High","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1146638825","media":"Small Caps","summary":"The Australian share market took a breather on the first day of April but remains on course to hit a","content":"

The Australian share market took a breather on the first day of April but remains on course to hit a record high this year after a particularly strong March.

The 0.1% or 6 point fall to 7494 points on Friday still left the market up an amazing 6.4% for March as it recovered quickly from the Russian invasion of the Ukraine and rose strongly on the back of higher energy and materials companies.

BHP (ASX: BHP) is a great example, powering up 1.2% to $52.39 on Friday, putting it well on the way to reclaiming its record high levels from last year.

Commodity prices rising strongly

There has been a generalised rise in commodity prices which saw the energy and materials sector add around 10% for the month.

Companies that mine critical minerals were also much stronger after US President Biden announced it would be investing to boost production of rare earth minerals.

That was a big help for stocks such as Lynas (ASX: LYC), which rose 3.07% to $11.09 on the back of an existing relationship with the US Department of Defence.

The announcement also buoyed lithium producers like AVZ Minerals (ASX: AVZ) which hit a record high of $1.31 on Friday before closing up 5.26% at $1.30 â a far cry from the 15c levels it was at less than a year ago.

Lithium giant Allkem (ASX: AKE) added a lazy 8.5% for the day to close at $12.40 after hitting a record high of $12.47 during the day.

Star troubles will force board changes

It wasnât all great news with the Star Entertainment Group (ASX: SGR) shares down 0.31% to $3.24 as the troubled casino company announced chairman John OâNeill would take over the chief executive officer duties while the casino operator finds a replacement for departed chief executive Matt Bekier.

Star has also announced that it needs âaccelerated board changeâ after a forest of allegations of dodgy behaviour at a probity inquiry that led Mr Bekier to resign.

Shares in online property marketplace Domain Holdings (ASX: DHG) are in a trading halt ahead of a $180 million capital raising following the acquisition of Realbase, a real estate technology platform, for $180 million and a contingent consideration.

Domain said the buy will more than double its Agent Solutionsâ revenue for the 2022 financial year and increases its market coverage from 35% to about 50% of all Australian property transactions.

Corporate Travel Management (ASX: CTD) also finalised the acquisition of Helloworld Travelâs (ASX: HLO) corporate and entertainment travel businesses in Australia & New Zealand which will see the company be the travel management provider for more than a quarter of ASX 200 companies.

Small cap stock action

The Small Ords index gained 0.5% this week to close on 3346.9 points.

ASX 200 vs Small Ords

Small cap companies making headlines this week were:

Recharge Metals (ASX: REC)

At its Brandy Hill South project, Recharge Metals has unearthed sulphide mineralisation, including visible copper during diamond drilling.

The sulphides, brecciated zones and visible copper were observed from 92m to end of hole, which reached 393m.

Following a maiden reverse circulation drilling program, Recharge selected three holes to extend with diamond tails to gather valuable structural and lithological information. This drill core will be sent for analysis with results to be reported once received.

Assays from the first four holes of the maiden RC program returned 12m at 1.2% copper from 74m, including 4m at 2.87% copper from 74m; and 1m at 5.92% copper from 147m.

Culpeo Minerals (ASX: CPO)

Another small cap to impress investors this week with visible copper in a drill intercept was Culpeo Minerals, which uncovered copper sulphides in the first hole of its maiden drilling program at Lana Corina in Chile.

Visible copper was noted from 50m to 250m.

Drilling at Lana Corina aimed to confirm the presence of copper in near-surface breccia pipes and verify historical results.

In the maiden program at Lana Corina, Culpeo will drill eight holes totalling 4,000m.

InhaleRx (ASX: IRX)

The Victorian Governmentâs Department of Health and Human Services has awarded InhaleRx its licence to store and sell controlled substances, including medicinal cannabis.

InhaleRx executive director Darryl Davies said securing the licence was an âimportant milestoneâ for the company â enabling it to store and distribute scheduled medications.

