Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM) . Taiwan Semiconductor reports Q2 financial performance in two weeks, on July 16th. Currently, Wall Street is looking for EPS of $0.93, without much divergence in opinion. This name is not as highly followed across the community of analysts. I can only find four analysts that have gone as far as to make quarterly projections, six that have made annual projections, and just two that have really stuck their necks out and stated a price target at any point in the past six months.
\n
The range of EPS expectations for Q2 EPS for TSM, across those four analysts is just $0.91 to $0.95. Wall Street is looking for approximately $13.2 billion in revenue generation for the quarter, which would be year over year sales growth of about 27%. This would be an acceleration in sales growth for a second consecutive quarter.
\n
This Week
\n
It was Tuesday. DigiTimes reports that Taiwan Semiconductor is expected to record record revenues for June, due to shipments of iPhones showing up in the data. Apparently, reduced purchases by client Bitmain, as China bans Bitcoin mining had not taken the toll on TSM sales as some had expected. Demand for 5nm and 7nm processors had offset the loss of that mining business as the firm shipped chips for Apple's (AAPL) smartphones in time to appear in June's numbers. The expectation is that the firm stays on course for 20% sales growth for the fiscal year, and that June could be flat from May (which is a good thing).
\n
Early this (Friday) morning, news broke that Apple and Intel (INTC) will be the first customers to test TSM's 3nm production technology, which if all goes well, deploys toward the back half of 2022. Nikkei Asia reports that Intel is planning at least two projects to design CPUs for notebooks and data centers around the new 3nm chips.
\n
Just a quick tutorial. TSM's 5nm chips are the most advanced chips available and if you have an iPhone 12, you have one of these chips. TSM is indicating that the new 3nm chips will offer a 10% to 15% boost to computing performance compared to the current 5nm product, while also reducing power consumption by 25% to 30%.
\n
As an aside, Intel announced the delay of the Sapphire Rapids data center processor earlier this week. While this is seen around Wall Street as yet another chance for Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) , and even Nvidia (NVDA) , to tackle even more market share away from the lumbering giant, but also makes at least this investor wonder just how Intel thinks they are going to get to a point anytime soon where they can compete with the likes of Taiwan Semiconductor as a global foundry to other chip designers.
\n
Wall Street
\n
Of those few analysts that I mentioned who actually cover the name, only one reacted to this news. Susquehanna's five star (rated at TipRanks) analyst Mehdi Hosseini upgraded the name from \"Negative\" to \"Neutral\", while upping his target price from $85 to $105. The only other analyst with a recent target price is Jim Kelleher of Argus Research (also five stars). Kelleher initiated the name a week earlier as a \"Buy\" with a $150 target.
\n
The Chart
\n

\n
Readers will see that in late April, these shares managed to turn a descending triangle (which is a bearish pattern) into a flat basing pattern without ever allowing the triangle to close. Since bottoming, TSM has retaken both the 21 day EMA and the 50 day SMA, using the former as support on weakness just yesterday.
\n
The Plan
\n
Regular followers well know that I have been hot for the semis for a good while now, in spite of, or rather because of the widely covered shortages that are creating significant pricing power.
\n
I am already long AMD, and Marvell Technology (MRVL) , both of whom have been solid investments. I am long Micron (MU) , which looked good until this week. I am long Nvidia which has simply been epic.
\n
I am also long semiconductor equipment names... Applied Materials (AMAT) , and Brooks Automation (BRKS) , two names that have been good, and meh, respectively. I probably have room for a large foundry that will probably make short work of Intel (my opinion) once Intel tries to move in on their business.
\n
I think TSM is ripe for entry, perhaps to the tune of 1/8 of intended position size. I would expect to add a second tranche of 1/8 at either a test of the 21 day EMA or a retaking of the $122 level, which is our pivot. Our target price upon taking that pivot will be $144, while for now (after purchasing these shares), I will go with a panic point of $110 (8% discount to initial entry).
","source":"lsy1610613172068","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Taiwan Semiconductor Is Ripe for Entry: Here's How I'm Playing It
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nTaiwan Semiconductor Is Ripe for Entry: Here's How I'm Playing It\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-07-03 09:40 GMT+8 The Street\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
I've been hot for the semis for a good while now because of the widely covered shortages that are creating significant pricing power.\n\nThinking about... Inflation fears have eased, economic indicators are strengthening and the Federal Reserve remains accommodative.
\n
But look past the sunshine and lollipops, and you’ll find a growing sense of defensiveness.
