Disruptive tech stocks held by its exchange-traded funds (ETFs) soared at the beginning of the pandemic only to fall out of the sky last year.

High-growth stocks have been hit hard, but that hasn't stopped Ark Invest founder and CEO, Cathie Wood from buying more. She recently snapped up shares of Block (NYSE:SQ), Zoom Video Communications (NASDAQ:ZM), and Coinbase Global (NASDAQ:COIN) at a relative discount.

Block

This is the payment processing giant formerly known as Square. Block has expanded operations far beyond square-shaped payment processing devices. One of those operations involves owning lots of Bitcoin and letting customers use its digital wallet service, Cash App to conduct transactions with the leading cryptocurrency.

Sinking cryptocurrency prices have been dragging Block's stock price lower and that's not all. Signals from the Federal Reserve suggest several-interest rate raises this year to stifle inflation.

Higher interest rates are generally bad news for high-growth stocks, but this isn't stopping Wood from buying up more shares of Block. That's because Cash App (excluding Bitcoin) and the Square seller ecosystem are performing extremely well. During the 12 months ended Sept. 30, gross profit soared 43% year over year to $1.13 billion.

It's going to take more than rising interest rates to seriously alter Block's growth trajectory. The company began the fourth quarter with a new integrated TikTok service. Now, TikTok business users can link their short viral videos directly to their Square Online stores.

Zoom Video Communications

What a difference one year can make. While 2020 was a banner year for Zoom, the stock has fallen nearly 70% from its peak. Instead of running for the exits, Wood has been snapping up more shares of the videoconferencing platform.

Why is Wood so confident in Zoom's ability to bounce back? My guess is that she sees clear signs Zoom is here to stay pandemic or no pandemic. Stay-at-home orders during the three-month period ended Oct. 31 were relatively benign compared with a year earlier. Despite the tough comparisons, top-line revenue soared 35% higher during the company's fiscal third quarter to reach $1.05 billion.

It doesn't look like Zoom is slashing prices to keep customers either. On a GAAP basis, third-quarter operating income soared 51% year over year to $291 million.

Investors will want to keep their eyes open for the shifting nature of Zoom's revenue sources. Traditional companies desperate for work-from-home solutions could migrate toward videoconferencing solutions from traditional enterprise software giants like Microsoft. When it comes to virtual events aimed at general audiences, though, widespread familiarity with Zoom's user-friendly interface is going to be tough to beat for the foreseeable future.

Coinbase Global

This is one of Ark Invest's largest holdings at the moment, and it's easy to see why Wood finds the cryptocurrency trading platform so fascinating. It's already a cash-generating machine, and its best days are still up ahead.

Sinking cryptocurrency values and diminished enthusiasm for trading those cryptocurrencies aren't great for Coinbase's business at the moment. The current doldrums could quickly become a hurricane though. The number of verified users ready to take part in the next Bitcoin trading frenzy soared to 73 million at the end of September, and assets on the platform rocketed 608% higher year over year to $255 billion.

Charging fees on transactions that would make a stock trading platform blush is a great business, but it isn't the only way Coinbase will make money in the foreseeable future. This year the company expects to launch an NFT marketplace. With an enormous user base and $255 billion in assets on the platform, it could quickly become the world's largest.

