Robert Ford apologized Saturday for his company's role in the nationwide shortage of baby formula and promised production will ramp up again in June.

"We're sorry to every family we've let down," Mr. Ford wrote in a Washington Post op-ed.

Mr. Ford explained what led to his company's voluntary recall of baby formula and detailed the company's plan to avoid a similar shortage in the future.

"We are making significant investments to ensure this never happens again," he wrote.

In February, Abbott Laboratories voluntarily recalled some of its Similac, Alimentum and EleCare formulas manufactured in its Sturgis, Mich., plant after Food and Drug Administration officials found a potentially deadly bacteria there.

That decision exacerbated an existing baby formula shortage created by supply-chain issues during the Covid-19 pandemic, Mr. Ford acknowledged.

"We take great pride in manufacturing nutrition and formula to feed America's infants, including our most vulnerable," Mr. Ford said.

"But the past few months have distressed us as they have you, and so I want to say: We're sorry to every family we've let down since our voluntary recall exacerbated our nation's baby formula shortage," he said.

Four infants who drank tainted baby formula were hospitalized and two of them died, however the FDA said the bacteria didn't match the strains found at the Abbott plant.

Nonetheless, Mr. Ford wrote, issuing a voluntary recall was the right thing to do.

"The FDA's investigation did discover a bacteria in our plant that we will not tolerate. I have high expectations of this company, and we fell short of them," he wrote. "We will not take risks when it comes to the health of children."

The shortage has led to empty shelves at some stores, product restrictions and panic among parents and caregivers searching for formula to feed their babies.

President Biden on Wednesday invoked the Defense Production Act to increase production of baby formula and launched a program -- called Operation Fly Formula -- that would bring supplies by cargo plane that meets U.S. standards from overseas.

On Sunday, Mr. Biden tweeted photos of the aircraft being loaded with supplies.

"Our team is working around the clock to get safe formula to everyone who needs it," Mr. Biden wrote on Twitter, moments before the first formula shipment arrived in Indiana Sunday.

A top White House official on Sunday defended the administration's approach to the shortage and blamed longer-term trends for the crisis.

"How did we end up in a market where we have three companies that control 90% of the market?" the director of the White House National Economic Council, Brian Deese, said on CNN's "State of the Union," adding that officials were weighing steps to open up that market to more competition.

"We're going to have to work on that," Mr. Deese said.

Mr. Deese also said that the first shipment of formula brought to Indiana from Germany accounted for around 15% of the national need, and that he expected additional such flights early this week.

"We're going to keep ramping that up until we get there," he said.

Abbott's Mr. Ford said the company plans to restart its Sturgis facility in early June after entering into a consent decree with the FDA. It will take six to eight weeks from when production begins to get products on the shelves.

"When we are operating our Michigan facility at full capacity, we will more than double our current production of powdered infant formula for the United States," he wrote. "By the end of June, we will be supplying more formula to Americans than we were in January before the recall."

Meanwhile, he said, the company is putting baby formula production ahead of all its other adult products at its Ohio plant and has flown in supplies from its facility in Ireland.

Specialized baby formula known as EleCare, for infants or children who can't digest other formulas and milks, is the priority, Mr. Ford said.

"Given their unique needs, children who lose access to it can require medical supervision until the formula is returned to the shelves," he wrote.

Consumers can feel safe buying Abbott Laboratories products currently in stores, Mr. Ford said.

"What is available has passed rigorous inspections and is ready for your babies," he said.

","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; Many of the biggest public companies, especially the technology giants, trade in the hundreds, all the way up to over $1,000 per share or more. At those steep prices, it is difficult to get any decent share count leverage.

Many investors, especially more aggressive traders, look at lower-priced stocks as a way not only to make some good money but to get a higher share count. That can really help the decision-making process, especially when you are on to a winner, as you can always sell half and keep half.

Goldman Sachs is the premier investment bank in the world, so we screened its outstanding research database and found five stocks trading under the $10 level that could provide investors with upside potential ranging from over 125% to 400%. For those leery of low-priced shares, just remember that Amazon and Apple at one time traded in the single digits. Zynga, a stock we have featured over the years, recently was purchased by Take-Two Interactive Software.

While all five are rated Buy at Goldman Sachs, they are much better suited for very aggressive investors. It also is important to remember that no single analyst report should be used as a sole basis for any buying or selling decision.

