in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day Monday, investors will come back from the holiday weekend to a prolific lineup of fourth quarter reports from market heavyweights such as Goldman Sachs (GS), Proctor & Gamble (PG), Netflix (NFLX) and United Airlines (UAL). The period kicked off in earnest last week with lackluster results from major U.S. banks. JPMorgan (JPM), Wells Fargo (WFC), and Citigroup (C) were among the financial forms posting less-than-impressive results that dragged on Wall Street and tempered expectations for a strong start to the earnings season.

As fourth quarter earnings reports pick up speed, investors will shift their focus from monetary policy to look for signs of relief in company profits and other corporate metrics after economic uncertainty and worries around the Federal Reserve’s pace of interest rate hikes have weighed heavily on markets to start the new year.

The S&P 500 is down 2.79% in 2022 so far, while the Dow has lost 1.84%. The Nasdaq has shed a whopping -5.93% year-to-date, with more than one third of companies in the index at least 50% from their 52-week highs, according to Bloomberg data.

Earnings season kick into high gear this week. REUTERS/Brendan McDermidBrendan McDermid / reuters

“We’ll have to see if earnings season comes to the rescue once again,” Ed Clissold, chief U.S. strategist at Ned Davis, told Bloomberg earlier this week. “Still, earnings revisions over the past several weeks weren’t as strong as other pre-announcement periods last year, which leads us to believe that we may not get those fantastic beat rates.”

In the energy and industrials sector, which typically serves as a key driver in fourth quarter results, underlying fundamentals may lack the strength to power markets this earnings season, PNC chief investment officer Amanda Agati told Yahoo Finance Live.

“Investors need to be starting to set their expectations a bit lower,” she said. “Not necessarily bearish, but we do think the moderation in terms of growth not only for earnings season going forward, but also for economic growth is really going to be a dominant theme."

S&P 500 earnings in aggregate were expected to grow 21.7% for the fourth-quarter of 2021, according to recent data from FactSet Research vice president and senior earnings analyst John Butters. That figure would mark a fourth consecutive quarter that earnings growth tops 20%.

Industry experts have previously predicted companies in the S&P 500 will report record-high earnings per share in 2022. Butters has pointed out that the bottom-up EPS estimate for the S&P 500 was $222.32 as of last month. If the forecast meets expectations, this would be the highest annual EPS number for the index since FactSet began tracking this metric in 1996.

FactSet reported that, on average, analysts have overestimated the final EPS number by 7.2%. Even taking the overestimation into account, the final EPS value of $206.32 for 2022 would still beat previous records.

The bottom-up EPS estimate for the S&P 500 is $222.32, a figure that would mark the highest on record, according to FactSet data.FactSet Research vice president and senior earnings analyst john butters

Continued signs of Omicron’s economic impact and increasing indication by the Federal Reserve that it will intervene more aggressively to curb rising inflation, however, continue to dampen the outlook for 2022.

“Our expectation is that we're going to have a very solid and robust earnings season,” Schwab Asset Management CEO and CIO Omar Aguilar, though adding that the coming quarters may reflect the toll of Omicron more heavily than fourth quarter numbers.

“That being said, we expect the earnings to continue to decelerate — still very robust and in a good place as companies continue to drive to generate free cash flow and generate business,” but we will hear a lot about supply chain disruptions and the potential higher costs in these sectors that may have been transitioned to consumers.

"I think what investors are really focused on is what are these CEOs going to say about two primary things, number one being inflation," TD Ameritrade Chief Market Strategist JJ Kinahan told Yahoo Finance Life.

"For the financials, it'll probably be more wage inflation and their ability to retain workers and pay up... and then on the other end of that, for the non-financials, perhaps it's more of whether they can go through supply chain issues, because of COVID or because of the cost of inflation, to deliver goods to their end customers."

Meanwhile in Washington, Fed policymakers will enter a blackout period this week ahead of the Federal Open Market Committee’s (FOMC) next meeting on Jan. 26. The central bank has been top of mind for investors bracing for interest rate increases and tighter financial conditions that could come as soon as March.

In confirmation hearings last week, Fed officials have doubled down on earlier assertions that the central bank is prepared to mitigate inflation through higher interest rates.

Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell told Congress Tuesday that if the pace of price increases does not settle, policymakers will get more aggressive with raising short-term borrowing costs. In a separate hearing on Thursday, Fed governor and vice chair nominee Lael Brainard pledged to use that "powerful tool" — the central bank's benchmark for short-term interest rates called the federal funds rate — to bring inflation down over time.

Economic calendar

Monday: Markets closed in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day; In a separate hearing on Thursday, Fed governor and vice chair nominee Lael Brainard pledged to use that \"powerful tool\" — the central bank's benchmark for short-term interest rates called the federal funds rate — to bring inflation down over time.Economic calendarMonday: Markets closed in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day; No economic reports scheduled for releaseTuesday: Empire Manufacturing, January (25 expected, 31.9 prior); NAHB Housing Market Index, January (84 expected, 84 prior); Net Long-Term TIC Flows, November ($7,100,000,000 prior); Total Net TIC Flows, November ($143,000,000,000 prior)Wednesday: MBA Mortgage Applications, week ended January 14 (1.4% during prior week); Building Permits, December (1,700,000 expected, 1,712,000 during prior month, upwardly revised to 1,717,000); Building Permits, month-over-month, December (-1.0% expected, 3.6% during prior month, upwardly revised to 3.9%); Housing Starts, December (1,650,000 expected, 1,679,000 during prior month); Housing Starts, month over month, December (-1.7% expected, 11.8% during prior month)Thursday: Initial Jobless Claims, week ended January 15 (220,000 expected, 230,000 during prior week) Continuing Claims, week ended January 15 (1,521,000 expected, 1,559,000 prior week); Philadelphia Fed Business Outlook, January (19.8 expected, 15.4 prior); Existing Home Sales, December (6,410,000 expected, 6,460,000 during prior month); Existing Home Sales, month over month, December (-0.8% expected, 1.9% during prior month);Friday: Leading Index, December (0.8% expected, 1.1% prior)Earnings:Monday: NMarkets closed in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day; o reports scheduled for releaseTuesday: Goldman Sachs (GS) before market open, PNC Bank (PNC) before market open, Charles Schwab (SCHW), Bank of New York Mellon (BK) and Truist Financial (TFC) before market open; Interactive Brokers (IBKR), Hunt Transport (JBHT) after market close, Citrix Systems (CTXS)Wednesday: Bank of America (BAC) before market open, Procter & Gamble (PG) before market open, United Health (UNH) before market open, Morgan Stanley (MS) before market open, United Airlines (UAL) after market close, Discover Financial (DFS) after market close, State Street (STT) before market open, Comerica (CMA) before market openThursday: Travelers (TRV) and American Airlines (AAL) and Northern Trust (NTRS) before market open; Netflix (NFLX) at market closeFriday: Schlumberger (SLB), Ally Financial (ALLY)","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":756,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9005514473,"gmtCreate":1642347185819,"gmtModify":1676533703024,"author":{"id":"4088958950420550","authorId":"4088958950420550","name":"Renhaldo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e86cf5d2f16acaa002f43533f9b77804","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4088958950420550","authorIdStr":"4088958950420550"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Wow ok","listText":"Wow ok","text":"Wow ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9005514473","repostId":"1102556611","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1102556611","pubTimestamp":1642297266,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1102556611?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-01-16 09:41","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Amazon Stock Could Return 20% Annually Based on Analyst FCF Forecasts","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1102556611","media":"InvestorPlace","summary":"Amazon(NASDAQ:AMZN) stock has been in a sort of free fall for the past several months. I suspect that it may be at a point where investors can begin accumulating it. One reason is that I foresee that AMZN stock will stage a rebound sometime this quarter or in the spring.

After peaking at $3,696.06 on Nov. 18, the stock has taken a tumble. At the end of December, AMZN stock closed at $3,334.34. But as of Jan. 13, it was lower at $3,224.28. That represents a drop of about 10% from its peak and a decline of 3.3% since the beginning of 2022.

However, once the company issues its upcoming earnings, I suspect that AMZN stock could make a rebound. Let’s look at this further.

