term.\n
\n
Key Points
\n
\n
Palantir’s software helps clients drawn insights from vast amounts of siloed data, enabling them to make informed decisions.
\n
Square is disrupting the financial system, and its recent acquisition of Afterpay could be a big growth driver.
\n
\n
Robinhood has inspired a generation of young investors to jump into the stock market and start saving for the future. But that's just half the battle. The other half is learning to identify high-quality investment opportunities.
\n
For context, the average Robinhood user is 31 years old, meaning they have roughly three decades before retirement. Given that time horizon, a long-term buy and hold strategy can create life-changing wealth. With that in mind, bothPalantir (NYSE:PLTR) andSquare (NYSE:SQ) look like smart investments for Robinhood traders.
\n

\n
\n
1. Palantir Technologies Inc.
\n
Modern enterprises generate a tremendous amount of data. Unfortunately, they also rely on an ever-expanding number of applications and infrastructures, and the data created by those technologies is often stored across siloed systems.
\n
Palantir was designed to solve this problem. Its software platforms -- Gotham and Foundry -- allow clients to integrate, analyze, and understand data. To put it more simply, Palantir helps its clients operate more efficiently by making data-driven decisions.
\n
Gotham was specifically designed for government clients. American intelligence agencies have used this technology in counterterrorism efforts in places like Afghanistan and Iraq. Meanwhile, Foundry brings the same functionality to the commercial sector, helping clients solve complex problems across industries, from healthcare and energy to manufacturing and retail.
\n
In both cases, Palantir provides granular access controls, allowing clients to monitor and manage who can access data and for what purpose. The secure nature of its platform is further evidenced by the company's history with the CIA and FBI. These intelligence organizations use Gotham to extract insights from troves of top secret data -- and if they're satisfied with Palantir's security standards, I doubt many other companies will have objections.
\n
Financially, Palantir's numbers look pretty good. Revenue hit $1.1 billion in 2020, up 47% from the prior year, and sales growth actually accelerated to 49% in Q1 2021. On the bottom line, Palantir generated $116 million in free cash flow during the first quarter, and the company is now free-cash-flow positive on a trailing-12-month basis. In other words, the company can fund its operations without issuing new debt or equity.
\n
As a caveat, Palantir has just 149 clients, and the average revenue per client rose 29% to $8.1 million in Q1 2021. Investors should keep an eye on this in Q2 earnings, which will be reported on Aug. 12. As things stand, the company would take a big hit if it lost just a few customers.
\n
Despite this risk, I think the future looks bright for Palantir. Management puts its market opportunity at $119 billion, and the company believes it can grow revenue by at least 30% per year through 2025. That's why you should consider buying a few shares of this growth stock.
\n

\n
\n
2. Square
\n
Square's mission is to help everyone participate and thrive in the economy. To that end, its Seller ecosystem includes hardware, software, and services that help merchants manage their business across digital storefronts and physical locations.
\n
On the flip side, Square's Cash App ecosystem is designed for consumers. This product unifies banking and brokerage services, allowing users to send, spend, and invest money from a single platform. Notably, Square recently redesigned its user interface, simplifying the deposit process. That may sound trivial, but cash inflows are the primary driver of Cash App gross profit.
\n
Earlier this week, Square reported second-quarter results, and once again the numbers were impressive. Gross profit surged 91% to $1.1 billion, driven by strong growth in both the Seller and Cash App ecosystems. The company also reported a profit of $0.40 per diluted share, up from -$0.03 per diluted share in the prior year.
