Shares of Reddit iconGameStop Corp.jumped as much as 2,500% in January after day traders noticed its short interest had ballooned to record levels.
\n
Investors looking for other stocks that might fit that mold will find nearly 230 firms with a market capitalization of at least $100 million and short interest of 15% or more, according to S3 Partners data compiled by Bloomberg. More than 80% of those names have managed positive returns over the last month with the average gain sitting at about 18%, while the S&P 500 Index rose 2.3%.
\n

\n
Among the most heavily shorted stocks are names like Clover Health Investments Corp.,Workhorse Group Inc. and Geo Group Inc., which have already caught the attention of retail traders in recent days.
\n
Meanwhile,Bumble Inc. and Petco Health and Wellness Co., both fresh off initial public offerings this year, find themselves on the outside looking in as part of the few companies on the list that haven’t seen outsized gains over the last month. Joining them is ad-tech firmPubMatic Inc., which boasts the highest short interest at 54%, recreational boat retailer MarineMax Inc. and biotech companyBlack Diamond Therapeutics Inc., which has plunged more than 50% over the last month.
\n

\n
While these sudden rallies can create lucrative returns for investors in the blink of an eye, the extreme volatility that accompanies them can quickly catch traders offside, leaving them holding the bag as shares plunge back to earth.
\n
After opening the week with a 32% gain, Clover Health’s shares jumped by as much as 142% over the next two days. Shares of Reddit iconGameStop Corp.jumped as much as 2,500% in January after day traders noticed its short interest had ballooned to record levels.\nInvestors looking for other stocks that might fit that mold will find nearly 230 firms with a market capitalization of at least $100 million and short interest of 15% or more, according to S3 Partners data compiled by Bloomberg. More than 80% of those names have managed positive returns over the last month with the average gain sitting at about 18%, while the S&P 500 Index rose 2.3%.\n\nAmong the most heavily shorted stocks are names like Clover Health Investments Corp.,Workhorse Group Inc. and Geo Group Inc., which have already caught the attention of retail traders in recent days.\nMeanwhile,Bumble Inc. and Petco Health and Wellness Co., both fresh off initial public offerings this year, find themselves on the outside looking in as part of the few companies on the list that haven’t seen outsized gains over the last month. Joining them is ad-tech firmPubMatic Inc., which boasts the highest short interest at 54%, recreational boat retailer MarineMax Inc. and biotech companyBlack Diamond Therapeutics Inc., which has plunged more than 50% over the last month.\n\nWhile these sudden rallies can create lucrative returns for investors in the blink of an eye, the extreme volatility that accompanies them can quickly catch traders offside, leaving them holding the bag as shares plunge back to earth.\nAfter opening the week with a 32% gain, Clover Health’s shares jumped by as much as 142% over the next two days. But, by the close of trading Thursday, anyone who had bought and held shares after Monday’s pop was now underwater.\n\n“I can’t imagine this is going to continue in the same form or fashion for much longer,” said Barry Schwartz, chief investment officer at Baskin Wealth Management. “Just because something is shorted doesn’t mean buying it is going to work out for you,” he added. “You’re playing with fire.”","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":184,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[{"author":{"id":"3572672230120758","authorId":"3572672230120758","name":"siewbee","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/aecff165cb101c9c535379b2947e2cbe","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"idStr":"3572672230120758","authorIdStr":"3572672230120758"},"content":"Comment back pls","text":"Comment back pls","html":"Comment back pls"}],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":115888982,"gmtCreate":1622970962546,"gmtModify":1704193955142,"author":{"id":"3582177967058391","authorId":"3582177967058391","name":"Jie111","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3d96b6a1d93c30b6f4c32a5b15b3847d","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3582177967058391","authorIdStr":"3582177967058391"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Comment me plsss","listText":"Comment me plsss","text":"Comment me plsss","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/115888982","repostId":"1106312903","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1106312903","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1622855773,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1106312903?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-05 09:16","market":"us","language":"en","title":"U.S. IPO Week Ahead: Digital Payments, Mental Health Services, And More In A Diverse 8 IPO","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1106312903","media":"Renaissance Capital","summary":"Summary\n\nEight IPOs are currently slated to raise $3.7 billion, featuring digital payments, mental h","content":"
Summary
\n
\n
Eight IPOs are currently slated to raise $3.7 billion, featuring digital payments, mental health services, and more.
\n
Payments platform Marqeta plans to raise $1.0 billion at a $12.4 billion market cap.
\n
Chinese online recruitment platform Kanzhun plans to raise $864 million at an $8.2 billion market cap.
\n
\n
Eight IPOs are currently slated to raise $3.7 billion, featuring digital payments, mental health services, and more.
\n
Payments platform Marqeta(MQ) plans to raise $1.0 billion at a $12.4 billion market cap. For leisure and travel stocks like Airbnb that got slammed by pandemic shutdowns, the lifting of Covid curbs means adjusting to a whole new world.

