There are always going to be glitches, delays, and unforeseen issues that arise. It’s part of the process. So I’ve been reasonably patient in giving DWAC stock, Digital World Acquisition(NASDAQ:DWAC) and its Truth Social platform the benefit of the doubt.

But after a month, even the most optimistic investor’s patience has to be wearing thin. Truth Social shows little sign of getting back on the right track. And now, DWAC stock is starting to pay a heavy toll for this lackadaisical launch strategy.

Truth Social’s Buggy Launch

Digital World Acquisition is a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) that is purchasing former president Trump’s media company. The primary asset of that company, at least at launch, is going to be its Truth Social app which backers have positioned as a rival to Twitter(NYSE:TWTR).

However, the first part of being a good social media application is staying online and working properly. Say what you will about Twitter’s features or site moderation, but the site usually works from a technical perspective. Truth Social, by contrast, has not.

The app officially launched on February 21. A few days of bugs and glitches would have been no surprise. However, it launched with a waitlist of hundreds of thousands of users as many curious people were never able to get onto Truth Social in the first place. It’s hard to build much sustainable buzz when many prospective users can’t even visit to begin with.

Few Signs of Improvement

It’s now more than a month since Truth Social’s official launch. And its inability to deliver on the basic user experience has led to a sharp decline in interest.

According to data from Sensor Tower, weekly app installs for Truth Social have slid from 800,000 at launch to just 60,000 weekly now, amounting to a more than 90% drop-off. Overall, Sensor Tower estimates that only 1.2 million people have signed up for Truth Social so far in total. And the number of active users on the website is likely far lower, given the issues people had with signing up, and the sparsity of actual content on the site.

To that last point, it’s rather surprising that Mr. Trump himself has not posted anything on the site in more than a month of operation. A big appeal to the site was supposed to be having people like Trump speak their minds without having to worry about censorship on sites such as Twitter. But if popular leaders don’t user Truth Social much, it’s hard to see why other people would either.

DWAC Stock Is Too Risky to Buy Now

While it’s complicated to figure out Digital World Acquisition’s total share count given the variety of dilutive pieces of a SPAC deal, it appears the post-deal company will have a share count north of 200 million shares. That would put Truth Social’s valuation well above $10 billion at current stock price levels.

This is an awfully difficult valuation to support given the current state of the app. It’s been a mess on the hardware side of the equation. Basic features such as support for the Android operating system still aren’t available. And on the content side, it is lacking posts from key figures such as Mr. Trump that were supposed to propel the platform forward.

The user numbers should give any potential investor pause. Is a company with just 1.2 million downloads and surely less than that in active users worth $10 billion or more? Twitter, by contrast, has a market cap of around $30 billion and counts more than 200 million daily active users. And now, DWAC stock is starting to pay a heavy toll for this lackadaisical launch strategy.Truth Social’s Buggy LaunchDigital World Acquisition is a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) that is purchasing former president Trump’s media company. The primary asset of that company, at least at launch, is going to be its Truth Social app which backers have positioned as a rival to Twitter(NYSE:TWTR).However, the first part of being a good social media application is staying online and working properly. Say what you will about Twitter’s features or site moderation, but the site usually works from a technical perspective. Truth Social, by contrast, has not.The app officially launched on February 21. A few days of bugs and glitches would have been no surprise. However, it launched with a waitlist of hundreds of thousands of users as many curious people were never able to get onto Truth Social in the first place. It’s hard to build much sustainable buzz when many prospective users can’t even visit to begin with.Few Signs of ImprovementIt’s now more than a month since Truth Social’s official launch. And its inability to deliver on the basic user experience has led to a sharp decline in interest.According to data from Sensor Tower, weekly app installs for Truth Social have slid from 800,000 at launch to just 60,000 weekly now, amounting to a more than 90% drop-off. Overall, Sensor Tower estimates that only 1.2 million people have signed up for Truth Social so far in total. And the number of active users on the website is likely far lower, given the issues people had with signing up, and the sparsity of actual content on the site.To that last point, it’s rather surprising that Mr. Trump himself has not posted anything on the site in more than a month of operation. A big appeal to the site was supposed to be having people like Trump speak their minds without having to worry about censorship on sites such as Twitter. But if popular leaders don’t user Truth Social much, it’s hard to see why other people would either.DWAC Stock Is Too Risky to Buy NowWhile it’s complicated to figure out Digital World Acquisition’s total share count given the variety of dilutive pieces of a SPAC deal, it appears the post-deal company will have a share count north of 200 million shares. One of those valuations is in a different galaxy than the other. It’s possible that Truth Social will get its app working perfectly and the users will start to arrive in large quantities. That could change the discussion around DWAC stock entirely. Until there are signs of a turnaround, however, the stock should be avoided.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":485,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9002222001,"gmtCreate":1642030953888,"gmtModify":1676533672942,"author":{"id":"3581899555657151","authorId":"3581899555657151","name":"joeojy","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/652f4eb2f9ab091289459e7fce79f880","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581899555657151","authorIdStr":"3581899555657151"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"o","listText":"o","text":"o","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9002222001","repostId":"1190696876","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1190696876","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1642028546,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1190696876?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-01-13 07:02","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Wall Street Closes Higher as Inflation Data Supports Fed Bets","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1190696876","media":"StreetInsider","summary":"U.S. stock indexes rose on Wednesday after data showed that while U.S. inflation was at its highest ","content":"