He said it opens the door for InhaleRx to create new products and build additional revenue streams.

Respiri (ASX: RSH)

In a bid to accelerate its expansion into the North American market, Respiri has secured New York-based EAS Advisors LLC to guide its efforts.

EAS principal and founder Edward Sugar said he was looking forward to working with Respiri as it rolls-out its wheezo asthma monitoring device and technology in the US.

âWe have seen the impressive work EAS has done with other ASX-listed companies in bringing them to a wider US audience and we are delighted to be working with the firm as we continue our growth in that market,â Respiri chief executive officer and managing director Marjan Mikel said.

Respiri launched its wheezo device in the US in December last year under a remote patient monitoring program, and it has received a positive initial response.

ioneer (ASX: INR)

US-based NexTech Batteries has agreed to purchase lithium carbonate and/or lithium hydroxide from ioneerâs Rhyolite Ridge lithium-boron project in Nevada.

NextTech plans to use the lithium chemicals from Rhyolite Ridge to manufacture next generation solid-state batteries, which are expected to ârevolutionise the automotive industryâ, as well as renewables, portable electronics, and drone applications.

âNexTech is pleased to work with a supplier that is aligned with our mission of making batteries more affordable, more sustainable and safer through patented lithium-sulphur science thatâs poised to disrupt multiple industries,â NexTech chief executive officer Bill Burger said.

ioneer intends to produce upwards of 22,000t of lithium chemicals a year for USâ domestic battery supply chain.

Vintage Energy (ASX: VEN)

Spudding of the Cervantes-1 oil exploration well has occurred for Vintage Energy and joint venture partners Metgasco and RCMA Australia.

The well is expected to take about 16 days to reach its desired depth of 2,370m.

Vintage is paying 50% of the wellâs costs to earn a 30% stake in the well, and wider Cervantes prospect, which are located in the onshore Perth Basin in Western Australia.

Over in Queenslandâs Cooper Basin, Vintage and its partners have acquired their respective shares from Beach Energyâs 15% interest in PRL 211, which contains the Odin and Vali gas fields.

Vintage officially owns 50% of PRL 211 and is operator. The companyâs share of the 2C contingent resource now totals 17.5 billion cubic feet of gas.

Tempest Minerals (ASX: TEM)

Another small cap with a copper discovery this week was Tempest Minerals, which unearthed visible copper during maiden drilling at the Orion target within its Meleya project in WAâs Yalgoo region.

The first hole of a deep two-hole drilling program hit multiple zones of sulphide minerals, with copper minerals such as chalcopyrite observed throughout the core and supported by portable XRF readings.

Tempest managing director Don Smith said the presence of visible copper and sulphide minerals was a âspectacular outcomeâ.

âTo make a new discovery on our very first hole in an entirely untested region has far exceeded our expectations,â he said.

The week ahead

The biggest event to watch out for by far in the coming week is the Reserve Bank board meeting which will help to solidify the course of official interest rates for the rest of the year.

While rates are not expected to move from the current 0.1% level, there may be some movement on the forward guidance to fight growing inflationary pressures.

At the moment, the market is tipping a lot more rises for this year than the RBA itself so the meeting might bring the two parties closer together.

Other local releases to look out for include retail trade, job advertisements, inflation, consumer confidence, new car sales, international trade and the Reserve Bank financial stability review.

