So income investors have to be selective when they're seeking high-yield income plays.
\n
It's still possible to score long-term dividend winners, but you have to be careful.
\n
With theS&P 500and other major indexes still trading near record highs and some economic uncertainty on the horizon, now could be a good time to fortify your portfolio with some high-quality dividend stocks. Read on for a look at two stocks with yields significantly above 5% that look like strong buys right now.
\n
1. AT&T: Currently yielding 6.6%
\n
AT&T(NYSE:T)trades at roughly 10 times this year's expected earnings and pays a dividend that yields 6.6%. The big yield is partly the result of weak stock performance, with its share price having fallen roughly 19% over the last five years while theNasdaq Compositeindex rose 192% across the same stretch, and there's admittedly some uncertainty surrounding the company's outlook.
\n
The DIRECTV satellite television business that the company acquired for $67 billion in 2015 is being spun off into a separate subsidiary, and will likely continue to lose subscribers as cord-cutting reshapes the pay-TV landscape. The telecom's $104 billion acquisition of Time Warner in 2018 looks much more promising, but was still costly.
\n
The company ended last quarter with roughly $169 billion in debt on its books after making a big investment in spectrum band for its 5G network. The debt level and competitive state of the telecommunications industry means that investors have to consider some risk factors, but AT&T generates enough free cash flow to keep the dividend sustainable, and the business could outperform expectations.
\n
The company operates the country's second-largest mobile wireless network, and it stands a good chance of benefiting from the rollout of next-generation communications services. The 5G revolution is still in its very early stages, and high-performance networks will enable new applications that boost demand for AT&T's consumer and enterprise wireless services.
\n
AT&T's potential to be a leading player in streaming also seems to be underappreciated. The company's HBO Max got off to a slow start, but the Warner entertainment business has been in operation for nearly a century, and it has a fantastic content library to leverage and great franchises and production teams to create new hits.
\n
AT&T has 34 years of consecutive annual dividend payout growth, and it has until the end of this year to deliver another payout increase in order to retain its Dividend Aristocrat status. Management has stated that it's at the very least committed to sustaining the currentdividend, and it wouldn't be surprising to see another small payout hike. AT&T looks cheaply valued, and it's generating plenty offree cash flowto keep checks flowing back to shareholders while still paying down its debt.
\n
2. Lumen Technologies: Currently yielding 7.8%
\n
Lumen Technologies(NYSE:LUMN), which was known as CenturyLink prior to a name change last year, is another telecommunications stock that has struggled in recent years and pays a big dividend yield. The company is valued at approximately eight times this year's expected earnings, and its payout yields 7.8%.
\n
Declines for the company's legacy internet and landline services have prompted it to invest in high-performance fiber-optic networks. Lumen is also expanding in categories including application platform, edge-computing, and content-delivery network services.
\n
It has made big infrastructure investments in order to aid its turnaround initiative, and that's added to the company's sizable debt load. But the business is generating strong cash flow, and there's a chance that margins could significantly improve as the company continues its pivot to fiber and enterprise services.
\n
The telecom reduced its debt by $1.6 billion last year and refinanced $13 billion in long-term debt in ways that further reduce interest expense, extending maturities and strengthening the balance sheet. The cheap lending environment created by Fed policy in response to the pandemic made it easier for Lumen to refinance much of its debt on more favorable terms, and the company has also been making significant progress with cost savings.
\n
Lumen is incurring some significant expenses as part of its transformation effort, but most of these should be one-time charges. And the company had roughly $3.13 billion in free cash flow last year, enough to cover its forward dividend payout more than twice over. There are signs that the company's growth bets and restructuring initiatives are beginning to bear fruit, and the stock looks like a worthwhile play for investors seeking a big yield in the telecom space.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
2 Stocks to Buy With Dividends Yielding More Than 5%
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n2 Stocks to Buy With Dividends Yielding More Than 5%\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-05-06 10:47 GMT+8 The motley fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
A company paying high dividend yields can be great, but they're also sometimes a sign that the stock wouldn't otherwise be able to attract investors and that the underlying business is on the decline....
