Fool","summary":"Get ready to buy Snowflake and two other hot tech stocks if this frothy market collapses.","content":"
Many high-growth tech stocks have seen price pullbacks over the past few months, due to concerns about higher bond yields, inflation, and decelerating growth for companies that benefited from the pandemic.
\n
That sell-off created some buying opportunities -- but some of the sector's pricier names merely pulled back slightly, held onto their gains, or even rallied. That relative strength is admirable, but it's a bit frustrating for investors who don't want to pay the wrong price for the right company.
\n
That's why I'm making a shopping list of expensive tech stocks which I'd eagerly buy during the next market crash. Let's take a look at three of those companies:Snowflake(NYSE:SNOW),Twilio(NYSE:TWLO), and CrowdStrike(NASDAQ:CRWD).
\n
\n
1. Snowflake
\n
Snowflake was one of the hottest tech IPOs of 2020, thanks to its jaw-dropping growth rates and big investments from Berkshire Hathaway and salesforce.com.
\n
Snowflake'scloud-baseddata warehouse pulls all of a company's data onto a single platform, where it can then be fed into third-party data visualization apps. Its service breaks down the silos between different departments and computing platforms, which makes it easier for large companies to make data-driven decisions.
\n
Snowflake's number of customers jumped 73% to 4,139 in fiscal 2021 (which ended this January), including 186 of the Fortune 500 companies. Its revenue surged 124% to $592 million, as its net retention rate -- which gauges its year-over-year revenue growth per existing customer -- hit 165%.
\n
That growth continued in the first quarter of 2022. Its revenue rose 110% year over year to $228.9 million, its number of customers increased 67% to 4,532, and it achieved a net retention rate of 168%.
\n
But Snowflake isn't profitable yet. ItsGAAPnet loss widened from $348.5 million in fiscal 2020 to $539.1 million in fiscal 2021, andmore than doubledfrom $93.6 million to $203.2 million in the first quarter of 2022. It's also unprofitable on a non-GAAP basis, which excludes its stock-based compensation expenses.
\n
Analysts expect Snowflake's revenue to rise 88% this year, with a narrower loss. However, its stock still trades at 65 times this year's sales -- which indicates there's still far too much growth baked into the stock. But if Snowflake gets cut in half in a crash, I'd considerstarting a big position.
\n
2. Twilio
\n
Twilio's cloud platform processes text messages, calls, and videos within apps. For example, it helps Lyft's passengers contact their drivers, and Airbnb's guests reach their hosts.
\n
In the past, developers built those tools from scratch, which was generally time-consuming, buggy, and difficult to scale. However, developers can now outsource those features to Twilio's cloud service by simply adding a few lines of code to their apps.
\n
Twilio's revenue rose 55% to $1.76 billion in 2020. Its net expansion rate, which is comparable to Snowflake's net retention rate, reached 137%. In the first quarter of 2021, its revenue jumped 62% year over year to $590 million as it integrated its recent purchase of the customer data firm Segment.
\n
Twilio remains unprofitable on a GAAP basis, but its non-GAAP net income rose 62% to $35.9 million in 2020. In the first quarter of 2021, its non-GAAP net income rose another 15% to $9.6 million.
\n
Analysts expect its revenue to rise 44% this year, but for its non-GAAP earnings to dip into the red again amid higher investments and rising A2P (application-to-person) fees, which are now charged by carriers whenever an app accesses an SMS network.
\n
That near-term outlook doesn't look great for a stock that trades at nearly 30 times this year's sales. However, I still think Twilio has great growth potential, and I'd definitely buy its stock at a lower price.
\n
3. CrowdStrike
\n
CrowdStrike is a cybersecurity company that differs from its industry peers in one major way. Most cybersecurity companies install on-site appliances to support their services, which can be expensive to maintain and difficult to scale as an organization expands. CrowdStrike eliminates those appliances by offering its end-to-end security platform as a cloud-based service.
\n
CrowdStrike's growth clearly reflects its disruptive potential. Its revenue rose 82% to $874.4 million in fiscal 2021 (which ended this January), its number of subscription customers increased 82% to 9,896, and its net retention rate stayed above 120%.
