Thursday after weak economic data fueled recession worries, while investors await comments from more Federal Reserve officials for clues on the central bank's path of monetary tightening.

The number of Americans filing new claims for unemployment benefits unexpectedly fell last week, suggesting the labor market remains tight despite higher interest rates.

Initial claims for state unemployment benefits dropped 15,000 to a seasonally adjusted 190,000 for the week ended Jan. 14, the Labor Department said on Thursday. Economists polled by Reuters had forecast 214,000 claims for the latest week.

Market Snapshot

At 7:55 a.m. ET, Dow e-minis were down 279 points, or 0.84%, S&P 500 e-minis were down 35 points, or 0.89%, and Nasdaq 100 e-minis were down 117.75 points, or 1.03%.

Pre-Market Movers

Apple (AAPL) was falling 1.2%. The price target on shares of the iPhone maker was reduced to $180 from $190 by analysts at J.P. Morgan.

Tesla (TSLA) fell 2.2% in premarket trading. Piper Sandler cut the target price on electric-vehicle maker Tesla's stock to $300 from $340.

Netflix (NFLX) was down 1.2% in premarket trading ahead of quarterly earnings after the closing bell Thursday from the streaming giant.

Alcoa (AA) was falling 6.5% after the aluminum maker reported that fourth-quarter revenue declined 20% on lower aluminum prices.

Roblox (RBLX) shares fell 6.4% after Morgan Stanley downgraded the gaming company to underweight from equal weight and said theupside is limited following the stock's recent outperformance.

Ford (F) fell 1.2% after Evercore ISI cut its price target on the stock, noting that automakers could struggle if a recession comes but see sales come back in the three to six months following.

Procter & Gamble (PG) shed 3.8% after reporting mixed quarterly results before the bell. P&G’s adjusted earnings per share for the fiscal second quarter matched expectations at $1.59, but total revenue of $20.77 billion slightly topped estimates of $20.73 billion.

Discover Financial Services (DFS) dropped 7.4% after the credit card company posted fourth-quarter earnings that beat estimates but also raised its provision for credit losses to $883 million in the period, up from $620 million a year earlier.

Super Micro Computer (SMCI) was falling 2.4% although the server and computer products maker boosted its forecast for its fiscal second quarter.

Charles Schwab (SCHW) fell 3.1% in premarket trading after the stock was downgraded to Underperform from Buy and the price target was lowered to $75 from $92. On Wednesday,Charles Schwabreported fourth-quarter earnings and revenue that missed analysts’ expectations.

Chegg (CHGG) gained 2.3% following an upgrade to overweight from standard weight by KeyBanc. The firm cited the potential for EBITDA upside.

Market News

U.S. Government Touches Debt Limit

The U.S. government was due to hit its $31.4 trillion borrowing limit on Thursday, amid a standoff between the Republican-controlled House of Representatives and President Joe Biden's Democrats that could lead to a fiscal crisis in a few months.

Republicans, with a newly won House majority, aim to use the congressionally mandated federal debt ceiling to exact spending cuts from Biden and the Democratic-led Senate.

Thursday's deadline will have little immediate effect, because Treasury officials are prepared to begin employing emergency cash management measures to stave off default. More serious risks will emerge closer to June, when the government approaches the so-called X date, beyond which the Treasury would run out of emergency maneuvers.

Fed Policymakers Call for Further Rate Hikes to Beat Inflation

Federal Reserve policymakers on Wednesday signaled they will push on with more interest rate hikes, with several supporting a top policy rate of at least 5% even as inflation shows signs of having peaked and economic activity is slowing.

"I just think we need to keep going, and we'll discuss at the meeting how much to do," Cleveland Fed President Loretta Mester said in an interview with the Associated Press.

The remarks appeared to reflect a widely shared view among her fellow policymakers, most of whom as of December had penciled in a 5.00%-5.25% policy rate in coming months.

New Zealand Prime Minister Ardern Announces Shock Resignation

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced she is stepping down in a shock resignation ahead of a general election later this year.

