Shares have jumped almost 8% for the week and are on pace for their best week since April.
\n
Investors, rightly so, are wondering what’s going on. We found four reasons, outlined below.
\n
Taking Cues From China
\n
Many electric-vehicle stocks have been on a winning streak lately, beyond just Tesla. Coming into the week, shares of Chinese EV maker NIO(NIO) were up 17% for the month.XPeng(XPEV) and Li Auto(LI) had gained 31% and 36%, respectively.
\n
Tesla, on the other hand, was down for the month of June coming into this week. But China is the world’s largest market for EVs, so when things are going well there, it bodes well for Tesla. It looks like some of the Chinese EV maker stocks’ shine has finally rubbed off on Tesla.
\n
Delivery Optimism
\n
The second reason is about second-quarter deliveries, after perceived weakness in Chinese delivery numbers. More recently, however, several reports have been popping up about Tesla working hard to deliver vehicles into the end of this month.
\n
“After a disaster start to the quarter for Tesla in China, the Street is reading the tea leaves as bullish for the month of June with momentum into [the second half],” Wedbush analyst Dan Ivestells Barron’s. He believes 900,000 deliveries is still possible for 2021. Wall Street is modeling about 825,000. Tesla delivered about 500,000 cars in 2020.
\n
Green Tidal Wave
\n
Ives has also written about a “green tidal wave” coming from the White House. President Joe Biden wants part of any infrastructure bill to include purchase incentives for EVs as well as charging infrastructure. A bill isn’t ready, but progress was made in Washington this week.
\n
Musk Tweeting, Again
\n
No search for the reason behind moves in Tesla stock would be complete without looking at CEO Elon Musk ‘s Twitter (TWTR) feed. He tweeted Friday that the updated full self-driving, or FSD, software and subscription pricing could roll out in as soon as a week.
\n
Tesla plans to offer its highest level of driver assistance, called full self-driving or FSD, on a subscription basis. Shares have jumped almost 8% for the week and are on pace for their best week since April.\nInvestors, rightly so, are wondering what’s going on. We found four reasons, outlined below.\nTaking Cues From China\nMany electric-vehicle stocks have been on a winning streak lately, beyond just Tesla. Coming into the week, shares of Chinese EV maker NIO(NIO) were up 17% for the month.XPeng(XPEV) and Li Auto(LI) had gained 31% and 36%, respectively.\nTesla, on the other hand, was down for the month of June coming into this week. But China is the world’s largest market for EVs, so when things are going well there, it bodes well for Tesla. It looks like some of the Chinese EV maker stocks’ shine has finally rubbed off on Tesla.\nDelivery Optimism\nThe second reason is about second-quarter deliveries, after perceived weakness in Chinese delivery numbers. More recently, however, several reports have been popping up about Tesla working hard to deliver vehicles into the end of this month.\n“After a disaster start to the quarter for Tesla in China, the Street is reading the tea leaves as bullish for the month of June with momentum into [the second half],” Wedbush analyst Dan Ivestells Barron’s. He believes 900,000 deliveries is still possible for 2021. Wall Street is modeling about 825,000. Tesla delivered about 500,000 cars in 2020.\nGreen Tidal Wave\nIves has also written about a “green tidal wave” coming from the White House. President Joe Biden wants part of any infrastructure bill to include purchase incentives for EVs as well as charging infrastructure. A bill isn’t ready, but progress was made in Washington this week.\nMusk Tweeting, Again\nNo search for the reason behind moves in Tesla stock would be complete without looking at CEO Elon Musk ‘s Twitter (TWTR) feed. He tweeted Friday that the updated full self-driving, or FSD, software and subscription pricing could roll out in as soon as a week.\nTesla plans to offer its highest level of driver assistance, called full self-driving or FSD, on a subscription basis. It’s a new era for car companies, which don’t typically get to realize recurring revenue like software providers. Bulls have been waiting quite some time for the FSD subscription to arrive.\nWhat’s Next\nNext up for Tesla investors, after any FSD release, will be second-quarter delivery numbers and then earnings. Those data points come in July.\nYear to date, Tesla stock is still down about 4.8%, trailing behind comparable gains of the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":212,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":122105330,"gmtCreate":1624601539620,"gmtModify":1703841474690,"author":{"id":"3581587307331467","authorId":"3581587307331467","name":"ppptt","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d531e151cf66e5f50cc683fb8684eb8f","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581587307331467","authorIdStr":"3581587307331467"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$AMD(AMD)$????","listText":"$AMD(AMD)$????","text":"$AMD(AMD)$????","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/f7a7984e36d9537235e4271b81fc857e","width":"1170","height":"2026"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/122105330","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":153,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":161031652,"gmtCreate":1623895869076,"gmtModify":1703822861686,"author":{"id":"3581587307331467","authorId":"3581587307331467","name":"ppptt","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d531e151cf66e5f50cc683fb8684eb8f","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581587307331467","authorIdStr":"3581587307331467"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"???","listText":"???","text":"???","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3159004446b3e8509ace5a39720bca3f","width":"1080","height":"2821"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/161031652","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":147,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":161039238,"gmtCreate":1623895803824,"gmtModify":1703822859414,"author":{"id":"3581587307331467","authorId":"3581587307331467","name":"ppptt","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d531e151cf66e5f50cc683fb8684eb8f","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581587307331467","authorIdStr":"3581587307331467"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"?","listText":"?","text":"?","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/161039238","repostId":"1134973227","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1134973227","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1623895707,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1134973227?