Jushi Holdings
\n
Trading for less than $6 per share at the time of this writing, Jushi Holdings (OTC:JUSHF) is a small-cap company with serious long-term growth potential. The multistate cannabis operator owns a family of marijuana brands including Tasteology, Nira, and The Lab Concentrates. It also runs a chain of retail cannabis stores spread across Pennsylvania, Illinois, California, and Virginia.
\n
2020 was an extremely profitable, high-growth year for Jushi Holdings. It recorded a nearly 700% spike in revenue, and its gross profits surged by a mouthwatering 760%.
\n
Jushi Holdings reported a 30% increase in revenue during the first quarter of 2021. But the company's lightning-fast growth isn't hindering its ability to expand its cash position, as it closed the period with a robust $168 million in cash, cash equivalents, and short-term investments.
\n
The company is also quickly expanding its national presence. In the month of April alone, Jushi Holdings closed its acquisition of a group of marijuana cultivation, manufacturing, and distribution facilities in Nevada and announced more pending deals that are scheduled to close later this year. In Ohio, its purchase of OhiGrow will make Jushi Holdings the owner of one of just 34 licensed cultivators in the state -- a key medical marijuana market. And in Massachusetts, where cannabis is legal for both medical and recreational purposes, Jushi plans to acquire Nature's Remedy, owner of a cultivation and manufacturing facility as well as two retail dispensaries.
\n
As Jushi Holdings continues to grow its footprint in the coming years, its balance sheet and share price could also be considerably augmented. This is a great time to seize upon this premium pot stock's cheap share price to capitalize on its long-term potential.
\n
2. Pfizer
\n
Pfizer (NYSE:PFE) skyrocketed to rock-star status during the pandemic when BNT162b2 -- which it developed with its German partner, BioNTech -- became the first COVID-19 vaccine to earn emergency use authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Despite the massive success of BNT162b2, now being marketed as Comirnaty, not to mention a bulletproof portfolio of other lucrative products that have seen strong sales growth, Pfizer's shares still trade at less than $40.
\n
Pfizer's coronavirus vaccine is already having a decisive impact on its balance sheet. The company expects to bring in about $26 billion in revenue from Comirnaty in 2021 alone, and it just announced on May 7 that it was filing with the FDA for full approval of the vaccine for use by people 16 and older.
\n
During the first quarter of 2021, Pfizer reported astonishing revenue growth of 42% year over year. But it has plenty of other products beyond its coronavirus vaccine to rely on for future gains. Even when you factor BNT162b2 out of the picture, the company still reported excellent revenue growth of 8% from the prior-year period.
\n
In addition to coronavirus vaccine sales, Pfizer's robust top-line expansion during the first quarter was driven by consistent single- to double-digit percentage revenue increases across its core business segments. For example, sales in Pfizer's oncology, internal medicine, and rare disease segments shot up 16%, 10%, and 25%, respectively. Among its top-selling drugs, anticoagulant Eliquis, heart failure medications Vyndaqel and Vyndamax, and rheumatoid arthritis medication Xeljanz recorded sales gains of 25%, 88%, and 18%, respectively. Management is now forecasting full-year revenues in the range of $70.5 billion to $72.5 billion.
\n
Pfizer's also an attractive option for dividend-seeking investors. The stock yields a healthy 4% at the time of this writing. Moreover, it trades at a mere 20 times trailing earnings. The combination of Pfizer's affordable price tag and the appealing mixture of growth and value it offers investors makes this stock a no-brainer buy in any market environment.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Have $500? 2 Absurdly Cheap Stocks Long-Term Investors Should Buy Right Now
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nHave $500? 2 Absurdly Cheap Stocks Long-Term Investors Should Buy Right Now\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-01 10:14 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
There's no shame in hunting for bargains when it comes to stocks. The combination of Pfizer's affordable price tag and the appealing mixture of growth and value it offers investors makes this stock a no-brainer buy in any market environment.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":417,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":137561843,"gmtCreate":1622363720282,"gmtModify":1704183503527,"author":{"id":"3584954263002423","authorId":"3584954263002423","name":"JiaminFeng","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3584954263002423","idStr":"3584954263002423"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Agreed that consumer are uncertain for the next few months movement of the economy","listText":"Agreed that consumer are uncertain for the next few months movement of the economy","text":"Agreed that consumer are uncertain for the next few months movement of the economy","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/137561843","repostId":"2138306488","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2138306488","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Dow Jones publishes the world’s most trusted business news and financial information in a variety of media.","home_visible":0,"media_name":"Dow Jones","id":"106","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/150f88aa4d182df19190059f4a365e99"},"pubTimestamp":1622212920,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2138306488?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-05-28 22:42","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Consumers are feeling the pinch from higher inflation, U.S. sentiment survey shows, and they don't like it","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2138306488","media":"Dow Jones","summary":"The numbers: Rising inflation has cast a shadow over the U.S. economic recovery as Americans pay hig","content":"
The numbers: Rising inflation has cast a shadow over the U.S. economic recovery as Americans pay higher prices for a variety of goods and services ranging from steaks to used cars to plane tickets, according to a closely followed consumer survey.