\n
Investors are taking risk off the table as the fast-spreading delta variant of the coronavirus causes fresh outbreaks in many parts of the world. Airline and cruise stocks are being dumped while there’s a renewed embrace of the stay-at-home trade. Businesses’ hiring woes have increased concerns over rising wages, prompting a pivot toward pricing power. Sectors seen as hardy growers, like technology, are back on top.
\n
There are even indications that the S&P 500’s 90% rally from the pandemic bottom could be due for a pause, since fewer stocks are participating in the latest leg up. This has helped put a halt to massive equity inflows and driven a sharp demand for government bonds.
\n
“What the market is starting to recognize is that all the good news cannot be good in every single way,” Daniel Skelly, head of market research and strategy at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, said in an interview on Bloomberg TV and Radio. “There is a realization that earnings revisions are starting to plateau and roll over.”
\n
The S&P 500 advanced for a fifth week in six, closing above 4,300 for the first time in history. The tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 Index outperformed, rounding out seven straight weekly gains, the longest streak since November 2019. Economically sensitive shares lagged and the Russell 2000 of smaller companies fell.
\n

\n
The contrast between tech and small-caps is the latest example of investors quickly adjusting their positions in anticipation of stronger headwinds. In this playbook, safety is the name of the game.
\n
Exchange-traded funds focusing on U.S. stocks lost almost $6 billion in the week through Thursday, a departure from the first few months of the year, when they lured more than $200 billion of fresh money, data compiled by Bloomberg show. Meanwhile, demand for safe havens spurred the second-highest monthly inflows to the iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF (ticker TLT).
\n
Professional speculators also started to rein in risk. In the final days of June, hedge funds reduced their long positions while covering their shorts. Combined, their risk-off activity reached the highest level since late January, prime broker data compiled by Goldman Sachs Group Inc. show. Still, with net leverage sitting higher than 90% of the time over the past year, positioning is hardly bearish.
\n
While the list of worries is long, there is no shortage of reasons to stay invested. Growth may be peaking, but corporate earnings are still expected to expand through at least 2023. Fed policy makers have shown a hawkish tilt, yet say they’re a long way from raising interest rates.
\n
To Liz Ann Sonders, Charles Schwab Corp.’s chief investment strategist, the market outlook remains murky.
\n
“Did the pandemic pause the cycle that was in play in the economy and the market up until February last year, or did it end one cycle and start a new one?” Sonders said in an interview on Bloomberg TV. “We’ll start to get answers to that in the next few months when we move past the base effects in terms of economic data and inflation data.”
\n

\n
Investors are not waiting to find out. With inflation rising, companies seen as better equipped to pass on costs to customers without hurting their business are in vogue. Inflation fears have eased, economic indicators are strengthening and the Federal Reserve remains accommodative.\nBut look past the sunshine and lollipops, and you’ll find a growing sense of defensiveness.\nInvestors are taking risk off the table as the fast-spreading delta variant of the coronavirus causes fresh outbreaks in many parts of the world. Airline and cruise stocks are being dumped while there’s a renewed embrace of the stay-at-home trade. Businesses’ hiring woes have increased concerns over rising wages, prompting a pivot toward pricing power. Sectors seen as hardy growers, like technology, are back on top.\nThere are even indications that the S&P 500’s 90% rally from the pandemic bottom could be due for a pause, since fewer stocks are participating in the latest leg up. This has helped put a halt to massive equity inflows and driven a sharp demand for government bonds.\n“What the market is starting to recognize is that all the good news cannot be good in every single way,” Daniel Skelly, head of market research and strategy at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, said in an interview on Bloomberg TV and Radio. “There is a realization that earnings revisions are starting to plateau and roll over.”\nThe S&P 500 advanced for a fifth week in six, closing above 4,300 for the first time in history. The tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 Index outperformed, rounding out seven straight weekly gains, the longest streak since November 2019. Economically sensitive shares lagged and the Russell 2000 of smaller companies fell.\n\nThe contrast between tech and small-caps is the latest example of investors quickly adjusting their positions in anticipation of stronger headwinds. In this playbook, safety is the name of the game.\nExchange-traded funds focusing on U.S. stocks lost almost $6 billion in the week through Thursday, a departure from the first few months of the year, when they lured more than $200 billion of fresh money, data compiled by Bloomberg show. Meanwhile, demand for safe havens spurred the second-highest monthly inflows to the iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF (ticker TLT).\nProfessional speculators also started to rein in risk. In the final days of June, hedge funds reduced their long positions while covering their shorts. Combined, their risk-off activity reached the highest level since late January, prime broker data compiled by Goldman Sachs Group Inc. show. Still, with net leverage sitting higher than 90% of the time over the past year, positioning is hardly bearish.