The blue-chip index logged a seventh straight day of gains in its longest winning streak since August 2020. The Nasdaq also hit all-time intraday and closing highs, and the Dow gained to set its first record high since May 7. Shares of Tesla (TSLA) fluctuated before ending slightly higher after the electric car-maker's second-quarter deliveries hit a new record but still missed analysts' estimates, based on Bloomberg consensus data.
\n
Investorsconsidered the U.S. Labor Department's June jobs report, the central economic data point that came out this week. The print showed a stronger-than-anticipated acceleration in hiring, with non-farm payrolls rising by 850,000 for a sixth straight monthly gain. The unemployment rate, however, unexpectedly ticked up slightly to 5.9%.
\n
\"This is the 'Goldilocks report' that the market was looking for today. You had a nice print here of 850,000 jobs being added, wage pressure remaining — I wouldn't call them necessarily contained — but surprising here on the downside versus consensus estimates. So this is telling us right now that economic growth is continuing to accelerate here, the jobs market is continuing to heal,\" Emily Roland, co-chief investment strategist at John Hancock Investment Management, told Yahoo Finance. \"We're making progress here in terms of what the Fed has set out to do, which is in order to get unemployment get down, they're going to let inflation run a little bit hot here. Not too hot, not too cold — this is just what the market wants.\"
\n
Heading into the report, equities have been buoyed by a slew of strong economic data earlier this week, especially on the labor market.Private payrolls rose by a better-than-expected 692,000 in June, according to ADP, andweekly initial jobless claims improved more than expectedto the lowest level since March 2020. Still, other reports underscored the still-prevalent labor supply challenges impacting companies across industries, with the scarcity capping what has otherwise been a robust economic rebound.
\n
\"It's really the labor market supply that's putting the brake on hiring right now,\" Luke Tilley, chief economist for Wilmington Trust, told Yahoo Finance. \"But we're pretty optimistic, the market is pretty optimistic, and we think that's a big part of what's driving these indexes higher.\"
\n
Friday's jobs report will also give markets a suggestion as to the timing of the Federal Reserve's next monetary policy move. For now, the Fed has kept in place both of its key crisis-era policies, or quantitative easing and a near-zero benchmark interest rate. However, an especially strong jobs report and faster-than-expected print on wage growth could justify an earlier-than-currently-telegraphed shift by the central bank.
\n
“For the first time in years, I’m actually worried about a too hot number causing some kind of volatility or pullback in stocks. That’s because the Fed has signaled they are looking to taper QE,\" Tom Essaye, Sevens Report Research founder, told Yahoo Finance. \"And if we get a really, really strong jobs number and a hot wage number, then markets are going to start to say gee, are they going to taper QE maybe before November, or are they going to taper it more intensely than we thought and in a market that's frankly been very calm and a little bit complacent, that could cause volatility.\"
\n
Still, the Fed has suggested it would not react rashly to single reports, and has given itself leeway to adjust the timeline of its monetary policy pivots as more data comes in.
\n
\"I think everyone's counting on the Fed continuing really for the foreseeable future. So I don't see any big changes there coming before 2023,\" Octavio Marenzi, CEO and founder of Opimas, told Yahoo Finance.\"And even then the Fed has hedged its bets very significantly — they've basically said we might in 2023 raise interest rates twice, but then again we might not. So I think the smart money is betting things are going to keep on going, they're going to carry on with a very accommodative monetary policy.\"
\n
Even with the recent strength for stocks, market strategists say that uncertainty about the future of the Fed’s asset purchases and the upcoming earnings season could keep stocks from making major gains in the near term.
\n
“The market is still very much concerned about the Fed’s reaction function,” said Max Gokhman, head of asset allocation at Pacific Life Fund Advisors, adding that he thought there was still a lot of slack in the labor market.
