This group has seen plenty of wild price action already, with more ongoing.
\n
Now, most traders aren’t strangers to a good old-fashioned short squeeze. But the price movement in 2021 has been nothing short of breathtaking, making wild entertainment for armchair analysts.
\n
The novel coronavirus wreaked havoc on the economy, supply chains and to an extent, our stock market. But coming into 2021, the market had actually done quite well. It shrugged off a global pandemic and made it through a hostile presidential election. It didn’t even flinch during the early January drama in Washington, D.C., when rioters stormed the Capitol.
\n
All of that helped lead to the massive rally we saw later in the month and into February. High-growth stocks, SPACs, IPOs and these new Reddit stocks were all the rage.
\n
Call them what you will, but these stocks have the potential to go on torrid rallies. Some rally hundreds of percent, others can jump thousands of percent over the course of weeks or months. Conversely, many see large gains that evaporate within a few days.
\n
That price action has gone from one or two stocks and has now spilled into dozens of different names.AMC Entertainment(NYSE:AMC) has been the recent leader. Here are eight others that may try to lead as well.
\n
\n
GameStop(NYSE:GME)
\n
Bed Bath & Beyond(NASDAQ:BBBY)
\n
BlackBerry(NYSE:BB)
\n
Virgin Galactic(NYSE:SPCE)
\n
Wendy’s(NASDAQ:WEN)
\n
Rocket Companies(NYSE:RKT)
\n
ContextLogic(NASDAQ:WISH)
\n
Palantir(NYSE:PLTR)
\n
\n
These companies span industries, but the investing thesis is all the same: These names gain traction on online forums as traders hunt for the next candidate to go up 40%, 50% or more in a single session. Then we see all sorts of epic short-squeezes higher.
\n
GameStop (GME)
\n
Can we even talk about Reddit stocks without talking about GameStop? Shares are trading well lately, but they haven’t soared like some of these other names. That said, GameStop is roughly a $250 stock — not a single-digit or sub-$20 name, like many others on this list.
\n
The company just reported earnings, beating both top- and bottom-line expectations. However the reaction was pretty tough, with shares tumbling on the report. Given its size, it may be difficult for investors to bid GME stock significantly higher, particularly now that its short interest has dropped to a more reasonable level.
\n
Still, GameStop has been one of the leaders of this short-squeeze movement and that means it could take off at any time.
\n
The company’s chairman is Ryan Cohen, co-founder and former CEO of Chewy(NYSE:CHWY). He’s looking for a new CEO who can lead the company’s e-commerce strategy.
\n
The valuation is high, but good news could trigger more upside. Keep an eye on this one.
\n
Bed Bath & Beyond (BBBY)
\n
I actually nominated Bed Bath & Beyond as my pick for the Best Stock of 2021. However, I didn’t do it under the assumption that “Reddit traders” and “meme stocks” would become a thing. When I initially covered this stock, it was all about the company’s transformation.
\n
Okay fine… part of the thesiswasthe massive short interest in BBBY stock coming into 2021. Still, I didn’t think we’d see such epic short squeezes across the board.
\n
Bed Bath & Beyond still has about 65% of its float sold short, although that figure is smaller vs. shares outstanding. Still, the company has turned things around as it focuses on e-commerce and omni-channel solutions. That’s helping fuel BBBY’s free cash flow and earnings and has allowed management to initiate a rather large share repurchase plan.
\n
BlackBerry (BB)
\n
With its low price point and legion of loyal bull traders, BlackBerry has found its way onto the list of traders’ favorite short-squeeze stocks.
\n
Seriously, there are some dedicated investors in this name. Some have been waiting for years. Others are new to the party. But both groups — and everyone in between — are looking at the bullish potential with BB stock.
\n
While BlackBerry may not have its smartphone in every business-person’s pocket anymore thanks to Apple(NASDAQ:AAPL), it does have good software. It also has strong security.
\n
Interestingly, the automotive industry has become a big contributor to BlackBerry’s business, thanks to all the software, security and interconnectivity of today’s vehicles. Again, good news could create a nice pop in this one if the bulls maintain momentum.
\n
Virgin Galactic (SPCE)
\n
Virgin Galactic has been a short-squeeze favorite for a while now. It’s simply too juicy of a stocknotto trade when the environment is right. But let’s not miss Virgin for what it is — this is a speculative stock holding.
\n
The company doesn’t generate any meaningful revenue and currently operates at a loss due to development and operational overhead. Understandably, short-sellers like to lay into this one as a result. I mean, with no real revenue and an $8.5 billion market cap, who can blame them?
\n
However, when the short interest gets high (as it often does for SPCE stock), buyers can’t resist the urge to squeeze.
\n
Virgin hopes to become a space tourism company and is well on its way with its flight milestones. Additionally, it’s working with NASA on high-speed technology. The company recently filed for a shelf registration to sell up to $1 billion in stock, which only makes sense amid the current rally.
\n
While this would usually sap some of its momentum, a stock offering may trigger more upside in this crazy climate.
\n
Wendy’s (WEN)
\n
Wendy’s has suddenly found itself with a chair at the short-squeeze table. And honestly, this is a fascinating one for me.
\n
Shares were trading in relatively normal fashion and Wendy’s was never one of the big Reddit stocks back in January. But that didn’t stop the stock from surging more than 25% in a single day. This one is puzzling.
\n
Wendy’s stock doesn’t have a high short interest (less than 5%). It does have solid growth expectations, but that’s mostly due to a post-coronavirus rebound. However, revenue is forecast to grow 6.7% this year and 2.5% in 2022.
\n
Where all the hype is coming from, I’m not sure. But if the stock can hold up around $24 to $25, maybe it can retest its highs.
\n
Rocket Companies (RKT)
\n