The second and final reading of the consumer sentiment index edged up a tick to 82.9 from an initial 82.8, the University of Michigan said Friday. While the stock price increases have made Square an expensive stock, a growing competitive advantage the company is building on could help justify its expense.
\n
Just how overpriced is Square?
\n
By most measures, Square has become an expensive stock. It was boasting a P/E ratio of just over 305 at the time of this writing. The S&P 500's current P/E multiple of 45 pales in comparison, even though that index has reached multi-year highs. Square also trades far above archrival PayPal's (NASDAQ:PYPL) P/E ratio of 60.
\n
However, one reason Square has become expensive is its performance. Square's stock price has risen by 170% over the last year, compared with just over 70% gains for PayPal. Square's return increases to 430% when compared with the March 2020 low.
\n
SQ data by YCharts
\n
Still, recent financials appear to not justify such an earnings multiple. An accounting rule requiring the company to count the value of Bitcoin transactions as revenue skewed revenue figures. However, when not counting Bitcoin, revenue still rose 44% in the latest quarter from year-ago levels. Moreover, the $39 million profit came in much higher than the $106 million loss in the same quarter last year.
\n
Furthermore, the stock is in recovery mode since the pandemic brought falling profits in 2020. Revenue for 2020 still increased by 17% compared with fiscal 2019. Nonetheless, the company also experienced a 47% increase in operating expenses. Even with $292 million in income from non-core sources, net income fell to $213 million, a 43% reduction from last year's levels.
\n
Outside of increases in Cash App-related profit and operating expenses, Square did not publish forward guidance. Still, the predicted 167% increase in Cash App net income for the second quarter could comfort investors who paid the stock's current valuation.
\n
Also, before the pandemic, revenue increased 43% in fiscal 2019, and Square reported its first annual profit of $375 million that year. The 2019 revenue figure comes in near the revenue increase in Q1 2021, indicating pre-pandemic growth rates have returned. Additionally, such increases have led to a forward P/E of 145, a reduction that could ease the sting of Square's current valuation.
\n
Why investors should consider it despite the expense
\n
Despite recovering financials, Square may justify its expensive stock through a key competitive advantage: a more comprehensive finance ecosystem. Yes, PayPal reaches over 200 countries compared to Square's current five countries. PayPal also can manage most personal finance functions between PayPal and Venmo, which competes directly with Cash App.
\n
However, Square announced that it will soon open up to sellers in Ireland. Since this could easily take Square into the 18 other European Union countries that use the euro, investors should not discount Square's international aspirations.
\n
Moreover, PayPal does not offer the equivalent of Square Register or Square Payroll to handle business transactions and payroll, respectively. This means that only Square accommodates both individuals and businesses in its ecosystem.
\n
Furthermore, the most critical business-related function may pertain to its bank charter. As a bank, Square can make business loans without bringing in a third party. Additionally, according to Bloomberg, Square will soon offer business and checking accounts, meaning businesses that want to fully embrace fintech no longer need a traditional bank. That could spell further trouble for banks if Square starts offering these services to individuals.
\n
From the stockholder's perspective, this move could also lead to charges that Square will \"take over finance.\" That fear stands little chance of becoming reality, and investors should expect some banks to adapt and survive. Nonetheless, the perception could stoke investor interest in Square that comes at the expense of banks.
\n
Where Square stands
\n
Indeed, Square's current earnings multiple can undoubtedly put off investors. However, with its Cash App driving triple-digit percentage income growth and its growing finance ecosystem, it appears poised to bring profound change to its industry. As conditions stand now, it could easily win business from traditional banks and bring massive transformation to the industry. As it adds customers and expands to more countries, today's stock price may not appear expensive for long.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Why Square's Stock Is So Expensive
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nWhy Square's Stock Is So Expensive\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-05-28 19:55 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
More than a year out now from the start of the pandemic, Square's (NYSE:SQ) investors have prospered, benefitting from the accelerated digitization of retail, the renewed popularity of Bitcoin, and a ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{},"source_url":"https://www.fool.com/investing/2021/05/28/why-squares-stock-is-so-expensive/","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"2138710402","content_text":"More than a year out now from the start of the pandemic, Square's (NYSE:SQ) investors have prospered, benefitting from the accelerated digitization of retail, the renewed popularity of Bitcoin, and a relatively quick recovery in the fintech sector after the March 2020 sell-off. For semiconductor manufacturing equipment providers like Applied Materials (NASDAQ:AMAT), it's a good time to be in business. Chip fabricators are scrambling to keep up with orders and are trying to expand their production, which means strong demand for equipment. In fact, Applied Materials just posted record quarterly sales and signaled growth will continue at a torrid pace this year -- and could stay strong well beyond 2021. Here's why.