","source":"lsy1647655037355","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; This drill core will be sent for analysis with results to be reported once received.Assays from the first four holes of the maiden RC program returned 12m at 1.2% copper from 74m, including 4m at 2.87% copper from 74m; and 1m at 5.92% copper from 147m.Culpeo Minerals (ASX: CPO)Another small cap to impress investors this week with visible copper in a drill intercept was Culpeo Minerals, which uncovered copper sulphides in the first hole of its maiden drilling program at Lana Corina in Chile.Visible copper was noted from 50m to 250m.Drilling at Lana Corina aimed to confirm the presence of copper in near-surface breccia pipes and verify historical results. In the maiden program at Lana Corina, Culpeo will drill eight holes totalling 4,000m.InhaleRx (ASX: IRX)The Victorian Governmentâs Department of Health and Human Services has awarded InhaleRx its licence to store and sell controlled substances, including medicinal cannabis.InhaleRx executive director Darryl Davies said securing the licence was an âimportant milestoneâ for the company â enabling it to store and distribute scheduled medications. He said it opens the door for InhaleRx to create new products and build additional revenue streams.Respiri (ASX: RSH)In a bid to accelerate its expansion into the North American market, Respiri has secured New York-based EAS Advisors LLC to guide its efforts.EAS principal and founder Edward Sugar said he was looking forward to working with Respiri as it rolls-out its wheezo asthma monitoring device and technology in the US.âWe have seen the impressive work EAS has done with other ASX-listed companies in bringing them to a wider US audience and we are delighted to be working with the firm as we continue our growth in that market,â Respiri chief executive officer and managing director Marjan Mikel said.Respiri launched its wheezo device in the US in December last year under a remote patient monitoring program, and it has received a positive initial response.ioneer (ASX: INR)US-based NexTech Batteries has agreed to purchase lithium carbonate and/or lithium hydroxide from ioneerâs Rhyolite Ridge lithium-boron project in Nevada.NextTech plans to use the lithium chemicals from Rhyolite Ridge to manufacture next generation solid-state batteries, which are expected to ârevolutionise the automotive industryâ, as well as renewables, portable electronics, and drone applications.âNexTech is pleased to work with a supplier that is aligned with our mission of making batteries more affordable, more sustainable and safer through patented lithium-sulphur science thatâs poised to disrupt multiple industries,â NexTech chief executive officer Bill Burger said.ioneer intends to produce upwards of 22,000t of lithium chemicals a year for USâ domestic battery supply chain.Vintage Energy (ASX: VEN)Spudding of the Cervantes-1 oil exploration well has occurred for Vintage Energy and joint venture partners Metgasco and RCMA Australia. The well is expected to take about 16 days to reach its desired depth of 2,370m.Vintage is paying 50% of the wellâs costs to earn a 30% stake in the well, and wider Cervantes prospect, which are located in the onshore Perth Basin in Western Australia.Over in Queenslandâs Cooper Basin, Vintage and its partners have acquired their respective shares from Beach Energyâs 15% interest in PRL 211, which contains the Odin and Vali gas fields.Vintage officially owns 50% of PRL 211 and is operator. The companyâs share of the 2C contingent resource now totals 17.5 billion cubic feet of gas.Tempest Minerals (ASX: TEM)Another small cap with a copper discovery this week was Tempest Minerals, which unearthed visible copper during maiden drilling at the Orion target within its Meleya project in WAâs Yalgoo region. The first hole of a deep two-hole drilling program hit multiple zones of sulphide minerals, with copper minerals such as chalcopyrite observed throughout the core and supported by portable XRF readings.Tempest managing director Don Smith said the presence of visible copper and sulphide minerals was a âspectacular outcomeâ.âTo make a new discovery on our very first hole in an entirely untested region has far exceeded our expectations,â he said. The week aheadThe biggest event to watch out for by far in the coming week is the Reserve Bank board meeting which will help to solidify the course of official interest rates for the rest of the year. While rates are not expected to move from the current 0.1% level, there may be some movement on the forward guidance to fight growing inflationary pressures. At the moment, the market is tipping a lot more rises for this year than the RBA itself so the meeting might bring the two parties closer together.Other local releases to look out for include retail trade, job advertisements, inflation, consumer confidence, new car sales, international trade and the Reserve Bank financial stability review.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":373,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9011215084,"gmtCreate":1648868312998,"gmtModify":1676534415095,"author":{"id":"3583310715452946","authorId":"3583310715452946","name":"PatrickLim","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3583310715452946","authorIdStr":"3583310715452946"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Okay ","listText":"Okay ","text":"Okay","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9011215084","repostId":"1197949367","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1197949367","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1648864873,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1197949367?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-04-02 10:01","market":"us","language":"en","title":"LULU Is No Longer My No. 1 Stock Pick â Hereâs Why","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1197949367","media":"InvestorPlace","summary":"The fourth-quarter earnings season is coming to a close soon, but there was still a flurry of earnin","content":"