Rocket Companies has taken the shorts to task before and I’m sure its investors would love nothing more than to do it again. That’s particularly true as shares fell 30% from the May high to the May low. And thatdoesn’tinclude the beatdown that Rocket Companies suffered from its first major squeeze higher in March.
\n
For the record, shares fell more than 60% from that peak to the May trough.
\n
Since then though, Rocket has found its footing. Unlike Wendy’s, this one does have a higher short interest, although at around 14%, it isn’t exactly high compared to previous Reddit stocks.
\n
But management has taken its own shots too. When the company reported earnings in February, it announced a special dividend of $1.11 per share. When holding short, short-sellers have to pay the per-share dividend out of their holdings. Further, the company announced a $1 billion buyback in November.
\n
ContextLogic (WISH)
\n
ContextLogic came public at the end of 2020 in mid-December. So I don’t know that I would classify it as one of the original Reddit stocks based on its rally in the first quarter. But the recent price action has “meme stock” written all over it.
\n
Its rally in Q1 did take ContextLogic north of $30. However, that was likely due to wider market trends, as growth stocks, SPACs, IPOs and other speculative holdings were surging higher.
\n
This time around though, WISH stock is clearly in focus. With a short interest over 15% and a cheap share price (it was near $7.50 a couple days ago), this one was ripe for some attention. It helps that the stock fell almost 80% from peak to trough.
\n
It also has solid growth estimates, with revenue expectations of 20% in each of the next three years. The company operates a global e-commerce platform that helps connect users to merchants, while providing various services to the latter.
\n
Palantir (PLTR)
\n
Palantir has somewhat fallen by the wayside lately. While the bulls still love the company’s long-term prospects and as the company continues to add more contracts, the stock price has struggled.
\n
Like Rocket, shares fell more than 62% from peak to trough, although that’s also counting from the stock’s short-squeeze fueled rally a few months ago. Since then, investors have seen a 40% rally from last month’s low.
\n
The analyst community is pretty optimistic on this one. They expect 35% revenue growth this year, then 28.5% growth in each of the next two years. That’s pretty darn good and helps justify that 23 times forward revenue valuation it currently commands.
\n
While it doesn’t have huge short interest at the moment, Palantir is a momentum favorite. If the other Reddit stocks are taking a break from the rally, this one may find itself as the next bid-up stock making headlines.
","source":"lsy1606302653667","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
8 Hot Reddit Stocks That Could Be the Next Big Meme
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n8 Hot Reddit Stocks That Could Be the Next Big Meme\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-15 09:43 GMT+8 InvestorPlace\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Reddit stocks possess the potential to go on huge rallies in a short amount of time\nSource: Mehaniq / Shutterstock.com\nMeme stocks, Reddit stocks — call them what you want, but they are back in action...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"WEN":"温蒂汉堡","GME":"游戏驿站","PLTR":"Palantir Technologies Inc.","WISH":"ContextLogic Inc.","SPCE":"维珍银河","RKT":"Rocket Companies","BB":"黑莓","BBBY":"3B家居"},"source_url":"https://investorplace.com/2021/06/8-hot-reddit-stocks-that-could-be-the-next-big-meme/","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1127219232","content_text":"Reddit stocks possess the potential to go on huge rallies in a short amount of time\nSource: Mehaniq / Shutterstock.com\nMeme stocks, Reddit stocks — call them what you want, but they are back in action. With a short interest over 15% and a cheap share price (it was near $7.50 a couple days ago), this one was ripe for some attention. It helps that the stock fell almost 80% from peak to trough.\nIt also has solid growth estimates, with revenue expectations of 20% in each of the next three years. The company operates a global e-commerce platform that helps connect users to merchants, while providing various services to the latter.\nPalantir (PLTR)\nPalantir has somewhat fallen by the wayside lately. While the bulls still love the company’s long-term prospects and as the company continues to add more contracts, the stock price has struggled.\nLike Rocket, shares fell more than 62% from peak to trough, although that’s also counting from the stock’s short-squeeze fueled rally a few months ago. Since then, investors have seen a 40% rally from last month’s low.\nThe analyst community is pretty optimistic on this one. They expect 35% revenue growth this year, then 28.5% growth in each of the next two years. That’s pretty darn good and helps justify that 23 times forward revenue valuation it currently commands.\nWhile it doesn’t have huge short interest at the moment, Palantir is a momentum favorite. If the other Reddit stocks are taking a break from the rally, this one may find itself as the next bid-up stock making headlines.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":594,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":110559343,"gmtCreate":1622471356982,"gmtModify":1704184886799,"author":{"id":"3579305701715904","authorId":"3579305701715904","name":"Kimobin","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/6a2da3e1b9852b8281d5a59c7ef4f0da","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Watching","listText":"Watching","text":"Watching","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":5,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/110559343","repostId":"1104481164","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1104481164","pubTimestamp":1622468928,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1104481164?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-05-31 21:48","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Three stocks to watch as a big annual biotech conference gets underway","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1104481164","media":"CNBC","summary":"The annual ASCO meeting begins at the end of the week, a conference that has often provided a tailwi","content":"
\n