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"LUMN":"Lumen Technologies","T":"美国电话电报"},"source_url":"https://www.fool.com/investing/2021/05/05/2-stocks-buy-with-dividend-yielding-5-percent/","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1150873978","content_text":"A company paying high dividend yields can be great, but they're also sometimes a sign that the stock wouldn't otherwise be able to attract investors and that the underlying business is on the decline. To get there, the stock needs to rise to $264.55.

The shares have gained 18% year to date.

Analysts expect another strong quarter from the company’s Azure and Office 365 cloud businesses, and will be looking for signs of accelerating growth in its enterprise operation. Sales of Surface hardware—laptops and whiteboards—were likely strong in the quarter, given the huge recent growth in PC purchases, although there is some potential that shortages of components resulted in unfilled demand. Strength in the PC market also bodes well for sales of the Windows operating system.

Microsoft breaks down its results into three segments: Productivity and Business Processes, which includes Office 365, Dynamics, and LinkedIn; Intelligence Cloud, which includes Azure and enterprise server software; and More Personal Computing, which includes Windows, Xbox, Surface hardware, and Bing.

When Microsoft reported its results for its fiscal second quarter in late January,CFO Amy Hood provided revenue guidance for each segment. For Productivity and Business Processes, she projected revenue of $13.35 billion to $13.6 billion. On Monday, Microsoft stock set an intraday record of $262.44, leaving the stock just a modest rally away from hitting a $2 trillion valuation for the first time. To get there, the stock needs to rise to $264.55.The shares have gained 18% year to date.Analysts expect another strong quarter from the company’s Azure and Office 365 cloud businesses, and will be looking for signs of accelerating growth in its enterprise operation. The call for Intelligent Cloud was for revenue of $14.7 billion to $14.95 billion, while she predicted $12.3 billion to $12.7 billion for More Personal Computing. If revenue for each segment came in at the top of its forecast range, the total would be $41.25 billion. In research notes, several analysts cited positive comments from customers and resellers in projecting strong results.Last week, KeyBanc Capital’s Michael Turits repeated his Overweight rating on the stock while lifting his target for the price to $295, from $280. The company beat expectations handily, buoyed by sales of bitcoin and regulatory credits, but the stock dipped as much as 2.5% after hours as investors digested the numbers. Here’s how the company fared in the quarter, compared with analyst estimates compiled by Refinitiv:Earnings:93 cents per share vs. 79 cents per share expectedRevenue:$10.39 billion vs. $10.29 billion expected, up 74% from a year agoNet profit reached a quarterly record of $438 million on a GAAP basis, and the company recorded $518 million in revenue from sales of regulatory credits during the period. It also recorded a $101 million positive impact from sales of bitcoin during the quarter.CEO Elon Musk’s electric vehicle business reported in the first quarter vehicle deliveries of 184,800 Model 3 and Model Y cars, beating expectations and setting a record for Tesla. However, the company also said it produced none of its higher-end Model S sedans or Model X SUVs for the period ending March. It delivered2,020 older Model S sedans and Model X SUVs from inventory. On Monday’s earnings call, Musk said the new version of the company’s Model S sedans will finally be delivered to customers starting in May 2021, with Model X deliveries to begin in the third quarter of the year. Musk and CFO Zachary Kirkhorn both said supply chain issues are likely to remain a challenge for Tesla this year.In January 2021 (during a fourth-quarter 2020 earnings update) Musk had said that the Model S Plaid was already in production would be delivered starting in February 2021. But he admitted on Monday, “There were more challenges than expected,” in producing the refreshed version of these vehicles. He did not elaborate.Tesla is now aiming to produce 2,000 Model S and X vehicles per week later this year. The company said Monday it expects more than 50% vehicle delivery growth in 2021 overall, which implies minimum deliveries around 750,000 vehicles this year. The fact Tesla grew vehicle unit sales by more than 100% year over year but grew service centers by only 28% and its mobile service fleet by only 22% explains why some Tesla customers face frustratingly long wait times for