jumped to its highest level in nearly three years on Monday after talks between OPEC and its oil-producing allies werepostponed indefinitely, with the group failing to reach an agreement on production policy for August and beyond.\nWest Texas Intermediate crude futures, the U.S. oil benchmark, advanced 1.56%, or $1.17, to $76.33 per barrel, its highest level since October 2018. International benchmarkBrent cruderose 1.2%, or 93 cents, to $77.10 per barrel.\nDiscussions beganlast weekbetween OPEC and its allies, known as OPEC+, as the energy alliance sought to establish output policy for the remainder of the year. The group on Friday voted on a proposal that would have returned 400,000 barrels per day to the market each month from August through December, resulting in an additional 2 million barrels per day by the end of the year. Members also proposed extending the output cuts through the end of 2022.\nThe United Arab Emirates rejected these proposals, however, and talks stretched from Thursday to Friday as the group tried to reach a consensus. Initially, discussions were set to resume on Monday but were ultimately called off.\n“The date of the next meeting will be decided in due course,” OPEC Secretary General Mohammad Barkindo said in a statement.\nOPEC+ took historic measures in April 2020 and removed nearly 10 million barrels per day of production in an effort to support prices as demand for petroleum-products plummeted. Since then, the group has been slowly returning barrels to the market, while meeting on a near monthly basis to discuss output policy.\n“For us, it wasn’t a good deal,” UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Al Mazroueitold CNBC on Sunday. He added that the country would support a short-term increase in supply, but wants better terms if the policy is to be extended through 2022.\nOil’s blistering rally this year — WTI has gained 57% during 2021 — meant that ahead of last week’s meeting many Wall Street analysts expected the group to boost production in an effort to curb the spike in prices.\n“With no increase in production, the forthcoming growth in demand should see global energy markets tighten up at an even faster pace than anticipated,” analysts at TD Securities wrote in a note to clients.\n“This impasse will lead to a temporary and significantly larger-than-anticipated deficit, which should fuel even higher prices for the time being. The summer breakout in oil prices is set to gather steam at a fast clip,” the firm added.\n— CNBC’s Sam Meredith contributed reporting.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":343,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":172363105,"gmtCreate":1626937151307,"gmtModify":1703480910435,"author":{"id":"4087536816869760","authorId":"4087536816869760","name":"NPL_Buttons","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4087536816869760","authorIdStr":"4087536816869760"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"hi//@NPL_Buttons:Hi","listText":"hi//@NPL_Buttons:Hi","text":"hi//@NPL_Buttons:Hi","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":10,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/172363105","repostId":"1190430616","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1190430616","pubTimestamp":1625528334,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1190430616?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-07-06 07:38","market":"us","language":"en","title":"OIL AND GAS Oil prices jump to multiyear highs after OPEC+ talks yield no production deal","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1190430616","media":"CNBC","summary":"Oil jumped to its highest level in nearly three years on Monday after talks between OPEC and its oil","content":"
\n
Oil jumped to its highest level in nearly three years on Monday after talks between OPEC and its oil-producing allies werepostponed indefinitely, with the group failing to reach an agreement on ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n","source":"cnbc_highlight","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; International benchmarkBrent cruderose 1.2%, or 93 cents, to $77.10 per barrel.\nDiscussions beganlast weekbetween OPEC and its allies, known as OPEC+, as the energy alliance sought to establish output policy for the remainder of the year. Initially, discussions were set to resume on Monday but were ultimately called off.\n“The date of the next meeting will be decided in due course,” OPEC Secretary General Mohammad Barkindo said in a statement.\nOPEC+ took historic measures in April 2020 and removed nearly 10 million barrels per day of production in an effort to support prices as demand for petroleum-products plummeted. for th","content":"
As stock markets continue setting records, fallout from COVID-19 continues to create problems for the economy.
\n
That clash has worried investing experts, including Suze Orman, who's gone so far as to say she’s now preparing for an inevitable market crash.
\n
And a famous measurement popularized by Warren Buffett — known as the Buffett Indicator — shows Orman might be onto something.