The annual ASCO meeting begins at the end of the week, a conference that has often provided a tailwind for biotech and pharma names.\nBiotech has been a laggard this year, gaining big in February and ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n","source":"cnbc_highlight","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; Meacham said it is important but ASCO may not provide the pop to stocks it did in other years.\n“ASCO was by far and away the biggest medical conference of the year, and people looked forward to that. And you would have company presentations in front of 30,000 oncologists,” he said. “There would be hundreds of Wall Streeters. You could get a very good handle on what was the buzz of the meeting. SInce it’s virtual, it doesn’t have as much of its charm.”\nBut Meacham said ASCO could still be positive. “You have data that’s brand new and that could lead to approvals and some very good products,” he said.\nMeacham said he’s still positive on biotech despite its lackluster performance. He especially likes mid-cap biotech.\n“We’ve been pretty positive on the group. Recognizing that drug pricing has been a little bit of a cloud over the past couple of years, and 2021 is no different,” said Meacham. “But when you look at the pipeline, the midcap biotech pipeline looks fantastic.”\nThe pipeline in big pharma is got but not as robust. “For the most part, it’s singles and doubles. But not surprisingly, midcap biotech has some home run potential but with more risk. That’s what drives the industry - the innovation and new therapies - and that’s why we’re still positive.”\n\nThe IBB iShares NASDAQ Biotech ETF gained 0.4% last week, but it is up just 0.3% year-to-date. The widely followed IBB was down 1.7% for the month of May.\nMeacham identified three companies that could get a positive reception at the ASCO meeting. Bank of America has a buy rating on all of them. One of those is big pharma Bristol-Myers Squibb.\n“Bristol is probably one of the winners,” he said. The company’s anti-LAG-3 antibody relatlimab melanoma treatment has been in development and there will be data from a large phase 3 trial. He said the product was used with its Opdivo, and could have a better safety profile than the current treatment of Opdivo combined with Yervoy. He does expect Opdivo and Yervoy to maintain the lead share of the market going forward.\nBig cap biotech Amgen is presenting on its lung cancer drug Lumakras, which received Food and Drug Administration approval Friday. The drug was approved to treat lung cancer patients with a genetic mutation known as KRAS. The approval came sooner than expected and sent Amgen shares up more than 1.1% Friday.\nHe said it could be combined with other therapy, like Opdivo. “That two drug combination could be really profound,” he said.\nBiotech company Seagen is going to present on its Padcev treatment for bladder and kidney cancer, launched last year. “This is an update of existing data,” he said. The data shows patients live longer.\nThe study is a small phase 2 trial, but there is another larger phase 3 trial that combines the therapy with Merck’s Keytruda.\nOther companies with data to be presented at ASCO include Eli Lilly,Merck,Regeneron,Hookipa,AbbVie, and Gilead.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":63,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":116497347,"gmtCreate":1622814675389,"gmtModify":1704191739257,"author":{"id":"3579305701715904","authorId":"3579305701715904","name":"Kimobin","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/6a2da3e1b9852b8281d5a59c7ef4f0da","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":5,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/116497347","repostId":"2137130279","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2137130279","pubTimestamp":1622813852,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2137130279?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-06-04 21:37","market":"us","language":"en","title":"3 Great Stocks You Can Buy and Hold Forever","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2137130279","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"Grab a hold of these stocks and never let go.","content":"
Confused with the crypto craze? Air Products & Chemicals
\n
When looking for stocks to hold onto indefinitely, a good starting place is to look for industry leaders, and in the case of the production of industrial gases and related equipment, Air Products fits the bill. Operating in 50 countries, Air Products serves over 170,000 customers in more than 30 industries, and it's the largest publicly traded company specializing in chemicals. Size isn't everything, but it does count for something, and for Air Products, it suggests a formidable competitive advantage. What can drive the stock higher in the years (and even decades) to come? Aside from growing its presence in traditional markets like natural gas, the company's commanding position in the burgeoning hydrogen economy through projects like NEOM in Saudi Arabia certainly bodes well for investors.
\n
2. American States Water
\n
Comb through the ocean of stocks that are possible investments, and you'll find that that, oftentimes, it's the boring businesses that make for the best long-term holdings -- boring businesses like water utilities. No, you won't find American States Water rivaling SPACs and cryptocurrencies for headlines, but it's an indispensable business that will never go out of fashion.
\n
Although American States Water has a subsidiary that provides contracted water and wastewater services to the U.S. government, the majority of the company's revenue and earnings come from the company's two regulated businesses: Golden State Water Company, which provides water and wastewater services to about 262,000 customers in California, and Bear Valley Electric Service, an electric utility that serves about 25,000 customers. In 2020, for example, American States Water reported that the two regulated utilities accounted for 75% and 80% of revenue and net income, respectively.
\n
