buy Tesla stock, as it's backed by an important growth catalyst.","content":"

Tesla has delivered astounding returns for investors in recent years. It's emerging as an iconic brand that people aspire to own. Most importantly, Tesla has found a profitable path to deliver long-term growth, which the top automakers are struggling to do these days.

Despite tremendous brand power, Tesla faces mounting pressures in the near term, including softening demand in China, which may force the company to lower selling prices on certain models. These headwinds have sent the stock down 56% from its peak in 2021.

I believe the bear market is the perfect opportunity for those who have been on the fence over Tesla's high valuation to add shares to their portfolio. Here are two signs that Tesla's remarkable run is not over.

1. Cybertruck is coming

Tesla CEO Elon Musk unveiled the company's first truck in 2019 to much fanfare. The company planned to launch its first pickup at an affordable price of less than $40,000. With delays in production and high inflation driving up the cost of parts and labor, it will likely debut a bit pricier than originally projected. Regardless, it seems Tesla will try to price the vehicle to compete with the Ford F-150 -- the top-selling vehicle in the U.S. last year.

The F-150 is Ford's highest-volume vehicle, but Tesla could take some share away from the industry leader. Cybertruck might be the most highly anticipated electric vehicle launch to date, with a reported 3 million already having placed a reservation to order. For context, that is nearly 10 times the total amount of deliveries Tesla made in the third quarter alone, which indicates a major future sales driver.

Americans love their trucks, so it wouldn't be surprising for Cybertruck to become Tesla's best-selling vehicle. During the third-quarter earnings call, Musk said, "We're in the final lap for Cybertruck," with production scheduled to begin by the middle of 2023.

2. Tesla is rapidly growing profits

Tesla not only has a major upcoming growth catalyst in Cybertruck, but investors should also take comfort in the fact that Tesla is a rare electric vehicle maker that is profitable. Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas recently noted that "Tesla is the only name we cover that generates a profit (before incentives) on the sale of EVs."

Through the first three quarters of 2022, Tesla earned a net profit of $8.9 billion on $57 billion of revenue. That is much better than Ford's net loss of $3.3 billion on revenue of $114 billion.

Tesla has a superior record of generating profitable growth compared to leading car manufacturers, which is why the stock has soared. Tesla is currently generating about 10 times the level of profit it produced five years ago, while Ford and General Motors have struggled to generate an adequate profit margin.

Data by YCharts.

As Ford and GM crank up their EV operations to compete, Tesla's profitability gives it a major financial advantage to build a better product and provide superior service to its customers.

Tesla is on pace to increase production by 50% heading into 2023. It's emerging as an iconic brand that people aspire to own. Most importantly, Tesla has found a profitable path to deliver long-term growth, which the top automakers are struggling to do these days.Despite tremendous brand power, Tesla faces mounting pressures in the near term, including softening demand in China, which may force the company to lower selling prices on certain models. These headwinds have sent the stock down 56% from its peak in 2021.I believe the bear market is the perfect opportunity for those who have been on the fence over Tesla's high valuation to add shares to their portfolio. Here are two signs that Tesla's remarkable run is not over.1. Cybertruck is comingTesla CEO Elon Musk unveiled the company's first truck in 2019 to much fanfare. For context, that is nearly 10 times the total amount of deliveries Tesla made in the third quarter alone, which indicates a major future sales driver.Americans love their trucks, so it wouldn't be surprising for Cybertruck to become Tesla's best-selling vehicle. During the third-quarter earnings call, Musk said, \"We're in the final lap for Cybertruck,\" with production scheduled to begin by the middle of 2023.2. Tesla is rapidly growing profitsTesla not only has a major upcoming growth catalyst in Cybertruck, but investors should also take comfort in the fact that Tesla is a rare electric vehicle maker that is profitable. Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas recently noted that \"Tesla is the only name we cover that generates a profit (before incentives) on the sale of EVs.\"Through the first three quarters of 2022, Tesla earned a net profit of $8.9 billion on $57 billion of revenue. That is much better than Ford's net loss of $3.3 billion on revenue of $114 billion.Tesla has a superior record of generating profitable growth compared to leading car manufacturers, which is why the stock has soared. Tesla is currently generating about 10 times the level of profit it produced five years ago, while Ford and General Motors have struggled to generate an adequate profit margin.Data by YCharts. As Ford and GM crank up their EV operations to compete, Tesla's profitability gives it a major financial advantage to build a better product and provide superior service to its customers.Tesla is on pace to increase production by 50% heading into 2023. This is clearly in preparation to meet growing demand, which will only continue to increase with its first truck. Musk has called Cybertruck a \"hall of famer, next level\" vehicle that is going to be \"sick and sick.\"These are the reasons I believe now is a great opportunity to invest in Tesla stock. It's trading at a discount to where it will likely trade when the market is in a better mood.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":269,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":664918953,"gmtCreate":1667690766874,"gmtModify":1676537951953,"author":{"id":"4088385690147910","authorId":"4088385690147910","name":"robinlim57","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/9641844ee8f3d213645a6d6b7543352f","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4088385690147910","authorIdStr":"4088385690147910"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"<a It's emerging as an iconic brand that people aspire to own.

