Your favourite President will see you soon!\"Led by former Republican US Representative Devin Nunes, Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), the venture behind Truth Social, will join a growing portfolio of technology companies that are positioning themselves as champions of free speech and hope to draw users who feel their views are suppressed on platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. So far none of the companies, which include Twitter competitors Gettr and Parler and video site Rumble, have come close to matching the popularity of their mainstream counterparts. In addition to the post disclosing Monday's launch date, the screenshots seen by Reuters show the app is now at version 1.0, suggesting it has reached a level ready for public release. As late as Wednesday, it was at version 0.9, according to two people with access to that version.A representative for TMTG did not immediately respond to a request for comment.Apple's App Store listing indicates that Truth Social is expected to be released on Feb. 21, a date that a source familiar with the venture confirmed in January. But in recent weeks Mr Nunes had said publicly that the app would launch by the end of March. On Friday, Mr Nunes was on the app urging users to follow more accounts, share photos and videos and participate in conversations, in an apparent attempt to drum up activity, according to a person with knowledge of the matter.Among Mr Nunes' posts, he welcomed a new user who appeared to be a Catholic priest and encouraged him to invite more priests to join, according to the person with knowledge of the matter. No way to edit 'truths'The chief product officer's other responses during Friday's question-and-answer session suggested the startup's features would resemble those of Twitter.Asked whether users would be able to edit their \"truths,\" the executive replied \"not yet.\" The ability to edit posts after publication is something Twitter users have long sought. The next significant feature released on the platform will be direct messages, or DMs, between users, the executive wrote.More On This TopicTrump app opens to hundreds of testers ahead of expected launchTrump social media deal under investigation by US regulatorsThe company is also considering allowing users to sign up to receive notifications when others post content, the executive said. He signalled that the ability to block other users would be an important component.\"There will always be block functionality in the app,\" he wrote.Truth Social will issue a policy on verified accounts \"in the coming weeks,\" the executive added.Even as details of the app begin trickling out, TMTG remains mostly shrouded in secrecy and is regarded with skepticism by some in tech and media circles. It is unclear, for example, how the company is funding its current growth.TMTG is planning to list in New York through a merger with blank-check firm Digital World Acquisition Corp (DWAC), and stands to receive US$293 million (S$394.34 million) in cash that DWAC holds in a trust, assuming no DWAC shareholder redeems their shares, TMTG said in an Oct 21 press release.Additionally, in December TMTG raised US$1 billion committed financing from private investors; that money also will not be available until the DWAC deal closes.Digital World's activities have come under scrutiny from the Securities and Exchange Commission and the US Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, according to a regulatory filing, and the deal is likely months away from closing.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":316,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[{"author":{"id":"4090761370043540","authorId":"4090761370043540","name":"PaYC","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/31739ada9159eef77f1b48eea2a12f4d","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"idStr":"4090761370043540","authorIdStr":"4090761370043540"},"content":"so ironic that it is called truth, when it probably contains many untruths [Happy]","text":"so ironic that it is called truth, when it probably contains many untruths [Happy]","html":"so ironic that it is called truth, when it probably contains many untruths [Happy]"}],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9097856621,"gmtCreate":1645416220670,"gmtModify":1676534026122,"author":{"id":"4104369621079190","authorId":"4104369621079190","name":"GMoney","avatar":"https://static.itradeup.com/news/5ff248979e5761cc16faa9702f1723b6","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4104369621079190","authorIdStr":"4104369621079190"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Shopify is legit","listText":"Shopify is legit","text":"Shopify is legit","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9097856621","repostId":"2212383678","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2212383678","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1645342032,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2212383678?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-02-20 15:27","market":"us","language":"en","title":"A Perfect Storm Cut Shopify Stock in Half; Is It Time to Buy?","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2212383678","media":"TipRanks","summary":"The stock market is in brutal mode right now and signaling to the pandemic era stars that it is payb","content":"
\n
