And there's nothing wrong with gambling, but if you're looking to build life-changing wealth, you're better off taking a buy-and-hold approach. A long-term mindset helps you avoid short-term volatility and it gives your investment theses time to play out.

Two stocks that could benefit an investor using a buy-and-hold approach are Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) and Zscaler (NASDAQ:ZS). Tesla

CEO Elon Musk has often said manufacturing efficiency would be Tesla's long-term advantage, and the company is making good on that notion. Its theoretical annual production capacity now exceeds 1 million electric vehicles (EVs), and despite headwinds created by chip shortages, Tesla delivered over 936,000 vehicles in 2021, up 87% from the prior year.

More importantly, as production capacity has scaled in both the U.S. and China, Tesla's cost per vehicle has fallen, dropping 55% between 2017 and the first quarter of 2021. That efficiency is due in part to Tesla's 2170 battery cell, a technology that Musk has called "the highest energy density cell in the world, and also the cheapest." To that end, Tesla pays an estimated $187 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for its battery packs -- the most expensive part of an EV. That's 24% lower than the industry average and 10% lower than the next-closest competitor.

Additionally, through November 2021, Tesla held 13.7% market share in terms of EV sales, easily besting the second-place EV manufacturer BYD, which captured 9% market share. Collectively, the company's improving efficiency and its dominant position have translated into impressive financial results on both the top and bottom lines.

Metric

Q3 2019

Q3 2021

CAGR

Revenue (TTM)

$24.4 million

$46.9 billion

39%

Free cash flow (TTM)

$873 million

$2.6 billion

71%

Data source: YCharts. TTM = trailing 12 months. CAGR = compound annual growth rate.

Despite Tesla's past success, I think the company's best days are yet to come. Production of the Tesla Semi (a semi-tractor trailer) is slated to start in 2022, and the trucking industry is ripe for disruption. The company also plans to integrate its new 4680 battery cell into vehicles this year, a technology that should reinforce its current cost advantages. Specifically, management believes the 4680 battery cell will cut the cost per kWh by 56% and boost EV range by 54%.

Further down the road, Tesla aims to launch an autonomous ride-hailing service, a market that ARK Invest analysts value at $1.2 trillion by 2030. While Tesla's full self-driving software is still in the works, Musk has hinted that the company would have a fully autonomous $25,000 EV in late 2023 or 2024. But even if Tesla misses that target, the company still appears to have a big head start in the race to build a self-driving car. That's why I plan to hold this stock forever.

2. Zscaler

Zscaler specializes in cybersecurity. Its cloud platform, the Zero Trust Exchange, is spread across 150 data centers, creating a global network that is fast, safe, and reliable. This distributed architecture, known as a secure access service edge (SASE), allows clients to access corporate resources from any device or location, while also eliminating the IT burden of buying and managing on-site hardware. In short, Zscaler is the new corporate network.

Specifically, Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) safeguards internally managed resources, like software hosted in a private data center; and Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) offers the same protection for externally managed resources, such as applications hosted in the public cloud. More recently, the company expanded its offering with Zscaler Digital Experience (ZDX), an infrastructure performance monitoring solution, and Zscaler Cloud Protection (ZCP), a suite of tools that allows clients to secure cloud workloads.

Collectively, those products fuel digital transformation, keeping corporate networks secure no matter whether the information is stored on-site or in the cloud, nor whether it's accessed by employees in the office or those working remotely. To that end, research firm Gartner believes 60% of enterprises will have plans in place to adopt SASE networks by 2025, up from just 10% in 2020.

More importantly, Gartner has recognized Zscaler as the industry leader for 10 consecutive years, and that advantage has been a powerful growth driver for this cybersecurity company.

Metric

Q1 2020

Q1 2022

CAGR

Revenue (TTM)

$333.1 million

$761.0 million

51%

Free cash flow (TTM)

$33.5 million

$184.9 million

135%

Data source: YCharts. TTM = trailing 12 months. CAGR = compound annual growth rate. Note: Q1 2022 ended Oct. 31, 2021.

