again. And while investors seem eager to see the results, they might not want to get their hopestoohigh up. According to analysts who follow the stock, Airbnb is probably going to report a loss of epic proportions -- as much as $9.16 per share, on sales of just under $748 million.\nNot everyone is in agreement on that.On Monday if you recall, analysts at Loop Capital predicted Airbnb will do better than those low expectations and upgraded the stock to a buy.\nNow what\nEven if Airbnb fails to \"beat earnings,\" though, there's still the potential for the stock to fly higher. Why?\nWell, consider: New reports of coronavirus infections are way down -- barely 71,000 reported yesterday, and only 56,000 the day before that. While those numbers both sound pretty big, they're mere fractions of the nearly 300,000 cases reported at the peak of the pandemic, Jan. 2.\nThe Biden administration, meanwhile, is taking affirmative steps to drive those numbers even lower. On Wednesday, it was reported that the federal government is shipping out 25 million masks to workers in \"community health centers ... food pantries and soup kitchens,\" to help tamp down infections among the people most in need.