Where Things Stand at Amazon.com

Amazon is likely to release its fourth-quarter (Q4) earnings report sometime before the end of this month. This is because it usually releases its quarterly earnings at the end of the month following the quarter-end.

More importantly, the release is likely to show a much higher free cash flow (FCF) figure than it did last quarter. In Q3, Amazon reported that its last 12 months (LTM) FCF fell to just$2.6 billion. This was substantially lower than its year-earlier Q3 LTM figure of $29.5 billion.

By the way, Amazon is one of the only large companies that reports its earnings this way. It likes to use a quarterly comparison of full-year FCF on a look-back basis over the prior 12 months.

This is most likely because the Christmas quarter (Q4) is such a large portion of its overall free cash flow. In other words, the quarterly changes are irrelevant, unless seen on an LTM basis, because the Christmas quarter is such an important factor.

One Time Costs and FCF

As I wrote last month, Amazon experienced a good deal of difficulty in operating costs. This is likely from the travails from Covid-19 and its effect on Amazon’s business. For example, its freight and shipping costs increased 20% on a year-over-year (YOY) basis in Q3.

Moreover, shipping costs were up 30% in Q2 and 57% in Q1. This goes a long way in explaining why the Q3 trailing-12-month (TTM) free cash flow figures were significantly lower. However, you can see that the YOY cost increases have been declining. This could mean that Amazon is adapting to these changes.

Therefore, I suspect that the Q4 might not show as great an increase in these costs. As a result, FCF margins might be better than expected, given the poor results in Q3.

Free Cash Flow Estimates for AMZN Stock

Historically, Amazon has made TTM FCF margins of 8.5% or higher. Last year, Amazon made $29.5 billion in TTM FCF on sales of $348 billion. That is an LTM FCF margin of 8.5%.

So, Amazon could be at a low here in terms of its poor LTM FCF margins. Going forward, FCF margins might be at least 4.25%, half of the historical quarterly averages.

Therefore, assuming sales hit $553 billion in 2022, using Seeking Alpha’s analyst estimates, the FCF forecast for 2022 will be $23.5 billion. This is the result of multiplying 4.25% by $553 billion.

This is almost 10 times the $2.5 billion that Amazon made in LTM FCF during Q3. So, it represents a huge turnaround in the FCF. And remember, we are only using half of the normal 8.5% FCF margin for Amazon.

Where This Leaves AMZN Stock

Using a 1% FCF yield metric, we can forecast that Amazon’s market value will reach $2.35 trillion. This is the result of dividing $23.5 billion by 0.01 (i.e., $23.5b / 1.0% = $2.35 trillion).

This $2.35 trillion target market value is 43.73% higher than Amazon’s existing market value of $1.635 trillion.

That implies that AMZN stock is worth 43.73% more than its price today of $3,224.28. That puts its target value at $4,634.26 per share.

Here is the good thing about this. Even if it takes 2 years for the stock to rise 43.73% to this price, the average annual return will be about 20% annually (19.9%).

So, investing in AMZN stock should provide at least a 20% average return over the next 2 years, and possibly much more. That is a very good return on investment for most investors, especially over the long-term.

