For the Nasdaq, Friday was the eighth session in April, out of 15 trading days this month, where the index either rose or fell by more than 2%.\"It's not very common, over the course of my time doing this job, for the market to move 2% in either direction and to think 'there's not too much to read into that',\" said Craig Erlam, senior market analyst at OANDA.\"That's not normal, but that's just how things have been for such a long time now.\"Concerns about risks from interest rate hikes continued to reverberate after Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell's hawkish pivot on Thursday, where he backed moving more quickly to combat inflation and said a 50-basis-point increase would be \"on the table\" when the Fed meets in May.The idea of \"front-end loading\" the U.S. central bank's retreat from super-easy monetary policy, which Powell articulated support for on Thursday, has also forced traders to re-evaluate how aggressive subsequent rate rises would be.The CBOE Volatility index, also known as Wall Street's fear gauge, jumped on Friday, ending at its highest level since mid-March.Meanwhile, the latest earnings forecasts to jolt investors came from healthcare, with HCA Healthcare and Intuitive Surgical Inc the worst performers on the S&P 500.HCA slumped 21.8% after reporting a downbeat profit view, while other hospital operators felt the contagion: Tenet Healthcare, Community Health Systems and Universal Health Services all tumbled between 14% and 17.9%.Surgical robot maker Intuitive Surgical dropped 14.3% after warning of weaker demand from hospitals due to tighter finances. All 11 major S&P 500 sectors were down, although the 3.6% slip by healthcare was outdone by materials, which was off 3.7%.Materials was weighed down by Nucor Corp - down 8.3% after hitting a record high after posting earnings on Thursday - and Freeport-McMoRan Inc, which slipped 6.8% as investors fretted over how interest rate hikes would impact copper miners. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 981.36 points, or 2.82%, to 33,811.4, the S&P 500 lost 121.88 points, or 2.77%, to 4,271.78 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 335.36 points, or 2.55%, to 12,839.29.For the week, the Dow dipped 1.9%, the S&P dropped 2.8%, and the Nasdaq declined 3.8%.The prospect of a more hawkish Fed has led to a rocky start to the year for equities, with Friday's sell-off taking declines on both the S&P and Dow since the start of the year beyond 10%.The trend is more pronounced in tech and growth shares whose valuations are more vulnerable to rising bond yields. The Nasdaq is down 17.9% in 2022.Earnings are due next week for the four biggest U.S. companies by market capitalization: Apple, Microsoft , Amazon and Google parent Alphabet. The quartet declined between 2.4% and 4.1% on Friday. Meta Platforms Inc, which also has results on deck for next week, dropped 2.1%, taking its losses in the last three days to 15.3%.Investors are worried after streaming giant Netflix Inc's dismal earnings earlier this week sent shockwaves through big tech and stay-at-home darlings which benefited from pandemic factors such as lockdown measures. The volume on U.S. exchanges was 11.66 billion shares, compared with the 11.67 billion average for the full session over the last 20 trading days.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":247,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9083453171,"gmtCreate":1650157401427,"gmtModify":1676534657584,"author":{"id":"3582020589486945","authorId":"3582020589486945","name":"trader1216","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/4a8345c6f394175113dd9bd32405ba08","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3582020589486945","authorIdStr":"3582020589486945"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Thanks for reminder","listText":"Thanks for reminder","text":"Thanks for reminder","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9083453171","repostId":"1133070824","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1133070824","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1649399100,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1133070824?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-04-08 14:25","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Reminder: Holiday Trading Hours during Good Friday and Easter","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1133070824","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"U.S. stock markets will be closed Friday, April 15in observance of Good Friday. The New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq will resume normal trading hours on Monday. The Securities Industry and Financi","content":"

U.S. stock markets will be closed Friday, April 15 in observance of Good Friday.

The New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq will resume normal trading hours on Monday.

The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association recommended the U.S. bond market close Friday. However, by dollar-cost averaging, holding for the long term, and reframing sell-offs as opportunities, it is possible to remain optimistic when facing a correction.

Speaking to this third point, let us look at three heavily sold-off stocks that offer the potential to set you up for life.

