Apple stock nearly entered bear market earlier this week, after having dipped 17%-plus from the all-time high of January.

But there have been signs lately that investors might be ready to start buying this dip.

It is hard to tell exactly why this vicious (but still very incipient) recovery began to take shape. On March 15, Apple’s nearly $5-per-share spike looked a lot like a volatility-driven rebound from the previous few days’ sharp declines.

But on Wednesday, another similar jump could be better explained by one key event: the Federal Reserve’sfirst move to raise short-term interest rates in years. The 25-basis point increase has been widely anticipated, and is nearly guaranteed to be only the first of many.

While this was clearly the catalyst that sent AAPL to nearly $160, at the same time it is tough to explain why the monetary policy announcement created $75 billion in market cap for Apple investors in a day. Shouldn’t higher interest rates be a negative for tech and growth stocks?

I believe that economic and business fundamentals have nothing to do with this. Now that it is finally here, it may be time for everyone to just move on.

Is $3 trillion next?

I believe it is still way too early to project Apple $3 trillion once again — that is, a 12.5% gain that leads the share price to roughly $180. For now, AAPL’s recent $10 recovery could be a dead cat bounce in disguise, as mini-rallies are a feature of soft market conditions.

From the point of view of a long-term investor, however, I would still be interested in accumulating AAPL shares at less than $160.As I explained recently, Apple stock returns have historically been better after shares sink at least 10% to 15% from the peak.

I have little doubt that, eventually (timing here is a big question mark), AAPL will reclaim $180 per share and $3 trillion in market cap. I would rather ride the upside from current levels than wait until shares have climbed much higher to, only then, join the party.