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-17 10:08","market":"us","language":"en","title":"The Trade Desk Stock Split Is Imminent; Here's What Investors Need to Know","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1134973227","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"This marks the first time the programmatic advertiser has split its shares.","content":"
Shares of The Trade Desk(NASDAQ:TTD) are about to get a whole heck of a lot cheaper, but it isn't because the company is in any sort of trouble. In conjunction with its first-quarter financial results, the programmatic advertising specialist announced an upcoming stock split. In a press release announcing the move, management said that the \"goal of the split is to make The Trade Desk stock more accessible to our employees and a broader base of investors.\"
\n
There's certainly a lot of merit to that reasoning. Since The Trade Desk debuted on Sept. 21, 2016, at $28.75 a share, the stock has been on fire, climbing to roughly $592 as of this writing, gaining a massive 1,959%. Considering the high sticker price, the stock split will put shares within the reach of more individual investors who have less money to invest.
\n
The devil is in the details. Let's take a look at exactly what investors should expect, and whether or not this represents a buying opportunity.
\n
\n
Those pesky details
\n
On May 10, The Trade Desk said it would initiate a 10-for-1 split of its common stock in the form of a stock dividend . Shareholders of record as of June 9 will receive an additional nine shares of stock for every share owned on the record date. The new shares will be distributed after the market close on June 16. The stock will start trading on a split-adjusted basis when the market opens on June 17.
\n
Existing shareholders don't have to take any action to receive the additional shares. The stock will be deposited directly into their brokerage accounts once the split takes effect. It's important to remember that the new shares won't necessarily appear immediately after the market closes on June 16. The process for updating accounts varies from brokerage to brokerage, so it can take as long as several days for the new shares to make their appearance in investor accounts.
\n
To give some context to the numbers, here's an example of what it could look like. For each share of The Trade Desk stock that an investor holds -- currently worth roughly $592 -- post-split, shareholders would own a total of 10 shares priced at $59.20 each.
\n
Does this stock split make The Trade Desk a buy?
\n
Eagle-eyed investors will note that thetotal valueof their investment will not change since one share priced at $592 is worth the same as 10 shares priced at $59.20 each. A good analogy is buying a pizza and cutting it into slices. Whether you have one uncut pie, or the same pie sliced into 10 pieces, you still have the same amount of pizza. Similarly, The Trade Desk stockholders will simply have a larger number of lower-priced shares.
\n
Since the company announced the pending stock split, shareholders have cheered the news. In the five weeks since the announcement, the stock has climbed 20%, compared to a 1% gain for the S&P 500. It's important to note, however, that there were likely other factors at play. In fact, The Trade Desk had fallen as much as 45% since mid-February, as some investors seemed to focus solely on stocks they believed would benefit from the recovery, rotating away from high-growth tech stocks. The run-up since the split announcement was at least partly a result of a rebound.
\n
\n
Plenty of reasons to be optimistic
\n
The good news, however, is that there are plenty of reasons to invest in The Trade Desk that are not related to its stock split. This was plainly evident in the company's first-quarter financial report.
\n
Revenue of $220 million grew 37% year over year, an acceleration from its 33% growth in the prior year quarter. At the same time, adjusted earnings per share of $1.41 jumped 57%. The company boasted strong customer retention, which has remained above 95% every quarter going back seven years.
\n
There are other reasons to be optimistic. This week, The Trade Desk announced it has launched operations in India, which represents a significant growth opportunity. Consumers there spend as much as eight hours a day online, on average. This plays right into the company's ability to place the right digital ad in front of the right consumer at the right time. This also comes just ahead of The Trade Desk's biggest platform revamp ever.
\n
The trend toward programmatic advertising will only grow from here, and The Trade Desk is the industry leader. As such, investors shouldn't buy shares based on the stock split alone, but rather judge the company on its strong history of financial results and the long and potentially lucrative road ahead.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
The Trade Desk Stock Split Is Imminent; Here's What Investors Need to Know
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nThe Trade Desk Stock Split Is Imminent; Here's What Investors Need to Know\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-17 10:08 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Shares of The Trade Desk(NASDAQ:TTD) are about to get a whole heck of a lot cheaper, but it isn't because the company is in any sort of trouble. AT&T: High dividends are calling