Pinterest

Driven by its mission "to help people discover the things they love, and inspire them to do those things in their daily lives," idea-incubator Pinterest ( PINS 1.01% ) puts a twist on social media.

In a world facing mental health concerns related to social media usage, Pinterest flips the script by providing hope and inspiration -- even if it's only on an aspirational level.

Perhaps thanks to this unique connection to its user base, the company saw its share price reach a high of almost $89 in 2021.

However, after reaching that high mark, Pinterest saw its monthly active users (MAUs) drop from 478 million in the first quarter of 2021 to 431 million at the end of the year. This drop, paired with PayPal's abandoned acquisition for around $70 per share, has sent the stock down 70% from its peak.

So what makes Pinterest interesting now?

First, the fears around this MAU decline seem overstated, considering it grew from 367 million in 2019 to 459 million the following year thanks to a pandemic-aided surge. Its subsequent decline in 2021 was far from surprising in hindsight as most of the world reopened, temporarily setting apps like Pinterest on the back burner.

Second, despite this pullback in MAUs, its global average revenue per user (ARPU) of $1.93 continues to shine. Up 23% year over year in the fourth quarter, this metric strengthened with a growing ARPU of $7.43 domestically and an international ARPU that was up 62% to $0.57. As Pinterest continues to roll out its shoppable content and advertising base internationally, look for its massive user base to become increasingly profitable to the company.

Finally, according to Comparably, Pinterest has a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of +50. NPS is rated on a scale of -100 to +100 and captures whether a company's customers would recommend the product. Generally, a positive score is good, while anything above +30 is excellent, making Pinterest's score stand out.

Best yet for investors, businesses with excellent NPS scores tend to outperform the market thanks to happier customers. As a result of this NPS score, its remaining international growth runway, and a meager price to free cash flow ratio of just 23, buying and holding Pinterest at these prices could move your retirement years ahead of schedule.

Zoom Video Communications

Like Pinterest, Zoom Video Communications ( ZM -0.46% ) boasts an excellent NPS of +53 thanks to its suite of hybrid work-enabling products. Famous for its video conferencing software that has become a verb, Zoom is creating new products, its most recent being the Zoom Contact Center.

This new offering will act as a customer engagement solution for Zoom's clients and highlights the somewhat quiet growth optionality hidden behind the company's core video product. Whether it's the Zoom phone, events, meetings, or rooms, and now its contact center, the company's unified communications platform is poised to evolve to meet the needs of its ever-expanding customer base.

However, with decelerating growth rates that saw revenue increase only 21% in the fiscal 2022 fourth quarter -- compared to growth of 369% the same time last year -- Zoom has seen its stock punished.

Now 70% below its 52-week highs, the market is pricing Zoom like it faces an existential crisis, but that couldn't be further from the truth. After generating $1.5 billion in free cash flow (FCF) over the last year, Zoom now trades at just 25 times FCF.

Data by YCharts.

Any time a company's price to free cash flow ratio approaches its sales growth rate as is the case here, it catches my attention as reasonably priced growth.

Zoom's promising NPS, product optionality, and cheap FCF generation make it a prime sell-off stock to consider holding forever.

DocuSign

Rounding out our trio of high NPS stocks is DocuSign ( DOCU 1.84% ) and its excellent score of +53. Led by its popular e-signature product, the company now has its eyes on expanding its broader Agreement Cloud offering.

This Agreement Cloud consists of four key pillars: prepare, sign, act, and manage. As e-signature is by far DocuSign's most prominent product, it intends to use a land-and-expand business model to grow its sales.

After getting its foot in the door with nearly 1.2 million customers thanks to its e-signature product, it now aims to build upon these relationships by offering anything and everything related to the agreement space.

However, with DocuSign seeing its billings growth drop from 56% in fiscal 2021 to 37% in fiscal 2022, the market has sent the stock's price downward.

It has also declined nearly 70% from its 52-week high, but this reaction from the market is starting to look overdone. Despite this slowdown in billings growth, DocuSign still posted 45% revenue growth last year and a good net dollar retention rate of 119% in the latest quarter.

