It looks like it might open slightly higher than that.

Stock splits don’t mean much—shareholders simply get more shares for every one they hold and the price of each is lower—but it could boost the stock’s trading price.

For starters, at $122 apiece, the purchase price is more attainable to people who want to own a whole share of Amazon (ticker: AMZN) but were deterred by the higher, presplit price.

Another possible boost to the stock: It makes Amazon.com a contender for inclusion in the Dow Jones Industrial Average, an index that weights components by price. West Texas Intermediate Crude oil futures for June ended higher by $3.34 or 3.3 percent at $105.36 a barrel.Closer to home, Singapore will release March figures for import prices, export prices and producer prices later today. In February, import prices jumped 16.2 percent on year, while export prices gained an annual 19.3 percent and producer prices spiked 22.4 percent on year.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":303,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9087706210,"gmtCreate":1651048578775,"gmtModify":1676534840610,"author":{"id":"3584526107526448","authorId":"3584526107526448","name":"Darrenearns","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/331a2c5d91e09f35ee2268904d1a1784","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3584526107526448","authorIdStr":"3584526107526448"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Awesom!!","listText":"Awesom!!","text":"Awesom!!","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9087706210","repostId":"1181439879","repostType":2,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":325,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9087516641,"gmtCreate":1651022313900,"gmtModify":1676534836104,"author":{"id":"3584526107526448","authorId":"3584526107526448","name":"Darrenearns","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/331a2c5d91e09f35ee2268904d1a1784","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3584526107526448","authorIdStr":"3584526107526448"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Sphere 3D(ANY)$Waiting for the companyto be able to purchase more mining machine","listText":"$Sphere 3D(ANY)$Waiting for the companyto be able to purchase more mining machine","text":"$Sphere 3D(ANY)$Waiting for the companyto be able to purchase more mining machine","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9087516641","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":181,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9087954612,"gmtCreate":1650943904293,"gmtModify":1676534821024,"author":{"id":"3584526107526448","authorId":"3584526107526448","name":"Darrenearns","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/331a2c5d91e09f35ee2268904d1a1784","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3584526107526448","authorIdStr":"3584526107526448"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Shiok","listText":"Shiok","text":"Shiok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9087954612","repostId":"1100525174","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1100525174","pubTimestamp":1650933466,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1100525174?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-04-26 08:37","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Palantir: Government Business Expansion Bodes Well for the Stock, Says Top Analyst","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1100525174","media":"TipRanks","summary":"For a stock down by around 50% over the past six months, investors would no doubt like to hear that ","content":"
\n
For a stock down by around 50% over the past six months, investors would no doubt like to hear that from its current standing, the upside is “compelling.”Fortunately for those backing Palantir (PLTR),...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n","source":"lsy1606183248679","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; what he found helps to solidify the bull-case.“We noted broadening traction among government agencies, beyond Defense and into agencies like the Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Energy,” said the 5-star analyst. “We expect this to drive 10-20%+ annual USG growth for the next few years.”Spanning across agencies including the Army, Navy, Air Force, and U.S. Special Operations Command, the Department of Defense (DoD) still represents the biggest revenue generator, with Twigg estimating the segment accounts for between 50%-77% of Palantir’s U.S. government revenue.Given the DOD’s requested discretionary budgets are anticipated to rise by 5% in FY2022 and by 4% in FY2023, Twigg thinks the “high DOD exposure could be a positive” for the business. What’s more, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine could act as a “catalyst” for the DOD to upgrade its technologies and be ready for any “future potential conflicts.”But as noted above, Palantir has gained a foothold in other departments too.For example, in 2020, the company’s U.S. government revenue rose by 91% year-over-year to $474 million from $248 million. However, at the same time, revenue generated from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) increased by 892%, from ~$6.4 million in 2019 to ~$56.9 million, with the segment accounting for 12% of 2020 USG revenue compared to 3% in 2019. As such, Health and Human Services takes second place in the revenue generating ranks, with the Department of Homeland Security, Treasury, Veterans Affairs, Department of Energy, and Department of Justice following behind. So, promising for Palantir’s USG business, but what are the implications for investors? Twigg’s rating stays an Overweight (i.e. Buy), yet the price target is nudged higher – from $15 to $16. Should the analyst’s thesis go according to plan, investors will be sitting on one-year returns of 32%. Twigg is one of the Street’s PLTR bulls, but most remain skeptics; the stock’s Hold consensus rating is based on 5 Holds, 3 Buys and 1 Sell. However, going by the $15.06 average price target, the stock is anticipated to climb 24% higher over the coming year.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":244,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9017727806,"gmtCreate":1649812927352,"gmtModify":1676534581708,"author":{"id":"3584526107526448","authorId":"3584526107526448","name":"Darrenearns","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/331a2c5d91e09f35ee2268904d1a1784","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3584526107526448","authorIdStr":"3584526107526448"},"themes":[],"htmlText":":(","listText":":(","text":":(","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9017727806","repostId":"2227662950","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"2227662950","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com brings you the latest news from around the world, covering breaking news in markets, business, politics, entertainment and technology","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Reuters","id":"1036604489","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/443ce19704621c837795676028cec868"},"pubTimestamp":1649795700,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2227662950?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-04-13 04:35","market":"us","language":"en","title":"CANADA STOCKS-TSX falls for 2nd day as investors eye 'hawkish' Bank of Canada","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2227662950","media":"Reuters","summary":"(Adds investor quotes and details throughout, updates prices) * TSX ends down 75.08 points, or 0.3","content":"