AT&T is a Dividend Aristocrat that has been a bargain this year, but it may not stay that way for long. The telecommunications giant has lagged the S&P 500 index and is up a little more than 5% over the past 12 months, but up more than 9% in 2021. The company has raised its dividend for 36 consecutive years and currently has a yield of 6.64%.

Revenue was a reported $43.9 billion in the first quarter of 2021, up 2.7% year over year. Net income grew to $7.9 billion, up 60% over the same period in 2020, and the company's free cash flow was listed as $5.9 billion, up 51% year over year. The dividend payout is safe, with a ratio of 63.5%.

All three segments of the company's business have seen growth. In communications, the company had 64.8 million postpaid phone subscribers, up 0.76% sequentially. Revenue was $28.1 billion, up 5.2% year over year. The WarnerMedia segment had revenue of $8.5 billion, up 9.8% year over year. The company's Latin America segment had $1.3 billion in revenue compared to $1.28 billion in the same quarter of 2020.

The biggest concern about AT&T is its debt. It has $160.6 billion in long-term debt, up 4% sequentially. Its annualized net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA is 3.13, compared to 2.63 last year. On the first-quarter earnings call, CFO Pascal Desroches said that the company plans to focus on paying down that debt this year.

2. W.P. Carey: A raise every quarter

W.P. Carey has seen its stock rise more than 24% over the past 12 months and more than 7% this year. The company's dividend offers a yield of 5.6%, with a twist: The company has raised its dividend for 79 consecutive quarters, including a bump from $1.046 to $1.048 per share in March. The diversified real estate investment trust (REIT) has 1,274 properties across 25 countries, including industrial, warehouse, retail, office, and self-storage properties.

The company has seen growth in adjusted funds from operations (AFFO) the past three quarters, though its fourth-quarter AFFO of $212.6 million is down 4% year over year. Its AFFO in 2020 was $4.74 per diluted share, down 5.2% from 2019. The company was pretty much unfazed by the pandemic -- its low came when it received 96% of contractual rent in May, but in the fourth quarter, that number was back up to 99%, followed by 98% in January.

It has not only raised its quarterly dividend for 23 consecutive years, but its AFFO payout ratio (trailing 12 months) is 88.19, conservative for a REIT.

Data by YCharts.

3. Sabra Healthcare: A growing trend that's hard to ignore

Sabra Healthcare, a REIT that specializes in medical facilities, cut its dividend last year from $0.45 to $0.30, and has yet to raise it again. But even with that trim, the yield on the company's dividend it 6.6%. The pandemic made for a challenging year for REITs that focus on nursing homes, and Sabra -- which owns nursing homes, senior living facilities, and specialty hospitals -- is continuing to deal with the headwinds. Many people are still reluctant to live in nursing homes, and in the fourth quarter, total occupancy dropped to 80.2%, down 8.6% year over year.

Other discouraging numbers: The company's AFFO per share for the year was $1.74, down from $2.08 the year before. And for the fourth quarter, the company issued bleak guidance of $0.38-$0.39 of AFFO per share, compared to $0.42 in the fourth quarter of 2020.

So why is Sabra worth watching? I think the paltry 4% rise in the company's stock this year presents an opportunity because the company's fundamentals are still strong. Sabra collected 99% of its rents from the beginning of the pandemic through February of 2021. As for the dividend, it is well covered with a payout ratio of 73% of normalized AFFO per share. The company also did a good job of lowering its debt, knocking down its net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA ratio from 5.7 to 4.9.