Net dollar retention measures how much DocuSign's existing customers grew their spending with anything above 100% showing expansion. However, by dollar-cost averaging, holding for the long term, and reframing sell-offs as opportunities, it is possible to remain optimistic when facing a correction.Speaking to this third point, let us look at three heavily sold-off stocks that offer the potential to set you up for life.PinterestDriven by its mission \"to help people discover the things they love, and inspire them to do those things in their daily lives,\" idea-incubator Pinterest ( PINS 1.01% ) puts a twist on social media. In a world facing mental health concerns related to social media usage, Pinterest flips the script by providing hope and inspiration -- even if it's only on an aspirational level.Perhaps thanks to this unique connection to its user base, the company saw its share price reach a high of almost $89 in 2021.However, after reaching that high mark, Pinterest saw its monthly active users (MAUs) drop from 478 million in the first quarter of 2021 to 431 million at the end of the year. This drop, paired with PayPal's abandoned acquisition for around $70 per share, has sent the stock down 70% from its peak.So what makes Pinterest interesting now?First, the fears around this MAU decline seem overstated, considering it grew from 367 million in 2019 to 459 million the following year thanks to a pandemic-aided surge. Its subsequent decline in 2021 was far from surprising in hindsight as most of the world reopened, temporarily setting apps like Pinterest on the back burner.Second, despite this pullback in MAUs, its global average revenue per user (ARPU) of $1.93 continues to shine. Generally, a positive score is good, while anything above +30 is excellent, making Pinterest's score stand out.Best yet for investors, businesses with excellent NPS scores tend to outperform the market thanks to happier customers. As a result of this NPS score, its remaining international growth runway, and a meager price to free cash flow ratio of just 23, buying and holding Pinterest at these prices could move your retirement years ahead of schedule.Zoom Video CommunicationsLike Pinterest, Zoom Video Communications ( ZM -0.46% ) boasts an excellent NPS of +53 thanks to its suite of hybrid work-enabling products. After generating $1.5 billion in free cash flow (FCF) over the last year, Zoom now trades at just 25 times FCF.Data by YCharts.Any time a company's price to free cash flow ratio approaches its sales growth rate as is the case here, it catches my attention as reasonably priced growth.Zoom's promising NPS, product optionality, and cheap FCF generation make it a prime sell-off stock to consider holding forever.DocuSignRounding out our trio of high NPS stocks is DocuSign ( DOCU 1.84% ) and its excellent score of +53. Despite this slowdown in billings growth, DocuSign still posted 45% revenue growth last year and a good net dollar retention rate of 119% in the latest quarter.Net dollar retention measures how much DocuSign's existing customers grew their spending with anything above 100% showing expansion. As time passes, this metric will be vital to investors as it will highlight how the Agreement Cloud's growth is faring.Trading at 44 times free cash flow, DocuSign is the most expensive stock of this trio -- and the fastest growing. However, with its growth rate above its price to free cash flow, the stock still looks attractively priced after its sell-off and could be an excellent holding for long-term investors.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":14,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9036602209,"gmtCreate":1647051752616,"gmtModify":1676534191837,"author":{"id":"3582020589486945","authorId":"3582020589486945","name":"trader1216","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/4a8345c6f394175113dd9bd32405ba08","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3582020589486945","authorIdStr":"3582020589486945"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Unsettling ","listText":"Unsettling ","text":"Unsettling","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9036602209","repostId":"2218944245","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2218944245","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com brings you the latest news from around the world, covering breaking news in markets, business, politics, entertainment and technology","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Reuters","id":"1036604489","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/443ce19704621c837795676028cec868"},"pubTimestamp":1647033773,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2218944245?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-03-12 05:22","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Wall Street Slumps in Broad Swoon to End Bumpy Week","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2218944245","media":"Reuters","summary":"March 11 (Reuters) - Major U.S. stock indexes stumbled on Friday as tech and growth shares led a bro","content":"

March 11 (Reuters) - Major U.S. stock indexes stumbled on Friday as tech and growth shares led a broad decline and investors worried about the conflict in Ukraine while attention turned to the Federal Reserve's policy meeting next week.