Some tastes people acquired last year as they looked for escapes from lockdown are proving durable, like traveling to national parks by RV. Others, such as boating, grew out of surges in wealth that the stock market rally provided. As the summer travel season heats up, Americans are making new choices in where they go, when they go, how they get there and who joins them.

\"The world is never going back to the way it was,\" said Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky on an earnings call in May. \"And that means that travel is never going back to the way it was either.\"

One major trend is travelers have become more flexible about when and where they go, especially as remote work allows people to blur when they are on and off the clock. Airbnb stock rose May 24, when the company updated booking features, including an option to search for listings without fixed dates or locations.

And consumers aren't the only ones changing their habits. While tourism-dependent destinations suffered last year, the less-packed streets also showed locals the benefits of quieter communities.

Residents and local officials in normally packed hot spots like Italy and Hawaii are considering limiting the number of tourists. Such a seismic change could make visiting these places prohibitively expensive for many people. If the mix of travelers tilts more heavily toward the wealthy, travel stocks will nudge further toward luxury.

Leisure, Travel Industry Stocks

Shares across the sector have rebounded from last year's pandemic lows. The stocks' recent chart action is mixed. But many travel stocks have outperformed the market the past week and could present buying opportunities for investors.

Airline stocks like American Airlines, United Airlines and Delta Air Lines surged earlier this year on the Reddit stock short squeeze. Then they sold off because business and overseas travel remained weak. Since then, they've consolidated and are approaching buy points.

Cruise stocks like Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Line are showing similar patterns.

Meanwhile, shares of boat makers MarineMax and Brunswick as well as RV makers Winnebago and Thor Industries need to regroup after some failed breakouts. They are no longer in buy zones but could form new bases if earnings and sales growth remain strong.

Hotel leader Marriott has been less volatile and is forming a base, though earnings and sales have yet to fully recover.

Airbnb stock has had a more difficult year. It surged after going public in December but began to slump in March as competition from Expedia rival Vrbo rental service reduced the availability of hosts. A mixed Q1 earnings report and the end of a post-IPO lockup period also weighed on Airbnb stock, which popped up 6% Thursday on higher volume but remained 35% off its 2021 high.

When Luxury Means More Privacy

Luxury travel, once the purview of only the ultrarich, may have won over those who might have had the means but not the need to travel lavishly. As travelers sought to avoid crowds during the pandemic, those with the means turned to options like private jets.

Arnie Weissman, editor-in-chief of Travel Weekly, says the pandemic opened luxury travel to a wider customer base. \"Some people developed a taste for it, and it's likely to continue.\"

Kim-Marie Evans, who writes the blog \"Luxury Travel Moms\" and plans travel for high-net-worth clients, told IBD she booked a trip for a family to Anguilla.

They stayed in a four-bedroom villa at the Four Seasons. And rather than flying commercially, they used a private jet service.

Private jet bookings are at or near their pre-pandemic highs, according to Elite Traveler, citing industry tracker FlightAware's data.