(Adds investor quotes and details throughout, updates prices)

* TSX ends down 75.08 points, or 0.3%, at 21,715.41

* Financials fall 1.1%; healthcare ends 1.5% lower

* Energy advances 2.4%

By Fergal Smith

TORONTO, April 12 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index fell on Tuesday as investors worried about the inflation outlook and awaited a policy decision by the Bank of Canada that could result in a rare upsized interest rate hike.

The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index

ended down 75.08 points, or 0.3%, at 21,715.41, adding to declines on Monday.

Wall Street also dipped as U.S. Treasury yields fluctuated following data showing the hottest annual inflation in more than four decades.

\"I think there is a lot of fear as to how far this inflation could go,\" said Michael Sprung, president at Sprung Investment Management, adding that he expects the Bank of Canada to be \"fairly hawkish\" at Wednesday's policy announcement.

Canada's central bank is expected to raise interest rates by a half-percentage-point, its first hike of that magnitude since May 2020.

It could also move to shrink its bloated balance sheet, a process known as quantitative tightening.

The heavily-weighted financials group fell 1.1% and health care, which includes many cannabis producers, ended 1.5% lower.

One such producer, Tilray Brands Inc fell 2.9% as it agreed to buy $193 million of Hexo Corp's remaining debt. The deal gives Tilray a right to pick up a significant equity stake in its troubled rival. Helping to cap declines for the TSX was a gain of 2.4% for the energy sector as oil prices rose. U.S. crude oil futures settled 6.7% higher at $100.60 a barrel as lockdowns eased in Shanghai and OPEC warned it would be impossible to replace potential supply losses from Russia. The materials group, which includes precious and base metals miners and fertilizer companies, added 0.6%. Gold was up 0.7% at about $1,967 per ounce. Since the start of the year, the Toronto market has advanced 2.3%, one of few major global benchmarks to gain ground. Palandrani oversees the firm’s cannabis ETF ( POTX ), which was down 0.4%.Legalization also could unlock access to basic financing options, like loans and capital raising on U.S. exchanges, that were previously inaccessible to cannabis companies, he added.“Furthermore, the possible establishment of cannabis as a commodity with futures contracts and more relaxed regulations regarding land use for cannabis cultivation could also assist developing supply chain dynamics,” Palandrani wrote.Analysts widely expect the bill to clear the House, but are more skeptical about its prospects in the Senate. In 2020, a similar bill passed the House but stalled in the upper chamber after failing to garner sufficient support. They are more optimistic that the Secure and Fair Enforcement Banking Act, or SAFE Act, passes later this year. The SAFE Act would prohibit federal banking regulators from penalizing banks that work with cannabis businesses legalized by states. The House passed the measure in February. But the SAFE Act would have a limited positive impact on cannabis operators, analysts said. For the most part, this would be the case after the latest clean energy industry announcements from the White House. Earlier today, President Joe Biden announced a 24-month tariff exemption for solar panels. Sure, the exemption would only account for panels from four Southeast Asian countries. However, seeing as this comes at a time when an investigation is currently freezing imports and stalled projects in the U.S., this would benefit solar firms.