The long-term prognosis for nursing homes is still a growth trend, as our population continues to age. The pandemic reversed the growth of occupancy for nursing homes, but not forever. In the meantime, the company's dividend is a nice reward for waiting for a turnaround.

4. Williams Companies: A boon to investors

Williams Companies' stock is up more than 31% over the past 12 months, and more than 21% this year. The company's dividend, which offers a current yield of 6.73% is enticing. The company has raised its dividend the past five years.

The company delivers 30% of the country's natural gas through its more than 30,000 miles of pipelines. Last year was a difficult one for oil and gas companies, with oil and natural gas prices down, but Williams Companies still improved its numbers over 2019 by reducing capital expenditures. Its adjusted EBITDA of $5.1 million was up 2% year over year, while its adjusted funds from operations of $3.6 million were up 1% year over year. The company's cash dividend payout ratio, while still precariously high at 87.39%, is down from where it was in 2019.

The company raised its quarterly dividend 5.3% last year to $0.40 per share, and has already raised it 2.5% this year to $0.41 per share.

5: TFS Financial: Dividends you can bank on

TFS Financial, based in Cleveland, is a holding company whose subsidiaries make most of their money from offering mortgage loans, though they also have savings and checking accounts. The company's shares are up more than 10% this year and more than 37% over the past 12 months. Its dividend yields 5.73% with a cash dividend payout ratio (TTM) of 45.9%.

In 2020, TFS Financial reported annual revenue of $509 million, up only 1.9% year over year, but marking the sixth consecutive year it grew revenue. It also reported annual net income last year of $83 million, up 3.8% over 2019.

The company has stressed its commitment to its dividend, which has climbed 300% over the past 10 years.