","source":"lsy1606302653667","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Amazon Stock Could Return 20% Annually Based on Analyst FCF Forecasts
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nAmazon Stock Could Return 20% Annually Based on Analyst FCF Forecasts\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-01-16 09:41 GMT+8 InvestorPlace\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Amazon(NASDAQ:AMZN) stock has been in a sort of free fall for the past several months. The period kicked off in earnest last week with lackluster results from major U.S. banks. The Nasdaq has shed a whopping -5.93% year-to-date, with more than one third of companies in the index at least 50% from their 52-week highs, according to Bloomberg data.Earnings season kick into high gear this week. REUTERS/Brendan McDermidBrendan McDermid / reuters“We’ll have to see if earnings season comes to the rescue once again,” Ed Clissold, chief U.S. strategist at Ned Davis, told Bloomberg earlier this week. “Still, earnings revisions over the past several weeks weren’t as strong as other pre-announcement periods last year, which leads us to believe that we may not get those fantastic beat rates.”In the energy and industrials sector, which typically serves as a key driver in fourth quarter results, underlying fundamentals may lack the strength to power markets this earnings season, PNC chief investment officer Amanda Agati told Yahoo Finance Live.“Investors need to be starting to set their expectations a bit lower,” she said. “Not necessarily bearish, but we do think the moderation in terms of growth not only for earnings season going forward, but also for economic growth is really going to be a dominant theme.\"S&P 500 earnings in aggregate were expected to grow 21.7% for the fourth-quarter of 2021, according to recent data from FactSet Research vice president and senior earnings analyst John Butters. That figure would mark a fourth consecutive quarter that earnings growth tops 20%.Industry experts have previously predicted companies in the S&P 500 will report record-high earnings per share in 2022. Butters has pointed out that the bottom-up EPS estimate for the S&P 500 was $222.32 as of last month. If the forecast meets expectations, this would be the highest annual EPS number for the index since FactSet began tracking this metric in 1996.FactSet reported that, on average, analysts have overestimated the final EPS number by 7.2%. They're going to have good numbers ... but we are expecting much more or maybe they will talk down the second half of the year,\" said Paul Nolte, portfolio manager at Kingsview Investment Management in Chicago.
\n
Adding to the cautious tone is the outlook for U.S.-listed Chinese stocks, he said. The shares including Baidu extended losses as fears over more regulations in the mainland persisted.
\n
\"There's a fair amount of (U.S.) investors in those companies,\" Nolte said.
\n
Uncertainty also rose as the Fed began its two-day meeting, with investors looking for signs on when it intends to begin reining in its massive stimulus program.
\n
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 85.79 points, or 0.24%, to 35,058.52, the S&P 500 lost 20.84 points, or 0.47%, to 4,401.46 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 180.14 points, or 1.21%, to 14,660.58.
\n
Helping to support the Dow, shares of McDonald's Corp rose 1% ahead of its results due before the bell on Wednesday.
\n
In another sign that investors were in a risk-off mood, defensive sectors such as real estate and utilities were the two best-performing S&P 500 categories for the day, and U.S. Treasuries prices rose.
\n
Intel Corp shares dropped 2.1% after it said its factories would start building Qualcomm chips and laid out a road map to expand its new foundry business.
\n
Volume on U.S. exchanges was 10.36 billion shares, compared with the 9.86 billion average for the full session over the last 20 trading days.
\n
Declining issues outnumbered advancing ones on the NYSE by a 1.87-to-1 ratio; on Nasdaq, a 2.65-to-1 ratio favored decliners.
\n
The S&P 500 posted 44 new 52-week highs and no new lows; the Nasdaq Composite recorded 39 new highs and 235 new lows.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; Bipartisan talk of antitrust actions against the e-commerce giant could mean that Amazon’s dominance could begin to face challenges from Washington. That comes as Bezos handed off the CEO role to Andy Jassy earlier this month.
\n
Shares of Amazon have underperformed the tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 and the S&P 500 in 2021, even as the coronavirus pandemic forced Americans to rely on its service during the darkest days.
\n
Given all this, it is worth considering e-commerce alternatives if you’re worried that Amazon’s best days are behind it.
\n
Here are five smaller high-growth companies you may want to research:
\n
Sea
\n
Shares of Sea Ltd. are up about 45% in 2021, hitting new all-time highs as it continues its aggressive growth across Asia and Latin America.
\n
The Singapore-based company has a broad business model capitalizing on e-commerce and digital retail operations around the world. That includes its Garena digital entertainment platform that publishes video games and offers e-sports tie-ins, the Shopee e-commerce platform and SeaMoney digital financial services that include mobile payment services.
\n
Sea was a darling in 2020 as it rode the “stay at home trade” to great success. Revenue doubled year over year in 2020 to $4.4 billion, and the company’s momentum was the envy of Wall Street as Sea stock racked up roughly 640% gains on the calendar year.
\n
But the fundamentals shown by Sea in 2021 hint that the surge in share prices were justified. Consider that in its first-quarter report in May, revenue surged by about 150%— while gross profit tripled year over year.
\n