\nWhile the list of worries is long, there is no shortage of reasons to stay invested. Growth may be peaking, but corporate earnings are still expected to expand through at least 2023. Fed policy makers have shown a hawkish tilt, yet say they’re a long way from raising interest rates.\nTo Liz Ann Sonders, Charles Schwab Corp.’s chief investment strategist, the market outlook remains murky.\n“Did the pandemic pause the cycle that was in play in the economy and the market up until February last year, or did it end one cycle and start a new one?” Sonders said in an interview on Bloomberg TV. “We’ll start to get answers to that in the next few months when we move past the base effects in terms of economic data and inflation data.”\n\nInvestors are not waiting to find out. With inflation rising, companies seen as better equipped to pass on costs to customers without hurting their business are in vogue. Their stocks, as tracked by Goldman, last month beat a cohort with low pricing power by the most since March 2020, the start of this bull market.\nMeanwhile, brooding over a potential economic slowdown sparked a rotation back to growth stocks out of value, a style dominated by cyclical shares. The Russell 1000 Growth Index outperformed its value counterpart in June by the most in two decades.\nThe reopening trade that’s frolicked since November’s vaccine rollout has been quieted as the delta variant spreads from Europe to Asia. A Goldman basket of stocks poised to benefit from a return to normal economic activity just suffered its worst month since last July relative to the stay-at-home basket.\n“People are really nervous about anything that could see a resurgence in cases or a return to some of the shutdowns,” said Chris Gaffney, president of world markets at TIAA Bank. “It’s just a reminder that this Covid is still out there and could raise its head again.”","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":529,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":152854851,"gmtCreate":1625283117573,"gmtModify":1703739947649,"author":{"id":"4087441193034590","authorId":"4087441193034590","name":"Tita","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e7ca31e75eaf1f9b7d9dda077ae70ad3","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4087441193034590","authorIdStr":"4087441193034590"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[Strong] ","listText":"[Strong] ","text":"[Strong]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/152854851","repostId":"1122056398","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":522,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":125276591,"gmtCreate":1624677812413,"gmtModify":1703843447452,"author":{"id":"4087441193034590","authorId":"4087441193034590","name":"Tita","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e7ca31e75eaf1f9b7d9dda077ae70ad3","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4087441193034590","authorIdStr":"4087441193034590"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[Grin] ","listText":"[Grin] ","text":"[Grin]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/125276591","repostId":"1177764085","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1177764085","pubTimestamp":1624662146,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1177764085?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-26 07:02","market":"us","language":"en","title":"S&P 500 climbs to another record led by bank shares, notches its best week since February","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1177764085","media":"CNBC","summary":"U.S. stocks rose on Friday with the S&P 500 building on its rally to records, as investors bet that ","content":"
\n
U.S. stocks rose on Friday with the S&P 500 building on its rally to records, as investors bet that higher inflation will be temporary as the economy continues to recover from the pandemic.\nThe broad ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n","source":"cnbc_highlight","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; Financials were the best-performing S&P 500 sector with a 1.3% gain. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 237.02 points, or 0.7%, to 34,433.84, sitting less than 2% from its record. The Nasdaq Composite erased earlier gains and closed 0.1% lower at 14,360.39 amid a rise in bond yields. The 10-year Treasury yield jumped 4 basis points to 1.52%.\nThe S&P 500 rallied 2.7% for the week, notching its biggest weekly gain since early February. The Dow gained 3.4% this week for its best week since mid-March, while the Nasdaq advanced 2.4%.\nFriday’s rally came after a key inflation indicator that the Federal Reserve uses to set policy rose 3.4% in May, the fastest increase since the early 1990s, the Commerce Department reported Friday. The reading matched the expectation from economists polled by Dow Jones. The core index rose 0.5% for the month, which actually was below the 0.6% estimate.\nThe core personal consumption expenditures price index increase reflects the rapid pace of economic expansion and resulting price pressures, and amplified how far the nation has come since the pandemic-induced shutdown of 2020.\n“This provided support to the Fed’s argument that inflation is transitory and will help allay fears that we are witnessing runaway inflation,” said Anu Gaggar, senior global Investment analyst at Commonwealth Financial Network. “This should continue to provide support to risk assets such as equities.”