The stock market is in brutal mode right now and signaling to the pandemic era stars that it is payback time. For example, shares of Shopify (SHOP) have shed 51% year-to-date with 16% of the decline coming in Wednesday’s session, following the Canadian ecommerce giant’s Q4 report. That is despite the company beating the estimates on both the top-and bottom-line. Revenue increased by 41% year-over-year to reach $1.38 billion - $40 million above the consensus estimate, while non-GAAP EPS of $1.37 provided a $0.06 beat. But as has become de rigueur, investors are no longer impressed by quarterly outperformance, they want confirmation the growth is set to continue. And this is a problem for many online companies, which were particularly in favor during the height of Covid’s impact; as consumers shifted spending habits online, some experienced huge growth sprouts which will not be repeated. The picture is even more complex for Shopify. Hand in hand with more normalized growth, the company has said it intends to heavily spend this year on the expansion of its distribution network. While Piper Sandler's Brent Bracelin thinks the plan could work in the long run, it alters the picture closer to the here and now.“The elevated investment appetite was surprising and could pressure profits and cash flows in the short-run,” the 5-star analyst explained. “In the end, this should better position the company to capture a more meaningful portion of the $4T U.S. retail commerce industry with the potential to re-accelerate growth in 2023. However, the gross margin implications and higher execution risks in the near-term could change how growth investors value SHOP with a greater emphasis on EV/GP multiples going forward.”To this end, while Bracelin sticks to an Overweight (i.e., Buy) rating, given “higher execution risks,” the analyst has slashed the price target from $1,400 to $900, suggesting shares could climb ~34% in the year ahead. The Street’s average target, on the other hand, remains elevated. Shares are anticipated to appreciate by 74% over the coming months, given the average price target stands at $1,302 and change. The picture is more mixed on the ratings front; the stock’s Moderate Buy consensus rating is based on 14 Buys and 10 Holds.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":245,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9095793623,"gmtCreate":1644983517599,"gmtModify":1676533983578,"author":{"id":"4104369621079190","authorId":"4104369621079190","name":"GMoney","avatar":"https://static.itradeup.com/news/5ff248979e5761cc16faa9702f1723b6","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4104369621079190","authorIdStr":"4104369621079190"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"These companies will never change. According to the Aboriginal Areas Protection Authority, the government’s ruling announced Tuesday means the company must undertake consultation with all custodians before it commences any expansion.“Protecting sacred sites is not a box to be ticked, or an obstacle to be sidestepped,” Benedict Scambary, chief executive officer at the protection authority, said in a statement. “Aboriginal custodians must give free, prior and informed consent to development.”As part of its expansion plan, Glencore is seeking to almost double the height of a waste rock facility adjacent to the Damangani sacred site. The height of the facility is currently limited to 80 meters to preserve the visibility of Damangani within the surrounding landscape. In response to the government ruling, Glencore said in a statement emailed Wednesday that since 2018 it had “publicly committed to engaging with traditional custodians to negotiate an Indigenous Land Use Agreement.” It added it remained “committed to further development of our mine site.”Miners around the world have been under pressure to improve Indigenous heritage protections after Rio Tinto destroyed rock shelters used by Australia’s Indigenous people for an estimated 46,000 years.
The picture is more mixed on the ratings front; the stock’s Moderate Buy consensus rating is based on 14 Buys and 10 Holds.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":245,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9095790355,"gmtCreate":1644983103118,"gmtModify":1676533983545,"author":{"id":"4104369621079190","authorId":"4104369621079190","name":"GMoney","avatar":"https://static.itradeup.com/news/5ff248979e5761cc16faa9702f1723b6","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4104369621079190","authorIdStr":"4104369621079190"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Good read","listText":"Good read","text":"Good read","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9095790355","repostId":"1105114210","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1105114210","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1644981864,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1105114210?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-02-16 11:24","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Why Did Plug Power, Bloom Energy, and Fuelcell Energy All Popped on Tuesday?","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1105114210","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"That rally may not last very long.","content":"

Key Points

Bloom Energy delivered a pleasant surprise in its earnings release last week.

Bank of America responded to the news with a prediction of more strong results from Bloom Energy in 2022.

Investors seem to be assuming that what's good for Bloom will be good for its fuel cell industry peers -- but they may be mistaken.

What happened

Fuel cellcompany Plug Power's(NASDAQ:PLUG) stock price continued to power higher on Tuesday, still coasting on the updraft that it got from peer Bloom Energy's(NYSE:BE) positive earnings reportlate last week -- and the big vote of confidence Bloom got from Bank of America Monday.

In fact, it looks like all of the major fuel cell stocks were rising Tuesday.