repairs. Service expansion is not keeping pace with the volume of vehicles sold.Tesla said it has weathered chip shortages that have plagued the auto industry in part by “pivoting extremely quickly to new microcontrollers, while simultaneously developing firmware for new chips made by new suppliers.” It did not disclose the names of its new suppliers. It also reiterated Musk’s frequent claim that cameras, not radar, are a better path toward autonomous vehicles. “Our AI-based software architecture has been increasingly reliant on cameras, to the point where radar is becoming unnecessary earlier than expected. As a result, our FSD [Full Self-Driving] team is fully focused on evolving to a vision-based autonomous system and we are nearly ready to switch the US market to Tesla Vision,” the company said in its earnings release.Revenue for its energy generation and storage business nearly doubled for Tesla versus the same period in 2020, when Musk said Covid, then an emerging pandemic, had slowed its energy business to a crawl. But energy revenue declined from $787 million in the fourth quarter to $595 million in the first quarter of 2021.Recently, Tesla increased prices for its solar rooftops by 50%, and now requires anyone ordering solar photovoltaics (including Tesla solar roof tiles) to also order the Powerwall, Tesla’s home energy storage system. The sudden price change applied retroactively to some vexed customers.Musk said on the Q1 2021 call that he is aiming for homes with solar rooftops and batteries from Tesla to function as a “giant distributed utility” that can help incumbent electrical utilities supply customers with all the electricity they need as demand and extreme weather events increase.Executives did not say how they would change their production or mix of battery cells from suppliers in order to make a higher volume of vehicles and energy storage products in 2021.Musk said the company’s 4680 cells, which it developed independently and makes at a pilot plant in Fremont, California, are not yet reliable enough to be shipped in Tesla vehicles. He said Tesla would probably “achieve volume production” of these cells in 12 to 18 months. The company revealed in February it purchased $1.5 billion in bitcoin and would potentially invest in other cryptocurrencies in the future. The president addresses a joint session of Congress Wednesday evening. It’s a huge week for earnings with about a third of the S&P 500 reporting, including Big Tech names, such as Apple,Microsoft,Alphabet and Amazon. As many have already done, firms like Boeing, Ford,Caterpillar and McDonald’s, are likely to detail cost pressures they are facing from rising materials and transportation costs and supply chain disruptions. At the same time, the Fed is expected to defend its policy of letting inflation run hot, while assuring markets it sees the pick-up in prices as only temporary. The central bank meets on Tuesday and Wednesday. The central bank takes the main stage“I think the Fed would like not to be a feature next week, but the Fed will be forced from the background because of concerns about inflation,” said Diane Swonk, chief economist at Grant Thornton. The central bank is not expected to make any policy moves, but Fed Chairman Jerome Powell’s press briefing following the meeting Wednesday will be closely watched. So far, the barrage of earnings news has been positive, with 86% of companies reporting earnings beats. Corporate profits are expected to be up about 33.9% for the first quarter, based on estimates and actual reports, according to Refinitiv. Revenues are about 9.9% higher. There is important inflation data Friday when the Fed’s preferred inflation gauge is reported. The personal consumption expenditure report is expected to show a 1.8% rise in core inflation, still below the Fed’s target of 2%. Other data releases include the first-quarter gross domestic product on Thursday, which is expected to have grown by 6.5%, according to Dow Jones.“I think the Fed has no urgency to shift monetary policy at this point,” said Ian Lyngen, head of U.S. rates strategy at BMO. “The Fed needs to acknowledge that the data is improving. We had a strong first quarter.”“The Fed needs to acknowledge that but at the same time they’re keeping extremely accommodative policy in place, so they’ll have to make a note to the fact that the easy policy is warranted,” he said.Lyngen said the Fed will likely point to continued concerns about the pandemic globally as a potential risk to the economic recovery.Powell is also expected to once more explain that the Fed will let inflation rise above its 2% target for a period of time before it raises rates so that the economy can have more time to heal. “It’s going to be a challenge for the Fed,” said Swonk. The base effects for the next several months will make inflation appear to have jumped sharply because of the comparison to a weak period last year. The consumer price index for April could be above 3%, compared to 2.6% last month, Swonk added.