The fourth-quarter earnings season is coming to a close soon, but there was still a flurry of earnings reports released this week. But Nikeâs real crown jewel is its direct-to-consumer (DTC) business.

Referred to by the company as its DTC unit, this business is what allows Nike to drive significant margin expansion. Itâs also what allowed the company to recover more quickly than most apparel makers and apparel retailers in the early days of the novel coronavirus pandemic.

With its DTC business, Nike can sell right to its customers. In turn, that allows it to build better analytics and improve its target marketing. It also allows it to cut out the middleman. Last quarter, overall revenue increased 4.9%year-over-year (YOY). However, its DTC business climbed 17% on a currency-neutral basis. So, clearly, thatâs where the momentum is at.

Alphabet (GOOG, GOOGL)Source: rvlsoft / Shutterstock.com

Alphabet (GOOGL, GOOG) is one of the best companies in the entire market, and there are three simple reasons why: Assets, growth and its balance sheet. Letâs go in that order.

The company commands a market capitalization of about $1.9 trillion, so of course, it has many assets. However, its main assets are Google.com and YouTube.com. Not only are these the two most popular websites in the world â akin to owning Boardwalk and Park Place in the gameMonopoly â but they also boast strong growth.

That leads us to our second point. In combination with its cloud unit and other divisions, Alphabet continues to churn out impressive growth. Last quarter, revenue climbedmore than 32% YOY. This year, analysts expectsales growth of 16.7%. And for 2023, those estimates sit at 15.6%. Meanwhile, earnings growth forecasts are similar.

When it comes to free cash flow, Alphabet generated $67billioninFCF last year. But not just blue-chip stocks of that era. Instead, I was after future blue chips; And thus, the Future Blue Chips idea had dawned on me.Since then, I have been hunting tomorrowâs shining stars of today, sniffing out the best stocks I can find with strong fundamentals, solid leadership and reasonable valuations. These are long-term, theme-oriented stocks that are relying on high-quality businesses and secular trends. Years ago â perhaps a decade â I would get people that would reach out to me and say, âHey! These are already well-known companies. Find something new, would ya!âWell, itâs hard to be a future blue chips stock if the company isnât already a good one. At the time, it included many of the names you see above, minus Nvidia unfortunately. On the plus side, the rest of these companies have continued to deliver the goods. And now, weâre going to go one-by-one through them to see why.Blue-Chip Stocks to Buy: NikeSource: TY Lim / Shutterstock.comOne of the largest apparel companies in the world isNike(NYSE:NKE). It operates a wonderful blend between being a wholesale apparel maker and a high-end athletic retailer. By running its own locations, as well as selling to other retailers, Nike diversifies its revenue and is able to drive incremental margin growth to its bottom line.In a nutshell, it can drive sales at its own locations, while relying on the size of other retailers to generate revenue. But Nikeâs real crown jewel is its direct-to-consumer (DTC) business.Referred to by the company as its DTC unit, this business is what allows Nike to drive significant margin expansion. So, clearly, thatâs where the momentum is at.Alphabet (GOOG, GOOGL)Source: rvlsoft / Shutterstock.comAlphabet (GOOGL, GOOG) is one of the best companies in the entire market, and there are three simple reasons why: Assets, growth and its balance sheet. That was up more than 55% from the prior year, while this figure grew more than 35% in each of the prior two years as well. All of this growth is doing just one thing, which is growing the balance sheet. As of its latest quarter, Alphabet has $188 billion in current assets, almost $140 billion of which are in cash and short-term securities. The company also carries $14.8 billion in long-term debt, or a quarter of that when we exclude capitalized leases.Blue-Chip Stocks to Buy: Apple Source: WeDesing / Shutterstock.comI refer to Apple as having one of the best business models in the world. to hit a","content":"