Aside from the nature of the business, American States Water's dividend provides further evidence why it's a worthy lifelong holding. Paying a dividend to shareholders in every year since 1931 and raising it every year for the past 66 consecutive years, American States Water is a dividend king, putting it in rarefied air among dividend payers. From 2010 through 2020, the company has increased its dividend at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.4%, and management seems intent on continuing to raise it at a significant clip for the foreseeable future. In a recent investor presentation, management stated that it's targeting a 7% CAGR in the future.
\n
3. Stanley Black & Decker
\n
While Air Products and American States Water aren't household names, Stanley Black & Decker may sound more familiar. Professional handymen and ordinary do-it-yourselfers alike can probably reach into their toolboxes and pull out something that bears the name of one of Stanley's brands such as Craftsman and DeWalt -- let alone the company's namesakes Stanley and Black & Decker. And it's not only American toolboxes where Stanley thrives; the company generated 40% of its revenue in 2020 from foreign markets.
\n
Besides the company's brand recognition, management's dedication to shareholders represents another reason why Stanley is worth buying and holding. Like American States Water, Stanley is a dividend king. It has returned cash to shareholders by way of a dividend for 144 consecutive years, and the company has raised it for the past 53 consecutive years. Looking ahead, management has targeted returning 50% of free cash flow to investors through dividends and share buybacks, while the other 50% will be used for acquisitions.
\n
Think Stanley's stock can help you build a better portfolio? If so, now seems like a good time to pick up shares. The stock is trading at 14.6 times operating cash flow, slightly less expensive than its five-year average multiple of 15. Consider the price tag from an earnings perspective and the bargain seems even sweeter. Currently, shares are changing hands at 21.3 times earnings, representing a discount to its five-year average P/E ratio of 23.7.
\n
Summing up stocks that'll help you sleep soundly
\n
Tossing and turning at night because you're afraid one of your volatile holdings may be ready to plunge and not recover? There's an easy solution: buy quality stocks that offer a high probability of long-term success. An industrial gas leader like Air Products and industrials powerhouse like Stanley Black & Decker certainly fit the bill, but if you're looking for even less risk, try dipping your toes in the water with a utility like American States Water.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
3 Great Stocks You Can Buy and Hold Forever
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n3 Great Stocks You Can Buy and Hold Forever\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-04 21:37 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Confused with the crypto craze? And it's not only American toolboxes where Stanley thrives; the company generated 40% of its revenue in 2020 from foreign markets.\nBesides the company's brand recognition, management's dedication to shareholders represents another reason why Stanley is worth buying and holding. Like American States Water, Stanley is a dividend king. It has returned cash to shareholders by way of a dividend for 144 consecutive years, and the company has raised it for the past 53 consecutive years. Looking ahead, management has targeted returning 50% of free cash flow to investors through dividends and share buybacks, while the other 50% will be used for acquisitions.\nThink Stanley's stock can help you build a better portfolio? If so, now seems like a good time to pick up shares. The stock is trading at 14.6 times operating cash flow, slightly less expensive than its five-year average multiple of 15. Consider the price tag from an earnings perspective and the bargain seems even sweeter. Currently, shares are changing hands at 21.3 times earnings, representing a discount to its five-year average P/E ratio of 23.7.\nSumming up stocks that'll help you sleep soundly\nTossing and turning at night because you're afraid one of your volatile holdings may be ready to plunge and not recover? There's an easy solution: buy quality stocks that offer a high probability of long-term success. An industrial gas leader like Air Products and industrials powerhouse like Stanley Black & Decker certainly fit the bill, but if you're looking for even less risk, try dipping your toes in the water with a utility like American States Water.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":210,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":192459154,"gmtCreate":1621224600378,"gmtModify":1704354217507,"author":{"id":"3579305701715904","authorId":"3579305701715904","name":"Kimobin","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/6a2da3e1b9852b8281d5a59c7ef4f0da","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Watching","listText":"Watching","text":"Watching","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":5,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/192459154","repostId":"2135984810","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":152,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":108491826,"gmtCreate":1620047583965,"gmtModify":1704337829994,"author":{"id":"3579305701715904","authorId":"3579305701715904","name":"Kimobin","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/6a2da3e1b9852b8281d5a59c7ef4f0da","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Watching","listText":"Watching","text":"Watching","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":5,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/108491826","repostId":"1135819410","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1135819410","pubTimestamp":1619999342,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1135819410?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-05-03 07:49","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Uber, Pfizer, PayPal, T-Mobile, ViacomCBS, General Motors, and Other Stocks for Investors to Watch This Week","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1135819410","media":"Barrons","summary":"It’s another packed week of earnings reports, with 130 S&P 500 companies on deck to release their fi","content":"
It’s another packed week of earnings reports, with 130 S&P 500 companies on deck to release their first-quarter results. AT&T: High dividends are calling