\nBank shares jumped after the Federal Reserve announced the banking industry could easily withstand a severe recession. The Fed, in releasing the results of its annual stress test, said the 23 institutions in the 2021 exam remained “well above” minimum required capital levels during a hypothetical economic downturn. The decision cleared the way for the banks to raise dividends and buy back more stock, which was suspended during the pandemic.\nWells Fargo climbed 2.6%, while Fifth Third and PNC all gained over 2%. JPMorgan and Bank of America both rose more than 1%.\nNike’s stock surged 15.5%, helping to boost sentiment for the Dow. The company reported earnings and revenue that blew past Wall Street estimates. Digital sales also jumped 41% since last year and 147% from two years ago.\nOn the flipside,FedEx dipped 3.6% despite beating on the top and bottom lines of its earnings. FedEx also gave a strong yearly outlook.\nFriday saw heightened trading volume as FTSE Russell was set to rebalance its U.S. stock indexes at the market close. Bank of America estimated that more than $170 billion worth of shares would be changed hands as a result of 625 changes in total to Russell indexes, including the Russell 1000 and Russell 2000.\nPresident Joe Biden announced Thursday that the White House struck an infrastructure deal with a bipartisan group of senators. The lawmakers have worked for weeks to craft a roughly $1 trillion package that could get through Congress with support from both parties. The framework will include $579 billion in new spending on transportation like roads, bridges and rail, electric vehicle infrastructure and electric transit, among other things.\nThe stock market came back from last week’s swoon induced by worries about a tighter Federal Reserve. Lose the former or should the latter sour, the other will likely be affected.\nWhich brings us to Plug Power (PLUG). The hydrogen fuel cell specialist put up a mighty display in 2020’s new energy enamored stock market, with the share gains coming free and easy. But earlier this year, the tables had turned as investors fled from growth stocks to more inflation-safe environs. What’s more, Plug Power ran into a mess of its own making. There was suddenly a lot of anxiousness around the company when an audit unearthed non-cash related errors while the company was getting its 10-K filing ready, after which it needed to refile fiscal 2018–2019 financial results along with some recent quarterly statements.\nWith the refiling now done, that overhang has been put to rest, and PLUG has belatedly posted its 1Q21 earnings. The results were a mixed bag, but following recent updates, investors already knew what was more or less in store. In fact, the market reacted favorably to the latest developments, which have also encouraged Evercore analyst James West.\nThe unveiling of General Motors as a new “pedestal/critical customer,” says West, should lead to “additional uptake throughout the automotive industry given the ringing endorsement from GM.”\nWhat’s more, the company teased investors with the prospect of a fifth “pedestal” customer, one West thinks will be revealed later this year and will join a client list that includes not only GM, but Amazon, Walmart and Home Depot. The addition, West believes, will further “drive the stock.”\nPLUG’s sales are also on the rise, although the company is still a way off being profitable. However, West is “not at all concerned with the lack of near-term profits.”\n“PLUG is clearly in growth mode, the path towards achieving greater scale is more solidified, and renewable hydrogen costs continue to fall,” the analyst said. “Long-term investors should take solace with PLUG’s runway after 2024 when the company will be generating +$2B of annual revenues and is no longer investing for the long-term.”\nAccordingly, West reiterated an Outperform (i.e., Buy) rating on PLUG stock backed by a $42 price target. Investors could be pocketing gains of ~24%, should the analyst’s forecast materialize. (To watch West’s track record, click here)\nAccording to West’s colleagues, there’s more upside on the way. The average price target clocks in at $44.38, suggesting one-year gains of 31%. Overall, PLUG stock has a Moderate Buy consensus rating based on 9 Buys, 4 Holds and 1 Sell. Though they’re normally administered annually, the Fed required additional exams during the pandemic.
\n
Now, with most banks sitting on mountains of excess cash, the exercise is primarily an indicator of how much of that money can be doled out to investors.
\n
“It truly is just a math exercise now,” said Jason Goldberg, an analyst at Barclays. “Given the fact that these banks did really well in the December Covid stress test and generally have more capital today than they did then, they should screen well.”
\n
Here’s what investors are watching for when the Fed announces stress-test results:
\n
New Schedule
\n
The day of the results used to be a frantic affair and banks that survived the exams would quickly announce their plans for distributing capital to investors. But now those plans don’t need the Fed’s sign-off because each bank knows its exact capital minimum. A lender can do whatever it likes with its excess cash.
\n
After the results are revealed, the Fed will specify the soonest that banks can announce their latest buyback and dividend intentions. It probably won’t be until next week when firms reveal their plans, though, and banks can choose to do so at a later date as well.
\n
New Rules
\n
The Fed tested 23 banks in total this time around, a list that includes domestic firms and U.S. subsidiaries of foreign lenders. Banks that pass the annual exam remain subject to a constant requirement that they stay above their capital target for the rest of the year. If a lender falls below at any point, the Fed can initiate enforcement actions before waiting for the next stress test.
