Since the beginning of the year, the broad-based S&P 500 and nearly 126-year-old Dow Jones Industrial Average have declined by more than 10% from their all-time closing highs. Things have been even more challenging for the tech-driven Nasdaq Composite, which has shed as much as 24% since its November peak and was firmly in a bear market as of early last week.

But where there's short-term pain, there's also an opportunity for long-term gains. That's because every stock market correction and bear market has eventually been wiped away by a bull market rally. When you invest in innovative stocks at a discount and allow your investment thesis to play out over time, there's a good chance you'll build wealth.

The following three surefire stocks are all trading at a discount during the market sell-off and have both the catalysts and intangibles necessary to turn a $200,000 investment into $1 million by 2030.

Nio

The first innovative company that has the potential to quintuple investors' money over the next eight years is China-based electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Nio.

Although supply chain concerns are never a positive, the important thing to note here is that Nio's near-term struggles have absolutely nothing to do with demand. This means opportunistic investors have the chance to buy this innovative EV maker at a substantial discount to its all-time high.

Nio's innovation comes in two forms. The first is readily apparent: its introduction of new vehicles. For example, the company's ET7 and ET5 sedans offer up to 621 miles of range with the top battery option. These sedans are direct competitors to Tesla's flagship sedans, the Model S and Model 3, and provide superior range (again, with the battery upgrade). China is the world's leading auto market, which gives Nio a large runway with which to gobble up market share with its premium sedans and SUVs.

The other way Nio is innovating is with its service. In August 2020, the company introduced its battery-as-a-service (BaaS) subscription, which allows its EV buyers to charge, swap, or upgrade their batteries. Enrollment in BaaS also provides a discount on the purchase price of a Nio EV. Despite giving up some near-term sales with BaaS, Nio locks in long-term subscription revenue and the loyalty of its early buyers.

Based on Wall Street's fluid forecast, Nio is on track to quadruple its sales by 2024, as well as turn the corner to recurring profitability. By 2023, most of the company's supply chain issues should be in the rearview mirror. That makes it a good bet to turn deliver 400% returns for shareholders by 2030.

Upstart Holdings

A second surefire stock that can deliver jaw-dropping sales and profit growth throughout the remainder of the decade is cloud-based lending platform Upstart Holdings.

The big knock against Upstart is that historically high inflation in the U.S. is coercing the nation's central bank to get aggressive with interest rate hikes. As a lending-based service, there's obvious concern that higher interest rates will dramatically slow loan-processing activity, which would be bad news for the company.

But Upstart has a few tricks up its sleeve. To begin with, its lending platform relies on artificial intelligence (AI). Whereas the traditional loan-vetting process can take weeks, approximately 70% of Upstart's loan applicants are fully automated and approved on the spot. This helps save lending institutions time and money.

What's interesting is that Upstart's AI-powered lending platform is helping to democratize loan access without adversely impacting lending institutions. Even though the average credit score of Upstart's approvals is lower than the average credit score of traditional loan approvals, there's been no difference in delinquency rates. As interest rates rise and the sheer number of loan applications to process declines, it's likely we'll see banks turn to Upstart even more than they are now given the success of its AI-driven lending platform.

Something else investors should note is that Upstart has no credit exposure and generated 94% of its revenue from fees and services. This means if a recession does strike and loan delinquencies rise, Upstart doesn't have to set aside capital to cover loan losses.

Looking a bit further out, Upstart should also benefit from its push into AI-based auto lending. The auto loan origination market is over seven times larger than the personal loan market it's been focused on for years. Upstart is in the very early innings of what should be sustained rapid growth.

Pinterest

The third surefire stock that can turn a $200,000 investment into a cool $1 million by 2030 is social media company Pinterest.

The pandemic has sent Pinterest on a roller-coaster ride. It initially soared on big user gains, with people stuck in their homes during the initial stages of the pandemic. But since the end of March 2021, declines in monthly active user (MAU) figures have left Wall Street skeptical of Pinterest's future. To add, there's also concern that Apple's iOS privacy changes, which allow app users to turn off data tracking, could inhibit ad-driven businesses like Pinterest.