\n
In the first quarter of fiscal 2022, its revenue rose 70% year over year to $302.8 million, its subscriber base expanded 82% year over year to 11,420, and it kept its retention rate above 120%.
\n
CrowdStrike also turned profitable on a non-GAAP basis in 2021, with a net profit of $62.6 million. Its non-GAAP net income rose more than fivefold year over year to $23.3 million in the first quarter of 2022.
\n
Those numbers are impressive, but CrowdStrike still trades at about 350 times forward earnings and more than 40 times this year's sales. Therefore, this is another stock I won't buy unless the market crashes.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
3 Expensive Tech Stocks to Buy in the Next Market Crash
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n3 Expensive Tech Stocks to Buy in the Next Market Crash\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-07-01 21:28 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Many high-growth tech stocks have seen price pullbacks over the past few months, due to concerns about higher bond yields, inflation, and decelerating growth for companies that benefited from the ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"CRWD":"CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc.","SNOW":"Snowflake","TWLO":"Twilio Inc"},"source_url":"https://www.fool.com/investing/2021/07/01/expensive-tech-stocks-to-buy-in-next-market-crash/","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1199212665","content_text":"Many high-growth tech stocks have seen price pullbacks over the past few months, due to concerns about higher bond yields, inflation, and decelerating growth for companies that benefited from the pandemic.\nThat sell-off created some buying opportunities -- but some of the sector's pricier names merely pulled back slightly, held onto their gains, or even rallied. The S&P 500 registered its second-best first-half performance since 1998, rising 14.5%.
\n
“It’s been a good quarter,” said Robert Pavlik, senior portfolio manager at Dakota Wealth in Fairfield, Connecticut. “As of last night’s close, the S&P has gained more than 14% year-to-date, topping the Dow and the Nasdaq. A lot of these tech names have underperformed, while fundamentals were very robust going into the June quarter,” said Wedbush Securities analyst Daniel Ives, who expects the Nasdaq to hit 16,000 by year-end.\nFacebook jumped over 4% as a U.S. judge granted the company’s motion to dismiss a Federal Trade Commission lawsuit. The social media giant finished Monday with over $1 trillion in market capitalization.\nOn the Nasdaq 100, the largest gainer was Nvidia Corp, which rose 5.0% after major chip makers Broadcom Inc, Marvell and Taiwan-based MediaTek endorsed its $40 billion deal to buy UK chip designer Arm.\nWith the S&P 500 up almost 14% as the first half of 2021 draws to a close, activity in some areas of the market indicates concern over potential volatility, with some investors suggesting the market may be overdue for a significant pullback.\nOn the economic front, investor attention will be focused on consumer confidence data, a private jobs report and a crucial monthly employment report due later this week. Quarterly results from Micron Technology Inc and Walgreens Boots Alliance are also slated for this week.\nDeclining issues outnumbered advancing ones on the NYSE by a 1.38-to-1 ratio; on Nasdaq, a 1.09-to-1 ratio favored decliners.\nThe S&P 500 posted 36 new 52-week highs and no new lows; the Nasdaq Composite recorded 100 new highs and 31 new lows.\nVolume on U.S. exchanges was 9.55 billion shares, compared with the 11.17 billion average for the full session over the last 20 trading days.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":199,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":122232773,"gmtCreate":1624622096492,"gmtModify":1703841927920,"author":{"id":"3586426636347454","authorId":"3586426636347454","name":"Josh92","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3586426636347454","authorIdStr":"3586426636347454"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Too early to say, pls like !!","listText":"Too early to say, pls like !!","text":"Too early to say, pls like !!","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/122232773","repostId":"1116076888","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1116076888","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1624612129,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1116076888?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-25 17:08","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Why Tesla stock is getting left in Ford's and GM's dust","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1116076888","media":"cnn","summary":"New York Tesla had a stellar 2020: The electric car maker was added to the S&P 500 and the stock surged an electrifying 743%. They have a much better balance sheet, they’re trading at a higher multiple, but they’re growing a little bit faster, albeit still in the high single digits,” he said.