Going forward, Zscaler has plenty of room to grow its business. The company currently serves 5,600 clients, comprising 26 million paid seats. But management puts the near-term opportunity at 335 million seats, which brings the company's addressable market to $72 billion. However, Zscaler could extend its services to smaller businesses (fewer than 2,000 employees), which would push its opportunity above 600 million seats.

More broadly, as the best-in-class network security solution, the company should see strong demand in the coming years as more enterprises seek to protect their sensitive data. That's why this growth stock looks like a smart buy for long-term investors.

","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Want to Get Richer? 2 Top Growth Stocks to Buy and Hold
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nWant to Get Richer? 2 Top Growth Stocks to Buy and Hold\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-01-08 09:20 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Warren Buffett once said that his favorite stock holding period is forever. ZscalerZscaler specializes in cybersecurity. In short, Zscaler is the new corporate network.Specifically, Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) safeguards internally managed resources, like software hosted in a private data center; and Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) offers the same protection for externally managed resources, such as applications hosted in the public cloud. More recently, the company expanded its offering with Zscaler Digital Experience (ZDX), an infrastructure performance monitoring solution, and Zscaler Cloud Protection (ZCP), a suite of tools that allows clients to secure cloud workloads.Collectively, those products fuel digital transformation, keeping corporate networks secure no matter whether the information is stored on-site or in the cloud, nor whether it's accessed by employees in the office or those working remotely. To that end, research firm Gartner believes 60% of enterprises will have plans in place to adopt SASE networks by 2025, up from just 10% in 2020.More importantly, Gartner has recognized Zscaler as the industry leader for 10 consecutive years, and that advantage has been a powerful growth driver for this cybersecurity company.MetricQ1 2020Q1 2022CAGRRevenue (TTM)$333.1 million$761.0 million51%Free cash flow (TTM)$33.5 million$184.9 million135%Data source: YCharts. TTM = trailing 12 months. CAGR = compound annual growth rate. Note: Q1 2022 ended Oct. 31, 2021.Going forward, Zscaler has plenty of room to grow its business. The company currently serves 5,600 clients, comprising 26 million paid seats. But management puts the near-term opportunity at 335 million seats, which brings the company's addressable market to $72 billion. However, Zscaler could extend its services to smaller businesses (fewer than 2,000 employees), which would push its opportunity above 600 million seats.More broadly, as the best-in-class network security solution, the company should see strong demand in the coming years as more enterprises seek to protect their sensitive data. That's why this growth stock looks like a smart buy for long-term investors.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":185,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9099535693,"gmtCreate":1643381953139,"gmtModify":1676533814169,"author":{"id":"4104560215136860","authorId":"4104560215136860","name":"Tracy3688","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4104560215136860","authorIdStr":"4104560215136860"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Yeah 😍","listText":"Yeah 😍","text":"Yeah 😍","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":7,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9099535693","repostId":"1142601551","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1142601551","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1643380379,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1142601551?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-01-28 22:32","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Apple Jumped Nearly 5% in Morning Trading after Its Quarterly Profit Exceeded $30 Billion","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1142601551","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"Apple jumped nearly 5% in morning trading after its quarterly profit exceeded $30 billion.Apple (AAP","content":"

Apple jumped nearly 5% in morning trading after its quarterly profit exceeded $30 billion.Apple (AAPL) reported record earnings of $34.63 billion for the quarter ended Dec. 25 -- the first time its quarterly profit exceeded $30 billion. If you can find high-quality companies and hold them relentlessly -- even through hard times and recessions -- you have the opportunity to build immense wealth for yourself.

You could employ this strategy today, kick-starting a potentially fruitful journey. Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA), Doximity (NYSE:DOCS), and fuboTV (NYSE:FUBO) have extremely large addressable markets and rock-solid competitive advantages over their competitors, and I think these companies could flourish for the next 13 years.

