For example, several of the 100 most popular stocks on Robinhood -- a trading platform that caters to small investors -- are also favorites of analysts.
\n
However, there are certainly some differences of opinion. Some picks that retail investors think have great prospects are ones that analysts are decidedly bearish about. Here are two popular Robinhood stocks that Wall Street predicts will plunge more than 25%.
\n

\n
\n
BlackBerry
\n
BlackBerry (NYSE:BB) has ranked among the most popular stocks on Robinhood for quite awhile now. That's not surprising considering that the tech stock has almost doubled year to date.
\n
Wall Street analysts don't think so highly of BlackBerry, though. The consensus price target is nearly 40% lower than the current share price. Analysts appear to see limited near-term growth opportunities for the company.
\n
Are Robinhood (and Reddit) investors seeing something in BlackBerry that Wall Street is missing? Maybe so. The company isn't solely focused on smartphones, as it was in the past. It now also develops cybersecurity products and software used in vehicles' driver-assistance, instrument, and infotainment systems.
\n
BlackBerry's QNX operating system has scored wins with 23 of the top 25 electric vehicle original-equipment manufacturers in the world. The company is working with Amazon on the IVY cloud-connected platform that enables automakers to gather and use vehicle data.
\n
The company's SecuSUITE voice and text encryption is used by 18 governments. Its Jarvis security testing platform was named \"best in breed\" for protecting mission-critical software supply chains in an analysis conducted on behalf of the U.S. Department of Defense.
\n
Wall Street could be right about BlackBerry. But it just might be one of a handful of meme stocks that could still make investors rich over the long run.
\n
Senseonics Holdings
\n
Senseonics Holdings (NYSEMKT:SENS) isn't as popular with Robinhood investors as BlackBerry is. But the medical device maker still ranks in Robinhood's top 100. Its stock has also been a huge winner in 2021 with shares skyrocketing close to 270%.
\n
Wall Street appears to believe that Senseonics has gained too much too quickly. The average price target for the healthcare stock is 27% below the current share price.
\n
Senseonics markets the Eversense implantable continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) system for diabetics. The company recently reported promising results from a clinical study of this system, showing a confirmed detection rate of 93% for low blood sugar alerts with the device's primary sensor and 94% with its secondary sensor.
\n
Probably the main issue that analysts have with Senseonics right now is its valuation. Shares trade at a whopping 119 times sales. And the sales the company has generated so far are puny: only $2.85 million in the latest quarter.
\n
So why do Robinhood investors like Senseonics so much? They're likely confident about the company's prospects. For example, the Food and Drug Administration is reviewing Senseonics' filing for authorization of a version of Eversense with sensors that last for 180 days, which is twice as long as the current version of the device.
\n
Investors could also be upbeat about Senseonics' partnership with Ascensia. The large diabetes-care company took over full commercialization of Eversense in the U.S. market in April. Ascensia is also handling sales and marketing of the CGM in certain European markets. The company should be able to drive higher sales in a way that Senseonics couldn't do on its own.
\n
However, Senseonics expects sales in 2021 will only be in the range of $12 million to $15 million. That might not be enough growth to keep its valuation propped up at the current nosebleed levels.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
2 Robinhood Stocks Wall Street Predicts Will Plunge More Than 25%
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n2 Robinhood Stocks Wall Street Predicts Will Plunge More Than 25%\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-22 22:12 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Small investors and Wall Street analysts are on the same page quite a bit. On Thursday, they were among the market’s biggest losers.
\n
There’s a good reason for that. Banks generally make money by borrowing money short and lending it out long—andmaking a profit off the spread. When longer-term rates rise faster than shorter-term ones, bank margins generally get better, while the profits deteriorate when the opposite happens.
\n
After Wednesday’s meeting, the 10-year yield got a big bounce—it rose 0.071% to 1.569%—while thetwo-year yield rose0.038 percentage point to 0.203%, putting the spread between the two at 1.366 percentage points. That widening made the financial sector generally, and bank stocks specifically, one of the few sectors to react positively to the Fed’s announcement on Wednesday. TheSPDR S&P Bank ETF(KBE) rose 0.9%, whileJPMorgan Chase(JPM) rose 0.7%, even as theS&P 500fell 0.5%, theDow Jones Industrial Averagedropped 0.8%, and theNasdaq Compositedeclined 0.2%
\n
The market, however, has had a change of heart. The 10-year yield has fallen to 1.498%, while the two-year has risen to 0.238%, putting the gap at 1.26 percentage points. That so-called flattening of the yield curve is bad news for a rate-sensitive sector like banks. The SPDR S&P Bank ETF fell 4.5% on Thurdsay and 1% in premarket trading on Friday. JPMorgan dropped 2.9% on Thursday and is down about 1% on Friday. S&P 500 futures on Friday were down 0.6%, while Dow futures were down 0.8%. Futures for the Nasdaq Composite fell 0.4%.
\n
Why the about-face from the market? For yields to keep rising, the economy needs to show that it is recovering quickly. Otherwise, investors are going to bet on a repeat of the slow growth the U.S. experienced after the financial crisis of 2008. With jobless claims missing by a wide margin Thursday—and experiencing the first rise following six weeks of drops—the market decided to focus on the latter, not the former, says Evercore ISI strategist Dennis DeBusschere. “The risk to the economic outlook is the sharp turn to hawkish side, relative to what everyone previously thought, at the same time the labor market isn’t as strong as the Fed assumed,” he writes.
\n
Until that changes, it will be hard for bank stocks to bounce back.
