4,600","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1107219983","media":"zerohedge","summary":"Mid-cycle?Late-cycle? Nope: according to the latest note published overnight from JPMorgan head glob","content":"<p>Mid-cycle?Late-cycle? Nope: according to the latest note published overnight from JPMorgan head global equity strategist Dubravko Lakos-Bujas, \"even though equity leadership and bonds are trading as if the global economy is entering late cycle,<b>our research suggests the recovery is still in early-cycle</b>and gradually transitioning towards mid-cycle.\" And echoing his JPM colleague and fellow Croat, Marko Kolanovic, who yesterdayadvised clients to stop freaking out about the delta variant(advise which markets are taking to heart today), Dubravko writes that the largest commercial bank remains \"constructive on equities and see the latest round of growth and slowdown fears premature and overblown.\"</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/52b0923c42b8b316b85e56a776fa3337\" tg-width=\"1132\" tg-height=\"1215\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\">Elaborating on why he is sanguine about the current Delta case breakout, Lakos-Bujas writes that \"we remain of the view that this latest wave will not derail the broader reopening process. While cases have gone up, deaths / hospitalizations remain low and stable due to broadening vaccination rollout and self-immunity from prior waves.\"</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d396ca943f750f3a3bcb38e01a53cbdf\" tg-width=\"772\" tg-height=\"546\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\">The strategist then argues that \"reopening of the economy is not an event but rather a process, which in our opinion is still not priced-in, and especially not now given recent market moves. For instance, an increasing number of reopening stocks are now down 30-50% from 1Q21 highs (i.e. travel, cruise lines, oil) and some have reversed back to last year June levels when COVID-19 uncertainty and economic setup were vastly worse than today.\"</p>\n<p>Given the above, JPM sees \"increasingly compelling\" risk/reward for the reopening theme, which can be expressed through Consumer Recovery (JPAMCONR <Index>), Domestic Recovery (JPAMCRDB <Index>) and International Recovery (JPAMCRIB <Index>) baskets, see Fig 1.\" Additionally, JPm argues that global mobility remains nascent and its normalization will continue to release pent-up demand, while tight inventories and new orders bode positively for global growth.</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/dc9c52172685e208ffe19abe53233205\" tg-width=\"958\" tg-height=\"959\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\">Combining all this bullishness,<b>the JPM equity strategist is revising his EPS estimates higher by an additional $5 to $205 for 2021 and raises the bank's long-held 2021 year-end price target of 4,400 to 4,600, due to the following considerations:</b></p>\n<blockquote>\n At a thematic/sector level, the risk/reward for reopening stocks has improved significantly with the recent pullback creating many unusually attractive opportunities for investors to re-enter various parts of the cyclical cohort. Consumer Discretionary (i.e. Retail, Travel & Leisure), Semis, Banks and Energy are strong buys at current levels. For instance,\n <b>large-cap Energy is now trading at a ~10% FCF yield and a >8% FCF/EV yield at $70 Brent in 2022, with leverage that is <1x</b>. The sector has increasing potential for a sharp short squeeze and move higher, given its extreme disconnect from oil fundamentals (i.e. widest in 30+ years, Figure 10). In addition, our Semiconductor research argues that we are only 30-40% of the way into the current semiconductor upcycle and expect strong Y/Y growth into next year with positive EPS revisions for the next 3-4 quarters. Supply will likely remain tight into 2022, while demand remains strong (20-40% above companies’ ability to supply), thus this supply demand imbalance will persist through 2021. Although customers are responding to tight supply with higher than needed orders, ongoing supply tightness is limiting fulfillment. In fact, JPM expects channel and customer inventories to decline Q/Q again in the just completed June quarter.\n</blockquote>\n<p>Looking at the fundamentals, JPM predicts that S&P 500 gains should also be supported by strong earnings growth and capital return until 2023,<b>and is why JPM is adjusting its above consensus S&P 500 EPS by another $5 for 2022 to $230 (consensus $214) and 2023 to $250 (consensus $233).</b></p>\n<blockquote>\n This revision is largely due to global reopening which is delayed and bound to release further pent-up demand, inventory replenishment, rising profitability for Energy companies, and ongoing policy actions (childcare, infrastructure, etc). We expect cumulative revenue growth of ~30% by 2023 relative to pre-COVID (FY 2019), ~150bp net income margin expansion to a record high at over 13%, and gross buybacks nearing an annual pace of ~$1t during this period.\n</blockquote>\n<p>While all sectors are expected to contribute to earnings growth, JPM expects reflation sensitive sectors (Commodities, Financials, Industrials) and Consumer to do the heaviest lifting in the coming quarters in terms of beats and revisions.</p>\n<p>Putting it all together, Lakos-Bujas says that \"<b>considering this outlook for earnings and shareholder return, we are raising our Price Target to 4,600 for year-end 2021.\"</b></p>\n<p>But while any first year strategist can goalseek a fundamentally bullish narrative and chart it, as JPM has done below...</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/41e87174356d968c69893caff66745e0\" tg-width=\"1072\" tg-height=\"1304\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\">... there is a very specific reason behind JPM's bullish reversal:<b>the coming surge in buybacks which will result in a boom in shareholder returns,</b>or as Dubravko notes, \"corporates have already increased gross buybacks from pandemic era low of $525b (trailing twelve months as of 1Q21) to an annualized run rate of ~$775b YTD and should surpass previous record of ~$850b (as of 1Q19).\"</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3b09d295af263e87277eaffbda47bb7c\" tg-width=\"1076\" tg-height=\"435\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\">In practical terms, JPM expects a sharp drop in the S&P's share count in the next 24 months as the buyback-facilitated slow-motion LBO continues.</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ae94ad29f188e3aac5cdf92b9df65fc3\" tg-width=\"1048\" tg-height=\"396\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\">Some more details below on the one biggest catalyst behind JPM's SPX price target hike:</p>\n<blockquote>\n <b>Expecting a boom in shareholder return led by buybacks.</b>Buybacks are reemerging as a key theme with net buyback activity significantly improving this year after bottoming in 2Q20. Corporate buyback announcements, typically a leading indicator of buyback execution activity and corporate confidence, have already well-exceeded 2020 levels ($431B YTD vs. $307B 2020, see Figure 25). In fact,\n <b>the rebound in announcement activity is similar to the surge post-TCJA (see Figure 23) which is tracking towards and it is likely to easily surpass ~$650B by year-end and likely to see rolling 12-month announcements surpass prior record level of ~$1T.</b>Historically, buyback announcements have been concentrated within Technology and Financials. Nope: according to the latest note published overnight from JPMorgan head global equity strategist Dubravko Lakos-Bujas, \"even though equity leadership and bonds are trading as if the global economy is entering late cycle, our research suggests the recovery is still in early-cycleand gradually transitioning towards mid-cycle.\" And echoing his JPM colleague and fellow Croat, Marko Kolanovic, who yesterdayadvised clients to stop freaking out about the delta variant(advise which markets are taking to heart today), Dubravko writes that the largest commercial bank remains \"constructive on equities and see the latest round of growth and slowdown fears premature and overblown.\"\nElaborating on why he is sanguine about the current Delta case breakout, Lakos-Bujas writes that \"we remain of the view that this latest wave will not derail the broader reopening process. While cases have gone up, deaths / hospitalizations remain low and stable due to broadening vaccination rollout and self-immunity from prior waves.\"\nThe strategist then argues that \"reopening of the economy is not an event but rather a process, which in our opinion is still not priced-in, and especially not now given recent market moves. For instance, an increasing number of reopening stocks are now down 30-50% from 1Q21 highs (i.e. travel, cruise lines, oil) and some have reversed back to last year June levels when COVID-19 uncertainty and economic setup were vastly worse than today.\"\nGiven the above, JPM sees \"increasingly compelling\" risk/reward for the reopening theme, which can be expressed through Consumer Recovery (JPAMCONR <Index>), Domestic Recovery (JPAMCRDB <Index>) and International Recovery (JPAMCRIB <Index>) baskets, see Fig 1.