Here are three first-rate dividend ETFs to check out.

1. Vanguard High Dividend Yield ETF

The Vanguard High Dividend Yield ETF is a popular option with a fairly broad approach to which stocks it holds. Excluding REITs, the fund consists of 443 public U.S. companies that have paid out above-average dividends in the previous 12 months. With the Vanguard High Dividend Yield ETF, investors will get exposure to large-cap companies spanning all 11 sectors. And since it's market-cap weighted, larger companies make up the bulk of the fund.

A great thing about this ETF is its low cost with an expense ratio of just 0.06%. A small difference in percentages may not seem like much on paper, but higher expense ratios can eat away at your returns over time. With trailing-12-month payouts of $3.20 per share (or a 3.0% yield as of this writing), it's also in line with some top-paying dividend ETFs.

2. SPDR S&P Dividend ETF

The SPDR S&P Dividend ETF is a bit more selective in the stocks it includes, only screening for companies that have consistently increased their dividends at least 20 consecutive years. Although that's five years less than what it takes to attain the Dividend Aristocrat title, this ETF still consists of many of them, providing a bit more sense of reliability.

The index is weighted by dividend yield, so the higher a company's yield, the greater its representation in the fund. There are only 119 companies total, but the largest holding, Franklin Resources, only makes up 1.85% of it. The companies within the fund are chosen each January and reweighted every quarter.

The fund paid out $3.35 over the past year (around a 2.7% yield). However, one downside to the SPDR S&P Dividend ETF is its expense ratio, which comes in a bit pricier than other options at 0.35%.

3. iShares Core High Dividend ETF

The iShares Core High Dividend ETF is the most selective of the three listed here, holding only 75 U.S. stocks that the fund has screened for financial health. This ETF consists mostly of large-cap stocks, and it's a bit more top-heavy than the other ETFs with the top three holdings -- ExxonMobil, Johnson & Johnson, and Chevron -- making up over 19% of the fund. The top three sectors -- healthcare, energy, and consumer staples -- make up about 58% of the fund as well.

With a $3.16 trailing-12-month payout (or a 3.1% yield), it can be a lucrative choice for investors looking to kill two birds with one stone with dividends and large-cap investing. It's also low cost with a 0.08% expense ratio.

","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
3 First-Rate ETFs for Stock Dividends
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n3 First-Rate ETFs for Stock Dividends\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-08-06 11:50 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
It can't be overstated just how pivotal dividends can be to an investors' total returns -- especially when reinvested. All this creates a risk that as things get back to normal, the market overall could be due for a correction. Some of the money that has been flowing into it could be cashed out and put back into bonds as interest rates rise, or used for other purposes as spending resumes and people choose to hold less in stocks.
\n
If I owned Moderna, Inc. , fuboTV Inc., or Pinterest, Inc., I'd be considering selling them right now. Each company's share prices has more than doubled in the past year, blowing past the S&P 500 and its 35% gains during that time. But with inflated valuations and the possibility of a crash looming, they become riskier as each day passes by.
\n

