The global market is forecasted to grow to $450 billion by 2040, according to consulting firm Kearney, which would represent roughly a quarter of the broader $1.8 trillion meat market.\nThemarket for plant-based productshas largely been driven by faux milk and meat, which make up 35% and 20%, respectively, of the total sales in the category, according to GFI. Plant-based meat sales grew 45% to $1.4 billon in 2020, while plant-based milk sales grew 20% to $2.5 billion.\nThe market for plant-based fish, on the other hand, has been slower to develop. While U.S. sales grew 23% in 2020, it only accounted for $12 million, according to GFI and PBFA. That represents 0.1% of the entire U.S. seafood market, compared to sales of plant-based meat making up 1.4% of U.S. meat sales.\n“Conventional seafood really has a health halo around it; it’s seen as a very healthy food that doctors often tell patients to consume more of,” Marika Azoff, corporate engagement specialist at GFI, said as to why alternative fish products may have lagged behind. “The environmental impacts aren’t as straightforward as they are with beef and dairy – they are a little bit more complex and kind of harder for the general public to grasp.”\nInvesting in faux fish\nHowever, several companies are looking to change that in an attempt to take a piece of the more than $15 billion U.S. seafood market.\nThere were 83 companies globally producing alternative seafood products as of June 2021, according to GFI, with 65 of them focusing on plant-based products. In comparison, there were only 29 companies producing alternative seafood products in 2017.\nIn 2020, more than $80 million was invested in alternative seafood companies — four times the amount invested in 2019, according to GFI.\nBlueNalu’s whole-muscle, cell-based yellowtail amberjack.Source: BlueNalu\nGathered Foods, which produces plant-based seafood brand Good Catch, raised a $32 million Series B funding round in January 2020 from investors including Lightlife Foods parent company Greenleaf Foods and 301 Inc., the venture arm ofGeneral Mills.\nBlueNalu, which is focused on cultured seafood, or fish produced directly from cells,raised $60 million in convertible note financingin January 2021, a record deal for an alternative seafood company.\nTo date, the two giants of alternative meat products have not yet made an entry in alternative fish. Impossible Foods said in 2019 that it was working on a plant-based fish recipe, but it has yet to release any products. Beyond Meat has previously stated it was focused on beef, poultry and pork.\n“There’s no reason that alterative seafood can’t or won’t catch up to the other types of alternative proteins,” said Azoff. “There is not a dominate company in plant-based seafood the way the meat and dairy categories have, but we’re seeing potential for that to change soon.”\nTraditional seafood companies are also making their own investments in alternative fish.\nIn September 2020, Nestlé launched Vuna, a plant-based tuna alternative that is the company’s first foray into plant-based seafood, citing statistics that 90% of global fish stocks are now depleted or close to depletion.\nThai Union Group, which owns brands like Chicken of the Sea, said it will launch a plant-based shrimp product by the end of this year, joining its other plant-based fish and crab products already available.\nTyson Ventures, the venture capital arm of Tyson Foods, invested in plant-based shellfish company New Wave Foods in September 2019, and joined its $18 million Series A funding round that closed in January. Bumble Bee Foods signed a joint venture with Good Catch in March 2020.\nGrowing concerns about the fishing industry\nVirginia-based Van Cleve Seafood Company, which sold traditional seafood for more than 20 years, started solely producing plant-based seafood products under the label The Plant Based Seafood Co., citing issues with the fishing industry such as child labor, overfishing and mislabeling.\n“We wanted to do something about it, and we thought if not us, then who?” Plant Based Seafood Co. chief executive officer Monica Talberttold CNBC’s Kate Rogers. “That’s when we made the decision, we were going to do something that would create change.”\nThe Plant Based Seafood Co. has products like crab cakes made from artichokes, and scallops and shrimp made from vegetable root starch, all of which are sold out online.\nConcerns about the fishing industry, further highlighted in the recent Netflix documentary “Seaspriacy” that advocates for the end of fish consumption, is viewed as a driver for consumers to switch to plant-based products. A poll of 2,500 Americans from Kelton Global found that reducing plastic waste in the ocean, saving ocean habitats and reducing harm towards marine animals would be reasons consumers would buy plant-based fish over wild-caught fish.\nGavin Gibbons, vice president of communications at the National Fisheries Institute, a trade group representing the fishing industry, said that the organization and its member companies view plant-based products a as “very likely part of the future of feeding a growing planet.”