In May, private jet company Wheels Up said membership jumped 58% in Q1 to nearly 10,000. And VistaJet, another leading private jet company, said membership climbed 29% from a year ago.

Private jet leasing company NetJets, which is owned by Berkshire Hathaway, says its flight volume dropped to as low as 10% of 2019 numbers at the start of the pandemic.

Now the company, which also offers fractional ownership of its jets, says it's operating at 85% of its 2019 volume. NetJets said in a statement that commercial airlines have reduced their schedules. Consumers also are prioritizing their health and safety, choosing the seclusion of a private jet over a packed jetliner.

Vacation Shift Favors These Travel Stocks

Hotel chains implemented stringent Covid-19 protocols to convince visitors their properties were clean and safe. The reforms, if finalized, would affect the largest companies in the world with profit margins of at least 10%.Looking ahead, the G-7 hopes to achieve a wider agreement on the new tax proposals next month at a gathering of the expanded G-20 finance ministers.Asked whetherAmazonandFacebookwould be among the companies targeted by the proposal, U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said she believes they would \"qualify by almost any definition.\"Here's how America's tech giants reacted to the news:AmazonAmazon said the agreement \"marks a welcome step forward\" in efforts to \"bring stability to the international tax system.\"\"We hope to see discussions continue to advance with the broader G20 and Inclusive Framework alliance,\" an Amazon spokesperson told CNBC by email.FacebookNick Clegg, Facebook's vice president for global affairs, welcomed the G-7 deal and said the social networking giant \"has long called for reform of the global tax rules.\"The agreement is a \"significant first step towards certainty for businesses and strengthening public confidence in the global tax system,\" Clegg tweeted Saturday.\"We want the international tax reform process to succeed and recognize this could mean Facebook paying more tax, and in different places.\"GoogleA spokesperson forGoogletold Sky Newsthat the company strongly supported the initiative and hoped for a \"balanced and durable\" agreement.Applewasn't immediately available for a comment on the G-7 agreement when contacted by CNBC.The tech tax debateTech giants have long been criticized for paying little in taxes despite their size. Amazon and other companies have been accused of avoiding tax by shifting revenue and profits through tax havens or low-tax countries. The companies insist they’re doing nothing wrong from a legal standpoint, which is why policymakers are calling for reforms.Amazon infamously paid no U.S. federal income tax in 2018, despite booking more than $11 billion in profits. The low tax bill stemmed largely from tax cuts in 2017, carryforward losses from years when the company wasn’t profitable, and tax credits for massive research and development investment and share-based employee compensation. Some countries, such as Britain, France and Italy, have introduced a digital services tax in an effort to rake in more cash from large tech firms. The aim was to implement a solution for the interim while global officials hash out details for international tax rules. But this has led to friction with the United States, which under President Donald Trump’s administration threatened to impose tariffs on French goods over the issue.Meanwhile, some analysts have argued the dealdoesn’t go far enough, while others said there was a long road ahead.George Dibb, head of the Centre for Economic Justice at the London-based Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR), described the deal as a “major step forward,” but said there were still “big questions” surrounding the minimum tax level.“We would like to see something a lot closer to 25%,” he told CNBC Monday.“The Biden administration came into these negotiations with an opening offer of 21% but I think the big fight at the G-7 over Friday and Saturday was over the wording, about whether it would say ’15%′ or ‘at least 15%’ and because we have that wording now of ‘at least 15%’ the door is still open for negotiation,” he told Squawk Box Europe.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":204,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":135028798,"gmtCreate":1622123208614,"gmtModify":1704179884262,"author":{"id":"3582177967058391","authorId":"3582177967058391","name":"Jie111","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3d96b6a1d93c30b6f4c32a5b15b3847d","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3582177967058391","authorIdStr":"3582177967058391"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"??????","listText":"??????","text":"??????","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/135028798","repostId":"1165007357","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1165007357","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1622121426,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1165007357?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-05-27 21:17","market":"us","language":"en","title":"From Bronco EV to profit targets: Ford’s hits and misses during its investor day","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1165007357","media":"cnbc","summary":"Ford Motor’s stock jumped 8.5% Wednesday during CEO Jim Farley’s first investor day as shareholders ","content":"