\n
\n
1. Moderna
\n
Moderna has soared by 250% in 12 months, and for good reason -- its COVID-19 vaccine obtained emergency use authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) last year. The company expects to generate more than $18 billion in revenue from the vaccine in 2021, and its bottom line will finally be in the black -- in 2020 its losses totaled $747 million, triple what it lost in 2017.
\n
Things are certainly looking up for Moderna, especially with rival Pfizer looking to get the OK from the FDA for a third dose of its vaccine to help fight the delta variant. If Pfizer is successful, it's likely Moderna would follow suit, which could bring in even more revenue for the company. But there's no certainty that will happen. And more vaccines could be coming to market soon, including one from Novavax, which plans to apply for authorization from the FDA during the third quarter.
\n
As countries have more options for vaccines, that will inevitably bring down the revenue and potential market share for Moderna. And beyond that, there are questions about what the future holds for Moderna after COVID-19. While its mRNA technology has proven to be effective, that doesn't guarantee that other vaccines in its pipeline will succeed. Its vaccine for cytomegalovirus, currently the furthest along, is entering phase 3 trials. With a peak annual revenue potential of between $2 billion and $5 billion, however, the company won't be able to solely rely on it in replacing COVID-19-related revenue.
\n
Moderna's future is a question mark for me, and while its forward price-to-earnings ratio of 11 looks cheap, that could change drastically post-COVID. Even on a forward basis, the stock is trading at more than 6 times revenue -- Pfizer is at just 3. Although Moderna is doing well right now, its stock is expensive and could be due for a correction soon.
\n
2. fuboTV
\n
Streaming and entertainment company fuboTV isn't profitable, nor does profitability look to be in its sights. But that hasn't stopped investors from jumping on its bandwagon, driving shares up by more than 160% in 12 months. Its subscriber base as of March 31 topped 590,000 people -- a year-over-year increase of 105%. And the company may continue attracting more subscribers thanks to plans to launch a sportsbook before the end of the year.
\n
However, while the company is growing fast, my concern is that its approach may be too aggressive in pursuing revenue. In its most recent quarterly results, for the period ending March 31, revenue of $120 million was nowhere near enough to cover its $185 million in operating expenses. Of particular concern is that fuboTV has incurred subscriber-related expenses of $113 million -- more than the $107 million it brought in from subscription-related revenue.
\n
Without good margins to support the company's growth, the problem for investors is that fuboTV's financials may not get stronger as it expands, which could lead to an inevitable need to raise cash -- diluting existing shareholders. fuboTV currently trades at a multiple of 6 times its revenue, and although that's cheaper than Netflix's multiple of more than 9, the streaming giant is at least profitable. In a crash, investors look for safety, and without a strong bottom line, fuboTV's stock could fall quickly.
\n
3. Pinterest
\n
Pinterest's stock has benefited from people staying at home during the pandemic and using its discovery engine to explore hobbies and interests. As of the end of March, the company had 478 million monthly active users (MAUs), an increase of 30% year over year. That tops last year's results, in which MAUs of 367 million grew by 26%. All this creates a risk that as things get back to normal, the market overall could be due for a correction. Some of the money that has been flowing into it could be cashed out and put back into bonds as interest rates rise, or used for other purposes as spending resumes and people choose to hold less in stocks.\nIf I owned Moderna, Inc. , fuboTV Inc., or Pinterest, Inc., I'd be considering selling them right now. Each company's share prices has more than doubled in the past year, blowing past the S&P 500 and its 35% gains during that time. But with inflated valuations and the possibility of a crash looming, they become riskier as each day passes by.\n\nImage source: Getty Images.\n1. Moderna\nModerna has soared by 250% in 12 months, and for good reason -- its COVID-19 vaccine obtained emergency use authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) last year. The company expects to generate more than $18 billion in revenue from the vaccine in 2021, and its bottom line will finally be in the black -- in 2020 its losses totaled $747 million, triple what it lost in 2017.\nThings are certainly looking up for Moderna, especially with rival Pfizer looking to get the OK from the FDA for a third dose of its vaccine to help fight the delta variant. If Pfizer is successful, it's likely Moderna would follow suit, which could bring in even more revenue for the company. But there's no certainty that will happen. And more vaccines could be coming to market soon, including one from Novavax, which plans to apply for authorization from the FDA during the third quarter.\nAs countries have more options for vaccines, that will inevitably bring down the revenue and potential market share for Moderna. With a peak annual revenue potential of between $2 billion and $5 billion, however, the company won't be able to solely rely on it in replacing COVID-19-related revenue.\nModerna's future is a question mark for me, and while its forward price-to-earnings ratio of 11 looks cheap, that could change drastically post-COVID. Even on a forward basis, the stock is trading at more than 6 times revenue -- Pfizer is at just 3. Although Moderna is doing well right now, its stock is expensive and could be due for a correction soon.\n2. fuboTV\nStreaming and entertainment company fuboTV isn't profitable, nor does profitability look to be in its sights. But that hasn't stopped investors from jumping on its bandwagon, driving shares up by more than 160% in 12 months. Its subscriber base as of March 31 topped 590,000 people -- a year-over-year increase of 105%. And the company may continue attracting more subscribers thanks to plans to launch a sportsbook before the end of the year.\nHowever, while the company is growing fast, my concern is that its approach may be too aggressive in pursuing revenue. In its most recent quarterly results, for the period ending March 31, revenue of $120 million was nowhere near enough to cover its $185 million in operating expenses. Of particular concern is that fuboTV has incurred subscriber-related expenses of $113 million -- more than the $107 million it brought in from subscription-related revenue.