There’s a chill against large transactions at the moment in Washington, where technology companies are being probed by regulators for their reach and influence and the Federal Trade Commission recently sued to block an acquisition by Nvidia Corp.

“The deal better be worth the headache for the company because they’re going to be scrutinized on whatever they buy,” said Anurag Rana, a senior analyst at Bloomberg Intelligence, in an interview Sunday.

Peloton is evaluating interest from potential suitors and is working with an adviser to explore options, according to people familiar with the matter who asked not to be identified because discussions are private. The takeover interest in the New York-based maker of exercise bikes and treadmills is exploratory and may not lead to a transaction, they said.

The companies said to be taking a look at Peloton -- whether for an acquisition, an investor or some other kind of tie-up -- include some of the biggest names in technology and fitness. Amazon.com Inc. has spoken with advisers about a potential deal, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday. Analysts have also speculated that Apple Inc. could lurk as a potential buyer. Nike Inc. is also considering a separate bid for Peloton, according to the Financial Times.

Peloton didn’t immediately respond to an email seeking comment. Amazon, Nike and Apple declined to comment.

Share Decline

Peloton’s shares have dropped more than 80% from their January 2021 high amid a slowdown following the loosening of pandemic restrictions. It’s a very different landscape than the early days of the pandemic, when demand for the company’s products exceeded supply.

The company is currently valued at just over $8 billion, based on Friday’s official market close of $24.60 -- below its September 2019 initial public offering price of $29. The shares surged as much as 43% in extended trading Friday after the Journal report.

Activist investor Blackwells Capital LLC last month issued a letter demanding the company fire co-founder and Chief Executive Officer John Foley and pursue a sale. Amazon, Nike reported as suitorsHigher regulatory scrutiny is one potential drawback for dealsPeloton stationary bicycles displayed at a showroom on Madison Avenue in NewPeloton Interactive Inc. -- the early pandemic home-fitness darling that’s become a potential takeover target following a sharp plunge in its stock price -- could find a challenging climate if it opts for a deal with a big-technology firm. One key consideration is regulatory scrutiny. There’s a chill against large transactions at the moment in Washington, where technology companies are being probed by regulators for their reach and influence and the Federal Trade Commission recently sued to block an acquisition by Nvidia Corp.“The deal better be worth the headache for the company because they’re going to be scrutinized on whatever they buy,” said Anurag Rana, a senior analyst at Bloomberg Intelligence, in an interview Sunday.Peloton is evaluating interest from potential suitors and is working with an adviser to explore options, according to people familiar with the matter who asked not to be identified because discussions are private. Nike Inc. is also considering a separate bid for Peloton, according to the Financial Times.Peloton didn’t immediately respond to an email seeking comment. Amazon, Nike and Apple declined to comment.Share DeclinePeloton’s shares have dropped more than 80% from their January 2021 high amid a slowdown following the loosening of pandemic restrictions. It’s a very different landscape than the early days of the pandemic, when demand for the company’s products exceeded supply. The company is currently valued at just over $8 billion, based on Friday’s official market close of $24.60 -- below its September 2019 initial public offering price of $29. The shares surged as much as 43% in extended trading Friday after the Journal report.Activist investor Blackwells Capital LLC last month issued a letter demanding the company fire co-founder and Chief Executive Officer John Foley and pursue a sale. Market corrections are par for the course when investing in stocks, but that same history shows these downturns lay the foundation for great returns afterward.
\n
If you've been thinking about buying shares of a video game stock, the next market pullback would be a great buying opportunity. Activision Blizzard (NASDAQ:ATVI), Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:EA), and Tencent (OTC:TCEHY) are cash-rich leaders in the burgeoning video game industry that can deliver market-beating returns over the long term. Let's find out a bit more about these three stocks.
\n
\n
1. Activision Blizzard
\n
Activision Blizzard owns eight franchises that have achieved at least $1 billion in lifetime bookings. It's best known for making one of the most-played first-person shooters on the market in Call of Duty. A $1,000 investment in Activision stock in 2003, right after the first Call of Duty title was released, would be worth nearly $30,000 today.
\n
The Call of Duty franchise continues to grow. It's included in the company's Activision segment, which reached a record 150 million monthly active users (MAUs) in the first quarter. With seven other major franchises under its umbrella, Activision Blizzard sees an opportunity to improve those titles to more than double its MAUs to 1 billion.
\n
Making big-budget video game titles does require investing in thousands of employees and can involve significant marketing expenses, but many other aspects of production are not as capital intensive when compared to other industries. This allows top game companies that can sell millions of copies of new releases to produce robust amounts of free cash flow. Over the past four quarters, Activision Blizzard generated $2.8 billion in free cash flow on $8.5 billion in revenue.
