companies are delivering exceptional earnings and dividend growth, and their stocks are tradin","content":"
These companies are delivering exceptional earnings and dividend growth, and their stocks are trading at reasonable valuations.
\n
Last month I started a new series that will rank selections ofDividend Radarstocks and present the seven top-ranked stocks for consideration. Dividend Radar tracks stocks trading on U.S. exchanges with dividend increase streaks of at least five years.
\n
Each month, I’ll consider different screens to narrow down the more than 750 Dividend Radar stocks. Screens will focus on various aspects of dividend growth investing, such as dividend yield, dividend growth rate, and stock valuation.
\n
This month, I screened for stocks of companies that have delivered exceptional earnings growth over the last ten years. Additionally, I screened for stocks trading at reasonable valuations and required a 5-year yield on cost (YoC) of at least 3%.
\n
Screening and Ranking
\n
Earnings and earnings growth are the foundation of dividends and dividend growth. Companies could use debt to pay dividends, such as when earnings temporarily are insufficient to cover dividend payouts. Eventually, though, that debt will have to be repaid from earnings, which, presumably and hopefully, would be sufficient to pay off debt and pay the dividend.
\n
Portfolio Insight provides earnings and earnings growth data that we can monitor to get a sense of a company’s ability to continue paying and increasing dividends. For this month’s article, I considered Non-GAAP EPS compound annual growth rates [CAGRs] for different time frames. Here’s the specific screening formula:
\n
NG EPS 1Y ≥ 10% and NG EPS 3Y ≥ 10% and NG EPS 5Y ≥ 10% and NG EPS 10Y ≥ 10%
\n
Additionally, I screened for stocks trading at reasonable valuations. What I mean by “reasonable” is based on my quality/valuation matrix, which gives preferential treatment to higher quality stocks. Essentially, I’m willing to pay a small premium for the highest quality stocks and I demand a larger discount for lower-quality stocks:
\n

\n
I calculate Buy Below prices relative to my fair value [FV] estimates based on this quality/valuation matrix.
\n
Finally, I screened for stocks with a 5-year yield on cost[YoC] above 3%. This metric combines the forward yield and 5-year dividend growth rate [DGR] to determine what your dividend would be relative to today’s stock price after five years of investment, assuming the DGR is maintained.
\n
Here is a summary of this month’s screens in general terms:
\n
\n
Exceptional earnings for at least ten years
\n
Reasonable current valuation
\n
Reasonable future dividend income
\n
\n
The latest Dividend Radar(dated July 30, 2021) contains 762 stocks.
\n
Applying the first (fairly stringent) screen reduces the list to only 87 candidates. (Of these, only 20 pass the second screen and only 11 also survive the third screen).
\n
I ranked the candidates by sorting their quality scores (determined via DVK Quality Snapshots) in descending order and used the following metrics, in turn, to break ties:
\n
\n
Simply Safe Dividends' Dividend Safety Scores
\n
S&P Credit Ratings
\n
Dividend Yield
\n
\n
The tables below show the top seven stocks in rank-order.
\n
7 Top-Ranked Dividend Growth Stocks for August
\n
Here are top-ranked dividend growth stocks that pass this month’s screens:
\n