At the end of a volatile week, indexes had opened higher after Russian President Vladimir Putin said there were "certain positive shifts" in talks with Ukraine, without providing any details, but stocks then faded during the session.

All 11 S&P 500 sectors ended down, with communication services falling 1.9% and technology dropping 1.8%.

“After we saw a bounce in the middle of the week, there is still too much uncertainty out there,” said Matt Maley, chief market strategist at Miller Tabak. Let’s go in that order.

The company commands a market capitalization of about $1.9 trillion, so of course, it has many assets. However, its main assets are Google.com and YouTube.com. Not only are these the two most popular websites in the world — akin to owning Boardwalk and Park Place in the gameMonopoly — but they also boast strong growth.

That leads us to our second point. In combination with its cloud unit and other divisions, Alphabet continues to churn out impressive growth. Last quarter, revenue climbedmore than 32% YOY. This year, analysts expectsales growth of 16.7%. And for 2023, those estimates sit at 15.6%. Meanwhile, earnings growth forecasts are similar.

When it comes to free cash flow, Alphabet generated $67billioninFCF last year. Additionally, the rise of online and digital sales has only fueled this move, as consumers obviously find it easy to shop.

Specifically, with these two businesses, investors have been quick to critique the valuation by pointing out that Visa stock trades at more than 17 times its trailing 12-month revenue. In the past, this valuation has also been an issue.Even during generous market periods, that’s a rich valuation for many growth stocks. However, in those instances, investors aren’t taking profits into account for the growth stocks, because many don’t have any. And in the case of Visa, it’s incredibly profitable.

Overall, the company sports gross profit margins of almost 80% and net profit margins of 51.6%. Like the latter, MasterCard also tends to trade at a high price-sales (P/S) ratio. While many will glance at this metric and dismiss these stocks, it’s a foolish way to evaluate them. Admittedly the valuations have crept higher, but from this standpoint, they have almost always been elevated. And yet, investors have reaped enormous rewards by staying long Visa and MasterCard.

In fact, 76% of revenue is converted into gross profit and almost half of revenue falls to the bottom line. In turn, MasterCard boasts a net profit margin of 46%. Of course, like Visa, these margins are not back to pre-pandemic levels; But they do continue to climb.

Collectively, the major risk to these businesses isn’t digital sales, cryptocurrencies or otherwise. It’s a recession, either globally or domestically. Lower consumer spending will be a big net negative to these stocks specifically since spending is what drives the top and bottom line.

NvidiaSource: Hairem / Shutterstock.com

As one of the greatest companies in the market as well, Nvidia caters to multiple end-markets that are enjoying long-term secular growth. Some of those end markets include:

Datacenter, cloud computing, supercomputing, artificial intelligence and machine learning, graphics, gaming, autonomous driving and automotive, drones, robotics, the metaverse and more.

Moreover, when you look at those markets, it’s pretty clear to see the trends. Do customers want faster computers, better graphics, and more responsive gaming and control (for drones, robotics, autonomous driving)? Do they want faster cloud-based applications and are they generating more data?

The answers to these questions all point to more demand for Nvidia’s products In turn, it’s the main reason I believe this firm will eventually command a $1 trillion market cap.