With its next earnings report scheduled for mid-August, Sea stock could see another leg up as it continues to prove Amazon isn’t the only e-commerce name worth watching.
\n
Coupang
\n
While Sea has been a cult stock for a while in some circles, one Asian e-commerce stock that is still flying under the radar for many is Korea-based Coupang Inc.. South Korea’s biggest e-commerce company began trading in March after an IPO that raised $4.6 billion, but since then shares have drifted lower — and other cult-like stocks have won all the attention.
\n
If you haven’t yet heard of Coupang, its model should be quite familiar. It sells various products including home goods, apparel, beauty products, sporting goods and electronics. It’s also looking beyond these tried-and-true categories to include a focus on fresh food and groceries, as well as services including travel and restaurant delivery.
\n
Though the fundamentals are light given its recent debut, the numbers we have do show this regional e-tailer is connecting in a big way in Korea. Namely, it saw net revenue growth of 74% in its first-quarter report in May, and gross profit up 70% year over year. Total customers grew 21%, and revenue per customer surged 44%.
\n
Admittedly, the total customer base in that quarter was just 16 million households — hardly Amazon-esque. And so far in 2021, share prices has slumped slightly, even though the S&P 500 has powered higher. But remember, this is a company that just raised $4.6 billion — with a “B” — and is serious about growth. Considering the language and logistical barriers to competition in the markets it serves that clearly have long-term growth potential, investors may want to consider the lull in Coupang shares a buying opportunity.
\n
MercadoLibre
\n
Taking a page out of the playbook of Silicon Valley stocks that boast high share prices and a refusal to split, MercadoLibre Inc. is currently trading well above four figures — and based on recent history, seems as if it’s likely to stay there.
\n
MercadoLibre stock has cooled off in 2021 and is sitting on a slight loss year to date, compared with an uptrend broadly for U.S. stocks. However, that’s after this Latin American stock racked up 200% gains last year. Argentina-based MercadoLibre is hardly slowing down, however, as in the first quarter it reported 70 million active users — an increase of 62% above the just over 43 million users in the prior year. Gross merchandise volume was up even more at a 77% year-over-year growth rate to just over $6 billion, compared with $3.4 billion in the first quarter of 2020.
\n
What’s really exciting for investors, however, is that the gains in core e-commerce transactions is supplemented by continued growth into financial services. MercadoLibre reported an impressive $2.9 billion in payment volume through its mobile wallet platform, and its Mercado Credito lending platform saw its portfolio grow to $576 million — more than doubling over the prior year.
\n
Amazon has taught e-commerce companies that dominating all aspects of the consumer experience is how to truly build a dominant operation. With MercadoLibre growing sales but also increasingly connecting on the financial side, it is setting up itself to be a force in Latin America — and a real competitor to even entrenched western e-commerce brands.
\n
Newegg
\n
Newegg Commerce Inc. is a consumer-electronics e-tailer that has a bit of a following in computer geek circles but largely has gone unnoticed by most consumers and investors. That is, until it spiked from $10 a share to a brief high above $60 a share in July.
\n
The inciting incident was news that Newegg would carry hard-to-get Nvidia graphics hardware, and theoretically see a big bump in revenue and profits as a result. However, Newegg may be proving that it is much more than just a tangential play piggybacking off Nvidia as it proves there is real value to specialty retailers that serve a specific audience — and can offer in-demand products instead of knock-offs propped up by fraudulent five-star reviews.
\n
Newegg went public via a SPAC, so it doesn’t have a lot of history to show investors just yet. But what little we know is proof that Newegg stock has potential. Consider it commands an impressive market share when it comes to core hardware items like PC processors, motherboards and the like. It also ranks as a top-five website worldwide when it comes to computer and electronics retailing sites, and is a go-to site for cryptocurrency miners as well as PC gamers.
\n
According to what we know about the financials, Newegg topped $2.1 billion in sales, thanks to its dominance in this profitable niche of computer components. And as evidenced by its recent Nvidia score, it has deep relationships with consumer electronics suppliers to ensure it is not just another Amazon clone selling cut-rate flat screens.
\n
Shopify
\n
If you’re interested in what life looks like for e-commerce beyond Amazon, look no further than Shopify Inc..This Canada-based tech company offers a platform for any company to build out web and mobile storefronts, integrate those operations into physical retail locations and then assist with the nitty gritty of inventory, shipping and payments.
\n
Shopify stock was one of those names that made a lot of headlines in 2020 as part of the pandemic-related surge in service providers made for social distancing. Shares surged from about $400 to $1,100 last year as a result of everyone looking to do business digitally. But in 2021, Shopify stock has tacked on almost 40% more, proving this is not just a COVID trade. After all, the e-commerce potential it helps merchants realize is real and lasting beyond the pandemic.
\n
Case in point:Fiscal first-quarter revenue growth reported at the end of April was a red hot 110%. But what long-term investors will like even more is that its subscription service metric MRR — that is, monthly recurring revenue — accelerated 62% year-over-year to prove that many of the initial spend on building out these platforms is sticking as clients maintain their Shopify presence.