\n
Here’s an explanation of where the concern is coming from and some techniques you can use tokeep your investment portfolio growingeven if the market goes south.
\n
What does Suze Orman think?
\n
Mediapunch/Shutterstock
\n
Suze Orman has avidly watched the market for decades. She knows ups and downs are to be expected, but what she’s seeing happen with investment fads like GameStop has her concerned.
\n
“I don’t like what I see happening in the market right now,” Orman said in a video for CNBC. “The economy has been horrible, but the stock market has been going.”
\n
While investing is as easy now asusing a smartphone app, Orman is concerned about where we can go from these record highs.
\n
And even with stimulus checks, which are still going out, and the real estate market breaking its own records last year, Orman worries about what will come with the coronavirus — especially as new variants continue to pop up.
\n
What's more, she feels it’s just been too long since the last crash to stay this high much longer.
\n
“This reminds me of 2000 all over again,” Orman says.
\n
The Buffett Indicator
\n
Larry W Smith/EPA/Shutterstock
\n
One metric Warren Buffett uses to assess the market so regularly that it’s been named after him has been flashing red for long enough that market watchers are starting to wonder if it’s an outdated tool.
\n
But the Buffett Indicator, a measurement of the ratio of the stock market’s total value against U.S. economic output, continues to climb to previously unseen levels.
\n
And those in the know are wondering if it's a sign that we’re about to see a hard fall.
\n
How to prepare for a crashFreedomz / Shutterstock
\n
Orman has three recommendations for setting up a simple investment strategy to help you successfully navigate any sharp turns in the market.
\n
1. Buy low
\n
Part of what upsets Orman so much about the furor over meme stocks like GameStop is it goes completely against the average investor’s interests.
\n
“All of you have your heads screwed on backwards,” she says. “All you want is for these markets to go up and up and up. What good is that going to do you?”
\n
She points out the only extra money most people have goes towardinvesting for retirementin their 401(k) or IRA plans.
\n
Because you probably don’t plan to touch that money for decades, the best long-term strategy is to buy low. That way, your dollar will go much further now, leaving plenty of room for growth over the next 20, 30 or 40 years.
\n
2. Invest on a schedule
\n
katjen / Shutterstock
\n
While she prefers to buy low, Orman doesn’t recommend you stop investing completely when the market goes up.
\n
She wants casual investors to not get caught up in the daily ups and downs of the market.
\n
In fact, cheering for downturns now may be your best bet at getting a larger piece of very profitable investments — like some lucky investors were able to do back in 2007 and 2008.
\n
“When the market went down, down, down you could buy things at nothing,” says Orman. “And now look at them 15 years later.”
\n
She suggests you set up a dollar-cost averaging strategy, which means you invest your money in equal portions at regular intervals, regardless of the market’s fluctuations.
\n
This kind of approach is easy to implement with any of the many investing apps currently available to DIY investors.
\n
There are even apps that willautomatically invest your spare changeby rounding up your debit and credit card purchases to the nearest dollar.
\n
3. Diversify with fractional shares
\n
To help weather dips in specific corners of the market, Orman suggests you diversify your investments — balance your portfolio with investments in many different types of assets and sectors of the economy.
\n
Orman particularly recommends fractional-share investing. This approach allows you to buy a slice of a share for a big-name company that you otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford.
\n
With the help of apopular stock-trading tool, anyone at any budget can afford the fractional share strategy.
\n
“The sooner you begin, the more money you will have,” says Orman. “Just don’t stop, and when these markets go down, you should be so happy because your dollars find more shares.”
\n
“And the more shares you have, the more money you’ll have 20, 40, 50 years from now.”
\n
What else you can do
\n
goodluz / Shutterstock
\n
Whether or not a big crash is around the corner, investors who are still decades out from retirement can make that work for them, Orman said in theCNBC video.
\n
First, prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Since the onset of the pandemic, Orman now recommends everyone have an emergency fund that can cover their expenses for a full year.
\n
Then, to set yourself up fora comfortable retirement, she suggests you opt for a Roth account, whether that’s a 401(k) or IRA.