Nvidia

As the market leader in high-performance graphics processing units (GPUs), Nvidia's chips are used in nearly everything, including gaming, full-self-driving vehicles, data centers, and even in building out the metaverse. This wide optionality and its leadership in the space have allowed the company to generate third-quarter revenue of $7.1 billion, net income of $2.5 billion, and free cash flow of $1.3 billion.

Chips are in extremely high demand right now, and this demand will only increase over the next decade as more artificial intelligence, data, and other new technologies enter the world. The majority of these systems need hundreds of chips to operate, and Nvidia is leading the pack in the production of these chips, quickly gaining market share. In the fiscal year 2019 (the calendar year 2018), the company brought in $11.7 billion in revenue, but this fiscal year, the company is expecting to bring in $26.7 billion -- representing 128% growth over that period.

This growth, however, comes at a high price. Nvidia shares trade at 69 times earnings and 78 times free cash flow, which are extremely high multiples. Nvidia's market cap is currently over $600 billion, so 10Xing over the next 13 years is not an easy feat. However, considering how dominant the company has been in the past and how Nvidia's chips will likely play a major role in the future, the company has the potential to produce incredible returns over the next decade.

The data center market is expected to be worth $65 billion by 2026 and $54 billion for the gaming GPU market by 2025. Because Nvidia has a dominant market share in both of those industries, I wouldn't be surprised if Nvidia can continue to dominate these industries over the coming years as it becomes a staple of technology.

Doximity

Doximity has become the primary social media and work platform for healthcare professionals, offering them the ability to provide telehealth services, speak with patients as well as other doctors, and learn about the newest drugs and practices in their field. This has made Doximity the all-in-one app healthcare professionals need for their professional lives. As a result, over 80% of physicians and 90% of medical students are on Doximity.

Like Nvidia, Doximity trades at a high multiple of 31 times sales -- even after the company fell 58% off its all-time high. However, this extremely high multiple might be justified. Doximity has a dominant market share in the space, yet the company is growing rapidly and is profitable. In its most recent quarter, the company grew its revenue 76% year over year to $79 million, and 45% of that turned into net income for the quarter.

Doximity has little room for future growth in terms of adding users to its platform, but the expansion in the number of advertisers on the platform -- where Doximity earns its revenue from -- has lots of potential going forward. Drug manufacturers and healthcare companies looking to hire medical professionals advertise on Doximity, and the company estimates that it has a $7.3 billion market opportunity in just growing the number of advertisers on the platform. With a total market worth $18.5 billion, there is plenty of room for the company to flourish over the next decade considering it is expecting just $327 million in full-year revenue.

fuboTV

One of the main reasons consumers still have their cable television is because of the inability to stream live sports or news on popular services like Netflix, but fubo is trying to change that. It is becoming a pure-play service that focuses specifically on streaming live sports of all kinds, and it is seeing rapid adoption because of it. In the third quarter of 2021, the company reported 945,000 subscribers -- representing growth of 108% year over year.

This is small, especially compared to other streaming stocks like Netflix, which has almost 222 million subscribers across the world. Despite this large opportunity, the company is not valued for future success. Fubo trades at just 2.4 times sales -- a rock-bottom multiple, especially for a company growing at triple-digit rates. This is low compared to streaming services like Netflix, which trades at 5.6 times sales despite slower growth.

In a Pew Research poll, 56% of Americans said they have cable television, so the trend of cutting the cord is still in full swing. If fubo can become the primary streaming service that these Americans switch to for their live TV, then fubo has an incredible opportunity to expand their customer count. With less than 1 million users today, fubo is trying to attract roughly 100 million consumers, making its market opportunity immense to say the very least. This huge growth potential could allow fubo to more than 10X if it can successfully penetrate this market, and as one of the only providers focusing on live TV, fubo looks poised to do so, which is why I think it can 10X from here by 2035.

","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
These 3 Stocks Could 10x Your Money by 2035
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nThese 3 Stocks Could 10x Your Money by 2035\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-02-06 11:30 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
For investors looking to create life-changing wealth, often the best way to do so is through a simple buy-and-hold strategy. On Tuesday, the software giant agreed to pay $68.7 billion, or $95 per share, in an all-cash deal to buy Activision.

