$Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$ what would you do differently if TIGR rose higher than your unit cost? I still believe the business model of TIGR and $Futu Holdings Limited(FUTU)$ remain sustainable over the long run. The convenience and news updates these apps provided to retail investors like us have made investment so much beginner friendly. Hence, I will still do batch selling at different price points. In the meantime, good luck folks and happy buying the dips (if your conviction is strong!)
$Twitter(TWTR)$has experienced lots of happenings these few days as a result of $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ founder Elon Musk's sudden involvement in the company. In summary: 1) Elon Musk acquired significant number of shares in Twitter. 2) Elon Musk was offered to sit in the board of Twitter but he rejected.3) Elon Musk made an offer to buy over 100% of the company. So, what will happen next? The management, board and other shareholders of Twitter has to decide whether they will like to take up Elon Musk's offer. Let's consider the possible implications to the two scenarios below.1) Take up Elon Musk's offer: The current share price will probably soar to nearing Elon Musk's proposed
$Apple(AAPL)$I remembered that time when Apple dropped to 120, investment analysts gave all sorts of theories to say apple will fall to 100 and below. It did not happen. Buy the dip and enjoy the rise!
$Lion-OCBC Sec HSTECH S$(HST.SI)$ETF portfolio contains big strong china tech firms like tencent, alibaba and xiaomi. All are making revenue and profits and growing. Even tencent starts to repurchase shares. Seeing red? Just buy and hold for 5 years minimally. This is investment, not an instant rich scheme.
$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ in the midst of global sell-off (i wonder what will robo advisor do - join in the sell off?), Elon Musk decided to make things even more complicated by reviving the lawsuit with OpenAI. The stock market hates uncertainties yet Elon Musk enjoys triggering them. Buy shares with caution! If you are a long term investor, you might want to start your bargain hunt for cheap stocks now - $Palantir Technologies Inc.(PLTR)$ $Futu Holdings Limited(FUTU)$
When the price of S&P500, $Palantir Technologies Inc.(PLTR)$ $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ $Alibaba(BABA)$ and other China stocks went for a free fall, what is your first reaction? Sell your stock to cut losses and prevent further fall? Don't! A market pullback is a common and expected phenomeon in the stock market. Price is expected to go up and down, not merely linearly up. THIS IS THE BEST TIME TO BUILD UP THE POSITION IN YOUR FAVOURITE STOCKS AND EARN BIG! For me, I have added my positions in S&P500, PLTR, BABA when they fell more than 10%. Now that the uptrend ha
Sinking ship $AMC Entertainment(AMC)$ raising capital but never disclose plans for growth, expansion, profitability and recovery. Just keep selling stocks and diluting present shareholder value. The only chance that there will be a sudden reversal is when the additional stock is sold at a much higher value per share as compared to what it is currently trading in the stock market. Who dare to trade on this stock for a possible penny stock gain? [LOL]
$KEPPEL DC REIT(AJBU.SI)$more shares are issued to fund the expansion of the new data centre. In the long term, this is a good sign since the company is growing / expanding. Buy more!