\nWithout good margins to support the company's growth, the problem for investors is that fuboTV's financials may not get stronger as it expands, which could lead to an inevitable need to raise cash -- diluting existing shareholders. fuboTV currently trades at a multiple of 6 times its revenue, and although that's cheaper than Netflix's multiple of more than 9, the streaming giant is at least profitable. In a crash, investors look for safety, and without a strong bottom line, fuboTV's stock could fall quickly.\n3. Pinterest\nPinterest's stock has benefited from people staying at home during the pandemic and using its discovery engine to explore hobbies and interests. As of the end of March, the company had 478 million monthly active users (MAUs), an increase of 30% year over year. That tops last year's results, in which MAUs of 367 million grew by 26%. The company does expect to see a slowdown next quarter, however, with its MAU growth rate likely to be in the \"mid-teens.\"\nEven with the rising user base and a 78% year-over-year increase in sales this past quarter to $485 million, the company still posted a net loss of $22 million. Although that was a fraction of the $141 million loss it incurred a year earlier, with the economy opening back up and people going back to their regular habits, there may be less time to spend on Pinterest -- and a decline in MAUs. If that happens, the progress the company has been making on its bottom line could be stalled.\nPinterest has been a hot stay-at-home stock, but now could become a risky buy given its hefty valuation; The drug, which is marketed under the name Aduhelm, is also expected to generate billions of dollars in revenue for the company.\"We are well-aware of the attention surrounding this approval,\" Dr. Patrizia Cavazzoni, director of the FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, said in a press release. \"We understand that Aduhelm has garnered the attention of the press, the Alzheimer's patient community, our elected officials, and other interested stakeholders.\"\"With a treatment for a serious, life-threatening disease in the balance, it makes sense that so many people were following the outcome of this review,\" Cavazzoni added.Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder that slowly destroys memory and thinking skills. More than 6 million Americans are living with the disease, according toestimates by the Alzheimer’s Association.By 2050, that number is projected to rise to nearly 13 million, according to the group. There were previously no drugs cleared by the FDA that can slow the mental decline from Alzheimer’s, which is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States. The U.S. agency has approved Alzheimer’s drugs aimed at helping symptoms, not actually slowing the disease itself.Federal regulators have faced intense pressure from friends and family members of Alzheimer’s patients asking to fast-track aducanumab, but the road to regulatory approval has been a controversial one since it showed promise in 2016.In March of 2019, Biogen pulled work on the drug after an analysis from an independent group revealed it was unlikely to work. The company then shocked investors several months later by announcing it would seek regulatory approval for the drug after all.Shares of Biogen soared in Novemberafter it won backing from FDA staff, who said the company showed highly “persuasive” evidence aducanumab was effective and that it had “an acceptable safety profile that would support use in individuals with Alzheimer’s disease.”But two days later, a panel of outside experts that advises theU.S. agency unexpectedly declined to endorsethe experimental drug, citing unconvincing data. It also criticized agency staff for what it called an overly positive review. When Biogen sought approval for the drug in late 2019, its scientists said a new analysis of a larger data set showed that aducanumab “reduced clinical decline in patients with early Alzheimer’s disease.”Alzheimer’s experts and Wall Street analysts were immediately skeptical, with some wondering whether the clinical trial data was enough to prove that the drug works and whether approval could make it harder for other companies to enroll patients in their own drug trials. Some doctorshave said they won’t prescribethe drug if it does reach the market, because of the mixed data package supporting the company’s application.Supporters, including advocacy groups and family members of those living with the disease desperate for a new treatment, have acknowledged that the data isn’t perfect. However, they argue that it could help some patients with Alzheimer’s, a progressive and debilitating disease.Biogen’s drug targets a “sticky” compound in the brain known as beta-amyloid, which scientists expect plays a role in the devastating disease. The company has previously estimated about 1.5 million people with early Alzheimer’s in the U.S. could be candidates for the drug, according to Reuters. The FDA decision is expected to reverberate throughout the biopharma sector, RBC Capital Markets analyst Brian Abrahams said in a note to clients on June 1.The U.S. agency said Monday it determined there was “substantial evidence” the drug helps patients.“As a result of FDA’s approval of Aduhelm, patients with Alzheimer’s disease have an important and critical new treatment to help combat this disease,” it said.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":464,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":130444415,"gmtCreate":1621563106537,"gmtModify":1704359709662,"author":{"id":"3582687446563846","authorId":"3582687446563846","name":"Grapper","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/a7a77e6b26455976e2e565c0d600ddf5","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3582687446563846","authorIdStr":"3582687446563846"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Gogogo","listText":"Gogogo","text":"Gogogo","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/130444415","repostId":"1174238488","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1174238488","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1621562781,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1174238488?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-05-21 10:06","market":"hk","language":"en","title":"JD Logistics Poised to Raise $3.2 Billion in Hong Kong IPO","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1174238488","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"JD Logistics Inc., the delivery arm of e-commerce giant JD.com Inc., is set to raise about HK$24.6 b","content":"
JD Logistics Inc., the delivery arm of e-commerce giant JD.com Inc., is set to raise about HK$24.6 billion ($3.2 billion) after planning to price its Hong Kong initial public offering near the bottom of a marketed range, according to people with knowledge of the matter.

