Street analysts said this past week that investors should look to buy these stocks with compelling valuations ahead of their earnings.\nAbout 85% of S&P 500 companies have reported a positive earnings surprise for the second quarter so far, according to FactSet.\nCNBC Pro combed through top Wall Street research to find some of the most undervalued stocks heading into earnings that could repeat that success.\nThey include:Poshmark,Sally Beauty,Activision Blizzard,Republic Services,Affirm and Disney.\nAffirm Holdings\nBuy shares of Affirm now because it’s going to be a big quarter when the consumer loan company reports earnings later this summer, predicted Bank of America analyst Jason Kupferberg.\nThe firm has the stock on its top picks list for the third quarter of 2021 and said it likes the setup ahead of Affirm’s fourth quarter results.\n“During C3Q21, we believe Affirm’s F4Q21 (June) earnings results and initial F22 guidance will be a positive catalyst for shares,” he said.\nKupferberg is especially bullish on Affirm’s exclusive partnership with Shopify on point-of-sale financing which allows consumers to finance whatever they are buying at the time of purchase.\n“We also expect AFRM will provide incremental disclosures on SHOP and quantify SHOP’s contribution to F22 guidance on the next earnings call, which will enable investors to begin sizing the opportunity and tracking AFRM’s momentum on the platform,” he wrote.\nAffirm also has many competitors in the space, Kupferberg added, but said he thinks the company is up to the challenge especially on the heels of its success with the buy now, pay later model.\n“As AFRM continues to ramp up the SHOP partnership and delivers solid quarterly earnings, we see a meaningful upside to the stock, and see current valuation as an attractive entry point,” the firm wrote.\nThe stock finished the week down 14.5%\nPoshmark\nShares of the online fashion resale marketplace are down almost 61% since Poshmark began trading as a public company in January.\nHowever, don’t give up on Poshmark just yet, Stifel analyst Scott Devitt wrote this week.\nThe firm upgraded the stock to buy from hold and said Poshmark was the “best positioned player in the resale eCommerce landscape.”\nPoshmark will report second quarter earnings on August 10 and the near-term setup looks very “favorable,” he added.\n“We see a clear path for active buyer additions to accelerate in the coming quarters and into 2022, supported by rising marketing investments, international expansion, and an improving apparel backdrop,” he said.\nPoshmark is also one of the very few companies to have success incorporating social media into its business model, the firm wrote.\n“The company’s social features serve as a competitive moat and drive user engagement and conversion,”\nDevitt noted that the stock is cheap and that the economic reopening provides an “opportunistic entry point” for eager investors.\nRepublic Services\n“The right time for waste,” Morgan Stanley Jeffrey Goldstein proclaimed in a note to clients earlier this week.\nThe firm upgraded the stock to overweight from equal weight and said it had “increasing confidence” in waste fundamentals ahead of the company’s earnings report on July 29.\n“Top-line growth at the waste companies is made up of price and volume, both of which should benefit in this environment,” he said.\nIn addition, Goldstein noted that waste stocks are a bit of a save haven right now.\n“We believe that if the market were to see any type of contraction, we think the multiple of the waste group would be more insulated than the overall market given its historical recession resiliency,” he wrote.\nGoldstein acknowledged that 2021 comps were tough but said there are too many reasons for optimism including margin potential and increasing cash flow.\nFurther, Goldstein said he sees upside to consensus and the stock at a “compelling” entry point.\nShares are up 4.7% this month.\nDisney- JPMorgan, Overweight rating\n“On the studio side, we continue to see Disney emphasizing theatrical experiences even after this weekend’s Black Widow PVOD success on Disney+ with Premier Access, and therefore we expect to see a more substantial improvement in theatrical revenues FQ4/F22 with the return of exclusive theatrical windows. Meanwhile, we expect Disney+ subscriber growth to slow sequentially. ... .With its continued digital transformation and recovery at the legacy business, Disney remains our top pick in media in 2021, and we view current levels as a particularly favorable entry point for the long-term investor.”\nActivision Blizzard- Atlantic Equities, Overweight rating\n“Activision’s shares have been range bound for several months, which we view as creating an attractive entry point. The strong pipeline of content will start to come to market in H2 21 and management sees “another step change in financial performance in 2022″.Activision is due to release Diablo Immortal in late 2021 and has several Warcraft-themed mobile titles in late-stage development. These games have the potential to drive upside to consensus earnings estimates and we see several reasons to be optimistic on the outlook.”