Farfetch

This stock traded in the $50s a year ago and now has a huge upside. Farfetch Ltd. (NYSE: FTCH) provides an online marketplace for luxury fashion goods in the United States, the United Kingdom and elsewhere.

Besides operating Farfetch.com, an online marketplace, and the Farfetch app for retailers and brands, the company also offers web design, build, development and retail distribution solutions for retailers and brands. As of December 31, 2021, operated two Browns retail stores; two Stadium Goods retail stores; and 12 New Guards Off-White stores, three Ambush stores, two Palm Angels stores and three Off-White outlets. In addition, it operates approximately 60 New Guards franchised retail stores and four seasonal stores under various brands.

The $45 Goldman Sachs target price is well above the $30.58 consensus target. The shares closed on Friday at $7.86, so hitting the Goldman Sachs target would be a 475% or so gain.

Kronos Bio

This microcap biotech may be the biggest winner of all the Goldman Sachs Buy-rated stocks under $10. Kronos Bio Inc. (NASDAQ: KRON) is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery and development of novel cancer therapeutics.

The company’s product engine focuses on dysregulated transcription factors and the transcriptional regulatory networks that drive oncogenic activity. Its lead product candidate is entospletinib, which is an orally administered, selective spleen tyrosine kinase inhibitor for acute myeloid leukemia patients.

The company’s planned registrational Phase 3 clinical trial of entospletinib in combination with induction chemotherapy in acute myeloid leukemia patients with NPM1 mutations. Many of the biggest public companies, especially the technology giants, trade in the hundreds, all the way up to over $1,000 per share or more. At those steep prices, it is difficult to get any decent share count leverage. Many investors, especially more aggressive traders, look at lower-priced stocks as a way not only to make some good money but to get a higher share count. That can really help the decision-making process, especially when you are on to a winner, as you can always sell half and keep half.Goldman Sachs is the premier investment bank in the world, so we screened its outstanding research database and found five stocks trading under the $10 level that could provide investors with upside potential ranging from over 125% to 400%. It also is important to remember that no single analyst report should be used as a sole basis for any buying or selling decision.FarfetchThis stock traded in the $50s a year ago and now has a huge upside. Farfetch Ltd. (NYSE: FTCH) provides an online marketplace for luxury fashion goods in the United States, the United Kingdom and elsewhere.Besides operating Farfetch.com, an online marketplace, and the Farfetch app for retailers and brands, the company also offers web design, build, development and retail distribution solutions for retailers and brands. The shares closed on Friday at $7.86, so hitting the Goldman Sachs target would be a 475% or so gain.Kronos BioThis microcap biotech may be the biggest winner of all the Goldman Sachs Buy-rated stocks under $10. It is also developing KB-0742, an orally bioavailable inhibitor of cyclin-dependent kinase 9 for the treatment of MYC-amplified solid tumors, which is in Phase 1/2 clinical trial.Goldman Sachs has set a price target of $35 per share, and the consensus target is even higher at $40.25. But that’s not actually the case. In fact, advertising is gradually becoming a material contributor to the company’s revenue base.
\n
In a research note Tuesday, Bernstein analystToni Sacconaghidoes a deep dive into Apple’s ad business. While the company doesn’t talk about the business much andprovides little disclosure, Sacconaghi estimates that Apple will generate about $3 billion in ad revenue in the September 2021 fiscal year, up from about $300 million in fiscal 2017. He thinks the total could grow to the $7 billion-to-$10 billion-a-year range by fiscal 2023 or 2024, boosting growth in Apple’s services business as much as three percentage points.
\n
Sacconaghi notes that most of Apple’s ad business is centered on search ads in the App Store. He says growth drivers in the business include the June addition of search ads in China, higher ad loads, and the introduction of banner ads to the store in May. He also points out that Apple generates modest revenue today—likely under $500 million a year—from ads in the Apple News and Stocks apps.
\n
There are other opportunities—including Apple Maps and Apple TV. Sacconaghi estimates that Google generates about $4 billion in ad revenue a year from Maps, with a user base about four times the size, suggesting $1 billion a year in potential ad revenue. And he says that the streaming-device companyRoku (ROKU)provides “a helpful precedent” for how Apple can generate revenue from Apple TV hardware—where he sees another $1 billion-plus opportunity.
\n
The analyst adds that Apple could place ads on other properties—like Apple Fitness+ and Garage Band—but that the adoption of advertising in applications like Apple Mail, Apple TV+, or Apple’s home screens likely would “irk consumers and undermine Apple’s strongly avowed stance on privacy.”
\n
Meanwhile, Sacconaghi says, Apple’s position on Identifier for Advertisers, or IDFA, offers the company some competitive advantages. “While we believe that Apple’s move to eliminate IDFA was done in the spirit of advancing consumer privacy, it may ultimately provide Apple with an advertising platform that is competitively advantaged vs. peers who don’t have access to Apple’s richer APIs,” he writes.
\n
The analyst notes thatAmazon.com‘s (AMZN) ad business was similar in size to Apple’s in 2017—and now has a run rate north of $25 billion and is a substantial part of the investment thesis on the stock. “Along similar lines, a large and growing advertising business could help Apple accelerate its overall Services growth rate, which would likely be viewed positively by investors,” he concludes.
\n
Apple shares were up 0.1%, at $145.72, in recent trading. He finds that theS&P 500index had a negative return averaging 0.03% in August, September, and October—the worst three-month span of the year for the big-cap benchmark. In fact, they constitute the only three-month period that averages in the red.
\n
August actually is bracketed by the best and worst months of the year, he adds in a research note. But, what if we could use options to manufacture our own dividend?
\n
Let's say I have $45,000 that I want to invest in TSLA stock. I could simply buy some shares and hope the stock rises.
\n
But, if I want a more conservative play, I could sell a March 18, 2022-expiring put with a strike price of 450 and set aside the $45,000 in case I am assigned on the short put.
\n
That 450 strike put generates around $2,680 in option premium in just under eight months. So, my $45,000 investment into Tesla is giving me a 10.14% annualized \"dividend.\" What's the catch? Well, much like owning Tesla shares, if the stock keeps dropping, I'm going to lose money in the short-term.
\n
If Tesla stock is below 450 next March, then I will be forced to buy 100 shares at 450 each.
\n
10% Annualized Return If Put Expires Worthless
\n
But, if TSLA stays above 450, then I achieve a 10.14% per annum return when the put expires worthless.
\n
Cash secured puts are a bullish strategy but are considered slightly less bullish than owning Tesla stock because the potential gains are limited to the premium received.
\n
The 450 strike put currently has a delta of 9, so selling this put gives you an exposure roughly equivalent to owning nine shares of Tesla stock, although this will change as the stock moves up and down.
\n
One method that can help cut the risk is to turn it into a spread and buy a $250 strike put. This turns the trade into a bull put spread and reduces the capital at risk.
\n
Tesla stock has a Composite Rating of 89, an EPS Rating of 73 and a Relative Strength Rating of 86.
\n
Please remember that options are risky, and investors can lose 100% of their investment.
\n
This article is for education purposes only and not a trade recommendation. href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/WB\">