","source":"lsy1601382232898","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Bank Stocks Were Fed Day Winners. On Thursday, they were among the market’s biggest losers.\nThere’s a good reason for that. Banks generally make money by borrowing money short and lending it out long—andmaking a profit off the spread. When longer-term rates rise faster than shorter-term ones, bank margins generally get better, while the profits deteriorate when the opposite happens.\nAfter Wednesday’s meeting, the 10-year yield got a big bounce—it rose 0.071% to 1.569%—while thetwo-year yield rose0.038 percentage point to 0.203%, putting the spread between the two at 1.366 percentage points. That widening made the financial sector generally, and bank stocks specifically, one of the few sectors to react positively to the Fed’s announcement on Wednesday. Futures for the Nasdaq Composite fell 0.4%.\nWhy the about-face from the market? For yields to keep rising, the economy needs to show that it is recovering quickly. Otherwise, investors are going to bet on a repeat of the slow growth the U.S. experienced after the financial crisis of 2008. With jobless claims missing by a wide margin Thursday—and experiencing the first rise following six weeks of drops—the market decided to focus on the latter, not the former, says Evercore ISI strategist Dennis DeBusschere. “The risk to the economic outlook is the sharp turn to hawkish side, relative to what everyone previously thought, at the same time the labor market isn’t as strong as the Fed assumed,” he writes.\nUntil that changes, it will be hard for bank stocks to bounce back.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":273,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":165123242,"gmtCreate":1624107988286,"gmtModify":1703828923040,"author":{"id":"3579768739436265","authorId":"3579768739436265","name":"Kriztineg","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3579768739436265","idStr":"3579768739436265"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Cool","listText":"Cool","text":"Cool","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/165123242","repostId":"1119296361","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1119296361","pubTimestamp":1624028454,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1119296361?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-18 23:00","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Bank Stocks Were Fed Day Winners. With jobless claims missing by a wide margin Thursday—and experiencing the first rise following six weeks of drops—the market decided to focus on the latter, not the former, says Evercore ISI strategist Dennis DeBusschere. “The risk to the economic outlook is the sharp turn to hawkish side, relative to what everyone previously thought, at the same time the labor market isn’t as strong as the Fed assumed,” he writes.\nUntil that changes, it will be hard for bank stocks to bounce back.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":273,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":165120578,"gmtCreate":1624107828194,"gmtModify":1703828920447,"author":{"id":"3579768739436265","authorId":"3579768739436265","name":"Kriztineg","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3579768739436265","authorIdStr":"3579768739436265"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Good","listText":"Good","text":"Good","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/165120578","repostId":"1192473918","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1192473918","pubTimestamp":1624029343,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1192473918?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-18 23:15","market":"us","language":"en","title":"PLTR Stock: The Palantir-FAA Deal News Should Have Investors Smiling Today","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1192473918","media":"investorplace","summary":"Palantir Technologies(NYSE:PLTR) stock is on the move Friday following news of a deal with the Feder","content":"
Palantir Technologies(NYSE:PLTR) stock is on the move Friday following news of a deal with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
\n
The goal of this deal is toassist the FAA in modernizing its ” objectives for aviation safety.”This will have Palantir Technologies providing the agency with a data analyzing tool to help with that effort.
\n
According to a news release, this will have Palantir Technologies monitoring various safety aspects for the FAA.
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Small investors and Wall Street analysts are on the same page quite a bit. With shipping containers scarce — or worse, more than double pre-pandemic prices — toymakers are faced with tough decisions ahead of the industry's most important sales season.\n\"We're not seeing any panic yet about the flow of holiday goods,\" said Jefferies analyst Stephanie Wissink.\nWissink noted that toy companies are just entering the ramp-up period of production for toys that ship in September and October for the holidays.\n\"If we see persistent constraints into late-summer, then we will start to worry a bit more,\" she said.\nCurrently, the industry is seeing delays of two-to-three weeks, Wissink said. This is consistent with a report from Davidson analyst Linda Bolton Weiser that was published Friday, although Weiser said delays could be as long as a month.\nWeiser told CNBC that the toy industry has faced shipping challenges in the past and persevered. She noted that several years ago, there was a workers strike at the Port of Los Angeles that threatened holiday sales.\n\"Toy stocks tanked, but [Christmas] went off without a hitch,\" she said. \"Toy companies were able to get their toys loaded on the tops of freighters and unloaded the fastest.\"\nWeiser said her most recent chat with Mattel a few days ago indicated that the company was \"still quite confident about their sales growth for the year.\"\nRepresentatives forHasbroandMatteldid not immediately respond to CNBC's request for comment.\nToy companies are keeping a careful eye on developments overseas, hoping that pressure on the ports will loosen as vaccinations are more widely distributed globally, outbreaks are more isolated and more air traffic routes reopen.\nFor now, toy companies have not passed on additional shipping costs to the customer, Wissink said. However, there is always a possibility that this could change if the shipping situation does not alleviate.\n\"We note that holiday purchases are very much oriented toward gifting so price sensitivity is somewhat less,\" she said. \"That said, consumers will notice if there's a dramatic increase in prices, but we don't expect that at this stage.\"\nBoth Mattel and Habro shares were recently trading down more than 1% on Friday. Mattel's stock has gained nearly 9% since January, putting its market value at $6.64 billion. Hasbro's stock is down 3% year to date, which puts its market value at $12.5 billion.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":413,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":162050227,"gmtCreate":1624028581969,"gmtModify":1703827116046,"author":{"id":"3579768739436265","authorId":"3579768739436265","name":"Kriztineg","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3579768739436265","authorIdStr":"3579768739436265"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/162050227","repostId":"1197466929","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":190,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":162024452,"gmtCreate":1624028527176,"gmtModify":1703827113290,"author":{"id":"3579768739436265","authorId":"3579768739436265","name":"Kriztineg","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3579768739436265","authorIdStr":"3579768739436265"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Tiger","listText":"Tiger","text":"Tiger","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/162024452","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":419,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