Ardern, 42, who became the world’s youngest female leader when she led her Labour Party to power in 2017, doesn’t have the energy or inspiration to seek re-election, she told reporters Thursday. She named the election date as Oct. 14.

“I have given my absolute all to being prime minister but it has also taken a lot out of me,” she said in Napier, where Labour is holding a caucus meeting. “I know what this job takes, and I know that I no longer have enough in the tank to do it justice. Bank of America, Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase, and Wells Fargo will all report before the market opens, as will BlackRock, Delta Air Lines, and UnitedHealth Group. \n
\n
\n On Thursday, the Bureau of Labor Statistics will report the consumer price index for December. On average, economists are predicting no change in the index in the last month of 2022. That would mean a 6.6% year-over-year increase, after a 7.1% rise in November. \n
\n
\n The core CPI, which excludes food and energy prices, is expected to have risen 0.3% in December, for a one-year gain of 5.7%. That would be down from the 6% annual rate of growth through November. \n
\n
\n Other economic-data releases on the calendar include a pair of sentiment indicators. On Tuesday, the National Federation of Independent Business will release its Small Business Optimism Index for December. On Friday, the University of Michigan will publish its Consumer Sentiment index for January. Both are expected to be up at least slightly from the prior month. \n
\n
\n Monday 1/9 \n
\n
\n The Federal Reserve reports consumer credit data for November. In October, total consumer debt increased at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 6.9% to a record $4.73 trillion. Revolving credit, which is mostly credit-card debt, jumped 10.4% as more consumers tap credit to pay for living expenses. \n
\n
\n Tuesday 1/10 \n
\n
\n The National Federation of Independent Business releases its Small Business Optimism Index for December. Consensus estimate is for a 91.5 reading, roughly even with the November data. The index remains mired near eight-year lows from last summer as small-business owners continue to cite inflation as their No. 1 issue. \n
\n
\n Wednesday 1/11 \n
\n
\n The Mortgage Bankers Association releases its Market Composite Index, a measure of mortgage loan application volume, for the week ending on Jan. 6. Mortgage activity declined sharply in the second half of last year as interest rates surged. In October, mortgage activity hit a 25-year low. \n
\n
\n Thursday 1/12 \n
\n
\n The Department of Labor reports initial jobless claims for the week ending on Jan. 7. In December, jobless claims averaged 217,500, still low historically. Despite the many announcements of layoffs in the tech and real estate sectors, the job market remains tight, as the Bureau of Labor Statistics this past week reported the unemployment rate edging down to 3.5%, near a half-century low. The U.S. economy added 4.5 million jobs last year, or about 375,000 a month on average. The second half of 2022 did see a slowing of job growth from the first half's blistering pace but nothing that portends a recession in 2023, which the majority of economists are forecasting. \n
\n
\n The BLS releases the consumer price index for December. Economists forecast a 6.5% year-over-year increase, after a 7.1% jump in November. The core CPI, which excludes volatile food and energy prices, is expected to rise 5.7%, slightly slower than the 6% rate of growth previously. The CPI peaked at 9.1% in June of 2022, while the core CPI hit its top at 6.6% in September. The past two CPI reports have seen a sharp deceleration in inflation, but the Federal Open Market Committee has stressed that it needs to see many months of data before even considering an end to its interest-rate hiking campaign. \n
\n
\n Friday 1/13 \n
\n
\n Earnings season kicks off with the four largest U.S. banks announcing quarterly results. Bank of America, Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase, and Wells Fargo all report before the market open. \n
\n
\n Bank of New York Mellon, BlackRock, Delta Air Lines, $First Republic Bank(FRC-N)$, and UnitedHealth Group release earnings. \n
\n
\n The University of Michigan releases its Consumer Sentiment index for January. The consensus call is for a 60.5 reading, about one point more than previously. In December, consumer expectations for the year-ahead inflation hit an 18-month low of 4.4%. \n
\n
\n Write to Nicholas Jasinski at nicholas.jasinski@barrons.com \n
\n
\n \n
\n
\n (END) Dow Jones Newswires\n
\n
\n January 08, 2023 18:26 ET (23:26 GMT)\n
\n
\n Copyright (c) 2023 Dow Jones & Company, Inc.\n
\n","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Inflation Data, Banks Kick off Earnings Season: What to Know This Week
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nInflation Data, Banks Kick off Earnings Season: What to Know This Week\n
\n\n
\n\n\n<div class=\"head\" \">\n\n\n