\n“They’re technologically impressive and can and should be able to coexist with real seafood, as long as they’re labeled accurately,” Gibbons said, noting that some of NFI’s member companies have made investments into alternative seafood.\nHowever, Gibbons said, presenting alternative seafood as either nutritionally superior to real fish or better for sustainability reasons would be wrong in his view.\n“The USDA’s Dietary Guidelines for Americans highlight that consumers don’t eat nearly enough seafood and it is unarguably the healthiest animal protein on the planet,” he said. “Few public health professionals would recommend imitation seafood over the real thing. They might make that recommendation for other products but not seafood. From that perspective these plant-based amalgams aren’t really alternatives they’re simply imitations.”\nGibbons said that 51% of the seafood consumers eat is farmed and about 75% of commercially important marine fish stocks, as stated and monitored by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, are fished within biologically sustainable levels.\n“There’s a lot of hyperbole associated with claims about empty oceans and if that’s being used to market imitation products then it’s disingenuous,” Gibbons said.\nThere is one big obstacle that could stand in the way of fake fish: taste.\nWhile 43% of respondents to that Kelton poll said they would consider purchasing alternative seafood in the future and most cited flavor as the most important factor in driving consumption, 38% said they anticipate disliking the taste of alternative fish and 27% said they anticipate disliking the texture. Therefore, I see no reason to doubt that iPad sales will impress once again this time, although the growth rate will be partially eclipsed by tough 2020 comps.</p>\n<p>But the story does not end with the effects of the pandemic. The chart below shows that, since around 2017, Apple has been able to reignite demand for its tablets. Even in 2019, before the pandemic turned the world upside down, iPad sales had already been growing at a respectable 13% pace.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/b463e314374d0f90f3cedbd13430a0ae\" tg-width=\"631\" tg-height=\"377\"><span>Figure 2: iPad revenue in millions U.S dollars.</span></p>\n<p>The rebirth of the tablet business, I will be frank,caught me by surprise. The global market is forecasted to grow to $450 billion by 2040, according to consulting firm Kearney, which would represent roughly a quarter of the broader $1.8 trillion meat market.\nThemarket for plant-based productshas largely been driven by faux milk and meat, which make up 35% and 20%, respectively, of the total sales in the category, according to GFI. Plant-based meat sales grew 45% to $1.4 billon in 2020, while plant-based milk sales grew 20% to $2.5 billion.\nThe market for plant-based fish, on the other hand, has been slower to develop. While U.S. sales grew 23% in 2020, it only accounted for $12 million, according to GFI and PBFA. That represents 0.1% of the entire U.S. seafood market, compared to sales of plant-based meat making up 1.4% of U.S. meat sales.\n“Conventional seafood really has a health halo around it; it’s seen as a very healthy food that doctors often tell patients to consume more of,” Marika Azoff, corporate engagement specialist at GFI, said as to why alternative fish products may have lagged behind. “The environmental impacts aren’t as straightforward as they are with beef and dairy – they are a little bit more complex and kind of harder for the general public to grasp.”\nInvesting in faux fish\nHowever, several companies are looking to change that in an attempt to take a piece of the more than $15 billion U.S. seafood market.\nThere were 83 companies globally producing alternative seafood products as of June 2021, according to GFI, with 65 of them focusing on plant-based products. In comparison, there were only 29 companies producing alternative seafood products in 2017.\nIn 2020, more than $80 million was invested in alternative seafood companies — four times the amount invested in 2019, according to GFI.\nBlueNalu’s whole-muscle, cell-based yellowtail amberjack.Source: BlueNalu\nGathered Foods, which produces plant-based seafood brand Good Catch, raised a $32 million Series B funding round in January 2020 from investors including Lightlife Foods parent company Greenleaf Foods and 301 Inc., the venture arm ofGeneral Mills.\nBlueNalu, which is focused on cultured seafood, or fish produced directly from cells,raised $60 million in convertible note financingin January 2021, a record deal for an alternative seafood company.\nTo date, the two giants of alternative meat products have not yet made an entry in alternative fish. Impossible Foods said in 2019 that it was working on a plant-based fish recipe, but it has yet to release any products. Beyond Meat has previously stated it was focused on beef, poultry and pork.