\n
It pays out less than a fifth of that free cash flow in dividends, bringing the current dividend yield to 0.52%. There's clearly potential for Activision to safely double or triple that yield by increasing the payout ratio over time.
\n
Activision Blizzard owns several franchises that each have a built-in base of millions of fans, including World of Warcraft, Diablo, and Overwatch. The company is well stocked with cash, with $9.3 billion on the balance sheet, which should provide plenty of capital to continue reinvesting for growth.
\n
2. Electronic Arts
\n
Electronic Arts is known for its EA Sports titles, most notably Madden and FIFA. EA added 42 million new players to its network during the pandemic. It has a total of 230 million players and viewers, but management is targeting 500 million over the next five years.
\n
Most importantly, EA has demonstrated the ability to bring out new hits. The free-to-play shooter Apex Legends launched in 2019 and recently surpassed $1 billion in bookings. EA also revealed plans earlier this year to relaunch its previous NCAA Football franchise under the new title EA Sports College Football, which should be released within the next few years.
\n
EA's success in growing its sports business in recent years has left it with lots of cash to reinvest. It entered fiscal 2022 with $6.3 billion of cash and investments and has already put that to work. So far this year, EA has spent a combined $4.7 billion to buy Glu Mobile, Codemasters, and Playdemic. These studios bring their own game development prowess and popular titles to accelerate EA's expansion into mobile.
\n
In fiscal 2021, EA's free cash flow came to $1.8 billion on $5.6 billion of revenue. EA started paying a dividend within the last year, which signals management's confidence in its growth strategy. The quarterly dividend amounts to $0.17 per share, bringing the current dividend yield to 0.48%. The company's growing sports lineup and willingness to return capital to shareholders makes it a top video game stock to consider buying.
\n
3. Tencent
\n
Tencent is the largest video game company in the world by revenue and also operates the popular WeChat social media platform in China. It owns Riot Games, the operator of one of the top esports titles in the world in League of Legends. It also has ownership stakes in several other companies, including Epic Games and Activision Blizzard.
\n
Gaming makes up 29% of its annual revenue, with online advertising, fintech, and business services composing most of the balance. But gaming is Tencent's largest business segment. It's the diversity of revenue streams across fast-growing markets, including gaming and cloud services, that make it a stock worth keeping on your radar.
\n
Over the last four quarters, Tencent generated $18.5 billion in free cash flow. It has $39 billion of dry powder on the balance sheet, in addition to a portfolio of investees that was worth over $200 billion in the first quarter. That's a lot of firepower.
\n
Tencent compares the current state of the video game industry to the movie business in the 1930s, and it's investing to maintain its leadership status. Last year, management announced a deep pipeline of 40 new titles, including internally developed and licensed games in development. It's particularly focusing on where gamers are spending more time, which is with big-budget, immersive gaming experiences.
\n
\"The development speed, scale, range, and depth of information technology is much greater than the last Industrial Revolution,\" said Senior Vice President Steven Ma. \"This brings unimaginable opportunities for games and the space is almost limitless.\"
\n
However, investors should note the risks of investing in Chinese companies. Tencent has come under scrutiny by regulators that have cracked down on \"inappropriate\" content in the company's games, but Tencent has been able to navigate through these obstacles and deliver market-beating returns to investors. The stock price has fallen recently, which can be chalked up to regulatory issues and near-term investments in the business that will pressure profitability this year. But I would look at the recent drop in share price as a buying opportunity.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
3 Best Video Game Stocks to Buy in the Next Market Crash
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n3 Best Video Game Stocks to Buy in the Next Market Crash\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-07-24 09:46 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
The bulls in the market have been stomping on the bears for more than a year, but history shows that stock prices don't move up in a straight line. These studios bring their own game development prowess and popular titles to accelerate EA's expansion into mobile.\nIn fiscal 2021, EA's free cash flow came to $1.8 billion on $5.6 billion of revenue. EA started paying a dividend within the last year, which signals management's confidence in its growth strategy. The quarterly dividend amounts to $0.17 per share, bringing the current dividend yield to 0.48%. The company's growing sports lineup and willingness to return capital to shareholders makes it a top video game stock to consider buying.\n3. Tencent\nTencent is the largest video game company in the world by revenue and also operates the popular WeChat social media platform in China. It owns Riot Games, the operator of one of the top esports titles in the world in League of Legends. It also has ownership stakes in several other companies, including Epic Games and Activision Blizzard.\nGaming makes up 29% of its annual revenue, with online advertising, fintech, and business services composing most of the balance. But gaming is Tencent's largest business segment. It's the diversity of revenue streams across fast-growing markets, including gaming and cloud services, that make it a stock worth keeping on your radar.\nOver the last four quarters, Tencent generated $18.5 billion in free cash flow. It has $39 billion of dry powder on the balance sheet, in addition to a portfolio of investees that was worth over $200 billion in the first quarter. That's a lot of firepower.\nTencent compares the current state of the video game industry to the movie business in the 1930s, and it's investing to maintain its leadership status. Last year, management announced a deep pipeline of 40 new titles, including internally developed and licensed games in development. It's particularly focusing on where gamers are spending more time, which is with big-budget, immersive gaming experiences.