Blue-Chip Stocks to Buy: Starbucks Source: Grand Warszawski / Shutterstock.com

Last but not least, we have a dominant food- and drinks-based retailer with Starbucks. Therefore, it makes a great option among the top blue-chip stocks to buy.Blue-Chip Stocks to Buy: MasterCard Source: Alexander Yakimov / Shutterstock.comMasterCard is very similar to Visa. Of course, like Visa, these margins are not back to pre-pandemic levels; But they do continue to climb.Collectively, the major risk to these businesses isn’t digital sales, cryptocurrencies or otherwise. It’s a recession, either globally or domestically. Lower consumer spending will be a big net negative to these stocks specifically since spending is what drives the top and bottom line.NvidiaSource: Hairem / Shutterstock.comAs one of the greatest companies in the market as well, Nvidia caters to multiple end-markets that are enjoying long-term secular growth. Some of those end markets include:Datacenter, cloud computing, supercomputing, artificial intelligence and machine learning, graphics, gaming, autonomous driving and automotive, drones, robotics, the metaverse and more. Moreover, when you look at those markets, it’s pretty clear to see the trends. Do customers want faster computers, better graphics, and more responsive gaming and control (for drones, robotics, autonomous driving)? Do they want faster cloud-based applications and are they generating more data? The answers to these questions all point to more demand for Nvidia’s products In turn, it’s the main reason I believe this firm will eventually command a $1 trillion market cap.Blue-Chip Stocks to Buy: Starbucks Source: Grand Warszawski / Shutterstock.comLast but not least, we have a dominant food- and drinks-based retailer with Starbucks. Aside from routinely landing among the top spots in thePiper Sandlerteen survey, Starbucks remains a go-to “third place” for consumers of all ages. The company may be out of its strong growth days, but Starbucks still generates impressive cash flow and growth. With that in mind, analysts expectabout 13% revenue growth this year, then a steady 8% to 9% growth ineach of the next three years. On the earnings front, analysts expect roughly 18% earnings growth this year, followed by more than 17% growth next year.Furthermore, the recent dip in the stock has driven Starbucks’ dividend yield up above 2%.While it’s not winning many income investors over at that rate, it’s not bad for those of us with a long-term horizon that isn’t necessarily focused solely on dividend income. However, the company has made this yield a priority.Starbucks has grown its dividend for 11 years now, with afive-year average growth rateof about 15.9%. So, clearly, it’s a focus. Thus, as long as the world is drinking coffee, Starbucks will be a winner.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":130,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9010310564,"gmtCreate":1648257033975,"gmtModify":1676534322436,"author":{"id":"3582020589486945","authorId":"3582020589486945","name":"trader1216","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/4a8345c6f394175113dd9bd32405ba08","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3582020589486945","authorIdStr":"3582020589486945"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Hopefully recovery is sustained","listText":"Hopefully recovery is sustained","text":"Hopefully recovery is sustained","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9010310564","repostId":"2222052834","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2222052834","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com brings you the latest news from around the world, covering breaking news in markets, business, politics, entertainment and technology","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Reuters","id":"1036604489","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/443ce19704621c837795676028cec868"},"pubTimestamp":1648249343,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2222052834?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-03-26 07:02","market":"us","language":"en","title":"US STOCKS-S&P 500 Ends Higher with Financials as Treasury Yields Jump","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2222052834","media":"Reuters","summary":"* Financials rise with 10-yr yield* Tech shares down, weighing on Nasdaq* Utilities sector hits reco","content":"

* Financials rise with 10-yr yield

* Tech shares down, weighing on Nasdaq

* Utilities sector hits record high

* Indexes: Dow up 0.4%, S&P 500 up 0.5%, Nasdaq down 0.2%

* For the week, Dow up 0.3%, S&P 500 up 1.8%, Nasdaq up 2%

NEW YORK, March 25 (Reuters) - With the prices of oil and gasoline soaring, consumers and global governments are looking toward a future of renewable energy and less ICE vehicles. While the overall craziness around Tesla from years back seemed to have settled down, the future of the company could actually be reaching a critical point rather soon.

Part of the bull case for last year was the opening of two new factories that would help with the company's next leg of growth. As we've seen with a number of past Tesla items, delays ensued, but things are finally progressing. The first deliveries from these factories should start in the coming months, although they aren't likely to make any meaningful contributions until much later this year. In terms of pure volume growth, the Berlin and Austin facilities are more important items for next year's delivery surge.

Now that these factories are starting to produce vehicles, I'm curious to see how street analysts react. As I've detailed in previous articles, the street has been extremely conservative with regard to Tesla in recent quarters. As the table below shows, one analyst even sees Q4 revenues this year coming in below last year's Q4 total sales figure. Most Tesla bulls see at least an extra 125,000 deliveries in this year's Q4, so how is it possible that the company report lower revenue? These extremely low estimates continue to drag overall averages down, which helps Tesla report delivery, revenue, and earnings beats that don't truly reflect the reality here.