\n
Ford Motor’s stock jumped 8.5% Wednesday during CEO Jim Farley’s first investor day as shareholders welcomedthe automaker’s new “Ford+” planaimed at increasing profits and aggressively expanding into ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n","source":"cnbc_highlight","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; Specifically, additional details on its future EV lineup, autonomous vehicle business and when the company plans to reinstate its coveted dividend.\nHere’s more on the hits, misses and everything in between that investors should know after Ford’s investor day:\nHit: Profit margin\nThe company said it’s forecasting an 8% adjusted profit margin before interest and taxes in 2023 —earlier thanmany analysts expected.\nFarley’s predecessors, Jim Hackett and Mark Fields, promised the same, but they never delivered.\nHit: Commercial\nFord said it expects to increase revenue from its commercial business to $45 billion by 2025, up from $27 billion in 2019. That includes “hardware and adjacent and new services that’s addressable by Ford.”\nThe automaker will create “Ford Pro,” a new vehicle services and distribution business within the automaker “devoted to commercial and government customers.”\n“Ford is already very strong here, but is now offering a more compelling product via electrification and connectivity that can increase their share in this profitable segment,” Spak said.\nFord plans to exceed Tesla in sales of vehicles capable of significant remote updates by July 2022 andexpand to 33 millionover-the-air-enabled Ford and Lincoln vehicles by 2028.\nSuch a connected fleet could be competitive with its largest American rival,General Motors, which has said it expects more than 7 million of its vehicles globally to be capable of OTA updates by 2023.\nHit: EV batteries\nFord said it is working on an array of new battery technologies and expects the cost of its cells that power EVs to be under $100 per kilowatt hour by mid-decade, followed by $80 per kWh by the end of this decade.\nThat would significantly lower the cost of EVs, which is viewed as a large hurdle for mass adoption. According toCairn Energy Research Advisors, the industry average is about $186 per kWh. Tesla leads at an average of $142 kWh, according to Cairn.\nSo-so: EVs\nSome were hoping Ford would join GM in announcing plans to go all-electric by a specifictimeframe. GM CEO Mary Barra has said the company will produce an all-electric fleet by 2035.\nFord didn’t go that far, but said it expects 40% of its global sales will beEVs by 2030under an increased $30 billion investment in the new technologies from 2016-2025.\nThere also remain questions surrounding its plans to continue producing plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, which Farley himself has called transitional technologies.\nFord said a new EV platform would be the base for EV versions of the Explorer SUV, Lincoln Aviator crossover and future “rugged SUVs.”\nSome expect the latter will be an EV version of itsupcoming Bronco SUV. Ford showed a silhouette resembling the vehicle on its new EV platform, but Hau Thai-Tang, Ford’s chief product platform and operations officer, later said to not “read too much into it.”\nFord also said it now has 70,000 reservations for its electric F-150 Lightning following the pickup’s debut last week. That’s up from 44,500 as of Friday morning, but far below reservations for Tesla’supcoming Cybertruck, according to CEO Elon Musk.\nMiss: AVs\nFord CFO John Lawler reconfirmed the company’s plans to launch a commercial self-driving business by 2022, however there wasn’t much discussion about it other than that.\nLawler and Farley said more details about Ford’s AV business, including Argo AI, which it jointlyowns with Volkswagen AG, would come during a future event.\nMiss: Dividend\nLawler said the company plans to “reinstate the dividend as soon as practical,” but noted the company is focused on improving its business, reinvesting and producing free cash flow at the moment.\nHe declined to give a specific timeline for the dividend to be reinstated. Itwas suspended March 2020to shore up its cash as the coronavirus pandemic caused rolling shutdowns of auto plants globally.