However, neither of these near-term headwinds should be fazing long-term investors. For example, even though Pinterest's total MAUs have declined from a peak of 478 million to 433 million over the past year, panning out four or five years shows a steady uptrend in total MAUs. In other words, the MAU decline in recent quarters is simply user growth retracing back to historic norms following the unsustainable pandemic-related boost.

Additionally, regardless of whether MAUs have increased or declined on a year-over-year basis, Pinterest hasn't had any trouble monetizing its user base. The latest quarter, which featured 45 million fewer MAUs than the same quarter last year, saw global average revenue per user (ARPU) climb 28%, with European ARPU up an even more impressive 40%. This demonstrates that merchants are willing to pay a premium to reach Pinterest's user base. It also clearly suggests that international markets are where Pinterest's greatest opportunity lies.

Apple's iOS privacy changes aren't much to worry about, either. While other social media platforms have some guesswork to do in order to help advertisers target users, the entire premise of Pinterest's platform is for users to freely and willingly share the things, places, and services that interest them. This makes Pinterest incredibly valuable for merchants wanting to target specific interests.

Following a nearly 15-month downtrend, Pinterest looks ripe for the picking and fully capable of quintupling investors' money by the end of the decade.

","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
3 Surefire Stocks That Can Turn $200,000 Into $1 Million by 2030
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n3 Surefire Stocks That Can Turn $200,000 Into $1 Million by 2030\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-05-09 09:59 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Whether you're a new or tenured investor, you've been given a wake-up call in 2022 that stocks can go down just as easily as they can rise. As interest rates rise and the sheer number of loan applications to process declines, it's likely we'll see banks turn to Upstart even more than they are now given the success of its AI-driven lending platform.Something else investors should note is that Upstart has no credit exposure and generated 94% of its revenue from fees and services. This means if a recession does strike and loan delinquencies rise, Upstart doesn't have to set aside capital to cover loan losses.Looking a bit further out, Upstart should also benefit from its push into AI-based auto lending. The auto loan origination market is over seven times larger than the personal loan market it's been focused on for years. Upstart is in the very early innings of what should be sustained rapid growth.Image source: Pinterest.PinterestThe third surefire stock that can turn a $200,000 investment into a cool $1 million by 2030 is social media company Pinterest. In other words, the MAU decline in recent quarters is simply user growth retracing back to historic norms following the unsustainable pandemic-related boost.Additionally, regardless of whether MAUs have increased or declined on a year-over-year basis, Pinterest hasn't had any trouble monetizing its user base. It also clearly suggests that international markets are where Pinterest's greatest opportunity lies.Apple's iOS privacy changes aren't much to worry about, either. While other social media platforms have some guesswork to do in order to help advertisers target users, the entire premise of Pinterest's platform is for users to freely and willingly share the things, places, and services that interest them. This makes Pinterest incredibly valuable for merchants wanting to target specific interests.Following a nearly 15-month downtrend, Pinterest looks ripe for the picking and fully capable of quintupling investors' money by the end of the decade.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":256,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9083346043,"gmtCreate":1650074971017,"gmtModify":1676534641818,"author":{"id":"4088301618077100","authorId":"4088301618077100","name":"tiger suma","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4088301618077100","authorIdStr":"4088301618077100"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"If musk take over twitter price will go up? Airplanes, for example, are roughly 50-ton to 100-ton flying hunks of technology, while financial services companies almost exclusively rely on tech to process transactions and manage money. Cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and more are vital parts of many, if not most, industries these days.

So if you're looking for tech stocks to invest in to build wealth for retirement, you've got lots of options, perhaps even too many to narrow your choices adequately. To help you, here are three tech stock candidates to consider for your portfolio. Each is heavily involved in computing hardware and/or software and each has the potential to make you rich in retirement.

1. Adobe

Adobe's market cap hovers around $200 billion, it rakes in around $16 billion in revenue annually, and it employs roughly 26,000 people globally. You might know it for its flagship Photoshop software -- used by more than 90% of creative professionals, according to the company -- but there's much more to Adobe these days.