\n
That will help you avoid paying tax when you take money out of your retirement account because your contributions to a Roth account are made after tax. Traditional IRAs, on the other hand, aren’t taxed when you make contributions, so you’ll end up paying later.
\n
If you find you need a little more guidance, working with aprofessional financial adviser, can help point you in the right direction so you can confidently ride out any market volatility.
\n
While everyone else is veering off course or overcorrecting, you’ll be firmly in the driver’s seat with your sunset years planned for.
","source":"lsy1621813427262","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; She knows ups and downs are to be expected, but what she’s seeing happen with investment fads like GameStop has her concerned.\n“I don’t like what I see happening in the market right now,” Orman said in a video for CNBC. “The economy has been horrible, but the stock market has been going.”\nWhile investing is as easy now asusing a smartphone app, Orman is concerned about where we can go from these record highs.\nAnd even with stimulus checks, which are still going out, and the real estate market breaking its own records last year, Orman worries about what will come with the coronavirus — especially as new variants continue to pop up.\nWhat's more, she feels it’s just been too long since the last crash to stay this high much longer.\n“This reminds me of 2000 all over again,” Orman says.\nThe Buffett Indicator\nLarry W Smith/EPA/Shutterstock\nOne metric Warren Buffett uses to assess the market so regularly that it’s been named after him has been flashing red for long enough that market watchers are starting to wonder if it’s an outdated tool.\nBut the Buffett Indicator, a measurement of the ratio of the stock market’s total value against U.S. economic output, continues to climb to previously unseen levels.\nAnd those in the know are wondering if it's a sign that we’re about to see a hard fall.\nHow to prepare for a crashFreedomz / Shutterstock\nOrman has three recommendations for setting up a simple investment strategy to help you successfully navigate any sharp turns in the market.\n1. Buy low\nPart of what upsets Orman so much about the furor over meme stocks like GameStop is it goes completely against the average investor’s interests.\n“All of you have your heads screwed on backwards,” she says. “All you want is for these markets to go up and up and up. What good is that going to do you?”\nShe points out the only extra money most people have goes towardinvesting for retirementin their 401(k) or IRA plans.\nBecause you probably don’t plan to touch that money for decades, the best long-term strategy is to buy low. That way, your dollar will go much further now, leaving plenty of room for growth over the next 20, 30 or 40 years.\n2. Invest on a schedule\nkatjen / Shutterstock\nWhile she prefers to buy low, Orman doesn’t recommend you stop investing completely when the market goes up.\nShe wants casual investors to not get caught up in the daily ups and downs of the market.\nIn fact, cheering for downturns now may be your best bet at getting a larger piece of very profitable investments — like some lucky investors were able to do back in 2007 and 2008.\n“When the market went down, down, down you could buy things at nothing,” says Orman. “And now look at them 15 years later.”\nShe suggests you set up a dollar-cost averaging strategy, which means you invest your money in equal portions at regular intervals, regardless of the market’s fluctuations.\nThis kind of approach is easy to implement with any of the many investing apps currently available to DIY investors.\nThere are even apps that willautomatically invest your spare changeby rounding up your debit and credit card purchases to the nearest dollar.\n3. Diversify with fractional shares\nTo help weather dips in specific corners of the market, Orman suggests you diversify your investments — balance your portfolio with investments in many different types of assets and sectors of the economy.\nOrman particularly recommends fractional-share investing. This approach allows you to buy a slice of a share for a big-name company that you otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford.\nWith the help of apopular stock-trading tool, anyone at any budget can afford the fractional share strategy.\n“The sooner you begin, the more money you will have,” says Orman. “Just don’t stop, and when these markets go down, you should be so happy because your dollars find more shares.”\n“And the more shares you have, the more money you’ll have 20, 40, 50 years from now.”\nWhat else you can do\ngoodluz / Shutterstock\nWhether or not a big crash is around the corner, investors who are still decades out from retirement can make that work for them, Orman said in theCNBC video.