I like to use Moving Averages (MVA) to determine the current trend of the stock I am interested in. I like to compare the 50 day MVA and the 200 day MVA. I look for Golden Cross if I want to buy. A Golden Cross happens when the 50 day MVA crosses above the 200 day MVA, creating a BUY signal. Conversely, if I want to sell, I look for Death Cross. This happens when the 50 day MVA crosses below the 200 day MVA, creating a Sell signal. However for these indicators to work effectively, they should be accompanied by high trading volume.&nb

It is possible that this interest rate may even spike to 75bp if inflation rate is not under control following the Feds rate rise this week to 75bp.But I believe that the Australian economy is more resilient than the US as we have more commodities and minerals which are currently doing well. Our inflation rate is not as high as the US 8.6%.The employment figures are very good too. She will be sorely missed as she was the bedrock of stability and grace. Her successor, King Charles will have a massive task ahead of him to endear himself as his mother did during her lifetime. However given time, I am sure he will be able to if he shows his devotion and passion for the task. The British Commonwealth will not collapse as it is an organisation that support cooperation and friendship among member countries. Australians may be faced another referendum whether the country may become a Republic or remain as a colony. The winds of change are

A good example is DIDI which I bought at 14.00 and held on until it was delisted. On hindsight I should have sold it much earlier. The valuable lesson I learn is that it is important to cut loss when a stock dropped to a predetermined level say 20% or when the fundamentals of the stock have changed. Investing is a life long journey and with my goal of FIRE - Financial Independence Retire Early, Patience and Discipline will help me achieve my ultimate goal.

The Feds have a challenging task to balance the interest rates to quell high inflation. If interest rates are too high, it will cause recession, too low then inflation will rise further.Commodity prices are slowly coming down but they are still rather high. With the Ukraine war however, oil prices will continue to rise. There is also a ban on Russian oil by US and its allies. OPEC has decided to decrease its oil production by 2 million barrels recently. US stocks will continue on its downward trend and recession is imminent. However not all stocks are doom and gloom. Consumer Staples, Healthcare are non cyclical and will be less affected than the Consumer Discretionary, Growth stocks. Commodities stocks like Energy and Agriculture will continue to do well due to high demand and insufficient supply.