\" Additionally, JPm argues that global mobility remains nascent and its normalization will continue to release pent-up demand, while tight inventories and new orders bode positively for global growth.\nCombining all this bullishness, the JPM equity strategist is revising his EPS estimates higher by an additional $5 to $205 for 2021 and raises the bank's long-held 2021 year-end price target of 4,400 to 4,600, due to the following considerations:\n\n At a thematic/sector level, the risk/reward for reopening stocks has improved significantly with the recent pullback creating many unusually attractive opportunities for investors to re-enter various parts of the cyclical cohort. Consumer Discretionary (i.e. Retail, Travel & Leisure), Semis, Banks and Energy are strong buys at current levels. For instance,\n large-cap Energy is now trading at a ~10% FCF yield and a >8% FCF/EV yield at $70 Brent in 2022, with leverage that is <1x. In fact, JPM expects channel and customer inventories to decline Q/Q again in the just completed June quarter.\n\nLooking at the fundamentals, JPM predicts that S&P 500 gains should also be supported by strong earnings growth and capital return until 2023,and is why JPM is adjusting its above consensus S&P 500 EPS by another $5 for 2022 to $230 (consensus $214) and 2023 to $250 (consensus $233).\n\n This revision is largely due to global reopening which is delayed and bound to release further pent-up demand, inventory replenishment, rising profitability for Energy companies, and ongoing policy actions (childcare, infrastructure, etc). We expect cumulative revenue growth of ~30% by 2023 relative to pre-COVID (FY 2019), ~150bp net income margin expansion to a record high at over 13%, and gross buybacks nearing an annual pace of ~$1t during this period.\n\nWhile all sectors are expected to contribute to earnings growth, JPM expects reflation sensitive sectors (Commodities, Financials, Industrials) and Consumer to do the heaviest lifting in the coming quarters in terms of beats and revisions.\nPutting it all together, Lakos-Bujas says that \"considering this outlook for earnings and shareholder return, we are raising our Price Target to 4,600 for year-end 2021.\"\nBut while any first year strategist can goalseek a fundamentally bullish narrative and chart it, as JPM has done below...\n... there is a very specific reason behind JPM's bullish reversal:the coming surge in buybacks which will result in a boom in shareholder returns,or as Dubravko notes, \"corporates have already increased gross buybacks from pandemic era low of $525b (trailing twelve months as of 1Q21) to an annualized run rate of ~$775b YTD and should surpass previous record of ~$850b (as of 1Q19).\"\nIn practical terms, JPM expects a sharp drop in the S&P's share count in the next 24 months as the buyback-facilitated slow-motion LBO continues.\nSome more details below on the one biggest catalyst behind JPM's SPX price target hike:\n\nExpecting a boom in shareholder return led by buybacks.Buybacks are reemerging as a key theme with net buyback activity significantly improving this year after bottoming in 2Q20. Corporate buyback announcements, typically a leading indicator of buyback execution activity and corporate confidence, have already well-exceeded 2020 levels ($431B YTD vs. $307B 2020, see Figure 25). In fact,\n the rebound in announcement activity is similar to the surge post-TCJA (see Figure 23) which is tracking towards and it is likely to easily surpass ~$650B by year-end and likely to see rolling 12-month announcements surpass prior record level of ~$1T.Historically, buyback announcements have been concentrated within Technology and Financials. However, YTD we are seeing strong announcement activity from Communications as well (driven by GOOGL ~$50B in Apr). As a reminder, ~$90B of Tech’s $133B in announcements YTD is supported by AAPL and ~$25B of Financials' ~$92B is supported by BAC.\n\nWith the June 30th lifting of pandemic era restriction on US Banks,we could see some further pick-up in buyback announcements.Dry powder (i.e. announced repurchase programs not yet executed) levels have been recovering to pre-pandemic levels (~$658B, see Figure 27) as executions have been relatively slower to rebound but should show a material sequential growth in the coming quarters. With record profit margins (~13% in 2022 vs ~11.5% in 2019), bloated cash levels of $2.0T ex-financials (vs. $1.6T pre- COVID), and lower high grade debt yields (JULI at 2.6% now, vs 3.3% prepandemic),we are expecting a boom in buyback activity over the next year.Gross buybacks should surpass the prior executed high of $850b.\nIn summary, assuming $875b in buybacks and dividend income of $575 over the next year,JPM calculates thatthe expected shareholder yield is 3.9%.This, as Dubravko concludes, \"is a significant cross-asset valuation support for equities at a time when 10yr US bonds are yielding 1.2% and $13 trillion of global debt has a negative yield.\"","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":638,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":176272923,"gmtCreate":1626903716762,"gmtModify":1703480117907,"author":{"id":"3577858513648755","authorId":"3577858513648755","name":"Tzeyin","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/91078161ab8777cc6a30db9e126dcf47","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3577858513648755","authorIdStr":"3577858513648755"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"<a 2021, detailing what stock sales and purchases the conglomerate and the legendary investor in charge, Warren Buffett, made during the period. As has been the case for most of the past year, Buffett was active in the financial sector, mostly reducing Berkshire Hathaway's positions in banks. At the company's annual investor day earlier this month, Buffett provided some explanation for all the stock selling he's done in that sector.</p>\n<p>\"I like banks generally,\" he said, \"I just didn't like the proportion we had compared to the possible risk if we got the bad results that so far we haven't gotten.\"</p>\n<p>Let's review the three big changes Buffett and Berkshire Hathaway made to their bank holdings in the first quarter.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/c2da7d6438277757a73f9e626ebc6fc2\" tg-width=\"700\" tg-height=\"466\"><span>Image source: Getty Images.</span></p>\n<h2>1. All but eliminating Wells Fargo</h2>\n<p>Everyone knew it was coming, but Buffett all but made it official last quarter, nearly eliminating his position in his onetime favorite bank, <b>Wells Fargo</b> (NYSE:WFC). Berkshire Hathaway sold 51.7 million shares, dropping its stake to a mere 675,000 shares valued at $26.3 million.</p>\n<p>This essentially ends what was an epic run for the Oracle of Omaha and Wells Fargo. Buffett first purchased shares in the large U.S. bank in 1989, and by 1994, he had acquired more than 13% of its outstanding shares. At the end of the third quarter of 2019, before the pandemic, Buffett's stake, which had a rough original cost basis of just below $9 billion, was worth close to $20 billion. And at <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AONE\">one</a> point back in 2017, it was reportedly worth as much as $29 billion.</p>\n<p>But as the fallout of Wells Fargo's phony accounts scandal and other revelations about its consumer abuses continued to play out, Buffett began to lose faith in the institution and started trimming his position. It looks like Buffett ultimately ended up making much less on his Wells Fargo investment than he could have, considering he sold more than 323 million shares between the end of Q1 2020 and the end of Q1 2021. During that 12-month period, the bank's shares traded from a low of $21.45 to a high of $39.07. At the end of 2019, they traded north of $53.</p>\n<p>The stock closed at $45.73 on Thursday, and many investors still believe Wells Fargo is undervalued these days, trading at 135% tangible book value (equity minus intangible assets and goodwill). Bank valuations have shot up in recent months, and Wells Fargo in particular could see more tailwinds when the Federal Reserve lifts the $1.95 trillion asset cap that the bank has been operating under since 2018.</p>\n<h2>2. Dumping <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/SYF\">Synchrony Financial</a></h2>\n<p>Last quarter, Berkshire Hathaway also eliminated its entire stake in the consumer finance credit card company <b>Synchrony Financial </b>(NYSE:SYF), selling its 21.1 million shares. Synchrony uses what it calls a \"partner-centric\" business model under which it teams up with leading retailers and digital brands that promote Synchrony's credit cards. Consumers can get deals on specific purchases by opening Synchrony credit cards, which are often branded under a retailer's name.</p>\n<p>While I wouldn't say I saw this move coming, it doesn't entirely surprise me. Over the last year, Buffett has become even more selective about which banks he wants to own. He seems to be picking a winner or two in each banking industry subcategory -- for instance, he sold his stake in America's largest bank, <b>JPMorgan Chase</b>, and loaded up on America's second-largest bank, <b>Bank of America</b>.