Tesla Revenue Estimates(Seeking Alpha Estimates Page)

As for the current quarter, total revenues are expected to be down a little sequentially, implying flat to slightly higher deliveries. That implies around 310,000 deliveries for Q1, a bit below my current expectation for 324,000. We got decent numbers out of China for January, and we're expected to get February numbers rather soon. Perhaps good data on that front will get the street average up a bit to a more realistic expectation.

With gasoline prices soaring in recent weeks, the spotlight on electric vehicles has certainly increased. However, Tesla also faces a hit from the Russia situation as the country is a key nickel producer, and other commodity prices have also soared. Cobalt, copper, and lithium carbonate prices are on the rise as well, which could dent Tesla's margins in the coming quarters unless the company raises prices again. The consumers being hurt the most by rising energy prices can't just go out and buy EVs that start at $60,000, which will impact the ongoing shift to electric vehicles.

Since Tesla unveiled the Cybertruck, for instance, prices of copper have nearly doubled, while cobalt, nickel, and lithium prices have more than doubled. That's going to make it hard for Tesla to achieve that sub $40,000 price point, unless it wants to lose a bit of money. For those arguing about massive battery savings coming up, just remember that the Model 3 starts at nearly $45,000 currently, and that's a much smaller vehicle and one that has been in mass production for years. Tesla is currently estimated to have well over a million reservations for the Cybertruck, so it will be interesting to see how many orders are canceled if prices jump 10%, 25%, or more once the vehicle actually comes to market.

Perhaps the biggest risk for Tesla currently doesn't actually involve everyday operations, as there are a number of ongoing high profile lawsuits involving the company and or Elon Musk. As the company's10-K filing details, a decision on the lawsuit against the SolarCity acquisition is due in the coming months. A trial related to the 2018 CEO award is scheduled for April, while another case involving the $420 going private transaction is scheduled for trial in May. At the same time, the SECis reportedly looking into Elon and Kimbal Musk for alleged insider trading charges. These legal actions could have widespread ramifications for Tesla, its executives, and board members, but to what degree is uncertain at this point.

As for Tesla shares, they remain in a very interesting place currently. Despite all the positive potential news for EV and solar lately, the stock has been hit with the overall market. Monday's close below $805 puts the stock well below the average street price target of $958. As the chart below shows, shares have recently lost the 200-day moving average (orange line). Without a rebound in the near term, that sets up the possibility of the dreaded death cross over the next few months, as the 50-day moving average (purple line) could cross below its longer term counterpart.

Tesla Chart With Moving Averages(Yahoo Finance)

In the end, Tesla may be approaching a key point in its history over the next couple of months. The Berlin and Austin factories are set to start contributing to the growth story, coming at a time where consumers are feeling the pain of higher gas prices thanks to the Russian war in Ukraine. With the prices of oil and gasoline soaring, consumers and global governments are looking toward a future of renewable energy and less ICE vehicles. While the overall craziness around Tesla from years back seemed to have settled down, the future of the company could actually be reaching a critical point rather soon.Part of the bull case for last year was the opening of two new factories that would help with the company's next leg of growth. These extremely low estimates continue to drag overall averages down, which helps Tesla report delivery, revenue, and earnings beats that don't truly reflect the reality here.Tesla Revenue Estimates(Seeking Alpha Estimates Page)As for the current quarter, total revenues are expected to be down a little sequentially, implying flat to slightly higher deliveries. The consumers being hurt the most by rising energy prices can't just go out and buy EVs that start at $60,000, which will impact the ongoing shift to electric vehicles.Since Tesla unveiled the Cybertruck, for instance, prices of copper have nearly doubled, while cobalt, nickel, and lithium prices have more than doubled. Tesla is currently estimated to have well over a million reservations for the Cybertruck, so it will be interesting to see how many orders are canceled if prices jump 10%, 25%, or more once the vehicle actually comes to market.Perhaps the biggest risk for Tesla currently doesn't actually involve everyday operations, as there are a number of ongoing high profile lawsuits involving the company and or Elon Musk. Without a rebound in the near term, that sets up the possibility of the dreaded death cross over the next few months, as the 50-day moving average (purple line) could cross below its longer term counterpart.Tesla Chart With Moving Averages(Yahoo Finance)In the end, Tesla may be approaching a key point in its history over the next couple of months. The Berlin and Austin factories are set to start contributing to the growth story, coming at a time where consumers are feeling the pain of higher gas prices thanks to the Russian war in Ukraine. Unfortunately for the company, the shift to EVs may face a stiff headwind if commodity prices continue to soar and make these vehicles much more expensive. While many eyes remain on the business itself, I will really be watching the courtroom as Tesla and Elon Musk face a number of major lawsuits. Investors are hoping the growth story can push this stock to new highs moving forward, but the overall market weakness is limiting upside currently.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":504,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9013979103,"gmtCreate":1648682523921,"gmtModify":1676534376233,"author":{"id":"3582020589486945","authorId":"3582020589486945","name":"trader1216","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/4a8345c6f394175113dd9bd32405ba08","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3582020589486945","authorIdStr":"3582020589486945"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Not sure about this move","listText":"Not sure about this move","text":"Not sure about this move","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9013979103","repostId":"2223950802","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"2223950802","pubTimestamp":1648649952,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2223950802?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-03-30 22:19","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Why Cathie Wood Just Dumped Tesla for This Hot EV Stock","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2223950802","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"Cathie Wood makes a big move and buy Nio stock for the first time.","content":"