Making the best of a good situation

All five of these stocks are worth watching because of their dividend growth and high yields. However, of the quintet, W.P. Carey seems the most solid choice if you look at the company's track record of raising its dividend every quarter, the diversity of its real estate holdings, and the consistency of its cash situation.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
5 High-Yield Dividend Stocks to Watch
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n5 High-Yield Dividend Stocks to Watch\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-05-05 10:20 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
AT&T (NYSE:$(T)$), W.P. After market hours, it suffered an even steeper decline, plunging by over 17%.\nSo what\nFastly announced that CFO Adriel Lares is vacating his position. He will continue leading the company's finance team until a successor is appointed, after which he'll stay on during a transition period. The company said that it is conducting a search for Lares' replacement, and has hired an unnamed executive search firm to aid in the hunt.\nAs for the quarterly results, published after market hours, the first quarter saw thetech companylift its total revenue by 35% on a year-over-year basis to almost $85 million. But its adjusted net loss deepened to $14 million ($0.12 per share), from the first-quarter 2020 shortfall of $6 million.\nThe revenue improvement was due to higher customer counts and a modest improvement in client spending. Profitability was hurt by higher costs in sales/marketing and research and development.\nNow what\nWhile no investor likes when a company executive steps down, Lares' transition appears to be smooth, untroubled, and peaceful.\nFastly's first quarter is more of a concern, as the company missed the average analyst estimates on both the top and bottom lines. This compounds a wider investor trend of moving away from certain tech stocks in favor of titles seen as having more potential to gain from our emergence from the pandemic.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":196,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":105314761,"gmtCreate":1620269640453,"gmtModify":1704341106028,"author":{"id":"3581587307331467","authorId":"3581587307331467","name":"ppptt","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d531e151cf66e5f50cc683fb8684eb8f","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581587307331467","authorIdStr":"3581587307331467"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like pls","listText":"Like pls","text":"Like pls","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/105314761","repostId":"1150745267","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":92,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[{"author":{"id":"3576108908706138","authorId":"3576108908706138","name":"Mesh","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d4ef12e03b9e11be579123cb9d4208f9","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"idStr":"3576108908706138","authorIdStr":"3576108908706138"},"content":"Comment back and like n here","text":"Comment back and like n here","html":"Comment back and like n here"}],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":125280577,"gmtCreate":1624675005999,"gmtModify":1703843373064,"author":{"id":"3581587307331467","authorId":"3581587307331467","name":"ppptt","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d531e151cf66e5f50cc683fb8684eb8f","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581587307331467","authorIdStr":"3581587307331467"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"??","listText":"??","text":"??","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/125280577","repostId":"1100072036","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1100072036","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1624669285,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1100072036?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-26 09:01","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Tesla Stock Has Been on Fire This Week.
It’s a new era for car companies, which don’t typically get to realize recurring revenue like software providers. Bulls have been waiting quite some time for the FSD subscription to arrive.
\n
What’s Next
\n
Next up for Tesla investors, after any FSD release, will be second-quarter delivery numbers and then earnings. Those data points come in July.
\n
Year to date, Tesla stock is still down about 4.8%, trailing behind comparable gains of the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average.
","source":"lsy1601382232898","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Tesla Stock Has Been on Fire This Week. Conspicuously absent from Biden’s triad of huge reforms—theAmerican Rescue Plan, theAmerican Jobs Planand theAmerican Families Plan—is the health care reform Biden touted as a candidate. Every Democratic presidential candidate in 2020 had an aggressive health care plan, starting with “Medicare for all,” the Bernie Sanders-Elizabeth Warren effort to replace private health insurance with a government program. Biden pointedly rejected that, calling instead for a “public option” that would leave private insurance in place but offer a new government plan for those who couldn’t get decent coverage through an employer.
\n
There’s a glancing reference to Biden’s public option in the American Families Plan, but there’s no outline of how it would work—as there are for other top priorities—and Biden didn’t mention it in his April 28 address to Congress. Biden is detailing smaller measures: the American Rescue Plan, which Congress passed in March, containsnew health insurance subsidiesfor people who didn’tqualify under the Affordable Care Actbecause they made too much money. Those subsidies were temporary, and Biden wants to make them permanent as part of the families plan. That may help a couple million Americans get more affordable coverage.
\n
That would still fall far short of the “public option” Biden campaigned on, which would be a government program similar to Medicare for anybody looking for a better deal on insurance, with no age requirement. Anybody could buy into the government plan, which, in theory, would be able to offer competitive rates because of its sheer size. That would put the government plan in direct competition with private insurers, which could be good or bad, depending on your perspective. If the government offered lower rates, then private insurers would have to match them, a boon for consumers. But if people flooded into the government plan, it could destabilize the employer-based insurance system, which generally works, at least for big companies with buying power.
\n
Establishing a new government health care plan would be a combative undertaking Biden seems willing to put off for anther time. It could disrupt a large segment of the economy more than anything else in Biden’s plans. Bernie Sanders is pushing “Medicare for more” legislationthat would lower the Medicare eligibility age from 65 to 55, similar to Biden’s public option. But that’s unlikely to pass, given lack of enthusiasm among some Democrats, especially in the Senate. Biden might pursue a public option if Democrats maintain or expand their narrow majorities in both houses of Congress in the 2022 midterm elections (which will be tough).
\n
A second thing missing from Biden’s reform trifecta: any plan to remove the $10,000 cap on state and local tax deductions that went into effect with the Trump tax cut law in 2017. Unlike the public option, Biden never campaigned on restoring the full SALT deduction, as it’s known. But several Democrats from states hurt most by this new limit on tax deductions, such as New York and California, aredemanding a repeal of the limitas a condition of voting for Biden’s favored legislation.
\n