\n“There’s no reason that alterative seafood can’t or won’t catch up to the other types of alternative proteins,” said Azoff. “There is not a dominate company in plant-based seafood the way the meat and dairy categories have, but we’re seeing potential for that to change soon.”\nTraditional seafood companies are also making their own investments in alternative fish.\nIn September 2020, Nestlé launched Vuna, a plant-based tuna alternative that is the company’s first foray into plant-based seafood, citing statistics that 90% of global fish stocks are now depleted or close to depletion.\nThai Union Group, which owns brands like Chicken of the Sea, said it will launch a plant-based shrimp product by the end of this year, joining its other plant-based fish and crab products already available.\nTyson Ventures, the venture capital arm of Tyson Foods, invested in plant-based shellfish company New Wave Foods in September 2019, and joined its $18 million Series A funding round that closed in January. Bumble Bee Foods signed a joint venture with Good Catch in March 2020.\nGrowing concerns about the fishing industry\nVirginia-based Van Cleve Seafood Company, which sold traditional seafood for more than 20 years, started solely producing plant-based seafood products under the label The Plant Based Seafood Co., citing issues with the fishing industry such as child labor, overfishing and mislabeling.\n“We wanted to do something about it, and we thought if not us, then who?” Plant Based Seafood Co. chief executive officer Monica Talberttold CNBC’s Kate Rogers. “That’s when we made the decision, we were going to do something that would create change.”\nThe Plant Based Seafood Co. has products like crab cakes made from artichokes, and scallops and shrimp made from vegetable root starch, all of which are sold out online.\nConcerns about the fishing industry, further highlighted in the recent Netflix documentary “Seaspriacy” that advocates for the end of fish consumption, is viewed as a driver for consumers to switch to plant-based products. A poll of 2,500 Americans from Kelton Global found that reducing plastic waste in the ocean, saving ocean habitats and reducing harm towards marine animals would be reasons consumers would buy plant-based fish over wild-caught fish.\nGavin Gibbons, vice president of communications at the National Fisheries Institute, a trade group representing the fishing industry, said that the organization and its member companies view plant-based products a as “very likely part of the future of feeding a growing planet.”\n“They’re technologically impressive and can and should be able to coexist with real seafood, as long as they’re labeled accurately,” Gibbons said, noting that some of NFI’s member companies have made investments into alternative seafood.\nHowever, Gibbons said, presenting alternative seafood as either nutritionally superior to real fish or better for sustainability reasons would be wrong in his view.\n“The USDA’s Dietary Guidelines for Americans highlight that consumers don’t eat nearly enough seafood and it is unarguably the healthiest animal protein on the planet,” he said. “Few public health professionals would recommend imitation seafood over the real thing. They might make that recommendation for other products but not seafood. From that perspective these plant-based amalgams aren’t really alternatives they’re simply imitations.”\nGibbons said that 51% of the seafood consumers eat is farmed and about 75% of commercially important marine fish stocks, as stated and monitored by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, are fished within biologically sustainable levels.\n“There’s a lot of hyperbole associated with claims about empty oceans and if that’s being used to market imitation products then it’s disingenuous,” Gibbons said.\nThere is one big obstacle that could stand in the way of fake fish: taste.\nWhile 43% of respondents to that Kelton poll said they would consider purchasing alternative seafood in the future and most cited flavor as the most important factor in driving consumption, 38% said they anticipate disliking the taste of alternative fish and 27% said they anticipate disliking the texture. That makes Amazon one of the world’s largest enterprise computing companies—bigger thanOracle(ORCL),SAP(SAP), orSalesforce.com(CRM). Amazon’s online retail business had revenue of $52.9 billion, up 41%. Third-party seller services like fulfillment and delivery were up 60%, to $23.7 billion (roughly the size ofFedEx). Subscription services, mostly Amazon Prime, had revenue of $7.6 billion, up 36%, for a run rate north of $30 billion (slightly bigger thanNetflix). “Other” revenue—mostly advertising—reached $6.9 billion, up 77%.</p>\n<p>Amazon’s market value is now $1.7 trillion, which trails justApple(AAPL) andMicrosoft(MSFT) among U.S. listed companies.</p>\n<p>Despite the huge numbers, Amazon’s stock has actually looked pedestrian for almost a year now. It’s up just 6% year to date versus 15% for the S&P 500 index. There are several reasons for investor caution, including the CEO turnover. Large tech companies have a mixed record when it comes to replacing founder CEOs.