\nFirst, prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Since the onset of the pandemic, Orman now recommends everyone have an emergency fund that can cover their expenses for a full year.\nThen, to set yourself up fora comfortable retirement, she suggests you opt for a Roth account, whether that’s a 401(k) or IRA.\nThat will help you avoid paying tax when you take money out of your retirement account because your contributions to a Roth account are made after tax. Traditional IRAs, on the other hand, aren’t taxed when you make contributions, so you’ll end up paying later.\nIf you find you need a little more guidance, working with aprofessional financial adviser, can help point you in the right direction so you can confidently ride out any market volatility.\nWhile everyone else is veering off course or overcorrecting, you’ll be firmly in the driver’s seat with your sunset years planned for.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":376,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":152716242,"gmtCreate":1625356404186,"gmtModify":1703740588185,"author":{"id":"4087536816869760","authorId":"4087536816869760","name":"NPL_Buttons","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4087536816869760","authorIdStr":"4087536816869760"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"When to buy","listText":"When to buy","text":"When to buy","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/f98cbd5dead7382eb833de187b90cc2c","width":"1440","height":"3644"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/152716242","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":304,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":151480486,"gmtCreate":1625102259345,"gmtModify":1703736143863,"author":{"id":"4087536816869760","authorId":"4087536816869760","name":"NPL_Buttons","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4087536816869760","authorIdStr":"4087536816869760"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"This is","listText":"This is","text":"This is","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/151480486","repostId":"2148381779","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2148381779","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Dow Jones publishes the world’s most trusted business news and financial information in a variety of media.","home_visible":0,"media_name":"Dow Jones","id":"106","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/150f88aa4d182df19190059f4a365e99"},"pubTimestamp":1625100600,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2148381779?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-07-01 08:50","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Xometry shares soar 57% in trading debut","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2148381779","media":"Dow Jones","summary":"MW Xometry shares soar 57% in trading debut\nXometry Inc. shares $(XMTR)$ soared 57% in their trading","content":"
MW Xometry shares soar 57% in trading debut
\n
Xometry Inc. shares $(XMTR)$ soared 57% in their trading debut Wednesday, after the AI-driven marketplace for on-demand manufacturing's initial public offering priced at $44 a share, above its proposed price range of $38 to $42. Spokespeople for the firms declined to comment.
\n
The moves, which were both reported earlier by the TheStreet.com, come as a growing number of marquee hedge funds have begun to dabble in digital assets. Point72 rival Millennium Management has been active in crypto-related futures and exchange-traded funds, while Brevan Howard Asset Management and macro trader Paul Tudor Jones have begun investing in crypto. In March, hedge fund manager Dan Loeb said he was doing a “deep dive” into crypto.
\n
The decision by Point72 follows an announcement to investors that the $22 billion firm was exploring investing in the sector either through its flagship hedge fund or its private investment unit. It wasn’t immediately clear what the new crypto position would entail.
\n
“We are exploring opportunities around blockchain technology and its transformative and disruptive capabilities,” Point72 said in a May letter to investors seen by Bloomberg. “We would be remiss to ignore a now $2 trillion crypto currency market.”
\n
Meanwhile, dedicated cryptocurrency firms say they’re struggling to find the right candidates to fill hundreds of positions. A frenzy of interest in digital currencies and other assets have pitted those shops against some of the world’s biggest financial institutions, with Goldman Sachs Group Inc., Bank of New York Mellon Corp. and DBS Group Holdings Ltd. starting to offer services and trading.
\n
While the space is volatile, suffering a steep rout in May, the total market value of cryptocurrencies now stands at about $1.4 trillion, according to CoinGecko.