U.S. stock indexes rose on Wednesday after data showed that while U.S. inflation was at its highest in decades, it largely met economists' expectations, cooling some fears that the Federal Reserve would have to pull back support even more forcibly than already expected.

Ten out of the 11 major S&P sectors finished higher after the news with the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq outperforming the Dow as growth stocks outperformed value.

Data from the Labor Department showed the consumer price index (CPI) increased 0.5% last month after rising 0.8% in November, while in the 12 months through December, the CPI surged 7.0% to its highest year-on-year rise in nearly four decades.

Economists polled by Reuters had forecast a CPI gain of 0.4% for December and 7.0% on a year-on-year basis.

"Investors were bracing for even hotter in inflation than what we actually saw. The bank’s analysts picked European stocks set to benefit from new business models such as marketplaces that help them access “vast” numbers of new customers overnight, calling such firms “pioneers” in the space.\nThe coronavirus pandemic sped up the shift toward online fashion shopping which BofA predicts will continue, and its analysts like retailers that can offer a combination of own-label brands, third-party labels and e-commerce solutions they can sell to other companies.\nThey prefer stocks that have marketplaces that don’t hold inventory but take fees when goods are sold (similar toAmazon), over wholesalers that do own third-party goods that they sell on to shoppers, according to a research note titled “European Online Retail: The New Era,” published Tuesday.\n“Marketplace models are still at an early stage, and although their profitability is continuously improving as they scale, they are still quite low at the moment,” the analysts led by Geoffroy de Mendez said. But those who can embrace such models are likely to become “winners,” BofA added.\n“We are seeing online apparel players actively evolving to find new levers of growth in a post-pandemic world. This goes through changes in business model, but also entry into new categories and M&A [mergers and acquisitions],” the analysts said. BofA said the changes would happen quickly, affecting “earnings power” and creating “long-term leaders.”\nThe analysts’ buy-rated stocks are:\nBritish-Portuguese firmFarfetch, which “ticks all the boxes” with its marketplace model, own brands and e-commerce solutions for other firms. “The partnership with Alibaba could help Farfetch grow in China,” the analysts added, referring to a deal that saw the Chinese companyinvest $1.1 billion into Farfetchwith luxury group Richemont in November. The stock has a potential upside of 50%, BofA estimated.\nBoohoois a pick for its “fast growth, exposure to reopening and Debenhams acquisition,” according to the analysts, referring to its purchase of a British department store’s name and website in January.\n“We believe boohoo shares are set to experience a significant rerating as the operating performance continues [to] do well and the concerns over ESG [environmental, social and governance factors] and supply chain fade,” BofA stated. Boohoo stopped using some suppliers in March after an investigation into poor working conditions by British newspaper The Sunday Times. The stock has a potential upside of 47%, the bank said.\nGerman e-commerce firmZalandohas a potential upside of 36%, according to BofA, which described it as “the best player in the European online apparel landscape.” “Its wholesale business is now much bigger than the competition, but more importantly, we believe Zalando’s move into the marketplace model is a strong success, will help the group outperform peers in the future,” the analysts wrote.\nThe Hut Group is also a pick for Bank of America. The British firm owns and operates brands and websites such as beauty site Lookfantastic, skincare firm Espa as well as hotels — where it also sells its products. BofA said the firm “will be a key enabler” of a shift to online sales with its mix of own brands, wholesale and e-commerce solutions for other companies.\n“We think this is only the beginning and leading players such as Zalando or Farfetch are already offering additional services like fulfilment, data or marketing — building strong (and profitable) ties with brands and retailers,” the analysts stated.\nThe analysts estimated the online apparel and footwear market was worth 301 billion euros ($356) in 2019 and estimated it would grow with a compound annual growth rate of 13% to reach 701 billion euros in 2025.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":568,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":128222706,"gmtCreate":1624519843505,"gmtModify":1703839149154,"author":{"id":"3581899555657151","authorId":"3581899555657151","name":"joeojy","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/652f4eb2f9ab091289459e7fce79f880","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581899555657151","authorIdStr":"3581899555657151"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"??