\n\"The development speed, scale, range, and depth of information technology is much greater than the last Industrial Revolution,\" said Senior Vice President Steven Ma. \"This brings unimaginable opportunities for games and the space is almost limitless.\"\nHowever, investors should note the risks of investing in Chinese companies. But I would look at the recent drop in share price as a buying opportunity.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1584,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[{"author":{"id":"4087557719105110","authorId":"4087557719105110","name":"csyen","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/ed7eb4ecb1a7bd9e941d5aba9b858546","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"idStr":"4087557719105110","authorIdStr":"4087557719105110"},"content":"@MewCat @ivyg2768 like","text":"@MewCat @ivyg2768 like","html":"@MewCat @ivyg2768 like"}],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":174743129,"gmtCreate":1627146053361,"gmtModify":1703484788685,"author":{"id":"4087559776333650","authorId":"4087559776333650","name":"ivyg2768","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ed8abd1654c7837e060560ffa05f2eee","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4087559776333650","authorIdStr":"4087559776333650"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Let's see ","listText":"Let's see ","text":"Let's see","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":7,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/174743129","repostId":"1109439356","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1109439356","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1627096841,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1109439356?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-07-24 11:20","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Musk Tweets That Tesla Will Share Its Charging Network. Not long ago, the talk on Wall Street was all about the tech giant’s uncharacteristically underperforming stock, especially when compared to some of the other mega-caps’ displays in 2021.\nWith shares hitting an all-time high this week and the gap in performance narrowing over the past month, that conversation can now be put to rest.\nThe uptick has coincided with reports Apple has boosted the production rate of its iPhones, instructing manufacturers to build 90 million iPhones this year, a 20% increase on the 75 million units it produced last year.\nThe renewed optimism in all things Apple is not surprising to J.P. Morgan’s Samik Chatterjee. The analyst recently told investors Apple is well set up to outperform in 2H21. In fact, the growing confidence means Chatterjee has added Apple to the firm’s Analyst Focus List as “a Growth idea.”\n“The recent momentum led by better market share, drives us to also estimate higher sustainable volumes in future quarters, leading us to see a path to Apple outperforming investor expectations over a longer time horizon rather than just the upcoming earnings print,” the 5-star analyst said, confirming Apple is also a Top Pick.\nTo reflect the increase in build rates, Chatterjee has “modestly” increased iPhone volume expectations, but of more importance to the analyst is the “path to upside” for the shares in the medium-term.\nThis is because of the potential for better iPhone 12 sales but also due to what Chatterjee considers are low expectations from the iPhone 13’s fall launch, which could create “another leg to the upside opportunity.”\nIt’s a potent mix which is given additional allure with the launch of the iPhone SE3 next year and means Apple can “not only pleasantly surprise with a more robust iPhone 13 cycle, but also has the opportunity to drive material upside to consensus expectations for FY22.”\nTo this end, Chatterjee rates Apple shares an Overweight (i.e. Buy), while slightly lifting the price target from $170 to $175. Without a cord, the earbud gets its power from a tiny cylindrical battery that has about 1% of the capacity of an iPhone’s battery.\nBut lithium-ion batteries, like those used by the AirPods, wear out the more they are used.\nSome owners have noticed that, after a few years, used AirPods eventually will last only an hour or so before needing to be recharged -- a big decay from the four-to-five-hour battery life they have when new. Because each AirPod is so small and so tightly packed into its housing, it’s almost impossible to swap out the old battery for a new one. Most people give up and just buy a new pair.\nThe limited lifespan of AirPods is exactly the kind of problem that the “right-to-repair” movement wants to fix. Repair shops and lobbyists that support repair reform want lawmakers to implement a variety of rules, including increased access to manuals and official parts and consumer protections around warranties.\nBut one of their most important requests is for companies to design products with repair in mind, instead of packing gadgets with unlabeled parts and sticking them together with glue, forcing users to use a knife to take them apart.\nThis desire puts repair advocates at odds with hardware companies like Apple, whose business models depend on customers upgrading to the latest model every few years. When Apple offered cheap iPhone battery repairs a few years ago, it hurt sales as consumers were able to hang on to their old phones for longer instead of upgrading. Apple also charges customers for repairs and extended warranties.\n“We design our products for durability in order to minimize the need for repair,” Apple wrote in an environmental report earlier this year. “But in the instance a repair is needed, we believe our customers should have convenient access to safe and reliable repair services, to get their product back up and running as quickly as possible.”\nThe right-to-repair movement gains steam\nPolicymakers have started to engage more closely with right-to-repair advocates in recent years. State-level bills have been introduced in a majority of states, but electronics companies have lobbied against them and none have passed.\nIn May, the Federal Trade Commission released a 56-page report on repair restrictions, concluding that repair restrictions have “steered consumers into manufacturers’ repair networks or to replace products before the end of their useful lives” — exactly the problem users are running into with their AirPods.