"We, Robot," the banner reads. "10.10 Los Angeles."

On Sept. 11, Musk wrote on X that in his opinion the robotaxi reveal will be the most significant moment for Tesla since the EV company unveiled the Model 3 nearly nine years ago.

"We think the stakes are high and there is more risk to the downside than upside given the stock's recent run-up and likelihood that the event could disappoint," CFRA analyst Garrett Nelson wrote on Oct.2.

"We also note the stock price run-up and then 'sell the news' pattern of major Tesla events historically. Specifically, we are looking for more visibility regarding intermediate-term earnings growth," Nelson added.

Tesla stock has been climbing further above its 50-day moving average to within around 7% of its July high, which also acts as a traditional buy point. Meanwhile, on Oct. 2, Tesla reported global third-quarter deliveries increased 6% compared to a year ago, hitting the third best quarterly total ever, as the EV giant saw vehicle unit sales return to growth for the first time in 2024.

As analysts await the robotaxi event, updates around Tesla's strategy, new products and EV demand, the top question for investors is always, when is it a good time to buy or sell Tesla stock.

Tesla Stock: Location And Viewing

Tesla has confirmed the robotaxi reveal will take place in Los Angeles, but have not officially announced a venue location. Bloomberg reported that Tesla will hold the event at the Warner Bros. studio in Burbank. However, that has not yet been confirmed by Tesla.

Wedbush Securities analyst Dan Ives, a longtime Tesla bull, on Sept. 30 wrote he would be attending the robotaxi event in person and that it would be at the Warner Bros. studio.

On Sept. 10, Tesla announced retail investors could sign up for a chance to attend the event in person.

Those invitations went out to Tesla investors on Sept. 25 and reportedly another batch of invites started going out to investors on Oct. 1.

"Join us for We, Robot — our official unveiling of the future of autonomy," the invite proclaims.

Investors must RSVP before Oct. 6 to be able go to the robotaxi reveal, according to screenshots of the invitation. Tickets are non-transferrable and guests must be at least 21 years of age. The invite states "next steps" will be sent out after tickets are confirmed.

Remarks will begin at 7 p.m. on Oct. 10. The event is expected to be broadcast across Tesla's different social media channels, including X and YouTube.

The Robotaxi And Maybe Something Else?

Musk previously planned to unveil the robotaxi on Aug. 8, but pushed the event out to "make some important changes." Musk also hinted on the Q2 earnings call that there could also potentially be other product announcements on Oct. 10.

"Moving it back a few months, allowed us to improve the robotaxi, as well as add in a couple other things for the product unveil," Musk said on the July 23 earnings call.

Ives on Sept. 30 said he expects Musk and Tesla to provide updates during the robotaxi event on full self-driving, known as FSD, and artificial intelligence (AI).

"We expect to hear many updates and more granularity from Tesla and Musk on its robotaxi rumored to be named the "Cybercab", its next-gen platform, breakthroughs in FSD & AI with robotaxi rolling out phases of the strategy within the next year," Ives said.

Adam Jonas, Morgan Stanley's high-profile auto analyst and a TSLA bull, wrote on Oct. 2 he expects the Oct. 10 robotaxi event will include a demonstration of the latest iteration of full self-driving, or FSD, which would be version 12.5 or later, as well as a demonstration of a fully-autonomous robotaxi, or "cyber-cab" driving on a a closed course.

Jonas forecasts potential initial commercial introduction of the cyber-cab could be late 2025 or 2026.

Jonas has stressed that Tesla currently has a permit for autonomous vehicle testing "with a driver" but does not possess a permit for autonomous vehicle testing or deployment without a driver.

On Musk's hints at other products, Jonas wrote in September: "Could we see an electric plane? A boat? The latest gen Optimus robot flipping burgers at a Tesla Diner? We're not really sure."

"We remind investors that such events aim to achieve multiple purposes including recruiting, marketing and consumer education," the analyst added.