However, Activision stock closed Tuesday's trading session at $82.31, which suggests market participants are placing 50/50 odds on the deal being approved by regulators. The deal is expected to close sometime in Microsoft's fiscal 2023 (which begins July 1, 2022).

Big tech hasn't gotten an easy pass from regulators in recent years, and Microsoft's bid for one of the world's top video game publishers will certainly be put under the microscope by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Trade Commission.

I bought shares of Activision Blizzard when the stock was trading in the $60s, but deal or no deal, there are two reasons I'm not planning to cash out anytime soon.

Reason 1: It's easy money

Microsoft's buyout offer was 15% above Tuesday's closing price. Investors can earn another 15% gain by simply holding their Activision shares until the deal is finalized, which will look like a smart move if the market declines in 2022. But first, the deal has to be approved. Here's why that should happen.

The video game industry is bigger than movies and is estimated to be worth $175 billion by market researcher Newzoo. But the combined revenue of the top three U.S.-based game companies -- Activision, Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:EA), and Take-Two Interactive (NASDAQ:TTWO) -- makes up just 11% of the entire industry.

By itself, Activision's trailing-12-month revenue is only 5% of annual video game sales.

Microsoft's gaming business generated $15 billion in revenue in fiscal 2021, so with Activision's $9 billion, Microsoft would control only 14% of the industry. From that perspective, there shouldn't be competition concerns, but there's more to it.

Reason 2: The deal might not happen

One reason the deal won't receive approval is that it would fuel more industry consolidation and, in turn, give big tech the green light to make more deals and dominate a large and growing entertainment market.

Last year, Microsoft scooped up one of the largest privately-held game companies by paying $7.5 billion for ZeniMax Media, owner of Bethesda Softworks, which makes the classic Elder Scrolls franchise, among others.

Just about all the big tech companies are investing in video games in some form, but if Microsoft's deal is approved, I would keep my eye on Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL), which is trying to grow the Google Stadia cloud gaming service.

Google Stadia is a direct competitor with Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass subscription service. The addition of Activision's nearly 400 million monthly active users to the Xbox ecosystem would essentially push Game Pass way out in the lead in cloud gaming, where Game Pass already has 25 million subscribers.

If Google Stadia wants to remain relevant, Alphabet might make a move to acquire another top gaming studio to shore up its exclusive game catalog and win more subscribers.

Another thing to remember is that Microsoft cited the metaverse as a reason for its interest in buying Activision. Facebook parent Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:FB) is already investing heavily in virtual reality and also plans to invest in the metaverse over the next several years. All said, if Microsoft lands Activision, Electronic Arts, and Take-Two will become prime takeover targets as tech companies race to stack up a talented roster of software programmers to build the future of gaming.

