fell on Friday, with theDow Jones Industrial Averageposting its worst weekly loss since October, as traders worried the Federal Reserve could start raising rates sooner than expected.\nThe blue-chip average dropped 533.37 points, or 1.6%, to 33,290.08. TheS&P 500slid 1.3% to 4,166.45. Both the Dow and S&P 500 hit their session lows in the final minutes of trading and closed around those levels. TheNasdaq Compositeclosed 0.9% lower at 14,030.38. Economic comeback plays led the market losses.\nFor the week, the 30-stock Dow lost 3.5%. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq were down by 1.9% and 0.2%, respectively, week to date.\nSt. Louis Federal Reserve President Jim Bullardtold CNBC's \"Squawk Box\"on Friday it was natural for the Fed to tilt a little \"hawkish\" this week and that the first rate increase from the central bank would likely come in 2022. His comments came after the Fed on Wednesday added two rate hikes to its 2023 forecast and increased its inflation projection for the year, putting pressure on stock prices.\n\"The fear held by some investors is that if the Fed tightens policy sooner than expected to help cool inflationary pressures, this could weigh on future economic growth,\" Truist Advisory Services chief market strategist Keith Lerner said in a note. To be sure, he added it would be premature to give up on the so-called value trade right now.\nPockets of the market most sensitive to the economic rebound led the sell-off this week. The S&P 500 energy sector and industrials dropped 5.2% and 3.8%, respectively, for the week. Financials and materials meanwhile, lost more than 6% each. These groups had been market leaders this year on the back of the economic reopening.\nThe decline in stocks came as the Fed's actions caused a drastic flattening of the so-called Treasury yield curve. This means the yields of shorter-duration Treasurys — like the 2-year note — rose while longer-duration yields like the benchmark 10-year declined. The retreat in long-dated bond yields reflects less optimism toward economic growth, while the jump in short-end yields shows the expectations of the Fed raising rates.\nThis phenomenon hurt bank stocks particularly as their earnings could take a hit when the spread between short-term and long-term rates narrows. Bank of America and JPMorgan Chase shares on Friday lost more than 2% each. Citigroup fell by 1.8%, posting its 12th straight daily decline.\nFed Chairman Jerome Powell said Wednesday that officials have discussed tapering bond buying and would at some point begin slowing the asset purchases.\n\"This week's first whiff of an eventual change in Fed policy was a reminder that emergency monetary conditions and the free-money era will ultimately end,\" strategists at MRB Partners wrote in a note. \"We expect a series of incremental retreats from the Fed's benign inflation outlook in the coming months.\"\nCommodity prices were underpressure this weekas China attempted to cool rising prices and as the U.S. dollar strengthens. Copper, gold and platinum fell once again on Friday.\nFriday also coincided with the quarterly \"quadruple witching\" in which options and futures on indexes and equities expire. This event may have contributed to more volatile trading during the session.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":261,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":165003848,"gmtCreate":1624078604184,"gmtModify":1703828416165,"author":{"id":"3581909893600020","authorId":"3581909893600020","name":"CLCHIA","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/56a60bdaa4c9b4a9f913eaf04c810f0c","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581909893600020","authorIdStr":"3581909893600020"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"<a Repeat.\n\nThe charts below show the outsized retail investor participation in the past month...\nHere is the retail stock investor fading as the stock explodes higher (and hedge funds take over)...\n\nAnd here are retail option investors doing the same...\n\nSo, with all that said, the question is will it end badly...\n...again?","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":102,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":183325003,"gmtCreate":1623309831402,"gmtModify":1704200584452,"author":{"id":"3581909893600020","authorId":"3581909893600020","name":"CLCHIA","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/56a60bdaa4c9b4a9f913eaf04c810f0c","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581909893600020","authorIdStr":"3581909893600020"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"<a Especially when it comes to day-to-day fluctuations, you can often attribute big gains or losses to what analysts have to say about a company.

On Tuesday, a couple of stocks stood out in getting attention from Wall Street pros. With the Dow Jones Industrial Average,S&P 500, and Nasdaq Composite all seeing modest gains on the day, the moves for Generac Holdings(NYSE:GNRC)and NextDecade(NASDAQ:NEXT)were notable and raised some eyebrows among market participants.

This powerful stock is heating up

Shares of Generac Holdings climbed more than 6% on Tuesday. The maker of backup generator equipment for residential and commercial customers earned some favorable comments from analysts looking for ways to play the summer storm season.

The positive views came from analysts at KeyBanc, who reaffirmed their price target of $400 per share on Generac. As they see it, the company trades at an attractive level compared to its past earnings and future prospects, especially given rising interest in its products to provide standby power for homes when grid power becomes unavailable. It's common at various points of the year for investors to start paying attention to Generac again, whether it's when winter storms hit or as hurricane and tornado season approaches in the late spring and summer months.