Cathie Wood's Robotaxi Projections

Meanwhile, Cathie Wood and her Ark Invest firm on June 12 updated its Tesla stock price target to 2,600 by 2029. Wood has long been bullish on Tesla's autonomy push and robotaxi aims. Ark Invest estimates that around 90% of Tesla's enterprise value and earnings will be attributed to the robotaxi business in 2029.

Without a robotaxi network and business, Ark Invest says its TSLA price target would be around $350 per share, according to the report.

"We remain confident that the service will launch within the next five years," Ark Invest said.

Tesla: Second-Quarter Earnings

The EV giant's second-quarter earnings sank compared to a year ago. On July 23, Tesla reported that Q2 earnings fell 43% to 52 cents per share. Meanwhile, quarterly revenue totaled $25.5 billion, up 2% vs. the year-earlier quarter. Analysts had predicted Tesla would report earnings of 61 cents a share with sales sliding to $24.54 billion, according to FactSet.

Tesla announced it "achieved record quarterly revenues despite a difficult operating environment." However, Tesla's gross margins fell 23 basis points to 18%. Auto gross margins, excluding regulatory credits and leases, came in at 15.1%, inline with analyst expectations, according to FactSet.

This comes after Musk on the Q1 earnings call said that "if somebody doesn't believe Tesla is going to solve autonomy" that they "should not be an investor in the company." The Tesla chief doubled down on this line on the second-quarter conference call.

Low Cost Vehicle Upcoming?

Tesla has said plans for new vehicles, including affordable models, remain on track to start production in the first half of 2025. That suggests that mass production won't start until late 2025 at the earliest.

There were media reports going into Q2 that Tesla had decided to scrap its next-generation Model 2, a $25,000 vehicle.

Meanwhile, Tesla also said in its July earnings report that its vehicle volume growth rate in 2024 "may be notably lower than the growth rate" last year. The EV giant added that growth in its energy storage business should outpace its automotive segment.

Musk in the Q1 earnings call said he expected 2024 vehicle deliveries to grow compared to 2023. The EV giant saw deliveries in 2023 hit a record 1.81 million.

Tesla and Musk would have to see a record-setting Q4 for them to reach the 1.8 million number.

Musk And Tesla Control

Tesla shareholders also recently voted in favor of giving Musk his 2018 $56 billion pay package and reincorporating the company in Texas, moving it from Delaware.

Musk has hinted throughout the year he feels he needs more TSLA shares and voting power before making Tesla a "leader in AI & robotics."

In January, Musk posted on X that he's "uncomfortable growing Tesla to be a leader in AI & robotics without having ~25% voting control." The chief executive added that he wants enough shares to be "influential but not so much that I can't be overturned."

Musk currently has a nearly 13% stake in Tesla. Prior to selling TSLA shares to purchase Twitter, now X, for $44 billion in late 2022, Musk owned around 22% of Tesla.

Elon Musk, Layoffs And Superchargers

With Musk focused on full self-driving, FSD, and artificial intelligence, he has also been shaking up Tesla, letting top executives go and announcing layoffs, this year.

Musk decided to let two top executives go while also cutting the EV company's entire supercharger team, according to reports on April 30.

In late April, Musk dismissed Rebecca Tinucci, senior director of Tesla's supercharger efforts, and Daniel Ho, head of the new vehicles program. The Tesla CEO also reportedly cut teams under Tinucci and Ho along with laying off its public policy employees and the entire staff working on Tesla superchargers.

However, since then he appears to have since started hiring back employees.

Musk also decided in April to lay off more than 10% of Tesla's global workforce, an effort to prepare for the "next phase of growth." Drew Baglino, who served as senior vice president of powertrain and energy, and Rohan Patel, vice president of public policy and business development, both departed Tesla around the time of those cuts.

Meanwhile, reports emerged on Aug. 20, that Uber has hired Tinucci to oversee the company's shift to electric vehicles. Tinucci will start her new position on Sept. 16.

Competition between Tesla and Uber appears to be heating up with the EV giant scheduled to unveil its robotaxi on Oct. 10, and claims it is currently working on its own integrated ride-hailing service.