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":189,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":186745049,"gmtCreate":1623544688181,"gmtModify":1704205652469,"author":{"id":"3582177967058391","authorId":"3582177967058391","name":"Jie111","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3d96b6a1d93c30b6f4c32a5b15b3847d","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3582177967058391","authorIdStr":"3582177967058391"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like and commeng md","listText":"Like and commeng md","text":"Like and commeng md","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/186745049","repostId":"2142788457","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2142788457","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1623506400,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2142788457?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-12 22:00","market":"us","language":"en","title":"The Summer Movie Season Is Underway: Why That's Good News for AMC Stock","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2142788457","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"AMC is best known for its part in the meme stock-trading frenzy, but its business is slowly recovering.","content":"
AMC Entertainment (NYSE:AMC) stock has experienced some violent price movements in the last several months -- its price recently came close to doubling in a single day. Although nearly all of AMC's theaters have reopened in the U.S, significant capacity restrictions remain.
\n
In roughly two weeks since its release, Walt Disney's Cruella has grossed $86.8 million at the box office worldwide despite being also available on Disney+ (for an additional fee of $29.99 to subscribers). Thus far, the reasonably robust box office total, under restricted seating capacity and a simultaneous release on a streaming service, is good news for AMC.
\n
In contrast, A Quiet Place 2 is opening under a 45-day exclusive theatrical window. Box office totals for the film, released on the same weekend as Cruella, come to $138 million worldwide.
\n
The outperformance of A Quiet Place 2 could be due to the film's exclusive availability at theaters. However, it would be reasonable to expect some folks deciding to watch Cruella on Disney+. Still, getting visitors back inside movie theaters is a win for AMC.
\n
Moreover, F9: The Fast Saga, another part of the successful Fast and Furious film franchise, is set to be released in U.S. theaters on June 25. The theater company said it would use the funds for potential acquisitions, upgrading its theaters and deleveraging its balance sheet.Shares were up 22.6% when the market closed. On Tuesday afternoon, Bloomberg News reported that Mudrick had sold all of its new shares in AMC. The stock fell from its highs of the day following the report.AMC’s business was effectively halted during the pandemic, with movie theaters shut in most of the country for months and major studios delaying releases during the pandemic. However, the stock becamea favorite of traders on Redditand has seen wild swings in recent months. The sharesdoubled last weekon incredibly high volume as the speculative activity by retail traders driven by message board chats ramped back up once again. The company has taken advantage of those price surges by selling additional shares to raise cash. The stock is up more than 1,000% year to date.“Given that AMC is raising hundreds of millions of dollars, this is an extremely positive result for our shareholders,” CEO and President Adam Aron said in a filing. “It was achieved through the issuance of only 8.5 million shares, representing less than 1.7% of our issued share capital and only a small portion of our typical daily trading volume.”The dramatic price swings could also be due to ashort squeezein the stock, which is caused by traders who have bet against the stock buying shares to limit their losses. Roughly 20% of the floated shares of the company are sold short, according to S3 Partners.AMC has around $5 billion in debt and needed to defer $450 million in lease repayments as its revenue largely dried up during the pandemic. Theaters were closed for months to help stop the spread of the virus, and when the company reopened its doors, few consumers felt comfortable attending screenings, and movie studios held back new releases. Now, as vaccination rates rise and the number of coronavirus cases decline, consumer confidence in returning to movie theaters has spiked. Not to mention, studios are finally releasing new content.Over the weekend, John Krasinski’s “A Quiet Place Part II,” the sequel to his 2018 blockbuster, garnered $48.4 million over Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the highest three-day haul of any film release during the pandemic. For the full four-day Memorial Day weekend, the North American box office tallied nearly $100 million in ticket sales.Still, while initial box-office receipts are promising, fundamental elements of the movie theater business have changed in the last year, including theater capacity, shared release dates with streaming services and the number of days that movies play in theaters. The securities filing from AMC, which closed Friday with a $11.8 billion market cap, also