\n
The stress capital buffer was technically implemented last year; however, because banks were subject to the pandemic-era limitations on shareholder returns, 2021 will be the first year the new system is in full effect.
\n
Bigger Payouts
\n
Some banks have already started sketching out how much cash they plan to return to shareholders as part of the 2021 Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review -- or CCAR -- cycle, which includes the next four quarters.
\n
Bank of America has said it hopes to raise its dividend and announced plans to repurchase as much as $25 billion of its common stock while JPMorgan’s board has approved $30 billion in stock buybacks over an “indefinite time frame.”
\n
“Reality is, the banking industry was tested by the pandemic,” Susan Roth Katzke, an analyst at Credit Suisse Group AG, said in a note to clients. “Near term, we expect macro recovery to remain an overwhelming positive, benefiting most, if not all banks.”
\n
In all, the six biggest U.S. banks are expected to triple their buybacks alone in the coming months to $107 billion.
\n
No Mulligan
\n
Previously, banks that were near their regulatory capital minimums -- or breaching them -- may have had to tweak their original payout requests to allay regulators’ concerns. The process is simplified this year and designed to nix this do-over option, known as the mulligan. Bank boards are now allowed to approve the payout plans once the Fed’s calculations are apparent.
\n
Bank executives have criticized the process for being onerous and some are pleased the mulligan is gone.
\n
“Something I’ve argued for years, let’s not play this game of the mulligan,” Morgan Stanley Chief Executive Officer James Gorman said at an event last week. “This is treating you like you’re grownups. You know what you’re doing. You’re running a prudent business, get on with it, run it the way you should.”
\n
Risk Management
\n
Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank AG are among the foreign lenders reporting results. Fed Vice Chairman for Supervision Randal Quarles became a target for criticism in recent weeks for his earlier campaign to free Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank and other foreign lenders from the agency’s most intensive big-bank supervision. He’d argued that such banks have diminishing footprints in the U.S. and don’t need the same level of oversight.
\n
But after they were released from the highest level of Fed supervision, Credit Suisse was mired in the Archegos Capital Management scandal and Deutsche Bank is said to bebracing itselffor a significant Fed enforcement action tied to years of risk-management failings.
\n
“Credit Suisse is one we are watching,” said Alison Williams, an analyst at Bloomberg Intelligence. “The fact that there was some noise around U.S. regulators being unhappy” with Deutsche Bank could potentially raise some risk for the German lender, Williams said.
","source":"lsy1584095487587","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; Though they’re normally administered annually, the Fed required additional exams during the pandemic.\nNow, with most banks sitting on mountains of excess cash, the exercise is primarily an indicator of how much of that money can be doled out to investors.\n“It truly is just a math exercise now,” said Jason Goldberg, an analyst at Barclays. “Given the fact that these banks did really well in the December Covid stress test and generally have more capital today than they did then, they should screen well.”\nHere’s what investors are watching for when the Fed announces stress-test results:\nNew Schedule\nThe day of the results used to be a frantic affair and banks that survived the exams would quickly announce their plans for distributing capital to investors. But now those plans don’t need the Fed’s sign-off because each bank knows its exact capital minimum. A lender can do whatever it likes with its excess cash.\nAfter the results are revealed, the Fed will specify the soonest that banks can announce their latest buyback and dividend intentions. It probably won’t be until next week when firms reveal their plans, though, and banks can choose to do so at a later date as well.\nNew Rules\nThe Fed tested 23 banks in total this time around, a list that includes domestic firms and U.S. subsidiaries of foreign lenders. Banks that pass the annual exam remain subject to a constant requirement that they stay above their capital target for the rest of the year. If a lender falls below at any point, the Fed can initiate enforcement actions before waiting for the next stress test.\nThe stress capital buffer was technically implemented last year; however, because banks were subject to the pandemic-era limitations on shareholder returns, 2021 will be the first year the new system is in full effect.\nBigger Payouts\nSome banks have already started sketching out how much cash they plan to return to shareholders as part of the 2021 Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review -- or CCAR -- cycle, which includes the next four quarters.\nBank of America has said it hopes to raise its dividend and announced plans to repurchase as much as $25 billion of its common stock while JPMorgan’s board has approved $30 billion in stock buybacks over an “indefinite time frame.”\n“Reality is, the banking industry was tested by the pandemic,” Susan Roth Katzke, an analyst at Credit Suisse Group AG, said in a note to clients. “Near term, we expect macro recovery to remain an overwhelming positive, benefiting most, if not all banks.”