Tesla EVs In Regulators' Sights

The EV giant also faces mounting pressure from regulators in 2024. Specifically, we are looking for more visibility regarding intermediate-term earnings growth,\" Nelson added.Tesla stock has been climbing further above its 50-day moving average to within around 7% of its July high, which also acts as a traditional buy point. Meanwhile, on Oct. 2, Tesla reported global third-quarter deliveries increased 6% compared to a year ago, hitting the third best quarterly total ever, as the EV giant saw vehicle unit sales return to growth for the first time in 2024.As analysts await the robotaxi event, updates around Tesla's strategy, new products and EV demand, the top question for investors is always, when is it a good time to buy or sell Tesla stock.Tesla Stock: Location And ViewingTesla has confirmed the robotaxi reveal will take place in Los Angeles, but have not officially announced a venue location. Bloomberg reported that Tesla will hold the event at the Warner Bros. studio in Burbank. However, that has not yet been confirmed by Tesla.Wedbush Securities analyst Dan Ives, a longtime Tesla bull, on Sept. 1.\"Join us for We, Robot — our official unveiling of the future of autonomy,\" the invite proclaims.Investors must RSVP before Oct. 6 to be able go to the robotaxi reveal, according to screenshots of the invitation. Tickets are non-transferrable and guests must be at least 21 years of age. The invite states \"next steps\" will be sent out after tickets are confirmed.Remarks will begin at 7 p.m. on Oct. 10. The event is expected to be broadcast across Tesla's different social media channels, including X and YouTube. The Robotaxi And Maybe Something Else?Musk previously planned to unveil the robotaxi on Aug. 8, but pushed the event out to \"make some important changes.\" Musk also hinted on the Q2 earnings call that there could also potentially be other product announcements on Oct. 10.\"Moving it back a few months, allowed us to improve the robotaxi, as well as add in a couple other things for the product unveil,\" Musk said on the July 23 earnings call.Ives on Sept. 30 said he expects Musk and Tesla to provide updates during the robotaxi event on full self-driving, known as FSD, and artificial intelligence (AI).\"We expect to hear many updates and more granularity from Tesla and Musk on its robotaxi rumored to be named the \"Cybercab\", its next-gen platform, breakthroughs in FSD & AI with robotaxi rolling out phases of the strategy within the next year,\" Ives said.Adam Jonas, Morgan Stanley's high-profile auto analyst and a TSLA bull, wrote on Oct. 2 he expects the Oct. 10 robotaxi event will include a demonstration of the latest iteration of full self-driving, or FSD, which would be version 12.5 or later, as well as a demonstration of a fully-autonomous robotaxi, or \"cyber-cab\" driving on a a closed course.Jonas forecasts potential initial commercial introduction of the cyber-cab could be late 2025 or 2026.Jonas has stressed that Tesla currently has a permit for autonomous vehicle testing \"with a driver\" but does not possess a permit for autonomous vehicle testing or deployment without a driver. On Musk's hints at other products, Jonas wrote in September: \"Could we see an electric plane? A boat? The latest gen Optimus robot flipping burgers at a Tesla Diner? We're not really sure.\"\"We remind investors that such events aim to achieve multiple purposes including recruiting, marketing and consumer education,\" the analyst added.Cathie Wood's Robotaxi ProjectionsMeanwhile, Cathie Wood and her Ark Invest firm on June 12 updated its Tesla stock price target to 2,600 by 2029. Wood has long been bullish on Tesla's autonomy push and robotaxi aims. Ark Invest estimates that around 90% of Tesla's enterprise value and earnings will be attributed to the robotaxi business in 2029.Without a robotaxi network and business, Ark Invest says its TSLA price target would be around $350 per share, according to the report.\"We remain confident that the service will launch within the next five years,\" Ark Invest said.Tesla: Second-Quarter EarningsThe EV giant's second-quarter earnings sank compared to a year ago. On July 23, Tesla reported that Q2 earnings fell 43% to 52 cents per share. Meanwhile, quarterly revenue totaled $25.5 billion, up 2% vs. the year-earlier quarter. Analysts had predicted Tesla would report earnings of 61 cents a share with sales sliding to $24.54 billion, according to FactSet.Tesla announced it \"achieved record quarterly revenues despite a difficult operating environment.\" However, Tesla's gross margins fell 23 basis points to 18%. Auto gross margins, excluding regulatory credits and leases, came in at 15.1%, inline with analyst expectations, according to FactSet.This comes after Musk on the Q1 earnings call said that \"if somebody doesn't believe Tesla is going to solve autonomy\" that they \"should not be an investor in the company.