","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Cathie Wood Goes Bargain-Hunting: 3 Beaten-Down Growth Stocks She Just Bought
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nCathie Wood Goes Bargain-Hunting: 3 Beaten-Down Growth Stocks She Just Bought\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-01-12 10:16 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
There's no nice way to dress it up: 2021 was a lousy year for Ark Invest. One of those operations involves owning lots of Bitcoin and letting customers use its digital wallet service, Cash App to conduct transactions with the leading cryptocurrency.Sinking cryptocurrency prices have been dragging Block's stock price lower and that's not all. Signals from the Federal Reserve suggest several-interest rate raises this year to stifle inflation.Higher interest rates are generally bad news for high-growth stocks, but this isn't stopping Wood from buying up more shares of Block. Now, TikTok business users can link their short viral videos directly to their Square Online stores.Zoom Video CommunicationsWhat a difference one year can make. On a GAAP basis, third-quarter operating income soared 51% year over year to $291 million.Investors will want to keep their eyes open for the shifting nature of Zoom's revenue sources. Traditional companies desperate for work-from-home solutions could migrate toward videoconferencing solutions from traditional enterprise software giants like Microsoft. When it comes to virtual events aimed at general audiences, though, widespread familiarity with Zoom's user-friendly interface is going to be tough to beat for the foreseeable future.Coinbase GlobalThis is one of Ark Invest's largest holdings at the moment, and it's easy to see why Wood finds the cryptocurrency trading platform so fascinating. It's already a cash-generating machine, and its best days are still up ahead.Sinking cryptocurrency values and diminished enthusiasm for trading those cryptocurrencies aren't great for Coinbase's business at the moment. The current doldrums could quickly become a hurricane though. The number of verified users ready to take part in the next Bitcoin trading frenzy soared to 73 million at the end of September, and assets on the platform rocketed 608% higher year over year to $255 billion.Charging fees on transactions that would make a stock trading platform blush is a great business, but it isn't the only way Coinbase will make money in the foreseeable future. This year the company expects to launch an NFT marketplace. With an enormous user base and $255 billion in assets on the platform, it could quickly become the world's largest.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":492,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9006293332,"gmtCreate":1641742941018,"gmtModify":1676533644129,"author":{"id":"3586684619517715","authorId":"3586684619517715","name":"Jaczter","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8b7cc9f16b2358a7e048d39bfc70602e","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3586684619517715","authorIdStr":"3586684619517715"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"I'm not so sure man...","listText":"I'm not so sure man...","text":"I'm not so sure man...","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9006293332","repostId":"2201249211","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":354,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9006062863,"gmtCreate":1641557136591,"gmtModify":1676533628807,"author":{"id":"3586684619517715","authorId":"3586684619517715","name":"Jaczter","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8b7cc9f16b2358a7e048d39bfc70602e","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3586684619517715","authorIdStr":"3586684619517715"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Here we go again(?)","listText":"Here we go again(?)","text":"Here we go again(?)","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9006062863","repostId":"1169420524","repostType":2,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":301,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9008521551,"gmtCreate":1641485365843,"gmtModify":1676533620486,"author":{"id":"3586684619517715","authorId":"3586684619517715","name":"Jaczter","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8b7cc9f16b2358a7e048d39bfc70602e","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3586684619517715","authorIdStr":"3586684619517715"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Reversal pls","listText":"Reversal pls","text":"Reversal pls","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9008521551","repostId":"1158409393","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1158409393","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1641480317,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1158409393?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-01-06 22:45","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Hot Chinese ADRs Gained in Morning Trading","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1158409393","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"Hot Chinese ADRs gained in morning Trading. A lot has changed globally over the past few decades, and long-term stock winners like Amazon and Netflix have used these tailwinds to reach great heights on the market.

Looking ahead for the next big winners, Coupang (NYSE:CPNG) and Autodesk (NASDAQ:ADSK) are two top technology stocks to buy for the long haul as they ride their own tides of change.

Coupang

Coupang has built a gigantic e-commerce and retail operation in South Korea with a goal to "wow each customer" who places an order using its app. The company owns an end-to-end delivery and logistics network, giving it an advantage over its e-commerce peers in South Korea by providing blazing-fast shipping. At the time of its IPO last year, nearly 100% of Coupang's orders had next-day delivery or faster.

With more efficient service, Coupang has been able to attract millions of Koreans to become active customers on its marketplace. At the end of the third quarter, it had 16.8 million active customers, up 20% year over year (its 15th consecutive quarter of at least 20% growth). Total revenue increased 48% to $4.6 billion, driven by that customer growth as well as 23% higher revenue per active customer.

Couang has increased customer spending by adding services to its online marketplace and expanding its delivery infrastructure. These include Coupang Eats (a food delivery service that was one of the top two downloaded apps in South Korea last year) and Rocket Fresh (same-day grocery delivery).

All these services have required major capital investments with eight million square feet of infrastructure space added and $506 million in capital expenditures through the first nine months of this year. These investments are costly, but they should insulate Coupang from competition that cannot match the scale of its end-to-end delivery network.

With a market cap of about $38 billion as of this writing and an impressive track record of top-line growth, Coupang could be a great technology stock to buy now and hold for the long haul. Plus, with its price-to-sales valuation falling to just 2.2, the lowest level in the company's brief history on the market, the stock trades at a bargain valuation relative to its growth potential.

Autodesk

Unlike Coupang, which is trying to build out a technological advantage that combines the physical and digital worlds, Autodesk solely operates in the software realm. However, its customers are the designers and builders of a lot of the physical infrastructure and real estate around the globe.

At its core, Autodesk provides software for people and corporations that build things. This includes designers and architects, who use its Revit and AutoCAD products; engineers of all types, who use software like Fusion 360; and increasingly, construction workers, who employ the Autodesk Construction Cloud. The company also has a small media and entertainment division that sells 3D animation and visual effects software.

Autodesk is riding a few major trends around the world. The first is building information modeling (BIM), a new standard of keeping all relevant information for a building (among other things) in a software program. Revit, Autodesk's biggest product, is the clear leader in this category. The BIM industry is expected to grow at close to 4% through 2028, which will fuel sales for Revit.