\nMicrosoft is expected to report 16% sales growth in fiscal 2021 ending June, while profit is forecast to rise to $7.77 a share from $5.76 a share in fiscal 2020, according to FactSet estimates. The company trades at 32 times forward earnings.\n\"I think the trade here is Apple. Apple is still a little bit off highs, and again, it's trading at a fairly high multiple, it's pretty rich, but doesn't have as good a balance sheet — but I think the trade here is Apple to new highs,\" said Tatro.\nApple is one of the few FAANG stocks, alongsideNetflix, that has not hit new highs since January. It is still 8% off its record.\nJ.C. O'Hara, chief market technician at MKM Partners, agreed with Tatro that it is difficult to choose between the two. Microsoft, he said, looks likely to continue to outperform given its bullish technical setup including a rising 200-day moving average and fresh highs set as recently as Wednesday.\n\"The short-term momentum definitely favors Microsoft,\" O'Hara said during the same interview.\nApple, meanwhile, might have room for even greater upside after its underperformance relative to the rest of the technology sector and the broader market.\n\"If we're in a bull market and the hallmark of this overall bull market is rotation, I believe Apple is setting up here for a nice catch-up trade. It has lost more than 50 per cent from its mid-April high of almost US$65,000.\nThe coin started 2021 trading around US$29,000 following a fourfold increase last year.\nSuch trading signals \"that Bitcoin traders could find themselves in choppy waters for weeks to come\", said Mr Sean Rooney, head of research at crypto asset manager Valkyrie Investments.\nChart-watchers said Bitcoin, which failed to retake US$40,000 last week, could have a tough time finding support in the US$20,000 range following its drop below US$30,000. Still, Bitcoin had prior to Tuesday breached US$30,000 during at least five separate instances this year but recuperated to trade above that level each time.\n\"Any meaningful break below US$30,000 is going to make a lot of momentum players to throw in the towel,\" said Mr Matt Maley, chief market strategist for Miller Tabak + Co. \"Therefore, even if Bitcoin is going to change the world over the long term, it does not mean it cannot fall back into the teens over the short term.\"\nIt is a remarkable comedown for the digital asset which just weeks ago was trekking higher amid a warmer embrace from Wall Street as well as retail investors. Using basic fundamentals, an investor doesn’t need to look any further than the following data to conclude that it is best to stay away. Operating income generation is historically less than interest payments as shown below.
\n

\n
Source: company data
\n
It does not take rocket science to surmise that this is a very capital intensive company in the dynamically changing world of entertainment that is saddled with debt and a fairly clear path to bankruptcy under complacent strategic focus. In fact, my article,Cinemark Improves Liquidity And The Moviegoer Experience, published on December 2, 2020 took a bullish stance as Cinemark (CNK) had a clear liquidity advantage as well as a front running position in providing an enhanced consumer experience. Although Cinemark still has competitive advantages over rival AMC, tables are turning rapidly.
\n
The magical lamp
\n
It should be obvious to everyone on the planet that Adam Aron, CEO of AMC must have stumbled upon the magical genie lamp, most likely buried in the boxes of movie props from Aladdin. Imagine Aron’s surprise when he realized the prop actually contained the powerful genie. With three wishes at his fingertips, the pursuit to save AMC promptly ensued.
\n
Wish 1: end the pandemic
\n
The obvious first wish, ending the pandemic to allow people to return to some normalcy may have been somewhat selfishly aimed at getting theaters filled, but in reality, we all would have made that the first wish as well. It still may take some time to get everyone back on board with enough confidence to fill the seats. If the images from the first full capacity Bruins game on Saturday May 29 are any indicator, most are ready.
\n

\n
Source: Author
\n
Wish 2: liquidity
\n
By the humorous way the second wish was granted, it is apparent that Adam Aron stumbled upon the lamp containing the greatest genie of all time. There’s only one genie that could creatively and comically have millions of apes descend onto the movie scene chanting the ‘Save AMC’ mantra. As the 6 month market cap chart below shows, the mega big screen and comedic spirit infused genie isn’t only hilarious but effective too. The ape driven liquidity improvements are buying AMC the much needed capital for survival and future growth.