Adobe Stock is a repository of more than 290 million photos, videos, illustrations, and more that it licenses for use in multiple ways. Adobe is also the home to PDFs, and more than 300 billion of them were created last year. Meanwhile, Adobe facilitates digital signatures via its Adobe Document Cloud, which is used by most Fortune 100 companies.

The company has many irons in the fire and is well-positioned to profit as cloud-based systems proliferate. Its stock, meanwhile, isn't exactly dirt-cheap but it has recently been sporting P/E ratios, a price-to-sales ratio, and a price-to-cash-flow ratio well below their five-year averages, suggesting it's attractively priced.

2. Digital Realty Trust

Digital Realty Trust is a real estate investment trust (REIT) -- which means the special tax structure it operates under requires it to return at least 90% of taxable earnings to shareholders, typically through dividends. The stock's dividend recently yielded an appealing 3.35% -- and it has been increased at an average annual rate of about 5.6% over the past five years.

REITs are a way to invest in real estate without buying actual real estate properties. They're companies that themselves buy a lot of real estate to rent out, collecting income via leases. Many REITs focus on one or a few real estate sectors, such as medical buildings, retail outlets, apartments, industrial sites, storage units, and so on. Digital Realty Trust has an especially attractive focus: data centers.

Cloud computing services sound like they store data up in the sky somewhere, but they actually stored it in special warehouses full of servers called data centers spread around the country (and the world). Digital Realty Trust recently boasted more than 280 data centers in almost 50 metropolitan areas in some 25 countries across six continents. The company has been growing briskly, and still has plenty of room for further growth, in part via international expansion.

Chief Executive Officer A. William Stein noted in February: "Digital Realty delivered record bookings in the fourth quarter and for the full year, with over $500 million of new business globally in 2021, demonstrating the strength of our global value proposition. ... Demand for data center solutions remains robust, and we are investing organically as well as strategically to expand our global platform to provide customers the capacity and communities they require to execute their digital transformation strategies around the world."

3. Microsoft

Then there's Microsoft . It's long been known as a tech giant in software and products, but you might not be aware of how much is going on under the company's roof. There's the software side with the dominant Windows computer operating system and Microsoft 365 suite of productivity software. Microsoft also operates the Azure cloud-computing platform, builds various Surface touch-screen computing devices, sells Xbox gaming systems, and it even owns Skype and LinkedIn. Better still, it has been shifting to a subscription model with many of its offerings such as Office and Xbox, and that provides recurring revenue, favored by many investors and companies.

Microsoft has been a terrific growth stock, and it is a dividend-paying stock with a yield of 0.88%. That may not be super impressive, but the company's payout has been increasing at an average annual rate of about 9.7% over the past five years. Those buying now can expect larger distributions in the future.

Despite having a recent market valuation topping $2 trillion, Microsoft is still growing at a respectable clip, with its fiscal second-quarter (ended Dec. 31, 2021) revenue up 20% year over year and net income up 21%. Its cloud service is growing faster than the overall company, and it's bolting on some acquisitions to further growth, too -- such as its planned purchase of Activision Blizzard.

These attractive tech stocks have much promise and can help grow your retirement portfolio powerfully. Take a closer look at any that interest you.