\nThe Biden administration on Friday ordered the FTC to write new regulations targeted at limiting manufacturers’ ability to hamper independent or do-it-yourself repairs as part of a sweeping executive order. New repair rules have not yet been drafted.\n“Tech and other companies impose restrictions on self and third-party repairs, making repairs more costly and time-consuming, such as by restricting the distribution of parts, diagnostics, and repair tools,” the White House wrote in a fact sheet about the order on Friday, linking to a story about fixing Apple products. Apple declined to comment on the White House executive order.\nThe FTC has not said what it plans to do, but repair advocates want a few key policy changes, as detailed in its May report. They want companies to be required to make official replacement parts available. They want access to tools that could make repairs easier without reverse-engineering the tools or parts themselves. And ultimately, they want products to be designed with longer lifespans.\nApple is not the only company that would be affected by these policies. Much of the recent pressure is on medical device companies and tractor manufacturers. But given Apple’s ubiquity, it has become a poster child for repair, especially because it promotes its environmental efforts as a corporate value.\nApple has launched a program it calls the “Independent Repair Program” which gives repair shops the option to enter into a certification process and contract with Apple in order to get access to authentic Apple parts, tools and manuals.\nApple has also reduced the price of its battery replacement for iPhones, and recent models have been designed to make it easier to replace a battery or cracked screen, according to iFixit. Plus, compared to other consumer electronics companies, Apple has a large existing network of stores and authorized repair shops.\nStill, many Apple products remain challenging to repair at home or as a business with no contact with Apple.\nThe only AirPods battery replacement company\niFixit, a company that provides disassembly instructions and sells replacement parts for gadgets, gives AirPods models a score of zero out of 10 for repairability. According to iFixit, repairing these earbuds involves soldering, hot air guns and slicing through glue — that is, if replacement battery parts are even available. In the end, a would-be home repairer would have to put the four-gram computer back together again.\nApple provides “battery service” for AirPods, at the cost of $49 per earbud. But functionally, Apple simply gives you a replacement pair, and the old earbuds are recycled. It’s not a repair, it’s a replacement. And it’s expensive. AirPods originally cost $159, so opting for battery service costs more than half of the price of a new pair.\nApple sold about 72.8 million AirPods units in 2020, according to a CounterPoint research estimate, so tens of millions of consumers will face the same lack of choice in the coming years.\nPodSwap is a Miami company founded by Emma Stritzinger and Emily Alpert which aims to keep AirPods “out of the landfill.” They’re not associated with Apple.\nThey believe they’re the only company performing AirPod battery replacements, although other companies “refurbish” old AirPods, the founders told CNBC. The company was formed after the founders experienced dying AirPods themselves and thought that upgrading or replacing them would be wasteful and impractical.\nI recently replaced a pair of AirPods that were only holding a charge for 45 minutes -- too short to complete a phone call. I paid $59 on PodSwap’s Shopify site and a few days later received a replacement pair of AirPods with new batteries. They weren’t my old AirPods, they were another set that had their batteries replaced.\nAlong with those new pods, PodSwap includes a box and a return label. It wants your old AirPods back. It then cleans and sanitizes the old pair, puts in new batteries and sends them out to the next person who wants to change the battery in their old AirPods.\nBut PodSwap faces many challenges that show why repair advocates want new rules. Alpert said the design of the AirPod makes it challenging for repair shops or companies like theirs to do a lot of battery replacements. PodSwap’s process uses both robotics and manual labor, the founders said.\n“The process was developed through trial and error and a large number of units were ‘sacrificed’ and ultimately recycled. One major challenge we faced was overcoming the uniqueness of this product. Each AirPod is assembled with slight differences, which creates complexity in the disassembly,” Alpert said.\nPodSwap plans to soon offer service for the AirPods Pro, a newer model that costs $249 and are, surprisingly, powered by a standard-sized coin battery.\nBut the AirPods Pro have many of the same problems as the first model — tight tolerances, potential damage while taking them apart, a lack of replacement parts, and a design that suggests the product was always designed to last a limited time.\n“We have found the AirPods Pro’s batteries to be more difficult to replace,” Alpert said. “The ergonomic design and tight unforgiving tolerances make it exceptionally challenging to replace the batteries repeatedly, with a high degree of efficiency.”\nPodSwap wasn’t totally seamless for me — I got sent a combination of “first generation” and “second generation” AirPods. They caused my iPhone to send error messages, but I sent an email to PodSwap and a day or two later I got a second replacement set, which worked.\nAfter that, I sent my first replacement set and my old AirPods back. The AirPods I received look and work like new.\nI plan on trying to get another four years out of them.