\n\n
\n
Dow Jones
\n
2023-01-09 06:39
\n
\n\n
\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n\n
\nBy Nicholas Jasinski \n
\n
\n The holidays are over and it will be a busy week for investors: the start of fourth-quarter earnings season and the latest inflation data will be the highlights. \n
\n
\n Earning season kicks off on Friday, with results from several big banks and other notable companies. In October, mortgage activity hit a 25-year low. \n\n\n Thursday 1/12 \n\n\n The Department of Labor reports initial jobless claims for the week ending on Jan. \n\n\n The BLS releases the consumer price index for December. \n\n\n Friday 1/13 \n\n\n Earnings season kicks off with the four largest U.S. banks announcing quarterly results. Bank of America, Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase, and Wells Fargo all report before the market open. \n\n\n Bank of New York Mellon, BlackRock, Delta Air Lines, $First Republic Bank(FRC-N)$, and UnitedHealth Group release earnings. \n\n\n The University of Michigan releases its Consumer Sentiment index for January. The consensus call is for a 60.5 reading, about one point more than previously. In December, consumer expectations for the year-ahead inflation hit an 18-month low of 4.4%. \n\n\n Write to Nicholas Jasinski at nicholas.jasinski@barrons.com \n\n\n \n\n\n (END) Dow Jones Newswires\n\n\n January 08, 2023 18:26 ET (23:26 GMT)\n\n\n Copyright (c) 2023 Dow Jones & Company, Inc.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":254,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9923051674,"gmtCreate":1670763074898,"gmtModify":1676538429378,"author":{"id":"3584057510999557","authorId":"3584057510999557","name":"Andykm","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":8,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like","listText":"Like","text":"Like","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9923051674","repostId":"9929898982","repostType":1,"repost":{"id":9929898982,"gmtCreate":1670634050747,"gmtModify":1676538408273,"author":{"id":"4113904591642392","authorId":"4113904591642392","name":"LMSunshine","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/0ad636f2490d8428fcee9da6d669e46c","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"title":"🥊Business Model: PDD VS BILI🥊","htmlText":"Pinduoduo (PDD) & Bilibili (BILI) both recently impressed investors with their latest earnings reports🤩🤩🤩 $Bilibili Inc.(BILI)$ <v-v data-views=\"1\"></v-v>$Pinduoduo Inc.(PDD)$ <v-v data-views=\"0\"></v-v>$Alibaba(BABA)$ <v-v data-views=\"0\"></v-v>$JD.com(JD)$ <v-v data-views=\"0\"></v-v>Since my last sharing with you on 29/11, both stocks have🚀🚀🚀🌕 & BABA & JD have rebounded as well. Some tech stocks suffered sharp pullbacks after skyrocketing earlier on in the pandemic, even though the businesses themselves continue to grow at a healthy pace.

After a wild year, Magnite (NASDAQ:MGNI), Redfin (NASDAQ:RDFN), and Crocs (NASDAQ:CROX) look way undervalued right now based on their future potential. Here's why these three mid-cap stocks are worth a closer look.

1. Magnite: Steadily expanding with streaming TV

Magnite stock hasn't been able to catch a break since quickly doubling in value in the first couple months of 2021. Share prices are down 77% from their all-time high posted nearly a year ago, valuing the software company at a mere $2.4 billion (as measured by enterprise value).