\" The Tesla chief doubled down on this line on the second-quarter conference call.Low Cost Vehicle Upcoming?Tesla has said plans for new vehicles, including affordable models, remain on track to start production in the first half of 2025. That suggests that mass production won't start until late 2025 at the earliest. There were media reports going into Q2 that Tesla had decided to scrap its next-generation Model 2, a $25,000 vehicle.Meanwhile, Tesla also said in its July earnings report that its vehicle volume growth rate in 2024 \"may be notably lower than the growth rate\" last year. The EV giant added that growth in its energy storage business should outpace its automotive segment.Musk in the Q1 earnings call said he expected 2024 vehicle deliveries to grow compared to 2023. The EV giant saw deliveries in 2023 hit a record 1.81 million.Tesla and Musk would have to see a record-setting Q4 for them to reach the 1.8 million number.Musk And Tesla ControlTesla shareholders also recently voted in favor of giving Musk his 2018 $56 billion pay package and reincorporating the company in Texas, moving it from Delaware.Musk has hinted throughout the year he feels he needs more TSLA shares and voting power before making Tesla a \"leader in AI & robotics.\"In January, Musk posted on X that he's \"uncomfortable growing Tesla to be a leader in AI & robotics without having ~25% voting control.\" The chief executive added that he wants enough shares to be \"influential but not so much that I can't be overturned.\"Musk currently has a nearly 13% stake in Tesla. Prior to selling TSLA shares to purchase Twitter, now X, for $44 billion in late 2022, Musk owned around 22% of Tesla.Elon Musk, Layoffs And SuperchargersWith Musk focused on full self-driving, FSD, and artificial intelligence, he has also been shaking up Tesla, letting top executives go and announcing layoffs, this year.Musk decided to let two top executives go while also cutting the EV company's entire supercharger team, according to reports on April 30.In late April, Musk dismissed Rebecca Tinucci, senior director of Tesla's supercharger efforts, and Daniel Ho, head of the new vehicles program. The Tesla CEO also reportedly cut teams under Tinucci and Ho along with laying off its public policy employees and the entire staff working on Tesla superchargers. However, since then he appears to have since started hiring back employees.Musk also decided in April to lay off more than 10% of Tesla's global workforce, an effort to prepare for the \"next phase of growth.\" Drew Baglino, who served as senior vice president of powertrain and energy, and Rohan Patel, vice president of public policy and business development, both departed Tesla around the time of those cuts.Meanwhile, reports emerged on Aug. 20, that Uber has hired Tinucci to oversee the company's shift to electric vehicles. Tinucci will start her new position on Sept. 16.Competition between Tesla and Uber appears to be heating up with the EV giant scheduled to unveil its robotaxi on Oct. 10, and claims it is currently working on its own integrated ride-hailing service.Tesla EVs In Regulators' SightsThe EV giant also faces mounting pressure from regulators in 2024. A Reuters investigation found the EV giant has known of faulty suspension and steering parts across its model lineup going back at least seven years, but often blamed drivers when those parts failed.Norway's traffic safety regulator in late 2023 confirmed it's been investigating suspension failures in Model S and X vehicles since September 2022. Sweden also announced on December 22, 2023 that it's also looking into similar issues. This comes after a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) investigation spurred Tesla to perform an over-the-air software \"recall\" on more than 2 million vehicles after determining that the Autopilot is prone to misuse after reviewing 1,000 accidents. The NHTSA recently closed its Autopilot safety probe. However it has opened a new investigation into whether the over-the-air update was sufficient. Is Tesla Stock A Buy?TSLA shares are climbing back towards a traditional 271 buy point from a cup base, according to MarketSurge. After Friday's close, Tesla stock should have a handle on a weekly chart, giving it a 264.86 cup-with-handle buy point. That handle will be valid on a daily chart after Monday's close. On Sept. 5, shares popped above their 50-day moving average, buoyed by robust China sales and the EV giant's full self-driving rollout plans.TSLA shares jumped more than 22% in September after declining 7.7% in August. But if there's one near-constant for the world's most successful money managers, it's their love of dividend stocks.
\n