This is clearly in preparation to meet growing demand, which will only continue to increase with its first truck. Musk has called Cybertruck a "hall of famer, next level" vehicle that is going to be "sick and sick."

These are the reasons I believe now is a great opportunity to invest in Tesla stock. pandemic may seem like a distant memory now, but it had the effect of boosting the fortunes of several sectors such as technology, rubber gloves, and personal protective equipment.
\n
As countries around the world lifted movement restrictions and reopened their borders, demand also correspondingly plunged as people welcome some semblance of pre-pandemic normalcy.
\n
Top Glove Corporation Berhad (SGX: BVA) is one such business.
\n
The world’s largest glove manufacturer, which has a production capacity of 100 billion pieces per annum, saw its share price plunge from a high of S$3.10 in August 2020 to S$0.18 in September last year.
\n
However, in the last week, the share price of Top Glove has jumped 21.4% from S$0.21 to close at S$0.255.
\n
Could the glove maker be poised for a turnaround and see its share price head higher?
\n
Weak earnings to persist in the near term
\n
Last week, Top Glove released its fiscal 2023’s second quarter (2Q FY2023) earnings for the period ending 28 February 2023.
\n
The glove maker saw its revenue plunge by 58.2% year on year from RM 1.48 billion to RM 618 million.
\n
Operating expenses, however, fell by just 43.1% year on year to RM 785.8 million.
\n
Top Glove ended up incurring an operating loss of RM 142.8 million and a net loss of RM 164.7 million.
\n
On a quarter on quarter (qoq) basis, its numbers remained relatively flat.
\n
Revenue dipped by 2% qoq from RM 633 million in 1Q FY2023 while net loss was 2% lower qoq.
\n
The good news is that sales volume grew 6% qoq as customers showed signs of replenishing their inventories.
\n
Top Glove continued to generate negative free cash flow for the first half of fiscal 2023 (1H FY2023).
\n
The group reported a free cash outflow of RM 272.2 million for 1H FY2023, a sharp improvement over the free cash outflow of RM 571.3 million in the previous corresponding period.
\n
The glove maker ended the period with RM 703.9 million of cash and investment securities along with RM 432.3 million of debt.
\n
The average selling price continues to decline
\n
Despite the rise in sales volume, the average selling price (ASP) continues to be under pressure.
\n
The overall ASP slid by 4% qoq due to a combination of oversupply and intense competition.
\n
Drilling into the details, nitrile gloves saw their ASP fall 1% qoq while natural rubber gloves suffered a 6% qoq drop in ASP.