♀️??♀️??♀️","listText":"??♀️??♀️??♀️","text":"??♀️??♀️??♀️","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":3,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/128222706","repostId":"1136393082","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":594,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":167256711,"gmtCreate":1624273121333,"gmtModify":1703832103361,"author":{"id":"3581899555657151","authorId":"3581899555657151","name":"joeojy","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/652f4eb2f9ab091289459e7fce79f880","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581899555657151","authorIdStr":"3581899555657151"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"??????","listText":"??????","text":"??????","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/167256711","repostId":"1186693886","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1186693886","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1624271822,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1186693886?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-21 18:37","market":"us","language":"en","title":"FedEx Reports Earnings on Thursday. That's understandable, with several of them delivering triple-digit and even four-digit percentage gains.
\n
However, what goes up can come down. Analysts don't expect the online frenzy fueling the ginormous jumps for some of the most popular stocks will be sustainable. Here are three meme stocks that Wall Street thinks will plunge by more than 20% within the next 12 months.
\n
AMC Entertainment
\n
AMC Entertainment(NYSE:AMC)ranks as the best-performing meme stock of all. Shares of the movie theater operator have skyrocketed close to 2,500% year to date.
\n
The consensus among analysts, though, is that the stock could lose 90% of its current value. Even the most optimistic analyst surveyed by Refinitiv has a price target for AMC that's more than 70% below the current share price.
\n
But isn't AMC's business picking up? Yep. The easing of restrictions has enabled the company to reopen 99% of its U.S. theaters. AMC could benefit as seating capacity limitations imposed by state and local governments are raised. Thereleases of multiple movies this summerand later this year that are likely to be hits should also help.
\n
However, Wall Street clearly believes that AMC's share price has gotten way ahead of its business prospects. The stock is trading at nearly eight times higher than it was before the COVID-19 pandemic.
\n
Clover Health Investments
\n
Only a few days ago, it looked like Clover Health Investments(NASDAQ:CLOV)might push AMC to the side as the hottest meme stock. Retail investors viewed Clover as a primeshort squeezecandidate.
\n
Since the beginning of June, shares of Clover Health have jumped more than 65%. Analysts, however, don't expect those gains to last. The average price target for the stock is 25% below the current share price.
\n
Clover Health's valuation does seem to have gotten out of hand. The healthcare stock currently trades at more than 170 times trailing-12-month sales. That's a nosebleed level, especially considering that the company is the subject of investigations by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission.
\n
Still, Clover Health could deliver improving financial results this year. The company hopes to significantly increase its membership by targeting the original Medicare program. This represents a major new market opportunity in addition to its current Medicare Advantage business.
\n
Sundial Growers
\n
At one point earlier this year, Sundial Growers(NASDAQ:SNDL)appeared to be a legitimate contender to become the biggest winner among meme stocks. The Canadian marijuana stock vaulted more than 520% higher year to date before giving up much of its gains. However, Sundial's share price has still more than doubled in 2021.
\n
Analysts anticipate that the pot stock could fall even further. The consensus price target for Sundial reflects a 23% discount to its current share price. One analyst even thinks the stock could sink 55%.
\n
There certainly are reasons to be pessimistic about Sundial's core cannabis business. The company's net cannabis revenue fell year over year in the first quarter of 2021. Although Sundial is taking steps that it hopes will turn things around, it remains to be seen if those efforts will succeed.
\n
Sundial's business deals could give investors reasons for optimism. After all, the company posted positive adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) in Q1 due to its investments.
\n
However, the cash that Sundial is using to make these investments has come at the cost of increased dilution of its stock. The company can't afford any additional dilution without having to resort to desperate measures to keep its listing on the Nasdaq stock exchange.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