Accordingly, such an upbeat declaration would have investors looking for the top solar stocks to buy now. Just last month, the company sold its utility-scale solar project development platform in Japan. This would be its solar operations and maintenance (O&M) platform in the region. Its DC-optimized inverter also seeks to maximize power generation while lowering the cost of energy produced at the same time. Its business also reaches a broad range of energy market segments like PV, storage, EV charging, and grid services solutions.

On May 25, 2022, the company announced that it has opened Sella 2, a two-gigawatt-hour battery cell and manufacturing facility. Located in the Eumseong Innovation City of Chungcheongbuk-Do, South Korea, Sella 2 is currently producing test cells for certification, with a ramp-up expected during the second half of 2022. Once it is fully operational, Sella 2 will allow the company to have its own supply of lithium-ion batteries and the infrastructure to develop new battery cell chemistries and technologies. Furthermore, the facility will be able to scale its battery cell capacity in the future to support the growing needs for storage solutions offered by the company.

In mid-May, the company announced the European launch of SolarEdge Home, a portfolio of home energy management products and solutions, at Intersolar 2022 in Munich. SolarEdge Chief Executive Officer, Zivi Lando, had this to say, "We developed a full system that enables both harvesting more energy from the sun and energy independence for homeowners. It also reported strong customer order trends that increased 39% year-over-year and a net addition of 29,463 customers in the quarter. Total revenue also increased to $495 million for the quarter, an upside of 48% year-over-year. The company says that it continues to see tremendous growth across its business, as it successfully implemented meaningful pricing changes to offset higher material and capital costs.

Sunrun has also installed over 37,000 solar and battery systems nationwide and offers homeowners the ability to power through multi-day outages with clean and reliable home energy. what he found helps to solidify the bull-case.“We noted broadening traction among government agencies, beyond Defense and into agencies like the Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Energy,” said the 5-star analyst. However, going by the $15.06 average price target, the stock is anticipated to climb 24% higher over the coming year.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":244,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9037278158,"gmtCreate":1648129517969,"gmtModify":1676534307371,"author":{"id":"3584526107526448","authorId":"3584526107526448","name":"Darrenearns","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/331a2c5d91e09f35ee2268904d1a1784","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3584526107526448","authorIdStr":"3584526107526448"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Lol k","listText":"Lol k","text":"Lol k","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9037278158","repostId":"1198974803","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1198974803","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1648129232,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1198974803?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-03-24 21:40","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Hot Chinese ADRs Tumbled in Morning Trading, with JD.com and Pinduoduo Falling Over 5%","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1198974803","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"Hot Chinese ADRs tumbled in morning trading, with JD.com and Pinduoduo falling over 5%.","content":"

Hot Chinese ADRs tumbled in morning trading, with JD.com and Pinduoduo falling over 5%.

","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; After a 20-for-1","content":"

Amazon. com’s stock has a very different price when it starts trading this morning. After a 20-for-1 split from Friday’s closing price of $2,447, the stock opens at around $122 each.

A high-price stock moves the index more than a low-price one, and a four-figure stock would wield outsize influence on the index. But that change won’t happen quickly. The last change to a Dow component was in 2020, when Amgen (AMGN), Honeywell (HON), and Salesforce (CRM) swapped in for Exxon Mobil (XOM), Pfizer (PFE), and Raytheon (RTX).

Amazon has split its stock four times since its initial public offering in 1997.