Companies that regularly pay a dividend to their shareholders are usually profitable, have clear long-term outlooks, and offer time-tested operating models. It also doesn't hurt that for decades, they've run circles around their peers that don't pay dividends. The average annual return for companies that initiated and grew their payouts between 1972 and 2012 was 9.5%, which compares to just 1.6% annually for those that don't pay dividends, according to a report from J.P. Morgan Asset Management.
\n
As talk of rising inflation picks up, now is the perfect time to consider putting dividend stocks to work in your portfolio. The following five dividend stocks can comfortably be bought hand over first for the second half of 2021.
\n
\n
Annaly Capital Management: 9.5% yield
\n
Arguably the most attractive income stock to combat inflation is mortgage real estate investment trust (REIT) Annaly Capital Management (NYSE:NLY). It currently yields 9.5% and has averaged a yield of around 10% for more than two decades.
\n
In simple terms, mortgage REITs are companies that borrow money at lower short-term rates to buy assets (mortgage-backed securities) with higher long-term yields. The difference between the long-term yield received and lower short-term borrowing rate is known as the net interest margin. During the early stages of an economic recovery, it's normal to see the yield curve steepen -- i.e., long-term bond yields rise while short-term yields fall or flatten out. In other words, we're in the sweet spot where Annaly and its peers typically see their net interest margin expand.
\n
If you're worried about the safety of this 9.5% yield, don't be. Annaly Capital almost exclusively purchases agency securities. These are assets backed by the federal government in the event of a default. As you might imagine, this added protection reduces the yields Annaly receives on the mortgage-backed securities it buys. However, it's also able to safely use leverage to boost its income.
\n
\n
Innovative Industrial Properties: 2.9% yield
\n
Who said you can't find an above-average dividend yield in a growth stock? Cannabis-focused REIT Innovative Industrial Properties (NYSE:IIPR) is expected by Wall Street to grow its revenue 67% this year and 39% next year, all while parsing out a nearly 3% yield to its shareholders.
\n
Innovative Industrial Properties, or IIP, acquires medical marijuana cultivation and processing facilities with the intent of leasing them out for long periods of time. Through the end of May, it owned 72 properties in 18 states, with all 6.6 million square feet of its owned assets leased. According to the company, its weighted-average lease length is 16.8 years, and I'd estimate a complete payback on its $1.6 billion in invested capital in less than half that time.
\n
A big reason IIP is so successful is that cannabis reform continues to fail at the federal level. As long as marijuana is federally illicit, access to basic banking services for pot stocks will be hit-and-miss. Innovative Industrial steps in with its sale-leaseback agreements to resolve some of these issues. It acquires cannabis facilities for cash and immediately leases the property back to the seller. As long as cannabis reform stalls on Capitol Hill, IIP will reap the reward.
\n
\n
Enterprise Products Partners: 7.5% yield
\n
With crude oil prices hitting multiyear highs, it's time to consider putting a high-yield midstream company to work for you. Master limited partnership Enterprise Products Partners (NYSE:EPD) and its juicy 7.5% yield could offer the perfect combination of share price appreciation and income.
\n
While the very long-term future of the U.S. rests with renewable energy sources, it's also the case that oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids (NGL) are here to stay for decades to come. The safest bet within that space are the midstream operators like Enterprise Products Partners that handle pipeline transmission and storage. Enterprise has over 50,000 miles of pipeline and 21 NGL processing plants, which leads to highly predictable cash flow. It's set aside another $1.6 billion this year alone for capital expenditures to maintain and expand its existing infrastructure.
\n
Whereas most oil and gas stocks struggled mightily during the unprecedented demand drop-off associated with the pandemic, Enterprise hardly flinched. Its distribution coverage ratio -- distributable cash flow divided by distributions to be paid to shareholders -- has remained at 1.6 or higher, and the company is averaging a return on invested capital of 12% over the past decade. After 22 consecutive years of increasing its base annual dividend, it's safe to say this is a rock-solid income stock.
\n
\n
Viatris: 3% yield
\n
Although healthcare stocks aren't known for being big income producers (most healthcare companies are constantly reinvesting in research and development), generic-drug company Viatris (NASDAQ:VTRS) is currently paying out a market-topping 3% yield. Viatris was formed from the combination of generic-drug company Mylan with Pfizer's established drug unit Upjohn.
\n