3 Meme Stocks Wall Street Predicts Will Plunge More Than 20%
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n3 Meme Stocks Wall Street Predicts Will Plunge More Than 20%\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-19 09:13 GMT+8 fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Meme stocks have been all the rage so far this year. The company can't afford any additional dilution without having to resort to desperate measures to keep its listing on the Nasdaq stock exchange.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":447,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":165090326,"gmtCreate":1624079023865,"gmtModify":1703828427585,"author":{"id":"3581899555657151","authorId":"3581899555657151","name":"joeojy","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/652f4eb2f9ab091289459e7fce79f880","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581899555657151","authorIdStr":"3581899555657151"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"??","listText":"??","text":"??","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/165090326","repostId":"1156696708","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1156696708","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1624063306,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1156696708?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-19 08:41","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Dow falls more than 500 points to close out its worst week since October","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1156696708","media":"cnbc","summary":"Stocks fell on Friday, with theDow Jones Industrial Averageposting its worst weekly loss since Octob","content":"
\n
Stocks fell on Friday, with theDow Jones Industrial Averageposting its worst weekly loss since October, as traders worried the Federal Reserve could start raising rates sooner than expected.\nThe blue-...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n","source":"cnbc_highlight","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; TheS&P 500slid 1.3% to 4,166.45. Both the Dow and S&P 500 hit their session lows in the final minutes of trading and closed around those levels. TheNasdaq Compositeclosed 0.9% lower at 14,030.38. Economic comeback plays led the market losses.\nFor the week, the 30-stock Dow lost 3.5%. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq were down by 1.9% and 0.2%, respectively, week to date.\nSt. Louis Federal Reserve President Jim Bullardtold CNBC's \"Squawk Box\"on Friday it was natural for the Fed to tilt a little \"hawkish\" this week and that the first rate increase from the central bank would likely come in 2022. His comments came after the Fed on Wednesday added two rate hikes to its 2023 forecast and increased its inflation projection for the year, putting pressure on stock prices.\n\"The fear held by some investors is that if the Fed tightens policy sooner than expected to help cool inflationary pressures, this could weigh on future economic growth,\" Truist Advisory Services chief market strategist Keith Lerner said in a note. To be sure, he added it would be premature to give up on the so-called value trade right now.\nPockets of the market most sensitive to the economic rebound led the sell-off this week. The S&P 500 energy sector and industrials dropped 5.2% and 3.8%, respectively, for the week. Financials and materials meanwhile, lost more than 6% each. These groups had been market leaders this year on the back of the economic reopening.\nThe decline in stocks came as the Fed's actions caused a drastic flattening of the so-called Treasury yield curve. This means the yields of shorter-duration Treasurys — like the 2-year note — rose while longer-duration yields like the benchmark 10-year declined. The retreat in long-dated bond yields reflects less optimism toward economic growth, while the jump in short-end yields shows the expectations of the Fed raising rates.\nThis phenomenon hurt bank stocks particularly as their earnings could take a hit when the spread between short-term and long-term rates narrows. Bank of America and JPMorgan Chase shares on Friday lost more than 2% each. Citigroup fell by 1.8%, posting its 12th straight daily decline.\nFed Chairman Jerome Powell said Wednesday that officials have discussed tapering bond buying and would at some point begin slowing the asset purchases.\n\"This week's first whiff of an eventual change in Fed policy was a reminder that emergency monetary conditions and the free-money era will ultimately end,\" strategists at MRB Partners wrote in a note. \"We expect a series of incremental retreats from the Fed's benign inflation outlook in the coming months.\"\nCommodity prices were underpressure this weekas China attempted to cool rising prices and as the U.S. dollar strengthens. Copper, gold and platinum fell once again on Friday.