to hit a","content":"

The Australian share market took a breather on the first day of April but remains on course to hit a record high this year after a particularly strong March.

The 0.1% or 6 point fall to 7494 points on Friday still left the market up an amazing 6.4% for March as it recovered quickly from the Russian invasion of the Ukraine and rose strongly on the back of higher energy and materials companies.

BHP (ASX: BHP) is a great example, powering up 1.2% to $52.39 on Friday, putting it well on the way to reclaiming its record high levels from last year.

Commodity prices rising strongly

There has been a generalised rise in commodity prices which saw the energy and materials sector add around 10% for the month.

Companies that mine critical minerals were also much stronger after US President Biden announced it would be investing to boost production of rare earth minerals.

That was a big help for stocks such as Lynas (ASX: LYC), which rose 3.07% to $11.09 on the back of an existing relationship with the US Department of Defence.

The announcement also buoyed lithium producers like AVZ Minerals (ASX: AVZ) which hit a record high of $1.31 on Friday before closing up 5.26% at $1.30 – a far cry from the 15c levels it was at less than a year ago.

Lithium giant Allkem (ASX: AKE) added a lazy 8.5% for the day to close at $12.40 after hitting a record high of $12.47 during the day.

Star troubles will force board changes

It wasn’t all great news with the Star Entertainment Group (ASX: SGR) shares down 0.31% to $3.24 as the troubled casino company announced chairman John O’Neill would take over the chief executive officer duties while the casino operator finds a replacement for departed chief executive Matt Bekier.

Star has also announced that it needs “accelerated board change” after a forest of allegations of dodgy behaviour at a probity inquiry that led Mr Bekier to resign.

Shares in online property marketplace Domain Holdings (ASX: DHG) are in a trading halt ahead of a $180 million capital raising following the acquisition of Realbase, a real estate technology platform, for $180 million and a contingent consideration.

Domain said the buy will more than double its Agent Solutions’ revenue for the 2022 financial year and increases its market coverage from 35% to about 50% of all Australian property transactions.

Corporate Travel Management (ASX: CTD) also finalised the acquisition of Helloworld Travel’s (ASX: HLO) corporate and entertainment travel businesses in Australia & New Zealand which will see the company be the travel management provider for more than a quarter of ASX 200 companies.

Small cap stock action

The Small Ords index gained 0.5% this week to close on 3346.9 points.

ASX 200 vs Small Ords

Small cap companies making headlines this week were:

Recharge Metals (ASX: REC)

At its Brandy Hill South project, Recharge Metals has unearthed sulphide mineralisation, including visible copper during diamond drilling.

The sulphides, brecciated zones and visible copper were observed from 92m to end of hole, which reached 393m.

Following a maiden reverse circulation drilling program, Recharge selected three holes to extend with diamond tails to gather valuable structural and lithological information. This drill core will be sent for analysis with results to be reported once received.

Assays from the first four holes of the maiden RC program returned 12m at 1.2% copper from 74m, including 4m at 2.87% copper from 74m; and 1m at 5.92% copper from 147m.

Culpeo Minerals (ASX: CPO)

Another small cap to impress investors this week with visible copper in a drill intercept was Culpeo Minerals, which uncovered copper sulphides in the first hole of its maiden drilling program at Lana Corina in Chile.

Visible copper was noted from 50m to 250m.

Drilling at Lana Corina aimed to confirm the presence of copper in near-surface breccia pipes and verify historical results.

In the maiden program at Lana Corina, Culpeo will drill eight holes totalling 4,000m.

InhaleRx (ASX: IRX)

The Victorian Government’s Department of Health and Human Services has awarded InhaleRx its licence to store and sell controlled substances, including medicinal cannabis.

InhaleRx executive director Darryl Davies said securing the licence was an “important milestone” for the company – enabling it to store and distribute scheduled medications.

He said it opens the door for InhaleRx to create new products and build additional revenue streams.

Respiri (ASX: RSH)

In a bid to accelerate its expansion into the North American market, Respiri has secured New York-based EAS Advisors LLC to guide its efforts.

EAS principal and founder Edward Sugar said he was looking forward to working with Respiri as it rolls-out its wheezo asthma monitoring device and technology in the US.

“We have seen the impressive work EAS has done with other ASX-listed companies in bringing them to a wider US audience and we are delighted to be working with the firm as we continue our growth in that market,” Respiri chief executive officer and managing director Marjan Mikel said.