“The Fed is trying to let a lot more people get out onto the dance floor before it calls ‘last call,’” she said. “Really what Powell has been saying since day one is if we take care of people on the margins and bring them back into the labor force, the rest will take care of itself.”Stocks were slightly lower in the past week, and Treasury yields held at lower levels. The 10-year yield, which moves opposite price, was at 1.55% Friday. The S&P 500was down 0.1%, ending the week at 4,180, while Nasdaq Composite was down nearly 0.3% at 14,016. The Dow was off just shy of 0.5% at 34,043.Tax hike prospectsStocks were hit hard on Thursday when after a news report said that Biden is expected to propose a capital gains tax rate of 39.6% for people earning more than $1 million a year.Combined with the 3.8% net investment income tax, the new levy would more than double the long term capital gains rate of 20% or the richest Americans.Strategists said Biden is expected to propose raising the income tax rate for those earning more than $400,000.“I think a lot of people are starting to price in the risk there going to be a significant increase in both corporate and capital gains taxes,” said Lyngen. So far, companies have not provided much in the way of commentary on the proposed hike in corporate taxes to 28% from 21% but they have been talking about other costs.David Bianco, chief investment strategist for the Americas at DWS, said he expects larger companies will do better dealing with supply chain constraints than smaller ones. Big Tech is also likely to fare better during the semiconductor shortage than auto makers, which have already announced production shutdowns, he said.“Next week is tech week. I think we’re going to get down on our knees and just be in awe of their business models and their ability to grow at a behemoth scale,” Bianco said.He said he’s not in favor of Wall Street’s popular trade into cyclicals and out of growth. He still favors growth.“We’re overweight equities really because we’re concerned about rising interest rates,” Bianco said. “I’m not bullish in that I expect the market to rise that much from here.”“We stuck with growth and dug deeper into bond substitutes, utilities, staples, real estate,” he said, adding he is underweight industrials, energy and materials. “Energy is doomed. It’s being nationalized via regulation. I do like industrials, they are well-run companies, but I do think infrastructure spending expectations for classic infrastructure are too high.”He also said industrials are good businesses, but the stocks have become overvalued.Bianco said he likes big box stores, but smaller retailers are facing big challenges that were already impacting them prior to Covid. He also finds small biotech firms attractive.“I like healthcare stocks. Those valuations are reasonable. People have been paranoid about politicians beating on them since 1992. They manage through it and lately they’ve been delivering,” he said.Week ahead calendarMondayEarnings:Tesla,Canadian National Railway, Canon,Check Point Software,Otis Worldwide, Vale,Ameriprise,NXP Semiconductor,Albertsons, Royal Phillips8:30 a.m. Durable goodsTuesdayFOMC begins two day meetingEarnings:Microsoft,Alphabet,Visa,Amgen,Advanced Micro Devices,3M,General Electric,Eli Lilly, Hasbro,United Parcel Service,BP,Novartis,JetBlue,Pultegroup,Archer Daniels Midland,Waste Management,Starbucks,Texas Instrument,Chubb,Mondelez,FireEye,Corning,Raytheon9:00 a.m. S&P/Case-Shiller9:00 a.m. FHFA home prices10:00 a.m. Consumer confidence10:00 a.m. Housing vacanciesWednesdayEarnings:Apple, Boeing,Facebook,Qualcomm,Ford,MGM Resorts,Humana,Norfolk Southern,General Dynamics,Boston Scientific, eBay, Samsung Electronics, GlaxoSmithKline,Yum Brands, SiriusXM, Aflac,Cheesecake Factory,Community Health System,CIT Group,Entergy,CME Group,Hess,Ryder System8:30 a.m. Advance economic indicators2:00 p.m. Fed statement2:30 p.m. Fed Chairman Jerome Powell briefingThursdayEarnings:Amazon,Caterpillar,McDonald’s,Twitter,Bristol-Myers Squibb,Comcast,Merck,Northrop Grumman, Airbus,Kraft Heinz,Intercontinental Exchange,Mastercard,Gilead Sciences,U.S. Steel, Cirrus Logic,Texas Roadhouse, Cabot Oil, PG&E,Royal Dutch Shell,Church & Dwight, Carlyle Group,Southern Co.8:30 a.m. Initial jobless claims8:30 a.m. Real GDP Q110:00 a.m. Pending home salesFridayEarnings:ExxonMobil,Chevron,Colgate-Palmolive,AstraZeneca,Clorox,Barclays, AbbVie, BNP