","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
3 Top Tech Stocks That Could Help Make You Rich by Retirement
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n3 Top Tech Stocks That Could Help Make You Rich by Retirement\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-04-15 21:09 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\"Tech stocks\" is not as accurate a descriptor for a company as it used to be because it can be hard to find a company these days that doesn't employ technology in some way to carry out its business. ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"BK4550":"红杉资本持仓","BK4579":"人工智能","ADBE":"Adobe","BK4527":"明星科技股","MSFT":"微软","BK4503":"景林资产持仓","BK4097":"系统软件","BK4581":"高盛持仓","BK4504":"桥水持仓","BK4548":"巴美列捷福持仓","BK4528":"SaaS概念","BK4516":"特朗普概念","BK4023":"应用软件","BK4554":"元宇宙及AR概念","BK4532":"文艺复兴科技持仓","BK4534":"瑞士信贷持仓","BK4567":"ESG概念","BK4576":"AR","BK4533":"AQR资本管理(全球第二大对冲基金)","REIT":"ALPS Active REIT ETF","BK4525":"远程办公概念","BK4566":"资本集团","BK4535":"淡马锡持仓","BK4577":"网络游戏","BK4538":"云计算"},"source_url":"https://www.fool.com/investing/2022/04/15/top-tech-stocks-help-make-you-rich-retirement/","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"2227604615","content_text":"\"Tech stocks\" is not as accurate a descriptor for a company as it used to be because it can be hard to find a company these days that doesn't employ technology in some way to carry out its business. They're companies that themselves buy a lot of real estate to rent out, collecting income via leases. Many REITs focus on one or a few real estate sectors, such as medical buildings, retail outlets, apartments, industrial sites, storage units, and so on. Digital Realty Trust has an especially attractive focus: data centers.Cloud computing services sound like they store data up in the sky somewhere, but they actually stored it in special warehouses full of servers called data centers spread around the country (and the world). Digital Realty Trust recently boasted more than 280 data centers in almost 50 metropolitan areas in some 25 countries across six continents. The company has been growing briskly, and still has plenty of room for further growth, in part via international expansion.Chief Executive Officer A. William Stein noted in February: \"Digital Realty delivered record bookings in the fourth quarter and for the full year, with over $500 million of new business globally in 2021, demonstrating the strength of our global value proposition. ... Demand for data center solutions remains robust, and we are investing organically as well as strategically to expand our global platform to provide customers the capacity and communities they require to execute their digital transformation strategies around the world.\"3. Microsoft Then there's Microsoft . Better still, it has been shifting to a subscription model with many of its offerings such as Office and Xbox, and that provides recurring revenue, favored by many investors and companies.Microsoft has been a terrific growth stock, and it is a dividend-paying stock with a yield of 0.88%. That may not be super impressive, but the company's payout has been increasing at an average annual rate of about 9.7% over the past five years. Those buying now can expect larger distributions in the future.Despite having a recent market valuation topping $2 trillion, Microsoft is still growing at a respectable clip, with its fiscal second-quarter (ended Dec. Take a closer look at any that interest you.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":337,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9083398197,"gmtCreate":1650071228613,"gmtModify":1676534640057,"author":{"id":"4088301618077100","authorId":"4088301618077100","name":"tiger suma","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4088301618077100","authorIdStr":"4088301618077100"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Twitter stock price go up or will drop more? Electric vehicle (EV) innovator Tesla(NASDAQ:TSLA) has demonstrated an ability to withstand the supply chain shortage. Ford hasn’t been so lucky. The legacy automaker recently reported a significant drop off in sales the previous year, sending F stock down. Now, investors are left with questions regarding the future of the EV sector.

What’s Happening With F Stock

Yesterday,CNBCreported that Ford’s sales had declined 17% during the first quarter of 2022. The company cited the industry-wide chip shortage. F stock had already been declining, but since the news broke, its downward pattern has accelerated. As of this writing, it is down about 5%. Ford isn’t the company only plagued by a lack of chips.Toyota (NYSE:TM) reported similar figures and is currently down 2.6% for the day.

Let’s take a closer look at Ford and what its future may hold.

Why It Matters

In August 2021,Scientific American predicted that the chip shortage was likely to slow production and rollouts across the EV sector. While this forecast wasn’t incorrect, the lack of available chips has certainly affected some companies more than others. This has become apparent by the figures reported by the sector’s most prominent companies.

Ford’s reported sales for the quarter were 432,132. While that figure was in line with analyst expectations, falling sales figures don’t inspire investor confidence. And while it’s easy to understand that the chip shortage made it hard for vehicle production to keep pace with demand, it’s difficult to ignore the fact that Tesla has managed to do exactly that. The leader of the EV race set a record for sales, while legacy automakers saw theirs fall.

At $15.88, F stock remains considerably below the TipRanks average price targetof $22.53. Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas, who is bullish on TSLA stock, maintains his “sell” rating and $13 price target on Ford. His most recent predictions for F stock were bearish, and they don’t appear to have changed following the recent sales statistics. And even bullish analysts, such as Wells Fargo’s (NYSE:WFC) Colin Langan have recently lowered their price targets.