But the prospects of a few tech platforms consolidating control over an increasingly important market for consumers is a reason this deal may not happen. The Biden administration has taken a strong stance on enforcing antitrust and competition policy at the DOJ, so it's doubtful that regulators would give the big tech giants a thumbs-up to go forth and conquer a $175 billion industry. The deal is expected to close sometime in Microsoft's fiscal 2023 (which begins July 1, 2022).Image source: Getty Images.Big tech hasn't gotten an easy pass from regulators in recent years, and Microsoft's bid for one of the world's top video game publishers will certainly be put under the microscope by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Trade Commission.I bought shares of Activision Blizzard when the stock was trading in the $60s, but deal or no deal, there are two reasons I'm not planning to cash out anytime soon.Reason 1: It's easy moneyMicrosoft's buyout offer was 15% above Tuesday's closing price. But the combined revenue of the top three U.S.-based game companies -- Activision, Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:EA), and Take-Two Interactive (NASDAQ:TTWO) -- makes up just 11% of the entire industry.By itself, Activision's trailing-12-month revenue is only 5% of annual video game sales.Microsoft's gaming business generated $15 billion in revenue in fiscal 2021, so with Activision's $9 billion, Microsoft would control only 14% of the industry. From that perspective, there shouldn't be competition concerns, but there's more to it.Reason 2: The deal might not happenOne reason the deal won't receive approval is that it would fuel more industry consolidation and, in turn, give big tech the green light to make more deals and dominate a large and growing entertainment market.Last year, Microsoft scooped up one of the largest privately-held game companies by paying $7.5 billion for ZeniMax Media, owner of Bethesda Softworks, which makes the classic Elder Scrolls franchise, among others.Just about all the big tech companies are investing in video games in some form, but if Microsoft's deal is approved, I would keep my eye on Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL), which is trying to grow the Google Stadia cloud gaming service.Google Stadia is a direct competitor with Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass subscription service. The addition of Activision's nearly 400 million monthly active users to the Xbox ecosystem would essentially push Game Pass way out in the lead in cloud gaming, where Game Pass already has 25 million subscribers. If Google Stadia wants to remain relevant, Alphabet might make a move to acquire another top gaming studio to shore up its exclusive game catalog and win more subscribers.Another thing to remember is that Microsoft cited the metaverse as a reason for its interest in buying Activision. Keep in mind, the combined cash sitting on the books at Alphabet and Meta Platforms is $195 billion, or 1.1 times the size of the gaming industry. It's a win-winIf Microsoft's acquisition attempt fails, Activision shareholders would still own a highly profitable game company that is well-positioned to ride the future growth of the industry, with top franchises under its belt, and interests in esports and consumer products to boot. Plus, Microsoft's offer validates that Activision's intrinsic value is higher than what the stock has been trading for in the last few months.Either way, investors will lock in a 15% gain over Tuesday's closing price, or the deal won't happen, and shareholders can continue holding a top video game stock that will likely be worth more than $95 a share in another five years.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":375,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9035113159,"gmtCreate":1647532482836,"gmtModify":1676534241612,"author":{"id":"4104560215136860","authorId":"4104560215136860","name":"Tracy3688","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4104560215136860","authorIdStr":"4104560215136860"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"👍🏼","listText":"👍🏼","text":"👍🏼","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9035113159","repostId":"1145367741","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1145367741","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1647522542,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1145367741?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-03-17 21:09","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Apple Stock: Look Up Above, Is $3 Trillion Next?","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1145367741","media":"TheStreet","summary":"The Apple Maven explores these two topics below. What sent AAPL soaringThe year has been tough for AAPL and the market at large. Still, this came a day following remarks from Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell reasserting that the central bank would step in as needed to rein in rising prices.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics' December Consumer Price Index (CPI)showed prices rose at a 7.0% year-over-year rate at the end of 2021, marking the fastest increase since 1982. This matched consensus estimates, based on Bloomberg data, and accelerated from November's already elevated 6.8% increase. On a month-over-month basis, consumer prices rose 0.5%, or slightly more than the 0.4% rise expected, to mark an eighteenth consecutive month of prices increases.

Excluding food and energy prices, the so-called core measure of consumer prices rose 5.5% in December over last year, coming in at the fastest rate since 1991.

Wednesday's market moves came following a rebound rally on Tuesday, with markets at least temporarily finding relief in assurances from Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell that the central bank would step in as necessary to ease rising prices. InPowell's renomination hearing before the Senate Banking Committee, the central bank leader reiterated that the Fed would use its policy tools to bring down inflation.

“If we see inflation persisting at high levels, longer than expected, if we have to raise interest rates more over time, then we will,” Powell said during the hearing.

The central bankpreviously telegraphed it was eyeing three interest rate hikesthis year to bring benchmark rates up from their current near-zero levels. However, some topWall Street firms have predictedthe Fed will raise rates four times given the current inflationary backdrop.

But though Powell doubled down on the Fed's goal of curbing inflation and using interest rate hikes as a tool to achieve this, he revealed little further about the Fed's plan to begin shrinking its nearly $9 trillion balance sheet. The Fed's December meeting minutes last week suggested central bank officials were beginning to discuss drawing down the Fed's balance sheet after nearly two years of asset purchases to help support markets during the pandemic.