</p>\n<p>Considering that Buffett already has a huge position in <b>American <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/EXPR\">Express</a></b>, and loves the brand, that is likely going to be his pick for a credit-card-focused holding. Berkshire Hathaway likely made a good profit on that Synchrony investment, though, considering that the stock hit its highest level ever during Q1.</p>\n<h2>3. Trimming U.S. Bancorp again</h2>\n<p>Berkshire Hathaway also sold about 1.45 million shares of <b>U.S. Bancorp</b> (NYSE:USB) in the first quarter -- but it still owns nearly 129.7 million shares. The Oracle of Omaha has sold small quantities of shares of the Minnesota-based regional bank a few times over the last year, and it's a bit unclear why. It does appear that he has made U.S. Bancorp his regional bank pick, though. He sold off his other regional bank holdings, including his stakes in <b>PNC Financial Services Group</b> and <b>M&T Bank</b>, in the fourth quarter of 2020. </p>\n<p>One possible explanation relates to Buffett's well-known desire to keep his stakes in those banks below 10%, so he can avoid the additional reporting requirements that a higher ownership level would trigger. At the end of the first quarter, Buffett owned about 8.7% of U.S. Bancorp's outstanding shares. So his stock sale may have simply been a move to prepare for the bank's planned share repurchases, which should accelerate later this year. Last quarter's adjustment should maintain Berkshire Hathaway's stake at a level comfortably under the 10% threshold, even after U.S. Bancorp's total share count is reduced. </p>\n<p>Overall, I still feel confident that Buffett plans to stick with U.S. Bancorp, although I will continue to watch his moves in upcoming quarters to see if he further reduces his stake in it.</p>","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"<!DOCTYPE html>\n<html>\n<head>\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; charset=utf-8\" />\n<meta name=\"viewport\" content=\"width=device-width,initial-scale=1.0,minimum-scale=1.0,maximum-scale=1.0,user-scalable=no\"/>\n<meta name=\"format-detection\" content=\"telephone=no,email=no,address=no\" />\n<title>Here Are the 3 Bank Moves Warren Buffett Has Made So Far in 2021</title>\n<style type=\"text/css\">\na,abbr,acronym,address,applet,article,aside,audio,b,big,blockquote,body,canvas,caption,center,cite,code,dd,del,details,dfn,div,dl,dt,\nem,embed,fieldset,figcaption,figure,footer,form,h1,h2,h3,h4,h5,h6,header,hgroup,html,i,iframe,img,ins,kbd,label,legend,li,mark,menu,nav,\nobject,ol,output,p,pre,q,ruby,s,samp,section,small,span,strike,strong,sub,summary,sup,table,tbody,td,tfoot,th,thead,time,tr,tt,u,ul,var,video{ font:inherit;margin:0;padding:0;vertical-align:baseline;border:0 }\nbody{ font-size:16px; line-height:1.5; color:#999; background:transparent; }\n.wrapper{ overflow:hidden;word-break:break-all;padding:10px; }\nh1,h2{ font-weight:normal; line-height:1.35; margin-bottom:.6em; }\nh3,h4,h5,h6{ line-height:1.35; margin-bottom:1em; }\nh1{ font-size:24px; }\nh2{ font-size:20px; }\nh3{ font-size:18px; }\nh4{ font-size:16px; }\nh5{ font-size:14px; }\nh6{ font-size:12px; }\np,ul,ol,blockquote,dl,table{ margin:1.2em 0; }\nul,ol{ margin-left:2em; }\nul{ list-style:disc; }\nol{ list-style:decimal; }\nli,li p{ margin:10px 0;}\nimg{ max-width:100%;display:block;margin:0 auto 1em; }\nblockquote{ color:#B5B2B1; border-left:3px solid #aaa; padding:1em; }\nstrong,b{font-weight:bold;}\nem,i{font-style:italic;}\ntable{ width:100%;border-collapse:collapse;border-spacing:1px;margin:1em 0;font-size:.9em; }\nth,td{ padding:5px;text-align:left;border:1px solid #aaa; }\nth{ font-weight:bold;background:#5d5d5d; }\n.symbol-link{font-weight:bold;}\n/* header{ border-bottom:1px solid #494756; } */\n.title{ margin:0 0 8px;line-height:1.3;color:#ddd; }\n.meta {color:#5e5c6d;font-size:13px;margin:0 0 .5em; }\na{text-decoration:none; color:#2a4b87;}\n.meta .head { display: inline-block; overflow: hidden}\n.head .h-thumb { width: 30px; height: 30px; margin: 0; padding: 0; border-radius: 50%; float: left;}\n.head .h-content { margin: 0; padding: 0 0 0 9px; float: left;}\n.head .h-name {font-size: 13px; color: #eee; margin: 0;}\n.head .h-time {font-size: 11px; color: #7E829C; margin: 0;line-height: 11px;}\n.small {font-size: 12.5px; display: inline-block; transform: scale(0.9); -webkit-transform: scale(0.9); transform-origin: left; -webkit-transform-origin: left;}\n.smaller {font-size: 12.5px; display: inline-block; transform: scale(0.8); -webkit-transform: scale(0.8); transform-origin: left; -webkit-transform-origin: left;}\n.bt-text {font-size: 12px;margin: 1.5em 0 0 0}\n.bt-text p {margin: 0}\n</style>\n</head>\n<body>\n<div class=\"wrapper\">\n<header>\n<h2 class=\"title\">\nHere Are the 3 Bank Moves Warren Buffett Has Made So Far in 2021\n</h2>\n\n<h4 class=\"meta\">\n\n\n2021-05-21 23:36 GMT+8 <a href=https://www.fool.com/investing/2021/05/21/here-are-the-3-bank-moves-warren-buffett-has-made/><strong>Motley Fool</strong></a>\n\n\n</h4>\n\n</header>\n<article>\n<div>\n<p>Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE:BRK.A) (NYSE:BRK.B) recently filed its 13F form for the first quarter of 2021, detailing what stock sales and purchases the conglomerate and the legendary investor in charge, ...</p>\n\n<a href=\"https://www.fool.com/investing/2021/05/21/here-are-the-3-bank-moves-warren-buffett-has-made/\">Web Link</a>\n\n</div>\n\n\n</article>\n</div>\n</body>\n</html>\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"USB":"美国合众银行","BRK.A":"伯克希尔","BRK.B":"伯克希尔B","WFC":"富国银行","SYF":"Synchrony Financial"},"source_url":"https://www.fool.com/investing/2021/05/21/here-are-the-3-bank-moves-warren-buffett-has-made/","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"2137906121","content_text":"Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE:BRK.A) (NYSE:BRK.B) recently filed its 13F form for the first quarter of 2021, detailing what stock sales and purchases the conglomerate and the legendary investor in charge, Warren Buffett, made during the period. As has been the case for most of the past year, Buffett was active in the financial sector, mostly reducing Berkshire Hathaway's positions in banks. At the company's annual investor day earlier this month, Buffett provided some explanation for all the stock selling he's done in that sector.\n\"I like banks generally,\" he said, \"I just didn't like the proportion we had compared to the possible risk if we got the bad results that so far we haven't gotten.\"\nLet's review the three big changes Buffett and Berkshire Hathaway made to their bank holdings in the first quarter.\nImage source: Getty Images.\n1. All but eliminating Wells Fargo\nEveryone knew it was coming, but Buffett all but made it official last quarter, nearly eliminating his position in his onetime favorite bank, Wells Fargo (NYSE:WFC). Berkshire Hathaway sold 51.7 million shares, dropping its stake to a mere 675,000 shares valued at $26.3 million.\nThis essentially ends what was an epic run for the Oracle of Omaha and Wells Fargo. And at one point back in 2017, it was reportedly worth as much as $29 billion.\nBut as the fallout of Wells Fargo's phony accounts scandal and other revelations about its consumer abuses continued to play out, Buffett began to lose faith in the institution and started trimming his position. At the end of 2019, they traded north of $53.\nThe stock closed at $45.73 on Thursday, and many investors still believe Wells Fargo is undervalued these days, trading at 135% tangible book value (equity minus intangible assets and goodwill). Bank valuations have shot up in recent months, and Wells Fargo in particular could see more tailwinds when the Federal Reserve lifts the $1.95 trillion asset cap that the bank has been operating under since 2018.\n2. Dumping Synchrony Financial\nLast quarter, Berkshire Hathaway also eliminated its entire stake in the consumer finance credit card company Synchrony Financial (NYSE:SYF), selling its 21.1 million shares. Synchrony uses what it calls a \"partner-centric\" business model under which it teams up with leading retailers and digital brands that promote Synchrony's credit cards. Consumers can get deals on specific purchases by opening Synchrony credit cards, which are often branded under a retailer's name.\nWhile I wouldn't say I saw this move coming, it doesn't entirely surprise me. Over the last year, Buffett has become even more selective about which banks he wants to own. He seems to be picking a winner or two in each banking industry subcategory -- for instance, he sold his stake in America's largest bank, JPMorgan Chase, and loaded up on America's second-largest bank, Bank of America.\nConsidering that Buffett already has a huge position in American Express, and loves the brand, that is likely going to be his pick for a credit-card-focused holding. Berkshire Hathaway likely made a good profit on that Synchrony investment, though, considering that the stock hit its highest level ever during Q1.