AT&T is a Dividend Aristocrat that has been a bargain this year, but it may not stay that way for long. The telecommunications giant has lagged the S&P 500 index and is up a little more than 5% over the past 12 months, but up more than 9% in 2021. The company has raised its dividend for 36 consecutive years and currently has a yield of 6.64%.

Revenue was a reported $43.9 billion in the first quarter of 2021, up 2.7% year over year. Net income grew to $7.9 billion, up 60% over the same period in 2020, and the company's free cash flow was listed as $5.9 billion, up 51% year over year. The dividend payout is safe, with a ratio of 63.5%.

All three segments of the company's business have seen growth. In communications, the company had 64.8 million postpaid phone subscribers, up 0.76% sequentially. Revenue was $28.1 billion, up 5.2% year over year. The WarnerMedia segment had revenue of $8.5 billion, up 9.8% year over year. The company's Latin America segment had $1.3 billion in revenue compared to $1.28 billion in the same quarter of 2020.

The biggest concern about AT&T is its debt. It has $160.6 billion in long-term debt, up 4% sequentially. Its annualized net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA is 3.13, compared to 2.63 last year. On the first-quarter earnings call, CFO Pascal Desroches said that the company plans to focus on paying down that debt this year.

2. W.P. Carey: A raise every quarter

W.P. Carey has seen its stock rise more than 24% over the past 12 months and more than 7% this year. The company's dividend offers a yield of 5.6%, with a twist: The company has raised its dividend for 79 consecutive quarters, including a bump from $1.046 to $1.048 per share in March. The diversified real estate investment trust (REIT) has 1,274 properties across 25 countries, including industrial, warehouse, retail, office, and self-storage properties.

The company has seen growth in adjusted funds from operations (AFFO) the past three quarters, though its fourth-quarter AFFO of $212.6 million is down 4% year over year. Its AFFO in 2020 was $4.74 per diluted share, down 5.2% from 2019. The company was pretty much unfazed by the pandemic -- its low came when it received 96% of contractual rent in May, but in the fourth quarter, that number was back up to 99%, followed by 98% in January.

It has not only raised its quarterly dividend for 23 consecutive years, but its AFFO payout ratio (trailing 12 months) is 88.19, conservative for a REIT.

Data by YCharts.

3. Sabra Healthcare: A growing trend that's hard to ignore

Sabra Healthcare, a REIT that specializes in medical facilities, cut its dividend last year from $0.45 to $0.30, and has yet to raise it again. But even with that trim, the yield on the company's dividend it 6.6%. The pandemic made for a challenging year for REITs that focus on nursing homes, and Sabra -- which owns nursing homes, senior living facilities, and specialty hospitals -- is continuing to deal with the headwinds. Many people are still reluctant to live in nursing homes, and in the fourth quarter, total occupancy dropped to 80.2%, down 8.6% year over year.

Other discouraging numbers: The company's AFFO per share for the year was $1.74, down from $2.08 the year before. And for the fourth quarter, the company issued bleak guidance of $0.38-$0.39 of AFFO per share, compared to $0.42 in the fourth quarter of 2020.

So why is Sabra worth watching? I think the paltry 4% rise in the company's stock this year presents an opportunity because the company's fundamentals are still strong. Sabra collected 99% of its rents from the beginning of the pandemic through February of 2021. As for the dividend, it is well covered with a payout ratio of 73% of normalized AFFO per share. The company also did a good job of lowering its debt, knocking down its net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA ratio from 5.7 to 4.9.