\n

\n
Source:SA Charts
\n
Surely there aren’t enough words or tweets that Adam Aron can express for the gratitude he owes to the diamond handed WSB AMC apes. With a wink to the heavens, the Investor Connect program as texted by Aron is a nice gesture of gratitude and should prove to be well received by the truly diamond handed.
\n

\n
Source: Twitter
\n
The second wish to repair liquidity is still in the mid-grant stage and by no means over or even a foregone conclusion as many battles are ongoing across multiple fronts.
\n
First and foremost, the psychological internal battle that every investor deals with, never truly knowing when to buy or sell, is the largest risk to share price. The more a stock becomes disjointed with the fundamental realities, the greater the struggle. Investors internally debate, rationalize and self-negotiate with the following unknown questions:
\n
\n
Is a double, triple or a ten bagger enough?
\n
Should I take short term profits on all or some?
\n
Momentum seems strong, should I buy more at these levels in hopes to ride it higher?
\n
Should I just keep it on the table for the long term?
\n
Who will blink first?
\n
\n
These psychological effects normally follow a scripted playbook that technical analysts can normally rely on. However, meme stocks are not normal by any stretch as witnessed by the extreme emotional back and forth battle between sellers and buyers. Sellers will be hanging on for dear life as they attempt to remain solvent as they wait out the inevitable selling frenzy. Buyers will attempt to hang on for as long as possible in hopes to inflict as much pain on the sellers as possible, also keeping an eye on solvency.
\n
Objectively and mathematically speaking, bulls will always have an inherent advantage. Downward losses in any equity is finite while upward gains in any given equity is infinite. It really does come down to supply and demand. Bears rely on poor management, a failing business model and most importantly the unwillingness of bulls to fund failure.
\n
AMC was given a great gift and they have capitalized through much needed dilution. Adam Aron and the AMC team must be extremely diligent not to go all paper-handed. The delicate balancing act on the head of the pin with respect to over diluting could most certainly trigger a selloff of epic proportions. The paper-hand temptations exist everywhere and the bears know it and rely on it. That is why the fundamentals do matter a lot and must be drastically and positively changed and in a hurry.
\n
Now that millions of apes have put a band aid on AMC, it is imperative for Aron to put forth a winning strategic business plan leading into any further dilution. Dilution for debt recovery alone won't do enough. Dilution for growth and earnings is the only viable solution.
\n
The final wish
\n
So we all know what Adam Aron’s first two wishes were. One to end the pandemic and the other to band aid liquidity issues, which both were granted. Now here we are waiting to see what the third wish will be. The third wish needs to be innovative, forward thinking, large scale and most importantly deliver explosive ever-increasing profitable growth. Adam Aron better be thinking in comparative scale of what Steve Jobs brought to the table for Apple when he re-took the helm in 1997.
\n
Of course, AMC can take the windfall for what it is to restructure debt while plodding along the same narrow path of falling revenues and increasing operating costs, which will certainly buy some time. However, debt reduction and restructuring should not be investors' primary concern. Investors must be looking for AMC to use the next capital raise for fundamental change that profitably taps into the enormous entertainment market.
\n
With these gifts that have magically appeared seemingly from thin air, AMC has this one opportunity to redefine itself. AMC can take a multitude of directions to put big smiles on the apes funding this defining moment. Here are a few off-the-cuff thoughts that could be game changing as examples of where this investor's mind is as far as scale.
\n
Build upon the early successes of the private theater rental program.
\n
\n
Reduce the number of large capacity screening rooms for more creatively designed rooms that can accommodate smaller gatherings.
\n
Utilize these rooms for other events beyond movies such as the big sports game, video gaming play / tournaments and special early viewings of exclusive streamed content.
\n
Add onsite or online betting for the sporting events.
\n
\n
A game-changing acquisition, merger or partnerships to capture a broader market presence.
\n
\n
A few more ape dollars in share price could allow for an offering to Cinemark shareholders that could easily absorb their $2.8B market cap. The combined force would help level the playing field with the vertical influences within the entertainment industry.