\n
4:01 p.m. ET: Stocks close higher, S&P 500 posts longest winning streak since August 2020
\n
Here's where markets closed out on Friday:
\n
\n

S&P 500 (^GSPC): +32.51 (+0.75%) to 4,352.45

\n

Dow (^DJI): +154.4 (+0.45%) to 34,787.93

\n

Nasdaq (^IXIC): +116.95 (+0.81%) to 14,639.33

\n
","source":"lsy1584348713084","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; So I think the smart money is betting things are going to keep on going, they're going to carry on with a very accommodative monetary policy.\"\nEven with the recent strength for stocks, market strategists say that uncertainty about the future of the Fed’s asset purchases and the upcoming earnings season could keep stocks from making major gains in the near term.\n“The market is still very much concerned about the Fed’s reaction function,” said Max Gokhman, head of asset allocation at Pacific Life Fund Advisors, adding that he thought there was still a lot of slack in the labor market.\n4:01 p.m. ET: Stocks close higher, S&P 500 posts longest winning streak since August 2020\nHere's where markets closed out on Friday:\n\nS&P 500 (^GSPC): +32.51 (+0.75%) to 4,352.45\nDow (^DJI): +154.4 (+0.45%) to 34,787.93\nNasdaq (^IXIC): +116.95 (+0.81%) to 14,639.33","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":357,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":128609092,"gmtCreate":1624512121416,"gmtModify":1703838916021,"author":{"id":"3578481885957953","authorId":"3578481885957953","name":"Berlin0420","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3578481885957953","authorIdStr":"3578481885957953"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Great..","listText":"Great..","text":"Great..","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/128609092","repostId":"1182818110","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":202,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":128600365,"gmtCreate":1624512083657,"gmtModify":1703838915026,"author":{"id":"3578481885957953","authorId":"3578481885957953","name":"Berlin0420","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3578481885957953","authorIdStr":"3578481885957953"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Great!","listText":"Great!","text":"Great!","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/128600365","repostId":"1112692945","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1112692945","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1624505055,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1112692945?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-24 11:24","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Tesla Bulls Race to Options Market As Shares Surge","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1112692945","media":"WSJ","summary":"A lurch higher in Tesla Inc. shares has triggered heavy trading in the options market, with bullish ","content":"
A lurch higher in Tesla Inc. shares has triggered heavy trading in the options market, with bullish calls outpacing bearish put options.
\n
More than a million call options had changed hands on Wednesday, compared to roughly 710,000 puts, according to Cboe Global Markets data. At these kinds of highs, investors should think about what stocks they should have in their portfolios if the market falls.
\n
Businesses that have lots of cash on the books and produce robust amounts of free cash flow tend to be safer stocks no matter the market environment. These are companies that can continue reinvesting in growth and/or pay dividends to deliver wealth-building returns for investors.
\n
These three growth stocks produce loads of cash and investors should keep the companies on their watch lists or even consider buying today.
\n

\n
\n
1. PayPal: 392 million users and a pile of cash
\n
PayPal Holdings (NASDAQ:PYPL) has built a ubiquitous payments platform with 392 million active accounts. That is more than double the account total from five years ago, setting up PayPal to generate loads of fees from its growing payment volume as users engage with their accounts for everyday transactions.
\n
Over the last four quarters, the company processed more than $1.03 trillion of payments. That earned PayPal roughly $22.9 billion in revenue and generated $5.3 billion in free cash flow.
\n
The reach and scale of PayPal's business have created a cash monster. PayPal ended the first quarter with $19 billion in cash and investments. After deducting long-term debt, it has a net cash position of $10.1 billion.
\n
With e-commerce still making up less than 15% of total U.S. retail sales, PayPal has plenty of room to grow into a much larger business over time, and that should keep the stock price moving higher over the long term.
\n
2. Amazon: A cash-rich tech juggernaut
\n
With more than 200 million Prime members, Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) is a major force in the $900 billion U.S. e-commerce market. Prime Day has become as big of a revenue producer as the holiday shopping season, and yet even after Amazon's tremendous growth over the last 25 years, it's still showing it can grow much larger.
\n
Businesses are eager to shift to digital services coming out of the pandemic, which spells more demand for Amazon's high-margin cloud services unit. This should translate to significant increases in Amazon's profitability over the next few years. While Amazon Web Services made up 11% of total revenue over the last four quarters, it continues to contribute around half of Amazon's total operating profit.
\n
Amazon ended the first quarter with $73 billion in cash and short-term investments. That's up 299% over the last five years, bringing trailing-12-month free cash flow to $26 billion through the first quarter.
\n
Analysts see Amazon's free cash flow per share nearly doubling over the next few years. Over the last year, capital spending more than doubled to $41 billion, which is all financed internally through Amazon's $67 billion in operating cash flow. Amazon is investing in several areas, including fulfillment centers, delivery fleets, and Amazon Air. The more cash that rolls in, the more Amazon can invest in big projects that will keep the business growing.