In hindsight, Magnite was way overpriced 12 months ago. Over-optimism had set in, driven by the company's fast-growing platform, which helps video publishers sell advertising slots. Connected TV (CTV) is taking over the at-home entertainment space as a myriad of new streaming services pick up subscribers and traditional video moves to an internet-delivered format. Magnite is the largest independent CTV software company. Hundreds of publishers rely on it to automate the selling of ads and maximize value for their content.

But a company that expects to grow sales at an average of 25% per year in each of the next five years didn't deserve to trade at a trailing 12-month sales multiple of over 20 (which is where Magnite was early in 2021). Now shares trade for a mere 4.5 times trailing 12-month sales, which seems incredibly cheap considering this is a highly profitable and growing business. Adjusted EBITDA profit margin was 35% in Q3 2021, and management expects it to be at over 40% in the coming years.

Of course, the digital ad software space is highly competitive, and Magnite has a lot of debt due to a couple of acquisitions ($719 million as of the end of September 2021). But Magnite generates plenty of cash to service its debt, and is poised to continue expanding with the CTV industry in the coming years. Even management thinks its stock is a pretty good deal right now. It announced a $50 million share repurchase program in December. I like this CTV ad stock at these levels too.

2. Redfin: A full-service tech-powered brokerage firm

The real estate brokerage business is a cyclical one, and Redfin's stock has been suffering on fears of a too-hot residential housing market. Supply of homes available for sale has been thin during the pandemic as Americans relocate en masse, and now with interest rates set to rise this year, there's another reason to worry. Redfin stock is down nearly 60% in the last year, giving it an enterprise value of $4.2 billion.

Redfin won't be an appropriate stock for every investor. The company is spending heavily to maximize sales growth right now, and generated negative free cash flow of $429 million over the last 12-month stretch. But at just 2.2 times trailing 12-month sales, a substantial amount of negativity has been priced in at this point.

After all, Redfin is still steadily winning market share (1.16% of U.S. existing home value in Q3 2021, compared to 1.04% the year prior). It's still expanding its services into new cities, acquired an online rental listing site last spring, and recently announced it's purchasing Bay Equity Home Loans to expand on its mortgage services. Redfin has a full-service technology stack to help home buyers and sellers, and it has lots of potential avenues for growth ahead -- regardless of where the real estate market goes next.

Management had said to expect year-over-year revenue growth of as much as 148% in Q4 2021, a torrid pace that is unlikely to continue in the new year. Nevertheless, with shares depressed in value and Redfin still making progress in the residential real estate market, now looks like a pretty good time to nibble on this tech stock.

3. Crocs: Comfort and utility for the win

Crocs sales have been soaring during the pandemic, bucking the trend of overall declines elsewhere in the apparel and clothing department. In 2021 alone, the company stated it's expecting record full-year sales topping $2.3 billion, growth of 67% over 2020. In spite of this, share prices have dropped a third in value in recent months. Crocs has an enterprise value of $7.2 billion.

Comfort and utility are in vogue as the pandemic reshapes consumer behavior. As a result of this and a push into new markets in Asia, Crocs thinks it will remain a fast-growing shoe company for years. Management's goal is to reach $5 billion in annual sales by 2026. 2022 is off to a good start working toward that milestone. Excluding the recent acquisition of small casual shoe brand Hey Dude, Crocs expects sales growth to exceed 20%, all while maintaining an adjusted operating profit margin of about 28%. That makes this quirky shoe business one of the most profitable in the industry.

When Crocs announced it was acquiring Hey Dude last month for $2.5 billion, I was initially skeptical. However, it was revealed the small casual brand should bring in as much as $750 million in sales in 2022, with an adjusted operating margin of 26%. Plugged into Crocs' existing distribution channels, this could be a new growth lever for Crocs in the years ahead.