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":266,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":143985467,"gmtCreate":1625755834459,"gmtModify":1703748002431,"author":{"id":"4087559776333650","authorId":"4087559776333650","name":"ivyg2768","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ed8abd1654c7837e060560ffa05f2eee","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4087559776333650","authorIdStr":"4087559776333650"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Apple(AAPL)$steady ","listText":"$Apple(AAPL)$steady ","text":"$Apple(AAPL)$steady","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/efdb3b1f4de3b843bbf2de1d15d52997","width":"1080","height":"1920"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/143985467","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":96,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":140830637,"gmtCreate":1625644834729,"gmtModify":1703745524180,"author":{"id":"4087559776333650","authorId":"4087559776333650","name":"ivyg2768","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ed8abd1654c7837e060560ffa05f2eee","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4087559776333650","authorIdStr":"4087559776333650"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$XIAOMI-W(01810)$be good please ","listText":"$XIAOMI-W(01810)$be good please ","text":"$XIAOMI-W(01810)$be good please","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/6aac6e29c972d101cea8d2ee07da9106","width":"1080","height":"1920"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/140830637","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":318,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":140342054,"gmtCreate":1625633021378,"gmtModify":1703745335544,"author":{"id":"4087559776333650","authorId":"4087559776333650","name":"ivyg2768","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ed8abd1654c7837e060560ffa05f2eee","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4087559776333650","authorIdStr":"4087559776333650"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Okie... Welcome to Power On, a weekly newsletter where I’m going to write about my passions—Ap","content":"
Hey everyone! Welcome to Power On, a weekly newsletter where I’m going to write about my passions—Apple, new devices and Silicon Valley secrets—with the occasional riff about my non-work obsession, the NBA. This is the inaugural edition, and be warned, I’m just getting over the Lakers playoffs loss. Take a look around, let me know what you think, and send your questions via email or Twitter.
\n
The Starters
\n
Let’s get right to the point: I wrote this newsletter on an iPad Pro. That might not sound like some shocking revelation, but trust me, I had all but relegated the tablet to video watching and light gaming duties. Since this month’s release of the iPadOS 15 beta, however, I’ve left my laptop mostly behind and have done the vast majority of my work from the iPad.
\n
Now I have even stronger feelings for what Apple Inc. needs to change about the iPad—and it goes beyond software. Take a look around, let me know what you think, and send your questions via email or Twitter.\nThe Starters\nLet’s get right to the point: I wrote this newsletter on an iPad Pro. That might not sound like some shocking revelation, but trust me, I had all but relegated the tablet to video watching and light gaming duties. Since this month’s release of the iPadOS 15 beta, however, I’ve left my laptop mostly behind and have done the vast majority of my work from the iPad.\nNow I have even stronger feelings for what Apple Inc. needs to change about the iPad—and it goes beyond software. It’s time for a giant screen, one in the 14-inch to 16-inch range. I love the speed, touchscreen, versatility and Magic Keyboard, but the 12.9-inch display is far too small for someone accustomed to a 16-inch MacBook Pro.\nAnd I’m not the only one who thinks that: I’m told that Apple has engineers and designers exploring larger iPads that could hit stores a couple of years down the road at the earliest. But a big iPad would be the perfect device for many people, including me, and would continue to blur the lines between tablet and laptop.\nPhotographer: Nina Riggio/Bloomberg\nSpeaking of the iPad and Mac becoming more similar, I think Apple has absolutely moved the needle with the iPad Pro, when it comes to its software, but it still ultimately needs to allow Mac apps and Mac-like multitasking with more flexible arrangements of app windows.\nI’m liking the multitasking improvements so far in the iPad beta. The biggest change there for me is the ability to launch apps into split view from the home screen, rather than just from the dock. I’m digging the App Library, which is basically now the iPad version of Launchpad on the Mac.\nBut I’d still like the ability to have four or five easily resizable and movable windows in front of me at once like I can on my Mac. The AirPods I received look and work like new.\nI plan on trying to get another four years out of them.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":266,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":143985467,"gmtCreate":1625755834459,"gmtModify":1703748002431,"author":{"id":"4087559776333650","authorId":"4087559776333650","name":"ivyg2768","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ed8abd1654c7837e060560ffa05f2eee","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4087559776333650","authorIdStr":"4087559776333650"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Apple(AAPL)$steady ","listText":"$Apple(AAPL)$steady ","text":"$Apple(AAPL)$steady","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/efdb3b1f4de3b843bbf2de1d15d52997","width":"1080","height":"1920"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/143985467","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":96,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":154026361,"gmtCreate":1625462024853,"gmtModify":1703742193844,"author":{"id":"4087559776333650","authorId":"4087559776333650","name":"ivyg2768","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ed8abd1654c7837e060560ffa05f2eee","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4087559776333650","authorIdStr":"4087559776333650"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Apple(AAPL)$remain steady ","listText":"$Apple(AAPL)$remain steady ","text":"$Apple(AAPL)$remain steady","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/6e55958b76fbf073ec963e8eed49b77a","width":"1080","height":"1920"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/154026361","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":212,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":150012764,"gmtCreate":1624874879358,"gmtModify":1703846760275,"author":{"id":"4087559776333650","authorId":"4087559776333650","name":"ivyg2768","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ed8abd1654c7837e060560ffa05f2eee","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4087559776333650","authorIdStr":"4087559776333650"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"OK... The banking giant believes that supply and demand imbalances in the oil market will push crude prices up to $100 a barrel by next year. The bank isn't alone -- big oil executives also believe oil prices could top $100 a barrel as the global economy roars back to life amid tightening supplies.