GT、ID.4 To Craig Irwin of Roth Capital Partners, as rivals move to pick off a head start that turned Tesla into the world’s most highly valued car company, the stock will sink to $150.
\n
The divergence illustrates the tension that has sent Tesla shares toward a 4% loss during the first half of the year even as rival automakers surged ahead. That’s a marked contrast to its more than 8-fold jump last year and reflects investors’ doubts about heady growth expectations for the company in the face of stronger competitive threats and signs of a sales slowdown in China.
\n
“For a long time Tesla was the only credible player in the high-quality EV market, and we are seeing that starting to change,” said JoAnne Feeney, portfolio manager atAdvisorsCapital Management, who said the company’s current valuation assumes it will become the biggest seller of cars in the U.S. “That seems to be an awful lot to ask.”
\n

\n
Tesla sold about half a million cars worldwide in 2020, accounting for a fraction of even the 14.5 million light vehicles sold in the U.S., and it’s facing threats from traditional automakers such as General Motors Co.,Ford Motor Co. and Volkswagen AG that are launching their own electric-vehicle lineups. In China, Tesla’s lead over other startups has already started to shrink, according to UBS Group AG analyst Patrick Hummel.
\n
That competition poses a separate challenge to the company’s bottom line: Tesla has profited from selling carbon-offset credits to other carmakers that haven’t met their emissions targets. But the more its rivals’ sales of electric vehicles take off, the more that source of revenue will drop.
\n
Yet Tesla’s stock-market valuation is based on the expectation of steep growth, giving it little room for error. It’s currently trading at more than 650 times earnings per share, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. That compares with a multiple of 30 for the S&P 500 Index.
\n
“Tesla’s market valuation is vastly over optimistic, ignoring the over 500 EV models that will be on the road by the end of 2025,” said Roth Capital’s Irwin. “Tesla does not operate in a vacuum and many companies have better technology.”
\n
The company will be reporting second-quarter delivery figures later this week, a major catalyst that analysts and investors will be keenly watching.
\n