The warehousing and shipping company is telling prospective investors that it plans to price 609.2 million shares at HK$40.36 each, the people said, asking not to be identified as the information is private. Our listed investment portfolio experienced meaningful value appreciation, while contributing mixed results to our associate income, with certain investees delivering wider associate losses due to their investments in new initiatives such as community group buying activities. Overall, we believe we sustained healthy operational and financial results during a period when the China Internet industry as a whole is undergoing a heavy investment phase. Here are some highlights of our key products and business lines for the quarter:

Weixin

Weixin Video Accounts continued to gain user and content creator traction as we build the content ecosystem. We have increased our efforts in attracting and incubating content creators by providing customised onboarding services and ongoing operational support. Mini Programs’ ecosystem is thriving with deeper penetration among small and medium-sized businesses. Our low-code development platform enables smaller businesses to develop Mini Programs more cost-effectively. We provided more tools to assist system integrators and the number of active Mini Programs they served more than tripled year-on-year.

QQ and Digital Content

We are leveraging technology to better integrate social and content consumption experiences at QQ, such as seamless experiences between instant messaging and games. Users can team up with QQ friends to start a multi-player game battle with one click. For in-game friends who are not on QQ, users can communicate with them synchronously via Game Center. They can also stay up-to-date with game events via QQ Mini Programs. Looking forward, QQ’s new leadership team will seek to upgrade the service’s technology, operations and content, and better serve the social and entertainment needs of young users.

Our fee-based VAS subscriptions grew 14% year-on-year to 226 million. Video subscriptions increased 12% year-on-year to 125 million, benefitting from adaptation of certain IPs, such as The Land of Warriors, into animated and live action drama series. Our self-commissioned variety shows such as Chuang 2021 and Roast Season 5 attained popularity. Music subscriptions increased 43% year-on-year to 61 million, primarily driven by better content, effective marketing campaigns and an improved retention rate.

We are merging the Tencent Video and WeiShi teams to upgrade their algorithmic recommendations, bring integrated viewing experiences to users, and enrich short video clips adapted from our long form video library. We have announced leadership changes in TME, aiming to enhance the co-operation and synergies between our digital content services, as well as with our social communities.

Games

Our aggregate user engagement and user spending increased year-on-year despite the high base due to stay-at-home impact in the first quarter of 2020. We released Honour of Kings’ biggest-ever update in January to improve its graphics and game experiences, and then launched appealing marketing campaigns with top-tier skins during the Chinese New Year, which drove the game’s DAU and paying users to record highs in February. We reduced the application file size of PUBG Mobile and enhanced our local market operational capabilities, boosting PUBG Mobile’s DAU in EMEA countries. League of Legends benefitted significantly from the release of bigger and better Lunar Revel content across PC and mobile devices, as well as across its core game mode and Teamfight Tactics.

We are also cultivating emerging genres beyond these large audience games. For example, our new titles Komori Life and The Walnut Diary ranked among China’s top ten life simulation mobile games by DAU in April 2021. Our games pipeline covers a wide spectrum of genres, including Action, MOBA and Survival. For China, many of the new games are adapted from popular existing game and literature IPs. Internationally, we expect our substantial prior investments in best-in-class PC, console and mobile studios to begin contributing a range of genre-innovating games in the quarters to come.