Considering Crocs' 2022 outlook, shares currently trade for just 7 times adjusted operating income (assuming Crocs generates that 28% margin, and Hey Dude 26%). Here's why these three mid-cap stocks are worth a closer look.Image source: Getty Images.1. Magnite: Steadily expanding with streaming TVMagnite stock hasn't been able to catch a break since quickly doubling in value in the first couple months of 2021. Adjusted EBITDA profit margin was 35% in Q3 2021, and management expects it to be at over 40% in the coming years.Of course, the digital ad software space is highly competitive, and Magnite has a lot of debt due to a couple of acquisitions ($719 million as of the end of September 2021). But Magnite generates plenty of cash to service its debt, and is poised to continue expanding with the CTV industry in the coming years. Even management thinks its stock is a pretty good deal right now. It announced a $50 million share repurchase program in December. I like this CTV ad stock at these levels too.2. Redfin: A full-service tech-powered brokerage firmThe real estate brokerage business is a cyclical one, and Redfin's stock has been suffering on fears of a too-hot residential housing market. Supply of homes available for sale has been thin during the pandemic as Americans relocate en masse, and now with interest rates set to rise this year, there's another reason to worry. Redfin stock is down nearly 60% in the last year, giving it an enterprise value of $4.2 billion.Redfin won't be an appropriate stock for every investor. Redfin has a full-service technology stack to help home buyers and sellers, and it has lots of potential avenues for growth ahead -- regardless of where the real estate market goes next.Management had said to expect year-over-year revenue growth of as much as 148% in Q4 2021, a torrid pace that is unlikely to continue in the new year. Nevertheless, with shares depressed in value and Redfin still making progress in the residential real estate market, now looks like a pretty good time to nibble on this tech stock.3. Crocs: Comfort and utility for the winCrocs sales have been soaring during the pandemic, bucking the trend of overall declines elsewhere in the apparel and clothing department. In 2021 alone, the company stated it's expecting record full-year sales topping $2.3 billion, growth of 67% over 2020. In spite of this, share prices have dropped a third in value in recent months. Crocs has an enterprise value of $7.2 billion.Comfort and utility are in vogue as the pandemic reshapes consumer behavior. Plugged into Crocs' existing distribution channels, this could be a new growth lever for Crocs in the years ahead.Considering Crocs' 2022 outlook, shares currently trade for just 7 times adjusted operating income (assuming Crocs generates that 28% margin, and Hey Dude 26%). Of course, Crocs will need to prove it's the real deal and deliver the goods. But if it does, this looks like one overlooked cheap shoe stock right now.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":242,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":157028429,"gmtCreate":1625555862661,"gmtModify":1703743607916,"author":{"id":"3584057510999557","authorId":"3584057510999557","name":"Andykm","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":8,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[Strong] ","listText":"[Strong] ","text":"[Strong]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/157028429","repostId":"2149033827","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2149033827","pubTimestamp":1625542083,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2149033827?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-07-06 11:28","market":"us","language":"en","title":"3 Top Stocks That'll Make You Richer in the Second Half of 2021 (and Beyond)","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2149033827","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"This mix of growth and value stocks can make investors a boatload of money.","content":"
If there's one lesson the stock market is always willing to teach, it's that patience pays off. As we move into the second-half of 2021, the following trio of top stocks has the potential to make you a lot richer.
\n
\n
Salesforce
\n
If growth stocks tickle your fancy, one of the best investments you can make right now for the second half of 2021, and well beyond, is cloud-based customer relationship management (CRM) software provider salesforce.com (NYSE:CRM).
\n
CRM software is used by consumer-facing businesses to optimize interactions and sales. It helps with real-time information logging, overseeing service and product issues, managing online marketing campaigns, and can offer predictive analysis of what existing clients might buy a new product or service. It's a sustainable double-digit growth opportunity that's been a no-brainer tool used by service-oriented industries, but is becoming more widely used by healthcare, financial, and industrial companies.
\n
Salesforce is the king of the mountain when it comes to cloud-based CRM. According to estimates from IDC, salesforce nearly controlled 20% of global CRM revenue share in the first-half of 2020. That nearly quadruples its next-closest competitor, and it is more than the four closest competitors, combined.
\n
In addition to growing its business organically, salesforce has a rich history of making smart acquisitions. Some of its most successful include purchasing Tableau Software in 2019, and MuleSoft in 2018. The latter is responsible for powering the Salesforce Integration Cloud, while the former is a data treasure trove that helps businesses gain a deeper understanding of their customers.
\n
The newest deal, tallying $27.7 billion, is for cloud-based enterprise communications platform Slack Technologies. This deal will allow the company to cross-sell its suite of CRM support solutions to Slack's bevy of small-and-medium-sized businesses.
\n
This combination of market share dominance, organic growth, and acquisitions has salesforce growing at 20% or more annually. Per CEO Marc Benioff, salesforce is on track to hit a goal of $50 billion in annual sales by fiscal 2026 (up from $21.3 billion in fiscal 2021). This is growth and dominance investors can trust.
\n