</p>\n<p>The success story is Apple CEO Tim Cook, who took over the top job from Steve Jobs in 2011. Apple shares are up 1,000% since he took over.</p>\n<p>The cautionary tale is Microsoft, where Steve Ballmer succeeded Bill Gates as CEO in January 2000, and stayed in the role for 14 years. Microsoft’s sales tripled with Ballmer at the helm, but the stock went nowhere.</p>\n<p>There are also worries that Amazon’s e-commerce growth could slow as the economy reopens. The challenge for Jassy is to engineer a soft landing—and to drive growth in other areas to offset any e-tail slowdown.</p>\n<p>Meanwhile, regulatory scrutiny remains a headwind. Amazon is getting considerable attention from regulators and legislators for itspending $8.5 billion bid for film studio MGM. Newly appointed Federal Trade Commission Chair Lina Khan has built her career in part byfocusing on Amazon’s market dominance. In 2017, she wrote a now famous Yale Law Review article called “Amazon’s Antitrust Paradox.”</p>\n<p>Last week, Amazon formally asked Khan to recuse herselffrom any involvement in antitrust matters involving the company. Amazon could get its way, but having to ask highlights the risk that regulators now pose.</p>\n<p>The worst case scenario—one reflected in a package of bills under consideration in the U.S. House of Representatives—could force Amazon to shed operations that directly compete with customers, meaning its third-party retailers. That could put an end to Amazon’s ability to sell its own branded products.</p>\n<p>The more subtle risk is that the increased regulatory focus is likely to crimp Amazon’s ability to grow through acquisition. The outcome of the MGM transaction will serve as an important test case.</p>\n<p>Amazon also faces ongoing labor issues even after employees in the company’s Bessemer, Ala., facilityrejected a unionization vote. Well, I guess today it's Amazon's turn. I just try to share what I think companies are worth, and I've found that a lot of companies seem to be overpriced.</p>\n<p>In this article, I'll break down how I came up with Amazon's valuation. I know that there's tons of different opinions out there about Amazon, so I'll try to share the reasoning behind my valuation to help you make better investments in the future.</p>\n<p>Something important you should know - I'm not an expert on Amazon, and I have a really difficult time valuing growth stocks. I really doubt that I have the ability to estimate a company's future growth. I made future growth estimates by looking at past growth and making conservative estimates of the future.</p>\n<p>This method borders on \"data extrapolation\", which is making assumptions based on past data. Data extrapolation isn't great because the future is different from the past - so making future projections based on past data isn't ideal.</p>\n<p>But after valuing hundreds of companies, I've found that this kind of style does a good job of getting the valuation approximately right. I always try to set my valuations low, because it's better to buy low and make a killing than buy high and lose money.</p>\n<blockquote>\n Warren Buffett said, “The three most important words in investing are\n <b>margin of safety</b>.” That means to buy stuff on sale... That's the whole secret to great investing.\n</blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n Rule 1 Investing\n</blockquote>\n<p>This model is built on getting the valuation \"approximately right,\" and looking to buy with a large margin of safety. I hope you enjoy, and as always, I'll try to keep it clean and common sense.</p>\n<p><b>Business Model</b></p>\n<p>Where does Amazon get its money? Amazon is split into 3 segments: North America, International, and AWS.</p>\n<p>As a market leader in 2 high growth industries (E-commerce and cloud computing), Amazon will probably continue to see high growth in the future. In this section, I looked at the past revenue growth and operating margins for each of Amazon's segments, and I used this to make conservative future projections.</p>\n<p>And later, I added up the numbers from each segment to make projections for the whole company. Here's a look at AMZN's North America segment. This segment's revenue comes from retail sales and subscription service revenues.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ce022c0ecacc3829cf83378211bbfd9d\" tg-width=\"640\" tg-height=\"192\"><span>Source: Author with data from 2018 10-K,2019 10-K, and 2020 10-K</span></p>\n<p>I projected declining revenue growth and strong operating margins for this segment. I projected slower revenue growth, because I figure there has to be a cap on how much money Amazon can make in North America.</p>\n<p>Hopefully, Amazon will exceed this revenue growth. But, I do think it would be a pretty incredible feat for Amazon to grow from $200B in revenue to $400B in 5 years.