\n
Dawn Fitzpatrick, who oversees Soros Fund Management, approved traders to begin positioning in Bitcoin in recent weeks, the person said. Bloomberg first reported in 2018 that the firm was preparing to invest in cryptocurrencies but hadn’t yet put on a wager. Spokespeople for the firms declined to comment.\nThe moves, which were both reported earlier by the TheStreet.com, come as a growing number of marquee hedge funds have begun to dabble in digital assets. Point72 rival Millennium Management has been active in crypto-related futures and exchange-traded funds, while Brevan Howard Asset Management and macro trader Paul Tudor Jones have begun investing in crypto. In March, hedge fund manager Dan Loeb said he was doing a “deep dive” into crypto.\nThe decision by Point72 follows an announcement to investors that the $22 billion firm was exploring investing in the sector either through its flagship hedge fund or its private investment unit. It wasn’t immediately clear what the new crypto position would entail.\n“We are exploring opportunities around blockchain technology and its transformative and disruptive capabilities,” Point72 said in a May letter to investors seen by Bloomberg. “We would be remiss to ignore a now $2 trillion crypto currency market.”\nMeanwhile, dedicated cryptocurrency firms say they’re struggling to find the right candidates to fill hundreds of positions. A frenzy of interest in digital currencies and other assets have pitted those shops against some of the world’s biggest financial institutions, with Goldman Sachs Group Inc., Bank of New York Mellon Corp. and DBS Group Holdings Ltd. starting to offer services and trading.\nWhile the space is volatile, suffering a steep rout in May, the total market value of cryptocurrencies now stands at about $1.4 trillion, according to CoinGecko.\nDawn Fitzpatrick, who oversees Soros Fund Management, approved traders to begin positioning in Bitcoin in recent weeks, the person said. Bloomberg first reported in 2018 that the firm was preparing to invest in cryptocurrencies but hadn’t yet put on a wager. At the time, Fitzpatrick had given macro-investing head Adam Fisher the green-light to trade virtual coins. Fisher left the firm in early 2019.\nIn a March interview with Bloomberg Television’s Erik Schatzker, Fitzpatrick said that Bitcoin was interesting and that the firm had been making investments into crypto infrastructure, such as exchanges, asset managers and custodians.\n“There’s a real fear of debasing fiat currencies” that’s driving demand for crypto, Fitzpatrick said in the interview. “Bitcoin, I don’t think it’s a currency -- I think it’s a commodity” that’s easily stored and transferable, with a finite supply. Not only the company will struggle to return to the pre-pandemic levels anytime soon, but there’s also a risk that Airbnb could face a reputational crisis, which will negatively affect its share price in the future. Considering this and the fact that Airbnb already trades at nearly 17 times its sales, we believe that it’s better to avoid it at the current stage.
\n
Lots of Challenges Ahead
\n
Founded in 2008 by students B. Chesky, J. Gebbia, and N. Blecharczyk, Airbnb has grown from couch-surfing service to one of the biggest hospitality companies in the world with 5.6 million listings and a market value of ~$90 billion. The company’s stock has appreciated by over 100% since it went public in December 2020 but in recent months Airbnb’s shares have declined by almost 40% since their peak and currently trade around ~$150 per share. Despite this, Airbnb’s stock still had a better performance than the S&P 500 Index in the last few quarters, and at the current market capitalization the company is valued higher than Marriott International (MAR), Hilton Worldwide (HLT), and Hyatt Hotels (H) combined.
\n
Chart: Seeking Alpha
\n
While the stock had performed relatively well for those who managed to purchase Airbnb right after its IPO, the company’s financials show that its business is still far away from recovering to the pre-pandemic levels. While Airbnb’s management tried to minimize its losses to weather the pandemic by decreasing costs of revenues and optimizing the headcount last year, its R&D expenses were still significantly up Y/Y.
\n
In addition, in Q1 alone Airbnb reported $1.17 billion in losses, as its major markets haven’t fully opened during the three months, while some countries even tightened movement restrictions, which led to the poor performance of the bottom line. On top of that, Airbnb also spent $377 million on debt repayment, $292 million in connection with the load agreement warrants, $113 million on operating lease assets and office space improvements, and $229 million on its stock-based compensation program.
\n
On top of that, Airbnb has also reported a negative EBITDA of -$59 million in Q1, while its net operating margin fell to an unprecedented negative value. With such poor results, it’s safe to assume that it will take at least a couple of years for Airbnb’s business to return to its pre-COVID-19 levels.
