And volatility does not help ensure orderly and secure energy transitions — nor is it in the interest of either producers or consumers,\" the IEA said.\nOPEC+abandoned talks last weekthat would have boosted oil supply. Most delegates tentatively agreed to increase oil production by around 400,000 barrels per day in monthly installments from August until the remaining supply cuts were unwound. This was likely to extend supply cuts through to the end of 2022.\nThe UAE rejected these plans, however, insisting on a higher baseline from which cuts are calculated to better reflect its increased capacity.\nIt means no agreement has been reached on a possible increase in crude production beyond the end of July, leaving oil markets in a state of limbo just as global fuel demand recovers from the ongoing coronavirus crisis.\nOPEC+, which is dominated by Middle East crude producers, agreed to implement massive crude production cuts last year in an effort to support oil prices when the coronavirus pandemic coincided with a historic fuel demand shock.\nThe energy alliance has since met monthly to try to decide on the next phase of production policy.\nOPEC+ has not made progress in resolving the dispute between OPEC kingpin Saudi Arabia and the UAE, Reuters reported on Tuesday, citing unnamed OPEC+ sources. It makes the prospect of another policy meeting this week less likely.\nOil prices\nThe IEA said it expects global oil demand to rise by 5.4 million barrels per day this year and by a further 3 million barrels in 2022, largely unchanged from last month's forecast.\nMeanwhile, the \"remote\" possibility of a market share battle between producers is hanging over energy markets, the IEA said, warning that higher fuel prices and rising inflation could damage a fragile economic recovery.\nThe uncertainty over the potential global impact of the highly transmissible Covid-19 delta variant was also likely to temper market sentiment in the coming months, the group said.\nOil derrick pumps operate at the Inglewood Oil Field in Culver City, California, on Sunday, July 11, 2021.Kyle Grillot | Bloomberg | Getty Images\nInternational benchmark Brent crude futures traded at $75.57 a barrel on Tuesday morning, up 0.5% for the session, whileU.S. West Texas Intermediatefutures stood at $74.51, around 0.6% higher.\nOil prices rallied more than 45% in the first half of the year, supported by the rollout of Covid vaccines, a gradual easing of lockdown measures and record production cuts from OPEC+.\n\"While prices at these levels could increase the pace of electrification of the transport sector and help accelerate energy transitions, they could also put a drag on the economic recovery, particularly in emerging and developing countries,\" the IEA said.\nThese energy transitions refer to the necessary shift away from fossil fuel use to low-carbon alternatives in order to avert the worst effects of the climate emergency.\nIn a flagship report published in May, the IEA outlined how the energy sector \"holds the key\" to the world's climate challenge. It said that in order for the sector to fully decarbonize by 2050, a massive acceleration toward renewables, electric vehicles and energy-efficient building retrofits would need to coincide with a \"huge decline\" in the use of fossil fuels.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":169,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"hots":[{"id":815601585,"gmtCreate":1630672271947,"gmtModify":1676530372068,"author":{"id":"4088494712199650","authorId":"4088494712199650","name":"kinhou23","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4088494712199650","authorIdStr":"4088494712199650"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/815601585","repostId":"1136677026","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1136677026","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1630670958,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1136677026?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-09-03 20:09","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Toplines Before US Market Open on Friday","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1136677026","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"U.S. stock index futures held near record highs on Friday as all attention shifted to the highly ant","content":"
U.S. stock index futures held near record highs on Friday as all attention shifted to the highly anticipated jobs report that could feed into the Federal Reserve’s plans to taper its massive pandemic-era stimulus.
\n
At 8:05 a.m. ET, Dow E-minis were up 46 points, or 0.13%, S&P 500 E-minis were up 7.75 points, or 0.17% and Nasdaq 100 E-minis were up 25.75 points, or 0.17%.
\n
*Source From Tiger Trade, EST 08:05
\n
The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq have scaled all-time highs over the past few weeks on support from robust corporate earnings, but investors have grown cautious recently as the Fed issued hawkish signals while data pointed to a slowdown in a broader economic recovery.