\n3. Trimming U.S. Bancorp again\nBerkshire Hathaway also sold about 1.45 million shares of U.S. Bancorp (NYSE:USB) in the first quarter -- but it still owns nearly 129.7 million shares. The Oracle of Omaha has sold small quantities of shares of the Minnesota-based regional bank a few times over the last year, and it's a bit unclear why. It does appear that he has made U.S. Bancorp his regional bank pick, though. He sold off his other regional bank holdings, including his stakes in PNC Financial Services Group and M&T Bank, in the fourth quarter of 2020. \nOne possible explanation relates to Buffett's well-known desire to keep his stakes in those banks below 10%, so he can avoid the additional reporting requirements that a higher ownership level would trigger. \nOverall, I still feel confident that Buffett plans to stick with U.S. Bancorp, although I will continue to watch his moves in upcoming quarters to see if he further reduces his stake in it.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":201,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":197224836,"gmtCreate":1621470256925,"gmtModify":1704358038098,"author":{"id":"3577858513648755","authorId":"3577858513648755","name":"Tzeyin","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/91078161ab8777cc6a30db9e126dcf47","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3577858513648755","authorIdStr":"3577858513648755"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"S&P 500","listText":"S&P 500","text":"S&P 500","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3dd16da41e020de18b9b47bbd2d1cdfe","width":"1125","height":"2469"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/197224836","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":304,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"hots":[{"id":190072373,"gmtCreate":1620561769192,"gmtModify":1704344987750,"author":{"id":"3577858513648755","authorId":"3577858513648755","name":"Tzeyin","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/91078161ab8777cc6a30db9e126dcf47","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3577858513648755","authorIdStr":"3577858513648755"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Long way to go to recovery ...","listText":"Long way to go to recovery ...","text":"Long way to go to recovery ...","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":7,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/190072373","repostId":"1193602237","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1193602237","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1620471120,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1193602237?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-05-08 18:52","market":"us","language":"en","title":"U.S. hiring takes big step back as businesses scramble for workers, raw materials","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1193602237","media":"reuters","summary":"U.S. employers likely hired nearly a million workers in April as they rushed to meet a surge in dema","content":"<p>U.S. employers likely hired nearly a million workers in April as they rushed to meet a surge in demand, unleashed by the reopening of the economy amid rapidly improving public health and massive financial help from the government.</p><p>The Labor Department's closely watched employment report on Friday will be the first to show the impact of the White House's $1.9 trillion COVID-19 pandemic rescue package, which was approved in March. It is likely to show the economy entered the second quarter with even greater momentum, firmly putting it on track this year for its best performance in almost four decades.</p><p>\"We are looking for a pretty good figure, reflecting the ongoing reopening we have seen,\" said James Knightley, chief international economist at ING in New York. \"With cash in people's pockets, economic activity is looking good and that should lead to more and more hiring right across the economy.\"</p><p>According to a Reuters survey of economists, nonfarm payrolls likely increased by 978,000 jobs last month after rising by 916,000 in March. That would leave employment about 7.5 million jobs below its peak in February 2020.</p><p>Twelve months ago, the economy purged a record 20.679 million jobs as it reeled from mandatory closures of nonessential businesses to slow the first wave of COVID-19 infections.</p><p>April's payrolls estimates range from as low as 656,000 to as high as 2.1 million jobs. New claims for unemployment benefits have dropped below 500,000 for the first-time since the pandemic started and job cuts announced by U.S.-based employers in April were the lowest in nearly 21 years.</p><p>Also arguing for another month of blockbuster job growth, consumers' perceptions of the labor market are the strongest in 13 months. But the pent-up demand, which contributed to the economy's 6.4% annualized growth pace in the first quarter, the second-fastest since the third quarter of 2003, has triggered shortages of labor and raw materials.</p><p>From manufacturing to restaurants, employers are scrambling for workers. A range of factors, including parents still at home caring for children, coronavirus-related retirements and generous unemployment checks, are blamed for the labor shortages.</p><p>\"While we do not expect that lack of workers will weigh noticeably on April employment, rehiring could become more difficult in coming months before expanded unemployment benefits expire in September,\" said Veronica Clark, an economist at Citigroup in New York.</p><p>Payroll gains were likely led by the leisure and hospitality industry as more high-contact businesses such as restaurants, bars and amusement parks reopen. Americans over the age of 16 are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, leading states like New York, New Jersey and Connecticut to lift most of their coronavirus capacity restrictions on businesses.</p><p>BROAD EMPLOYMENT GAINS</p><p>Solid gains were also expected in manufacturing, despite a global semiconductor chip shortage, which has forced motor vehicle manufacturers to cut production. Strong housing demand likely boosted construction payrolls.</p><p>Government employment is also expected to have picked up as school districts hired more teachers following the resumption of in-person learning in many states.</p><p>Robust hiring is unlikely to have an impact on President Joe Biden's plan to spend another $4 trillion on education and childcare, middle- and low-income families, infrastructure and jobs. Neither was it expected to influence monetary policy, with the Federal Reserve having signaled it is prepared to let the economy run hotter than it did in previous cycles.</p><p>Millions of Americans remain out of work and many have permanently lost jobs because of the pandemic.</p><p>\"Nobody knows what the economy is going to look like post COVID,\" said Steven Blitz, chief U.S. economist at TS Lombard in New York. \"There is a stubbornly high number of people who have been permanently displaced. The (spending) plans are about giving the economy a higher trajectory of growth so that these people can be hired sooner rather than later.\"</p><p>The unemployment rate is forecast dropping to 5.8% in April from 6.0% in March. The unemployment rate has been understated by people misclassifying themselves as being \"employed but absent from work.\"</p><p>To gauge the recovery, economists will focus on the number of people who have been unemployed for more than six months as well as those out of work because of permanent job losses.</p><p>The labor force participation rate, or the proportion of working-age Americans who have a job or are looking for one, likely improved last month, though it remained below its pre-pandemic level. More than 4 million people, many of them women, dropped out of the labor force during the pandemic.</p><p>With the lower-wage leisure and hospitality industry expected to dominate employment gains, average hourly earnings were likely unchanged in April after dipping 0.1% in March. That would lead to a 0.4% drop in wages on a year-on-year basis after a 4.2% increase in March.</p><p>\"We will be watching average hourly earnings very closely for signs that difficulty in hiring qualified workers is beginning to boost compensation,\" said David Kelly, chief global strategist at J.P. Morgan Asset Management in New York.</p><p>\"If tightening labor markets boost wage growth, then the inflation bounce which the Fed is anticipating to be modest and transitory could turn out to be stronger and longer-lasting, leading to earlier Fed tightening.\"</p><p>The anticipated drop in wages will have no impact on consumer spending, with Americans sitting on more than $2 trillion in excess savings. The average workweek was forecast steady at 34.9 hours.