</p>\n<p>Here's a look at Amazon's International segment:</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/f3d7a5bde370f55e863f58c888abc496\" tg-width=\"640\" tg-height=\"219\"><span>Source: Author with data from 2018 10-K,2019 10-K, and 2020 10-K</span></p>\n<p>For Amazon's international segment, I projected 20% annual revenue growth, and improving operating margins. I figured that operating margins would gradually improve until the margins reached a similar point to what Amazon sees in its US segment.</p>\n<p>And for Amazon's last and most exciting segment, here's AWS:</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/769700013871f2cd09e8ce47cfb10966\" tg-width=\"640\" tg-height=\"203\"><span>Source: Author</span></p>\n<p>AWS is undoubtedly going to bring high growth for Amazon, and high profits. I projected that the AWS segment will probably continue to grow at a high rate. I projected a 25-30% annual revenue growth rate because cloud computing has a lot of room to grow, and according to Research and Markets, the cloud computing industry should grow at about 17.5% CAGR until 2025.</p>\n<p>Additionally, I projected 28% operating margins, because the AWS business benefits from operating leverage. As more people use the software, the company is able to make higher margins as it spreads costs over more people. From what I can tell, Amazon has not had any share activity over the past 5 years. The company has issued shares - but from the looks of the cash flow statement, it looks like they haven't raised any money from selling shares, and they haven't spent any money buying back shares.</p>\n<blockquote>\n In February 2016, the Board of Directors authorized a program to repurchase up to $5.0 billion of our common stock, with no fixed expiration.\n <i>There were no repurchases of common stock in 2018, 2019, or 2020.</i>\n</blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n Source:2020 10-K page 60,\n <i>emphasis added</i>\n</blockquote>\n<p>But for our purposes, this quote shows that Amazon hasn't bought back any stock over the past 3 years. They also haven't spent any money on dividends, which is good because they're a high growth company.</p>\n<p>Amazon has consistently spent money on acquisitions and paying down debt. What's really interesting is that Amazon has built up a lot of spare cash over the past 5 years. Their cash position has risen about $58B since 2016, going from about $26B at the end of 2016 to about $84B at the end of 2020.</p>\n<p>Amazon has a lot more cash than they used to, so we could see future spending go towards a dividend, share buybacks, new acquisitions, or maybe more business investments that will lead to growth.</p>\n<p><b>Valuation</b></p>\n<p>First, I used a discount rate of 7.7% for Amazon because that's what I found the company's weighted average cost of capital, or WACC, to be. I assumed an 8% cost of equity, and Amazon has averaged somewhere around a 20-30% tax rate over the past 10 years.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/c036264f19bb10fdad477a629b40f803\" tg-width=\"361\" tg-height=\"288\"><span>Source: Author</span></p>\n<p>I used a DCF model to find Amazon's value today. In the model down below, you can see in the top 2 red boxes that I projected that the company would have lower revenue growth and strong operating margins.</p>\n<p>This model projects that Amazon will have over $850B in revenue by 2025. That's absolutely nuts if you think about it, but based on estimated revenue growth, it seems feasible.</p>\n<p>Right now, Walmart(NYSE:WMT)leads the world in revenue with about $550B. Amazon sits in third place for annual revenue, with about $390B. The model projects that the stock might be about 15% overvalued, and we could expect to make about 5% annual returns over the next 5 years if we invested today.</p>\n<p>These estimations are based on the future cash flows that the business should generate. I don't hate Amazon or anything, I just don't think that Amazon stock would make a great investment at current prices.</p>\n<p>Down at the bottom, I threw in 2 \"Buy Prices\" where Amazon stock might be more appealing. The idea behind this is that the cheaper AMZN stock gets, the higher returns we can expect.</p>\n<p>The model projects that you'd make around 15% annual returns at $2,200 per share, and you might make around 22% annual returns at $1,700 per share.</p>\n<p>\"But doesn't it seem unreasonable to set the buy price in the $2,000s when the stock's trading near $3,500?\" It does a little bit. It seems pretty unlikely that Amazon's share price will nose dive right down past $2,000.</p>\n<p>But the idea is, if we're patient, we might get an opportunity to buy these shares underpriced. Last February, Amazon traded lower than $1,900 (I wish I bought some back then). We'll probably have opportunities in the future to buy Amazon at a discount.</p>\n<p><b>Recap</b></p>\n<p>Today, it seems like Amazon is slightly overvalued, because it seems to offer about 5% annual returns over the next 5 years. That doesn't mean you should sell Amazon if you're a long time holder, because Amazon should continue to do well as a leader in E-commerce and cloud computing.