\n
Another downside of Airbnb is that it seems that it’s not gaining any market share in a post-pandemic world. As travel restrictions are lifted, Americans are looking to travel again and are already preparing for summer vacations. However, according to Statista’s survey, the most popular option of booking accommodations in 2021 is through the accommodation's own website rather than through Airbnb or Booking (BKNG). On top of that, with such a variety of choices and services, it will be significantly harder for Airbnb to outperform its more popular peers due to the lack of a pricing advantage.
\n
Source: Statista
\n
What’s worse about Airbnb is that according to Bloomberg, the company is paying its clients, who are becoming victims of various crimes inside the booked apartments, millions of dollars for their silence. Bloomberg even found out that the company has a secret department with a budget of over $50 million, whose employees always try to resolve all incidents before they enter a public domain and before the press is involved, in order to keep its reputation intact.
\n
As a result, hundreds of stories remain unreported, as the company pays to offended clients in exchange for a non-disclosure agreement. By doing so, Airbnb tries to hide facts about unsafe stays in rented apartments and various cases of violence. While so far, this helped Airbnb to avoid a major reputational crisis, it shows that the company’s business model has some major flaws, as it rests on the idea that strangers can trust one another.
\n
As the company grows further and the number of available listings increases every day, there’s a risk that there might be a situation where Airbnb won’t be able to silence some of its offended clients and as a result, it will face a reputational crisis, which will negatively affect its stock.
\n
Considering all of this, we believe that Airbnb is a risky stock to own, especially since it trades at nearly 17 times its sales. Not only the company will struggle to return to the pre-pandemic levels anytime soon, but there’s also a risk that Airbnb could face a reputational crisis, which will negatively affect its share price in the future. Considering this and the fact that Airbnb already trades at nearly 17 times its sales, we believe that it’s better to avoid it at the current stage.\nLots of Challenges Ahead\nFounded in 2008 by students B. Despite this, Airbnb’s stock still had a better performance than the S&P 500 Index in the last few quarters, and at the current market capitalization the company is valued higher than Marriott International (MAR), Hilton Worldwide (HLT), and Hyatt Hotels (H) combined.\nChart: Seeking Alpha\nWhile the stock had performed relatively well for those who managed to purchase Airbnb right after its IPO, the company’s financials show that its business is still far away from recovering to the pre-pandemic levels. While Airbnb’s management tried to minimize its losses to weather the pandemic by decreasing costs of revenues and optimizing the headcount last year, its R&D expenses were still significantly up Y/Y.\nIn addition, in Q1 alone Airbnb reported $1.17 billion in losses, as its major markets haven’t fully opened during the three months, while some countries even tightened movement restrictions, which led to the poor performance of the bottom line. On top of that, Airbnb also spent $377 million on debt repayment, $292 million in connection with the load agreement warrants, $113 million on operating lease assets and office space improvements, and $229 million on its stock-based compensation program.\nOn top of that, Airbnb has also reported a negative EBITDA of -$59 million in Q1, while its net operating margin fell to an unprecedented negative value. With such poor results, it’s safe to assume that it will take at least a couple of years for Airbnb’s business to return to its pre-COVID-19 levels.\nAnother downside of Airbnb is that it seems that it’s not gaining any market share in a post-pandemic world. As travel restrictions are lifted, Americans are looking to travel again and are already preparing for summer vacations. However, according to Statista’s survey, the most popular option of booking accommodations in 2021 is through the accommodation's own website rather than through Airbnb or Booking (BKNG). On top of that, with such a variety of choices and services, it will be significantly harder for Airbnb to outperform its more popular peers due to the lack of a pricing advantage.\nSource: Statista\nWhat’s worse about Airbnb is that according to Bloomberg, the company is paying its clients, who are becoming victims of various crimes inside the booked apartments, millions of dollars for their silence. Bloomberg even found out that the company has a secret department with a budget of over $50 million, whose employees always try to resolve all incidents before they enter a public domain and before the press is involved, in order to keep its reputation intact.\nAs a result, hundreds of stories remain unreported, as the company pays to offended clients in exchange for a non-disclosure agreement. By doing so, Airbnb tries to hide facts about unsafe stays in rented apartments and various cases of violence. While so far, this helped Airbnb to avoid a major reputational crisis, it shows that the company’s business model has some major flaws, as it rests on the idea that strangers can trust one another.\nAs the company grows further and the number of available listings increases every day, there’s a risk that there might be a situation where Airbnb won’t be able to silence some of its offended clients and as a result, it will face a reputational crisis, which will negatively affect its stock.