\n
Looking ahead, I think Square is well positioned to maintain its momentum. The company recently announced plans to acquire buy now, pay later (BNPL) firmAfterpay for $29 billion in stock. But that's just half the battle. The other half is learning to identify high-quality investment opportunities.\nFor context, the average Robinhood user is 31 years old, meaning they have roughly three decades before retirement. Given that time horizon, a long-term buy and hold strategy can create life-changing wealth. With that in mind, bothPalantir (NYSE:PLTR) andSquare (NYSE:SQ) look like smart investments for Robinhood traders.\n\nImage source: Getty Images\n1. Palantir Technologies Inc. \nModern enterprises generate a tremendous amount of data. Unfortunately, they also rely on an ever-expanding number of applications and infrastructures, and the data created by those technologies is often stored across siloed systems.\nPalantir was designed to solve this problem. Its software platforms -- Gotham and Foundry -- allow clients to integrate, analyze, and understand data. To put it more simply, Palantir helps its clients operate more efficiently by making data-driven decisions.\nGotham was specifically designed for government clients. American intelligence agencies have used this technology in counterterrorism efforts in places like Afghanistan and Iraq. Meanwhile, Foundry brings the same functionality to the commercial sector, helping clients solve complex problems across industries, from healthcare and energy to manufacturing and retail.\nIn both cases, Palantir provides granular access controls, allowing clients to monitor and manage who can access data and for what purpose. The secure nature of its platform is further evidenced by the company's history with the CIA and FBI. These intelligence organizations use Gotham to extract insights from troves of top secret data -- and if they're satisfied with Palantir's security standards, I doubt many other companies will have objections.\nFinancially, Palantir's numbers look pretty good. In other words, the company can fund its operations without issuing new debt or equity.\nAs a caveat, Palantir has just 149 clients, and the average revenue per client rose 29% to $8.1 million in Q1 2021. Investors should keep an eye on this in Q2 earnings, which will be reported on Aug. 12. As things stand, the company would take a big hit if it lost just a few customers.\nDespite this risk, I think the future looks bright for Palantir. Management puts its market opportunity at $119 billion, and the company believes it can grow revenue by at least 30% per year through 2025. That's why you should consider buying a few shares of this growth stock.\n\nImage source: Getty Images\n2. Square \nSquare's mission is to help everyone participate and thrive in the economy. To that end, its Seller ecosystem includes hardware, software, and services that help merchants manage their business across digital storefronts and physical locations.\nOn the flip side, Square's Cash App ecosystem is designed for consumers. This product unifies banking and brokerage services, allowing users to send, spend, and invest money from a single platform. Notably, Square recently redesigned its user interface, simplifying the deposit process. That may sound trivial, but cash inflows are the primary driver of Cash App gross profit.\nEarlier this week, Square reported second-quarter results, and once again the numbers were impressive. Gross profit surged 91% to $1.1 billion, driven by strong growth in both the Seller and Cash App ecosystems. The company also reported a profit of $0.40 per diluted share, up from -$0.03 per diluted share in the prior year.\nLooking ahead, I think Square is well positioned to maintain its momentum. The company recently announced plans to acquire buy now, pay later (BNPL) firmAfterpay for $29 billion in stock. Despite that big price tag, this move could supercharge growth across Square's business.\nHow will that happen? Afterpay's platform offers a range of benefits for sellers, including improved conversion, larger basket size, and increased purchase frequency. At the same time, the Cash App should see a boost in engagement, as users will be able to use the platform to discover merchants and BNPL offers.\nThat's why this stock looks like a smart long-term investment.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":397,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":893614416,"gmtCreate":1628259340935,"gmtModify":1703504160954,"author":{"id":"4088761875333320","authorId":"4088761875333320","name":"Grace87","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4088761875333320","idStr":"4088761875333320"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Oh","listText":"Oh","text":"Oh","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/893614416","repostId":"2157464672","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2157464672","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1628254320,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2157464672?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-08-06 20:52","market":"us","language":"en","title":"This Pot Stock Is the Industry's Biggest Bargain -- and I Just Bought It","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2157464672","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"When compared to its peers, this marijuana stock is a no-brainer buy.","content":"
\n When compared to its peers, this marijuana stock is a no-brainer buy.\n
\n
Key Points
\n
\n
The U.S. is the world's leading marijuana market.
\n
This cannabis stock has a three-state focus.
\n
Executives and insiders have skin in the game, which often bodes well for shareholders.
\n
\n
There are a number of high-growth industries that could make investors rich over the remainder of the decade, such as cloud-computing, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. The best answer I can offer is The Motley Fool's transparent disclosure policy. I simply couldn't go long enough without heaping praise on Jushi Holdings in my weekly articles to add it to my own portfolio. But after sitting on my hands for roughly two weeks -- a task easier said than done -- I was able to finally take the plunge.
\n
For the time being, Jushi is a relative small fry in the MSO space. It recently opened its 20th dispensary, 13 of which are located in Pennsylvania. Based on the company's pre-announced second-quarter operating results and management commentary, the expectation is it'll open seven additional Hello/Beyond retail locations in 2021, as well as gain two more dispensaries via acquisition.
\n
For some context here,Green Thumb Industries (OTC:GTBIF),Columbia Care (OTC:CCHWF),Trulieve Cannabis (OTC:TCNNF), andCuraleaf (OTC:CURLF) respectively have 60, 95, 96, and 108 operating dispensaries nationwide. Note, the Columbia Care figure is based on pro forma data (i.e., assuming all pending acquisitions close).