\n
The labor market remains the key touchstone for the Fed, with Chair Jerome Powell hinting at the Jackson Hole Symposium last week that reaching full employment was a pre-requisite for the central bank to start paring back its asset purchases.
\n
Stocks making the biggest moves in the premarket:
\n
Netflix – The video streaming service’s stock remains on watch today after rising in 14 of the past 15 sessions and hitting an all-time high in Thursday’s session.
\n
MongoDB Inc. – MongoDB lost 24 cents per share for its latest quarter, narrower than the 39 cent loss that analysts anticipated. — The International Energy Agency on Tuesday warned that world oil markets are likely to remain volatile following a breakdown in talks between OPEC members and their non-OPEC allies, creating a no-win situation.\nIn its latest monthly oil market report, the IEA said energy market participants were closely monitoring the prospect of a deepening supply deficit if a deal was not reached by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its oil-producing allies, a group known as OPEC+.\n\"Oil markets are likely to remain volatile until there is clarity on OPEC+ production policy. And volatility does not help ensure orderly and secure energy transitions — nor is it in the interest of either producers or consumers,\" the IEA said.\nOPEC+abandoned talks last weekthat would have boosted oil supply. Most delegates tentatively agreed to increase oil production by around 400,000 barrels per day in monthly installments from August until the remaining supply cuts were unwound. This was likely to extend supply cuts through to the end of 2022.\nThe UAE rejected these plans, however, insisting on a higher baseline from which cuts are calculated to better reflect its increased capacity.\nIt means no agreement has been reached on a possible increase in crude production beyond the end of July, leaving oil markets in a state of limbo just as global fuel demand recovers from the ongoing coronavirus crisis.\nOPEC+, which is dominated by Middle East crude producers, agreed to implement massive crude production cuts last year in an effort to support oil prices when the coronavirus pandemic coincided with a historic fuel demand shock.\nThe energy alliance has since met monthly to try to decide on the next phase of production policy.\nOPEC+ has not made progress in resolving the dispute between OPEC kingpin Saudi Arabia and the UAE, Reuters reported on Tuesday, citing unnamed OPEC+ sources. It makes the prospect of another policy meeting this week less likely.\nOil prices\nThe IEA said it expects global oil demand to rise by 5.4 million barrels per day this year and by a further 3 million barrels in 2022, largely unchanged from last month's forecast.\nMeanwhile, the \"remote\" possibility of a market share battle between producers is hanging over energy markets, the IEA said, warning that higher fuel prices and rising inflation could damage a fragile economic recovery.\nThe uncertainty over the potential global impact of the highly transmissible Covid-19 delta variant was also likely to temper market sentiment in the coming months, the group said.\nOil derrick pumps operate at the Inglewood Oil Field in Culver City, California, on Sunday, July 11, 2021.Kyle Grillot | Bloomberg | Getty Images\nInternational benchmark Brent crude futures traded at $75.57 a barrel on Tuesday morning, up 0.5% for the session, whileU.S. West Texas Intermediatefutures stood at $74.51, around 0.6% higher.\nOil prices rallied more than 45% in the first half of the year, supported by the rollout of Covid vaccines, a gradual easing of lockdown measures and record production cuts from OPEC+.\n\"While prices at these levels could increase the pace of electrification of the transport sector and help accelerate energy transitions, they could also put a drag on the economic recovery, particularly in emerging and developing countries,\" the IEA said.\nThese energy transitions refer to the necessary shift away from fossil fuel use to low-carbon alternatives in order to avert the worst effects of the climate emergency.\nIn a flagship report published in May, the IEA outlined how the energy sector \"holds the key\" to the world's climate challenge. It said that in order for the sector to fully decarbonize by 2050, a massive acceleration toward renewables, electric vehicles and energy-efficient building retrofits would need to coincide with a \"huge decline\" in the use of fossil fuels.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":169,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