\nIn all, the six biggest U.S. banks are expected to triple their buybacks alone in the coming months to $107 billion.\nNo Mulligan\nPreviously, banks that were near their regulatory capital minimums -- or breaching them -- may have had to tweak their original payout requests to allay regulators’ concerns. The process is simplified this year and designed to nix this do-over option, known as the mulligan. Bank boards are now allowed to approve the payout plans once the Fed’s calculations are apparent.\nBank executives have criticized the process for being onerous and some are pleased the mulligan is gone.\n“Something I’ve argued for years, let’s not play this game of the mulligan,” Morgan Stanley Chief Executive Officer James Gorman said at an event last week. “This is treating you like you’re grownups. You know what you’re doing. You’re running a prudent business, get on with it, run it the way you should.”\nRisk Management\nCredit Suisse and Deutsche Bank AG are among the foreign lenders reporting results. Fed Vice Chairman for Supervision Randal Quarles became a target for criticism in recent weeks for his earlier campaign to free Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank and other foreign lenders from the agency’s most intensive big-bank supervision. He’d argued that such banks have diminishing footprints in the U.S. and don’t need the same level of oversight.\nBut after they were released from the highest level of Fed supervision, Credit Suisse was mired in the Archegos Capital Management scandal and Deutsche Bank is said to bebracing itselffor a significant Fed enforcement action tied to years of risk-management failings.\n“Credit Suisse is one we are watching,” said Alison Williams, an analyst at Bloomberg Intelligence. “The fact that there was some noise around U.S. regulators being unhappy” with Deutsche Bank could potentially raise some risk for the German lender, Williams said.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":301,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":121167289,"gmtCreate":1624456993241,"gmtModify":1703837297696,"author":{"id":"4087441193034590","authorId":"4087441193034590","name":"Tita","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e7ca31e75eaf1f9b7d9dda077ae70ad3","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4087441193034590","authorIdStr":"4087441193034590"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[Grin] ","listText":"[Grin] ","text":"[Grin]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/121167289","repostId":"1104807513","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1104807513","pubTimestamp":1624447558,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1104807513?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-23 19:25","market":"us","language":"en","title":"ARKK: Buy On Weakness Before It Leaves Without You","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1104807513","media":"seekingalpha","summary":"Summary\n\nARK Innovation ETF lost almost 40% from its Feb high to the depths in May as it also experi","content":"
Summary
\n
\n
ARK Innovation ETF lost almost 40% from its Feb high to the depths in May as it also experienced its worst fund outflows in over a year.
\n
While fear took over many of ARKK’s investors, long-term ARKK investors know nothing has changed, as secular growth drivers remain well intact.
\n
Long-term investors should take advantage of its price weakness to add more positions of ARK’s flagship ETF.
\n
\n
Investment Thesis
\n
ARK Innovation ETF(NYSEARCA:ARKK)is a popular ETF among retail investors who wish to gain access to disruptive companies in their respective industries. ARK emphasized:
\n
\n In our last valuation model, ARK assumed that Tesla had a 30% chance of delivering fully autonomous driving in the five years ended 2024. Now,ARK estimates that the probability is 50% by 2025. Since our last forecast, neural networks have solved many complex problems previously considered unsolvable, increasing the probability that robotaxis are viable. ARK estimates that Tesla’s vehicle fleet gives it access to 30-40 million miles of data per day, up from 20 million per day last year. If successful, Tesla could scale its robotaxi service rapidly, allocating the additional cash in turn to manufacturing capacity serving its autonomous network.\n
\n
The chart above also gives investors an idea on how Tesla’s lead may transform the entire auto industry by 2035 where in the “disruptive” scenario 59% and 66% of vehicles would be Level 4 or 5 autonomous vehicles, giving the market leader an enormous share of the market, just in auto sales alone. We have not even accounted for revenue streams that could come from other areas such as robotaxi service as highlighted by ARK.
\n
Of course, not everyone agrees with Tesla’s approach, especially Waymo (unsurprisingly), as well asGuidehouse Insightswho ranked Tesla last again and Waymo first in its latest guide on autonomous driving. Guidehouse said:
\n
\n “Tesla needs a thorough rethink of its approach to developing its automated driving system [ADS]. Investors are encouraged to visitARK’s assumptionswhich detail their assumptions on their bullish stance.
\n
TDOC: Telemedicine Market is Expected to Grow at More Than 20% CAGR over the Next 10 Years
\n
Projected Global Telemedicine market. Data Source: thebusinessresearchcompany.com (TBRC)
\n
From the chart above we could clearly see that TDOC operates within arapidly growing telemedicine market, that is expected to grow from just $49.9B in 2019 to $459.8B by 2030 in 11 years, which would represent an incredible 25.9% CAGR.