\n
But Tesla bulls are confident that the company’s valuation will be justified if it comes to dominate the industry, much like tech behemoths Alphabet Inc.,FaceBook Inc. and Amazon.com Inc .have come to lord over their’s.
\n
Others just see it as a pause for Tesla shares as investors come to terms with the surging valuation last year, when markets leaned heavily onto growth stocks as the pandemic shut down much of the global economy. To Craig Irwin of Roth Capital Partners, as rivals move to pick off a head start that turned Tesla into the world’s most highly valued car company, the stock will sink to $150.\nThe divergence illustrates the tension that has sent Tesla shares toward a 4% loss during the first half of the year even as rival automakers surged ahead. That’s a marked contrast to its more than 8-fold jump last year and reflects investors’ doubts about heady growth expectations for the company in the face of stronger competitive threats and signs of a sales slowdown in China.\n“For a long time Tesla was the only credible player in the high-quality EV market, and we are seeing that starting to change,” said JoAnne Feeney, portfolio manager atAdvisorsCapital Management, who said the company’s current valuation assumes it will become the biggest seller of cars in the U.S. “That seems to be an awful lot to ask.”\n\nTesla sold about half a million cars worldwide in 2020, accounting for a fraction of even the 14.5 million light vehicles sold in the U.S., and it’s facing threats from traditional automakers such as General Motors Co.,Ford Motor Co. and Volkswagen AG that are launching their own electric-vehicle lineups. In China, Tesla’s lead over other startups has already started to shrink, according to UBS Group AG analyst Patrick Hummel.\nThat competition poses a separate challenge to the company’s bottom line: Tesla has profited from selling carbon-offset credits to other carmakers that haven’t met their emissions targets. But the more its rivals’ sales of electric vehicles take off, the more that source of revenue will drop.\nYet Tesla’s stock-market valuation is based on the expectation of steep growth, giving it little room for error. It’s currently trading at more than 650 times earnings per share, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. That compares with a multiple of 30 for the S&P 500 Index.\n“Tesla’s market valuation is vastly over optimistic, ignoring the over 500 EV models that will be on the road by the end of 2025,” said Roth Capital’s Irwin. “Tesla does not operate in a vacuum and many companies have better technology.”\nThe company will be reporting second-quarter delivery figures later this week, a major catalyst that analysts and investors will be keenly watching.\n\nBut Tesla bulls are confident that the company’s valuation will be justified if it comes to dominate the industry, much like tech behemoths Alphabet Inc.,FaceBook Inc. and Amazon.com Inc .have come to lord over their’s.\nOthers just see it as a pause for Tesla shares as investors come to terms with the surging valuation last year, when markets leaned heavily onto growth stocks as the pandemic shut down much of the global economy. That influx has started to shift this year in the so-called reflation trade, with funds moving back into stocks more likely to benefit from the recovery.\nCathie Wood’s Ark Investment Management, which had a 0.6% stake in Tesla as of March 31 and is an ardent backer of the company, remains steadfast in its support despite the stock’s showing this year. Ark expects it to benefit from rising electric vehicle sales and sees even odds that it will deliver fully self-driven cars in four years.\nIf all goes as planned? Ark forecasts the stock will reach $3,000 in 2025.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":80,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":863092097,"gmtCreate":1632327341719,"gmtModify":1676530755005,"author":{"id":"4087904141293090","authorId":"4087904141293090","name":"catzilla","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/08e6f2b0810c3d8fff459803d35fc362","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4087904141293090","authorIdStr":"4087904141293090"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Shopify(SHOP)$ lets go shopping","listText":"$Shopify(SHOP)$ lets go shopping","text":"$Shopify(SHOP)$ lets go shopping","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/aaa59a5a15caa5668c0b622f41506078","width":"720","height":"1679"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/863092097","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":376,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