\nSally Beauty- Oppenheimer, Outperform rating\n“We downgraded shares in a report titled Risk/Reward Now Balanced; Downgrading to Perform (3/11/21 at $20.90). ... .We now see sustainable earnings power in at least the $2.35 range, vs. our $2.00 forecast at the time of the downgrade, and our most recent estimate of $2.30. SBH appears to be gaining traction with key initiatives, which could fuel upside to Street forecasts long term. ... . We view SBH’s valuation as accommodative at current levels and believe the recent pullback in shares creates an attractive entry point for value players.”\nAffirm- Bank of America, Buy rating\nDuring C3Q21, we believe Affirm’s F4Q21 (June) earnings results and initial F22 guidance will be a positive catalyst for shares. ... .We also expect AFRM will provide incremental disclosures on SHOP and quantify SHOP’s contribution to F22 guidance on the next earnings call, which will enable investors to begin sizing the opportunity and tracking AFRM’s momentum on the platform. ... .As AFRM continues to ramp up the SHOP partnership & delivers solid quarterly earnings, we see a meaningful upside to the stock, and see current valuation as an attractive entry point.”\nPoshmark- Stifel, Buy rating\nWe view POSH as the best positioned player in the resale eCommerce landscape. ... .We view the current valuation as an opportunistic entry point for a platform benefiting from several global & secular market trends, including growing eCommerce penetration in the apparel and resale categories, the shift to secondhand & environmentally conscious consumption & rising consumer adoption of social eCommerce. ... .The company’s social features serve as a competitive moat & drive user engagement & conversion. ... .We see a clear path for active buyer additions to accelerate in the coming quarters & into 2022, supported by rising marketing investments, intl.expansion & an improving apparel backdrop.”\nRepublic Services- Morgan Stanley, Overweight rating\nThe right time for waste. ... .Top-line growth at the waste companies is made up of price and volume, both of which should benefit in this environment.. ... .We see improving fundamentals, upside to estimates and consensus, and attractive relative valuation making waste services a good trade in the current mid-cycle environment. ... .RSG’s valuation discount vs. peers presents an attractive entry point. ... .In addition, we believe that if the market were to see any type of contraction, we think the multiple of the waste group would be more insulated than the overall market given its historical recession resiliency.”","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":254,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":144184371,"gmtCreate":1626271849493,"gmtModify":1703756833930,"author":{"id":"4087791510289210","authorId":"4087791510289210","name":"小鬼21","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/eb282cb28528d6d4e48d0bc1199e3e7e","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4087791510289210","authorIdStr":"4087791510289210"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Up Goldman is projecting a significant earnings per share beat for its fellow major bank.\nThe derivatives team suggested buying call options on Morgan Stanley that expire later this month with a strike price of $91 per share, which is slightly above where the stock closed on Friday.\nCall options give traders the right to buy a stock in the future at a set price, called the strike price. The risk to traders is that the stock fails to climb above that strike price, and then the person holding the call option loses the fee they paid for the derivative.\nInvestors should also explore call options forStarbucksandCaterpillar, according to Goldman Sachs. Goldman is projecting a significant earnings per share beat for its fellow major bank.\nThe derivatives team suggested buying call options on Morgan Stanley that expire later this month with a strike price of $91 per share, which is slightly above where the stock closed on Friday.\nCall options give traders the right to buy a stock in the future at a set price, called the strike price. The risk to traders is that the stock fails to climb above that strike price, and then the person holding the call option loses the fee they paid for the derivative.\nInvestors should also explore call options forStarbucksandCaterpillar, according to Goldman Sachs. Shares of the coffee chain have underperformed the broader market this year, while Caterpillar’s stock has dipped about 5% since its previous earnings report in April.\nThose companies are expected to report toward the end of July, so investors should look at call options that expire in August, according to Goldman.\nGOLDMAN SACHS OPTIONS IDEAS FOR EARNINGS SEASON\n\n\n\nTICKER\nCOMPANY\nOPTION TYPE\nEARNINGS DATE (ANNOUNCED OR ESTIMATED)\n\n\n\n\nMS\nMorgan Stanley\nCall\nJuly 15\n\n\nSBUX\nStarbucks\nCall\nJuly 27\n\n\nCAT\nCaterpillar\nCall\nJuly 30\n\n\nTAP\nMolson Coors\nPut\nJuly 29\n\n\n\nOn the other hand, there are some stocks that Goldman is bearish on ahead of the earnings reports.