","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Apple Stock: Look Up Above, Is $3 Trillion Next?
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nApple Stock: Look Up Above, Is $3 Trillion Next?\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-03-17 21:09 GMT+8 TheStreet\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Apple stock has been having a tough 2022, but shares bounced strongly in the past couple of days. For now, AAPL’s recent $10 recovery could be a dead cat bounce in disguise, as mini-rallies are a feature of soft market conditions. From the point of view of a long-term investor, however, I would still be interested in accumulating AAPL shares at less than $160.As I explained recently, Apple stock returns have historically been better after shares sink at least 10% to 15% from the peak.I have little doubt that, eventually (timing here is a big question mark), AAPL will reclaim $180 per share and $3 trillion in market cap. I would rather ride the upside from current levels than wait until shares have climbed much higher to, only then, join the party.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"AAPL":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":576,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9038085082,"gmtCreate":1646698656072,"gmtModify":1676534151527,"author":{"id":"4102484933616380","authorId":"4102484933616380","name":"Swcs","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/cd00fe8a1bd5120be74a43413cc51da7","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4102484933616380","authorIdStr":"4102484933616380"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Interesting ","listText":"Interesting ","text":"Interesting","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":1,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9038085082","repostId":"2217412305","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2217412305","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1646698332,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2217412305?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-03-08 08:12","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Got $2,000? But let's not stop there. Look ahead two decades from now. There's a very good chance that you'll either be glad you invested \"way back when\" or will be kicking yourself because you didn't.Of course, which stocks you pick will play a huge role in just how great the prospects might be. And there are some really good choices ready for the plucking even for investors who don't have a huge amount of cash. If you have $2,000, here are three unstoppable stocks to buy right now.1. Innovative Industrial PropertiesCannabis has been used by people for both medical and recreational purposes for a long time. It's not a current fad that's going to go up in smoke. One of the best ways to invest in the U.S. cannabis opportunity is to buy shares of Innovative Industrial Properties (NYSE:IIPR).The company doesn't grow, process, sell, or handle cannabis in any shape, form, or fashion. But IIP definitely serves as a go-to resource for many businesses that do. IIP is a real estate investment trust (REIT) that focuses exclusively on providing real estate capital to the regulated cannabis industry in the U.S.Cannabis operators in the U.S. don't currently have full access to traditional banking services because of federal restrictions. IIP gives them a solution to raise capital. It buys the properties of cannabis operators, then leases those properties back to them. Everyone wins.Speaking of winning, IIP has delivered total returns of more than 1,200% over the past five years. The stock is down close to 35% below its peak in late 2021. However, there are plenty of opportunities for IIP to buy and lease additional properties. As it does so, the company's earnings will increase -- and its share price will almost certainly follow.2. MercadoLibreGreat opportunities don't just exist in the U.S. Latin America has a fast-growing middle class and a big market. Buying shares of MercadoLibre (NASDAQ:MELI) stands out as arguably the best way for investors to profit as the region's market expands. The company is best known for its e-commerce platform. E-commerce continues to be MercadoLibre's biggest revenue source, accounting for nearly 65% of total revenue in the fourth quarter of 2021.There's a huge runway for growth, too. Chief financial officer Pedro Arnt said in the company's fourth-quarter conference call, \"Even after the significant uptake in digital services we experienced over the last couple of years, e-commerce penetration in our region is still only at around the 10% range.\"However, MercadoLibre has other growth drivers as well. Many people in Latin America face challenges obtaining traditional banking and insurance services. This presents a massive growth opportunity for the company's fintech business.MercadoLibre's share price is still more than 40% off its high even after a solid rebound following its blockbuster fourth-quarter update. This stock should have a lot of room to run.3. Teladoc HealthShares of Teladoc Health (NYSE:TDOC) have plunged nearly 70% over the past 12 months. Some might derisively view the stock as unstoppable -- going the wrong direction. But Teladoc's recent stock performance doesn't reflect the company's tremendous potential. It stands as the clear leader in the virtual-care market. It offers the broadest range of virtual-care services, including chronic-disease management, across the widest geographical footprint. More than 12,000 client organizations and 76 million members use at least one of Teladoc's products. The company has two key ways to grow. First, it can expand the use of its services by existing customers. Teladoc thinks that there's a $75 billion revenue opportunity on this front. Second, the company can win new clients. This is also a big opportunity since nearly half of all Americans don't currently have access to a Teladoc service.Teladoc isn't profitable yet. But its bottom line is definitely trending in the right direction. With a total addressable market topping $260 billion in the U.S. alone and a market cap of only $11 billion, Teladoc stock could be one of those that in retrospect a few years from now looks like a no-brainer pick.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"IIPR":1,"REIT":1,"TDOC":1,"QNETCN":0.6,"MELI":1}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":798,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9038551896,"gmtCreate":1646873374631,"gmtModify":1676534171950,"author":{"id":"4102484933616380","authorId":"4102484933616380","name":"Swcs","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/cd00fe8a1bd5120be74a43413cc51da7","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4102484933616380","authorIdStr":"4102484933616380"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like like","listText":"Like like","text":"Like like","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":8,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9038551896","repostId":"1167583300","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":538,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9068520264,"gmtCreate":1651794371758,"gmtModify":1676534970436,"author":{"id":"4102484933616380","authorId":"4102484933616380","name":"Swcs","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/cd00fe8a1bd5120be74a43413cc51da7","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4102484933616380","authorIdStr":"4102484933616380"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like","listText":"Like","text":"Like","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9068520264","repostId":"1192245060","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":419,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9017008339,"gmtCreate":1649722767231,"gmtModify":1676534557163,"author":{"id":"4102484933616380","authorId":"4102484933616380","name":"Swcs","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/cd00fe8a1bd5120be74a43413cc51da7","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4102484933616380","authorIdStr":"4102484933616380"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"More to come ","listText":"More to come ","text":"More to come","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":7,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9017008339","repostId":"2226563614","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":335,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9013107241,"gmtCreate":1648688599724,"gmtModify":1676534379499,"author":{"id":"4102484933616380","authorId":"4102484933616380","name":"Swcs","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/cd00fe8a1bd5120be74a43413cc51da7","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4102484933616380","authorIdStr":"4102484933616380"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Flip flop","listText":"Flip flop","text":"Flip flop","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":7,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9013107241","repostId":"2223334013","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2223334013","kind":"highlight","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com brings you the latest news from around the world, covering breaking news in markets, business, politics, entertainment and technology","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Reuters","id":"1036604489","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/443ce19704621c837795676028cec868"},"pubTimestamp":1648680663,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2223334013?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-03-31 06:51","market":"us","language":"en","title":"US STOCKS-Dow, S&P Close Lower After 4 Days of Gains","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2223334013","media":"Reuters","summary":"U.S. bond market spurs recession worryPrivate payrolls increased by 455,000 jobs in MarchDow down 0.19%, S&P 500 down 0.63%, Nasdaq down 1.21%U.S. stocks fell on Wednesday, with the Dow and S&P 500 sn","content":"

U.S. bond market spurs recession worry

Private payrolls increased by 455,000 jobs in March

Dow down 0.19%, S&P 500 down 0.63%, Nasdaq down 1.21%

U.S. stocks fell on Wednesday, with the Dow and S&P 500 snapping four-session winning streaks, on waning signs of progress for peace talks between Ukraine and Russia against a backdrop of a hawkish Federal Reserve curbing economic growth.

The S&P has rebounded more than 5% in March after starting the year with two straight monthly declines. That could be about to chan","content":"

Apple stock and the rest of big tech have faced a difficult year so far. That could be about to change.