Respiri launched its wheezo device in the US in December last year under a remote patient monitoring program, and it has received a positive initial response.

ioneer (ASX: INR)

US-based NexTech Batteries has agreed to purchase lithium carbonate and/or lithium hydroxide from ioneer’s Rhyolite Ridge lithium-boron project in Nevada.

NextTech plans to use the lithium chemicals from Rhyolite Ridge to manufacture next generation solid-state batteries, which are expected to “revolutionise the automotive industry”, as well as renewables, portable electronics, and drone applications.

“NexTech is pleased to work with a supplier that is aligned with our mission of making batteries more affordable, more sustainable and safer through patented lithium-sulphur science that’s poised to disrupt multiple industries,” NexTech chief executive officer Bill Burger said.

ioneer intends to produce upwards of 22,000t of lithium chemicals a year for US’ domestic battery supply chain.

Vintage Energy (ASX: VEN)

Spudding of the Cervantes-1 oil exploration well has occurred for Vintage Energy and joint venture partners Metgasco and RCMA Australia.

The well is expected to take about 16 days to reach its desired depth of 2,370m.

Vintage is paying 50% of the well’s costs to earn a 30% stake in the well, and wider Cervantes prospect, which are located in the onshore Perth Basin in Western Australia.

Over in Queensland’s Cooper Basin, Vintage and its partners have acquired their respective shares from Beach Energy’s 15% interest in PRL 211, which contains the Odin and Vali gas fields.

Vintage officially owns 50% of PRL 211 and is operator. The company’s share of the 2C contingent resource now totals 17.5 billion cubic feet of gas.

Tempest Minerals (ASX: TEM)

Another small cap with a copper discovery this week was Tempest Minerals, which unearthed visible copper during maiden drilling at the Orion target within its Meleya project in WA’s Yalgoo region.

The first hole of a deep two-hole drilling program hit multiple zones of sulphide minerals, with copper minerals such as chalcopyrite observed throughout the core and supported by portable XRF readings.

Tempest managing director Don Smith said the presence of visible copper and sulphide minerals was a “spectacular outcome”.

“To make a new discovery on our very first hole in an entirely untested region has far exceeded our expectations,” he said.

The week ahead

The biggest event to watch out for by far in the coming week is the Reserve Bank board meeting which will help to solidify the course of official interest rates for the rest of the year.

While rates are not expected to move from the current 0.1% level, there may be some movement on the forward guidance to fight growing inflationary pressures.

At the moment, the market is tipping a lot more rises for this year than the RBA itself so the meeting might bring the two parties closer together.

Other local releases to look out for include retail trade, job advertisements, inflation, consumer confidence, new car sales, international trade and the Reserve Bank financial stability review.