\n
Shopify isn’t quite the scale of Amazon, but at $200 billion or so in market value right now with a comfortable operating profit to sustain it, investors who want to bet the field vs. Bezos & Co. could do worse than plug into Shopify stock.
","source":"lsy1603348471595","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Amazon's stock looks tired. And as evidenced by its recent Nvidia score, it has deep relationships with consumer electronics suppliers to ensure it is not just another Amazon clone selling cut-rate flat screens.\nShopify\nIf you’re interested in what life looks like for e-commerce beyond Amazon, look no further than Shopify Inc..This Canada-based tech company offers a platform for any company to build out web and mobile storefronts, integrate those operations into physical retail locations and then assist with the nitty gritty of inventory, shipping and payments.\nShopify stock was one of those names that made a lot of headlines in 2020 as part of the pandemic-related surge in service providers made for social distancing. Shares surged from about $400 to $1,100 last year as a result of everyone looking to do business digitally. But in 2021, Shopify stock has tacked on almost 40% more, proving this is not just a COVID trade. After all, the e-commerce potential it helps merchants realize is real and lasting beyond the pandemic.\nCase in point:Fiscal first-quarter revenue growth reported at the end of April was a red hot 110%. But what long-term investors will like even more is that its subscription service metric MRR — that is, monthly recurring revenue — accelerated 62% year-over-year to prove that many of the initial spend on building out these platforms is sticking as clients maintain their Shopify presence.\nShopify isn’t quite the scale of Amazon, but at $200 billion or so in market value right now with a comfortable operating profit to sustain it, investors who want to bet the field vs. Bezos & Co. could do worse than plug into Shopify stock.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":96,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[{"author":{"id":"3585905697144802","authorId":"3585905697144802","name":"Jh1234567","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ff63068650ead36d42a75a8c234f3f27","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"authorIdStr":"3585905697144802","idStr":"3585905697144802"},"content":"Okay please help me like","text":"Okay please help me like","html":"Okay please help me like"}],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":899044222,"gmtCreate":1628146949166,"gmtModify":1703502082605,"author":{"id":"4088958950420550","authorId":"4088958950420550","name":"Renhaldo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e86cf5d2f16acaa002f43533f9b77804","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4088958950420550","idStr":"4088958950420550"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Gogo","listText":"Gogo","text":"Gogo","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/899044222","repostId":"1185764698","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1185764698","pubTimestamp":1628146861,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1185764698?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-08-05 15:01","market":"us","language":"en","title":"6 Stocks with Big Payouts and Less Risk","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1185764698","media":"Barrons","summary":"High dividend yields are great for equity income investors, but it is possible to get too much of a ","content":"
High dividend yields are great for equity income investors, but it is possible to get too much of a good thing. Expect a blowout.
\n
For the June quarter, the tech giant has projected sales of $110 billion to $116 billion, with operating income in the $4.5 billion-to-$8 billion range. Wall Street consensus calls for sales of $115.4 billion, operating income of $7.8 billion, and earnings of $12.28 a share.
\n
There are several reasons why the Street numbers might be too low.
\n
For one, Amazon (ticker: AMZN) has beat expectations in every quarter since the start of the pandemic—in fact, for 10 quarters in a row.
\n
Another is that Amazon’s competitors have already reported solid numbers.Shopify(SHOP), arguably one of the company’s most important rivals in e-commerce,posted better-than-expected results for the June quarter, noting that sustained digital commerce trends and U.S. stimulus checks in March and April drove revenues above expectations. Strong reports from Alphabet,Snap and Twitter suggest Amazon will post accelerating growth in its underappreciated advertising business. And the strength in the cloud business at Microsoft bodes well for Amazon Web Services.
\n
Street estimates call for Amazon to post $57.3 billion in online sales, up 25%; $24.8 billion in third-party sellers services, up 36%; $14.3 billion from AWS, up 32%; $7.9 billion in subscription services, up 36%; $7 billion in “other” revenue, which is mostly advertising, up 66%; and $3.9 billion in physical stores revenue, up 3%.
\n
Plus, there are a couple of other factors at play. This will be the first quarter for Amazon since Jeff Bezos turned over the CEO reins to Andy Jassy. Bezos didn’t typically participate in the company’s quarterly earnings calls with analysts, leaving that job to CFO Brian OIsavky; it remains to be seen if Jassy will make an appearance this year. Also, Amazon finds itself at the heart of the debate—in Washington and elsewhere—over the power of tech companies, and now faces an in-depth investigation by the Federal Trade Commission over its proposed acquisition of the film studio MGM.Amazon has requested that FTC Chair Lina Khan recuse herself from any matters involving Amazon given her past criticisms of the company.
\n