\n
A synergistic shared real estate partnership with WSB perennial favorite GameStop (GME) as theaters share commonality for both movie watching and video game-play.
\n
\n
Although creating scenarios and narratives are fun and are a big part of my strategy when looking for coal with diamond possibilities, investor must not get buried in whimsical ideals and ignore realities. AMC leadership will determine if this meme gift will be game changing for investors or will just merely be a cash grab for executives and insiders.
\n
Conclusion
\n
My bullish stance is completely predicated on the opportunity that this 'Save AMC' effort is giving AMC. The next moves by Adam Aron and AMC will certainly be a driving force in determining whether or not my hands are made of diamonds or of paper. Reopening theaters and going back to the dismal mode of operation that existed pre-COVID alone will not suffice. In fact, if that is the plan, sellers should hang on for the round-trip in share price.
\n
Of course, like everyone, the internal struggles that force buying and selling are always present. For now, I remain cautiously optimistic, AMC led by Adam Aron will lean diamond while putting forth a big effort for the ages. The first sign of AMC weakness in strategic vision will send this shareholder to the theater's exit. The pressure is on AMC to turn their hands of coal into diamond. There's a community of apes relying on it.
","source":"seekingalpha","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
AMC Entertainment: Embracing The Absurd
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nAMC Entertainment: Embracing The Absurd\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-11 21:06 GMT+8 seekingalpha\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Summary\n\nI am cautiously bullish even with AMC severely overvalued.\nAMC was granted two gifts so far, the ending of the pandemic and millions of apes descending onto the scene.\nAdam Aron and the AMC ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"AMC":"AMC院线"},"source_url":"https://seekingalpha.com/article/4434292-amc-embracing-the-absurd","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/5a36db9d73b4222bc376d24ccc48c8a4","article_id":"1189985902","content_text":"Summary\n\nI am cautiously bullish even with AMC severely overvalued.\nAMC was granted two gifts so far, the ending of the pandemic and millions of apes descending onto the scene.\nAdam Aron and the AMC team must be thinking creatively for ultimate survival.\n\nDeep breath and exhale - I can’t believe I am about to do this. Although Cinemark still has competitive advantages over rival AMC, tables are turning rapidly.\nThe magical lamp\nIt should be obvious to everyone on the planet that Adam Aron, CEO of AMC must have stumbled upon the magical genie lamp, most likely buried in the boxes of movie props from Aladdin. Imagine Aron’s surprise when he realized the prop actually contained the powerful genie. With three wishes at his fingertips, the pursuit to save AMC promptly ensued.\nWish 1: end the pandemic\nThe obvious first wish, ending the pandemic to allow people to return to some normalcy may have been somewhat selfishly aimed at getting theaters filled, but in reality, we all would have made that the first wish as well. It still may take some time to get everyone back on board with enough confidence to fill the seats. If the images from the first full capacity Bruins game on Saturday May 29 are any indicator, most are ready.\n\nSource: Author\nWish 2: liquidity\nBy the humorous way the second wish was granted, it is apparent that Adam Aron stumbled upon the lamp containing the greatest genie of all time. There’s only one genie that could creatively and comically have millions of apes descend onto the movie scene chanting the ‘Save AMC’ mantra. As the 6 month market cap chart below shows, the mega big screen and comedic spirit infused genie isn’t only hilarious but effective too. The ape driven liquidity improvements are buying AMC the much needed capital for survival and future growth.\n\nSource:SA Charts\nSurely there aren’t enough words or tweets that Adam Aron can express for the gratitude he owes to the diamond handed WSB AMC apes. With a wink to the heavens, the Investor Connect program as texted by Aron is a nice gesture of gratitude and should prove to be well received by the truly diamond handed.\n\nSource: Twitter\nThe second wish to repair liquidity is still in the mid-grant stage and by no means over or even a foregone conclusion as many battles are ongoing across multiple fronts.\nFirst and foremost, the psychological internal battle that every investor deals with, never truly knowing when to buy or sell, is the largest risk to share price. The more a stock becomes disjointed with the fundamental realities, the greater the struggle. Investors internally debate, rationalize and self-negotiate with the following unknown questions:\n\nIs a double, triple or a ten bagger enough?