","source":"lsy1647655037355","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; This drill core will be sent for analysis with results to be reported once received.Assays from the first four holes of the maiden RC program returned 12m at 1.2% copper from 74m, including 4m at 2.87% copper from 74m; and 1m at 5.92% copper from 147m.Culpeo Minerals (ASX: CPO)Another small cap to impress investors this week with visible copper in a drill intercept was Culpeo Minerals, which uncovered copper sulphides in the first hole of its maiden drilling program at Lana Corina in Chile.Visible copper was noted from 50m to 250m.Drilling at Lana Corina aimed to confirm the presence of copper in near-surface breccia pipes and verify historical results. In the maiden program at Lana Corina, Culpeo will drill eight holes totalling 4,000m.InhaleRx (ASX: IRX)The Victorian Government’s Department of Health and Human Services has awarded InhaleRx its licence to store and sell controlled substances, including medicinal cannabis.InhaleRx executive director Darryl Davies said securing the licence was an “important milestone” for the company – enabling it to store and distribute scheduled medications. He said it opens the door for InhaleRx to create new products and build additional revenue streams.Respiri (ASX: RSH)In a bid to accelerate its expansion into the North American market, Respiri has secured New York-based EAS Advisors LLC to guide its efforts.EAS principal and founder Edward Sugar said he was looking forward to working with Respiri as it rolls-out its wheezo asthma monitoring device and technology in the US.“We have seen the impressive work EAS has done with other ASX-listed companies in bringing them to a wider US audience and we are delighted to be working with the firm as we continue our growth in that market,” Respiri chief executive officer and managing director Marjan Mikel said.Respiri launched its wheezo device in the US in December last year under a remote patient monitoring program, and it has received a positive initial response.ioneer (ASX: INR)US-based NexTech Batteries has agreed to purchase lithium carbonate and/or lithium hydroxide from ioneer’s Rhyolite Ridge lithium-boron project in Nevada.NextTech plans to use the lithium chemicals from Rhyolite Ridge to manufacture next generation solid-state batteries, which are expected to “revolutionise the automotive industry”, as well as renewables, portable electronics, and drone applications.“NexTech is pleased to work with a supplier that is aligned with our mission of making batteries more affordable, more sustainable and safer through patented lithium-sulphur science that’s poised to disrupt multiple industries,” NexTech chief executive officer Bill Burger said.ioneer intends to produce upwards of 22,000t of lithium chemicals a year for US’ domestic battery supply chain.Vintage Energy (ASX: VEN)Spudding of the Cervantes-1 oil exploration well has occurred for Vintage Energy and joint venture partners Metgasco and RCMA Australia. The well is expected to take about 16 days to reach its desired depth of 2,370m.Vintage is paying 50% of the well’s costs to earn a 30% stake in the well, and wider Cervantes prospect, which are located in the onshore Perth Basin in Western Australia.Over in Queensland’s Cooper Basin, Vintage and its partners have acquired their respective shares from Beach Energy’s 15% interest in PRL 211, which contains the Odin and Vali gas fields.Vintage officially owns 50% of PRL 211 and is operator. The company’s share of the 2C contingent resource now totals 17.5 billion cubic feet of gas.Tempest Minerals (ASX: TEM)Another small cap with a copper discovery this week was Tempest Minerals, which unearthed visible copper during maiden drilling at the Orion target within its Meleya project in WA’s Yalgoo region. The first hole of a deep two-hole drilling program hit multiple zones of sulphide minerals, with copper minerals such as chalcopyrite observed throughout the core and supported by portable XRF readings.Tempest managing director Don Smith said the presence of visible copper and sulphide minerals was a “spectacular outcome”.“To make a new discovery on our very first hole in an entirely untested region has far exceeded our expectations,” he said. The week aheadThe biggest event to watch out for by far in the coming week is the Reserve Bank board meeting which will help to solidify the course of official interest rates for the rest of the year. While rates are not expected to move from the current 0.1% level, there may be some movement on the forward guidance to fight growing inflationary pressures. At the moment, the market is tipping a lot more rises for this year than the RBA itself so the meeting might bring the two parties closer together.Other local releases to look out for include retail trade, job advertisements, inflation, consumer confidence, new car sales, international trade and the Reserve Bank financial stability review.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":181,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9081856397,"gmtCreate":1650236565275,"gmtModify":1676534673264,"author":{"id":"4088208437016150","authorId":"4088208437016150","name":"Kc888","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/9775a7cdeae2036e11531351109b88a6","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4088208437016150","authorIdStr":"4088208437016150"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"<a The country's leading multiplex operator also announced a stock dividend that should shake out any potential fake or synthetic short positions in AMC.

It wasn't enough. The stock was trading more than 10% lower by Thursday night.

There's still a lot to like in AMC's flawed but encouraging performance. The market may not have been initially impressed, but the stock has rallied sharply since bottoming out in the single digits back in May. Besides, if you've plopped yourself down at an AMC screening lately, you know that there'll be plot twists until the final credits roll.

We've seen dramatic trading-day reversals at AMC before. Let's take a closer look at the good and the not so good in Thursday's developments.

Everything, everywhere all at once

AMC's revenue rose 162% to $1.1664 billion. It's a big move, but this was roughly in line with expectations.

We knew this would be a big step up for the exhibitor. Domestic box-office receipts for the industry in the second quarter soared 186%, compared to the weak slate in the springtime of last year. International exhibitors fared even better -- an important point since 22% of AMC's top-line results were international.

Taking a deeper dive into its stateside operations, AMC lost market share -- but this isn't a deal-breaker. The number of tickets that AMC sold in the U.S. for the quarter rose 144%, and the average price paid per ticket climbed 5.7%. Stack one on top of the other, and you arrive at a 153% year-over-year increase, a big move but well below the national pop. This isn't a failure on AMC's part as much as it is smaller chains finally gaining momentum after false starts earlier in the pandemic cycle.

The truly disappointing metric in terms of theater-level performance is that folks are starting to spend less after scanning their admissions to get into the local multiplex. The average food and beverage revenue per domestic patron has declined 5% over the past year, going from $7.91 to $7.52. The international drop is a more substantial 8% decline.

This also isn't awful news. It was only natural for folks to overspend early last year, when returning to the movies after a long absence was a novelty. It's still comfortably above pre-pandemic spending levels, and as long as it stabilizes here, AMC should be fine with this high-margin part of its business.