\n
Investors also will be watching for clues on how the company expects the pandemic and a return to a more normal economy will impact results for the rest of the year. Street estimates for the September quarter call for revenue of $118.6 billion and profits of $12.97 a share.
\n
In a research note, MKM Partners analyst Rohit Kulkarni points out that Amazon has underperformed both Alphabet and Facebook shares this year. He thinks the stock has been weighed down by ongoing debate about the true strength of this year’s Prime Day sales event, as well as ongoing questions about the outlook for e-commerce as supplemental U.S. unemployment benefits lapse in September. Nonetheless, Kulkarni thinks that advertising, Amazon Prime subscriptions, and AWS will together drive upside to both second-quarter results and guidance, and he continues to consider Amazon his best pick among the big internet stocks. Kulkarni keeps his Buy rating and $4,075 target price.
\n
Evercore ISI analyst Mark Mahaney maintains an Outperform rating and $4,500 target price. Expect a blowout.\nFor the June quarter, the tech giant has projected sales of $110 billion to $116 billion, with operating income in the $4.5 billion-to-$8 billion range. Wall Street consensus calls for sales of $115.4 billion, operating income of $7.8 billion, and earnings of $12.28 a share.\nThere are several reasons why the Street numbers might be too low.\nFor one, Amazon (ticker: AMZN) has beat expectations in every quarter since the start of the pandemic—in fact, for 10 quarters in a row.\nAnother is that Amazon’s competitors have already reported solid numbers.Shopify(SHOP), arguably one of the company’s most important rivals in e-commerce,posted better-than-expected results for the June quarter, noting that sustained digital commerce trends and U.S. stimulus checks in March and April drove revenues above expectations. Strong reports from Alphabet,Snap and Twitter suggest Amazon will post accelerating growth in its underappreciated advertising business. And the strength in the cloud business at Microsoft bodes well for Amazon Web Services.\nStreet estimates call for Amazon to post $57.3 billion in online sales, up 25%; $24.8 billion in third-party sellers services, up 36%; $14.3 billion from AWS, up 32%; $7.9 billion in subscription services, up 36%; $7 billion in “other” revenue, which is mostly advertising, up 66%; and $3.9 billion in physical stores revenue, up 3%.\nPlus, there are a couple of other factors at play. Also, Amazon finds itself at the heart of the debate—in Washington and elsewhere—over the power of tech companies, and now faces an in-depth investigation by the Federal Trade Commission over its proposed acquisition of the film studio MGM.Amazon has requested that FTC Chair Lina Khan recuse herself from any matters involving Amazon given her past criticisms of the company.\n\nInvestors also will be watching for clues on how the company expects the pandemic and a return to a more normal economy will impact results for the rest of the year. Street estimates for the September quarter call for revenue of $118.6 billion and profits of $12.97 a share.\nIn a research note, MKM Partners analyst Rohit Kulkarni points out that Amazon has underperformed both Alphabet and Facebook shares this year. Kulkarni keeps his Buy rating and $4,075 target price.\nEvercore ISI analyst Mark Mahaney maintains an Outperform rating and $4,500 target price. He thinks Street estimates for the second quarter “look largely reasonable,” although he has some concerns that the Street might be too bullish on the third quarter, in particular given Prime Day this year shifted into the second quarter.\nMonness Crespi White analyst Brian White notes that Amazon shares have been “range bound” over the past few months, but he thinks the company is “uniquely positioned” to exit the pandemic as one of the biggest beneficiaries of the digital transformation trend. White asserts that “the company’s growth path is very attractive across the e-commerce segment, AWS, digital media, advertising, Alexa and more.” White maintains his Buy rating and $4,500 target price.\nOn Wednesday, Amazon shares were up 0.1%, to $3,630.32.