Paribas,Weyerhaeuser,Illinois Tool Works, CBOE Global Markets, Lazard,Newell Brands,Aon,LyondellBasell,Pitney Bowes,Phillips 66,Charter Communications8:30 a.m. Personal income and spending8:30 a.m. Employment cost index Q19:45 a.m. Chicago PMI10:00 a.m. Consumer sentimentSaturdayEarnings:Berkshire Hathaway","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":368,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":372785602,"gmtCreate":1619243488306,"gmtModify":1704721781323,"author":{"id":"3581935279530619","authorId":"3581935279530619","name":"Yj93","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581935279530619","authorIdStr":"3581935279530619"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[Cool] ","listText":"[Cool] ","text":"[Cool]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/372785602","repostId":"1150672819","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1150672819","pubTimestamp":1619190781,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1150672819?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-04-23 23:13","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Why Car Stocks Aren’t Getting Crushed by the Chip Shortage","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1150672819","media":"Barrons","summary":"Dreamstime\nWith first quarter results coming in, car and semiconductor companies are commenting on t","content":"
Dreamstime
\n
With first quarter results coming in, car and semiconductor companies are commenting on the microchip shortage which is hampering global auto production. The comments, however, don’t appear to be matching up. While chip makers’ comments are setting off alarms, car makers—whose stocks are mostly off to a great start in 2021—are downplaying the problem.
\n
A lack of microchips that make modern cars function has resulted in unplanned downtime for many auto makers. Ford Motor (ticker: F), for instance, said it was extending outages at three assembly plants Thursday.Terrence Curtin, CEO of electrical component supplier TE Connectivity (TEL) toldBarron’s this week that roughly 1 million cars weren’t built in the first quarter because of the shortage. That is about 5% of global auto output. And General Motors (GM) called the shortage a billion dollar headwind to 2021 operating profits when the company reported fourth quarter numbers earlier this year.
\n
Auto stocks, however, have been largely unaffected by the issue. GM and Ford shares, for instance, are both up 36% year to date. Parts suppliers TE and BorgWarner (BWA) are up 9% and 28%, respectively. Car dealer Auto Nation (AN) stock is also on fire as well, up about 38% so far in 2021.
\n
Demand is strong, rebounding from the 2020 pandemic-induced recession. The optimism for higher sales in 2021 and 2022 is trumping any concern about near term disruption. But the disruption might get worse before it gets better and auto investors will have to square that reality with their outlooks as more company report first quarter numbers.
\n
Ford is set to report earnings April 28. GM follows on May 5. Daimler (DAI.Germany), for its part, reported first quarter numbers Friday. Things still look good. Car sales rose, product mix was favorable and profitability improved. Management doesn’t sound too worried about microchips. “The impact from semiconductor shortage was not very material in the first quarter,” said CFO Harald Wilhelm on an investor call. Second quarter impacts are possible, but “we anticipate to recover part of the lost volumes by the end of the year.”
\n
Daimler stock is down 1.1% in overseas trading. Year to date, share are up about 28%.
\n
Stellantis (STLA) CEO Carlos Tavares sounded a little more cautious in an April 15 conference noting that production impacts would extend into the second half of 2021 and that “visibility on the speed at which this is going to be fixed is reasonably low right now.”
\n
Along with some auto makers, Intel (INTC) and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSM) have also reported first quarter results. Taiwan Semi went first, saying the automotive shortage should be “greatly reduced” by the third quarter of 2021.
\n
Resolution is good news, but Q3 is a little later than auto companies expected at the beginning of the year. Intel management was a little more cautious on their earnings conference call. They said the shortage might stretch on for longer than investors currently expect. “The industry is now challenged by a shortage of foundry capacity, substrates and components,” commented CEO Patrick Gelsinger Thursday evening. “It will take a couple of years for the ecosystem to make the significant investments to address these shortages.”