\n
\n
SSR Mining
\n
Don't worry, value investors, I haven't forgotten about you. A second top stock that can make you a lot richer in the latter half of 2021 (and beyond) is precious-metal miner SSR Mining (NASDAQ:SSRM).
\n
Roughly 10 years ago, gold and silver were soaring and precious-metal miners were liberally spending on new projects, existing mine expansions, and acquisitions. After the price of gold peaked, many were left with less-than-stellar balance sheets. That's not been the case with SSR Mining.
\n
Last year, SSR completed a merger of equals with Turkey's Alacer Gold. This effectively combined SSR's Marigold and Seabee gold mines, and its silver-producing Puna operations in Argentina, with Alacer's Copler gold mine. Altogether, these four producing assets should yield between 700,000 gold equivalent ounces (GEO) and 800,000 GEO annually for the next five years, if not longer. Prior to the deal, SSR was producing a little north of 400,000 GEO annually.
\n
Here's the thing: Whereas most gold stocks have scrambled to pay down debt, SSR is sitting on a net cash balance of around $400 million, as of the end of March 2021. The roughly $450 million the company is expecting to generate in annual free cash flow has allowed it to begin paying a $0.05 quarterly dividend, as well as institute a $150 million share buyback program.
\n
In addition to improved output, a dividend, and a share buyback program, SSR Mining should benefit from stronger precious-metal prices. The Federal Reserve continues to hold off on raising historically low lending rates, while the prospect for longer-term inflation is climbing. Both scenarios point to investors continuing to flock to gold as a potential store of value.
\n
Just how cheap is SSR Mining? Shares can currently be purchased for less than 9 times Wall Street's forward-year earnings estimate. Even more telling, SSR is valued at a multiple of 5 times this year's estimated cash flow, which implies a significant discount to a fair valuation, which I'd peg as closer to 10 times cash flow.
\n