\n
3. Apple: $90 billion in free cash flow
\n
Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) started the year with 1.65 billion active devices, up from 1.5 billion in 2020, and 1.4 billion at the start of 2019. The prospects for further gains in active devices are looking bright, as reports have surfaced that Apple is raising its orders for the iPhone 13 by 20% to 90 million units.
\n
Further growth in active devices will lead to more subscriptions to its services like Apple Music, Apple TV+, Fitness+, and others. This is where Apple is starting to make some serious cash. Services generate roughly twice the gross profit margin as products and grew 25% year over year in the first half of fiscal 2021. At these kinds of highs, investors should think about what stocks they should have in their portfolios if the market falls.\nBusinesses that have lots of cash on the books and produce robust amounts of free cash flow tend to be safer stocks no matter the market environment. These are companies that can continue reinvesting in growth and/or pay dividends to deliver wealth-building returns for investors.\nThese three growth stocks produce loads of cash and investors should keep the companies on their watch lists or even consider buying today.\n\nImage source: Getty Images.\n1. PayPal: 392 million users and a pile of cash\nPayPal Holdings (NASDAQ:PYPL) has built a ubiquitous payments platform with 392 million active accounts. That is more than double the account total from five years ago, setting up PayPal to generate loads of fees from its growing payment volume as users engage with their accounts for everyday transactions.\nOver the last four quarters, the company processed more than $1.03 trillion of payments. That earned PayPal roughly $22.9 billion in revenue and generated $5.3 billion in free cash flow.\nThe reach and scale of PayPal's business have created a cash monster. PayPal ended the first quarter with $19 billion in cash and investments. After deducting long-term debt, it has a net cash position of $10.1 billion.\nWith e-commerce still making up less than 15% of total U.S. retail sales, PayPal has plenty of room to grow into a much larger business over time, and that should keep the stock price moving higher over the long term.\n2. Amazon: A cash-rich tech juggernaut\nWith more than 200 million Prime members, Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) is a major force in the $900 billion U.S. e-commerce market. Prime Day has become as big of a revenue producer as the holiday shopping season, and yet even after Amazon's tremendous growth over the last 25 years, it's still showing it can grow much larger.\nBusinesses are eager to shift to digital services coming out of the pandemic, which spells more demand for Amazon's high-margin cloud services unit. This should translate to significant increases in Amazon's profitability over the next few years. While Amazon Web Services made up 11% of total revenue over the last four quarters, it continues to contribute around half of Amazon's total operating profit.\nAmazon ended the first quarter with $73 billion in cash and short-term investments. That's up 299% over the last five years, bringing trailing-12-month free cash flow to $26 billion through the first quarter.\nAnalysts see Amazon's free cash flow per share nearly doubling over the next few years. Over the last year, capital spending more than doubled to $41 billion, which is all financed internally through Amazon's $67 billion in operating cash flow. Amazon is investing in several areas, including fulfillment centers, delivery fleets, and Amazon Air. The more cash that rolls in, the more Amazon can invest in big projects that will keep the business growing.\n3. Apple: $90 billion in free cash flow\nApple (NASDAQ:AAPL) started the year with 1.65 billion active devices, up from 1.5 billion in 2020, and 1.4 billion at the start of 2019. The prospects for further gains in active devices are looking bright, as reports have surfaced that Apple is raising its orders for the iPhone 13 by 20% to 90 million units.\nFurther growth in active devices will lead to more subscriptions to its services like Apple Music, Apple TV+, Fitness+, and others. This is where Apple is starting to make some serious cash. Services generate roughly twice the gross profit margin as products and grew 25% year over year in the first half of fiscal 2021. Apple recently added another service to its offering with podcast subscriptions.\nApple ended the most recent quarter with $204 billion in cash and investments sitting in the bank. Even as management works to achieve a balance of cash and debt on the balance sheet, it generated $90 billion in free cash flow over the last year, so it might take a while, and that's why investors should feel safe with this tech giant. It makes products people enjoy, and it produces plenty of cash to pay increasing dividends over time.\nExpectations are building for a strong iPhone launch this fall, as more customers are likely starting to get more interested in upgrading to a 5G phone, so now might be a good time to consider buying shares.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":311,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":155671635,"gmtCreate":1625431069927,"gmtModify":1703741515948,"author":{"id":"3578481885957953","authorId":"3578481885957953","name":"Berlin0420","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3578481885957953","authorIdStr":"3578481885957953"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Great..","listText":"Great..","text":"Great..","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/155671635","repostId":"1165340887","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1165340887","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1625257396,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1165340887?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-07-03 04:23","market":"us","language":"en","title":"U.S. stocks sweep to fresh highs after strong jobs report","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1165340887","media":"yahoo","summary":"Stocks rose Friday to record levels as investors digested a key print on the U.S. labor market recovery, which pointed to a faster pace of payroll gains than expected. The S&P 500 set another record high, kicking off the first sessions of the third quarter on a high note. The Nasdaq also hit all-time intraday and closing highs, and the Dow gained to set its first record high since May 7.