\n
Investors should get ready to hear more about shortages extending deeper into 2021. The stocks won’t get a pass unless companies keep putting up good numbers like Diamler. Auto suppler Gentex (GNTX), for instance, missed first quarter sales estimates because of the shortage. The company reported $484 million in first quarter sales Friday. Wall Street was looking for $491 million. The comments, however, don’t appear to be matching up. While chip makers’ comments are setting off alarms, car makers—whose stocks are mostly off to a great start in 2021—are downplaying the problem.\nA lack of microchips that make modern cars function has resulted in unplanned downtime for many auto makers. And General Motors (GM) called the shortage a billion dollar headwind to 2021 operating profits when the company reported fourth quarter numbers earlier this year.\nAuto stocks, however, have been largely unaffected by the issue. GM and Ford shares, for instance, are both up 36% year to date. Parts suppliers TE and BorgWarner (BWA) are up 9% and 28%, respectively. Car dealer Auto Nation (AN) stock is also on fire as well, up about 38% so far in 2021.\nDemand is strong, rebounding from the 2020 pandemic-induced recession. The optimism for higher sales in 2021 and 2022 is trumping any concern about near term disruption. But the disruption might get worse before it gets better and auto investors will have to square that reality with their outlooks as more company report first quarter numbers.\nFord is set to report earnings April 28. Second quarter impacts are possible, but “we anticipate to recover part of the lost volumes by the end of the year.”\nDaimler stock is down 1.1% in overseas trading. Year to date, share are up about 28%.\nStellantis (STLA) CEO Carlos Tavares sounded a little more cautious in an April 15 conference noting that production impacts would extend into the second half of 2021 and that “visibility on the speed at which this is going to be fixed is reasonably low right now.”\nAlong with some auto makers, Intel (INTC) and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSM) have also reported first quarter results. Taiwan Semi went first, saying the automotive shortage should be “greatly reduced” by the third quarter of 2021.\nResolution is good news, but Q3 is a little later than auto companies expected at the beginning of the year. Intel management was a little more cautious on their earnings conference call. They said the shortage might stretch on for longer than investors currently expect. “The industry is now challenged by a shortage of foundry capacity, substrates and components,” commented CEO Patrick Gelsinger Thursday evening. “It will take a couple of years for the ecosystem to make the significant investments to address these shortages.”\nInvestors should get ready to hear more about shortages extending deeper into 2021. Gentex management estimated that $45 million in sales was lost due to the shortage.\nGentex shares are down about 1% in early trading. That isn’t a big move, but it is a wobble with the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average rising 0.5% and 0.2%, respectively.\nThe chip issue isn’t going away. And it will remain a watch item for auto investors, who aren’t use to thinking about foundries and substrates, as Intel’s Gelsinger put it.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":256,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":376483079,"gmtCreate":1619141930491,"gmtModify":1704720265434,"author":{"id":"3581935279530619","authorId":"3581935279530619","name":"Yj93","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581935279530619","authorIdStr":"3581935279530619"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[Grin] ","listText":"[Grin] ","text":"[Grin]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/376483079","repostId":"2129339985","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2129339985","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Dow Jones publishes the world’s most trusted business news and financial information in a variety of media.","home_visible":0,"media_name":"Dow Jones","id":"106","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/150f88aa4d182df19190059f4a365e99"},"pubTimestamp":1619126760,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2129339985?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-04-23 05:26","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Here's how fast Iran could boost oil output after agreement on nuclear deal","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2129339985","media":"Dow Jones","summary":"There are likely weeks and months of thorny negotiations still ahead for the U.S., Iran and other pa","content":"
There are likely weeks and months of thorny negotiations still ahead for the U.S., Iran and other parties, but a revival of the 2015 nuclear deal -- and the easing of sanctions -- could see Tehran ramp up oil production very quickly.

Just how quick?