Even though Wall Street is likely clouded by the combined debt load of these two companies, which at one point was around $26 billion, there are numerous competitive advantages to this combination. By 2023, Viatris should be recognizing around $1 billion in annual cost synergies. There's also the likelihood that a broader portfolio of established and generic products will command better pricing power, which can be a positive for margins and operating cash flow. Within three years, management expects to have repaid 25% of the company's outstanding debt and may look to reinvest via internal drug development.
\n
What's more, as brand-name drug prices rise and the baby boomer population ages, demand for reasonably priced generics is bound to go up. Investors simply aren't going to find too many dividend stocks they can buy for just 4 times this year's forecast earnings per share.
\n
\n
NextEra Energy: 2.1% yield
\n
Last, but not least, America's largest electric utility stock by market cap, NextEra Energy (NYSE:NEE), can be bought hand over fist by income seekers. Though NextEra's yield of 2.1% is the lowest among these five dividend plays, its stock offers steady upside for patient investors.
\n
Generally, utility stocks are boring, slow-growing businesses. However, NextEra breaks the mold. That's because it's aggressively investing in renewable energy solutions. The company has set aside $50 billion to $55 billion for new projects between 2020 and 2022, and is already leading the country in capacity generated from solar and wind power. Though these investments aren't cheap, it's paying off with lower electric generation costs and a compound annual growth rate in the high single digits over the past decade.
\n
As with Enterprise Products Partners, NextEra's operating results are highly predictable. Consumer demand doesn't change much from year to year (i.e., electricity is a basic-need service), and the company's traditional utility operations (those not powered by renewable energy) are regulated. This is fancy way of saying that state public utility commissions dictate whether NextEra can raise its rates or not. This might sound like a pain, but it's actually great news, because it keeps the company away from being exposed to potentially volatile wholesale pricing.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
5 Dividend Stocks to Buy Hand Over Fist for the Second Half of 2021
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n5 Dividend Stocks to Buy Hand Over Fist for the Second Half of 2021\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-30 19:37 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
There are a number of ways for investors to build wealth on Wall Street. However, NextEra breaks the mold. That's because it's aggressively investing in renewable energy solutions. The company has set aside $50 billion to $55 billion for new projects between 2020 and 2022, and is already leading the country in capacity generated from solar and wind power. Though these investments aren't cheap, it's paying off with lower electric generation costs and a compound annual growth rate in the high single digits over the past decade.\nAs with Enterprise Products Partners, NextEra's operating results are highly predictable. Consumer demand doesn't change much from year to year (i.e., electricity is a basic-need service), and the company's traditional utility operations (those not powered by renewable energy) are regulated. This is fancy way of saying that state public utility commissions dictate whether NextEra can raise its rates or not. This might sound like a pain, but it's actually great news, because it keeps the company away from being exposed to potentially volatile wholesale pricing.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":331,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"hots":[{"id":356786662248776,"gmtCreate":1728108203937,"gmtModify":1728108602978,"author":{"id":"4088084768946770","authorId":"4088084768946770","name":"akamomentd","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4088084768946770","authorIdStr":"4088084768946770"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Wow Cathie's target is 2600 by 2029??","listText":"Wow Cathie's target is 2600 by 2029??","text":"Wow Cathie's target is 2600 by 2029??","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/356786662248776","repostId":"2472648790","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"2472648790","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1728097200,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2472648790?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2024-10-05 11:00","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Is Tesla Stock A Buy or A Sell With All Eyes on The Robotaxi Event Next Week?","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2472648790","media":"Blockhead","summary":"Investors await the robotaxi reveal event.","content":"