\n
Telemedicine’s growth had started well before COVID-19 pandemic hit that was then accelerated by the pandemic. However, investors who do not understand TDOC’s growth drivers often lamented that the company’s growth and raison d'être would fizzle out once vaccinations and economies’ reopenings took over. We believe these investors were truly mistaken as TDOC is still expected to generate YoY revenue growth rates in excess of 25% moving forward, that for the emerging leader in telemedicine may even have been on the conservative side as it’s “merely” largely in line with the market’s expected CAGR. Therefore, TDOC’s growth prospects look extremely exciting.
\n
Invest in ARKK or Invest in its Highest Conviction Companies?
\n

\n
TSLA and TDOC EV / Fwd EBIT. Data source: S&P Capital IQ
\n
TSLA and TDOC EV / Fwd (EBITDA - CapEx). Data source: S&P Capital IQ
\n
Growth investors often find themselves undecided on whether to invest in the underlying stocks directly or invest through ARKK. While we don’t think there is a simple answer to this, investors should consider the key benefits of investing in ARKK as compared to investing directly in the underlying stocks.
\n
While companies such as TSLA and TDOC have massive potential as we could see from both the charts above where their valuations are expected to drop significantly as they continued to scale up and achieve their growth targets (assuming EV remains the same though it’s unrealistic if the companies continue to execute their growth strategies well). However, the fact of the matter remains that their valuations are not cheap whether basing off EBIT or FCF (using EBITDA - CapEx as a proxy) as shown clearly above.
\n
Therefore, by investing in ARKK you put your money in a widely diversified ETF that’s focused on disruptive companies that are expected to be the leader in the future, although some may not end up to be. Therefore, by investing in ARKK, investors could simply dedicate a disciplined proportion of their portfolio that they are willing to allocate to such disruptive stocks, without the need to fill up their portfolio with lots of them, and taking more risks than what may be appropriate. In addition, as such companies are usually emerging leaders in their respective fields, investors would need to do a lot of groundwork to keep pace with their investments in order to continue evaluating the quality of their thesis moving forward. However, ARK does all the heavy lifting for investors as ARK would actively manage those holdings and would reduce or add exposures to its stocks whenever necessary.
\n
Therefore, we gladly hold ARKK along with some of the underlying stocks within the ETF in order to benefit from a wide range of disruptive companies that we do not intend to hold as our underlying holdings but wish to gain an exposure to, while holding on to some of ARK's highest conviction picks as our core holdings.
\n
Price Action and Technical Analysis
\n

\n
ARKK has a strong uptrend bias that has been supported along the 20W moving average until it was lost during the rotation we saw between Feb and May. However, it seems like most of the inventory has already been unloaded by the weak holders as $105 looks like a strong support level that has held up well, that also coincided with the 50W moving average. We think that long term investors should not find the current price expensive even though ARKK has recovered somewhat from its May lows. The long term growth drivers remain highly attractive for its underlying stocks and investors should take advantage of the price weakness to initiate or add to ARK’s flagship ETF.
\n
Wrapping It All Up
\n
ARKK represents a convenient way for investors to gain exposure to companies that are expected to grow rapidly and establish themselves as the undisputed leaders in their respective industries.
","source":"seekingalpha","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
ARKK: Buy On Weakness Before It Leaves Without You
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nARKK: Buy On Weakness Before It Leaves Without You\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-23 19:25 GMT+8 seekingalpha\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Summary\n\nARK Innovation ETF lost almost 40% from its Feb high to the depths in May as it also experienced its worst fund outflows in over a year.\nWhile fear took over many of ARKK’s investors, long-...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"ARKK":"ARK Innovation ETF"},"source_url":"https://seekingalpha.com/article/4435995-arkk-buy-on-weakness-before-it-leaves-without-you","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/5a36db9d73b4222bc376d24ccc48c8a4","article_id":"1104807513","content_text":"Summary\n\nARK Innovation ETF lost almost 40% from its Feb high to the depths in May as it also experienced its worst fund outflows in over a year.\nWhile fear took over many of ARKK’s investors, long-term ARKK investors know nothing has changed, as secular growth drivers remain well intact.\nLong-term investors should take advantage of its price weakness to add more positions of ARK’s flagship ETF.\n\nInvestment Thesis\nARK Innovation ETF(NYSEARCA:ARKK)is a popular ETF among retail investors who wish to gain access to disruptive companies in their respective industries. Investors are encouraged to visitARK’s assumptionswhich detail their assumptions on their bullish stance.\nTDOC: Telemedicine Market is Expected to Grow at More Than 20% CAGR over the Next 10 Years\nProjected Global Telemedicine market. Data Source: thebusinessresearchcompany.com (TBRC)\nFrom the chart above we could clearly see that TDOC operates within arapidly growing telemedicine market, that is expected to grow from just $49.9B in 2019 to $459.8B by 2030 in 11 years, which would represent an incredible 25.9% CAGR.