Having used both apps before, my preference is on $Meta Platforms, Inc.(FB)$due to its easy to use features and being an all-in-one platform? News? Video? Latest products? Livestreams? Games? Marketplace? Connecting with friends? Life status update? FB has it all. Mark's envision of it being the metaverse is not something unimaginable.Nonetheless, $Twitter(TWTR)$is great at capturing quick messages - an epitome of free speech. Will the buyout by Elon materialise without hiccups? Will Twitter be transformed to a highly sought after app? The uncertainty ahead is truly exciting! Are you Team FB or Team Twitter? $Palantir Technologies Inc.(PLTR)$ Still recalled days ago when people were bashing this stock as loss-making, unable to turn profits for being in the industry for so long, and some people claiming to have more than 35 years of experience saying that this share is not worth a buy. Ultimately, it is important to understand the values that the company is delivering to its consumers to understand its sustainability in the long run. Is it something that more people will adopt in the near future? Loss making may be temporary, everyone has to start somewhere. When we first came to this Earth, we are all loss making as well (parents have to spend tons of money on our education and daily needs). Even big companies like
Inflation is at its peak, which is likely to invite FED to increase rate again anytime soon to curb the inflation. This will in turn lead to recession. Lower income, lower purchasing power, less purchase, less revenue and profits made by firm, and the downtrend continues.Sound scary? The good thing is, recession is not forever. The economy will recover, and the firms will do better than before again [smile] In the meantime, what should we invest in then? As a safe choice, I recommend DCA into $Vanguard S&P 500 ETF(VOO)$on a regular basis (e.g. monthly). VOO is basically S&P 500 ETF, tracking the share price of top 500 US companies. This is supposed to be representative of US economy. A firm may underperform eventually, b
$Grab Holdings(GRAB)$ has been hammered badly today with a plunge of ~8% due to the news of its ride-hailing rival (Ryde) filing for IPO. Personally, I felt that the overselling is overdone. Ryde filing for IPO does not result in any changes to the business outlook of Grab. Is Grab going to have a cut in revenue or lose a revenue stream just because Ryde is filing for IPO? Certainly no. Hence, I remain optimistic over Grab's prospects, whether it is its business or its share price. The overselling may present a good opportunity for people to buy the dips, and buy low sell high (or hold for long and sell higher). Who is getting ready to buy the dips of $Grab Holdings(GRAB)$&
$Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$ This is the stock that taught me the importance of taking (small) profits when things get too optimistic back in 2021. I remembered the stock was hitting near 30 then and my small position then was very green. However, in a blink of an eye, it was hammered by all those new regulations to 10% of its all-time high. I continued to buy the dips, albeit a small position at a time, till it accummulated to a big position. One week ago, it finally turned green after 3 years of vesting. This time, I decided to sell at different price milestones (2), in different small portions. I missed the third milestone at $15 but on hindsight, I am glad that I sold so now there was less volatility with this stock and I can use the capital t
$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ this stock always give surprises and fluctuate greatly depending on the random news for the day, despite the fact that it is a company with great business fundamentals and the market leader for the EV market. As volatile as meme stocks like $AMC Entertainment(AMC)$ yet as stable as the tech giants like $Alphabet(GOOG)$ . One of the best stocks for short term trades and long term investment. Thank you for the profit opportunity!
Extracted from a recent post from Dow Jones: "AMC's total cash and cash equivalents at the end of 2023 were $884.3 million, up from $631.5 at the end of 2022. The company's total debt including finance leases at the end of 2023 was around $4.56 billion, down from $5.01 billion at the end of 2022." I don't know about you, but I find the debt that $AMC Entertainment(AMC)$ has landed itself into is too alarming. $4.56 billions??? Even with the upcoming sale of common stock, it can hardly cover much of the debt! People with simple finance knowledge will know that debts balloon to a greater amount easily due to the compound interest effect. As much as I am tempted to buy low and sell high on this meme stock, my
$Vanguard S&P 500 ETF(VOO)$zoomed out and see long term, don't worry it will be fine [smile] the best time to buy a stock is now, as time in the market wins timing the market [smile]
What goes down will come up, the same has happened to many stocks like $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ , $Palantir Technologies Inc.(PLTR)$ , I believe the same will happen to $AMC Entertainment(AMC)$ which is being hammered low to $10 or $1 (pre reverse split price). AMC is a large cinema business with proper assets and provides entertainment service which public enjoys. While the business outlook is not very rosy (there are places where cinemas are ceasing their operation), the recent plunge in share price are too exaggerated. Hence, a rise in AMC share price
We have witnessed great dive in $Netflix(NFLX)$ lstock in the past few days. 37% plummet? The last we saw this happening was in the China tuition stocks when China banned paid tuition services. Now that the share price has come to a new low, is it time to jump to buy the dips, or to steer clear from it?I always believe that in the long run, the share price of the stock will reflect the intrinsic value of the company. Ask yourself, 5 years down the road, will you still be using Netflix service? Are there still rooms for Netflix to expand its business or customer bases? Will Netflix still have a competitive advantage over others? In my view, Netflix is the new norm of how people get their tv entertainment. I believe Netflix is here to stay. By of