Online Advertising

We enhanced the transaction capabilities of our advertising properties via linkage with Weixin Mini Programs and upgraded marketing solutions for key industries including games, retail and automobile-related verticals, delivering higher sales conversion and ROIs for advertisers. Advertisers’ adoption of Mini Programs as landing pages increased substantially, demonstrating growing recognition of Weixin as a transaction-generating environment. Our mobile advertising network continued to benefit from increased video advertising inventories primarily within games, online reading and tool apps. For the rest of 2021, industry uncertainties include potential regulatory headwinds for K-12 education and potential delays to the release schedule of our video content.

FinTech

Our commercial payments volume benefitted from rising adoption of mobile payment in China due to consumption growth and an expanding digital economy. As people travelled less and consumed more during the Chinese New Year holiday, offline payment transactions increased sequentially, particularly in retail and dining services.

Weixin Pay has been assisting small and medium-sized merchants in China to grow and digitalise their businesses. We are committing significant subsidies, resources and services to small and medium-sized merchants, to further reduce their operating costs and enhance their operational efficiency.

Cloud and Other Business Services

Leveraging our strengths in security, communication and CRM solutions, we expanded our PaaS and SaaS businesses during the quarter. To better position ourselves for the opportunities in China’s nascent SaaS market, we have established our SaaS ecosystem program to nurture the growth of SaaS providers and facilitate digitalisation of enterprise clients. We launched our Enterprise App Connector with unified login accounts and data flow across different SaaS products, allowing SaaS providers to develop and deliver their products more efficiently, while facilitating better coordination of multiple SaaS solutions by enterprise clients

Investments for the Future

We believe that we are still in the early stage of the global digital transformation. The advance of technology will present ample opportunities for our Consumer Internet and Industrial Internet activities. Consequently, we are proactively increasing our rate of investment in new opportunities by investing a portion of our incremental profits for 2021, which we believe will deliver high returns in the long run. Incremental investments will include the following areas – business services, games and short-form video content.

Business Services: We will make further investments in areas such as headcount and infrastructure to support the rapid growth of our business. We will strengthen our productivity SaaS products and security software as well as partnerships with and investments in SaaS providers and Independent Software Vendors, supporting our clients’ digital needs. Through enhancing our upsell and cross-sell capabilities in key verticals such as healthcare, retail, education and transportation, we will provide smart solutions for enterprises and consumer-facing products for users.

Games: We are stepping up our investments in game development, and in particular focusing on large-scale and high-production-value games that can appeal to users globally. We are also investing further in new types of games serving more targeted audiences, building up IP franchises and developing them across media, and investing in advanced technologies for next generation game experiences such as cloud games.

Short-Form Video Content: We are now incubating the content ecosystem for Video Accounts which connect users with real-life content and bridge high-quality content creators with their customers. We will provide production and monetisation tools to content creators, optimise social-driven recommendation, enrich knowledge-based content as well as add servers and bandwidth to support Video Accounts’ solid growth. We are strengthening the synergies between our long-form and short-form video services. Through the merger of Tencent Video and WeiShi, we will empower long-form video leveraging our short-form capabilities. We will escalate self-commissioned production to further expand our IP content library, and provide video clips that can be adapted by our creator network.

As a technology company serving a broad base of users and enterprises, we recognise our social responsibility and the opportunities for us to create significant social value through innovations. Consequently, we integrated our Corporate Social Responsibility and charitable activities into a new Sustainable Social Value Organisation. We will invest an initial capital of RMB50 billion, to be funded by our investment gains, in areas including basic science, education innovation, rural revitalisation, carbon neutrality, food/energy/water provision, assisting with public emergencies, technology for senior citizens and public welfare. This upgrade aims to implement our mission of “Tech for Good” and marks a new phase of development for the Company.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Tencent's revenue in Q1 was RMB 135.303 billion, up 25% YOY
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nTencent's revenue in Q1 was RMB 135.303 billion, up 25% YOY\n
\n\n
\n\n\n\n\n\n