The long-term prognosis for nursing homes is still a growth trend, as our population continues to age. The pandemic reversed the growth of occupancy for nursing homes, but not forever. In the meantime, the company's dividend is a nice reward for waiting for a turnaround.

4. Williams Companies: A boon to investors

Williams Companies' stock is up more than 31% over the past 12 months, and more than 21% this year. The company's dividend, which offers a current yield of 6.73% is enticing. The company has raised its dividend the past five years.

The company delivers 30% of the country's natural gas through its more than 30,000 miles of pipelines. Last year was a difficult one for oil and gas companies, with oil and natural gas prices down, but Williams Companies still improved its numbers over 2019 by reducing capital expenditures. Its adjusted EBITDA of $5.1 million was up 2% year over year, while its adjusted funds from operations of $3.6 million were up 1% year over year. The company's cash dividend payout ratio, while still precariously high at 87.39%, is down from where it was in 2019.

The company raised its quarterly dividend 5.3% last year to $0.40 per share, and has already raised it 2.5% this year to $0.41 per share.

5: TFS Financial: Dividends you can bank on

TFS Financial, based in Cleveland, is a holding company whose subsidiaries make most of their money from offering mortgage loans, though they also have savings and checking accounts. The company's shares are up more than 10% this year and more than 37% over the past 12 months. Its dividend yields 5.73% with a cash dividend payout ratio (TTM) of 45.9%.

In 2020, TFS Financial reported annual revenue of $509 million, up only 1.9% year over year, but marking the sixth consecutive year it grew revenue. These stocks are worth looking over as they should provide ample total returns for patient investors.Image source: Getty Images.1. AT&T: High dividends are callingAT&T is a Dividend Aristocrat that has been a bargain this year, but it may not stay that way for long. The telecommunications giant has lagged the S&P 500 index and is up a little more than 5% over the past 12 months, but up more than 9% in 2021. The company has raised its dividend for 36 consecutive years and currently has a yield of 6.64%.Revenue was a reported $43.9 billion in the first quarter of 2021, up 2.7% year over year. Net income grew to $7.9 billion, up 60% over the same period in 2020, and the company's free cash flow was listed as $5.9 billion, up 51% year over year. The dividend payout is safe, with a ratio of 63.5%.All three segments of the company's business have seen growth. In communications, the company had 64.8 million postpaid phone subscribers, up 0.76% sequentially. Revenue was $28.1 billion, up 5.2% year over year. The WarnerMedia segment had revenue of $8.5 billion, up 9.8% year over year. The company's Latin America segment had $1.3 billion in revenue compared to $1.28 billion in the same quarter of 2020.The biggest concern about AT&T is its debt. It has $160.6 billion in long-term debt, up 4% sequentially. Its annualized net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA is 3.13, compared to 2.63 last year. On the first-quarter earnings call, CFO Pascal Desroches said that the company plans to focus on paying down that debt this year.2. W.P. Carey: A raise every quarterW.P. It has not only raised its quarterly dividend for 23 consecutive years, but its AFFO payout ratio (trailing 12 months) is 88.19, conservative for a REIT.Data by YCharts.3. Sabra Healthcare: A growing trend that's hard to ignoreSabra Healthcare, a REIT that specializes in medical facilities, cut its dividend last year from $0.45 to $0.30, and has yet to raise it again. But even with that trim, the yield on the company's dividend it 6.6%. The pandemic made for a challenging year for REITs that focus on nursing homes, and Sabra -- which owns nursing homes, senior living facilities, and specialty hospitals -- is continuing to deal with the headwinds. Many people are still reluctant to live in nursing homes, and in the fourth quarter, total occupancy dropped to 80.2%, down 8.6% year over year.Other discouraging numbers: The company's AFFO per share for the year was $1.74, down from $2.08 the year before. And for the fourth quarter, the company issued bleak guidance of $0.38-$0.39 of AFFO per share, compared to $0.42 in the fourth quarter of 2020.So why is Sabra worth watching? I think the paltry 4% rise in the company's stock this year presents an opportunity because the company's fundamentals are still strong. Sabra collected 99% of its rents from the beginning of the pandemic through February of 2021. As for the dividend, it is well covered with a payout ratio of 73% of normalized AFFO per share. The company also did a good job of lowering its debt, knocking down its net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA ratio from 5.7 to 4.9.The long-term prognosis for nursing homes is still a growth trend, as our population continues to age. The pandemic reversed the growth of occupancy for nursing homes, but not forever. In the meantime, the company's dividend is a nice reward for waiting for a turnaround.4. Williams Companies: A boon to investorsWilliams Companies' stock is up more than 31% over the past 12 months, and more than 21% this year. The company's cash dividend payout ratio, while still precariously high at 87.39%, is down from where it was in 2019.The company raised its quarterly dividend 5.3% last year to $0.40 per share, and has already raised it 2.5% this year to $0.41 per share.5: TFS Financial: Dividends you can bank onTFS Financial, based in Cleveland, is a holding company whose subsidiaries make most of their money from offering mortgage loans, though they also have savings and checking accounts. The company's shares are up more than 10% this year and more than 37% over the past 12 months. Its dividend yields 5.73% with a cash dividend payout ratio (TTM) of 45.9%.In 2020, TFS Financial reported annual revenue of $509 million, up only 1.9% year over year, but marking the sixth consecutive year it grew revenue. It also reported annual net income last year of $83 million, up 3.8% over 2019.The company has stressed its commitment to its dividend, which has climbed 300% over the past 10 years.Making the best of a good situationAll five of these stocks are worth watching because of their dividend growth and high yields. Image source: NIO.