Famed investor Cathie Wood is a bull on electric vehicles (EVs), as the industry fits her policy of investing in disruption and innovation growth stories, including autonomous technology. That's what seems to have caught Cathie Wood's attention, and she evidently bought the dip in this hot EV stock.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":151,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9951490069,"gmtCreate":1673533997551,"gmtModify":1676538852341,"author":{"id":"3582020589486945","authorId":"3582020589486945","name":"trader1216","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/4a8345c6f394175113dd9bd32405ba08","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3582020589486945","authorIdStr":"3582020589486945"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Thanks ","listText":"Thanks ","text":"Thanks","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9951490069","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":229,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9925386409,"gmtCreate":1671932180201,"gmtModify":1676538612102,"author":{"id":"3582020589486945","authorId":"3582020589486945","name":"trader1216","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/4a8345c6f394175113dd9bd32405ba08","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3582020589486945","authorIdStr":"3582020589486945"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Nice","listText":"Nice","text":"Nice","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9925386409","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":90,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9086789470,"gmtCreate":1650497732565,"gmtModify":1676534736877,"author":{"id":"3582020589486945","authorId":"3582020589486945","name":"trader1216","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/4a8345c6f394175113dd9bd32405ba08","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3582020589486945","authorIdStr":"3582020589486945"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Awesome! And while inflation recently has proven surprisingly rapid -- consumer prices climbed 5% in May from a year earlier -- Powell and other Fed officials have argued that the rise is mostly transitory, the result of temporary bottlenecks as the economy reopens and low readings a year ago when it shut down.
\n
Price Pressures Heat Up
\n
U.S. core and headline inflation both increased more than forecast in May
\n
“Why would the Fed try to fix bottleneck-driven inflation by signaling earlier rate hikes and hitting demand?” Julia Coronado, president of MacroPolicy Perspectives, asked in a June 14 tweet.
\n
Instead, after years of falling short of their inflation goal, policy makers will “err on the side of patience” in scaling back stimulus, said former Fed official David Wilcox, who is now at the Peterson Institute for International Economics.
\n
Powell’s past and potential future also argue for patience. As a Fed governor in 2013, he was among those pushing then-Chairman Ben Bernanke to roll back quantitative easing, only to see the financial markets throw a “taper tantrum” at the mere suggestion such a policy shift was coming.
\n
With his own term as Fed chair up next February, Powell has an extra incentive to avoid a repeat of such turbulence.
\n
“While the Fed is an independent institution, its leadership, up for reappointment next year, could not totally ignore the dim view the administration and Democratic Congress would take toward a shift to a more pre-emptive policy stance,” Deutsche Bank chief economist David Folkerts-Landau and colleagues wrote in a June 7 report.
\n
Some three-quarters of economists surveyed by Bloomberg last week said they expect the Fed to announce between August and year-end that it will begin paring its purchases, with one-third forecasting it won’t fire the starting gun until December.
\n
It’s not just the timing of the taper that’s up for discussion. So too are its composition and pace.
\n
The Fed has faced criticism from within and outside the organization for continuing to buy $40 billion of mortgage-backed securities per month while house prices are surging. Vice Chair Randal Quarles said last month that the Fed would “certainly” look at that issue in the context of its taper discussions.
\n
Steady Pace
\n
The last time the Fed wound up a quantitative easing program, in 2014, it shrank its asset purchases at a steady pace.
\n