\n\n
\n
Tiger Newspress
\n
2021-05-20 16:38
\n
\n\n\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
Tencent Holdings Ltd announce the unaudited consolidated results of the Group for the three months ended 31 March 2021.Qtrly revenues rmb135,303 million versus rmb108,065 million;Qtrly profit attributable rmb47,767 million versus rmb28,896 million;Qtrly revenues from online advertising increased by 23% to rmb21.8 billion; At march 31, combined mau of Weixin and Wechat 1,241.6 mln vs 1,202.5 mln

BUSINESS REVIEW AND OUTLOOK

During the quarter, we achieved notable growth for our business services as well as online advertising revenue streams, while stepping up our investment in areas including business services and enterprise software, high-production-value games, and short-form video. Our listed investment portfolio experienced meaningful value appreciation, while contributing mixed results to our associate income, with certain investees delivering wider associate losses due to their investments in new initiatives such as community group buying activities. Overall, we believe we sustained healthy operational and financial results during a period when the China Internet industry as a whole is undergoing a heavy investment phase. Here are some highlights of our key products and business lines for the quarter:Weixin Weixin Video Accounts continued to gain user and content creator traction as we build the content ecosystem. We have increased our efforts in attracting and incubating content creators by providing customised onboarding services and ongoing operational support. Mini Programs’ ecosystem is thriving with deeper penetration among small and medium-sized businesses. Our low-code development platform enables smaller businesses to develop Mini Programs more cost-effectively. We provided more tools to assist system integrators and the number of active Mini Programs they served more than tripled year-on-year.QQ and Digital Content We are leveraging technology to better integrate social and content consumption experiences at QQ, such as seamless experiences between instant messaging and games. Users can team up with QQ friends to start a multi-player game battle with one click. For in-game friends who are not on QQ, users can communicate with them synchronously via Game Center. They can also stay up-to-date with game events via QQ Mini Programs. Looking forward, QQ’s new leadership team will seek to upgrade the service’s technology, operations and content, and better serve the social and entertainment needs of young users.Our fee-based VAS subscriptions grew 14% year-on-year to 226 million. Video subscriptions increased 12% year-on-year to 125 million, benefitting from adaptation of certain IPs, such as The Land of Warriors, into animated and live action drama series. Our self-commissioned variety shows such as Chuang 2021 and Roast Season 5 attained popularity. Music subscriptions increased 43% year-on-year to 61 million, primarily driven by better content, effective marketing campaigns and an improved retention rate.We are merging the Tencent Video and WeiShi teams to upgrade their algorithmic recommendations, bring integrated viewing experiences to users, and enrich short video clips adapted from our long form video library. We have announced leadership changes in TME, aiming to enhance the co-operation and synergies between our digital content services, as well as with our social communities.Games Our aggregate user engagement and user spending increased year-on-year despite the high base due to stay-at-home impact in the first quarter of 2020. We released Honour of Kings’ biggest-ever update in January to improve its graphics and game experiences, and then launched appealing marketing campaigns with top-tier skins during the Chinese New Year, which drove the game’s DAU and paying users to record highs in February. We reduced the application file size of PUBG Mobile and enhanced our local market operational capabilities, boosting PUBG Mobile’s DAU in EMEA countries. League of Legends benefitted significantly from the release of bigger and better Lunar Revel content across PC and mobile devices, as well as across its core game mode and Teamfight Tactics.We are also cultivating emerging genres beyond these large audience games. For example, our new titles Komori Life and The Walnut Diary ranked among China’s top ten life simulation mobile games by DAU in April 2021. Our games pipeline covers a wide spectrum of genres, including Action, MOBA and Survival. For China, many of the new games are adapted from popular existing game and literature IPs. China’s biggest online commerce company’s revenue to surge more than 70% to $27.7 billion.“Heightened investments in Taobao Deal and Grocery for user acquisition in less-affluent regions in China, should support long-term growth in core e-commerce business. Merchants’ marketing budgets will continue to shift online given rising reliance on e-commerce and better conversion. Alibaba’s ad resources remain under-monetized,” noted Gary Yu, equity analyst at Morgan Stanley.