AMC's adjusted net loss -- once you take out the gain from the early extinguishment of debt and the hit from the sharp drop in market value of its Hycroft Mining investment -- clocks in at $102.8 million, or $0.20 a share. This is also roughly what analysts were modeling, but it's still encouraging to see AMC's adjusted bottom line generating less than a third of the red ink it was gushing a year earlier.

With its operating cash generated and adjusted EBITDA now firmly positive, AMC is in a better position to tackle its rising borrowing costs (because cash interest expense has climbed 60% over the past year).

Uncharted

In a move to bust the potential ring of fake short-sellers, AMC also declared a special dividend of an AMC Preferred share for every share outstanding. It will essentially be the equivalent of a 2-for-1 stock split, only the preferred stock will trade under the ticker symbol APE when it's distributed in two weeks.

The move is intended to smoke out illegal shorts, but once again, we had CEO Adam Aron tweeting on Thursday night that he's seen no evidence of synthetic shorting of the multiplex operator.

6. Candidly I've seen no evidence so-called fake or synthetic shares exist. But many of you disagree. This preferred equity dividend goes ONLY to company issued shares. So, it will have the impact of a "share count" or unique dividend many of you have sought. #TodayWePounce

Aron is giving some of the loudest retail shareholders what they want. As long as he also continues to give moviegoers what they want -- and that's just what we saw in the quarterly numbers -- AMC should be fine as the top dog of movie-theater stocks.

","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
AMC Stock: Sell on the Pounce?
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nAMC Stock: Sell on the Pounce?\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-08-07 11:33 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
AMC Entertainment gave shareholders nearly everything they wanted on Thursday. It's a big move, but this was roughly in line with expectations. We knew this would be a big step up for the exhibitor. Domestic box-office receipts for the industry in the second quarter soared 186%, compared to the weak slate in the springtime of last year. International exhibitors fared even better -- an important point since 22% of AMC's top-line results were international.Taking a deeper dive into its stateside operations, AMC lost market share -- but this isn't a deal-breaker. It's still comfortably above pre-pandemic spending levels, and as long as it stabilizes here, AMC should be fine with this high-margin part of its business.AMC's adjusted net loss -- once you take out the gain from the early extinguishment of debt and the hit from the sharp drop in market value of its Hycroft Mining investment -- clocks in at $102.8 million, or $0.20 a share. This is also roughly what analysts were modeling, but it's still encouraging to see AMC's adjusted bottom line generating less than a third of the red ink it was gushing a year earlier. With its operating cash generated and adjusted EBITDA now firmly positive, AMC is in a better position to tackle its rising borrowing costs (because cash interest expense has climbed 60% over the past year).UnchartedIn a move to bust the potential ring of fake short-sellers, AMC also declared a special dividend of an AMC Preferred share for every share outstanding. It will essentially be the equivalent of a 2-for-1 stock split, only the preferred stock will trade under the ticker symbol APE when it's distributed in two weeks. The move is intended to smoke out illegal shorts, but once again, we had CEO Adam Aron tweeting on Thursday night that he's seen no evidence of synthetic shorting of the multiplex operator.6. Candidly I've seen no evidence so-called fake or synthetic shares exist. But many of you disagree. This preferred equity dividend goes ONLY to company issued shares. So, it will have the impact of a \"share count\" or unique dividend many of you have sought. #TodayWePounceAron is giving some of the loudest retail shareholders what they want. As long as he also continues to give moviegoers what they want -- and that's just what we saw in the quarterly numbers -- AMC should be fine as the top dog of movie-theater stocks.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":101,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9094733616,"gmtCreate":1645233763914,"gmtModify":1676534011251,"author":{"id":"4088208437016150","authorId":"4088208437016150","name":"Kc888","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/9775a7cdeae2036e11531351109b88a6","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4088208437016150","authorIdStr":"4088208437016150"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Good luck","listText":"Good luck","text":"Good luck","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9094733616","repostId":"1154007444","repostType":2,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":599,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9918219237,"gmtCreate":1664406278429,"gmtModify":1676537446803,"author":{"id":"4088208437016150","authorId":"4088208437016150","name":"Kc888","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/9775a7cdeae2036e11531351109b88a6","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4088208437016150","authorIdStr":"4088208437016150"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9918219237","repostId":"2270419152","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2270419152","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1664377804,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2270419152?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-09-28 23:10","market":"us","language":"en","title":"5 ETFs Up 20% or More in the First Nine Months of 2022","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2270419152","media":"Zacks","summary":"Wall Street has been on a tough ride this year, with all the three major indices slipping into a bea","content":"

Wall Street has been on a tough ride this year, with all the three major indices slipping into a bear market (a drop of 20% or more from a recent high). Inflation is hovering near a 40-year high, dashing investors’ hopes with the possibility that price pressures would weaken.