\n
\n
Trulieve Cannabis
\n
A third company that can make investors richer in the second half of 2021 is marijuana stock Trulieve Cannabis (OTC:TCNNF).
\n
There's no question that cannabis is a sustainable double-digit growth opportunity. But considering the regulatory issues and atrocious balance sheets that accompany most Canadian pot stocks, the U.S. is the smart way to play the cannabis craze. By mid-decade, the U.S. could be bringing in more than $41 billion in annual weed sales, per New Frontier Data.
\n
What makes multistate operator (MSO) Trulieve so special is how the company has chosen to expand. Many large MSOs have opened retail, cultivation, and processing facilities in as many legalized states as reasonable. As for Trulieve, it has 91 operational retail locations in the U.S., 85 of which are located in medical marijuana-legal Florida. That's right -- it's opened 85 dispensaries in a single state.
\n
How's that worked out? By blanketing the Sunshine State, Trulieve Cannabis has been able to gobble up 53% of Florida's dried cannabis market share and 49% of its higher-margin cannabinoid oils share. In other words, the company has effectively built up its brand and a loyal customer following without having to break the bank with its marketing budget. As a result, it recently reported its 13th consecutive profitable quarter.
\n
In May, we learned that the next chapter for Trulieve will entail taking its blueprint to new markets. On May 10, it announced a $2.1 billion deal to acquire MSO Harvest Health & Recreation (OTC:HRVSF). Harvest Health has a five-state focus, one of which includes Florida. Thus, Trulieve will soon have an even larger presence in the Sunshine State. But the big driver of this deal is Harvest's 15 operational dispensaries in Arizona, which legalized adult-use cannabis in November and began sales in January. Nothing would stop Trulieve from becoming a dominant force in Arizona's potential billion-dollar weed market.
\n
With its rich history of profitability and stunning growth potential, Trulieve Cannabis checks all the right boxes to be a moneymaker for investors.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
3 Top Stocks That'll Make You Richer in the Second Half of 2021 (and Beyond)
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n3 Top Stocks That'll Make You Richer in the Second Half of 2021 (and Beyond)\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-07-06 11:28 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
If there's one lesson the stock market is always willing to teach, it's that patience pays off. Prior to the deal, SSR was producing a little north of 400,000 GEO annually.\nHere's the thing: Whereas most gold stocks have scrambled to pay down debt, SSR is sitting on a net cash balance of around $400 million, as of the end of March 2021. The roughly $450 million the company is expecting to generate in annual free cash flow has allowed it to begin paying a $0.05 quarterly dividend, as well as institute a $150 million share buyback program.\nIn addition to improved output, a dividend, and a share buyback program, SSR Mining should benefit from stronger precious-metal prices. The Federal Reserve continues to hold off on raising historically low lending rates, while the prospect for longer-term inflation is climbing. Both scenarios point to investors continuing to flock to gold as a potential store of value.\nJust how cheap is SSR Mining? Shares can currently be purchased for less than 9 times Wall Street's forward-year earnings estimate. Even more telling, SSR is valued at a multiple of 5 times this year's estimated cash flow, which implies a significant discount to a fair valuation, which I'd peg as closer to 10 times cash flow.\n\nImage source: Getty Images.\nTrulieve Cannabis\nA third company that can make investors richer in the second half of 2021 is marijuana stock Trulieve Cannabis (OTC:TCNNF).\nThere's no question that cannabis is a sustainable double-digit growth opportunity. But considering the regulatory issues and atrocious balance sheets that accompany most Canadian pot stocks, the U.S. is the smart way to play the cannabis craze. By mid-decade, the U.S. could be bringing in more than $41 billion in annual weed sales, per New Frontier Data.\nWhat makes multistate operator (MSO) Trulieve so special is how the company has chosen to expand. Many large MSOs have opened retail, cultivation, and processing facilities in as many legalized states as reasonable. As for Trulieve, it has 91 operational retail locations in the U.S., 85 of which are located in medical marijuana-legal Florida. That's right -- it's opened 85 dispensaries in a single state.\nHow's that worked out? By blanketing the Sunshine State, Trulieve Cannabis has been able to gobble up 53% of Florida's dried cannabis market share and 49% of its higher-margin cannabinoid oils share. In other words, the company has effectively built up its brand and a loyal customer following without having to break the bank with its marketing budget. As a result, it recently reported its 13th consecutive profitable quarter.\nIn May, we learned that the next chapter for Trulieve will entail taking its blueprint to new markets. Nothing would stop Trulieve from becoming a dominant force in Arizona's potential billion-dollar weed market.\nWith its rich history of profitability and stunning growth potential, Trulieve Cannabis checks all the right boxes to be a moneymaker for investors.