“Digitalization trend in China will also sustain AliCloud’s growth potential. Gradual margin expansion will be a long-term profit driver. We see limited near-term catalysts but F22e P/E valuation remains attractive. We also see further downside support from additional disclosure to separate losses from new investments from profitable core e-commerce businesses.”WALT DISNEY: The world’s leading producers and providers of entertainment and information is expected to report its fiscal second-quarter earnings of $0.27 per share, which represents a year-over-year decline of over 50%. China’s biggest online commerce company’s revenue to surge more than 70% to $27.7 billion.“Heightened investments in Taobao Deal and Grocery for user acquisition in less-affluent regions in China, should support long-term growth in core e-commerce business. Merchants’ marketing budgets will continue to shift online given rising reliance on e-commerce and better conversion. Alibaba’s ad resources remain under-monetized,” noted Gary Yu, equity analyst at Morgan Stanley.“Digitalization trend in China will also sustain AliCloud’s growth potential. Gradual margin expansion will be a long-term profit driver. We see limited near-term catalysts but F22e P/E valuation remains attractive. We also see further downside support from additional disclosure to separate losses from new investments from profitable core e-commerce businesses.”WALT DISNEY: The world’s leading producers and providers of entertainment and information is expected to report its fiscal second-quarter earnings of $0.27 per share, which represents a year-over-year decline of over 50%. The Chicago, Illinois-based family entertainment company’s revenue would slump over 10% to $ 16.1 billion.“Disney is building content assets that enable it to take advantage of the significant direct-to-consumer streaming opportunity ahead. Disney’s underlying IP remains best-in-class, supporting long-term content monetization opportunities,” noted Benjamin Swinburne, equity analyst at Morgan Stanley.“During this period of FCF pressure from Parks closures, ESPN’s FCF generation is key to driving down leverage. With the stock trading near its historical average multiple, we see too wide a risk-reward to justify recommending, with upside/downside driven by how severe and quick business trends return to normal post-COVID-19,” noted Thomas Allen, equity analyst at Morgan Stanley.Tuesday (May 11)IN THE SPOTLIGHT: ELECTRONIC ARTSElectronic Arts, one of the world’s largest video game publishers, is expected to report its fiscal fourth-quarter earnings of $1.04 per share, which represents a year-over-year decline of over 3% from $1.08 per share seen in the same quarter a year ago.The world’s largest video game publishers would post revenue growth of about 15% to around $1.39 billion. However, in the last four quarters, the company has delivered an earnings surprise of over 500%.“For the fourth quarter of fiscal 2021, EA expects GAAP revenues of $1.317 billion, cost of revenues to be $302 million, and operating expenses of $837 million. EA anticipates a loss per share of 7 cents for the fourth quarter. Net bookings are expected to be $1.375 billion, which indicates an increase of $75 million over the prior guidance. For fiscal 2021, EA expects revenues of $5.6 billion, cost of revenues to be $1.477 billion, and earnings per share of $2.54,” noted analysts at ZACKS Research.Wednesday (May 12)TickerCompanyEPS ForecastWENWendy’s$0.15WIXWIX-$0.68DTDynatrace Holdings$0.14WWWWolverine World Wide$0.40LITELumentum Holdings Inc$1.42DOXAmdocs$1.13JACKJack In The Box$1.29GOCOGocompare.Com$0.00SONOSonos Inc-$0.22PAASPan American Silver USA$0.30MAURYMarui ADR$0.15TMToyota Motor$3.67AEGAegon$0.17BRFSBRF$0.02EBRCentrais Eletricas Brasileiras$0.27BAYRYBayer AG PK$0.73TCEHYTencent$0.53DMDominion Midstream Partners-$0.13FLOFlowers Foods$0.37Thursday (May 13)IN THE SPOTLIGHT: ALIBABA, WALT DISNEYALIBABA: China’s Alibaba Group Holding, the largest online and mobile e-commerce company in the world, is expected to report its fiscal fourth-quarter earnings of $1.82 per share, up over 40% from the same quarter a year ago. China’s biggest online commerce company’s revenue to surge more than 70% to $27.7 billion.“Heightened investments in Taobao Deal and Grocery for user acquisition in less-affluent regions in China, should support long-term growth in core e-commerce business. Merchants’ marketing budgets will continue to shift online given rising reliance on e-commerce and better conversion. Alibaba’s ad resources remain under-monetized,” noted Gary Yu, equity analyst at Morgan Stanley.