No one should be surprised by Ford’s declining sales.InvestorPlace contributor Brian Paradza recently listed it among stocks hit hardest by the supply chain crisis. While its true that some investors may see these declines in F stock as a buy-the-dip opportunity, nothing we have seen from Ford this season has been encouraging.

What It Means

Through it all, Ford continues the narrative that it will see sales increase in the coming months. It has touted the popularity of its Bronco lineup,a reissue of an iconic former model. Whether it can pull Ford back into the green remains to be seen. What’s clear is that Ford’s foray into the EV sector hasn’t saved it so far. The company has proven it can’t compete with Tesla at the EV leader’s game even while it offers lower prices. While the supply chain crisis isn’t Ford’s fault, it shouldn’t be ignored that Tesla found ways to stay ahead through difficult times and Ford did not.

Some experts have touted the trend of insiders doubling down on F stock. While it should be reassuring for investors to see, it hasn’t helped the company overcome its troubling sales figures.

When you invest in innovative stocks at a discount and allow your investment thesis to play out over time, there's a good chance you'll build wealth.Image source: Getty Images. The following three surefire stocks are all trading at a discount during the market sell-off and have both the catalysts and intangibles necessary to turn a $200,000 investment into $1 million by 2030.NioThe first innovative company that has the potential to quintuple investors' money over the next eight years is China-based electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Nio.Although supply chain concerns are never a positive, the important thing to note here is that Nio's near-term struggles have absolutely nothing to do with demand. This means opportunistic investors have the chance to buy this innovative EV maker at a substantial discount to its all-time high.Nio's innovation comes in two forms. China is the world's leading auto market, which gives Nio a large runway with which to gobble up market share with its premium sedans and SUVs.The other way Nio is innovating is with its service. In August 2020, the company introduced its battery-as-a-service (BaaS) subscription, which allows its EV buyers to charge, swap, or upgrade their batteries. Enrollment in BaaS also provides a discount on the purchase price of a Nio EV. Despite giving up some near-term sales with BaaS, Nio locks in long-term subscription revenue and the loyalty of its early buyers.Based on Wall Street's fluid forecast, Nio is on track to quadruple its sales by 2024, as well as turn the corner to recurring profitability. By 2023, most of the company's supply chain issues should be in the rearview mirror. That makes it a good bet to turn deliver 400% returns for shareholders by 2030.Image source: Getty Images.Upstart HoldingsA second surefire stock that can deliver jaw-dropping sales and profit growth throughout the remainder of the decade is cloud-based lending platform Upstart Holdings.

Airplanes, for example, are roughly 50-ton to 100-ton flying hunks of technology, while financial services companies almost exclusively rely on tech to process transactions and manage money. Cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and more are vital parts of many, if not most, industries these days.So if you're looking for tech stocks to invest in to build wealth for retirement, you've got lots of options, perhaps even too many to narrow your choices adequately. To help you, here are three tech stock candidates to consider for your portfolio. Each is heavily involved in computing hardware and/or software and each has the potential to make you rich in retirement.1. AdobeAdobe's market cap hovers around $200 billion, it rakes in around $16 billion in revenue annually, and it employs roughly 26,000 people globally. You might know it for its flagship Photoshop software -- used by more than 90% of creative professionals, according to the company -- but there's much more to Adobe these days.Adobe Stock is a repository of more than 290 million photos, videos, illustrations, and more that it licenses for use in multiple ways. Its stock, meanwhile, isn't exactly dirt-cheap but it has recently been sporting P/E ratios, a price-to-sales ratio, and a price-to-cash-flow ratio well below their five-year averages, suggesting it's attractively priced.2. Digital Realty Trust Digital Realty Trust is a real estate investment trust (REIT) -- which means the special tax structure it operates under requires it to return at least 90% of taxable earnings to shareholders, typically through dividends. The stock's dividend recently yielded an appealing 3.35% -- and it has been increased at an average annual rate of about 5.6% over the past five years.REITs are a way to invest in real estate without buying actual real estate properties.