\n
That scenario would undoubtedly be a boon for oil stocks. With that in mind, we asked some of our energy contributors what oil stocks they believe are the most compelling buys as oil prices head toward triple digits. Here's why they think Occidental Petroleum (NYSE:OXY), Marathon Oil (NYSE:MRO), and Devon Energy (NYSE:DVN) have some of the best upside potential to triple digit oil.
\n
A double boost
\n
Reuben Gregg Brewer (Occidental Petroleum): I wouldn't call Occidental Petroleum a buy and hold type of energy stock, given the self-inflicted wounds it suffered during the 2020 oil downturn. In fact, the takeover battle for Anadarko Petroleum that it won over Chevron (NYSE:CVX) bordered on the side of hubris. And it left the company ill-prepared for the pandemic-driven drop in oil demand and prices.
\n
And yet, as oil rebounds, with some suggesting that $100 a barrel is a real possibility, more aggressive investors looking for a way to play such a commodity move might still be interested. There's two reasons for this. First, as an oil driller Occidental Petroleum will clearly benefit from a big rise in this key commodity. But the bigger reason is that such an increase will make it easier for management to deal with the lingering impacts of the Anadarko deal, notably its still heavily leveraged balance sheet.
\n
OXY Debt to Equity Ratio data by YCharts
\n
So, there's the direct top- and bottom-line benefit here (which all energy companies will likely see) and the follow-on effect of an improving financial structure. Either one alone would likely get investors excited, but both together could lead to a complete reevaluation of the company's future -- for the better this time around. The Anadarko misstep should probably keep conservative investors away, but more aggressive types might view Occidental, warts and all, as something of a leveraged bet.
\n
Minting billions of dollars
\n
Neha Chamaria (Marathon Oil): Commodity prices don't just drive Marathon Oil's revenue and cash flows, but they're also the single biggest deciding factor behind the company's capital spending and capital allocation plans, which is why the ongoing rally in crude prices is great news for Marathon Oil. Importantly, crude is hitting two-year highs even as I write this, but Marathon Oil stock is still trading below its 2019 level.
\n
Consider this: Marathon expects to generate free cash flow (FCF) worth $1.1 billion this year at an average WTI crude price of $50 per barrel. At $60 a barrel, the company could generate as much as $1.6 billion in FCF! With crude having already surpassed $70 per barrel as of this writing, Marathon should therefore be able to generate even higher cash flows and use the extra cash to pay down more debt and reward shareholders with bigger returns. As of the end of the first quarter, Marathon had already repaid $500 million in debt and was targeting another $500 million debt reduction this year. It also raised its quarterly dividend by 33% in Q1.
\n
A higher oil-price environment, in fact, should set Marathon up for solid growth for years to come, considering it could generate FCF worth nearly $5 billion over the next five years at an average crude price of only $50 per barrel. And it isn't just oil prices. While flexing production as per market conditions, the company is also tightening its grip on costs, and aims to cut its production and general and administration expenses combined by nearly 30% this year versus 2019 levels. With management prioritizing the dividend and debt reduction, Marathon shareholders have a lot to look forward to as long as oil keeps rising.
\n
A monster dividend stock as oil prices keep rising
\n
Matt DiLallo (Devon Energy): Investors in Devon Energy reap immediate dividends as oil prices rise thanks to its unique variable dividend framework. The oil and gas producer plans to pay out up to half of the excess cash it generates each quarter to investors via a variable dividend. As oil prices rise, so does that payout.