\nShould I take short term profits on all or some?\nMomentum seems strong, should I buy more at these levels in hopes to ride it higher?\nShould I just keep it on the table for the long term?\nWho will blink first?\n\nThese psychological effects normally follow a scripted playbook that technical analysts can normally rely on. However, meme stocks are not normal by any stretch as witnessed by the extreme emotional back and forth battle between sellers and buyers. Sellers will be hanging on for dear life as they attempt to remain solvent as they wait out the inevitable selling frenzy. Buyers will attempt to hang on for as long as possible in hopes to inflict as much pain on the sellers as possible, also keeping an eye on solvency.\nObjectively and mathematically speaking, bulls will always have an inherent advantage. Downward losses in any equity is finite while upward gains in any given equity is infinite. It really does come down to supply and demand. Bears rely on poor management, a failing business model and most importantly the unwillingness of bulls to fund failure.\nAMC was given a great gift and they have capitalized through much needed dilution. That is why the fundamentals do matter a lot and must be drastically and positively changed and in a hurry.\nNow that millions of apes have put a band aid on AMC, it is imperative for Aron to put forth a winning strategic business plan leading into any further dilution. Dilution for debt recovery alone won't do enough. Dilution for growth and earnings is the only viable solution.\nThe final wish\nSo we all know what Adam Aron’s first two wishes were. One to end the pandemic and the other to band aid liquidity issues, which both were granted. Now here we are waiting to see what the third wish will be. The third wish needs to be innovative, forward thinking, large scale and most importantly deliver explosive ever-increasing profitable growth. Adam Aron better be thinking in comparative scale of what Steve Jobs brought to the table for Apple when he re-took the helm in 1997.\nOf course, AMC can take the windfall for what it is to restructure debt while plodding along the same narrow path of falling revenues and increasing operating costs, which will certainly buy some time. However, debt reduction and restructuring should not be investors' primary concern. Investors must be looking for AMC to use the next capital raise for fundamental change that profitably taps into the enormous entertainment market.\nWith these gifts that have magically appeared seemingly from thin air, AMC has this one opportunity to redefine itself. AMC can take a multitude of directions to put big smiles on the apes funding this defining moment. Here are a few off-the-cuff thoughts that could be game changing as examples of where this investor's mind is as far as scale.\nBuild upon the early successes of the private theater rental program.\n\nReduce the number of large capacity screening rooms for more creatively designed rooms that can accommodate smaller gatherings.\nUtilize these rooms for other events beyond movies such as the big sports game, video gaming play / tournaments and special early viewings of exclusive streamed content.\nAdd onsite or online betting for the sporting events.\n\nA game-changing acquisition, merger or partnerships to capture a broader market presence.\n\nA few more ape dollars in share price could allow for an offering to Cinemark shareholders that could easily absorb their $2.8B market cap. The combined force would help level the playing field with the vertical influences within the entertainment industry.\nA synergistic shared real estate partnership with WSB perennial favorite GameStop (GME) as theaters share commonality for both movie watching and video game-play.\n\nAlthough creating scenarios and narratives are fun and are a big part of my strategy when looking for coal with diamond possibilities, investor must not get buried in whimsical ideals and ignore realities. AMC leadership will determine if this meme gift will be game changing for investors or will just merely be a cash grab for executives and insiders.\nConclusion\nMy bullish stance is completely predicated on the opportunity that this 'Save AMC' effort is giving AMC. The next moves by Adam Aron and AMC will certainly be a driving force in determining whether or not my hands are made of diamonds or of paper. Reopening theaters and going back to the dismal mode of operation that existed pre-COVID alone will not suffice. In fact, if that is the plan, sellers should hang on for the round-trip in share price.\nOf course, like everyone, the internal struggles that force buying and selling are always present. There's a community of apes relying on it.