\nFriday also coincided with the quarterly \"quadruple witching\" in which options and futures on indexes and equities expire. This event may have contributed to more volatile trading during the session.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":263,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"hots":[{"id":128222706,"gmtCreate":1624519843505,"gmtModify":1703839149154,"author":{"id":"3581899555657151","authorId":"3581899555657151","name":"joeojy","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/652f4eb2f9ab091289459e7fce79f880","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581899555657151","authorIdStr":"3581899555657151"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"??♀️??♀️??♀️","listText":"??♀️??♀️??♀️","text":"??♀️??♀️??♀️","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":3,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/128222706","repostId":"1136393082","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1136393082","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1624519182,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1136393082?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-24 15:19","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Why Tesla Stock Jumped on Wednesday","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1136393082","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"Is a rebound in Bitcoin on Wednesday impacting the electric-car maker's stock?\n\nWhat happened\nShares","content":"
\n Is a rebound in Bitcoin on Wednesday impacting the electric-car maker's stock?\n
\n
What happened
\n
Shares of electric-car maker Tesla(NASDAQ:TSLA) rose sharply on Wednesday. The stock is currently up 18% on the day.Despite the mixed bag that Meta’s earnings presented, there’s still quite a bit of reason to like Meta. I’m bullish on Meta, thanks to the sheer potential of what it represents and how it may be ready to go well beyond Facebook itself. The last 12 months for Meta share trading showed that it needed a win, and boy did it get one. While spending most of 2021 in the $300-$350 range with some breakout points, an outright collapse kicked off in February. That plunge saw Meta go from a little over $320 on February 1 to just under $170 on April 27.The latest news lit a fire under investors, as the company presented a mixed bag of earnings news. The company turned in $2.72 per share in earnings, which handily beat the $2.56 per share expected by a Refinitiv consensus. The bad news came with revenue, oddly enough, as the $27.91 billion Meta posted proved just shy of the Refinitiv consensus that looked for $28.2 billion in revenue.Wall Street’s TakeTurning to Wall Street, Meta Platforms has a Moderate Buy consensus rating. That’s based on 28 Buys, eight Holds, and one Sell assigned in the past three months. The average Meta Platforms price target of $304.29 implies 47% upside potential.Analyst price targets range from a low of $212 per share to a high of $466 per share.Investor Sentiment Mostly in DeclineInvestor sentiment, however, seems to be turning against Meta Platforms. The biggest indicator against Meta right now is clearly insider trading. Insider transactions have been heavily weighted to the sell side for the last year. The last three months have been a moderate improvement but are still heavily sell-based.For the last year, sell transactions led buy transactions by 193 to 36. The last three months are visibly better, however, with sell transactions leading buys 19 to nine. The TipRanks 13-F Tracker, meanwhile, shows that selling is also a big position for hedge funds. Hedge funds continued a sell-off of Meta Platforms stock that has been going on for most of the last year now.Hedge Funds cut their FB position by 7.1 million shares in the time between September 2021 and December 2021. They also cut their position between March-June 2021 and June-September 2021.As for retail investors, those who hold portfolios on TipRanks showed a willingness to buy in. Those investors are perhaps the only ones particularly interested right now.In the last seven days, Tipranks portfolios holding Meta Platforms have notched up about 0.1%. However, in the last 30 days, portfolios with the stock have added 1.9%. Meta Platforms’ dividend history, meanwhile, is nonexistent. The Early Days of the MetaverseGranted, virtual reality itself is nothing new. We’ve had virtual reality ever since the early 1990s and the blocky polygonal hell that was “Dactyl Nightmare.” The rise of modern computing, however, has elevated the concept substantially.Where 30 years ago, we considered it fine advancement indeed to fire blocky projectiles at equally blocky pterodactyls, today we have such platforms as VRChat, where “blocky” is about the last word used to describe the graphics therein. Many think that Meta Platforms is the generator of the Metaverse, but that’s an incomplete definition at best. The Metaverse commonly includes a range of platforms, not just Meta’s own, but it also includes such things as