\n

\n
\n
What makes Jushi so special is the trio of states that'll likely comprise over 80% of its revenue this year: Pennsylvania, Illinois, and Virginia. What these states share in common is their limited license issuance, with regard to cultivation and retail licenses. Pennsylvania and Illinois both cap the number of allowable dispensaries, as well as the number of stores a single business can operate. Meanwhile, Virginia assigns dispensary licenses based on jurisdiction. The point is that these states are purposely reining in competition. Though that might sound bad on the surface, it's actually great news for Jushi. By limiting competition, it should be able to effectively build up its brand awareness and garner a loyal following without being steamrolled by a larger MSO.
\n
Despite is diminutive stature (a market cap of just $816 million), Jushi hasn't been afraid to make acquisitions. For instance, in early May, Jushi closed on a deal to boost its medical marijuana production capacity in Virginia, and also acquired two dispensaries in California. The Golden State is the largest cannabis market in the world, by annual sales. Having ended June with almost $127 million in cash and short-term investments, Jushi remains well-capitalized.
\n
I also believe it's worth pointing out that of the first $250 million in capital raised by Jushi since its inception, approximately $45 million was contributed by executives and insiders. Generally speaking, when executives and insiders have skin in the game, and the interests of management align with their shareholders, good things tend to happen.
\n
<<<图片加载中。。。>>>
\n
\n
Jushi's discount relative to its peers doesn't make sense
\n
Comparably speaking, Jushi is a mammoth value relative to its peers, in terms of sales potential and profitability. Here's a quick rundown of Wall Street's consensus sales and earnings-per-share (EPS) projections for some of the most popular MSOs by 2024.
\n
\n
Curaleaf: $3.13 billion in sales / $0.51 in EPS
\n
Green Thumb Industries: $2 billion in sales / $1.88 in EPS
\n
Trulieve Cannabis: $1.53 billion in sales / $2.89 in EPS
\n
Cresco Labs (OTC:CRLBF): $1.77 billion in sales / $0.67 in EPS
\n
Columbia Care: $1.39 billion in sales / $0.30 in EPS
\n
\n
Take note that I'm not in any way degrading these five MSOs. In fact, I've been pounding the table on all but Curaleaf as attractive long-term buys. But to put this data into some context, Curaleaf, Green Thumb, Trulieve, Cresco, and Columbia Care are respectively valued at price-to-sales ratios for 2024 of 2.6, 3.3, 3.8, 1.5, and 1. In terms of price-to-earnings ratios for 2024, we're looking at 23.4, 16.5, 11.3, 16.4, and 16, respectively.
\n
Now, take a closer look at what Wall Street envisions Jushi bringing to the table by 2024:
\n
\n
Jushi Holdings: $972 million in sales / $1.42 in EPS
\n
\n
Based on its current share price and market cap, we're looking at a price-to-sales ratio of 0.8 in 2024 and a P/E ratio in 2024 of just 3.4! That's how much cheaper Jushi is relative to its peers, and its relative discount doesn't make any sense.
\n
I've taken the plunge and plan to hold for years to come. Now, it's time to be patient and trust management to continue making the right moves.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
This Pot Stock Is the Industry's Biggest Bargain -- and I Just Bought It
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nThis Pot Stock Is the Industry's Biggest Bargain -- and I Just Bought It\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-08-06 20:52 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
When compared to its peers, this marijuana stock is a no-brainer buy.\n\nKey Points\n\nThe U.S. is the world's leading marijuana market.\nThis cannabis stock has a three-state focus.\nExecutives and ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{},"source_url":"https://www.fool.com/investing/2021/08/06/this-pot-stock-is-the-industrys-biggest-bargain/","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"2157464672","content_text":"When compared to its peers, this marijuana stock is a no-brainer buy.\n\nKey Points\n\nThe U.S. is the world's leading marijuana market.\nThis cannabis stock has a three-state focus.\nExecutives and insiders have skin in the game, which often bodes well for shareholders.\n\nThere are a number of high-growth industries that could make investors rich over the remainder of the decade, such as cloud-computing, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. By limiting competition, it should be able to effectively build up its brand awareness and garner a loyal following without being steamrolled by a larger MSO.\nDespite is diminutive stature (a market cap of just $816 million), Jushi hasn't been afraid to make acquisitions. For instance, in early May, Jushi closed on a deal to boost its medical marijuana production capacity in Virginia, and also acquired two dispensaries in California. The Golden State is the largest cannabis market in the world, by annual sales. Having ended June with almost $127 million in cash and short-term investments, Jushi remains well-capitalized.