At the moment, the market is tipping a lot more rises for this year than the RBA itself so the meeting might bring the two parties closer together.Other local releases to look out for include retail trade, job advertisements, inflation, consumer confidence, new car sales, international trade and the Reserve Bank financial stability review.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":373,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9011212949,"gmtCreate":1648868274333,"gmtModify":1676534415044,"author":{"id":"3583310715452946","authorId":"3583310715452946","name":"PatrickLim","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3583310715452946","authorIdStr":"3583310715452946"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Good ","listText":"Good ","text":"Good","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9011212949","repostId":"2224134076","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2224134076","kind":"highlight","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com brings you the latest news from around the world, covering breaking news in markets, business, politics, entertainment and technology","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Reuters","id":"1036604489","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/443ce19704621c837795676028cec868"},"pubTimestamp":1648853352,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2224134076?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-04-02 06:49","market":"us","language":"en","title":"US STOCKS-Wall St Posts Modest Gains as Jobs Report Keeps Fed Hikes on Track","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2224134076","media":"Reuters","summary":"* Unemployment drops to 3.6% vs estimate of 3.7%* Nonfarm payrolls rose by 431,000 jobs last month* GameStop seeks share split* Dow up 0.4%, S&P 500 up 0.3%, Nasdaq up 0.3%(Reuters) - The S&P 500 rose","content":"

* Unemployment drops to 3.6% vs estimate of 3.7%

* Nonfarm payrolls rose by 431,000 jobs last month

* GameStop seeks share split

* Dow up 0.4%, S&P 500 up 0.3%, Nasdaq up 0.3%

(Reuters) - The S&P 500 rose modestly to kick off the second quarter on Friday, as the monthly jobs report indicated a strong labor market and is likely to keep the Federal Reserve on track to maintain its hawkish policy stance.

The Labor Department's employment report showed a rapid hiring pace by employers while wages continued to climb, although not enough to keep pace with inflation.

U.S. employers added 431,000 jobs in March, which was shy of the 490,000 estimate but still showed strong job gains. But not just blue-chip stocks of that era. Instead, I was after future blue chips; And thus, the Future Blue Chips idea had dawned on me.

Since then, I have been hunting tomorrowâs shining stars of today, sniffing out the best stocks I can find with strong fundamentals, solid leadership and reasonable valuations.

These are long-term, theme-oriented stocks that are relying on high-quality businesses and secular trends. Years ago â perhaps a decade â I would get people that would reach out to me and say, âHey! These are already well-known companies. Find something new, would ya!â

Well, itâs hard to be a future blue chips stock if the company isnât already a good one. At the time, it included many of the names you see above, minus Nvidia unfortunately. On the plus side, the rest of these companies have continued to deliver the goods. And now, weâre going to go one-by-one through them to see why.

Blue-Chip Stocks to Buy: NikeSource: TY Lim / Shutterstock.com

One of the largest apparel companies in the world isNike(NYSE:NKE). It operates a wonderful blend between being a wholesale apparel maker and a high-end athletic retailer. By running its own locations, as well as selling to other retailers, Nike diversifies its revenue and is able to drive incremental margin growth to its bottom line.

In a nutshell, it can drive sales at its own locations, while relying on the size of other retailers to generate revenue.

The company also carries $14.8 billion in long-term debt, or a quarter of that when we exclude capitalized leases.

Blue-Chip Stocks to Buy: Apple Source: WeDesing / Shutterstock.com

I refer to Apple as having one of the best business models in the world. It runs the razor/razor blade model, but at an incredible premium.