So I think the smart money is betting things are going to keep on going, they're going to carry on with a very accommodative monetary policy.\"\nEven with the recent strength for stocks, market strategists say that uncertainty about the future of the Fed’s asset purchases and the upcoming earnings season could keep stocks from making major gains in the near term.\n“The market is still very much concerned about the Fed’s reaction function,” said Max Gokhman, head of asset allocation at Pacific Life Fund Advisors, adding that he thought there was still a lot of slack in the labor market.\n4:01 p.m. ET: Stocks close higher, S&P 500 posts longest winning streak since August 2020\nHere's where markets closed out on Friday:\n\nS&P 500 (^GSPC): +32.51 (+0.75%) to 4,352.45\nDow (^DJI): +154.4 (+0.45%) to 34,787.93\nNasdaq (^IXIC): +116.95 (+0.81%) to 14,639.33","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":357,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":128609092,"gmtCreate":1624512121416,"gmtModify":1703838916021,"author":{"id":"3578481885957953","authorId":"3578481885957953","name":"Berlin0420","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3578481885957953","authorIdStr":"3578481885957953"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Great..","listText":"Great..","text":"Great..","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/128609092","repostId":"1182818110","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1182818110","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1624504323,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1182818110?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-24 11:12","market":"us","language":"en","title":"This Bull Is Far From Over: 3 Undervalued Blue Chip Dividend Buys","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1182818110","media":"seekingalpha","summary":"Summary\n\nThe Fed jolted investors last week, before Powell backpedalled to reassure everyone.\nThis s","content":"
Summary
\n
\n
The Fed jolted investors last week, before Powell backpedalled to reassure everyone.
\n
This shows just how difficult it will be for the Fed to actually rein in the economy.
\n
Some value names are once again on our \"buy list\". Here are three great ones.
\n
\n
Introduction
\n
On a recent Bloomberg video call, Ray Dalio suggested that the Fed will have a lot of trouble doing any rate hike without having significantly adverse effects on stocks.
\n
Following the Fed meeting last week, the news that rates might be raised in two years rather than three gave the markets a jolt, as the message was interpreted as hawkish by the investing community.
\n
This caused Jerome Powell to backpedal, reminding everyone of his favorite word: \"transitory\". It was important that he once again reminded everyone that inflation would head back to 2%, and that nobody needs to worry.
\n
He did cover his 6 however, stating:
\n
\n We have to be very humble about our ability to really try to draw a signal out of it [...] It might take some patience to really see what’s happening.\n
\n
\n Larry Summers had adifferent take on it: \n I don't think the arithmetic is terribly difficult.\n
\n
\n You're looking at an average GDP gap deficit to potential GDP of 2%, and we're looking at a 14% of GDP fiscal stimulus. [...] The important question is whether there is 6 points of transitory inflation or 2 points of transitory inflation.\n
\n
This idea is very important. Rather than asking whether inflation is transitory or not, we should be asking how much of it is transitory.
\n
And this is where the risk currently lies. While the S&P 500 (SPY) performed a roundtrip from 4250 to 4250 with a 90 point drop in between, a lot of the more cyclical stocks took a hit which put them back in our \"Buy List\".
\n
Our take is that the Fed is realizing that it can't really increase rates without causing ruckus in markets.
\n
When you add this to the fact that they might not have any choice but to keep printing money to buy bonds as the supply of bonds might overshoot the demand of these from foreign countries who already hold lots of US debt and show limited interest in purchasing the debt at negative real interest rates. This is according to Ray Dalio in the same call with Larry Summers mentioned above.