\n
I own the six highlighted stocks in my DivGro portfolio.
\n
Below, I provide a table with key metrics of interest to dividend growth investors, including the dividend increase streak (Years), the dividend Yield for a recent share Price, and the 5-year dividend growth rate (5-Yr DGR). The Chowder Number(CDN) and 5-year YoC (5-Yr YoC) are measures of a stock’s future total return and dividend income prospects, while the 5-year trailing total returns (5-Yr TTR) is a measure of the stock’s performance over the past five years.
\n
I also provide thefive quality indicatorsused in determining each stock's quality score (Qual), as well as my FV estimate (Fair Value) to help identify stocks that trade at favorable valuations. The discount/premium column (–Disc/+Prem) shows the discount or premium of a recent share price to my FV estimates. The last column shows my Buy Below price.
\n
Key metrics and fair value estimates of August’s Top 7 Dividend Growth Stocks (includes data sourced from Dividend Radar).
\n
I use a survey approach to derive my FV estimates. I collect FV estimates and price targets from several sources, including Morningstar and Finbox. I also estimate fair valueusing each stock’s five-year average dividend yield. With several estimates and targets available, I ignore the outliers (the lowest and highest values) and use the average of the median and mean of the remaining values as my FV estimate.
\n
Next, let's look at each stock in turn. Dividend Radar tracks stocks trading on U.S. exchanges with dividend increase streaks of at least five years.\nEach month, I’ll consider different screens to narrow down the more than 750 Dividend Radar stocks. Screens will focus on various aspects of dividend growth investing, such as dividend yield, dividend growth rate, and stock valuation.\nThis month, I screened for stocks of companies that have delivered exceptional earnings growth over the last ten years. Additionally, I screened for stocks trading at reasonable valuations and required a 5-year yield on cost (YoC) of at least 3%.\nScreening and Ranking\nEarnings and earnings growth are the foundation of dividends and dividend growth. Companies could use debt to pay dividends, such as when earnings temporarily are insufficient to cover dividend payouts. Eventually, though, that debt will have to be repaid from earnings, which, presumably and hopefully, would be sufficient to pay off debt and pay the dividend.\nPortfolio Insight provides earnings and earnings growth data that we can monitor to get a sense of a company’s ability to continue paying and increasing dividends. For this month’s article, I considered Non-GAAP EPS compound annual growth rates [CAGRs] for different time frames. Here’s the specific screening formula:\nNG EPS 1Y ≥ 10% and NG EPS 3Y ≥ 10% and NG EPS 5Y ≥ 10% and NG EPS 10Y ≥ 10%\nAdditionally, I screened for stocks trading at reasonable valuations. What I mean by “reasonable” is based on my quality/valuation matrix, which gives preferential treatment to higher quality stocks. Essentially, I’m willing to pay a small premium for the highest quality stocks and I demand a larger discount for lower-quality stocks:\n\nI calculate Buy Below prices relative to my fair value [FV] estimates based on this quality/valuation matrix.\nFinally, I screened for stocks with a 5-year yield on cost[YoC] above 3%. This metric combines the forward yield and 5-year dividend growth rate [DGR] to determine what your dividend would be relative to today’s stock price after five years of investment, assuming the DGR is maintained.\nHere is a summary of this month’s screens in general terms:\n\nExceptional earnings for at least ten years\nReasonable current valuation\nReasonable future dividend income\n\nThe latest Dividend Radar(dated July 30, 2021) contains 762 stocks.\nApplying the first (fairly stringent) screen reduces the list to only 87 candidates. (Of these, only 20 pass the second screen and only 11 also survive the third screen).\nI ranked the candidates by sorting their quality scores (determined via DVK Quality Snapshots) in descending order and used the following metrics, in turn, to break ties:\n\nSimply Safe Dividends' Dividend Safety Scores\nS&P Credit Ratings\nDividend Yield\n\nThe tables below show the top seven stocks in rank-order.\n7 Top-Ranked Dividend Growth Stocks for August\nHere are top-ranked dividend growth stocks that pass this month’s screens:\n\nI own the six highlighted stocks in my DivGro portfolio.\nBelow, I provide a table with key metrics of interest to dividend growth investors, including the dividend increase streak (Years), the dividend Yield for a recent share Price, and the 5-year dividend growth rate (5-Yr DGR). The Chowder Number(CDN) and 5-year YoC (5-Yr YoC) are measures of a stock’s future total return and dividend income prospects, while the 5-year trailing total returns (5-Yr TTR) is a measure of the stock’s performance over the past five years.\nI also provide thefive quality indicatorsused in determining each stock's quality score (Qual), as well as my FV estimate (Fair Value) to help identify stocks that trade at favorable valuations. The discount/premium column (–Disc/+Prem) shows the discount or premium of a recent share price to my FV estimates. The last column shows my Buy Below price.\nKey metrics and fair value estimates of August’s Top 7 Dividend Growth Stocks (includes data sourced from Dividend Radar).\nI use a survey approach to derive my FV estimates. I collect FV estimates and price targets from several sources, including Morningstar and Finbox. I also estimate fair valueusing each stock’s five-year average dividend yield. With several estimates and targets available, I ignore the outliers (the lowest and highest values) and use the average of the median and mean of the remaining values as my FV estimate.\nNext, let's look at each stock in turn. With a rock-bottom interest rate, the Dow skyrocketed over 40%, while the large-cap index S&P 500 jumped over 60% between March 2020 and December 2021, according to Dow Jones Market Data.Investors got used to “the tailwind for over a decade with falling interest rates” while looking for the Fed to step in with its “put” should the going get rocky, said Courtney at Exencial Wealth Advisors.“I think (now) the Fed message is ‘you’re not gonna get this tailwind anymore’,” Courtney told MarketWatch on Thursday. “I think markets can grow, but they’re gonna have to grow on their own because the markets are like a greenhouse where the temperatures have to be kept at a certain level all day and all night, and I think that’s the message that markets can and should grow on their own without the greenhouse effect.”Meanwhile, the Fed’s aggressive stance means investors should be prepared for what may be a “few more daily stabs downward” that could eventually prove to be a “final big flush,” said Liz Young, head of investment strategy at SoFi, in a Thursday note.“This may sound odd, but if that happens swiftly, meaning within the next couple months, that actually becomes the bull case in my view,” she said. “It could be a quick and painful drop, resulting in a renewed move higher later in the year that’s more durable, as inflation falls more notably.”","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":106,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9934350163,"gmtCreate":1663199680752,"gmtModify":1676537224196,"author":{"id":"4090707232019850","authorId":"4090707232019850","name":"xnegate","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/7549d1578f4d67f05cd97a41e6bfb844","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Nice","listText":"Nice","text":"Nice","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9934350163","repostId":"1166187981","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1166187981","pubTimestamp":1663155048,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1166187981?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2022-09-14 19:30","market":"us","language":"en","title":"SoftBank Considers Launching a Third Vision Fund","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1166187981","media":"the wall street journal","summary":"Global tech investor SoftBank GroupCorp. is considering the launch of a new giant startup investment","content":"