\nI also believe it's worth pointing out that of the first $250 million in capital raised by Jushi since its inception, approximately $45 million was contributed by executives and insiders. Generally speaking, when executives and insiders have skin in the game, and the interests of management align with their shareholders, good things tend to happen.\n<<<图片加载中。。。>>>\nImage source: Getty Images.\nJushi's discount relative to its peers doesn't make sense\nComparably speaking, Jushi is a mammoth value relative to its peers, in terms of sales potential and profitability. Here's a quick rundown of Wall Street's consensus sales and earnings-per-share (EPS) projections for some of the most popular MSOs by 2024.\n\nCuraleaf: $3.13 billion in sales / $0.51 in EPS\nGreen Thumb Industries: $2 billion in sales / $1.88 in EPS\nTrulieve Cannabis: $1.53 billion in sales / $2.89 in EPS\nCresco Labs (OTC:CRLBF): $1.77 billion in sales / $0.67 in EPS\nColumbia Care: $1.39 billion in sales / $0.30 in EPS\n\nTake note that I'm not in any way degrading these five MSOs. In terms of price-to-earnings ratios for 2024, we're looking at 23.4, 16.5, 11.3, 16.4, and 16, respectively.\nNow, take a closer look at what Wall Street envisions Jushi bringing to the table by 2024:\n\nJushi Holdings: $972 million in sales / $1.42 in EPS\n\nBased on its current share price and market cap, we're looking at a price-to-sales ratio of 0.8 in 2024 and a P/E ratio in 2024 of just 3.4! That's how much cheaper Jushi is relative to its peers, and its relative discount doesn't make any sense.\nI've taken the plunge and plan to hold for years to come. Now, it's time to be patient and trust management to continue making the right moves.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":406,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":893616907,"gmtCreate":1628259222409,"gmtModify":1703504155460,"author":{"id":"4088761875333320","authorId":"4088761875333320","name":"Grace87","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4088761875333320","idStr":"4088761875333320"},"themes":[],"htmlText":" Nice","listText":" Nice","text":"Nice","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/893616907","repostId":"1187374387","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":241,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":807419689,"gmtCreate":1628049121541,"gmtModify":1703500272533,"author":{"id":"4088761875333320","authorId":"4088761875333320","name":"Grace87","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4088761875333320","idStr":"4088761875333320"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Nice ","listText":"Nice ","text":"Nice","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/807419689","repostId":"2156217536","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":412,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":807437908,"gmtCreate":1628048906604,"gmtModify":1703500269731,"author":{"id":"4088761875333320","authorId":"4088761875333320","name":"Grace87","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4088761875333320","idStr":"4088761875333320"},"themes":[],"htmlText":" Nice","listText":" Nice","text":"Nice","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/807437908","repostId":"1120035454","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":124,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":807436323,"gmtCreate":1628048670962,"gmtModify":1703500263443,"author":{"id":"4088761875333320","authorId":"4088761875333320","name":"Grace87","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4088761875333320","idStr":"4088761875333320"},"themes":[],"htmlText":" Good","listText":" Good","text":"Good","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/807436323","repostId":"1120035454","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":212,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"hots":[{"id":893629642,"gmtCreate":1628260248086,"gmtModify":1703504193822,"author":{"id":"4088761875333320","authorId":"4088761875333320","name":"Grace87","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4088761875333320","authorIdStr":"4088761875333320"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Nice ","listText":"Nice ","text":"Nice","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":8,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/893629642","repostId":"2157649395","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2157649395","kind":"highlight","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com brings you the latest news from around the world, covering breaking news in markets, business, politics, entertainment and technology","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Reuters","id":"1036604489","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/443ce19704621c837795676028cec868"},"pubTimestamp":1628259051,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2157649395?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-08-06 22:10","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Dollar jumps on jobs report to highest this week","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2157649395","media":"Reuters","summary":"Jobs report adds to dollar gains for the week.\nDollar index up nearly 0.5% on the day.\nEuro down 0.5","content":"
\n
Jobs report adds to dollar gains for the week.
\n
Dollar index up nearly 0.5% on the day.
\n
Euro down 0.5% vs dollar.
\n
Dollar rises above 110 yen.
\n
\n
NEW YORK/LONDON, Aug 6 (Reuters) -