Solar energy storage is also apotential growth area for Generac. As more homeowners have seen the value of keeping their property in shape and in optimal condition during the pandemic, the value of Generac systems has gone up in the eyes of many.

With today's rise, Generac is among the few huge performers from 2020 that have regained nearly all of their losses in the past few months. The stock is now challenging record highs, and continued success in driving demand could be what pushes Generac over the top.

NextDecade gets another vote of confidence

Gains for small-cap NextDecadewere much larger. The stock rose almost 60% on Tuesday.

The catalyst for the little-known provider ofliquefied natural gaswas another upgrade from Wall Street analysts. The latest came fromEvercore ISI, which boosted its rating on the stock from in-line to outperform. Evercore also tripled its price target on NextDecade's stock to $9 per share, leaving room for more upside even after today's big gains.

For years, U.S. natural gas prices have been low enough relative to their levels in other parts of the globe to encourage would-be importers of U.S. natural gas to consider LNG transport. Yet the huge disruptions in the energy market in 2020 due to the pandemic put at least a brief halt to most of those prospects. Now, though, investors increasingly see the prospects for NextDecade as becoming favorable enough for it to move forward with its Rio Grande project in Texas.

The energy industry has rebounded sharply in 2021, and that's helping stocks throughout the sector. With LNG becoming economically viable again, it could spell a nice turnaround for NextDecade and its peers.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Wall Street Is Lighting a Fire Under These 2 Stocks
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nWall Street Is Lighting a Fire Under These 2 Stocks\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-09 11:43 GMT+8 fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Wall Street still has a huge amount of influence over stocks. This event may have contributed to more volatile trading during the session.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":261,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":183325152,"gmtCreate":1623309855476,"gmtModify":1704200584776,"author":{"id":"3581909893600020","authorId":"3581909893600020","name":"CLCHIA","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/56a60bdaa4c9b4a9f913eaf04c810f0c","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581909893600020","authorIdStr":"3581909893600020"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like and comments pls ","listText":"Like and comments pls ","text":"Like and comments pls","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/183325152","repostId":"1161159131","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1161159131","pubTimestamp":1623309628,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1161159131?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-10 15:20","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Anatomy Of A Short Squeeze: This Is How Hedge Funds Pounce On Retail Meme Stocks","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1161159131","media":"zerohedge","summary":"In the'old normal'- when dinosaurs roamed the earth - history suggested thatwhen retail investors pi","content":"
In the'old normal'- when dinosaurs roamed the earth - history suggested thatwhen retail investors piled into stocks with both hands and feet, a major top in prices was usually not far behind.
\n
But, in the'new normal'of Reddit Rebels and Meme Stock Manias, it is the 'little guy' that is making the \"Smart\" money look \"Dumb\" as stock after stock is lifted out of obscurity - or from the brink of bankruptcy - by a wave of WSB-buyers, crushing the well-reasoned theses of asset-gatherers and commission-takers everywhere as 'worthless' stonks go to the moon.
\n
Retail piling in...
\n

\n
...and hedgies hammered...
\n

\n
In fact, what has been only anecdotally observed, is now confirmed by Goldman Sachs' latest research note that suggestsretail trading activity continues to be a leading indicator (rather than contrarian).
\n
Specifically Goldman's Derivatives Research group believeretail trading activity is an indication of a large number of traders “paying attention” to a stock.
\n
\n When a retail investor pays attention to a stock, they generally choose between “buying” or “not-buying” the stock (retail investors are generally not short sellers). \n This results in temporary net-buying flow from retail investors and pushes the stock up temporarily.Volatile stocks then \n attract the attention of institutional investors as they see opportunities to use their understanding of option market positioning, delta hedging requirements of market makers and fundamental valuation to position for outsized profits. At some point, retail traders become a smaller percentage of overall volume and the tailwind inherent in this “attention” signal fades. \n This is the point where institutional investors position for a (partial) mean reversion. In fact, many of the high profile retail trading names show a significant drop in retail trading as a percentage of total volume in the days ahead of the ultimate peak and subsequent decline.\n
\n
Translation:
\n
\n 1) \n Retailinvestors ignite the momentum, \n squeezing shortsout;2) ...which grabs the attention of \n institutional/hedge funds, who then deploy leverage to spark the \n gamma squeezemeltup...3) ...which further squeezes the shorts out...4) ... \n enabling hedgies to implement shorts at much higher prices, slamming the stock lower...5) ...setting the stage for the next retail-ignited squeeze.Rinse... Especially when it comes to day-to-day","content":"
Wall Street still has a huge amount of influence over stocks. Especially when it comes to day-to-day fluctuations, you can often attribute big gains or losses to what analysts have to say about a company.