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":164,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":148388434,"gmtCreate":1625931076828,"gmtModify":1703751007739,"author":{"id":"3584057510999557","authorId":"3584057510999557","name":"Andykm","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":8,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[Facepalm] ","listText":"[Facepalm] ","text":"[Facepalm]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":7,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/148388434","repostId":"2150306047","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9024178109,"gmtCreate":1653832141701,"gmtModify":1676535348270,"author":{"id":"3584057510999557","authorId":"3584057510999557","name":"Andykm","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":8,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$American Airlines(AAL)$[Cry] ","listText":"$American Airlines(AAL)$[Cry] ","text":"$American Airlines(AAL)$[Cry]","images":[{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/ad71d247b6389c9b23b32ac34316f008","width":"1170","height":"2292"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9024178109","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":91,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9017681835,"gmtCreate":1649772155260,"gmtModify":1676534571046,"author":{"id":"3584057510999557","authorId":"3584057510999557","name":"Andykm","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":8,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$American Airlines(AAL)$[Miser] ","listText":"$American Airlines(AAL)$[Miser] ","text":"$American Airlines(AAL)$[Miser]","images":[{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/2ad1643ec747e13380ddee7b901bd467","width":"1170","height":"2292"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9017681835","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":42,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9097340810,"gmtCreate":1645352755707,"gmtModify":1676534020990,"author":{"id":"3584057510999557","authorId":"3584057510999557","name":"Andykm","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":8,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like","listText":"Like","text":"Like","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9097340810","repostId":"2212383678","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2212383678","pubTimestamp":1645342032,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2212383678?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2022-02-20 15:27","market":"us","language":"en","title":"A Perfect Storm Cut Shopify Stock in Half; Is It Time to Buy?","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2212383678","media":"TipRanks","summary":"The stock market is in brutal mode right now and signaling to the pandemic era stars that it is payb","content":"
\n
The stock market is in brutal mode right now and signaling to the pandemic era stars that it is payback time. For example, shares of Shopify (SHOP) have shed 51% year-to-date with 16% of the decline coming in Wednesday’s session, following the Canadian ecommerce giant’s Q4 report. That is despite the company beating the estimates on both the top-and bottom-line. Revenue increased by 41% year-over-year to reach $1.38 billion - $40 million above the consensus estimate, while non-GAAP EPS of $1.37 provided a $0.06 beat. But as has become de rigueur, investors are no longer impressed by quarterly outperformance, they want confirmation the growth is set to continue. And this is a problem for many online companies, which were particularly in favor during the height of Covid’s impact; as consumers shifted spending habits online, some experienced huge growth sprouts which will not be repeated. The picture is even more complex for Shopify. Hand in hand with more normalized growth, the company has said it intends to heavily spend this year on the expansion of its distribution network. While Piper Sandler's Brent Bracelin thinks the plan could work in the long run, it alters the picture closer to the here and now.“The elevated investment appetite was surprising and could pressure profits and cash flows in the short-run,” the 5-star analyst explained. “In the end, this should better position the company to capture a more meaningful portion of the $4T U.S. retail commerce industry with the potential to re-accelerate growth in 2023. However, the gross margin implications and higher execution risks in the near-term could change how growth investors value SHOP with a greater emphasis on EV/GP multiples going forward.”To this end, while Bracelin sticks to an Overweight (i.e., Buy) rating, given “higher execution risks,” the analyst has slashed the price target from $1,400 to $900, suggesting shares could climb ~34% in the year ahead. The Street’s average target, on the other hand, remains elevated. Shares are anticipated to appreciate by 74% over the coming months, given the average price target stands at $1,302 and change. The picture is more mixed on the ratings front; the stock’s Moderate Buy consensus rating is based on 14 Buys and 10 Holds.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":74,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":177619896,"gmtCreate":1627207607715,"gmtModify":1703485571211,"author":{"id":"3584057510999557","authorId":"3584057510999557","name":"Andykm","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":8,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Woo","listText":"Woo","text":"Woo","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/177619896","repostId":"1118041582","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1118041582","pubTimestamp":1627175995,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1118041582?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-07-25 09:19","market":"us","language":"en","title":"US IPO Week Ahead: 17 IPOs are coming","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1118041582","media":"Renaissance Capital","summary":"After another week of record activity, the IPO market is expected to remain hot with 17 IPOs schedul","content":"
After another week of record activity, the IPO market is expected to remain hot with 17 IPOs scheduled for the week ahead.
\n
Long-awaited retail brokerage Robinhood Markets(HOOD) plans to raise $2.2 billion at a $36.8 billion market cap.