“Digitalization trend in China will also sustain AliCloud’s growth potential. Gradual margin expansion will be a long-term profit driver. We see limited near-term catalysts but F22e P/E valuation remains attractive. We also see further downside support from additional disclosure to separate losses from new investments from profitable core e-commerce businesses.”WALT DISNEY: The world’s leading producers and providers of entertainment and information is expected to report its fiscal second-quarter earnings of $0.27 per share, which represents a year-over-year decline of over 50%. The Chicago, Illinois-based family entertainment company’s revenue would slump over 10% to $ 16.1 billion.“Disney is building content assets that enable it to take advantage of the significant direct-to-consumer streaming opportunity ahead. Disney’s underlying IP remains best-in-class, supporting long-term content monetization opportunities,” noted Benjamin Swinburne, equity analyst at Morgan Stanley.“During this period of FCF pressure from Parks closures, ESPN’s FCF generation is key to driving down leverage. Historical cycles suggest a potential return to above prior peak US Parks revenues in FY23.”TAKE A LOOK AT OUR EARNINGS CALENDAR FOR THE FULL RELEASES FOR THE MAY 13TickerCompanyEPS ForecastCELHCelsius$0.00HAEHaemonetics$0.69BABAAlibaba$11.80BAMBrookfield Asset Management USA$0.87TACTransAlta USA$0.06UTZUtz Brands$0.15VERXVertex Inc. The drug, which is marketed under the name Aduhelm, is also expected to generate billions of dollars in revenue for the company.\"We are well-aware of the attention surrounding this approval,\" Dr. Patrizia Cavazzoni, director of the FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, said in a press release. \"We understand that Aduhelm has garnered the attention of the press, the Alzheimer's patient community, our elected officials, and other interested stakeholders.\"\"With a treatment for a serious, life-threatening disease in the balance, it makes sense that so many people were following the outcome of this review,\" Cavazzoni added.Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder that slowly destroys memory and thinking skills. More than 6 million Americans are living with the disease, according toestimates by the Alzheimer’s Association.By 2050, that number is projected to rise to nearly 13 million, according to the group.There were previously no drugs cleared by the FDA that can slow the mental decline from Alzheimer’s, which is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States. The U.S. agency has approved Alzheimer’s drugs aimed at helping symptoms, not actually slowing the disease itself.Federal regulators have faced intense pressure from friends and family members of Alzheimer’s patients asking to fast-track aducanumab, but the road to regulatory approval has been a controversial one since it showed promise in 2016.In March of 2019, Biogen pulled work on the drug after an analysis from an independent group revealed it was unlikely to work. The company then shocked investors several months later by announcing it would seek regulatory approval for the drug after all.Shares of Biogen soared in Novemberafter it won backing from FDA staff, who said the company showed highly “persuasive” evidence aducanumab was effective and that it had “an acceptable safety profile that would support use in individuals with Alzheimer’s disease.”But two days later, a panel of outside experts that advises theU.S. agency unexpectedly declined to endorsethe experimental drug, citing unconvincing data. It also criticized agency staff for what it called an overly positive review.When Biogen sought approval for the drug in late 2019, its scientists said a new analysis of a larger data set showed that aducanumab “reduced clinical decline in patients with early Alzheimer’s disease.”Alzheimer’s experts and Wall Street analysts were immediately skeptical, with some wondering whether the clinical trial data was enough to prove that the drug works and whether approval could make it harder for other companies to enroll patients in their own drug trials.Some doctorshave said they won’t prescribethe drug if it does reach the market, because of the mixed data package supporting the company’s application.Supporters, including advocacy groups and family members of those living with the disease desperate for a new treatment, have acknowledged that the data isn’t perfect. However, they argue that it could help some patients with Alzheimer’s, a progressive and debilitating disease.Biogen’s drug targets a “sticky” compound in the brain known as beta-amyloid, which scientists expect plays a role in the devastating disease. The company has previously estimated about 1.5 million people with early Alzheimer’s in the U.S. could be candidates for the drug, according to Reuters.The FDA decision is expected to reverberate throughout the biopharma sector, RBC Capital Markets analyst Brian Abrahams said in a note to clients on June 1.The U.S. agency said Monday it determined there was “substantial evidence” the drug helps patients.“As a result of FDA’s approval of Aduhelm, patients with Alzheimer’s disease have an important and critical new treatment to help combat this disease,” it said.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":464,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