Minecraft and Roblox (RBLX).Essentially, if you’re confused about just what the Metaverse is, remember this; no one really knows. It’s still under construction. Trying to define it is like trying to define a lump of clay before it’s worked.Meta Platforms, meanwhile, looks to be one of the biggest players therein, and with good reason. This is potentially where the concept of widespread virtual reality starts up in earnest, and Meta Platforms is eager to land a stake in that startup early on. Corporations are also eager to get a slice of Meta. Not so long ago, I talked about Wendy’s (WEN) and its ambitions therein, which featured basketball games played with a Baconator. Nike (NKE) is moving into the Metaverse as well, with lawsuits aimed at stopping the unauthorized trade of its shoe images as non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Disney (DIS) is working on a package of its own for the Metaverse frontier.Yet, Mark Zuckerberg plans to continue frantically spending on Metaverse development. So much so, in fact, that Meta’s Reality Labs division currently has about 17,000 employees on the payroll, and the division lost about $3 billion last quarter. Not “as of” last quarter, but just in that quarter. The demand is there. Major corporations don’t start coding entire environments for something they figure will fizzle out and boil off into a cloud of short-term fad. They’re expecting this to likely become a big part of the frontier, and they want to have a piece of that action.Concluding ViewsThe good news about Meta Platforms is that it’s clearly a long-term proposition. All of these upswings and downdrafts we see today will likely end up as patterns of growth later on. Great, but that growth is still likely a long way off. Years, perhaps. Potentially, decades.Right now, it would be easy to say that Meta Platforms is at a solid entry point position. It’s below even its lowest price target and offers a substantial slice of upside potential. If Meta ultimately becomes the leading platform in the Metaverse, this could put it in an excellent position. If the Metaverse ultimately takes off the way some expect—or perhaps, hope—it will, a position in Meta today could be a position in the biggest virtual reality platform of tomorrow. The sheer amount of insider selling may leave some unnerved, but they’re likely responding to short-term trends as opposed to longer-term matters.I’m bullish on Meta because it may be a speculative buy with a very long-term payback. However, it’s also a speculative buy with a massive potential payoff. This is one for the very patient and the adventurous at the same time.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":426,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":143246509,"gmtCreate":1625797979601,"gmtModify":1703748773521,"author":{"id":"3581899555657151","authorId":"3581899555657151","name":"joeojy","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/652f4eb2f9ab091289459e7fce79f880","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581899555657151","authorIdStr":"3581899555657151"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ooo","listText":"Ooo","text":"Ooo","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":7,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/143246509","repostId":"1131528233","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":568,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9008686034,"gmtCreate":1641431455168,"gmtModify":1676533614641,"author":{"id":"3581899555657151","authorId":"3581899555657151","name":"joeojy","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/652f4eb2f9ab091289459e7fce79f880","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581899555657151","authorIdStr":"3581899555657151"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"O","listText":"O","text":"O","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9008686034","repostId":"2201255535","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2201255535","kind":"highlight","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com brings you the latest news from around the world, covering breaking news in markets, business, politics, entertainment and technology","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Reuters","id":"1036604489","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/443ce19704621c837795676028cec868"},"pubTimestamp":1641423313,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2201255535?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-01-06 06:55","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Nasdaq posts biggest daily drop since Feb after 'hawkish' Fed minutes","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2201255535","media":"Reuters","summary":"* S&P 500 posts biggest daily pct fall since Nov. 26* Fed minutes show officials said labor market \"very tight\"* Indexes: Dow down 1.1%, S&P 500 down 1.9%, Nasdaq down 3.3%NEW YORK, Jan 5 (Reuters) - ","content":"