\"Once Iran returns to nuclear compliance -- assumed to be two months after a return to the deal is agreed -- it will try to export as much oil as it can as fast as it can. POINTSThe last week of April will be extremely busy for markets with a third of the S&P 500 reporting earnings, a Federal Reserve meeting, and new spending and tax proposals from the White House.Big Tech is a highlight of the earnings calendar, with Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Facebook and Alphabet all releasing results. The Fed is not expected to take any action, but economists expect it to defend its policy to let inflation run hot. There is some key data including first-quarter gross domestic product and the Fed’s favorite inflation measure: the personal consumption expenditures deflator. The final week of April is going to be a busy one for markets with a Federal Reserve meeting and a deluge of earnings news.Hot topics in markets will continue to be inflation and taxes.President Joe Biden is expected to detail his “American Families Plan” and the tax increases to pay for it, including a much higher capital gains tax for the wealthy. The plan is the second part of his Build Back Better agenda and will include new spending proposals aimed at helping families. Consumer sentimentSaturdayEarnings:Berkshire Hathaway","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":368,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":373791948,"gmtCreate":1618881934184,"gmtModify":1704716278700,"author":{"id":"3581935279530619","authorId":"3581935279530619","name":"Yj93","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581935279530619","authorIdStr":"3581935279530619"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"nice","listText":"nice","text":"nice","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":3,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/373791948","repostId":"373661663","repostType":1,"repost":{"id":373661663,"gmtCreate":1618843100852,"gmtModify":1704715782544,"author":{"id":"3581935279530619","authorId":"3581935279530619","name":"Yj93","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581935279530619","authorIdStr":"3581935279530619"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Hi please like","listText":"Hi please like","text":"Hi please like","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/373661663","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":0,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":255,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":106611648,"gmtCreate":1620110070984,"gmtModify":1704338802247,"author":{"id":"3581935279530619","authorId":"3581935279530619","name":"Yj93","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581935279530619","authorIdStr":"3581935279530619"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like comment","listText":"Like comment","text":"Like comment","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/106611648","repostId":"1141446343","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1141446343","pubTimestamp":1620108260,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1141446343?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-05-04 14:04","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Bill and Melinda Gates are getting divorced. On Monday, Microsoft stock set an intraday record of $262.44, leaving the stock just a modest rally away from hitting a $2 trillion valuation for the first time.

The call for Intelligent Cloud was for revenue of $14.7 billion to $14.95 billion, while she predicted $12.3 billion to $12.7 billion for More Personal Computing. If revenue for each segment came in at the top of its forecast range, the total would be $41.25 billion.

In research notes, several analysts cited positive comments from customers and resellers in projecting strong results.

Last week, KeyBanc Capital’s Michael Turits repeated his Overweight rating on the stock while lifting his target for the price to $295, from $280. He says the company is likely benefiting from a combination of strong IT demand and continuing strength in PC shipments.“We continue to see Microsoft’s combination of expanding Azure scope, broad enterprise application innovation, and aggressive bundling seeing success in the market,” he wrote. “Nearly all North American Microsoft distributors/resellers we spoke with reported Microsoft channel revenue on or above plan.”J.P. At 576,000, new claims broke below the Great Recession-era high of 665,000 filed in March 2009 for the first time in more than a year. And claims have dropped precipitously from their all-time high of 6.1 million from last spring.
\n
But the labor market recovery has still been choppy, and the general downtrend in new jobless claims over the past several months has come with some bumps higher. Other reports have also underscored the stop-and-start nature of the rebound, with the Federal Reserve's latest Beige Book last week noting that many regions continued to experience labor shortages as well as hiring challenges over the past several weeks.
\n

\n
And even within the jobless claims report, some metrics have remained stubbornly elevated and pointed to persistently high levels of unemployment. Nearly 17 million Americans were still receiving unemployment benefits across all programs as of late March, including more than 12 million Americans on the federal Pandemic Unemployment Assistance and Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation program, which each expire in September. And some individual states, including Nevada and Alaska, continue to post insured unemployment rates that are well above the national average.
\n
\"The issue for the labor market, in our view, is at least partly related to ongoing health risks,\" Rubeela Farooqi, chief U.S. economist for High Frequency Economics, said in a note. \"Even as states are lifting restrictions and the pace of vaccinations is picking up, workers are still likely hesitant to return to work, especially in contact-intensive industries.\"
\n
\"Overall, the labor market will see a significant rebound going forward,\" she added. \"However, there are a lot of moving parts that will play a role in how sustainable and complete the recovery will be.\"
\n
This post will be updated with the results of Thursday's initial unemployment claims report from the Labor Department at 8:30 a.m. Check back for updates.
","source":"yahoofinance_au","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html;