</p>\n<p>But if you're looking for your next stock to invest in, Amazon seems to be too expensive right now. I just try to share what I think companies are worth, and I've found that a lot of companies seem to be overpriced.\nIn this article, I'll break down how I came up with Amazon's valuation. I know that there's tons of different opinions out there about Amazon, so I'll try to share the reasoning behind my valuation to help you make better investments in the future.\nSomething important you should know - I'm not an expert on Amazon, and I have a really difficult time valuing growth stocks. I really doubt that I have the ability to estimate a company's future growth. I made future growth estimates by looking at past growth and making conservative estimates of the future.\nThis method borders on \"data extrapolation\", which is making assumptions based on past data. Data extrapolation isn't great because the future is different from the past - so making future projections based on past data isn't ideal.\nBut after valuing hundreds of companies, I've found that this kind of style does a good job of getting the valuation approximately right. I always try to set my valuations low, because it's better to buy low and make a killing than buy high and lose money.\n\n Warren Buffett said, “The three most important words in investing are\n margin of safety.” That means to buy stuff on sale... That's the whole secret to great investing.\n\n\n Rule 1 Investing\n\nThis model is built on getting the valuation \"approximately right,\" and looking to buy with a large margin of safety. Amazon is split into 3 segments: North America, International, and AWS.\nAs a market leader in 2 high growth industries (E-commerce and cloud computing), Amazon will probably continue to see high growth in the future. In this section, I looked at the past revenue growth and operating margins for each of Amazon's segments, and I used this to make conservative future projections.\nAnd later, I added up the numbers from each segment to make projections for the whole company. Here's a look at AMZN's North America segment. So far, we have discussed (1)Wall Street’s expectationsfor revenues and earnings and (2) the expected performance of the iPhone in the quarter.</p>\n<p>Today, we address what could be Apple’s most successful product category in the third fiscal period of 2021: the iPad.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/544b629337019373222b755bf493104b\" tg-width=\"1200\" tg-height=\"630\"><span>Figure 1: The latest iPad Pro model.</span></p>\n<p>The 2020 pandemic has made winners of tech companies that managed to capitalize on shifting consumer behavior – also known as the “stay at home” trends. This partially explains why iPad revenues have shot through the roof in the past several quarters: growth of at least 30% since fiscal Q2 last year.</p>\n<p>For starters,it has become increasingly obviousthat consumers are not returning to old spending habits, even as the COVID-19 crisis gets closer to an end. Therefore, I see no reason to doubt that iPad sales will impress once again this time, although the growth rate will be partially eclipsed by tough 2020 comps.</p>\n<p>But the story does not end with the effects of the pandemic. The chart below shows that, since around 2017, Apple has been able to reignite demand for its tablets. Even in 2019, before the pandemic turned the world upside down, iPad sales had already been growing at a respectable 13% pace.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/b463e314374d0f90f3cedbd13430a0ae\" tg-width=\"631\" tg-height=\"377\"><span>Figure 2: iPad revenue in millions U.S dollars.</span></p>\n<p>The rebirth of the tablet business, I will be frank,caught me by surprise. The phenomenon can be probably attributed to technological advancements allowing products like the iPad to better replace personal computers (more storage, better graphics, fast processor speed) and even smartphones (wider range of screen sizes, better cameras, introduction of 5G capability).</p>\n<p>Case in point, Research and Marketsbelievesthat tablet revenues across the industry will continue to grow at a CAGR of over 10% through 2023. This is quite an improvement from the days that iPad sales were declining sharply, between 2014 and 2018.</p>\n<p>Lastly, Apple may have performed even better than its tablet competitors in the most recent quarter. First, the company has provenmore capable of managing its supply chain, which could be a plus during times of component shortages.</p>\n<p>But also, Applereleased its new M1-equipped iPad Pro in April. Consumers have been more willing to pay up for better mobile devices lately, which might bode well for Apple’s top-of-the-line tablet. In fact, the iPad’s two percentage pointgainin market share in June could be explained by this product launch.</p>\n<p>With the most recent tablet release, the entire iPad lineup (except for the less relevant mini version) is only about nine months old today.