\nConsidering all of this, we believe that Airbnb is a risky stock to own, especially since it trades at nearly 17 times its sales. The decline in its shares from the peak a couple of months ago shows that the momentum is slowly fading away and we don’t see a potential for a stock to trade higher from the current levels in the long run anytime soon. In addition, the possible reputational crisis along with the risk of further lockdowns in Europe due to the spread of the Delta variant of COVID-19 also outweighs the opportunities of owning the company. For that reason, we believe that it’s better to avoid Airbnb at the current levels, as the company faces numerous challenges that will make it even harder for it to recover to its pre-pandemic levels anytime soon.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":125,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"hots":[{"id":154707015,"gmtCreate":1625543455037,"gmtModify":1703743390398,"author":{"id":"4087536816869760","authorId":"4087536816869760","name":"NPL_Buttons","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4087536816869760","idStr":"4087536816869760"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Hi","listText":"Hi","text":"Hi","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":14,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/154707015","repostId":"1190430616","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1190430616","pubTimestamp":1625528334,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1190430616?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-07-06 07:38","market":"us","language":"en","title":"OIL AND GAS Oil prices jump to multiyear highs after OPEC+ talks yield no production deal","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1190430616","media":"CNBC","summary":"Oil jumped to its highest level in nearly three years on Monday after talks between OPEC and its oil","content":"
The summer breakout in oil prices is set to gather steam at a fast clip,” the firm added.\n— CNBC’s Sam Meredith contributed reporting.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":353,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":172363105,"gmtCreate":1626937151307,"gmtModify":1703480910435,"author":{"id":"4087536816869760","authorId":"4087536816869760","name":"NPL_Buttons","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4087536816869760","idStr":"4087536816869760"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"hi//@NPL_Buttons:Hi","listText":"hi//@NPL_Buttons:Hi","text":"hi//@NPL_Buttons:Hi","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":10,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/172363105","repostId":"1190430616","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1190430616","pubTimestamp":1625528334,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1190430616?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-07-06 07:38","market":"us","language":"en","title":"OIL AND GAS Oil prices jump to multiyear highs after OPEC+ talks yield no production deal","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1190430616","media":"CNBC","summary":"Oil jumped to its highest level in nearly three years on Monday after talks between OPEC and its oil","content":"
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; The group on Friday voted on a proposal that would have returned 400,000 barrels per day to the market each month from August through December, resulting in an additional 2 million barrels per day by the end of the year. She declined to say whether she owned any Bitcoin.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":325,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":152712164,"gmtCreate":1625356437358,"gmtModify":1703740588838,"author":{"id":"4087536816869760","authorId":"4087536816869760","name":"NPL_Buttons","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4087536816869760","idStr":"4087536816869760"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Hi","listText":"Hi","text":"Hi","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/152712164","repostId":"1188153141","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":376,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":159613145,"gmtCreate":1624961553787,"gmtModify":1703848890745,"author":{"id":"4087536816869760","authorId":"4087536816869760","name":"NPL_Buttons","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4087536816869760","idStr":"4087536816869760"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Hi","listText":"Hi","text":"Hi","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/159613145","repostId":"1106703008","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1106703008","pubTimestamp":1624959064,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1106703008?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-06-29 17:31","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Airbnb: Not A Lot Of Upside At This Stage","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1106703008","media":"seekingalpha","summary":"Summary\n\nWe believe that the upside of owning Airbnb shares is fairly limited.\nThere’s a risk that A","content":"
Summary
\n
\n
We believe that the upside of owning Airbnb shares is fairly limited.
\n
There’s a risk that Airbnb could face a reputational crisis, which will negatively affect its share price in the future.
\n
Considering that Airbnb already trades at nearly 17 times its sales, we believe that it’s better to avoid it at the current stage.
\n
Looking for a helping hand in the market?