The company is also benefiting from the growth of digitization and cloud collaboration in the engineering, construction, and infrastructure markets. For example, with the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill recently passed in the United States, many of the dollars being allocated will go to industries that Autodesk serves like the builders of roads, bridges, and water systems. This flow of capital will hopefully provide a strong tailwind for Autodesk to grow its customer base.

ADSK free cash flow per share. Data by YCharts. TTM = trailing 12 months.

Autodesk is not a cheap stock with a current market cap of $56 billion and a price-to-sales ratio of 13.4 based on its trailing-12-month numbers. But the company has impressive margins and is guiding for $2.4 billion in free cash flow (FCF) for the next fiscal year (starting in Feb. 2022) with double-digit FCF growth through 2026. If the company can hit this target, that would give it a forward price-to-FCF of 23.5, which is right around the market average now.

With such strong tailwinds coming from BIM and the digitization of the industries it serves, Autodesk has a clear path to growing steadily over the next decade, making it a top stock to own for the long term.

","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
2 Top Tech Stocks to Buy for the Long Haul
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n2 Top Tech Stocks to Buy for the Long Haul\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-01-16 09:37 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Technological innovation continues to influence how we live, from how we watch television to remote work. These investments are costly, but they should insulate Coupang from competition that cannot match the scale of its end-to-end delivery network. With a market cap of about $38 billion as of this writing and an impressive track record of top-line growth, Coupang could be a great technology stock to buy now and hold for the long haul. Plus, with its price-to-sales valuation falling to just 2.2, the lowest level in the company's brief history on the market, the stock trades at a bargain valuation relative to its growth potential.AutodeskUnlike Coupang, which is trying to build out a technological advantage that combines the physical and digital worlds, Autodesk solely operates in the software realm. The company also has a small media and entertainment division that sells 3D animation and visual effects software.Autodesk is riding a few major trends around the world. This flow of capital will hopefully provide a strong tailwind for Autodesk to grow its customer base.ADSK free cash flow per share. Data by YCharts. TTM = trailing 12 months.Autodesk is not a cheap stock with a current market cap of $56 billion and a price-to-sales ratio of 13.4 based on its trailing-12-month numbers. With such strong tailwinds coming from BIM and the digitization of the industries it serves, Autodesk has a clear path to growing steadily over the next decade, making it a top stock to own for the long term.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":342,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9008521551,"gmtCreate":1641485365843,"gmtModify":1676533620486,"author":{"id":"3586684619517715","authorId":"3586684619517715","name":"Jaczter","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8b7cc9f16b2358a7e048d39bfc70602e","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3586684619517715","authorIdStr":"3586684619517715"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Reversal pls","listText":"Reversal pls","text":"Reversal pls","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9008521551","repostId":"1158409393","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":537,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9007927890,"gmtCreate":1642745527391,"gmtModify":1676533742607,"author":{"id":"3586684619517715","authorId":"3586684619517715","name":"Jaczter","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8b7cc9f16b2358a7e048d39bfc70602e","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3586684619517715","authorIdStr":"3586684619517715"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Writing on the wall, writing on the wall..","listText":"Writing on the wall, writing on the wall..","text":"Writing on the wall, writing on the wall..","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9007927890","repostId":"1193566735","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":832,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9006062863,"gmtCreate":1641557136591,"gmtModify":1676533628807,"author":{"id":"3586684619517715","authorId":"3586684619517715","name":"Jaczter","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8b7cc9f16b2358a7e048d39bfc70602e","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3586684619517715","authorIdStr":"3586684619517715"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Here we go again(?)","listText":"Here we go again(?)","text":"Here we go again(?)","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9006062863","repostId":"1169420524","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1169420524","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1641556324,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1169420524?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-01-07 19:52","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Why GameStop is Top WallStreetBets Interest Again Today","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1169420524","media":"Benzinga","summary":"Videogame retailer GameStop Corp.(NYSE:GME) has emerged as the most-discussed stock on Reddit’s r/Wa","content":"

Videogame retailer GameStop Corp.(NYSE:GME) has emerged as the most-discussed stock on Reddit’s r/WallStreetBets forum as of early Friday.

What Happened: GameStop is seeing the highest interest on the forum with 1,189 mentions as at press time, while exchange-traded fund SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust(NYSE:SPY) was a distant second with 502 mentions, data from Quiver Quantitative showed.

Electric vehicle maker Tesla Inc.(NASDAQ:TSLA) and movie theatre chain AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc.(NYSE:AMC) are in the third and fourth positions, having attracted 233 and 174 mentions respectively.

Why It Matters: Shares of GameStop surged more than 22% in Thursday’s extended trading session.

The company is launching a division to develop a marketplace for non fungible tokens(NFTs) and enter into partnerships with two companies in the cryptocurrency space, it was reported, citing the Wall Street Journal.

The move — which comes as GameStop tries to turn around its core videogame business and also confirmed earlier speculation— was cheered by retail investors, who are highly enthusiastic about Bitcoin(CRYPTO:BTC) and other cryptocurrencies.