Global tech investor SoftBank GroupCorp. is considering the launch of a new giant startup investment fund, part of a plan to turn a new leafafter the poor performance at its two earlier funds, according to people familiar with discussions at the company.

The Tokyo-based tech conglomerate, by far the world’s largest startup investor in recent years, would likely use its own cash for what would be the third SoftBank Vision Fund if it moves ahead with the plan, some of the people said.

The company is also considering putting additional moneyinto Vision Fund 2, its main investment fundfor the past few years, instead of starting a new fund, one of the people said. External factors like interest rates, inflation and the risk of a recession are keeping shares in the EV maker rangebound. This may carry on in the near term.

This doesn’t mean you should take a hard pass on Tesla. While it may not make another big leap immediately, shares stand to do so down the road.

Macro worries notwithstanding, the rapid adoption of EVs point to continued strong prospects ahead for this company, and for the stock. It may be getting close to exit the charging station. Let’s dive in, and find out why.

TSLA

Tesla

$295.90

A Closer Look at TSLA Stock

Overall market sentiment explains why Tesla shares find themselves rangebound at present. While there’s still positive news coming out of the company (more below), it’s not enough to counter the above-mentioned concerns.

Again, this could continue for now with TSLA stock. More talk about a 2023 recession could result in it giving back some more of its August gains. So too, could further rate hikes by the Federal Reserve.

Rising interest rates will make more investors skeptical about whether it’s justified for shares to sport such a high earnings multiple. Right now, it trades for 69x forward earnings.