\nTelemedicine’s growth had started well before COVID-19 pandemic hit that was then accelerated by the pandemic. Therefore, TDOC’s growth prospects look extremely exciting.\nInvest in ARKK or Invest in its Highest Conviction Companies?\n\nTSLA and TDOC EV / Fwd EBIT. Data source: S&P Capital IQ\nTSLA and TDOC EV / Fwd (EBITDA - CapEx). Data source: S&P Capital IQ\nGrowth investors often find themselves undecided on whether to invest in the underlying stocks directly or invest through ARKK. While we don’t think there is a simple answer to this, investors should consider the key benefits of investing in ARKK as compared to investing directly in the underlying stocks.\nWhile companies such as TSLA and TDOC have massive potential as we could see from both the charts above where their valuations are expected to drop significantly as they continued to scale up and achieve their growth targets (assuming EV remains the same though it’s unrealistic if the companies continue to execute their growth strategies well). However, the fact of the matter remains that their valuations are not cheap whether basing off EBIT or FCF (using EBITDA - CapEx as a proxy) as shown clearly above.\nTherefore, by investing in ARKK you put your money in a widely diversified ETF that’s focused on disruptive companies that are expected to be the leader in the future, although some may not end up to be. However, ARK does all the heavy lifting for investors as ARK would actively manage those holdings and would reduce or add exposures to its stocks whenever necessary.\nTherefore, we gladly hold ARKK along with some of the underlying stocks within the ETF in order to benefit from a wide range of disruptive companies that we do not intend to hold as our underlying holdings but wish to gain an exposure to, while holding on to some of ARK's highest conviction picks as our core holdings.\nPrice Action and Technical Analysis\n\nARKK has a strong uptrend bias that has been supported along the 20W moving average until it was lost during the rotation we saw between Feb and May. However, it seems like most of the inventory has already been unloaded by the weak holders as $105 looks like a strong support level that has held up well, that also coincided with the 50W moving average. We think that long term investors should not find the current price expensive even though ARKK has recovered somewhat from its May lows. The long term growth drivers remain highly attractive for its underlying stocks and investors should take advantage of the price weakness to initiate or add to ARK’s flagship ETF.\nWrapping It All Up\nARKK represents a convenient way for investors to gain exposure to companies that are expected to grow rapidly and establish themselves as the undisputed leaders in their respective industries.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":372,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":121162924,"gmtCreate":1624456915968,"gmtModify":1703837292372,"author":{"id":"4087441193034590","authorId":"4087441193034590","name":"Tita","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e7ca31e75eaf1f9b7d9dda077ae70ad3","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4087441193034590","authorIdStr":"4087441193034590"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[Happy] ","listText":"[Happy] ","text":"[Happy]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/121162924","repostId":"2145097594","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":465,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":121166137,"gmtCreate":1624456904729,"gmtModify":1703837291079,"author":{"id":"4087441193034590","authorId":"4087441193034590","name":"Tita","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e7ca31e75eaf1f9b7d9dda077ae70ad3","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4087441193034590","authorIdStr":"4087441193034590"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[Happy] ","listText":"[Happy] ","text":"[Happy]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/121166137","repostId":"2145097594","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2145097594","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com brings you the latest news from around the world, covering breaking news in markets, business, politics, entertainment and technology","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Reuters","id":"1036604489","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/443ce19704621c837795676028cec868"},"pubTimestamp":1624455900,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2145097594?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-23 21:45","market":"us","language":"en","title":"U.S. Federal Reserve to relaunch \"Fed Listens\" events around pandemic recovery","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2145097594","media":"Reuters","summary":"WASHINGTON, June 23 (Reuters) - The U.S. Federal Reserve announced Wednesday it was relaunching its ","content":"
WASHINGTON, June 23 (Reuters) - The U.S. Federal Reserve announced Wednesday it was relaunching its \"Fed Listens\" series of community discussions focused on the economic recovery from the pandemic.
\n
The Fed held a nationwide series of public forums as it debated how to retool its approach to monetary policy through 2019, leading to announcement of a new strategic framework last year.
\n
The Fed said in a released statement it now aims \"to learn from a broad range of individuals, households, and communities about the economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.\"
\n
In the statement Fed Gov. It should have the biggest impact at the end of December, since more investors look at their portfolio holdings in early January than in any other month of the year.