AMC Entertainment, another favorite Reddit stock, entered the NFT space in 2021 with Spider-Man themed NFTs to coincide with the December release of “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”

Price Action: GameStop shares closed almost 1.3% higher in Thursday’s regular trading session at $131.03 and further gained 22.5% in the after-hours session to $160.50.

","source":"lsy1606299360108","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; Peloton's products were in high demand when economies were in various phases of lockdowns and nonessential businesses, including gyms, were forced to close their doors to the public. That limited the ways folks could exercise, and they turned to Peloton in large numbers.

The surge in demand was so pronounced that Peloton had difficulty fulfilling orders. At one point, customers had to wait more than ten weeks to receive their exercise equipment. In response, management made investments to increase manufacturing capacity and reduce delivery times.

Unfortunately for Peloton, several effective vaccines against COVID-19 were developed, economies started reopening, and demand for in-home exercise equipment decreased. Meanwhile, Peloton is stuck with a higher expense base because of its investments to increase capacity. In its most recent quarter ended Sept. 30, Peloton reported a net loss of $367 million compared to a net profit of $69.3 million at the same time last year.

To make matters worse, Peloton had decreased the price of its bike from $1,895 to $1,495. The move did create increased purchasing from price-sensitive consumers but not enough to offset the considerable price decrease. As a result, revenue in the connected-fitness-products segment (which includes bike sales) fell from $601 million in the third quarter of 2020 to $501 million in Q3 2021. Meanwhile, supply-chain disruptions are raising input and transportation costs; the cost to fulfill sales increased by 21.1% year over year in Q3.

One potential, near-term bright spot for Peloton is the $1.27 billion of inventory it had on hand ahead of the lucrative holiday shopping season -- up from $937 million in the prior quarter. The quarter ending in December typically is the most lucrative for Peloton, coinciding with not only holiday gift-giving but also new year resolution-induced purchasing. So management is hopeful for strong sales this quarter.

Peloton's stock is a relative bargain

Peloton's stock has undoubtedly faced a steep price decline in 2021 -- and for clear reasons. Customer demand leveled off as economies reopened; meanwhile, management was making investments to increase capacity. All of this has shaken investor confidence. At one point in the last two years, Peloton's stock was selling at a price-to-sales ratio over 20. As of this writing, it's down to 2.7.

Yet Peloton's stock price crash could now be a bargain for long-term investors who can tolerate any further volatility the company could go through in the short term as it adjusts to changing consumer behavior.

","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Bargain Shopping? In response, management made investments to increase manufacturing capacity and reduce delivery times.Unfortunately for Peloton, several effective vaccines against COVID-19 were developed, economies started reopening, and demand for in-home exercise equipment decreased. Meanwhile, Peloton is stuck with a higher expense base because of its investments to increase capacity. In its most recent quarter ended Sept. 30, Peloton reported a net loss of $367 million compared to a net profit of $69.3 million at the same time last year.To make matters worse, Peloton had decreased the price of its bike from $1,895 to $1,495. The move did create increased purchasing from price-sensitive consumers but not enough to offset the considerable price decrease. As a result, revenue in the connected-fitness-products segment (which includes bike sales) fell from $601 million in the third quarter of 2020 to $501 million in Q3 2021. Meanwhile, supply-chain disruptions are raising input and transportation costs; the cost to fulfill sales increased by 21.1% year over year in Q3.One potential, near-term bright spot for Peloton is the $1.27 billion of inventory it had on hand ahead of the lucrative holiday shopping season -- up from $937 million in the prior quarter. The quarter ending in December typically is the most lucrative for Peloton, coinciding with not only holiday gift-giving but also new year resolution-induced purchasing. So management is hopeful for strong sales this quarter.Peloton's stock is a relative bargainPeloton's stock has undoubtedly faced a steep price decline in 2021 -- and for clear reasons. Customer demand leveled off as economies reopened; meanwhile, management was making investments to increase capacity. All of this has shaken investor confidence. At one point in the last two years, Peloton's stock was selling at a price-to-sales ratio over 20. As of this writing, it's down to 2.7.Yet Peloton's stock price crash could now be a bargain for long-term investors who can tolerate any further volatility the company could go through in the short term as it adjusts to changing consumer behavior.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":709,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9006293332,"gmtCreate":1641742941018,"gmtModify":1676533644129,"author":{"id":"3586684619517715","authorId":"3586684619517715","name":"Jaczter","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8b7cc9f16b2358a7e048d39bfc70602e","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3586684619517715","authorIdStr":"3586684619517715"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"I'm not so sure man...","listText":"I'm not so sure man...","text":"I'm not so sure man...","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9006293332","repostId":"2201249211","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":354,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