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":23,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":887529851,"gmtCreate":1632067729473,"gmtModify":1676530695171,"author":{"id":"4088958950420550","authorId":"4088958950420550","name":"Renhaldo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e86cf5d2f16acaa002f43533f9b77804","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4088958950420550","idStr":"4088958950420550"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$THAI BEVERAGE PUBLIC CO LTD(Y92.SI)$lets go holiday","listText":"$THAI BEVERAGE PUBLIC CO LTD(Y92.SI)$lets go holiday","text":"$THAI BEVERAGE PUBLIC CO LTD(Y92.SI)$lets go holiday","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/91633c44f824300fbca8d928d89fb153","width":"1080","height":"3164"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/887529851","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":152,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":812944872,"gmtCreate":1630549044996,"gmtModify":1676530337272,"author":{"id":"4088958950420550","authorId":"4088958950420550","name":"Renhaldo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e86cf5d2f16acaa002f43533f9b77804","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4088958950420550","idStr":"4088958950420550"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$OCEANUS GROUP LIMITED(579.SI)$gogo","listText":"$OCEANUS GROUP LIMITED(579.SI)$gogo","text":"$OCEANUS GROUP LIMITED(579.SI)$gogo","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/80551cbdcb87fee6e66a39b807deef26","width":"1080","height":"1920"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/812944872","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":630,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[{"author":{"id":"3572917288001192","authorId":"3572917288001192","name":"VJerome","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/52e715ad2cbd0da71c65fb18fe9e41a4","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"authorIdStr":"3572917288001192","idStr":"3572917288001192"},"content":"Exit watchlist should be the Current Mountain to clear","text":"Exit watchlist should be the Current Mountain to clear","html":"Exit watchlist should be the Current Mountain to clear"}],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":830593787,"gmtCreate":1629079564149,"gmtModify":1676529922857,"author":{"id":"4088958950420550","authorId":"4088958950420550","name":"Renhaldo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e86cf5d2f16acaa002f43533f9b77804","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4088958950420550","idStr":"4088958950420550"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Thaibev good","listText":"Thaibev good","text":"Thaibev good","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/0d0287a92661f9f664a976de95a310fc","width":"1080","height":"3164"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/830593787","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":121,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":891304750,"gmtCreate":1628327471470,"gmtModify":1703505122428,"author":{"id":"4088958950420550","authorId":"4088958950420550","name":"Renhaldo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e86cf5d2f16acaa002f43533f9b77804","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4088958950420550","idStr":"4088958950420550"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/891304750","repostId":"1157428986","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1157428986","pubTimestamp":1628296262,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1157428986?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-08-07 08:31","market":"us","language":"en","title":"US IPO Week Ahead: 2 banks test the waters amid annual summer slowdown","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1157428986","media":"renaissancecap...","summary":"The IPO market is getting a breather as the August lull continues to set in, with just two banks sch","content":"
The IPO market is getting a breather as the August lull continues to set in, with just two banks scheduled for the week ahead.
\n
Utah-based digital bank FinWise Bancorp(FINW) plans to raise $58 million at a $183 million market cap.