In late April, a senior White House official told reporters Biden wasn’t pushing for a SALT cap repeal because it would lower federal tax revenue at a time Biden was looking for new sources of revenue to spend on families and children. There’s also the political problem that repealing the SALT cap would mostly benefit high-income taxpayers. It’s possible Congress could include a repeal or partial repeal of the SALT cap in legislation that Biden would sign, as long as it contained other Biden priorities. One way to do it would be to restore the tax deductions but only for people with incomes below a threshold of, say, $400,000.
\n
A third priority Biden seems lukewarm on: Giving the government the legal power to negotiate prescriptiondrug priceswith manufacturers. Biden does mention this in his families plan, and in his speech to Congress he did call for letting Medicare negotiate directly with drugmakers, which it has never been allowed to do. But as with the public option, the White House has provided no detail of how Biden wants to lower drug prices, which is a likely tell: Biden supports the idea in principle but doesn’t want to get bogged down in that fight right now.
\n
In 2019, the Democratic Housepassed a bill to let Medicare force down drug prices, which is a likely template for legislation this year. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi haspromoted the legislation. Like the public option, however, this too would be a bloody legislative battle, against the politically powerful and lavishly funded pharmaceutical industry. Biden would probably sign legislation, if Congress could pass it. But Biden may also prefer to put off this battle until the second half of his presidential term—if Democrats can hold onto power in Congress.
\n
Biden still has a full agenda. His proposals for shifting the economy from carbon energy to renewables are complex and extremely ambitious. At the same time, he’s pushing for the biggest expansion of social welfare programs since Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society agenda of the 1960s. If Biden accomplishes half of what he’s after, it will be a transformational presidency. That should be enough for one year.
","source":"yahoofinance_sg","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
3 things missing from Biden’s extensive plans
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n3 things missing from Biden’s extensive plans\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-05-05 14:24 GMT+8 Yahoo Finance\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
3 things missing from Biden’s extensive plansRick Newman·Senior ColumnistTue, May 4, 2021, 11:42 PM·5 min read\nPresident Biden wants to change seemingly everything: the government’s role in the ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{},"source_url":"https://finance.yahoo.com/news/3-things-missing-from-bidens-extensive-plans-154230168.html?ncid=twitter_yfsocialtw_l1gbd0noiom","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1119680465","content_text":"3 things missing from Biden’s extensive plansRick Newman·Senior ColumnistTue, May 4, 2021, 11:42 PM·5 min read\nPresident Biden wants to change seemingly everything: the government’s role in the economy, the way we generate power and move around, the way parents take care of kids, the “caring economy.” Is there anything he’s leaving out?\nActually, yes. One way to do it would be to restore the tax deductions but only for people with incomes below a threshold of, say, $400,000.\nA third priority Biden seems lukewarm on: Giving the government the legal power to negotiate prescriptiondrug priceswith manufacturers. Biden does mention this in his families plan, and in his speech to Congress he did call for letting Medicare negotiate directly with drugmakers, which it has never been allowed to do. But as with the public option, the White House has provided no detail of how Biden wants to lower drug prices, which is a likely tell: Biden supports the idea in principle but doesn’t want to get bogged down in that fight right now.\nIn 2019, the Democratic Housepassed a bill to let Medicare force down drug prices, which is a likely template for legislation this year. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi haspromoted the legislation. Like the public option, however, this too would be a bloody legislative battle, against the politically powerful and lavishly funded pharmaceutical industry. Biden would probably sign legislation, if Congress could pass it. But Biden may also prefer to put off this battle until the second half of his presidential term—if Democrats can hold onto power in Congress.\nBiden still has a full agenda. His proposals for shifting the economy from carbon energy to renewables are complex and extremely ambitious. At the same time, he’s pushing for the biggest expansion of social welfare programs since Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society agenda of the 1960s. If Biden accomplishes half of what he’s after, it will be a transformational presidency. That should be enough for one year.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":149,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":119863418,"gmtCreate":1622536121634,"gmtModify":1704185819538,"author":{"id":"3581587307331467","authorId":"3581587307331467","name":"ppptt","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d531e151cf66e5f50cc683fb8684eb8f","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581587307331467","authorIdStr":"3581587307331467"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"???","listText":"???","text":"???","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/2a50ce5f480a2d89115ecc486bfd782e","width":"1080","height":"2821"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/119863418","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":257,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":137283944,"gmtCreate":1622350311188,"gmtModify":1704183353795,"author":{"id":"3581587307331467","authorId":"3581587307331467","name":"ppptt","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d531e151cf66e5f50cc683fb8684eb8f","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581587307331467","authorIdStr":"3581587307331467"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Apple(AAPL)$?????","listText":"$Apple(AAPL)$?????","text":"$Apple(AAPL)$?????","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/635149b0101f9a7b759ca4b857276c0c","width":"1080","height":"1920"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/137283944","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":215,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":106642809,"gmtCreate":1620116896401,"gmtModify":1704338874120,"author":{"id":"3581587307331467","authorId":"3581587307331467","name":"ppptt","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d531e151cf66e5f50cc683fb8684eb8f","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581587307331467","authorIdStr":"3581587307331467"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️","listText":"✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️","text":"✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/df53716cc6194724494ee064e677c7d2","width":"1080","height":"2730"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/106642809","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":56,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":174625436,"gmtCreate":1627096434225,"gmtModify":1703484199928,"author":{"id":"3581587307331467","authorId":"3581587307331467","name":"ppptt","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d531e151cf66e5f50cc683fb8684eb8f","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581587307331467","authorIdStr":"3581587307331467"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"?????","listText":"?????","text":"?????","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/fa4af42824b3a3e66cc6fb81ec6f35c9","width":"1125","height":"3525"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/174625436","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":584,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