</p>","collect":0,"html":"<!DOCTYPE html>\n<html>\n<head>\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; charset=utf-8\" />\n<meta name=\"viewport\" content=\"width=device-width,initial-scale=1.0,minimum-scale=1.0,maximum-scale=1.0,user-scalable=no\"/>\n<meta name=\"format-detection\" content=\"telephone=no,email=no,address=no\" />\n<title>U.S. hiring takes big step back as businesses scramble for workers, raw materials</title>\n<style type=\"text/css\">\na,abbr,acronym,address,applet,article,aside,audio,b,big,blockquote,body,canvas,caption,center,cite,code,dd,del,details,dfn,div,dl,dt,\nem,embed,fieldset,figcaption,figure,footer,form,h1,h2,h3,h4,h5,h6,header,hgroup,html,i,iframe,img,ins,kbd,label,legend,li,mark,menu,nav,\nobject,ol,output,p,pre,q,ruby,s,samp,section,small,span,strike,strong,sub,summary,sup,table,tbody,td,tfoot,th,thead,time,tr,tt,u,ul,var,video{ font:inherit;margin:0;padding:0;vertical-align:baseline;border:0 }\nbody{ font-size:16px; line-height:1.5; color:#999; background:transparent; }\n.wrapper{ overflow:hidden;word-break:break-all;padding:10px; }\nh1,h2{ font-weight:normal; line-height:1.35; margin-bottom:.6em; }\nh3,h4,h5,h6{ line-height:1.35; margin-bottom:1em; }\nh1{ font-size:24px; }\nh2{ font-size:20px; }\nh3{ font-size:18px; }\nh4{ font-size:16px; }\nh5{ font-size:14px; }\nh6{ font-size:12px; }\np,ul,ol,blockquote,dl,table{ margin:1.2em 0; }\nul,ol{ margin-left:2em; }\nul{ list-style:disc; }\nol{ list-style:decimal; }\nli,li p{ margin:10px 0;}\nimg{ max-width:100%;display:block;margin:0 auto 1em; }\nblockquote{ color:#B5B2B1; border-left:3px solid #aaa; padding:1em; }\nstrong,b{font-weight:bold;}\nem,i{font-style:italic;}\ntable{ width:100%;border-collapse:collapse;border-spacing:1px;margin:1em 0;font-size:.9em; }\nth,td{ padding:5px;text-align:left;border:1px solid #aaa; }\nth{ font-weight:bold;background:#5d5d5d; }\n.symbol-link{font-weight:bold;}\n/* header{ border-bottom:1px solid #494756; } */\n.title{ margin:0 0 8px;line-height:1.3;color:#ddd; }\n.meta {color:#5e5c6d;font-size:13px;margin:0 0 .5em; }\na{text-decoration:none; color:#2a4b87;}\n.meta .head { display: inline-block; overflow: hidden}\n.head .h-thumb { width: 30px; height: 30px; margin: 0; padding: 0; border-radius: 50%; float: left;}\n.head .h-content { margin: 0; padding: 0 0 0 9px; float: left;}\n.head .h-name {font-size: 13px; color: #eee; margin: 0;}\n.head .h-time {font-size: 11px; color: #7E829C; margin: 0;line-height: 11px;}\n.small {font-size: 12.5px; display: inline-block; transform: scale(0.9); -webkit-transform: scale(0.9); transform-origin: left; -webkit-transform-origin: left;}\n.smaller {font-size: 12.5px; display: inline-block; transform: scale(0.8); -webkit-transform: scale(0.8); transform-origin: left; -webkit-transform-origin: left;}\n.bt-text {font-size: 12px;margin: 1.5em 0 0 0}\n.bt-text p {margin: 0}\n</style>\n</head>\n<body>\n<div class=\"wrapper\">\n<header>\n<h2 class=\"title\">\nU.S. hiring takes big step back as businesses scramble for workers, raw materials\n</h2>\n\n<h4 class=\"meta\">\n\n\n2021-05-08 18:52 GMT+8 <a href=https://www.reuters.com/markets><strong>reuters</strong></a>\n\n\n</h4>\n\n</header>\n<article>\n<div>\n<p>U.S. employers likely hired nearly a million workers in April as they rushed to meet a surge in demand, unleashed by the reopening of the economy amid rapidly improving public health and massive ...</p>\n\n<a href=\"https://www.reuters.com/markets\">Web Link</a>\n\n</div>\n\n\n</article>\n</div>\n</body>\n</html>\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{},"source_url":"https://www.reuters.com/markets","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1193602237","content_text":"U.S. employers likely hired nearly a million workers in April as they rushed to meet a surge in demand, unleashed by the reopening of the economy amid rapidly improving public health and massive financial help from the government. The Labor Department's closely watched employment report on Friday will be the first to show the impact of the White House's $1.9 trillion COVID-19 pandemic rescue package, which was approved in March. But the pent-up demand, which contributed to the economy's 6.4% annualized growth pace in the first quarter, the second-fastest since the third quarter of 2003, has triggered shortages of labor and raw materials. From manufacturing to restaurants, employers are scrambling for workers. A range of factors, including parents still at home caring for children, coronavirus-related retirements and generous unemployment checks, are blamed for the labor shortages.\"While we do not expect that lack of workers will weigh noticeably on April employment, rehiring could become more difficult in coming months before expanded unemployment benefits expire in September,\" said Veronica Clark, an economist at Citigroup in New York.Payroll gains were likely led by the leisure and hospitality industry as more high-contact businesses such as restaurants, bars and amusement parks reopen. Americans over the age of 16 are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, leading states like New York, New Jersey and Connecticut to lift most of their coronavirus capacity restrictions on businesses.BROAD EMPLOYMENT GAINSSolid gains were also expected in manufacturing, despite a global semiconductor chip shortage, which has forced motor vehicle manufacturers to cut production. Strong housing demand likely boosted construction payrolls.Government employment is also expected to have picked up as school districts hired more teachers following the resumption of in-person learning in many states.Robust hiring is unlikely to have an impact on President Joe Biden's plan to spend another $4 trillion on education and childcare, middle- and low-income families, infrastructure and jobs. Neither was it expected to influence monetary policy, with the Federal Reserve having signaled it is prepared to let the economy run hotter than it did in previous cycles.Millions of Americans remain out of work and many have permanently lost jobs because of the pandemic.\"Nobody knows what the economy is going to look like post COVID,\" said Steven Blitz, chief U.S. economist at TS Lombard in New York. \"There is a stubbornly high number of people who have been permanently displaced. The (spending) plans are about giving the economy a higher trajectory of growth so that these people can be hired sooner rather than later.\"The unemployment rate is forecast dropping to 5.8% in April from 6.0% in March. The unemployment rate has been understated by people misclassifying themselves as being \"employed but absent from work.\"To gauge the recovery, economists will focus on the number of people who have been unemployed for more than six months as well as those out of work because of permanent job losses. The labor force participation rate, or the proportion of working-age Americans who have a job or are looking for one, likely improved last month, though it remained below its pre-pandemic level. More than 4 million people, many of them women, dropped out of the labor force during the pandemic. With the lower-wage leisure and hospitality industry expected to dominate employment gains, average hourly earnings were likely unchanged in April after dipping 0.1% in March. That would lead to a 0.4% drop in wages on a year-on-year basis after a 4.2% increase in March.\"We will be watching average hourly earnings very closely for signs that difficulty in hiring qualified workers is beginning to boost compensation,\" said David Kelly, chief global strategist at J.P. Morgan Asset Management in New York.\"If tightening labor markets boost wage growth, then the inflation bounce which the Fed is anticipating to be modest and transitory could turn out to be stronger and longer-lasting, leading to earlier Fed tightening.\"The anticipated drop in wages will have no impact on consumer spending, with Americans sitting on more than $2 trillion in excess savings. The average workweek was forecast steady at 34.9 hours.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":96,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":168887003,"gmtCreate":1623971607702,"gmtModify":1703824842388,"author":{"id":"3577858513648755","authorId":"3577858513648755","name":"Tzeyin","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/91078161ab8777cc6a30db9e126dcf47","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3577858513648755","authorIdStr":"3577858513648755"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"<a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/APPS\">$Digital Turbine(APPS)$</a>Digital turbine ","listText":"<a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/APPS\">$Digital Turbine(APPS)$</a>Digital turbine ","text":"$Digital Turbine(APPS)$Digital turbine","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3282b3561baa9a420be43559f9663406","width":"1242","height":"2151"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":4,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/168887003","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":313,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":176272385,"gmtCreate":1626903761747,"gmtModify":1703480117744,"author":{"id":"3577858513648755","authorId":"3577858513648755","name":"Tzeyin","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/91078161ab8777cc6a30db9e126dcf47","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3577858513648755","authorIdStr":"3577858513648755"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Great !!","listText":"Great !!","text":"Great !!","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/176272385","repostId":"1107219983","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1107219983","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1626858926,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1107219983?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-07-21 17:15","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Here Is The One-Word Reason Why JPMorgan Just Raised Its S&P Target To 4,600","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1107219983","media":"zerohedge","summary":"Mid-cycle?Late-cycle? With record profit margins (~13% in 2022 vs ~11.5% in 2019), bloated cash levels of $2.0T ex-financials (vs. $1.6T pre- COVID), and lower high grade debt yields (JULI at 2.6% now, vs 3.3% prepandemic),we are expecting a boom in buyback activity over the next year.Gross buybacks should surpass the prior executed high of $850b.