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":128,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":188637474,"gmtCreate":1623431551898,"gmtModify":1704203678373,"author":{"id":"3586426636347454","authorId":"3586426636347454","name":"Josh92","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3586426636347454","authorIdStr":"3586426636347454"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Boom","listText":"Boom","text":"Boom","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/188637474","repostId":"1146386859","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1146386859","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1623417074,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1146386859?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-11 21:11","market":"us","language":"en","title":"NIO: Buy This Chinese EV Manufacturer While It's Still Cheap","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1146386859","media":"seekingalpha","summary":"NIO is a dominant EV manufacturer in the electric SUV segment in China.Despite competing in the luxurious SUV segment, its cars are more affordable in comparison to the cars of its peers such as Tesla. As the Chinese EV market will continue to aggressively expand in the upcoming years, we believe that NIO has all the chances to create additional shareholder value in the future.Founded in 2014, NIO is an electric vehicle manufacturer that's headquartered in Shanghai, China. It has been constantly increasing its deliveries every quarter, its revenues have been growing at a triple-digit rate in recent years, and despite competing in the luxurious SUV segment, its cars are more affordable in comparison to the cars of its peers such as Tesla(NASDAQ:TSLA). While NIO's stock has depreciated last month, there's every reason to believe that its growth story is far from over, as the Chinese EV market will continue to aggressively expand in the upcoming years and the penetration of electric vehicles on its roads is only going to increase. Considering this, the company has all the chances to create additional shareholder value in the long run.
\n
Dominating the Chinese Market
\n
Founded in 2014, NIO is an electric vehicle manufacturer that's headquartered in Shanghai, China. The company mostly specializes in the development of luxurious electric SUVs and just likeXPeng(XPEV), it manufactures and sells its cars online and through its showrooms across China. In addition, NIO also offers various energy-related solutions such as home charging stations, mobile charging services, and others to its customers.
\n
In recent years, the company has been aggressively growing, as the deliveries of its cars have been steadily increasing quarter after quarter, which led to the appreciation of its stock. However, due to the overall market selloff last month, NIO's stock along with stocks of other EV manufacturers such as XPeng, Tesla, and Li Auto (LI) evaporated most of its YTD gains and are currently underperforming the S&P 500 Index.
\n

\n
Chart: Seeking Alpha
\n
Despite this, there's every reason to believe that NIO's stock will recover, as the company's successful performance in Q1 shows that its growth story is far from over. InQ1alone NIO beat the Street expectations by $160 million and generated $1.22 billion in revenues, which represents an increase of 481.8% Y/Y. In addition, the company's gross profit was $237.3 million, while its vehicle margin was 21.2% against -7.4% a year ago. During the period, NIO has also improved its bottom-line performance, as its net loss was only $68.8 million, and despite the chip shortages and the Chinese New Year its deliveries have also increased by 422.7% Y/Y and by 15.6% Q/Q to 20,060.
\n
One of the best things about NIO is that it already has a dominant position in the Chinese EV industry and it also has a solid balance sheet, as its cash reserves at the end of Q1stoodat $7.2 billion, while it had only $1.59 billion in long-term debt. As a result, it can easily reinvest its resources back into the business to drive growth and establish an even stronger foothold in its home market without worrying too much about the current losses.
\n
On top of that, while some might say that by trading at a price-to-salesratioof ~13x NIO is overvalued, the reality is that its momentum is not slowing down and there's every reason to believe that the growth story is far from over. Considering that even at the market cap of ~$70 billion NIO still trades below the Streetconsensusprice of $59.24 per share, it's safe to assume that the upside is still there, especially since the current forecasts suggest that the company will increase its revenues from $2.49 billion in FY20 to $8.81 billion in FY22.
\n

\n
Source: Seeking Alpha
\n
At this stage, the major competitor of NIO's flagship SUVES8is Tesla's Model X. However, there are several reasons to believe that the ES8 is a more attractive car in comparison to the Model X, and as a result, NIO has all the opportunities to outsell its competitor in China in the long run. First of all, the ES8 has more legroom and headroom than the Model X, it also has a luxurious interior, and it comes with three different battery packages that could last from 415 kilometers to 580 kilometers on a single charge.