1. \"Just-in-time\" supply failed during the pandemic

As with all businesses related to manufacturing, managing supply of basic commodities is of utmost concern. While circuitry is a basic commodity used in the manufacture of all sorts of devices these days, it isn't exactly a cheap product to keep large inventories of. On the contrary, some high-end chips are quite expensive.

To manage costs, many companies keep only a short supply of chips they need on hand, and the chip fabrication industry has adapted to this \"just-in-time\" strategy. It's worked well, at least up until the pandemic. Factories around the globe have been shuttered at times due to the pandemic, and chip customers opted to work with the limited inventory they had last year to manage cash flow. But the sudden resurgence in demand for tech hardware means there's now a shortfall in supply in some sectors of the economy (like autos and some consumer electronics).

On the Q2 fiscal 2021 earnings call (for the three months ended May 2, 2021), Applied Materials CEO Gary Dickerson said that \"the highly efficient, just-in-time supply chains that have served the semiconductor industry well for the past two decades may not be the most effective strategy going forward.\" Fabs and their customers are now looking to expand production to create a more flexible supply chain. The result? More chip fab equipment will be needed, which plays right into the company's hands.

2. A push to increase regional manufacturing

Similar to the above initiative to increase chip production capacity, Dickerson also alluded to a global competition for more localized manufacturing. Semiconductor fabrication is a complex process, with the most advanced systems taking hundreds of steps to build. As a result, chip manufacturing hubs have been created that specialize in the process. Taiwan Semiconductor (NYSE:TSM) is the largest player here, with the bulk of its operations located in Taiwan.

But various countries (most notably the world's two largest economies, the U.S. and China) are pushing for more localized production to more directly supply their silicon-hungry consumers. For example, Taiwan Semiconductor is expanding its facilities in Arizona, and rival Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) is planning an additional two in the state. Similar initiatives supported by government agencies are underway elsewhere.

For Applied Materials, this is great news. Constructing new facilities like this takes years, which will help underpin its recent surge in sales for the foreseeable future. In Q2 fiscal 2021, revenue was up 41% from a year ago to $5.58 billion. Free cash flow was up 74% to $983 million. The outlook for Q3 is even better. Revenue is expected to be $5.92 billion at the midpoint of guidance (up 6% sequentially and up 35% year over year). Given the big expected jump in sales and profits this year, shares look like a reasonable long-term value at 28 times trailing-12-month free cash flow.