\nIn summary, assuming $875b in buybacks and dividend income of $575 over the next year,JPM calculates thatthe expected shareholder yield is 3.9%.This, as Dubravko concludes, \"is a significant cross-asset valuation support for equities at a time when 10yr US bonds are yielding 1.2% and $13 trillion of global debt has a negative yield.\"","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":638,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":190315624,"gmtCreate":1620599227368,"gmtModify":1704345177201,"author":{"id":"3577858513648755","authorId":"3577858513648755","name":"Tzeyin","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/91078161ab8777cc6a30db9e126dcf47","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3577858513648755","authorIdStr":"3577858513648755"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"moderna","listText":"moderna","text":"moderna","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/c4bdd5165a1420112e71566165a4fd17","width":"1125","height":"2469"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/190315624","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":136,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":107237291,"gmtCreate":1620505236613,"gmtModify":1704344361824,"author":{"id":"3577858513648755","authorId":"3577858513648755","name":"Tzeyin","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/91078161ab8777cc6a30db9e126dcf47","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3577858513648755","authorIdStr":"3577858513648755"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"<a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/SBUX\">$Starbucks(SBUX)$</a>free stock ","listText":"<a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/SBUX\">$Starbucks(SBUX)$</a>free stock ","text":"$Starbucks(SBUX)$free stock","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/b77ebc7b7c6b9ca02d64c14a10f4ba49","width":"1242","height":"2385"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":1,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/107237291","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":173,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":102904339,"gmtCreate":1620171860321,"gmtModify":1704339577931,"author":{"id":"3577858513648755","authorId":"3577858513648755","name":"Tzeyin","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/91078161ab8777cc6a30db9e126dcf47","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3577858513648755","authorIdStr":"3577858513648755"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Do not own any stock they owned :) ","listText":"Do not own any stock they owned :) ","text":"Do not own any stock they owned :)","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/102904339","repostId":"1141446343","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1141446343","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1620108260,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1141446343?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-05-04 14:04","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Bill and Melinda Gates are getting divorced. (AAPL) and Tesla Inc. (TSLA) seem as contrasting as treacle and water whether we are comparing their business models or the stock. However, after Apple confirmed that it was indeed working tolaunch a carin three to six years, market players have begun to speak about the two tech titans in the same breath.</p><p>In this article, I will compare the valuations of Apple and Tesla as well as discuss their respective stock performance. I will also discuss the suitability of AAPL and TSLA to different types of long-term investors.</p><p><b>Valuation comparison of Apple and Tesla</b></p><p>From the trough in March 2020 following the market panic over the COVID-19 outbreak, Tesla stock climbed more than 1000 percent higher by January this year. After the swoon in March, TSLA is still up over 800 percent, far outperforming Apple stock which had<i>merely</i>doubled in the same period.</p><p>Judging by the percentage returns, TSLA is the undisputed champion over AAPL. However, it's important to note that more than $1 trillion in market capitalization was added to Apple since mid-March of last year, while Tesla scored a smaller increase of $582 million.</p><p>At its current market cap of $648.9 billion, Tesla, Inc. is less than one-third the size of Apple, Inc. Despite the massive media attention it receives and the outsized influence its chief executive officer Elon Musk has on the investing community, Tesla only has 72 percent of the market cap of social media giant Facebook (FB).</p><p>In other words, while Apple stock has broken the psychological market cap of both one trillion and two trillion dollars, Tesla stock is still some distance from being \"obstructed\" by the first trillion-barrier. Considering that TSLA had in January surpassed FB stock in terms of market cap, should that happen again, we could see it potentially breaching the one trillion dollars level for the first time.</p><p>Critics could argue that would bring Tesla's price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio to above a thousand times, a mind-boggling number in itself. In contrast, Apple's P/E ratio is currently at 28.7 times, a paltry number in comparison. However, for much of TSLA's trading history, the stock didn't even have a P/E ratio to speak of, as the company was not profitable for many years. Yet, the lack of a P/E ratio did not deter investors from piling in.</p><p>Based on the price-to-sales ratio, if Tesla Inc. reclaims the 30 times record achieved in January, its market cap would indeed be within reach of the one trillion dollar mark, coming at around $930 million. At the same time, comparing Apple with Tesla, the former certainly looks \"cheap\" and could be described as a \"screaming buy\". I have made the description in quotations as that can be said of many stocks when compared with Tesla.</p><p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/0237824d55d08bcaac64f42aca9d9863\" tg-width=\"640\" tg-height=\"495\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\"></p><p>Hence, it's more instructive to compare Apple Inc. with itself. In the past 10 years, its P/E ratio is an average of 17 times. The current P/E of 29 times is, thus, a leap over the historical average, even though it has come off the recent peaks of over 40 times in the past year.</p><p>For those who look beyond the income statements and into the cash flows, Apple's $90.5 billion free cash flow [FCF] outshines Tesla's $2.4 billion by an extremely wide margin. Putting the chasm in perspective, AAPL's price-to-FCF ratio at 24 times is ultra-low relative to TSLA's 310 times.</p><p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/960a9aac76fa63f1641c99e5f6552848\" tg-width=\"640\" tg-height=\"494\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\"></p><p><b>Should long-term investors go for AAPL or TSLA?</b></p><p>At first glance, it looks to me that Apple stock is a good value buy. However, looking at the quant grade for value, AAPL's score of D+ is not that much better than TSLA's F. Why is this so? The primary reason is that quant ratings are based on the individual stock's metrics relative to its industry. Apple, Inc. belongs to the Information Technology sector, while Tesla, Inc. falls under Consumer Discretionary.</p><p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/6387a75dbe764282d1160dac9c93e1c3\" tg-width=\"640\" tg-height=\"271\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\"><span> Source: Seeking Alpha Premium</span></p><p>For growth, AAPL scored a poor grade of C- while TSLA has a stellar A+. While this is also judged according to their respective sectors, readers can see in the following table that TSLA's growth metrics are significantly superior to AAPL and consistently so.</p><p>For instance, Tesla's revenue on a 5-year CAGR basis is 53.2 percent, several times that of Apple's 7.4 percent. If Tesla's 50.8 percent EBITDA year-on-year growth is impressive, the 63.5 percent EBITDA growth on a forward basis would be incredible. In contrast, analysts are forecasting Apple's EBITDA growth on a forward basis to be more than halved. TSLA grew its tangible book value by 77.2 percent CAGR in the past three years while AAPL saw a contraction of 18.3 percent in the same period.</p><table><tbody><tr><th>Growth Metrics</th><th>AAPL</th><th>TSLA</th></tr><tr><th>Revenue Growth (YoY)</th><td><p>21.43%</p></td><td><p>38.11%</p></td></tr><tr><th>Revenue Growth (FWD)</th><td><p>12.19%</p></td><td><p>39.54%</p></td></tr><tr><th>Revenue 3 Year [CAGR]</th><td><p>9.56%</p></td><td><p>42.31%</p></td></tr><tr><th>Revenue 5 Year [CAGR]</th><td><p>7.42%</p></td><td><p>53.24%</p></td></tr><tr><th>EBITDA Growth (YoY)</th><td><p>29.12%</p></td><td><p>50.80%</p></td></tr><tr><th>EBITDA Growth (FWD)</th><td><p>12.96%</p></td><td><p>63.49%</p></td></tr><tr><th>Tang Book Value 3 Year [CAGR]</th><td><p>-18.31%</p></td><td><p>77.24%</p></td></tr><tr><th>Total Assets 3 Year [CAGR]</th><td><p>-2.83%</p></td><td><p>24.77%</p></td></tr></tbody></table><p>The saving grace for Apple Inc., or its attraction, is its superior profitability metrics. Its gross profit margin is nearly double that of Tesla. Further down the income statement, Apple's net income margin at 23.5 percent is more than 7 times higher than Tesla's.