\n
The risk of monetary inflation is very real. The likelihood of demand to continue increasing dramatically as money stored in financial markets hits the economy is also very high.
\n
What we've learned in investing, is that investors are too eager to wrap up a trade and move on to the \"next thing\". Many times, this is shortsighted, as even when the train has left the station, there is a lot of track left ahead.
\n
This is one of these situations.
\n
Valuations in high quality blue chips which are sensitive to the economy reopening are still so far from pre-Covid levels.
\n
The fact that they are taking a breather doesn't detract from their ultimate destination, which is a lot higher.
\n
In this article I highlight 3 such stocks.
\n
Plus in the meantime you get to sleep well at night, knowing that they offer a great combination of dividend yield and dividend growth.
\n
Heads you win, tails you win more.
\n
IBM (IBM)
\n
While IBM has increased from our latest mention of it in a public article, when we were purchasing the stock at a 5%+ yield, it still hovers just below our target \"Buy Below\" price of $150, courtesy of a small pull back last week.
\n
Source: Dividend Freedom Tribe.
\n
Dividend growth has come to a stand still, and while we loaded up lower, it is still a great opportunity.
\n
The real value lies in the fact that investors are not pricing Krishna's operational excellence since taking over.
\n
IBM stunned investors with its Q1 results. Fellow author Virginia Backaitis states in her excellent articleanalyzing IBM'soperations:
\n
\n I like how Krishna is thinking, and I like former Red Hat CEO Jim Whitehurst at his side. They are making purchases that align with IBM's strategy which hasn't always been the case at the company. The product lines that IBM is selling off now are smart choices... and they have others left to sell (but maybe there isn't a buyer).\n
\n
This value will likely be realized following the spin-off of the legacy business into an entity which will benamed kyndryl.
\n
Investors will likely be left with a high yield managed infrastructure business, and a low yield high growth cloud stock.
\n
When it happens, we'll decide which of both we'll hold onto, but we're quite confident that the two pieces will be worth than the sum of the part.
\n
And while you wait for this, you still get paid 4.5% by a super safe Blue Chip stock, which has the pricing power to fight inflation.
\n
KeyCorp (KEY)
\n
One thing the last round of stress tests showed, was that US banks are resilient, and well capitalized. Yet last week they took a hit after the fed meeting. This week stress tests will be released, and most large banks are expected to do really well.
\n
After that, dividend increases will come in July as banks are eager to start returning wealth to shareholders.
\n
Keycorp is no exception. For an analysis of KEY's earnings development you can read Sheen Bay Research'sarticleon the stock.
\n
Where I differ from his opinion is on the question of the dividend. Each time the dividend increases, the inferred value ranges shown on the MAD chart goes up.
\n
In the past 10 years the dividend grew at 20% per annum, the rate dropped to 15% in the past 5 years, hindered by 0 growth last year.
\n
Source: Dividend Freedom Tribe.
\n
I believe that a 10-15% increase is very likely this year.
\n
In this event, KEY's current yield of 3.6% would effectively become a 4% yield.
\n
But to get fantastic income from KEY, you don't even need that much growth.
\n
At a 3.6% yield, if you can get 7.5% annual dividend growth you get a fantastic income opportunity.
\n
Let's look at a simulation.
\n
Let's suggest a $10K investment in KEY, with dividends reinvested and dividend growth of 7.5% per annum.
\n
In year 10, you'd expect $1,004 of income, or 10% of your original investment, which is our threshold for a \"great\" income opportunity.
\n
Source: Dividend Freedom Tribe.
\n
In our mind there is no way that KEY doesn't grow at this rate, which would suggest hitting its pre 2008 dividend in 10 years.
\n
As such we believe KEY to be a great pick for income investors. As KEY's dividend growth is on the back of growth in earnings and tangible book value per share, there is no doubt in our mind that sooner or later, the price will catch up with the higher income. The fed stress tests might be the catalyst banks need to move higher.
\n
In the meantime get paid to wait.
\n
Chevron (CVX)
\n
Chevron is another stock which is hovering just below our target \"Buy Below\" price.
\n
Source: Dividend Freedom Tribe.
\n
We're surprised that the oil trade is taking so long to play out.