Fed Chair Jerome Powell raised interest rates by another three-quarters of a percentage point in the meeting last week. This marks the third consecutive interest rate hike of 0.75% and brings the benchmark interest rate to 3.0-3.25%, the highest level since 2008. The increase in interest rates will make borrowing expensive, driving up the cost of buying a new car or house or push up the cost of carrying credit card debt and thus slow down economic growth. The central bank also signaled that additional large rate hikes were likely at the upcoming meetings as it combats inflation that remains near a 40-year high.

Fed officials now expect the federal funds rate in a range of 4.25% to 4.5%, a full percentage point above 3.25% to 3.5% to end 2022, projected in June. This suggests that the central bank could approve another three-quarter point hike at its November meeting and then a half-point rate rise in December. The rapid pace of tightening has bolstered the case for the economy falling into recession.

Further, bouts of weak economic data across the globe added to global slowdown fears. Economic activity in China, the world's second-largest economy, has been declining and the property sector is also suffering. It can help to complete complex tasks that weren't previously possible with human input, and fintech company Upstart Holdings (NASDAQ:UPST) is applying it to the lending process.
\n
Where most banks assess a borrower's income and assets to determine creditworthiness, Upstart's AI platform reviews thousands of data points, including where the borrower went to school, their level of education, and their job history.
\n
The company originates loans for banks in exchange for a fee, and it also licenses its platform to banks so they can integrate it into their existing application processes. The alternative metrics measured by Upstart's AI result in 173% more money loaned out for the same level of risk, and that's an attractive proposition for financiers.
\n
Second-quarter loan originations just grew 1,605% to $2.79 billion, prompting Upstart to materially increase its 2021 revenue guidance from $600 million to $750 million.
\n
\n
\n
\n

Metric

\n

2017

\n

2021 (Estimate)