\n
Although customers are seeing their glove stockpiles diminishing, they are in no rush to place large orders, resulting in lower utilisation rates among manufacturers.
\n
With more players in the market, as the pandemic saw the influx of new glove manufacturers, ASP will continue to be under pressure.
\n
There is some good news though – Top Glove has raised its ASP effective February and the positive effect should flow through into 3Q FY2023.
\n
With nitrile and natural rubber gloves making up 70% of the group’s product mix in 2Q FY2023, investors should hopefully see some positive impact on sales and margins in the next quarter.
\n
A mixed picture for production costs
\n
Top Glove is enjoying some respite from higher fuel prices caused by inflation.
\n
Fuel costs take up 18% of its 2Q FY2023 production cost breakdown and natural gas tariffs are expected to decline by 15% come April 2023.
\n
However, electricity tariffs will surge by 42% effective from the beginning of this year, though this component makes up just 4% of Top Glove’s production cost.
\n
Raw material prices take up a significant 36% of production costs and are not easing anytime soon.
\n
Nitrile prices are expected to increase by 8% month on month for March to around US$0.95 per kg, though this level is still way below the US$2.42 per kg logged at the end of 2020.
\n
Latex prices are also rising steadily and will only stabilise after the wintering season ends in May.
\n
All in, Top Glove’s production costs are expected to remain high, and the only way the group can earn a decent margin is if it can further raise its ASPs in the coming months.
\n
Get Smart: Too early to tell
\n
It is too early to tell if the glovemaker’s troubles are over.
\n
The oversupply situation in the glove sector looks set to persist until the end of 2023 and competition remains stiff.
\n
Late last year, Top Glove had already deferred all its capital expenditure for new capacity and will continue to focus on cost rationalisation initiatives.
\n
ASP may be close to bottoming, but the jury is out as to whether the glove maker can post better financial numbers for the rest of this year.
\n
If you’re looking to invest in 2023, our latest FREE report can guide you. residential and investment properties across 104 locations in 29 countries and regions.

The property giant reported a turnaround for its latest fiscal 2022 first half (1H2022)earnings.

Revenue climbed 23.5% year on year to S$1.47 billion while net profit hit S$1.1 billion, a sharp reversal from the S$32.1 million net loss a year ago.

The record net with total revenue rising 23.3% year on year to S$270.1 million mainly due to higher tin mining and smelting revenue.

In particular, the real estate segment recorded an exceptional gain of S$658.1 million from the disposal of shares in ARA Asset Management Limited.

To reward shareholders, STC has proposed a special dividend in specie of either 180 shares of STC for every 1,000 shares held, or 145 shares of ESR Group Limited(HKSE: 1821).

The group expects to continue benefitting from current tin prices and will expand its mining pit eastward to improve throughput volume.

However, STC remains cautious about its hospitality segment where its recovery could be threatened by economic uncertainties and rising costs.

CapitaLand Investment Limited (SGX: 9CI)

CapitaLand Investment Limited, or CLI, had S$125 billion of real estate assets under management and S$86 billion of funds under management as of 30 June 2022.

CLI presented a good set of financial numbers for fiscal 2021 (FY2021), with revenue increasing 15.6% year on year and core net profit rising 12.2% year on year to S$497 million.

Because of the 29.1% year on year to S$1.35 billion while core net profit jumped 31.1% year on year to S$346 million.

If the group can maintain this momentum, investors may see an increase in the dividend for FY2022.

ComfortDelGro Corporation Limited (SGX: C52)

ComfortDelGro Corporation Limited, or CDG, is a land transport giant with a total fleet size of 34,000 buses, taxis and rental vehicles.

CDG saw a gradual recovery in its business as economic activity picked up in the majority of the countries that the group operates in, except for China.

1H2022 revenue inched up 6.7% year on year to S$1.86 billion.

Net profit surged by 30.4% year on year to S$118.7 million.

The jump in net profit was because of an exceptional gain of S$30.5 million recognised on the disposal of the Alperton property in London.

Because of this one-off gain, CDG declared a special dividend of S$0.0141 in addition to an interim dividend of S$0.0285.

Although CDG was recently replaced by Emperador Inc(SGX: EMI) within the Straits Times Index(SGX: ^STI), prospects look bright for the transport conglomerate.

Taxi revenue is expected to improve