\nThe firm has a sell rating on Molson Coors, which is slated to report on July 29. Goldman’s analysts projects a significant earnings miss for the beverage company this quarter, and suggests that traders look at the August put options on the stock.\nPut options are effectively the reverse of a call option and function as a bet that a stock will go down. They give traders the right to sell a stock at a set strike price while only risking the fee paid to purchase the option.\nMolson Coors stock has slightly beaten the broader market in 2021, but it is still trading near its pre-pandemic levels, making it a significant laggard on a longer time frame. The stock has a sell rating from 23% of analysts, according to FactSet, suggesting that Goldman is not alone in having a negative outlook on the company.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":395,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":893705114,"gmtCreate":1628298829238,"gmtModify":1703504692388,"author":{"id":"4087791510289210","authorId":"4087791510289210","name":"小鬼21","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/eb282cb28528d6d4e48d0bc1199e3e7e","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4087791510289210","idStr":"4087791510289210"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[Cry] Street analysts said this past week that investors should look to buy these stocks with compelling valuations ahead of their earnings.\nAbout 85% of S&P 500 companies have reported a positive earnings surprise for the second quarter so far, according to FactSet.\nCNBC Pro combed through top Wall Street research to find some of the most undervalued stocks heading into earnings that could repeat that success.\nThey include:Poshmark,Sally Beauty,Activision Blizzard,Republic Services,Affirm and Disney.\nAffirm Holdings\nBuy shares of Affirm now because it’s going to be a big quarter when the consumer loan company reports earnings later this summer, predicted Bank of America analyst Jason Kupferberg.\nThe firm has the stock on its top picks list for the third quarter of 2021 and said it likes the setup ahead of Affirm’s fourth quarter results.\n“During C3Q21, we believe Affirm’s F4Q21 (June) earnings results and initial F22 guidance will be a positive catalyst for shares,” he said.\nKupferberg is especially bullish on Affirm’s exclusive partnership with Shopify on point-of-sale financing which allows consumers to finance whatever they are buying at the time of purchase.\n“We also expect AFRM will provide incremental disclosures on SHOP and quantify SHOP’s contribution to F22 guidance on the next earnings call, which will enable investors to begin sizing the opportunity and tracking AFRM’s momentum on the platform,” he wrote.\nAffirm also has many competitors in the space, Kupferberg added, but said he thinks the company is up to the challenge especially on the heels of its success with the buy now, pay later model.\n“As AFRM continues to ramp up the SHOP partnership and delivers solid quarterly earnings, we see a meaningful upside to the stock, and see current valuation as an attractive entry point,” the firm wrote.\nThe stock finished the week down 14.5%\nPoshmark\nShares of the online fashion resale marketplace are down almost 61% since Poshmark began trading as a public company in January.\nHowever, don’t give up on Poshmark just yet, Stifel analyst Scott Devitt wrote this week.\nThe firm upgraded the stock to buy from hold and said Poshmark was the “best positioned player in the resale eCommerce landscape.”\nPoshmark will report second quarter earnings on August 10 and the near-term setup looks very “favorable,” he added.\n“We see a clear path for active buyer additions to accelerate in the coming quarters and into 2022, supported by rising marketing investments, international expansion, and an improving apparel backdrop,” he said.\nPoshmark is also one of the very few companies to have success incorporating social media into its business model, the firm wrote.\n“The company’s social features serve as a competitive moat and drive user engagement and conversion,”\nDevitt noted that the stock is cheap and that the economic reopening provides an “opportunistic entry point” for eager investors.\nRepublic Services\n“The right time for waste,” Morgan Stanley Jeffrey Goldstein proclaimed in a note to clients earlier this week.\nThe firm upgraded the stock to overweight from equal weight and said it had “increasing confidence” in waste fundamentals ahead of the company’s earnings report on July 29.\n“Top-line growth at the waste companies is made up of price and volume, both of which should benefit in this environment,” he said.\nIn addition, Goldstein noted that waste stocks are a bit of a save haven right now.\n“We believe that if the market were to see any type of contraction, we think the multiple of the waste group would be more insulated than the overall market given its historical recession resiliency,” he wrote.\nGoldstein acknowledged that 2021 comps were tough but said there are too many reasons for optimism including margin potential and increasing cash flow.\nFurther, Goldstein said he sees upside to consensus and the stock at a “compelling” entry point.\nShares are up 4.7% this