has a risk warning for investors: “Our market capitalization, as implied by various trading prices, currently reflects valuations that diverge significantly from those seen prior to recent volatility and that are significantly higher than our market capitalization immediately prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, and to the extent these valuations reflect trading dynamics unrelated to our financial performance or prospects, purchasers of our Class A common stock could incur substantial losses if there are declines in market prices driven by a return to earlier valuations.”","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":67,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":137287360,"gmtCreate":1622350987250,"gmtModify":1704183361874,"author":{"id":"3582177967058391","authorId":"3582177967058391","name":"Jie111","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3d96b6a1d93c30b6f4c32a5b15b3847d","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3582177967058391","authorIdStr":"3582177967058391"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$KEPPEL DC REIT(AJBU.SI)$Potential to go ","listText":"$KEPPEL DC REIT(AJBU.SI)$Potential to go ","text":"$KEPPEL DC REIT(AJBU.SI)$Potential to go","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8d8c194b120f4795316b8623ce90d2f2","width":"1080","height":"1920"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/137287360","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":309,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":159884253,"gmtCreate":1624955949372,"gmtModify":1703848774280,"author":{"id":"3582177967058391","authorId":"3582177967058391","name":"Jie111","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3d96b6a1d93c30b6f4c32a5b15b3847d","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3582177967058391","authorIdStr":"3582177967058391"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like and comment ","listText":"Like and comment ","text":"Like and comment","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/159884253","repostId":"1122223844","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":243,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":124008399,"gmtCreate":1624702137211,"gmtModify":1703843887845,"author":{"id":"3582177967058391","authorId":"3582177967058391","name":"Jie111","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3d96b6a1d93c30b6f4c32a5b15b3847d","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3582177967058391","authorIdStr":"3582177967058391"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Up tumbs up","listText":"Up tumbs up","text":"Up tumbs up","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/124008399","repostId":"1152075524","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1152075524","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1624666599,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1152075524?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-26 08:16","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Don't Miss What 3 Nasdaq Stocks Do Next Week","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1152075524","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"The stock market has done well recently, and the favorable sentiment has sent the Nasdaq Composite(N","content":"
The stock market has done well recently, and the favorable sentiment has sent the Nasdaq Composite(NASDAQINDEX:^IXIC) to record levels. Most of those following the stock expect earnings to double year over year, with revenue climbing at a faster than 35% pace. Many see that growth continuing well into next year. The consensus forecast for fiscal 2022 earnings puts a forward multiple of just 8 on Micron's share price.
\n
The key question is how quickly Micron and its competitors will ramp up production capacity in order to meet higher demand. In the past, upward cycles in the chip market ended because companies like Micron boost production too far, creating gluts of chips and sending prices plunging. That in turn crushes profits, making low price-to-earnings ratios into value traps for the unwary. All eyes will be on Micron's report to see not only how things have gone, but also what the future holds for it and its rivals.
\n
Walgreens Boots Alliance
\n
Lastly,Walgreen Boots Alliance(NASDAQ:WBA) will offer its latest look at earnings on Thursday, July 1. Investors are expecting a mixed picture from the giant drugstore chain, with revenue likely slipping a bit from year-ago levels but profits jumping by nearly 65%.
\n
Investors will watch how Walgreens has done in administering COVID-19 vaccines, which has been a one-time boon for the industry generally. However, of greater long-term concern will be any comments on whether the possibility of e-commerce giant Amazon(NASDAQ:AMZN) challenging Walgreens' business more directly could cause problems.
\n