\n
The company paid its first variable dividend this past March based on its fourth-quarter cash flow. It distributed 50% of its excess cash, which worked out to $0.19 per share. That was almost double its fixed quarterly dividend of $0.11 per share. The company will make its next variable payout at the end of this month. While it's only paying out 48% of its excess cash this quarter, at $0.23 per share, it's 13% above the previous quarter's rate and more than double its base quarterly rate. The banking giant believes that supply and demand imbalances in the oil market will push crude prices up to $100 a barrel by next year. The bank isn't alone -- big oil executives also believe oil prices could top $100 a barrel as the global economy roars back to life amid tightening supplies.\nThat scenario would undoubtedly be a boon for oil stocks. With that in mind, we asked some of our energy contributors what oil stocks they believe are the most compelling buys as oil prices head toward triple digits. Here's why they think Occidental Petroleum (NYSE:OXY), Marathon Oil (NYSE:MRO), and Devon Energy (NYSE:DVN) have some of the best upside potential to triple digit oil.\nA double boost\nReuben Gregg Brewer (Occidental Petroleum): I wouldn't call Occidental Petroleum a buy and hold type of energy stock, given the self-inflicted wounds it suffered during the 2020 oil downturn. In fact, the takeover battle for Anadarko Petroleum that it won over Chevron (NYSE:CVX) bordered on the side of hubris. And it left the company ill-prepared for the pandemic-driven drop in oil demand and prices.\nAnd yet, as oil rebounds, with some suggesting that $100 a barrel is a real possibility, more aggressive investors looking for a way to play such a commodity move might still be interested. There's two reasons for this. First, as an oil driller Occidental Petroleum will clearly benefit from a big rise in this key commodity. But the bigger reason is that such an increase will make it easier for management to deal with the lingering impacts of the Anadarko deal, notably its still heavily leveraged balance sheet.\nOXY Debt to Equity Ratio data by YCharts\nSo, there's the direct top- and bottom-line benefit here (which all energy companies will likely see) and the follow-on effect of an improving financial structure. Either one alone would likely get investors excited, but both together could lead to a complete reevaluation of the company's future -- for the better this time around. The Anadarko misstep should probably keep conservative investors away, but more aggressive types might view Occidental, warts and all, as something of a leveraged bet.\nMinting billions of dollars\nNeha Chamaria (Marathon Oil): Commodity prices don't just drive Marathon Oil's revenue and cash flows, but they're also the single biggest deciding factor behind the company's capital spending and capital allocation plans, which is why the ongoing rally in crude prices is great news for Marathon Oil. Importantly, crude is hitting two-year highs even as I write this, but Marathon Oil stock is still trading below its 2019 level.\nConsider this: Marathon expects to generate free cash flow (FCF) worth $1.1 billion this year at an average WTI crude price of $50 per barrel. It also raised its quarterly dividend by 33% in Q1.\nA higher oil-price environment, in fact, should set Marathon up for solid growth for years to come, considering it could generate FCF worth nearly $5 billion over the next five years at an average crude price of only $50 per barrel. And it isn't just oil prices. While flexing production as per market conditions, the company is also tightening its grip on costs, and aims to cut its production and general and administration expenses combined by nearly 30% this year versus 2019 levels. With management prioritizing the dividend and debt reduction, Marathon shareholders have a lot to look forward to as long as oil keeps rising.\nA monster dividend stock as oil prices keep rising\nMatt DiLallo (Devon Energy): Investors in Devon Energy reap immediate dividends as oil prices rise thanks to its unique variable dividend framework. The oil and gas producer plans to pay out up to half of the excess cash it generates each quarter to investors via a variable dividend. As oil prices rise, so does that payout.\nThe company paid its first variable dividend this past March based on its fourth-quarter cash flow. Driving that increase was the improvement in oil prices from an average of $42.65 a barrel in the fourth quarter to $57.87 in the first quarter. \nWith oil prices continuing to rise -- they're close to $75 a barrel right now -- Devon's variable dividend payments should grow even bigger. If oil does indeed hit triple digits again, Devon could pay a monster variable dividend. That potential windfall of cash payments makes Devon an oil stock that investors won't want to miss as oil prices race toward $100.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":212,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":142602650,"gmtCreate":1626143854870,"gmtModify":1703754217685,"author":{"id":"4087559776333650","authorId":"4087559776333650","name":"ivyg2768","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ed8abd1654c7837e060560ffa05f2eee","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4087559776333650","authorIdStr":"4087559776333650"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Go go go","listText":"Go go go","text":"Go go go","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/142602650","repostId":"1193706990","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":264,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":146111817,"gmtCreate":1626058413739,"gmtModify":1703752528283,"author":{"id":"4087559776333650","authorId":"4087559776333650","name":"ivyg2768","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ed8abd1654c7837e060560ffa05f2eee","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4087559776333650","authorIdStr":"4087559776333650"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Apple(AAPL)$how I wish I have more to share ","listText":"$Apple(AAPL)$how I wish I have more to share ","text":"$Apple(AAPL)$how I wish I have more to