3. Secular change in technology

Longer term, Applied Materials is benefiting from more than just a global chip shortage and government interest in boosting localized manufacturing. Technology itself is evolving. According to Dickerson on the earnings call:

Digital transformation is driving exponential growth in data generation, which leads to the second major inflection, AI computing. New computing approaches are needed to create value from these massive volumes of data. AI computing works best with workload-specific software and hardware built from customized and entirely new types of silicon.

New types of chips designed for AI and other custom-built applications are putting new stress on the semiconductor industry. Chip fabs are purchasing new equipment to keep up with new demands for customized circuitry, but again this is a process that takes time -- in this case, perhaps a decade of rapid adoption of AI and related business processes. Demand for the fab equipment that Applied Materials supplies will ebb and flow along with manufacturing, but sales are expected to continue averaging up over time, just as they have over the last couple of decades.

Data by YCharts.

Applied Materials stock is flying high right now, up over 130% through the last 12 months.

In Ohio, its purchase of OhiGrow will make Jushi Holdings the owner of one of just 34 licensed cultivators in the state -- a key medical marijuana market. And in Massachusetts, where cannabis is legal for both medical and recreational purposes, Jushi plans to acquire Nature's Remedy, owner of a cultivation and manufacturing facility as well as two retail dispensaries.\nAs Jushi Holdings continues to grow its footprint in the coming years, its balance sheet and share price could also be considerably augmented. This is a great time to seize upon this premium pot stock's cheap share price to capitalize on its long-term potential.\n2. Pfizer\nPfizer (NYSE:PFE) skyrocketed to rock-star status during the pandemic when BNT162b2 -- which it developed with its German partner, BioNTech -- became the first COVID-19 vaccine to earn emergency use authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Despite the massive success of BNT162b2, now being marketed as Comirnaty, not to mention a bulletproof portfolio of other lucrative products that have seen strong sales growth, Pfizer's shares still trade at less than $40.\nPfizer's coronavirus vaccine is already having a decisive impact on its balance sheet. The company expects to bring in about $26 billion in revenue from Comirnaty in 2021 alone, and it just announced on May 7 that it was filing with the FDA for full approval of the vaccine for use by people 16 and older.\nDuring the first quarter of 2021, Pfizer reported astonishing revenue growth of 42% year over year. But it has plenty of other products beyond its coronavirus vaccine to rely on for future gains. Even when you factor BNT162b2 out of the picture, the company still reported excellent revenue growth of 8% from the prior-year period.\nIn addition to coronavirus vaccine sales, Pfizer's robust top-line expansion during the first quarter was driven by consistent single- to double-digit percentage revenue increases across its core business segments. Management is now forecasting full-year revenues in the range of $70.5 billion to $72.5 billion.\nPfizer's also an attractive option for dividend-seeking investors. The stock yields a healthy 4% at the time of this writing. Moreover, it trades at a mere 20 times trailing earnings. The combination of Pfizer's affordable price tag and the appealing mixture of growth and value it offers investors makes this stock a no-brainer buy in any market environment.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":417,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":137561843,"gmtCreate":1622363720282,"gmtModify":1704183503527,"author":{"id":"3584954263002423","authorId":"3584954263002423","name":"JiaminFeng","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3584954263002423","authorIdStr":"3584954263002423"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Agreed that consumer are uncertain for the next few months movement of the economy","listText":"Agreed that consumer are uncertain for the next few months movement of the economy","text":"Agreed that consumer are uncertain for the next few months movement of the economy","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/137561843","repostId":"2138306488","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2138306488","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Dow Jones publishes the world’s most trusted business news and financial information in a variety of media.","home_visible":0,"media_name":"Dow Jones","id":"106","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/150f88aa4d182df19190059f4a365e99"},"pubTimestamp":1622212920,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2138306488?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-05-28 22:42","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Consumers are feeling the pinch from higher inflation, U.S. sentiment survey shows, and they don't like it","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2138306488","media":"Dow Jones","summary":"The numbers: Rising inflation has cast a shadow over the U.S. economic recovery as Americans pay hig","content":"