</p><p>AAPL's Return on Equity is a staggering 103.4 percent as compared to TSLA's 7.2 percent. The disparity is expected to widen as Apple continues to execute its share buyback program, shrinking its equity, while Tesla issues new shares to fund its growth. Its Return on Assets at 16.9 percent is several times that of Tesla's 3.0 percent. Its Return on Total Capital at 28.6 percent is 6.7 times that of Tesla's 4.3 percent.</p><table><tbody><tr><th>Profitability Metrics</th><th>AAPL</th><th>TSLA</th></tr><tr><th>Gross Profit Margin</th><td><p>39.88%</p></td><td><p>21.18%</p></td></tr><tr><th>EBIT Margin</th><td><p>27.32%</p></td><td><p>6.01%</p></td></tr><tr><th>EBITDA Margin</th><td><p>30.68%</p></td><td><p>12.66%</p></td></tr><tr><th>Net Income Margin</th><td><p>23.45%</p></td><td><p>3.18%</p></td></tr><tr><th>Levered FCF Margin</th><td><p>24.62%</p></td><td><p>9.84%</p></td></tr><tr><th>Return on Equity</th><td><p>103.40%</p></td><td><p>7.16%</p></td></tr><tr><th>Return on Assets</th><td><p>16.90%</p></td><td><p>2.99%</p></td></tr><tr><th>Return on Total Capital</th><td><p>28.64%</p></td><td><p>4.30%</p></td></tr></tbody></table><p>With this underperformance, should long-term investors ignore Tesla? The answer depends on one's holding power and the ability to stay calm amid the volatility that TSLA stock has been known for. According to Wall Street analysts, Tesla's 2020's earnings per share [EPS] of $2.24 was just a small fraction of what the EV-maker could deliver in the next ten years.</p><p>By 2030, Tesla, Inc. is projected to mint $34.48 in EPS on a consensus basis, giving it a forward P/E ratio of 19.5 times. This will be a dramatic reduction from the current P/E ratio of over 300 times. Quarter-on-quarter, however, the picture might not be as clear as production hiccups from possible mishaps, shortage of components such as semiconductor chips, ramp-up challenges, etc. could obfuscate its true potential and make investors lose track of its long-term story.</p><p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/adb752e67473741117767ed857451476\" tg-width=\"640\" tg-height=\"278\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\"><span>Source: Seeking Alpha Premium</span></p><p>Of course, if you are looking for dividends, TSLA is one stock you can forget about investing in. On the contrary, AAPL offers dividend investors a fairly consistent dividend and an excellent \"dividend safety\", even if the dividend growth is barely a passing grade and the dividend yield is a disappointing D+ grade. However, in comparison, it doesn't necessarily follow that Tesla stock is expensive. The quant ratings for AAPL and TSLA reveal some interesting data which I will share in this article.Quarterly fluctuations could obfuscate the true potential of Tesla and make investors lose track of its long-term story.Photo by Radiomoscow/iStock via Getty ImagesArticle motivationApple Inc. (AAPL) and Tesla Inc. (TSLA) seem as contrasting as treacle and water whether we are comparing their business models or the stock. However, after Apple confirmed that it was indeed working tolaunch a carin three to six years, market players have begun to speak about the two tech titans in the same breath. In this article, I will compare the valuations of Apple and Tesla as well as discuss their respective stock performance. I will also discuss the suitability of AAPL and TSLA to different types of long-term investors.Valuation comparison of Apple and TeslaFrom the trough in March 2020 following the market panic over the COVID-19 outbreak, Tesla stock climbed more than 1000 percent higher by January this year. After the swoon in March, TSLA is still up over 800 percent, far outperforming Apple stock which hadmerelydoubled in the same period.Judging by the percentage returns, TSLA is the undisputed champion over AAPL. However, it's important to note that more than $1 trillion in market capitalization was added to Apple since mid-March of last year, while Tesla scored a smaller increase of $582 million. At its current market cap of $648.9 billion, Tesla, Inc. is less than one-third the size of Apple, Inc. Despite the massive media attention it receives and the outsized influence its chief executive officer Elon Musk has on the investing community, Tesla only has 72 percent of the market cap of social media giant Facebook (FB).In other words, while Apple stock has broken the psychological market cap of both one trillion and two trillion dollars, Tesla stock is still some distance from being \"obstructed\" by the first trillion-barrier. Considering that TSLA had in January surpassed FB stock in terms of market cap, should that happen again, we could see it potentially breaching the one trillion dollars level for the first time.Critics could argue that would bring Tesla's price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio to above a thousand times, a mind-boggling number in itself. In contrast, Apple's P/E ratio is currently at 28.7 times, a paltry number in comparison. However, for much of TSLA's trading history, the stock didn't even have a P/E ratio to speak of, as the company was not profitable for many years. Yet, the lack of a P/E ratio did not deter investors from piling in.Based on the price-to-sales ratio, if Tesla Inc. reclaims the 30 times record achieved in January, its market cap would indeed be within reach of the one trillion dollar mark, coming at around $930 million. At the same time, comparing Apple with Tesla, the former certainly looks \"cheap\" and could be described as a \"screaming buy\". I have made the description in quotations as that can be said of many stocks when compared with Tesla.Hence, it's more instructive to compare Apple Inc. with itself. In the past 10 years, its P/E ratio is an average of 17 times. The current P/E of 29 times is, thus, a leap over the historical average, even though it has come off the recent peaks of over 40 times in the past year. For those who look beyond the income statements and into the cash flows, Apple's $90.5 billion free cash flow [FCF] outshines Tesla's $2.4 billion by an extremely wide margin. Putting the chasm in perspective, AAPL's price-to-FCF ratio at 24 times is ultra-low relative to TSLA's 310 times.Should long-term investors go for AAPL or TSLA?At first glance, it looks to me that Apple stock is a good value buy. However, looking at the quant grade for value, AAPL's score of D+ is not that much better than TSLA's F. Why is this so? The primary reason is that quant ratings are based on the individual stock's metrics relative to its industry. Apple, Inc. belongs to the Information Technology sector, while Tesla, Inc. falls under Consumer Discretionary. Source: Seeking Alpha PremiumFor growth, AAPL scored a poor grade of C- while TSLA has a stellar A+. While this is also judged according to their respective sectors, readers can see in the following table that TSLA's growth metrics are significantly superior to AAPL and consistently so.For instance, Tesla's revenue on a 5-year CAGR basis is 53.2 percent, several times that of Apple's 7.4 percent. If Tesla's 50.8 percent EBITDA year-on-year growth is impressive, the 63.5 percent EBITDA growth on a forward basis would be incredible. In contrast, analysts are forecasting Apple's EBITDA growth on a forward basis to be more than halved. TSLA grew its tangible book value by 77.2 percent CAGR in the past three years while AAPL saw a contraction of 18.3 percent in the same period.Growth MetricsAAPLTSLARevenue Growth (YoY)21.43%38.11%Revenue Growth (FWD)12.19%39.54%Revenue 3 Year [CAGR]9.56%42.31%Revenue 5 Year [CAGR]7.42%53.24%EBITDA Growth (YoY)29.12%50.80%EBITDA Growth (FWD)12.96%63.49%Tang Book Value 3 Year [CAGR]-18.31%77.24%Total Assets 3 Year [CAGR]-2.83%24.77%The saving grace for Apple Inc., or its attraction, is its superior profitability metrics. Its gross profit margin is nearly double that of Tesla. Further down the income statement, Apple's net income margin at 23.5 percent is more than 7 times higher than Tesla's.AAPL's Return on Equity is a staggering 103.4 percent as compared to TSLA's 7.2 percent. The disparity is expected to widen as Apple continues to execute its share buyback program, shrinking its equity, while Tesla issues new shares to fund its growth. Its Return on Assets at 16.9 percent is several times that of Tesla's 3.0 percent. Its Return on Total Capital at 28.6 percent is 6.7 times that of Tesla's 4.3 percent.Profitability MetricsAAPLTSLAGross Profit Margin39.88%21.18%EBIT Margin27.32%6.01%EBITDA Margin30.68%12.66%Net Income Margin23.45%3.18%Levered FCF Margin24.62%9.84%Return on Equity103.40%7.16%Return on Assets16.90%2.99%Return on Total Capital28.64%4.30%With this underperformance, should long-term investors ignore Tesla? The answer depends on one's holding power and the ability to stay calm amid the volatility that TSLA stock has been known for. According to Wall Street analysts, Tesla's 2020's earnings per share [EPS] of $2.24 was just a small fraction of what the EV-maker could deliver in the next ten years.By 2030, Tesla, Inc. is projected to mint $34.48 in EPS on a consensus basis, giving it a forward P/E ratio of 19.5 times. This will be a dramatic reduction from the current P/E ratio of over 300 times. Quarter-on-quarter, however, the picture might not be as clear as production hiccups from possible mishaps, shortage of components such as semiconductor chips, ramp-up challenges, etc. could obfuscate its true potential and make investors lose track of its long-term story.Source: Seeking Alpha PremiumOf course, if you are looking for dividends, TSLA is one stock you can forget about investing in. On the contrary, AAPL offers dividend investors a fairly consistent dividend and an excellent \"dividend safety\", even if the dividend growth is barely a passing grade and the dividend yield is a disappointing D+ grade. A conservative investor wouldn't complain about Apple's dividend. How might Apple's introduction of an electric car affect Tesla? There are more similarities between Apple and Tesla than the duo being in the electric car business three-to-five years down the road. It’s the biggest gaming acquisition in Microsoft’s history, eclipsing the $2.5 billion the firm paid to buy Minecraft developer Mojang in 2014.