Citi upgraded U.S. stocks and the global IT sector to Overweight from Neutral on Wednesday. It signals a return to bullishness by the investment bank on the S&P 500 index and some favorite tech names like Apple, Microsoft, and Nvidia, which have had a tough start to 2022.

The S&P 500 has fallen 8.5% since the beginning of January, with the Nasdaq Composite, a proxy for U.S.-listed tech, down 13%, firmly in correction territory.

It’s a big dip for tech stocks—a dip that may now be worth buying.

Both U.S. equities and global tech stocks “are growth trades that should benefit, in relative terms at least, from the recent sharp drop in real yields,” said a team of Citi strategists led by Robert Buckland.

Real yields are bonds yields—like the benchmark 10-year U.S. Treasury note—discounted for the impact of inflation. And they’ve been falling, as have non-inflation-adjusted bond yields.

The 10-year note began 2022 at just 1.51% and spiked above 2% in early February. Since higher bond yields discount the present value of future cash, and many tech stocks rely on valuations that bank on profits years in the future, elevated yields have been bad news for tech investors.

The surge in yields this year came as markets reacted to indications that the Federal Reserve would soon start significantly increasing interest rates and tightening monetary policy. But recently, amid turbulence caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine, bond yields have fallen.

The 10-year note closed below 1.73% on Monday—levels seen right at the beginning of this year, before the S&P 500 began its slide or the tech selloff began in earnest. That could be about to change.Citi upgraded U.S. stocks and the global IT sector to Overweight from Neutral on Wednesday. It signals a return to bullishness by the investment bank on the S&P 500 index and some favorite tech names like Apple, Microsoft, and Nvidia, which have had a tough start to 2022.The S&P 500 has fallen 8.5% since the beginning of January, with the Nasdaq Composite, a proxy for U.S.-listed tech, down 13%, firmly in correction territory. It’s a big dip for tech stocks—a dip that may now be worth buying. Both U.S. equities and global tech stocks “are growth trades that should benefit, in relative terms at least, from the recent sharp drop in real yields,” said a team of Citi strategists led by Robert Buckland.Real yields are bonds yields—like the benchmark 10-year U.S. In the face of economic uncertainty from the conflict in Eastern Europe, traders increasingly believe the Fed will be less aggressive than was once thought. The mechanics behind the fall in real yields is that inflation expectations are pushing higher—as oil prices spike due to the conflict, roiling commodity markets—while rate expectations fall in tandem with bond yields.10-year real yields were at -0.97% on Wednesday. That put them below the level in early January when Federal Reserve meeting minutes signaled that the central bank was taking a much more hawkish turn than expected, which rattled markets, according to Deutsche Bank strategist Jim Reid.“Real yields collapsing has probably helped cushion the blow for risk assets of the recent very negative events,” Reid said. The group at Citi agrees, and views this as a buying opportunity.“Growth stocks were hit by rising real yields, but should benefit as they reverse,” Buckland’s team strategists said. “Therefore, we raise two classic growth trades (U.S. equities, IT sector) back to Overweight.”Beyond the move in real yields, Citi is upbeat that stocks can weather the current storm well.“Despite the difficult events in Ukraine, global equities have been fairly robust,” the Citi strategists said, noting that losses have been concentrated in financials and stocks with direct Russia exposure. “We still want to buy the dips, and highlight that global equities have ended 10%-20% higher after previous geopolitical crises.”Similarly, Quant Insight, in a Thursday note, writes that for “investors ready to step into turbulent markets, US tech stocks look an efficient defensive bet.”Maybe the tech wreck really is ready to come to an end.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"MSFT":0.9,"AAPL":0.9,"NVDA":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":871,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9068562721,"gmtCreate":1651794269663,"gmtModify":1676534970335,"author":{"id":"4102484933616380","authorId":"4102484933616380","name":"Swcs","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/cd00fe8a1bd5120be74a43413cc51da7","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4102484933616380","authorIdStr":"4102484933616380"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Opportunities abound ","listText":"Opportunities abound ","text":"Opportunities abound","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9068562721","repostId":"1161742465","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":363,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9010884748,"gmtCreate":1648340494038,"gmtModify":1676534328286,"author":{"id":"4102484933616380","authorId":"4102484933616380","name":"Swcs","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/cd00fe8a1bd5120be74a43413cc51da7","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4102484933616380","authorIdStr":"4102484933616380"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Shhh","listText":"Shhh","text":"Shhh","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":7,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9010884748","repostId":"1121832964","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1121832964","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1648339990,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1121832964?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-03-27 08:13","market":"us","language":"en","title":"US IPO Weekly Recap: The IPO Market Remains Frozen in a 1 IPO Week","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1121832964","media":"Renaissance Capital","summary":"The IPO market stayed relatively quiet, with only one IPO and one SPAC pricing this past week.