* S&P 500 posts biggest daily pct fall since Nov. 26

* Fed minutes show officials said labor market "very tight"

* Indexes: Dow down 1.1%, S&P 500 down 1.9%, Nasdaq down 3.3%

NEW YORK, Jan 5 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks fell sharply on Wednesday, with the Nasdaq plunging more than 3% in its biggest one-day percentage drop since February, after U.S. Federal Reserve meeting minutes signaled the central bank may raise interest rates sooner than expected.

The S&P 500 fell more than 1%, its biggest daily percentage decline since Nov. 26, the first day of trading after news of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus.

The S&P 500 and Nasdaq quickly extended their declines after the release of the minutes, which investors viewed as more hawkish than they had feared. Yet they trade at under 14 times calendar-year 2022 estimated earnings, below UPS’s 17 times.\nWith the stock trading like that, perhaps investors are worried about nothing. If FedEx tops estimates, don’t be surprised if its stock delivers too.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":549,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9082565048,"gmtCreate":1650586232458,"gmtModify":1676534757539,"author":{"id":"3581899555657151","authorId":"3581899555657151","name":"joeojy","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/652f4eb2f9ab091289459e7fce79f880","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581899555657151","authorIdStr":"3581899555657151"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"O","listText":"O","text":"O","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9082565048","repostId":"2229002138","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2229002138","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1650584380,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2229002138?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-04-22 07:39","market":"us","language":"en","title":"After-Hours Stock Movers: A10, SVB Gain; Corsair, Gap Sink","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2229002138","media":"StreetInsider","summary":"After-Hours Stock Movers:Corsair Gaming, Inc.
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Meme stocks have been all the rage so far this year. TheS&P 500slid 1.3% to 4,166.45. Both the Dow and S&P 500 hit their session lows in the final minutes of trading and closed around those levels. TheNasdaq Compositeclosed 0.9% lower at 14,030.38. Economic comeback plays led the market losses.\nFor the week, the 30-stock Dow lost 3.5%. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq were down by 1.9% and 0.2%, respectively, week to date.\nSt. Louis Federal Reserve President Jim Bullardtold CNBC's \"Squawk Box\"on Friday it was natural for the Fed to tilt a little \"hawkish\" this week and that the first rate increase from the central bank would likely come in 2022. His comments came after the Fed on Wednesday added two rate hikes to its 2023 forecast and increased its inflation projection for the year, putting pressure on stock prices.\n\"The fear held by some investors is that if the Fed tightens policy sooner than expected to help cool inflationary pressures, this could weigh on future economic growth,\" Truist Advisory Services chief market strategist Keith Lerner said in a note. To be sure, he added it would be premature to give up on the so-called value trade right now.\nPockets of the market most sensitive to the economic rebound led the sell-off this week. The S&P 500 energy sector and industrials dropped 5.2% and 3.8%, respectively, for the week. Financials and materials meanwhile, lost more than 6% each. These groups had been market leaders this year on the back of the economic reopening.\nThe decline in stocks came as the Fed's actions caused a drastic flattening of the so-called Treasury yield curve. This means the yields of shorter-duration Treasurys — like the 2-year note — rose while longer-duration yields like the benchmark 10-year declined. The retreat in long-dated bond yields reflects less optimism toward economic growth, while the jump in short-end yields shows the expectations of the Fed raising rates.\nThis phenomenon hurt bank stocks particularly as their earnings could take a hit when the spread between short-term and long-term rates narrows. Bank of America and JPMorgan Chase shares on Friday lost more than 2% each. Citigroup fell by 1.8%, posting its 12th straight daily decline.\nFed Chairman Jerome Powell said Wednesday that officials have discussed tapering bond buying and would at some point begin slowing the asset purchases.\n\"This week's first whiff of an eventual change in Fed policy was a reminder that emergency monetary conditions and the free-money era will ultimately end,\" strategists at MRB Partners wrote in a note. \"We expect a series of incremental retreats from the Fed's benign inflation outlook in the coming months.\"\nCommodity prices were underpressure this weekas China attempted to cool rising prices and as the U.S. dollar strengthens. Copper, gold and platinum fell once again on Friday.\nFriday also coincided with the quarterly \"quadruple witching\" in which options and futures on indexes and equities expire. This event may have contributed to more volatile trading during the session.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":263,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