share","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d2f58d7991e134664c0b9d6e8de569b8","width":"1080","height":"1920"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/146111817","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":276,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":140830637,"gmtCreate":1625644834729,"gmtModify":1703745524180,"author":{"id":"4087559776333650","authorId":"4087559776333650","name":"ivyg2768","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ed8abd1654c7837e060560ffa05f2eee","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4087559776333650","authorIdStr":"4087559776333650"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$XIAOMI-W(01810)$be good please ","listText":"$XIAOMI-W(01810)$be good please ","text":"$XIAOMI-W(01810)$be good please","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/6aac6e29c972d101cea8d2ee07da9106","width":"1080","height":"1920"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/140830637","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":318,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":140342054,"gmtCreate":1625633021378,"gmtModify":1703745335544,"author":{"id":"4087559776333650","authorId":"4087559776333650","name":"ivyg2768","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ed8abd1654c7837e060560ffa05f2eee","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4087559776333650","authorIdStr":"4087559776333650"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Okie... The group on Friday voted on a proposal that would have returned 400,000 barrels per day to the market each month from August through December, resulting in an additional 2 million barrels per day by the end of the year. Members also proposed extending the output cuts through the end of 2022.\nThe United Arab Emirates rejected these proposals, however, and talks stretched from Thursday to Friday as the group tried to reach a consensus. Initially, discussions were set to resume on Monday but were ultimately called off.\n“The date of the next meeting will be decided in due course,” OPEC Secretary General Mohammad Barkindo said in a statement.\nOPEC+ took historic measures in April 2020 and removed nearly 10 million barrels per day of production in an effort to support prices as demand for petroleum-products plummeted. Since then, the group has been slowly returning barrels to the market, while meeting on a near monthly basis to discuss output policy.\n“For us, it wasn’t a good deal,” UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Al Mazroueitold CNBC on Sunday. He added that the country would support a short-term increase in supply, but wants better terms if the policy is to be extended through 2022.\nOil’s blistering rally this year — WTI has gained 57% during 2021 — meant that ahead of last week’s meeting many Wall Street analysts expected the group to boost production in an effort to curb the spike in prices.\n“With no increase in production, the forthcoming growth in demand should see global energy markets tighten up at an even faster pace than anticipated,” analysts at TD Securities wrote in a note to clients.\n“This impasse will lead to a temporary and significantly larger-than-anticipated deficit, which should fuel even higher prices for the time being. An increasing need for EVcharging technologyis set to benefit a raft of global stocks, according to the bank, including semiconductor and Big Oil companies, as well as auto suppliers.\nBank of America analysts led by Harry Wyburd flagged a rapid rise in ownership of electric vehicles, with EVs on Europe’s roads up 100% since pre-Covid.\nIn a research note published last week, they wrote: “Our updated charger forecasts see c. [circa] $80bn of potential charging infrastructure investment by 2040E [estimate].”\nThe bank estimates there are currently around nine public charging points per 100 electric vehicles in Europe and expects the number to rise as more of the cars hit the road. BofA also expects “significant” growth in home charging points, with around 60 million electric connectors by 2030.\nBofA’s stock picks include:\nSemiconductors\n“We estimate that power semiconductor demand related to charger deployments in Europe can increase from low tens of millions of US dollars per annum to c$50m per annum by 2025 and c$100m per annum by 2030,” the analysts stated, pickingInfineonandSTMicroas beneficiaries of this.\nOil majors\nBig Oil can create “significant value” from “shifting their equity story to Big Energy,” with more of a focus on decarbonization, according to BofA. Its analysts noted the shift was becoming more urgent for these companies, given shareholder pressure and the Hague District Court’sdemands for Shellto meet climate targets set out in the Paris Agreement.\nThe analysts pickedBP,ShellandTotaland said: “We believe EV charging will grow in importance in linking Big Oil’s existing Marketing footprints (including global brand recognition and backing from their commodity trading desks) with Big Oils’ expansion into electricity supply.”\nAuto suppliers\nValeomakes parts for EVs of all sizes as well as a range of charging components for the likes ofVWand Mercedes. It is buy-rated by BofA, which noted that its joint venture withSiemensnow has around a 40% market share of the high voltage charging sector.\nMetals and mining\nCopper producerAntofagastaand minerBolidenare buy-rated picks for BofA, with copper likely to be a key part of EV chargers as well as inside the vehicle. “New technologies such as renewables, energy storage and electric vehicles that are gaining traction have one thing in common: they require a set of commodities we define as MIFTs, or metals important for future technologies,” BofA’s analysts wrote.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":199,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":128695249,"gmtCreate":1624512687781,"gmtModify":1703838938600,"author":{"id":"4087559776333650","authorId":"4087559776333650","name":"ivyg2768","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ed8abd1654c7837e060560ffa05f2eee","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4087559776333650","authorIdStr":"4087559776333650"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Interesting...