Yet while this may make investing in Tesla frustrating at present, this frustration may not last long. Unlike growth stocks overall, which may take some time to begin their recovery, a rebound for high-quality EV plays like this one could arrive much sooner.

EV adoption in the U.S. and in China (the largest EV market) keeps accelerating. This may end up outweighing the fallout from a recession. It may not be certain but, digging into the data, it’s reasonable to believe that this scenario will play out.

A Lot Points to Results Staying Strong

Doom and gloom headlines may have you concerned about growth for TSLA stock in the coming year. However, a look at EV sales trends suggests otherwise. Now at5.3%of new car sales, U.S. EV adoption is occurring at afaster-than-anticipated rate.

This adoption rate is likely to continue climbing, as the expanded EV tax credit, courtesy of the Inflation Reduction Act, further bolsters demand.

The switch from buying gas-powered cars, to buying electric-powered ones, accelerated by the Federal Government’s financial incentives, may help counter the effect of belt-tightening among U.S. households.

Over in China, talk about a slowdown in the world’s second-largest economy may have you concerned that growth in Tesla’s key international market will take a big hit.

Yet just last month, Tesla sawa significant increasein deliveries and sales from its Shanghai gigafactory. With things at this facility firing on all cylinders, the EV maker is now operating at maximum production capacity.

This leaves it well-positioned to sell into demand, robust due to thebig increase in EV penetration of the global auto market. All of this points to the company continuing to meet/beat expectations with its fiscal results.

The TSLA Stock Takeaway

Tesla stock continues to earn a B rating in myPortfolio Grader. It may not happen right this second, but a breakout may be around the corner for shares. One could occur within the next few months. Either when it next reports earnings in October, or when it reports full-year results in January.

Although this may not satisfy impatient investors, these are more promising prospects for other growth plays. Secular EV growth trends may enable it to deliver the results needed to sustain and grow its stock price.

Other high-fliers struggling right now may face a far longer timeline to a comeback. Instead of a mere few months,it could take a year, or even longer, to get out of rangebound mode, and back into high-flying mode.

TSLA stock remains an EV play worth holding onto, and a name to consider buying. Whether now or on further weakness.