\n
All of the ES8 SUVs include a proprietary operating system, have advanced navigation software, and most importantly cost ~$70,000 per vehicle in China, which is below the cost of Tesla's Model X, which comes at a price tag of ~$110,000 per vehicle in the region. We believe that this pricing advantage will undoubtedly help NIO to outsell Tesla in the SUV segment, especially since its cars now could bepurchasedat a discount thanks to the new Chinese subsidy program.
\n
Another uniqueness of NIO is its battery as a service business model, which allows its customers to swap their batteries in various swapping stations around China if they don't want to charge their cars or are in a hurry. After recently deploying the second version of its Power Swap stations, the swapping of batteries is now done in under three minutes, which is the same as refueling a traditional ICE car, and a single station now could perform up to 312 battery swaps in a single day. NIO now has a network of charging stations across all of China and if the solid-state batteries won't be available by the end of the decade at scale, then the idea of swapping batteries on the go will remain a viable business model in the long run.
\n
Going forward, NIO plans to accelerate its deliveries this month in order to meet its Q2 goal of delivering 21,000 to 22,000 vehicles, which represents a growth of 103% Y/Y to 113% Y/Y and plans to generate $1.24 to $1.29 billion in revenues during the period. Despite the semiconductor shortages, NIO already managed to increase its deliveries in April and May to 7,102 vehicles and 6,711 vehicles, respectively, which represents a growth of 125% Y/Y and 95.3% Y/Y, respectively. On top of that, NIO is also on track to deliver 90,000 to 100,000 vehicles this year.
\n
Considering this, there's every reason to believe that NIO will continue to be a dominant player in the Chinese EV market and a leader of the luxury EV segment in the region. While the company doesn't have an infrastructure outside China, we don't think that's a downside at all since China is the biggest EV market in the world that's constantly growing and NIO has better chances of creating shareholder value there than abroad. For that reason, we believe that NIO's growth story is far from over and it's likely that as long as its deliveries increase with every quarter, its stock will be rising in value in the long run.
","source":"seekingalpha","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
NIO: Buy This Chinese EV Manufacturer While It's Still Cheap
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nNIO: Buy This Chinese EV Manufacturer While It's Still Cheap\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-11 21:11 GMT+8 seekingalpha\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Summary\n\nNIO is a dominant EV manufacturer in the electric SUV segment in China.\nDespite competing in the luxurious SUV segment, its cars are more affordable in comparison to the cars of its peers ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"NIO":"蔚来"},"source_url":"https://seekingalpha.com/article/4434085-nio-buy-this-chinese-ev-manufacturer-while-its-still-cheap","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/5a36db9d73b4222bc376d24ccc48c8a4","article_id":"1146386859","content_text":"Summary\n\nNIO is a dominant EV manufacturer in the electric SUV segment in China.\nDespite competing in the luxurious SUV segment, its cars are more affordable in comparison to the cars of its peers such as Tesla.\nAs the Chinese EV market will continue to aggressively expand in the upcoming years, we believe that NIO has all the chances to create additional shareholder value in the future.\n\nNIO(NYSE:NIO)is a dominant EV manufacturer in the electric SUV segment in China.

Considering this, the company has all the chances to create additional shareholder value in the long run.\nDominating the Chinese Market\nFounded in 2014, NIO is an electric vehicle manufacturer that's headquartered in Shanghai, China. The company mostly specializes in the development of luxurious electric SUVs and just likeXPeng(XPEV), it manufactures and sells its cars online and through its showrooms across China. In addition, NIO also offers various energy-related solutions such as home charging stations, mobile charging services, and others to its customers.\nIn recent years, the company has been aggressively growing, as the deliveries of its cars have been steadily increasing quarter after quarter, which led to the appreciation of its stock. However, due to the overall market selloff last month, NIO's stock along with stocks of other EV manufacturers such as XPeng, Tesla, and Li Auto (LI) evaporated most of its YTD gains and are currently underperforming the S&P 500 Index.\n\nChart: Seeking Alpha\nDespite this, there's every reason to believe that NIO's stock will recover, as the company's successful performance in Q1 shows that its growth story is far from over.