\nThe Bethesda deal’s completion comes days after the European Union and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission gave the takeover their blessing. Bethesda is a household name in gaming. It’s published a number of hit franchises including the role-playing game series Fallout and The Elder Scrolls, and the Doom shooter franchise.\nIn a blog postTuesday, Microsoft confirmed rumors that some new Bethesda games would be exclusive to its Xbox console and Windows PCs.\n“With the addition of the Bethesda creative teams, gamers should know that Xbox consoles, PC, and Game Pass will be the best place to experience new Bethesda games, including some new titles in the future that will be exclusive to Xbox and PC players,” said Phil Spencer, head of Microsoft’s Xbox unit.\nSuch a move would ramp up Microsoft’s competition withSony. Both firms debuted their next-generation consoles last year, hoping to lure in gamers with the promise of big improvements on the older systems.\nMicrosoft took a different approach to Sony though, heavily marketing its Xbox Game Pass subscription service which offers players access to a library of games. Sony, on the other hand, is touting new PlayStation exclusives to attract gamers.\nWith Bethesda, Microsoft is hoping to build out Xbox Game Pass by including the Rockville, Maryland-based studio’s catalog of titles. But it also aims to convince people to play on its Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S platforms and PCs, rather than Sony’s new PlayStation 5.\nMicrosoft has often been seen as lagging behind Sony when it comes to major first-party releases. Xbox Game Studios’ highly anticipated new Halo game, Halo Infinite, was delayed until later this year after a backlash over quality issues in a reveal of the game.\nGaming has been a key beneficiary from the coronavirus pandemic as people have been spending more of their time at home. Major publishers like Microsoft’s Xbox Game Studios and Electronic Arts have looked to capitalize on that trend by using their huge cash piles to snap up smaller game developers.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":40,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":197224836,"gmtCreate":1621470256925,"gmtModify":1704358038098,"author":{"id":"3577858513648755","authorId":"3577858513648755","name":"Tzeyin","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/91078161ab8777cc6a30db9e126dcf47","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3577858513648755","authorIdStr":"3577858513648755"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"S&P 500","listText":"S&P 500","text":"S&P 500","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3dd16da41e020de18b9b47bbd2d1cdfe","width":"1125","height":"2469"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/197224836","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":304,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":193836744,"gmtCreate":1620778930288,"gmtModify":1704348171949,"author":{"id":"3577858513648755","authorId":"3577858513648755","name":"Tzeyin","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/91078161ab8777cc6a30db9e126dcf47","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3577858513648755","authorIdStr":"3577858513648755"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Great ariticle, would you like to share it?","listText":"Great ariticle, would you like to share it?","text":"Great ariticle, would you like to share it?","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/193836744","repostId":"1179056304","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":68,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":102076173,"gmtCreate":1620171360492,"gmtModify":1704339561057,"author":{"id":"3577858513648755","authorId":"3577858513648755","name":"Tzeyin","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/91078161ab8777cc6a30db9e126dcf47","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3577858513648755","authorIdStr":"3577858513648755"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Market noise :( ","listText":"Market noise :( ","text":"Market noise :(","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/102076173","repostId":"1140575890","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1140575890","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1620141444,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1140575890?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-05-04 23:17","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Yellen says interest rates may have to rise somewhat to make sure economy doesn't overheat","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1140575890","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"(May 4) Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen conceded Tuesday that interest rates may have to rise to kee","content":"<p>(May 4) Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen conceded Tuesday that interest rates may have to rise to keep a lid on the burgeoning growth of the U.S. economy brought on by trillions in government stimulus spending.</p><p>\"It may be that interest rates will have to rise somewhat to make sure that our economy doesn't overheat,\" Yellen said during a economic seminar presented by Th Atlantic. \"Even though additional spending is relatively small to the size of the economy, it could causae some very modest increases in interest rates.\"</p><p>\"But these are investments our economy needs to be competitive and productive,\" she added.</p><p>Nasdaq fell over 2% for now.</p><p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/de3525661b3a7db28a0797ab745db67b\" tg-width=\"629\" tg-height=\"479\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ec61efef423e545861c0ca0126af9332\" tg-width=\"1866\" tg-height=\"894\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\"></p>","collect":0,"html":"<!DOCTYPE html>\n<html>\n<head>\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; And that's really an unknown,\" Magna Chief Financial Officer Vincent Galifi said.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":58,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":105091109,"gmtCreate":1620258110601,"gmtModify":1704340804273,"author":{"id":"3577858513648755","authorId":"3577858513648755","name":"Tzeyin","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/91078161ab8777cc6a30db9e126dcf47","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3577858513648755","authorIdStr":"3577858513648755"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Amazing ","listText":"Amazing ","text":"Amazing","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/105091109","repostId":"2133521525","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2133521525","kind":"highlight","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Stock Market Quotes, Business News, Financial News, Trading Ideas, and Stock Research by Professionals","home_visible":0,"media_name":"Benzinga","id":"1052270027","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d08bf7808052c0ca9deb4e944cae32aa"},"pubTimestamp":1620227934,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2133521525?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-05-05 23:18","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Shopify Smashed Expectations Again But Post-Pandemic Uncertainty Lies Ahead","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2133521525","media":"Benzinga","summary":"Last Wednesday, Shopify (NYSE: SHOP) earnings, revenue and gross merchandise volume for the first quarter crushed analyst expectations As a result, shares of the stock soared 11.4% as e-commerce growth remained robust during the coronavirus pandemic.","content":"<p>Last Wednesday, <b>Shopify </b>(NYSE:SHOP) earnings, revenue and gross merchandise volume for the first quarter crushed analyst expectations As a result, shares of the stock soared 11.4% as e-commerce growth remained robust during the coronavirus pandemic.</p>\n<h4>Q1 Figures</h4>\n<p>For the quarter that ended on March 31st, investors had expected Shopify to post $865.48 million but it delivered $988.6 million instead.