Tesla stock has battled back this year and heading into the Oct. 10 robotaxi event, it is approaching a traditional buy point even as investors appear to be treading carefully prior the big announcement.

Robotaxi event invitations were officially sent to Tesla investors on Sept. 25 and while most of the details are still under wraps, Chief Executive Elon Musk is setting sky-high expectations for the event.

"This will be one for the history books," Musk posted to X on Sept. 25, along with a photo of the event announcement. Tesla stock has battled back in 2024 and is now up 0.6% on the year, after rebounding about 90% from a late-April low.Tesla has a busy October. Third-quarter deliveries are done but the EV giant has the robotaxi event on Oct. 10 and then Q3 earnings on Oct. 23.Wall Street consensus also has 2024 Tesla earnings firmly below last year's level. That signals another year of earnings declines for this growth stock. Analysts currently expect Tesla earnings per share of just $2.22 in 2024, according to FactSet. That would be about a 30% decline vs. $3.12 in 2023.Tesla stock ranks fourth in the 35-member IBD Auto Manufacturers industry group. The stock has a 54 Composite Rating out of a best-possible 99. Shares also have a 49 Relative Strength Rating and a 57 EPS Rating.Almost single-handedly, Elon Musk has turned the auto industry on its head. He has essentially forced it to get aboard the electric-vehicle train. Tesla has been a monster stock over much of its history, especially during its stratospheric run from mid-2019 to late 2021.Tesla stock is approaching a traditional buy point, but the stock is a little extended above its 50-day moving average and there is risk to the downside if the robotaxi event disappoints.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":24,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":359934347718824,"gmtCreate":1728902557509,"gmtModify":1728902561176,"author":{"id":"4088084768946770","authorId":"4088084768946770","name":"akamomentd","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4088084768946770","authorIdStr":"4088084768946770"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Does this entail an increase in price for BABA?","listText":"Does this entail an increase in price for BABA?","text":"Does this entail an increase in price for BABA?","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/359934347718824","repostId":"1117214325","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1117214325","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1728901055,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1117214325?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2024-10-14 18:17","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Alibaba Will Be Added to Hang Seng Family of Indexes","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1117214325","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"Hang Seng Indexes Company announced that as Alibaba has become Southbound Stock Connect-eligible and has fulfilled the fast entry rule of the relevant indexes, BABA-W will be added to the Hang Seng Stock Connect Hong Kong Index, Hang Seng China 25 Index, Hang Seng SCHK Artificial Intelligence Theme Index, Hang Seng SCHK China Technology Index, and Hang Seng SCHK New Economy Index.
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
There are a number of ways for investors to build wealth on Wall Street. The company has set aside $50 billion to $55 billion for new projects between 2020 and 2022, and is already leading the country in capacity generated from solar and wind power. Though these investments aren't cheap, it's paying off with lower electric generation costs and a compound annual growth rate in the high single digits over the past decade.\nAs with Enterprise Products Partners, NextEra's operating results are highly predictable. Consumer demand doesn't change much from year to year (i.e., electricity is a basic-need service), and the company's traditional utility operations (those not powered by renewable energy) are regulated. This is fancy way of saying that state public utility commissions dictate whether NextEra can raise its rates or not. This might sound like a pain, but it's actually great news, because it keeps the company away from being exposed to potentially volatile wholesale pricing.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":331,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