NIO: A massive and growing market

As recently as early 2020, Shanghai-based NIO was flirting with bankruptcy. But a push by the Chinese government to accelerate the growth of that country's EV industry contributed to a strong surge in sales. The company more than doubled its vehicle deliveries in 2020 compared to 2019, though that still only amounted to about 44,000 electric cars. Its production growth rate is accelerating, however. In the first quarter of 2021, deliveries soared by more than 400% year over year to over 20,000.

EV sales in China surpassed 1 million in 2020, and the government's goal is to expand that annual number to 5 million by 2025. According to a forecast from sector research organization BloombergNEF, China's EV sales could reach 10 million by 2030, and approach 20 million by 2040.

The opportunity that degree of market growth represents hasn't been lost on investors. NIO stock is up more than 1,000% since its period of financial struggles a year ago. But its shares are also down by more than 40% from their recent peak. NIO's current $60 billion market capitalization is still pricing in an enormous amount of anticipated growth.

The automaker will begin selling its ET7 luxury sedan early next year, and it recently announced plans for a new production factory. Its unique battery-swap subscription service, and an agreement with Ford (NYSE:F) to allow Chinese Mach E buyers to use NIO's charging network, will also add to its revenue streams. It certainly won't happen overnight, but the stock has the potential to advance well beyond its current level if the company executes.

ChargePoint: A network of vital infrastructure

With more than 70% market share, ChargePoint is the North American leader in Level 2 charging networks, which use 240-volt power. ChargePoint is rapidly growing its charging station network in the U.S. and expanding in Europe. It expects sales of its charging ports to grow by seven times through 2026. Its comprehensive network of offerings also includes more than 2,000 publicly available fast charging stations. Its suite of products caters to the needs of EV fleet owners, parking operators, and consumers, as well as corporations and municipalities.

It began trading publicly recently through a merger with a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC). However, unlike many of the startups that have followed that path in the past year, ChargePoint is already bringing in significant revenue: $146 million in its fiscal 2021, which ended Jan. 31.

President Biden's proposed $2 trillion infrastructure package includes about $175 billion dedicated to the EV sector. This includes installing 500,000 charging stations and electrifying bus fleets and government vehicle fleets. But while ChargePoint supports the infrastructure bill, and would almost certainly be a beneficiary of its passage, the company doesn't need that catalyst for its charging network to grow rapidly.

Major automakers are on the verge of greatly expanding their EV offerings, and some, including Ford and Volvo Car Group, have committed to going virtually all-electric by 2030. General Motors (NYSE:GM) is targeting 2035. The need for much more EV charging infrastructure is clearly coming, and ChargePoint is in a prime position to supply it.

Nucor: New records on the horizon

Leading steelmaker Nucor released an unusual note to investors in early February, predicting it would deliver record quarterly earnings in the first quarter. It later followed that with guidance that it was likely to set another new record in the second quarter. Specifically, the company said: \"Nucor has elected to provide this update due to what it sees as an unusually large gap between its internal forecast and the current mean estimate for its first quarter earnings.\"

There are several factors driving that outperformance, with a confluence of pandemic-related supply-and-demand impacts resulting in significantly higher product pricing. In fact, the current prices of certain steel products are twice what they have averaged for most of the past seven years. Nucor will be one of the biggest beneficiaries of this as one of the top two low-cost steel producers in the U.S.

Shares of Nucor have gained about 45% since the initial alert in February, so much of what is known has been priced into the stock. It's also likely that steel pricing will moderate. Global supply is currently strained due to high demand, but eventually, the arrival of more supply from cheaper foreign producers will drive prices down, or else some users will more aggressively seek alternative materials.