“Investors may be lulled into a false sense of security by that experience,” former Fed official William English told a June 8 Deutsche Bank webinar. Given all the uncertainty surrounding the post pandemic economy, “it’s not necessarily going to be the case that the Fed is going to taper in steady steps.”
\n
Much may depend on the financial markets. American Enterprise Institute resident fellow Desmond Lachman said the ultra-easy monetary policy being pursued by the Fed and other major central banks has led to an “everything asset price bubble,” with stock, credit and housing markets all frothy.
\n
“The chance of the bubble bursting is all the greater if the Fed is behind the curve,” he said.
\n
English, who is now at the Yale School of Management, said it’s going to be politically hard for the Fed to wind up its asset purchases and increase interest rates because that will boost the government’s borrowing costs.
\n
“The Fed is going to come under a lot of criticism for raising rates and making budget choices for the Congress considerably tougher,” he said, adding, “At some level, the Fed needs to both normalize policy but also normalize its relationship with the government.”
","source":"lsy1584095487587","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; As a Fed governor in 2013, he was among those pushing then-Chairman Ben Bernanke to roll back quantitative easing, only to see the financial markets throw a “taper tantrum” at the mere suggestion such a policy shift was coming.\nWith his own term as Fed chair up next February, Powell has an extra incentive to avoid a repeat of such turbulence.\n“While the Fed is an independent institution, its leadership, up for reappointment next year, could not totally ignore the dim view the administration and Democratic Congress would take toward a shift to a more pre-emptive policy stance,” Deutsche Bank chief economist David Folkerts-Landau and colleagues wrote in a June 7 report.\nSome three-quarters of economists surveyed by Bloomberg last week said they expect the Fed to announce between August and year-end that it will begin paring its purchases, with one-third forecasting it won’t fire the starting gun until December.\nIt’s not just the timing of the taper that’s up for discussion. So too are its composition and pace.\nThe Fed has faced criticism from within and outside the organization for continuing to buy $40 billion of mortgage-backed securities per month while house prices are surging. Vice Chair Randal Quarles said last month that the Fed would “certainly” look at that issue in the context of its taper discussions.\nSteady Pace\nThe last time the Fed wound up a quantitative easing program, in 2014, it shrank its asset purchases at a steady pace.\n“Investors may be lulled into a false sense of security by that experience,” former Fed official William English told a June 8 Deutsche Bank webinar. Given all the uncertainty surrounding the post pandemic economy, “it’s not necessarily going to be the case that the Fed is going to taper in steady steps.”\nMuch may depend on the financial markets. American Enterprise Institute resident fellow Desmond Lachman said the ultra-easy monetary policy being pursued by the Fed and other major central banks has led to an “everything asset price bubble,” with stock, credit and housing markets all frothy.\n“The chance of the bubble bursting is all the greater if the Fed is behind the curve,” he said.\nEnglish, who is now at the Yale School of Management, said it’s going to be politically hard for the Fed to wind up its asset purchases and increase interest rates because that will boost the government’s borrowing costs.\n“The Fed is going to come under a lot of criticism for raising rates and making budget choices for the Congress considerably tougher,” he said, adding, “At some level, the Fed needs to both normalize policy but also normalize its relationship with the government.”","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":410,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":262067883171864,"gmtCreate":1705016162957,"gmtModify":1705016166947,"author":{"id":"3582020589486945","authorId":"3582020589486945","name":"trader1216","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/4a8345c6f394175113dd9bd32405ba08","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3582020589486945","authorIdStr":"3582020589486945"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Thank