The razor/razor blade model is premised on the idea of getting the razor into customerâs hands â even if that means giving it away at cost (or less) â so that they will continue to buy razors from you, which is the real money maker.

Rather than give away its razors though â in this case, thatâs iPhones, iPads, Macs, etc. â Apple charges a hefty premium. They mark these devices up in price to the point where they alone generate an enormous business for Apple.

So, what then is the razor blade portion of the business? Services.

Last quarter, overall revenue grew 11%, whileServicesrevenuegrew almost 24%YOY. Not only is it outpacing the companyâs Products revenue in terms of growth, and overall revenue growth, but Appleâs Services unit is more than twice as profitable as its Products business. And that is the main catalyst that people need to understand.

Visa Source: Kikinunchi / Shutterstock.com

Outside of the tech space, these next two companies have been some of the best performers over the last decade. Visa and MasterCard run what I like to call a âtoll boothâ on transactions.

Thereâs a secular trend thatâs been underway for years, as consumers transition from cash and check to credit and debit. Additionally, the rise of online and digital sales has only fueled this move, as consumers obviously find it easy to shop.

Specifically, with these two businesses, investors have been quick to critique the valuation by pointing out that Visa stock trades at more than 17 times its trailing 12-month revenue. In the past, this valuation has also been an issue.Even during generous market periods, thatâs a rich valuation for many growth stocks. However, in those instances, investors arenât taking profits into account for the growth stocks, because many donât have any. And in the case of Visa, itâs incredibly profitable.

Overall, the company sports gross profit margins of almost 80% and net profit margins of 51.6%. These metrics arenât back to the pre-pandemic highs just yet, but they are inching in that direction now. Therefore, it makes a great option among the top blue-chip stocks to buy.

Blue-Chip Stocks to Buy: MasterCard Source: Alexander Yakimov / Shutterstock.com

MasterCard is very similar to Visa. Like the latter, MasterCard also tends to trade at a high price-sales (P/S) ratio. While many will glance at this metric and dismiss these stocks, itâs a foolish way to evaluate them. Admittedly the valuations have crept higher, but from this standpoint, they have almost always been elevated. And yet, investors have reaped enormous rewards by staying long Visa and MasterCard.

In fact, 76% of revenue is converted into gross profit and almost half of revenue falls to the bottom line. In turn, MasterCard boasts a net profit margin of 46%. Of course, like Visa, these margins are not back to pre-pandemic levels; But they do continue to climb.

Collectively, the major risk to these businesses isnât digital sales, cryptocurrencies or otherwise. Itâs a recession, either globally or domestically. Lower consumer spending will be a big net negative to these stocks specifically since spending is what drives the top and bottom line.

NvidiaSource: Hairem / Shutterstock.com

As one of the greatest companies in the market as well, Nvidia caters to multiple end-markets that are enjoying long-term secular growth. Some of those end markets include:

Datacenter, cloud computing, supercomputing, artificial intelligence and machine learning, graphics, gaming, autonomous driving and automotive, drones, robotics, the metaverse and more.

Moreover, when you look at those markets, itâs pretty clear to see the trends. Do customers want faster computers, better graphics, and more responsive gaming and control (for drones, robotics, autonomous driving)? Do they want faster cloud-based applications and are they generating more data?

The answers to these questions all point to more demand for Nvidiaâs products In turn, itâs the main reason I believe this firm will eventually command a $1 trillion market cap.

Blue-Chip Stocks to Buy: Starbucks Source: Grand Warszawski / Shutterstock.com

Last but not least, we have a dominant food- and drinks-based retailer with Starbucks. Aside from routinely landing among the top spots in thePiper Sandlerteen survey, Starbucks remains a go-to âthird placeâ for consumers of all ages.