But based on what Nucor has already told investors, there is still room for significant growth in the stock price. If management's current predictions materialize, Nucor will earn around $2 billion in the first half of 2021. Even if earnings are cut in half in the second half of the year, full-year net income of $3 billion would give it a forward price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of under 8. For a stable, dividend-paying company like Nucor, that would qualify as explosive short-term growth.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
3 Stocks That Offer Explosive Potential Gains
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n3 Stocks That Offer Explosive Potential Gains\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-04-21 19:55 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Investors looking for stocks with explosive growth potential sometimes seek out companies in sectors like biotech, where the outcomes can be almost binary. However, unlike many of the startups that have followed that path in the past year, ChargePoint is already bringing in significant revenue: $146 million in its fiscal 2021, which ended Jan. 31.President Biden's proposed $2 trillion infrastructure package includes about $175 billion dedicated to the EV sector. This includes installing 500,000 charging stations and electrifying bus fleets and government vehicle fleets. But while ChargePoint supports the infrastructure bill, and would almost certainly be a beneficiary of its passage, the company doesn't need that catalyst for its charging network to grow rapidly.Major automakers are on the verge of greatly expanding their EV offerings, and some, including Ford and Volvo Car Group, have committed to going virtually all-electric by 2030. General Motors (NYSE:GM) is targeting 2035. The need for much more EV charging infrastructure is clearly coming, and ChargePoint is in a prime position to supply it.Nucor: New records on the horizonLeading steelmaker Nucor released an unusual note to investors in early February, predicting it would deliver record quarterly earnings in the first quarter. It later followed that with guidance that it was likely to set another new record in the second quarter. Specifically, the company said: \"Nucor has elected to provide this update due to what it sees as an unusually large gap between its internal forecast and the current mean estimate for its first quarter earnings.\"There are several factors driving that outperformance, with a confluence of pandemic-related supply-and-demand impacts resulting in significantly higher product pricing. In fact, the current prices of certain steel products are twice what they have averaged for most of the past seven years. Nucor will be one of the biggest beneficiaries of this as one of the top two low-cost steel producers in the U.S.Shares of Nucor have gained about 45% since the initial alert in February, so much of what is known has been priced into the stock. For a stable, dividend-paying company like Nucor, that would qualify as explosive short-term growth.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":38,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9999260614,"gmtCreate":1660535003841,"gmtModify":1676533488619,"author":{"id":"3579305701715904","authorId":"3579305701715904","name":"Kimobin","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/6a2da3e1b9852b8281d5a59c7ef4f0da","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$YANGZIJIANG SHIPBLDG HLDGS LTD(BS6.SI)$<v-v data-views=\"1\"></v-v>bullish","listText":"$YANGZIJIANG SHIPBLDG HLDGS LTD(BS6.SI)$<v-v data-views=\"1\"></v-v>bullish","text":"$YANGZIJIANG SHIPBLDG HLDGS LTD(BS6.SI)$bullish","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":1,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9999260614","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":168,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":183840222,"gmtCreate":1623324287466,"gmtModify":1704200884632,"author":{"id":"3579305701715904","authorId":"3579305701715904","name":"Kimobin","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/6a2da3e1b9852b8281d5a59c7ef4f0da","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Good","listText":"Good","text":"Good","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":3,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/183840222","repostId":"1193863762","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1193863762","pubTimestamp":1623334800,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1193863762?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-06-10 22:20","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Global Semiconductor annual sales projected to increase 19.7% in 2021, 8.8% in 2022","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1193863762","media":"seekingalpha","summary":"(June 10) Semiconductor stocks rose in morning trading.\nRelated: Semiconductor Watchlist: Jim Cramer","content":"
(June 10) Semiconductor stocks rose in morning trading.
\n
Related: Semiconductor Watchlist: Jim Cramer Says to Own Nvidia, AMD and Broadcom
\n

\n
According to World Semiconductor Trade Statistics estimates, the global semiconductor market will rise from 6.8% in 2020 to 19.7% thisyear to ~$527B.
\n
The most significant growth contributors are Memory with 31.7%, followed by Sensors with 22.4% and, Analog with 21.7%. His stock picks include tech giants Apple Inc., Microsoft Corp., Facebook Inc., as well as discount stores operator Walmart Inc .

In his search for \"intrinsic value,\" Resendes says he is not after companies that appear cheap based on measures, such as price-to-book. Instead, Applied Finance makes projections about a company's profitability in part by treating research and development as an investment, rather than an expense, as done under traditional accounting rules, according to the co-founder.

U.S. stocks have been falling this week, with losses of the tech-laden Nasdaq Composite Index exceeding declines posted by the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average . But while many investors have grown concerned about stretched valuations in tech stocks, Resendes says his models show growth companies have begun to look attractive this year.

He now sees a \"tug of war\" of opportunities in growth versus value, but says Applied Finance doesn't have \"a dog in the race\" between the two investment styles. \"We're always looking for what the undervalued stocks are,\" he said.

Growth stocks have been trailing growth equities in 2021, a switch after outperforming for years.