","source":"investorplace","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Tesla Stock Will Rebound in the Not-Too-Distant Future
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nTesla Stock Will Rebound in the Not-Too-Distant Future\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-09-11 09:40 GMT+8 investorplace\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Lately, the market has hit the brakes with its enthusiasm for Tesla (TSLA) stock.Even as macro uncertainties persist, the slide may not last long.Tesla's prospects remain bright in both the U.S. and ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"TSLA":"特斯拉"},"source_url":"https://investorplace.com/2022/09/tsla-stock-will-rebound-in-the-not-too-distant-future/","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1102881307","content_text":"Lately, the market has hit the brakes with its enthusiasm for Tesla (TSLA) stock.Even as macro uncertainties persist, the slide may not last long.Tesla's prospects remain bright in both the U.S. and Chinese EV markets, shares may be soon ready to leave the charging station.Last month, excitement about its stock splits, and the expansion of U.S. electric vehicle (EV) tax credits, was enough to get investors fully charged up aboutTesla(NASDAQ:TSLA) stock. But so far this month, a cooldown in excitement (which I anticipated back in August) has played out. While it may not make another big leap immediately, shares stand to do so down the road.Macro worries notwithstanding, the rapid adoption of EVs point to continued strong prospects ahead for this company, and for the stock. It may be getting close to exit the charging station. Let’s dive in, and find out why.TSLATesla$295.90A Closer Look at TSLA StockOverall market sentiment explains why Tesla shares find themselves rangebound at present. While there’s still positive news coming out of the company (more below), it’s not enough to counter the above-mentioned concerns.Again, this could continue for now with TSLA stock. More talk about a 2023 recession could result in it giving back some more of its August gains. So too, could further rate hikes by the Federal Reserve.Rising interest rates will make more investors skeptical about whether it’s justified for shares to sport such a high earnings multiple. Right now, it trades for 69x forward earnings.Yet while this may make investing in Tesla frustrating at present, this frustration may not last long. Unlike growth stocks overall, which may take some time to begin their recovery, a rebound for high-quality EV plays like this one could arrive much sooner.EV adoption in the U.S. and in China (the largest EV market) keeps accelerating. This may end up outweighing the fallout from a recession. It may not be certain but, digging into the data, it’s reasonable to believe that this scenario will play out.A Lot Points to Results Staying StrongDoom and gloom headlines may have you concerned about growth for TSLA stock in the coming year. The switch from buying gas-powered cars, to buying electric-powered ones, accelerated by the Federal Government’s financial incentives, may help counter the effect of belt-tightening among U.S. households.Over in China, talk about a slowdown in the world’s second-largest economy may have you concerned that growth in Tesla’s key international market will take a big hit.Yet just last month, Tesla sawa significant increasein deliveries and sales from its Shanghai gigafactory. The TSLA Stock TakeawayTesla stock continues to earn a B rating in myPortfolio Grader. It may not happen right this second, but a breakout may be around the corner for shares. One could occur within the next few months. Either when it next reports earnings in October, or when it reports full-year results in January.Although this may not satisfy impatient investors, these are more promising prospects for other growth plays. Secular EV growth trends may enable it to deliver the results needed to sustain and grow its stock price.Other high-fliers struggling right now may face a far longer timeline to a comeback. Instead of a mere few months,it could take a year, or even longer, to get out of rangebound mode, and back into high-flying mode.TSLA stock remains an EV play worth holding onto, and a name to consider buying. Whether now or on further weakness.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":46,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9081658613,"gmtCreate":1650241774372,"gmtModify":1676534675607,"author":{"id":"4090707232019850","authorId":"4090707232019850","name":"xnegate","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/7549d1578f4d67f05cd97a41e6bfb844","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Tattooed Chef, Inc(TTCF)$ssadge","listText":"$Tattooed Chef, Inc(TTCF)$ssadge","text":"$Tattooed Chef, Inc(TTCF)$ssadge","images":[{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/35dc3194a8b1948330a3bfc78095fdaa","width":"720","height":"1280"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9081658613","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":140,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9083773217,"gmtCreate":1650164483278,"gmtModify":1676534660687,"author":{"id":"4090707232019850","authorId":"4090707232019850","name":"xnegate","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/7549d1578f4d67f05cd97a41e6bfb844","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Tattooed Chef, Inc(TTCF)$ssadge","listText":"$Tattooed Chef, Inc(TTCF)$ssadge","text":"$Tattooed Chef, Inc(TTCF)$ssadge","images":[{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/35dc3194a8b1948330a3bfc78095fdaa","width":"720","height":"1280"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9083773217","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":173,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9083997008,"gmtCreate":1650065945564,"gmtModify":1676534637705,"author":{"id":"4090707232019850","authorId":"4090707232019850","name":"xnegate","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/7549d1578f4d67f05cd97a41e6bfb844","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Medical Properties(MPW)$vvery stonks","listText":"$Medical Properties(MPW)$vvery stonks","text":"$Medical Properties(MPW)$vvery stonks","images":[{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/5f2b69ed7d243eb124a2d3446d92f151","width":"720","height":"2342"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9083997008","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":275,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":815062854,"gmtCreate":1630630855178,"gmtModify":1676530360275,"author":{"id":"4090707232019850","authorId":"4090707232019850","name":"xnegate","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/7549d1578f4d67f05cd97a41e6bfb844","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Hi","listText":"Hi","text":"Hi","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/815062854","repostId":"807139027","repostType":1,"repost":{"id":807139027,"gmtCreate":1628004498869,"gmtModify":1703499557028,"author":{"id":"3582640102592298","authorId":"3582640102592298","name":"whitemeow","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/24c2bce3dabfd8946961b8a162319f8f","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$AMC Entertainment(AMC)$ should I wait till tomorrow then buy to average down?