\n

CAGR

\n
\n
\n
\n
\n

Revenue

\n

$57 million

\n

$750 million

\n

90%

\n
\n
\n
\n
Data source: Company filings.
\n
The company would have to grow revenues at a compound rate of 19% per year until 2030 for its stock price to rise fivefold, assuming its current price-to-sales ratio remained exactly the same. But as evidenced by the table above, it has plenty of room for multiple contraction with a much-faster 90% compound annual growth rate ovr the past four years.
\n
There's even significant upside potential to Upstart's financial performance. It just entered the automotive lending market, which is worth over $1.1 trillion, so considering that the company only originated $2.79 billion worth of loans in the most recent quarter, there is an enormous growth opportunity ahead.
\n
To speed up its expansion in this new market, it acquired software company Prodigy. Missing out on big returns can be stressful, especially when money earns next to nothing in the bank.\nBut it's important to remember this golden rule of investing: Time in the market is more important than timing the market. The precise moment that an investment is made becomes less important with a long-term time horizon.\nYou can start your journey with these two stocks that could grow fivefold by 2030, and they can be bought right now.\n\nImage source: Getty Images.\nThe case for Upstart\nArtificial intelligence (AI) is a technology that will play a pivotal role in the future of business. It can help to complete complex tasks that weren't previously possible with human input, and fintech company Upstart Holdings (NASDAQ:UPST) is applying it to the lending process.\nWhere most banks assess a borrower's income and assets to determine creditworthiness, Upstart's AI platform reviews thousands of data points, including where the borrower went to school, their level of education, and their job history.\nThe company originates loans for banks in exchange for a fee, and it also licenses its platform to banks so they can integrate it into their existing application processes. The alternative metrics measured by Upstart's AI result in 173% more money loaned out for the same level of risk, and that's an attractive proposition for financiers.\nSecond-quarter loan originations just grew 1,605% to $2.79 billion, prompting Upstart to materially increase its 2021 revenue guidance from $600 million to $750 million.\n\n\n\nMetric\n2017\n2021 (Estimate)\nCAGR\n\n\n\n\nRevenue\n$57 million\n$750 million\n90%\n\n\n\nData source: Company filings.\nThe company would have to grow revenues at a compound rate of 19% per year until 2030 for its stock price to rise fivefold, assuming its current price-to-sales ratio remained exactly the same. But as evidenced by the table above, it has plenty of room for multiple contraction with a much-faster 90% compound annual growth rate ovr the past four years.\nThere's even significant upside potential to Upstart's financial performance. It just entered the automotive lending market, which is worth over $1.1 trillion, so considering that the company only originated $2.79 billion worth of loans in the most recent quarter, there is an enormous growth opportunity ahead.\nTo speed up its expansion in this new market, it acquired software company Prodigy. It develops sales tools for car dealerships, and Upstart is integrating with that platform for the opportunity to finance some of its $1 billion in quarterly vehicle sales.\n\nImage source: Getty Images.\nThe case for Facebook\nTrillion-dollar social media giant Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) is embarking on a new mission to own the next generation of social technology. Baird analyst Peter Benedict to give a resounding Buy rating to the company’s stock. Here are a few of his takeaways from the management’s earnings commentary.Low-price retailer Walmart’s (NYSE: WMT) solid quarterly results from earlier this week proved its resilience and operational excellence in the face of severely uncertain market conditions. Robert W. Baird analyst Peter Benedict deliberated over the company’s quarterly performance and its current progress and emerged bullish on Walmart’s prospects.Too Many Upsides to IgnoreWalmart’s affordable products, especially in the grocery segment, helped pull more middle-to-high income customers to its stores as inflation rose to a 40-year high during Q2. Mentioning research firm Nielsen’s findings, Benedict noted that the company continues to gain market share in the grocery domain.Right-sizing its inventory is another step taken by Walmart, which Benedict believes will help the company operate better. Walmart has been focusing on reducing excess inventory, particularly in hardlines, since the first quarter of this year. Moreover, more pricing actions planned for Q3 place the company on a smoother road to optimized inventory in 2H.“Looking ahead, additional pricing actions planned for 3Q plus a reduction in forward buys (focused on reducing exposure to electronics/home/sporting goods) should help WMT enter the holiday season in cleaner shape both from an absolute level and mix of inventory,” Benedict observed. The analyst also highlighted Walmart’s constant efforts to update itself to suit the latest consumer behaviors. He believes that the strategy to redirect the company toward a fully-integrated omnichannel retail service has helped keep the chain ahead in competition “at a time when many traditional retailers are losing relevancy with consumers.”Additionally, the company is rapidly scaling its various other early-stage, higher-margin income streams, such as advertising, marketplace, fulfillment services, financial and healthcare services, and data monetization, which have led to a more diversified profit model and a hedge against the impact of market changes.Benedict noted, “These diversified profit pools represent valuable levers management can pull to fund reinvestment back into the customer value proposition (initiatives like Walmart+) while simultaneously driving sustained EBIT dollar growth.”Is WMT Stock a Good Buy Now?After carefully considering all the points, Benedict believes that Walmart can be a compelling stock to buy for the longer term. Needless to say, he reiterated a Buy rating on WMT stock and raised his price target to $155 from $140.Wall Street, in general, is also bullish on the stock. The sentiment is supported by 21 Buys and seven Holds.WMT’s average stock forecast reflects an average price target of $151.61, indicating 9% upside to current price levels.Closing RemarksAll in all, Walmart’s smart pricing, income diversification strategy, inventory right-sizing efforts, and operational excellence are the pillars that are holding the company strong against headwinds. Moreover, these are the factors that are expected to continue to drive the company toward further growth.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":125,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9905800986,"gmtCreate":1659843564147,"gmtModify":1703767025122,"author":{"id":"4088208437016150","authorId":"4088208437016150","name":"Kc888","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/9775a7cdeae2036e11531351109b88a6","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4088208437016150","authorIdStr":"4088208437016150"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9905800986","repostId":"1140000941","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1140000941","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1659838665,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1140000941?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-08-07 10:17","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Weekend Stock Spotlight: PayPal, General Electric, Ford And How Ethereum Miners Are Fighting The Merge","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1140000941","media":"Benzinga","summary":"ZINGER KEY POINTSWhy PayPal may have reached at an attractive level to buy the stock after falling 6","content":"

ZINGER KEY POINTS

Why PayPal may have reached at an attractive level to buy the stock after falling 68% from its high of around $308.

As Ethereum's upcoming Merge draws near, groups are making plans for forks to run the old version of Ethereum using miners.

In "GE Stock Is a Buy as Breakup Looms," Barron's Al Root writes that after more than 20 years of decline, General Electric Co is entering the final stages of a dismantling process that will leave just three parts remaining.

"Buy PayPal Stock.