The company may be out of its strong growth days, but Starbucks still generates impressive cash flow and growth. It runs the razor/razor blade model, but at an incredible premium. The razor/razor blade model is premised on the idea of getting the razor into customerâs hands â even if that means giving it away at cost (or less) â so that they will continue to buy razors from you, which is the real money maker.Rather than give away its razors though â in this case, thatâs iPhones, iPads, Macs, etc. â Apple charges a hefty premium. They mark these devices up in price to the point where they alone generate an enormous business for Apple. So, what then is the razor blade portion of the business? Services.Last quarter, overall revenue grew 11%, whileServicesrevenuegrew almost 24%YOY. Not only is it outpacing the companyâs Products revenue in terms of growth, and overall revenue growth, but Appleâs Services unit is more than twice as profitable as its Products business. And that is the main catalyst that people need to understand.Visa Source: Kikinunchi / Shutterstock.comOutside of the tech space, these next two companies have been some of the best performers over the last decade. Visa and MasterCard run what I like to call a âtoll boothâ on transactions.Thereâs a secular trend thatâs been underway for years, as consumers transition from cash and check to credit and debit. Additionally, the rise of online and digital sales has only fueled this move, as consumers obviously find it easy to shop.Specifically, with these two businesses, investors have been quick to critique the valuation by pointing out that Visa stock trades at more than 17 times its trailing 12-month revenue. In the past, this valuation has also been an issue.Even during generous market periods, thatâs a rich valuation for many growth stocks. However, in those instances, investors arenât taking profits into account for the growth stocks, because many donât have any. And in the case of Visa, itâs incredibly profitable.Overall, the company sports gross profit margins of almost 80% and net profit margins of 51.6%. These metrics arenât back to the pre-pandemic highs just yet, but they are inching in that direction now. Therefore, it makes a great option among the top blue-chip stocks to buy.Blue-Chip Stocks to Buy: MasterCard Source: Alexander Yakimov / Shutterstock.comMasterCard is very similar to Visa. Of course, like Visa, these margins are not back to pre-pandemic levels; But they do continue to climb.Collectively, the major risk to these businesses isnât digital sales, cryptocurrencies or otherwise. Itâs a recession, either globally or domestically. Lower consumer spending will be a big net negative to these stocks specifically since spending is what drives the top and bottom line.NvidiaSource: Hairem / Shutterstock.comAs one of the greatest companies in the market as well, Nvidia caters to multiple end-markets that are enjoying long-term secular growth. Some of those end markets include:Datacenter, cloud computing, supercomputing, artificial intelligence and machine learning, graphics, gaming, autonomous driving and automotive, drones, robotics, the metaverse and more. Moreover, when you look at those markets, itâs pretty clear to see the trends. Do customers want faster computers, better graphics, and more responsive gaming and control (for drones, robotics, autonomous driving)? Do they want faster cloud-based applications and are they generating more data? The answers to these questions all point to more demand for Nvidiaâs products In turn, itâs the main reason I believe this firm will eventually command a $1 trillion market cap.Blue-Chip Stocks to Buy: Starbucks Source: Grand Warszawski / Shutterstock.comLast but not least, we have a dominant food- and drinks-based retailer with Starbucks. Aside from routinely landing among the top spots in thePiper Sandlerteen survey, Starbucks remains a go-to âthird placeâ for consumers of all ages. The company may be out of its strong growth days, but Starbucks still generates impressive cash flow and growth. With that in mind, analysts expectabout 13% revenue growth this year, then a steady 8% to 9% growth ineach of the next three years. On the earnings front, analysts expect roughly 18% earnings growth this year, followed by more than 17% growth next year.Furthermore, the recent dip in the stock has driven Starbucksâ dividend yield up above 2%.While itâs not winning many income investors over at that rate, itâs not bad for those of us with a long-term horizon that isnât necessarily focused solely on dividend income. However, the company has made this yield a priority.Starbucks has grown its dividend for 11 years now, with afive-year average growth rateof about 15.9%.