Walgreens will have to have a strategy for how to build on momentum from COVID-related impacts. If the drugstore chain can't deliver, then the relatively stagnant performance of its stock could continue further into 2021 and potentially beyond.
\n
Watch out for surprises
\n
News that's close to what investors expect likely won't make a big difference for any of these three stocks or the stock market more broadly. On Friday, the Nasdaq closed a strong week on a quiet note.\nWe're almost halfway through 2021, and investors are trying to get a read on how the second half of the year will go. Despite the current lull in corporate earnings releases, market participants will get three key readings from major companies next week.Nasdaqinvestors should treat these reports as must-read news that could move markets as we pass the six-month mark in the current year.\nBed Bath & Beyond\nBed Bath & Beyond (NASDAQ:BBBY) will report its fiscal first-quarter results on Wednesday morning, June 30. Here's why it's a great investment today.
\n
1. SoFi's business-to-consumer offering
\n
SoFi (short for Social Finance) is attempting to be the first complete one-stop shop for all things digital banking through its app. On the SoFi platform, consumers can \"borrow, save, spend, invest, and protect\" all in one place. With half of consumers using more than one bank and 80% of those consumers doing so because of inadequate service, it's clear to see how this could be a lucrative endeavor if done correctly.
\n
This convenience can be valuable: Cross-selling greatly enhances unit economics for SoFi. For example, SoFi's money product yields a 34% profit margin, which skyrockets to 80% when combined with a personal loan product. The company spends zero incremental dollars on selling a second or third product to a user, yet enjoys an enhanced consumer lifetime value (LTV).
\n
Thanks partially to the pandemic, demand for these services is quickly on the rise -- digital banking penetration rose from 54% to 62%, with the vast majority of those consumers unwilling to go back. There is clearly a long pathway of growth for this company to pursue, and so far, it's delivering. In the company's first public quarterly report, it posted 110% membership growth to reach 2.28 million. What's even more encouraging about this is that the rate of growth has actually accelerated for seven consecutive quarters. This points to real durability to expansion.
\n
SoFi's financial products specifically saw product growth soar by 273% year over year to eclipse the company's more mature lending segment in size. Total consumer-facing product sales more than doubled as well.
\n
To deepen the appeal, SoFi recently debuted social investing products as well as a service allowing retail investors to access companies pre-IPO. There are undoubtedly more product innovations in the works for SoFi's consumers.
\n
2. Galileo, SoFi's business-to-business offering
\n
SoFi is not just finding business-to-consumer success, but business-to-business as well. SoFi's Galileo offers fintech companies application programming interfaces (APIs) for core digital banking functionality. Galileo was originally just a partner for SoFi's consumer-facing products, but the technology was so effective that SoFi decided to buy it outright. That says a lot. Galileo enables companies to build out payment, card, and digital banking products, and this segment is also finding meaningful success.
\n
Last quarter, total Galileo members skyrocketed 130% year over year to reach 70 million. This growth rate compares to 75% in the year-ago period, showing there is real, positive momentum here as well.
\n
Impressively, Galileo serves fintech titans such as Chime and Robinhood. While it's nice to see fabulous consumer-based success, this business-facing segment ensures SoFi succeeds when fintech as a whole succeeds, not just when its own app does. With fintech somewhat crowded but also poised for continued growth, that's a strong position to be in.
\n
Importantly, management plans to operate Galileo entirely independently from SoFi, to ensure Galileo can be seen as a pure partner to these companies rather than a partial adversary. Recently, SoFi hired Derek White -- a former Google cloud executive -- to run Galileo with this in mind.
\n
To get an idea of the appetite for Galileo's services, in a recent interview SoFi CEO Anthony Noto gave Piper Sandler, he said Galileo's biggest challenge was saying no to opportunity. Clearly, there is a lot of demand here for the combined entity to enjoy.
\n
3. SoFi is thriving
\n
When combining SoFi's two primary business segments, revenue and profitability continue to be remarkable. Last quarter, sales rose 151% year over year to $216 million and beat the guidance SoFi offered in its investor presentation by a hefty 12.2%. The organization reiterated its 2021 guidance despite not having $12 million in previously anticipated revenues to recognize from its purchase of Apex clearing.
\n
Impressively, itsEBITDAmargin turned positive, improving from -48% to 2% year over year.