Even with $292 million in income from non-core sources, net income fell to $213 million, a 43% reduction from last year's levels.\nOutside of increases in Cash App-related profit and operating expenses, Square did not publish forward guidance. Still, the predicted 167% increase in Cash App net income for the second quarter could comfort investors who paid the stock's current valuation.\nAlso, before the pandemic, revenue increased 43% in fiscal 2019, and Square reported its first annual profit of $375 million that year. The 2019 revenue figure comes in near the revenue increase in Q1 2021, indicating pre-pandemic growth rates have returned. Additionally, such increases have led to a forward P/E of 145, a reduction that could ease the sting of Square's current valuation.\nWhy investors should consider it despite the expense\nDespite recovering financials, Square may justify its expensive stock through a key competitive advantage: a more comprehensive finance ecosystem. Yes, PayPal reaches over 200 countries compared to Square's current five countries. PayPal also can manage most personal finance functions between PayPal and Venmo, which competes directly with Cash App.\nHowever, Square announced that it will soon open up to sellers in Ireland. Since this could easily take Square into the 18 other European Union countries that use the euro, investors should not discount Square's international aspirations.\nMoreover, PayPal does not offer the equivalent of Square Register or Square Payroll to handle business transactions and payroll, respectively. This means that only Square accommodates both individuals and businesses in its ecosystem.\nFurthermore, the most critical business-related function may pertain to its bank charter. As a bank, Square can make business loans without bringing in a third party. Additionally, according to Bloomberg, Square will soon offer business and checking accounts, meaning businesses that want to fully embrace fintech no longer need a traditional bank. That could spell further trouble for banks if Square starts offering these services to individuals.\nFrom the stockholder's perspective, this move could also lead to charges that Square will \"take over finance.\" That fear stands little chance of becoming reality, and investors should expect some banks to adapt and survive. Nonetheless, the perception could stoke investor interest in Square that comes at the expense of banks.\nWhere Square stands\nIndeed, Square's current earnings multiple can undoubtedly put off investors. However, with its Cash App driving triple-digit percentage income growth and its growing finance ecosystem, it appears poised to bring profound change to its industry. As conditions stand now, it could easily win business from traditional banks and bring massive transformation to the industry. As it adds customers and expands to more countries, today's stock price may not appear expensive for long.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":298,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":135744355,"gmtCreate":1622188821777,"gmtModify":1704181134162,"author":{"id":"3584954263002423","authorId":"3584954263002423","name":"JiaminFeng","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3584954263002423","authorIdStr":"3584954263002423"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Good time to buy","listText":"Good time to buy","text":"Good time to buy","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/135744355","repostId":"1148985369","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":409,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":135479136,"gmtCreate":1622179959725,"gmtModify":1704181001041,"author":{"id":"3584954263002423","authorId":"3584954263002423","name":"JiaminFeng","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3584954263002423","authorIdStr":"3584954263002423"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Room to boom","listText":"Room to boom","text":"Room to boom","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/135479136","repostId":"1148985369","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":495,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":135231658,"gmtCreate":1622164515674,"gmtModify":1704180631719,"author":{"id":"3584954263002423","authorId":"3584954263002423","name":"JiaminFeng","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3584954263002423","authorIdStr":"3584954263002423"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Good buy ","listText":"Good buy ","text":"Good buy","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/135231658","repostId":"2138817946","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2138817946","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Dow Jones publishes the world’s most trusted business news and financial information in a variety of media.","home_visible":0,"media_name":"Dow Jones","id":"106","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/150f88aa4d182df19190059f4a365e99"},"pubTimestamp":1622149200,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2138817946?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-05-28 05:00","market":"hk","language":"en","title":"Costco misses quarterly estimates as online sales ease","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2138817946","media":"Dow Jones","summary":"Costco Wholesale Corp. late Thursday reported lower-than-expected profit and sales for its fiscal th","content":"
Costco Wholesale Corp. late Thursday reported lower-than-expected profit and sales for its fiscal third quarter as online sales growth eased.

Costco $(COST)$ said it earned $1.22 billion, or $2.75 a share, in the quarter, compared with $838 million, or $1.89 a share, in the year-ago quarter.

Net sales for the quarter increased 22% to $44.4 billion, from $36.45 billion a year ago.

Analysts polled by FactSet had expected the retailer to report a GAAP profit of $2.32 a share on sales of $44.7 billion.

Same-store sales rose 21%, and online sales rose 41%, the company said.
